Muslim Europe: the demographic time bomb transforming our continent

#1  Birth control, put something in the mutton, and I don't just means those controlling these policies. I seem to recall it working re the pigeon, (flying rat), problem in Londonistan a while back.

#2  Cut them off the dole, and the birth rate will fall to the number of children they can actually more or less afford to feed and clothe.

#3  Sorry TW but this time you're wrong, they'll still have just as many children just a much higher infant mortality rate, and huge gang membership increase.

If they can't get it from the govt, they'll just steal it.

A fifth of European Union will be Muslim by 2050
Last year, five per cent of the total population of the 27 EU countries was Muslim. But rising levels of immigration from Muslim countries and low birth rates among Europe's indigenous population mean that, by 2050, the figure will be 20 per cent, according to forecasts.

Data gathered from various sources indicate that Britain, Spain and Holland will have an even higher proportion of Muslims in a shorter amount of time.

The UK, which currently has 20 million fewer people than Germany, is also projected to be the EU's most populous country by 2060, with 77 million people.

The findings have led to allegations that policy-makers are failing to confront the widespread challenges of the "demographic time bomb".

Experts say that there has been a lack of debate on how the population changes will affect areas of life from education and housing to foreign policy and pensions.

Although some polls have pointed to a lack of radicalisation in the Muslim community, little attention is being given to the integration of migrants, it is claimed, with fears of social unrest in years to come.

Great White North
Are They Running Scared?
I found this via Free Republic

A taste from TFA:

Americans weren't supposed to be that smart. After all, hasn't government been dumbing down the American people for a hundred years? But talk about mis-reading the tea leaves. Obama, Pelosi and Reid have stirred up a hornets nest and in desperation they are resorting to name calling and tattle tailing to stem the tide. It isn't going to work. Americans are slow to rile, but when they do, nothing will stop them until their appetite for their perception of justice has been satisfied. What a glorious sight it is to behold.

#1  I wish people wpuld get over wishful thinking. A majority of Americans supported obama and just wouldn't consider he could be less than he appeared. I haven't seen many of his supporters change their mind. They still support a man who can speak out multiple sides of his mouth at the same time.

#2  Maybe ... but I think the tide is turning. I have a regular blog at Open Salon, which is not quite as rabidly leftist as, say, the HuffPo, and I do not post my really overtly political stuff there, since I intend to use that venue more for books and cultural stuff ... but I am gratified lately with how many thoughtful OS regulars are also disturbed by the current actions. Any more bone-headed, nakedly fascistic moves by the Great O, and there will be a positive stampede by all but the hard-core lefties. I posted on this particular thread yesterday (my comments are way at the bottom)and not only got some support in the thread from fairly reasonable OS members- but also a number of private messages.
No, the mask is slipping, especially after those various town-hall meetings where tea-party types were roughed up by union goons. And that White House sponsored website to nark out your friends for passing on unfavorable opinions about Obamacare? That really went down like a cup of cold sick ... with others besides conservatives.
The crack-up is coming, and it's gonna be spectacular.

#6  Obama's approval ratings have actually IMPROVED over the past week at Rasmussen. So if he sees his poll numbers climbing with this sort of action, he is only going to take more of it.

#7  A majority of Americans supported obama and just wouldn't consider he could be less than he appeared.

A majority? Only by the slimmest of margins. Outside of the hard-core-left, most people that voted for O'Bumble, did so for a myriad of reasons ranging from:
*Gee, wouldn't it be cool to vote for a black guy.
* To name your idiotic reason here.

I know, I work with a bunch of them. Also, outside the aforementioned hard-core-left, most of the idiots that voted for 0 voted for the smooth talking huckster that beguiled them with his snake oil. Now that the mask is off and he has revealed himself for he really is, what we all here knew him to be, these people are horrified at what they have done.

I know, I work with a bunch of them. And every single one of them minus the few True Believers® are in shock at what they have wrought. Oddly enough, or, maybe not, they're the ones that are the most vehement that he should go and/or be stopped. Funny, huh?

I enjoy twisting the knife in their wound, as I told them all until they were sick of hearing it, just what was going to happen. The only thing I was off on was the rapidity with which he would move. Haste and hubris, it's a killer.

#8  You can discover exactly how bad the reaction to O'Bumble is by watching the comments on some of the right-wing websites. The degree of Kossism is up steeply, and many of the DU and Kos kiddies are literally SCREAMING their insults at anyone who badmouths "their" "president". They're worried, and are doing everything they can to stop the slide. The more they screech, the louder they yell, the more opposition to them increases. OBumble is toast. I once again state unequivocally that he will not finish his term, either for "health" reasons, or because he's been ridden out of town on a rail, covered with tar and feathers. He has already done serious damage to race relations, the military, and common sense. Destroying our current health care system will be the final straw.

#10  I once again state unequivocally that he will not finish his term, either for "health" reasons, or because he's been ridden out of town on a rail, covered with tar and feathers.

