Well, there was an irregularity in the neighborhood shortly after Ayman's demise, the Bar-B-Que. As the smell of pork wafted through the streets and alleyways of Kabul, the unclean dogs feasted on shredded "pork". None of the residents in the vicinity much cared nor were enticed by the aroma of freshly cooked pork, but they were glad, when the dogs consumed every piece within minutes. And the main BBQ entree, quickly digested, found itself deposited in dog pile heaps on the grassy parkland, curbsides and sewer grates. (Or so, I would like to believe happened, that day.)

The Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor has said over 137 out of about 261 borders in the northeast and northwest regions of Nigeria are unguarded.
According to him, intelligence suggested that faceless myrmidons and bandidos are using some of these border points to move freely from other countries into Nigeria to cause mayhem.
Irabor disclosed this on Thursday while delivering a lecture titled "Security, defence & development in Nigeria" at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) in Lagos.
"Our borders are largely unmanned. The penetrability of our vast unmanned land areas — the north-east and north-west zones, particularly Borno, Yobe, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina states — with neigbouring countries such as Niger Republic and Chad among others has continued to be a key source of criminality and violent mostly peaceful crimes in those parts of the country," he said.
"The porous nature of the borders has made it easily accessible for faceless myrmidons and bandidos to enter the country to commit mayhem. For instance, there are about 364 approved international border points in Nigeria with about 261 in the northeast and northwest regions.
"Out of this 261 only 124 are manned leaving the remaining 137 unmanned by security agencies. Intelligence suggests that violent mostly peaceful actors are using some of these normal border points to move freely from countries into Nigeria to cause mayhem."
He called for the use of technology as a tool in strengthening the Nigerian borders, in addition to the erection of physical structures and effective management.
He said there is a need to have a broad-based integrated border management system in the country.

[Breitbart] A survey of police across Sweden has revealed that a majority of officers want the government to deport more foreign criminals and abolish discounts on prison sentences.
The survey, which was commissioned by the Swedish Police Union and conducted by the firm NOVUS, found that a large majority of police officers, 64 per cent, agreed that the government should increase the deportation of foreign criminals.
A total of 66 per cent of officers said that they wanted to abolish automatic release after prisoners serve two-thirds of their sentences and 64 per cent wanted to get rid of “youth discounts” on sentences for younger criminals, newspaper Aftonbladet reports.
“We see that there are many criminal policy proposals coming from the politicians. Then we think it is important that you listen to the profession, and the police officers who, despite a lack of resources and with an increasingly complex crime development, work to create a safer society,” police union leader Lena Nitz said.
“We have a frustration from our members that you see both serious criminal criminals, but also people who commit mass crimes in droves, if I put it that way, who will soon be out on the streets again,” Nitz added.
Deportations of criminals may have some impact on Sweden’s levels of crime, particularly in fatal shootings, as nearly nine in ten of the suspects involved in such killings in Sweden come from some form of migration background.
Recently, many in the Swedish establishment admitted that there is a link between migration and crime, with Gothenburg police commissioner Erik Nord linking migration to fatal gun crime last year.
“It is no longer a secret today that much of the problem of gang and network crime with the shootings and explosions have been linked to migration to Sweden in recent decades,” Nord conceded.
“When, like me, you have the opportunity to follow matters at the individual level, you see that virtually everyone who shoots or is shot in gang conflicts originates from the Balkans, the Middle East, North or East Africa,” he added.

A New York City man who plotted a terrorist attack with a knife on behalf of the Islamic State terror group pleaded guilty in federal court Friday.
Awais Chudhary, 22, admitted to attempting to provide material support to ISIS in a Brooklyn courtroom, the Justice Department said.
He faces up to 20 years in prison.
Federal prosecutors said Chudhary, who was born in Pakistan, pledged his loyalty to the terror group in August 2019 after watching terrorist propaganda videos online. He began planning a knife or bomb attack on targets in Queens and sought guidance from ISIS supporters, authorities said.
He surveilled his intended targets and video recorded areas he wanted to attack, prosecutors said. In addition, he also sent a screenshot of a document from an ISIS propaganda magazine that included a diagram of the human body depicting where to stab victims with a knife.
To commit the attacks, Chudhary ordered a number of items online, including tactical knife, a mask, gloves, and a cellphone chest and head strap to record the attack in an effort to inspire other lone wolves.
Chudhary allegedly told one undercover agent he wanted to use a knife for the attack "because that’s what he knows," but would be open to learning how to build a bomb if the undercover agent could teach him. That done, he would consider using a bomb at a "mini-bridge over a busy road with many cars," according to the Justice Department.
Goodness. Yet another jihadi-mad idiot who relied on his new BFF, the FBI informant. A good thing they got him off the street before he hooked up with those who would have turned him into a real weapon.

It's an economic and practical solution in a territory blockaded by Israel for 15 years, but one which poses serious environmental and health risks, experts say. Standing before rusty metal machinery and fuel containers, Mahmoud al-Kafarneh described how he and his brothers came up with their plastic recycling project.
"We started experimenting to implement the project in 2018, through searching the internet," he told AFP, at the site in the Jabalia area of northern Gaza.
"We failed a few times; after eight months we succeeded in extracting the fuel."
The distilling setup features a series of crude-looking tanks and connecting pipes set up outside on the dirt.
The process starts with the burning of wood in a furnace below a large mud-covered tank holding up to 1.5 tons (tons) of shredded plastic. When the plastic melts, the vapors flow through a pipe into a water tank where they cool and drip as fuel into containers, ready to be sold.
Black-grey smoke pours from several pipes extending above the furnace and the tank holding the plastic.
Only a few of the workers wear face masks and gloves as they melt bagfuls of shredded plastic. Their clothing is stained black.
Kafarneh said no-one has experienced health problems since starting work at the site, which sits beside olive trees and away from residential buildings.
"We follow all safety procedures at work", he said.
But Ahmed Hillis, director of Gaza's National Institute for the Environment and Development, fears an environmental catastrophe from this unregulated industry.
"The method used is rudimentary and very harmful to the workers," mainly because they inhale toxic fumes, he told AFP.
Burning plastic releases dioxins, mercury and other toxic gases which pose "a threat to vegetation, human and animal health", according to the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... Environment Program.
Hillis adds another danger of burning plastic, which is derived from petroleum hydrocarbons.
The tank is "a time bomb because it could explode" from the heat, he says.
