[Garowe] Florence Mwende Musau -a Kenyan citizen living in the US is among the five others who were charged in connection with their roles in online scams that are alleged to have collectively defrauded victims of more than $4 million.
Musau who resides in Boston was on Tuesday fined $957,000 for her role in a fraud conspiracy involving romance scams targeting individuals in the United States. The 38-year-old pleaded guilty in a federal court in Boston in 2021.
According to the US authorities, the group used fake passports and numerous aliases to open bank accounts in and around Boston to collect and launder the proceeds of the romance scams.
The court documents reveal that Musau has participated in a series of online scams designed to defraud victims into sending money to bank accounts controlled by her and others.
Musau was the criminal mastermind of the whole scam game where she used fake passports in the names of numerous aliases to open bank accounts in and around Boston to collect and launder the proceeds of the romance scams.
She then executed large cash withdrawals from those accounts, often multiple times on a single day and generally structured in amounts less than $10,000, in an effort to evade detection and currency transaction reporting requirements.
Mark Arome Okuo, a Nigerian national was also among the African charged in the love affair scam.

The accounts were also used to collect fraudulent pandemic unemployment benefits in the names of Massachusetts beneficiaries who did not apply for such funds, federal prosecutors said.
More than $4 million in fraud proceeds was deposited into accounts allegedly controlled by the defendants.
Early last year, Okuo pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud. His sentence hearing was scheduled for March 29, 2023.
The US Department of Justice (DoJ) in a statement released on Wednesday said that Massachusetts Judge Allison Burroughs directed the Kenyan woman to pay $957,000 in restitution and sentenced her to 44 months in prison.
The court further slapped her with an additional 36 months of supervised release and ordered her to surrender money in her account as well as her car.
Okuo would allegedly meet women on dating sites and pretend to be a US Army soldier serving in the Middle East or Africa.
As the relationships developed, Okuo claimed that he needed the women to wire him money so that he could leave the military and return to the US to marry them, according to court documents.
In one case, a victim was said to have transferred $137,000 to bank accounts controlled by Okuo and Musau, thinking it would help her groom-to-be obtain his military retirement benefits early.
Musau, a graduate of the Technical University of Kenya (TUK), traveled to the US in 2018 on a tourist visa. She then acquired a work permit visa.
[Breitbart] Police discovered an unidentified 4-year-old migrant child wandering the downtown streets Monday. An officer who first spotted the child says he was only able to provide his age by lifting four fingers when questioned. The child described to the officer how he was left alone in a commonly used local stash house.
According to a police report reviewed by Breitbart Texas, the boy was discovered wandering a street several blocks from the Rio Grande wearing a gray and maroon hoodie. Between sobs, he could only provide a first name, Eric. The boy told officers he was from Mexico and was waiting for his mother to arrive.
When officers asked the boy where he was coming from, the boy pointed to a boarded-up home on Jefferson Street. Officers searched the house known to officers as a stash spot. There were no people inside the home. The boy, visibly shaken, was able to tell officers he was brought across the Rio Grande by an unknown man. The boy said he was left alone at the home and later managed to climb from a window to escape.
The boy was not in possession of any identity documents or other information needed to locate family, according to the report. Ultimately, the boy was turned over to Border Patrol for processing and transfer to the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
According to HHS, Eric was one of 243 unaccompanied minor children apprehended along the border on Monday. The child will be taken to an HHS facility where the agency will work to identify him and locate sponsors in the United States. At present, the department is housing 7,743 unaccompanied children in the process of releases to domestic sponsors.
In a revolving door-like system, nearly 200 unaccompanied migrant children were released from the agency to sponsors on Monday. In all, more than 320,000 unaccompanied migrant children have been encountered along the southwest border since President Joe Biden assumed office. In the previous year, less than 35,000 were encountered by the Border Patrol.
According to a source within CBP, in many cases, parents send their migrant children into the United States knowing they will be released to relatives. The source told Breitbart Texas parents will cross the border at a later date and claim the migrant child, hoping to gain release and family reunification.
The unaccompanied migrant children have been precariously placed in dangerous situations by human smugglers with seemingly little regard for their safety. As reported by Breitbart Texas, one smuggler led authorities on a high speed vehicle chase at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour with a migrant child locked in the trunk. Luckily, the child was unharmed.

ISLAMABAD, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Pakistani former President Pervez Musharraf died on Sunday following a prolonged illness at a hospital in Dubai, after years in self-imposed exile.
Pakistan's military and the country's mission in the United Arab Emirates announced the death of the former army chief, 79, who was pushed from power in 2008.
"I can confirm that he passed away this morning," Shazia Siraj, spokesperson for Pakistan's consulate in Dubai and embassy in Abu Dhabi, told Reuters.
The chiefs of Pakistan's army, navy and air force expressed condolences on his death, the public relations wing of the military said.
The former four-star general, who seized power in a bloodless coup in 1999, oversaw rapid economic growth and attempted to usher in socially liberal values in the conservative Muslim country.

So, the Seals and FBI HRT are in the area. They do joint exercises there yearly. They do training exercises in LA as well. We have been doing them since the early 90's. This all take the misconception that the military just sits in the fort waiting, and not training in the nation they are supposed to defend.

...A couple times since we've been here, USMC has done urban training in Columbia - we have a huge park in the center of town that's perfect for helo landings, and the crowd absolutely love it.