I agree, he won't finish his term. However, I think the Puppet Masters will decide that their puppet has become a liability to their goals, and that he would better suit those goals as a martyr.

So, the puppets strings will be cut and an attempt will be made to lay the blame at the feet of the conservative Right.

We’re redefining “arrogant” here.
The Anchoress

I find it breathtaking. The man is supposed to be the leader of the country, the president of ALL the people, not just the ones who agree with him, and he’s basically over half the nation to just shut up and fall in line.

In fact, the president and his White House have been so irresponsible this week, what with their, “punch back twice as hard” nonsense (good going, there, chief) and so blatantly authoritarian with their “tell us about dissent in casual conversation” that I begin to wonder if we are not being deliberately baited by our president – if he is not trying to cause a commotion in his own country? Okay, I’m going to say it; he’s either the stupidest and most incompetent president, or the most tyrannically-disposed egoist, ever to hold the office. And, umm…I don’t think he’s stupid.

We’re redefining “arrogant,” here.

#1  " he’s either the stupidest and most incompetent president, or the most tyrannically-disposed egoist, ever to hold the office"

I hate to point this out, but those two propositions are NOT mutually exclusive.
I know that he is the second, I pray that he is also the first.

#2  Ego has to be a big, big part of this.

David Axelrod is a smart guy (really). He should be able to cut through all the hype and hoopla, and as a political insider understand one fact perfectly well:

46% of the country voted for a cranky old man and a backwoods babe.

Doesn't matter how you dress it up. He had the dream candidate and all the political stars lined up in his favor, and he got the election for his man. With 53% of the vote.

Axelrod has to be smart enough to understand that such a margin isn't sustainable if The One now alienates a big chunk of the country. There are a lot of moderate, middle of the road voters -- Dems, Pubs, and Indies -- who voted for the Cool Cat in '08 but won't feel obligated to do so again.

Can't remember who originally said this, but it appears to be true:

The party in power over time becomes arrogant.

The party out of power over time becomes insane.

The Dems are rushing to arrogance. Axelrod has to be smart enough to understand how that story ends.
Posted by: Steve White || 08/08/2009 13:05 Comments || Top||

#3  Steve - amnesty and citizenship for, say, the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants currently in the US would shift that margin in the electorate significantly. Axelrod may think he has a lock on those new votes via Obamacare etc. Especially if you add in all the new government employees they're adding to the ranks.

#5  What happens over the next 15-18 months will be telling. One thing I see is a backlash against unions. The SEIU has made itself the poster-boy of thuggery. The amount of hate built up against the teachers' unions, the Teamsters, the United Automobile Workers, and dozens of others will reach fever pitch, especially as Americans see how they have been manipulated with the GM and Chrysler "bailouts". The one absolute about the American voter is they hate to be manipulated. We have seen the Obumble administration do everything it can to manipulate the American people. The backlash is growing, and when it erupts, it will be extremely bloody (literally), down to the local level.

We Are Now At War
from Michelle Malkin

In May, I told you how the Service Employees International Union's $61 million investment in Barack Obama paid off with cabinet appointments, executive orders, key personnel slots, and legislative goodies.

Now, the SEIU thugs are looking out for The Boss. In Tampa, Florida and St. Louis today, the Purple People turned out to give cover to members of Congress targeted by Tea Party activists and town hall protesters. For the first time, the town hall protests were marked by physical aggression. More on the St. Louis arrests of confrontational Obamacare activists here. (Just like Obama wanted: "In your face.") This is no coincidence.

I'm excerpting a portion of my Culture of Corruption chapter on the SEIU. This is what you are up against.
***
EXCERPTED FROM Chapter 7, "SEIU: Look for the union label," Culture of Corruption

"The persuasion of power"

Asked about his organizing philosophy, Andy Stern summed it up this way: "[W]e prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn't work we use the persuasion of power."

Stern and his shock troops have bullied companies from private equity firms to Burger King to food management company Aramark, who have resisted SEIU's attempts to organize their workers. The Purple People have organized aggressive protests and a "War on Greed" campaign to pound the employers into submission. One of the besieged targets, security provider Wackenhut Services, battled SEIU's attempts to gain exclusive representation for its employees. The company already has ten other unions representing its workers. Initially unbowed by a massive, malicious negative publicity campaign against them, Wackenhut blew the whistle:...
They are now fighting to stand between Americans and their Representatives in Washington. To keep America "with the new program". Fight back three times a hard people.

#6  This has all gotten very interesting. The 0 administration and the Dems have grossly overplayed their hand with the American people here. In choosing to "punch back twice as hard," they have made a serious miscalculation. No reasonable American likes to see their government attempt to quash dissent and in such a cavalier manner (as has become the norm with the current administration and congress). Not once did Bush tell his detractors to quiet down or "stop talkking." He took all the venom and vitriol thrown at him with a smile and a nod (which made them hate him even more) because he understood that all citizens have a sacred right to express their opinion openly, whether they agreed with him or not. Can you imagine if the Bush administration had requested that supporters notify them when they came across something "fishy"? The outrage from all corners would be cacophonous and rightfully so.

