25 cases of beer and 150 bottles of booze slated for execution by bowling ball
Also see Michael Graham's petition for clemency at Save our Suds
Beverage control agency holding one usual booze bash
The booze will be flowing tomorrow at a state agency, but nobody will be drinking it. State Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission inspectors are set to destroy some 25 cases of beer and 150 bottles of liquor confiscated in Operation Safe Campus, a sting operation that targeted bars and package stores serving underage college students.

Destroying the alcohol will “involve something with a bowling ball,” according to a spokeswoman for state Treasurer Tim Cahill, who oversees the ABCC.

During Operation Safe Campus, investigators turned up 420 minors in possession of, transporting or attempting to buy alcohol; 195 adults buying booze for minors; and 40 kids with fake IDs.

The liquid contraband will be loaded on trucks in Boston tomorrow morning and be hauled to an as-yet-undisclosed location in Lakeville for the smash-down.

No minors or adults purchasing for them were arrested during the sting operation. The minors lost the booze, naturally, and a phone call was placed to their parents or guardians.

In a similar operation targeting college kids in September 2005, the ABCC caught 31 minors and 14 adults purchasing for them over a two-day period in Boston.

The ABCC oversees all 21,000 businesses and groups that hold licenses or permits to serve or sell alcohol. Since 1994, the agency has used undercover sting operations to address the problem of underage drinking.

The stings are conducted with the help of local police, and ABCC officials note that the undercover operations have consistently withstood legal challenges. The legal drinking age in Massachusetts is 21.

Nationwide Operation FALCON nets 6,400 fugitives
More than 6,400 sex offenders, gang members and other fugitives were arrested in a series of law enforcement operations conducted throughout the United States, top Justice Department officials announced Wednesday. Acting Deputy Attorney General Craig Morford, center, discusses Operation FALCON Wednesday in Washington.

Led by the U.S. Marshals Service, teams of federal agents and local police over the past four months scoured 27 cities in 22 states to round up fugitives police described as some of the most dangerous. Authorities said 542 sex offenders, 300 gang members and 73 murder suspects were among those captured. The first of the raids took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in June, and the last of them ended in Philadelphia in September.

The coordinated effort marked the fourth installment of what the Marshals Service calls Operation FALCON, featuring cooperation between federal and local authorities. "This cooperative effort has made our communities safer and promotes future cooperative efforts by law enforcement agencies at every level of government," Acting Deputy Attorney General Craig Morford said in a statement.

"Our actions have spared families, friends and entire communities the anguish of becoming victims at the hands of these repeat offenders," said Director John Clark of the U.S. Marshals Service. Clark said there are more than 1 million individuals with outstanding warrants in the United States.

#1  Six feet of dirt has shown remarkable success in stopping repeat offenders. Now tell me again why a 'modern' society believes the good contrastive contributory members of its communities are suppose to be expendable over those who by their own actions demonstrate that they don't give a frig about their fellow man. We not talking about 'reasonable doubt', we're talking clear unquestionable facts in each case of termination.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Tonight's Local News: Woman takes out newspaper ad to sell breast milk
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A woman who doesn't want her breast milk to go to waste has taken out a newspaper ad in hopes of selling it.
She has to take out ads?
22-year-old Martha Heller of Tiffin, took out the ad in The Gazette, offering 100 ounces of her breast milk for $200 or the best offer.
Where is that Visa card...
Heller says her freezer is overflowing with breast milk that she's pumped since August. Her 4-month-old daughter won't drink from a bottle and the supply is piling up.
If she needs help stacking the freezer...
Experts say breast milk can generally be stored in a freezer for up to six months.
Stock up now for those cold winter hot chocolates
Don McCormick is with the Iowa Department of Public Health. He says he isn't aware of laws in Iowa restricting the sale of breast milk, but state health officials advise against it.
Sounds safe to me :)

DNR To Wisconsin: Kill Pigs
MADISON, Wis. (AP) ¯ Death to the pigs!
In 1967, a lede like that would have been irrefutable evidence that the Weather Underground or Charles Manson had taken over the Associated Press. In the 21st century, however . . .

