[Guns America] A man was shot and killed at a Las Vegas gun range last month after he tried to rob one of the range patrons and attacked police officers responding to the scene.
The man was shot and killed by one of the responding officers as well as three gun range employees after he started stabbing an officer with a screwdriver. The man had a history of assaulting police officers, according to local media.
"It didn’t seem like they wanted to get involved but when they saw what occurred, that’s when they took action," Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Assistant Sheriff Brett Zimmerman said at a press conference, referring to the gun range employees. "Their training and tactics were along the lines of our officers, they saw the same threat, our officer fired and they fired."
Video from the incident shows Marvon Peyton, Jr., 27, rifling through a bag belonging to a man who was a student at one of the range’s gun classes. Peyton had entered during a class break, and the bag contained the man’s firearm, according to Zimmerman.

"White people" — I bet you never saw that coming, especially from an Asian-American doctor. But seriously, what "system of white supremacy" is he talking about? Can he even define it? No, because there is no such thing. This tweet sounds like something that might’ve been written back in the dark days of segregation in the Democratic South, because it sounds like lunacy to say it about now.
And note that he’s not just blaming the ’system of white supremacy’, he’s actually blaming White people in power for dividing people. Huh? So he’s saying white people are behind the hatred some blacks have of Asian Americans? Can he define how that works too? No, because he’s just spewing drivel and making generalities, none of which he can put any substance too.
But what’s even worse is that Dr. Gu is basically suggesting that blacks aren’t responsible for themselves. Just look at some of the tweet responses he got:

[LOSANGELES.CBSLOCAL] A shooting at a business park in the city of Orange that left four people dead — including a 9-year-old boy — was not a random act of violence, police said Thursday.
The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening on the second floor of the office building at 202 West Lincoln Avenue.
In addition to the four victims, another woman was hospitalized at death's door.
In a media briefing Thursday, a police spokesperson said officers had a difficult time entering the business park because both gates had been locked from the inside.
District Attorney Todd Spitzer said officers maimed the suspect in the courtyard, where the dear departed 9-year-old boy was found, along with one of the adult female victims, who officials believe to be the boy’s mother. It’s unclear whether the suspect fired his weapon at officers.
They also confirmed that all the victims knew the suspect — identified as 44-year-old Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez — through business or personal relationship.
The shooting happened at two business suites belonging to Unified Homes, a real estate business.
A woman who says she’s a family member of one of the victims says that Gonzalez was at one point married to an agent who left the business two years ago, according to CBSLA’s Rick Montanez.
Gonzalez was also maimed in the shootout, but it’s unclear if he was shot by police or if the wounds were self-inflicted. He’s also hospitalized at death's door.
Investigators still don’t have any information on why Gonzalez wanted to attack the victims.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Former Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri died on Wednesday at the age of 88.
Ganzouri served as prime minister during the tenure of late President Hosni Mubarak ...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011... and was appointed by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) for the same position to lead a transitional government after the January 25 Revolution.
"Egypt today lost a unique statesman," President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said in his eulogy to Ganzouri.
"He was a righteous person in Egypt, loyal to its territories and its people," the president said, hailing the former premier’s vision, excellent leadership skills, and good manners.
"Ganzouri was devout, honest, and loyal in fateful and decisive stages of this homeland's history," he continued.
The cabinet also hailed the late politician’s patriotic role in serving the government for many years, including during two premierships, and described him as a role model.
Ganzouri had used his long experience, especially in economics, for the benefit of his country, the cabinet added.
He was born in 1933 in Bagour city in Menoufia governorate. An economist by training, he earned a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
He served as the deputy prime minister to Mubarak from 1986 until 1996 and then became prime minister from 1996 to 1999.
He served in the role for less than a year, resigning from the post in June 2012 after the election of Mohammed Morsi as a president.
Ganzouri started the Toshka project but was faced with criticism. In his diary published in 2014, he accused officials, including Mubarak, of hindering the completion of the project.
[Cleveland] CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Indians fans will not be able to paint their faces in Native American fashion or wear headdresses to games at Progressive Field this season, according to a new team policy.
The no-tolerance policy also involves abusive or inappropriate language or conduct deemed disorderly or disruptive, and that includes "inappropriate dress." The team says fans could be ejected or refused admission.
Restricted attire includes headdresses and face paint that references American Indian cultures and traditions. Inappropriate or offensive images, words, dress or face paint must be covered or removed. The prohibition extends to solicitation of contributions and distribution of literature at Progressive Field.
The policy does not extend to the Chief Wahoo logo on attire, said Curtis Danburg, vice president of communications and community impact. And face paint with other messages — like an image of Slider or a player’s jersey number — is OK.
Essentially, the policy appears to be akin to restaurants posting ’No shirt, no shoes, no service’ guidelines.
The team already has done away with Chief Wahoo logos on uniforms, and last year announced a prospective move away from the name "Indians."
The controversy regarding Native Americans and sports fans has been one of the most divisive topics in sports in recent years. Some see the wearing of headdresses, the nicknames and certain chants in stadiums as mimicry, disrespectful, and demeaning of historical culture. Others see it simply as an expressive way to cheer for their team, an unharmful tradition and an unnecessary application of political correctness.
For years in Cleveland, Opening Day showdowns outside Progressive Field were common between Native Americans and supporters facing off with fans adorned with Wahoo apparel. The controversy over nicknames regarding Native Americans is not endemic to Cleveland, though.
Last year, both the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks banned face paint and headdresses — though the hockey team’s main jersey logo continues to be the profile of a headdress-wearing Indian. After years of pressure, the Washington Redskins did away with their nickname, opting for the "Washington Football Team" starting last season.

During Wednesday's hearing, Claudine Dushimimana, a National Prosecutor, mentioned that during interrogations, Rusesabagina admitted sending a total of $20,000 to FLN, adding that, there were also other sums of money that would be collected through fundraisings organized by MRCD and contributions by members of the coalition.
