Idaho sheriff sends dire warning to 'idiotic' Biden officials: 'We are on the cusp of complete collapse'
[FoxNews] Sheriff Kieran Donahue slams DHS Secretary Mayorkas, says his officers are 'at war' with drug cartels.

An Idaho sheriff said Wednesday his county is experiencing a "crisis level" of drug overdoses, especially fentanyl and methamphetamine that comes across the southern border.

Canyon County, Idaho Sheriff Kieran Donahue joined "Fox & Friends First" to discuss how drug cartels are destroying his community.

"We're at a crisis stage, quite frankly. We have never seen the numbers of seizures and the amounts of any drug, including methamphetamine, like we're seeing in fentanyl. And of course, we're still dealing with the methamphetamine crisis we've been in for years," he told Carley Shimkus.

Donahue said he has had numerous hospitalizations of deputies just from being in contact with the potent drug.

The sheriff said these cartels are well-established and exist in all communities throughout the United States.

"There is not a day or night goes by that we're not dealing with someone associated with the Mexican cartels, at least in our community and communities throughout the state of Idaho. … We are at war with the cartels," he said.

Donahue described how cartels tried to kidnap his then 16-year-old daughter during his time on an FBI gang task force. He said the plot was interrupted before it could be carried out.

"My family's been threatened by these gangs, by the cartel membership. They tried to kidnap my daughter years ago. She was 16 years old. Thankfully, that case got unraveled before it actually happened," he explained.

Donahue concluded by calling DHS Secretary Mayorkas "idiotic" for claiming the southern border is secure and said the administration is "hiding from the truth" about what's going on at the border.

"This is absolutely ridiculous to think this border is secure, that we're safe in our communities. We are not. We are on the cusp of complete collapse."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF unveils Hamas sites to be targeted in future Gaza conflicts
[Jpost] After countless operations in the Gaza Strip where the army failed at legitimizing its actions, the IDF has published several military sites used by Hamas in the heart of urban areas.

The sites, including a weapons warehouse next to Shifa Hospital as well as several mosques, will likely be targeted in a future conflict between the two sides.

The IDF has been highly criticized during military operations in the densely populated Gaza Strip, both abroad and in Israel. During last year’s 11-day Operation Guardian of the Walls, the military was condemned for a strike that targeted the 12-story al-Jalaa tower in Gaza City, which housed AP’s offices, among others.

During last year’s conflict, Israel also targeted what they described as Hamas’s “Metro” network of underground tunnels. The strikes on the underground network, 60 km. long, caused some homes to collapse, killing close to 60 people, including children.

Though the operation destroyed what the IDF considered was a Hamas “backbone” – where its commanders could move troops and weapons and direct attacks against Israel – the military was criticized for the civilian deaths.

An assessment by Airwars, which tracks all civilian harm by all foreign actors in Syria and other conflicts, found that between 56-68 civilians were killed during the strikes targeting the “Metro,” with at least 25 children having been killed. Another 168 civilians were injured.

IDF INVESTIGATES PR ISSUES
Following the May conflict, the IDF opened an investigation into public relations-related issues connected to the conflict and began to work on better coordinating its public advocacy efforts with its actions during war.

While it’s a complex effort, the military believes that legitimizing its actions even before war would provide it with more freedom of action when conflict breaks out. Defense officials said that while the military does not see another war breaking out, preparations for another round of conflict in the Strip are conducted regularly.

On Wednesday shared with both foreign and local press several sites used by the terror group that are military targets.

Among the sites disclosed to journalists on Wednesday was a tunnel used to store weapons and and move fighters in Gaza City's Tuffah neighborhood next to a now-closed Pepsi factory that closed following last year’s war as well as close to a UNRWA elementary school which is used as an emergency shelter for some 2,500 people in times of hostilities.

Another tunnel used by Hamas in the Zabara neighborhood of Gaza City identified by the IDF on Wednesday is under a UNWRA school and a central ambulance center with 14 ambulances as well as a medical equipment storage complex. The tunnel also runs under a church and schools that are used as shelters during hostilities.

Another site is a tunnel entry shaft that was exposed during last year’s conflict near the al-Azar university in Gaza City which has about 20,000 students. According to the IDF, the tunnel entry shaft leads to a network of subterranean tunnels that branches throughout the Tel-Hawa area southwest of Gaza City and is also close to a police station, a UNWRA school, medical clinic, mosque, a community center and UNRWA’s headquarters in the area.

According to the IDF, Hamas has a munition production facility located in a building that is also used as a residential building. The site, which contains explosives and flammable material that would cause extreme damage should it explode, is 45 meters from a mosque, 55 meters from a UNRWA clinic that is used as a triage and primary screening center, and 60 meters from Shifa hospital.

Shifa is considered the blockaded enclave’s main hospital and treats thousands of patients daily. But it has also been used by the terror group for years, including in the 2009 Operation Cast Lead, when senior Hamas officials hid in the building. It also used the hospital in 2014 during Operation Protective Edge as its main headquarters.

The IDF also shared the location of a munition warehouse used by Hamas inside the al-Shahid Mosque in the Bureij refugee camp, in the heart of a civilian neighborhood and next to a public library funded by Germany’s KfW bank. The mosque serves as a community center, providing first aid courses and activities for local children.