The Sierra Nevada snowpack, which is measured at Phillips Station near South Lake Tahoe, was measured at 205 percent of the historical average for the year on Feb. 1, following three of the wettest weeks California has had in years, according to officials.
It additionally has risen 20 percent more than when it was measured last month.
"Our snowpack is off to an incredible start. And it’s exactly what California needs to really help break from our ongoing drought," said Sean de Guzman, manager of snow surveys and water supply forecasting with the California Department of Water Resources.
He noted, however, that some of the state’s largest reservoirs are still lacking water.

[An Nahar] The United States on Saturday downed a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the Carolina coast after it traversed sensitive military sites across North America and became the latest flashpoint in tensions between Washington and Beijing.
An operation was underway in U.S. territorial waters in the Atlantic Ocean to recover debris from the balloon, which had been flying at about 60,000 feet and was estimated to be about the size of three school buses.

Television footage showed a small explosion, followed by the balloon descending toward the water. U.S. military jets were seen flying in the vicinity and ships were deployed in the water to mount the recovery operation.
Officials were aiming to time the operation so they could recover as much of the debris as possible before it sinks into the ocean. The Pentagon had previously estimated that any debris field would be substantial. That's just dumb. It's a balloon.
The balloon was spotted Saturday morning over the Carolinas as it approached the coast. In preparation for the operation, the FAA Administration temporarily closed airspace over the Carolina coastline, including the airports in Charleston and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Wilmington, North Carolina. The FAA rerouted air traffic from the area and warned of delays as a result of the flight restrictions.
The Coast Guard advised mariners to immediately leave the area because of U.S. military operations "that present a significant hazard."
Biden had been inclined to down the balloon over land when he was first briefed on it on Tuesday, but Pentagon officials advised against it, warning that the potential risk to people on the ground outweighed the assessment of potential Chinese intelligence gains.

Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) said in a statement that starting July 1, psychiatrists may prescribe MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine), commonly called "Molly" or "ecstasy" by recreational users, to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and psilocybin—the psychedelic prodrug compound in "magic" mushrooms—for treatment-resistant depression.
"These are the only conditions where there is currently sufficient evidence for potential benefits in certain patients," TGA said, adding that the drugs must be taken "in a controlled medical setting."
Advocates of MDMA and psilocybin are hopeful that one day doctors could prescribe them to treat a range of conditions, from alcoholism and eating disorders to obsessive-compulsive disorder.
David Caldicott, a clinical senior lecturer in emergency medicine at Australian National University, toldThe Guardian that Friday's surprise announcement is a "very welcome step away from what has been decades of demonization."
Caldicott said it is now "abundantly clear” that both MDMA and psilocybin "can have dramatic effects" on hard-to-treat mental health problems, and that "in addition to a clear and evolving therapeutic benefit, [legalization] also offers the chance to catch up on the decades of lost opportunity [of] delving into the inner workings of the human mind, abandoned for so long as part of an ill-conceived, ideological 'war on drugs.'"
MDMA—which has been criminalized in Australia since 1987—was first patented by German drugmaker Merck in the early 1910s. After World War II the United States military explored possibilities for weaponizing MDMA as a truth serum as part of the MK-ULTRA mind control experiments aimed at creating real-life Manchurian candidates. Patients who've tried MDMA therapy and those who treat them say otherwise. A study published last year by John Hopkins Health found that in a carefully controlled setting, psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy held promise for "significant and durable improvements in depression."
The California-based Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)—the world's premier organization for psychedelic advocacy and research—latest clinical research on MDMA—which is aimed at winning FDA approval—is currently in phase three trials. The Biden administration said last year that it "anticipates" MDMA and psilocybin would be approved by the FDA by 2024 and is "exploring the prospect of establishing a federal task force to monitor" therapeutic possibilities of both drugs.
Like MDMA, psilocybin—which occurs naturally in hundreds of fungal species and has been used by humans for medicinal, spiritual, and recreational purposes for millennia—remains illegal at the federal level in the U.S., although several states and municipalities have legalized or decriminalized psychedelic mushrooms, or have moved to do so.
There have also been bipartisan congressional efforts to allow patients access to both drugs. Legislation introduced last year by U.S. Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) would permit therapeutic use of certain Schedule I drugs for terminally ill patients. Meanwhile, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) passed amendments to the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act providing more funding for psychedelic research and making it easier for veterans and active-duty troops suffering from PTSD to try drug-based treatments.

I like that people will have access to these substances, but I dislike the idea of turning them into 'drugs' administered by the state and/or health system.

In an undercover video released by Project Veritas, he discusses the possibility that hitherto unknown aspects of mRNA technology in the COVID-19 vaccine could affect women’s hormonal and menstrual cycles.
Dr. Walker said, "There is something irregular about the menstrual cycles. So, people will have to investigate that down the line."
"The [COVID-19] vaccine shouldn’t be interfering with that [menstrual cycles]. So, we don’t really know," he said.
He also said in the video, "I hope we don’t find out that somehow this mRNA lingers in the body and like — because it has to be affecting something hormonal to impact menstrual cycles."

And folks, we knew this the first week the COVID shot came out, but those raising the flag were called conspiracy nuts... Unfortunately the people that took the shot are getting what they asked for. They blindly followed, allowed for peer pressure and intimidation, and eventually poisoned their kids and themselves. I pray for our youth, because their parents took them to get the poison.

They knew the covid-19 vaccine affected women’s hormonal and menstrual cycles early on. Now they are thinking the mRNA is passed on to the children born to the vaccinated.

How about we don’t fund gain of functions experimentation anywhere. Funding biowarfare development in CCP labs or doing dangerous research in the failed state of Ukraine so that Hunter can make bank - neither idea is a good one. Exporting stupidity does not make the research worthwhile.