"Those whom the Gods wish to destroy, they first make proud."

#7  I said, back before Obumble was sworn in, that as long as he obeyed the Constitution he was "my president also". Obumble is no longer MY "president". I will wage open war against this president with my words, as the Constitution gives me that right, and will support all others that do the same. Should the "Obumble president" attempt to wage war against me, personally, in any way, I shall return the "favor".

I'm trained in the use of weapons, and in small-unit engagements. Obumble is a "community organizer".

I'm trained in espionage, sabotage, and subversion, as the military teaches it. Obumble is also trained in espionage, sabotage, and subversion, but his version is in the guise of "community organizer" as an affiliate of ACORN.

I've been trained in unconventional warfare and the ability to recognize any object as a potential weapon. Obumble is afraid of weapons, especiall sharp-edged ones.

I don't keep a gun in my house. I've got a small child, and besides, they make loud noises. I do sleep with an axehandle by my bed, and know how to use it quite effectively. I HOPE Obumble isn't so stupid to encourage one of his cronies or union thugs to crawl through my window. If they do, I hope they have an up-to-date will.

I am NOT alone, or even in a small minority.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Stop the Madness
an excellent column - this guy gets it and teh Donks don't. The first fatality of this "discussion" will be 4x the Ohio 4 reaction, because it will be a WW2 vet beaten down by an SEIU thug.

Every so often the leftish bent of the news media causes its fellow members of the Democratic Party to believe their own bullroar. Their own talking points are echoing from all their trusted news sources. This can put Democrats, especially Democratic Party office holders, into a kind of frenzy not unlike that of a dog chasing its own tail. They come to believe that they are on a sacred mission doing the people’s work, and that they are proceeding to great acclaim. Faster and faster they must run.

Once this phenomenon starts, the Democrats almost never escape before they do something profoundly stupid. And sometimes, profoundly harmful as well.

This is going to be one of those times. Stupid, and harmful, in great measure.

Many Democrats, including many editors and reporters, have come to believe that hundreds of middle-aged and older people — people with incomes and lives, and plenty else to do — have taken part-time jobs as rent-a-mobs to shill for insurance companies, or the RNC, or somebody. They think this because that is how Democrats create similar events: they pay college students or homeless people to show up at a certain place at a certain time to wave signs and put on a display for their fellow Democrats in the media, who dutifully report that the citizenry is outraged at whatever the Democrats paid them to be outraged about.

Causing the same sort of outcome among conservatives is more like herding cats. Few conservatives need your money, at least not the sort of pittance that would motivate a student or a street person. Most of them would be insulted if you offered. Having tried to organize many of these things myself, I can tell you that if conservatives care about a cause, they will show up in their own car with their own sign ready to give ‘em Hell. If they don’t care about the cause, nothing is going to get them away from their quite rewarding lives.

For Democrats to imagine that the people showing up at Town Hall meetings to oppose the Democratic agenda on health care are paid shills is a shockingly stupid blunder. And for the media to echo it back to them, giving Democrats in power the idea that they can send union thugs to beat up paid shills, is going to get someone hurt. I know the sort of conservatives who go to things like this. These are the old ladies who chase armed burglars from their homes with broomsticks. They are WWII and Vietnam veterans who do not take lip from anyone. They cannot be intimidated, and they will defend themselves. In 38 states they can “carry,” and some of them do. A 70-year-old woman threatened or manhandled by some 250-pound ‘muscle’ can reasonably believe that her life is in danger. I shudder every time I think where these videos of union thugs “breaking knees for Obama” are going to take us.

We are at a fine pass in this country when one of our political parties believes that the next correct move for them is to send goons to rough up citizens who disagree with them. To all Democrats, I plead: this is a very bad idea. I mean a really bad idea. If you can’t get ordinary voters to show up at your events, go hire some students, or some homeless people to represent you. Leave the thugs at home.

And yes, the media will shrill it as a "right wing nut". But with lots of cameras and blogs to put the film on...
Posted by: DarthVader || 08/08/2009 22:50 Comments || Top||

#5  There is a fight coming, it is going to be ugly and people on both sides are going to be killed. The media is not on the side of the American people, so, that puts square in the camp of the enemy.

They will have to be treated as the enemy, this means they are a legitimate target. It will be necessary to brutalize these people into, if not neutrality, then silence. I have advocated for a long time that we borrow some pages from the Leftist playbook, namely: "By any means necessary, the end justifies the means!".

And it does. You cannot fight the sort of enemy that we are up against by allowing yourself to be hamstrung by artificial rules. Especially when they have had decades to prepare the battlefield. When the violence begins in earnest we must take it to them hard, sustained and without mercy. To Hell with the media, take it to them as well. I have hardened my heart and soul along with my resolve that we will need to be vicious, more so even than they are. Either accept this or perish.