Another mosque identified by the IDF as an ammunition depot was the Abdullah Azzam Mosque in the Nuseirat refugee camp. According to the army, the mosque is an important part of the camp, is surrounded by residential homes and is just 86 m. from the offices of UNRWA’s North Nuseirat relief and social services.

“An explosion, an accident or even a fire in the warehouse could result in injuries to civilians, from worshipers in the mosque to people who come to receive humanitarian aid,” the IDF said.

Following a Wednesday tour of the Gaza Division, Defense Minister Benny Gantz said, “Hamas fires from within the civilian population and into the civilian population – the world should charge Hamas a price for its crimes.”
The Times of Israel adds:
The military also published the identities of several Hamas fighters who live in buildings above tunnel entrances.

Iran says arrested Israel-linked agents were Kurdish rebels
[AnNahar] Iran's intelligence ministry said Wednesday that agents linked to Israel's Mossad who were arrested last week were also members of an outlawed Kurdish rebel group who planned to target a "sensitive defense center."
The conclusion that they were Mossad sounds like a stretch.
The ministry had announced on Saturday that it arrested "members of a terrorist organization who work for the Zionist spy agency Mossad and were sent to (Iran) to carry out (a) terrorist operation."

It did not say how many suspects were arrested, nor did it identify the targets of the purported plots against "sensitive sites", but alleged that they entered from neighboring Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region.

On Wednesday, the intelligence ministry said in a new statement that "the elements of the operating team are members of the Komalah terrorist and mercenary group."

Komalah is a Marxist group which seeks autonomy for Kurdish-populated regions of northern Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
and has been outlawed since the Islamic revolution of 1979.

The group has periodically clashed with security forces in northwest Iran, which has a sizeable Kurdish population.

Iranian intelligence forces in April said they arrested a number of Komalah members in the northwestern province of Kurdistan who were seeking to "cause security problems."

The ministry on Wednesday published pictures of equipment and weapons allegedly confiscated from those detained.

They showed square-shaped pieces of furniture with 'bombs' hidden inside, pistols with silencers and bullets, SD cards hidden in the cap of perfume bottles, oxygen tanks, in addition to laptops, mobile phones and cash.

The arrested individuals were aiming to "blow up a sensitive defence industry centre in the country," the statement published on Wednesday said, without identifying the target.

Russia fired S-300 at Israeli jets over Syria in ‘one-off’ incident in May, Gantz confirms
[IsraelTimes] Defense minister acknowledges accuracy of TV report after May Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in Masyaf, says IAF fighter jets had already departed area

Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Tuesday confirmed that Russian forces opened fire on Israeli jets in May using advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, at the end of an Israeli Air Force attack on targets in northwestern Syria.

The incident was first reported by Channel 13 news a week after the strike on May 13, in which the IAF bombed several targets near the city of Masyaf in northwestern Syria.

"It was a one-off incident," Gantz told a conference hosted by Channel 13 on Tuesday when asked by Alon Ben David, the news hound who broke the story.

"Our jets weren’t even in the area," Gantz added, confirming the original report which claimed the S-300 radar did not manage to lock onto the Israeli jets that were leaving the area, and thus did not pose a serious threat to the pilots.

The incident marked the first use of the S-300s against the IAF over Syria.

As Syria’s S-300 batteries are operated by the Russian military and cannot be fired without their approval, it was a worrying development for Israel, which has carried out hundreds of airstrikes inside Syria in the course of the country’s civil war and since, targeting what it says are arms shipments bound for Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity™, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade...
’s Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group and other Iranian-linked sites.

But Gantz stressed: "I think the situation is stable now."

Israel has reportedly conducted numerous airstrikes in Syria since the May incident.

The Masyaf area is thought to be used as a base for Iranian forces and pro-Iranian militias and has been repeatedly targeted in recent years in attacks attributed to Israel. Satellite imagery taken after the strike showed that an underground facility had been completely destroyed.

Gantz’s confirmation comes amid a deterioration in ties between Israel and Russia over Moscow’s plans to shutter the Jewish Agency in the country.

Israel has found itself at odds with Russia as it increasingly supports Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion, while seeking to maintain freedom of movement in Syria’s skies, which are largely controlled by Moscow.

In recent years, Israel and Russia established a so-called deconfliction hotline to keep the sides from getting tangled up and accidentally clashing over Syria.

In 2018, Russia provided the advanced S-300 air defense system to Syria’s military free of charge, transferring three battalions with eight launchers each to the Assad regime despite strenuous objections from Israel and the US.

Russia’s delivery of the S-300 system to Syria followed the downing of a Russian spy aircraft by Syrian forces that were responding to an Israeli strike over Syrian airspace. Russia blamed Israel for the incident, which killed 15 Russian crew members.

Israel and its allies for years had lobbied Russia not to give Syria and other regional players the S-300 system, arguing that it would limit Israel’s ability to neutralize threats, including by Hezbollah.

Beyond providing Syria with its air defenses, Moscow also maintains state-of-the-art S-400 air defense systems to protect its own assets in Syria, but has never turned them on Israeli planes.
