I wouldn't be surprised about a 1000-pound hog, but I do think that it's rather strange that the only evidence left is this photo. Somebody should have some teeth, there should be a skull left, and there should be some other evidence.
Three men netted an Alligator Gar in the Atchafalaya River in 1954 in Louisiana that was 16 feet long, and weighed amost 1300 pounds. There wasn't much evidence of the gar a year later, except for some scales - amost eight inches across. Still, there was some physical evidence, as well as photos. Hopefully someone has some physical evidence of this, and will come forward with it, or the whole thing will die a deserved death, true or not.

this is not very believable...if they buried it then dig it up and give the carcas/bones to the local museum....but it will not happen since it is a fake

I have seen a hog that was 820 pounds but it was domestic. It was around 8 feet long and was a boar used for stud services. I don't doubt, comming from South Alabama, there could have been one that big in the wild. A wild hog is something you don't want to come up on in the woods. Be sure to take some one with you 'cause you only have to run faster than them. I dated a lady for a while who killed a wild hog with a bowie knife. Good woman.

Oh, shipman. If I were not at work...the comments I would make!
Two men who were arrested for walking through a Wal-Mart while wearing women's thong underwear blamed the stunt on a "triple-dog dare," authorities said. The men, ages 35 and 36, bought two pair of underwear at the store Tuesday, went into a bathroom and came out wearing only the thongs and T-shirts, police said. Witnesses said the men walked through the store and out to their car. Police caught the men in the parking lot, and reviewed a surveillance tape before arresting them for public indecency and disorderly conduct. When asked why they were wearing thong underwear, one of the men said a friend "triple-dog dared" them. They will not be prosecuted, authorities said. As a perceptive commenter said on another post a couple of weeks ago, I would imagine the words preceding this event were "Here, hold my beer."
"Triple dog dare" means y'gotta do it, no backing out. That's how I got married the last time...

Circa 2/13/04 Magnolia, Arkansas-AP -- A Wal-Mart cashier thought there was something suspicious about a customer at an Arkansas store. It may have been the handcuffs he was wearing. It may have been the bolt cutters he was buying. It may have been the hour -- 4:30 in the morning. The clerk called police after completing the sale. Officers caught the man, just minutes later. It turned out he'd been arrested in Louisiana the night before, but kicked out a window in a police car and fled.

My co-workers double-dog-dared me to wear my kilt to work. That was easy. One person asked me were those my legs or was I riding a chicken.I wouldn't look good in a thong, though.

A local jirga has decided to kill a woman's two husbands one whom she married for love, and the other whom her father forced her to marry without divorcing the first.
Seems like if they were going to bump off anyone it would be Pop...
Teenaged Kiran had previously rebelled against the same jirga when it wanted to return her to a husband selected by the toss of a coin.
"Tails! The guy with the green turban gets her! Next case!"
Kiran told Daily Times it was customary to bring potential marriage proposals to the jirga that often decided a woman's fate by tossing a coin in a difficult decision. When this happened to her, she refused to accept the jirga's decision and instead married a young man, called Naseem, whom she loved.

However, Kiran said her father, Abdul Lateef, later forced her to marry a man named Muhammad Boota. The fact that she was already married did not make any difference to him, she said. After torture and threats to her life, Kiran said she agreed to marry Boota without even getting divorced.
"Abdul! What're you doing with our daughter! Put those pliers down!"
"Buzz off, woman! We're discussing her love life!"
The case of the concurrent marriages was then brought to the jirga, which concluded that both husbands had violated Hudood laws. Therefore, it was held that the culprits be awarded capital punishment. Both husbands are reportedly at large.
"You can have her! I'm gettin' outta here!"
"I'll go with you!"
The jirga decision, however, did not fare that well with the community. Most local imams condemned it in their sermons, and angry conversations have gone on endlessly at every street corner. People thought the jirga had gone beyond the guidelines prescribed by both religion and the law of the land. Local MP Gulshan Riaz Malik demanded the government arrest the members of the jirga for conspiracy to murder. Civil society representatives and other community leaders were prominent among others who were vocal about their resentment with the jirga's decision.