State wildlife and agriculture officials want hunters to shoot, skewer or otherwise summarily dispatch as many of the destructive, diseased porkers as possible this fall, and with plenty of prejudice.

"Shoot them on sight," implored Brad Koele, a state Department of Natural Resources wildlife damage specialist, in a statement to hunters this week.

Wisconsin has been battling the pigs since at least 2000. The DNR generally advises deer hunters to kill them every fall, but this year the agency and the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection have stepped up their campaign out of fears a pseudorabies outbreak might have been tied to wild pigs.

Ohio: A Challenge to the Muslim Marriage Decision
A woman plans to challenge Ohio's first court ruling involving a traditional Muslim marriage agreement.

The case could set a precedent about how such religious contracts are handled in the state.

The ruling says a groom does not have to pay his former wife the $25,000 he promised as part of a Muslim pre-marriage agreement - called a mahr - because the payment is part of a religious pact, not a legal contract.

The wife's lawyer says the ruling sets a dangerous precedent for Muslim women because the contract serves as a protection and safeguard for women who often marry young and do not earn salaries.

The decision was a departure from rulings in other states, which have enforced such contracts, similar to dowries.

#2  The ruling says a groom does not have to pay his former wife the $25,000 he promised as part of a Muslim pre-marriage agreement -

And this is different from a prenuptial agreement . . .how?

There's not enough detail in the story to tell how the court came up with its conclusion, but I've a feeling it'll be flipped on appeal.

#5  If it is a contract, it should be binding. Shouldn't matter whether it is Muslim, other religious, or civil. Even verbal contracts, with no lawyers involved, can be held binding. The key is whether both parties to the contract were capable of making an informed consent. THAT would be grounds for excluding such a Muslim contract.

Mystery of the vanishing sheep
Swiss police are investigating after a flock of 90 sheep vanished from a remote Alpine pasture - for the second time.

It is the second time in a year that the flock has vanished, leaving no traces of their whereabouts.

After the first time, farmer Silvano Bacciarini, from the Magadino plain in Tessin, had to buy entirely new animals.

A baffled police spokesman admitted: "The only way to the pasture is by a remote track - the sheep were not driven away as there was no foot prints, nor was a lorry driven to the meadow.

"Yet we searched by helicopter and there is no sign of the animals anywhere."

NARSINGDI, Oct 31: Two sub-inspectors of Narsingdi model thana ...

In the face of continued demonstration against police access, the Deputy Commissioner set up one-member judicial committee with magistrate Anup Kumar Talukdar to probe into the death of Morshed Rana (30) on Sunday.
When he's done send him to Chicago ...
Morshed, a transport worker hailing from Shahebprotap, was arrested Sunday evening suspecting his involvement in motorbike lifting.

Compromise reached on Muslim cemetery dispute in Glasgow
Residents opposing plans for a Muslim cemetery in their village hope a deal between Glasgow City Council and a farmer could resolve the row. People in Carmunnock are against the council's plan to allow Glasgow Central Mosque to create the 31-acre cemetery on the edge of their community.

Now the council is considering ending a long-standing tenancy on a 120-acre farm it owns and offering that site for the cemetery. The farmer would get the farmhouse, sheds and nine acres of land. Villagers and the Muslim community have indicated they will accept the compromise.

Protesters insist race is not a factor and they are concerned only about the loss of green belt land between Carmunnock and the rest of Glasgow.

Although the Muslim community will accept the new proposal, its members are still unhappy at the way they have been treated by villagers. Bashir Mann, convener of the Muslim Council of Scotland, said: "We are at the mercy of the council because it has the land and we will accept it. But if the council selects this plot then it is a victory for racism and a defeat for tolerance. When we said at a public meeting we would soon have nowhere to put our dead bodies someone said: why not Pakistan?'"

Tracey Crawford, spokeswoman for Carmunnock Community Council, said: "It does not impinge on the land around the village, which would preserve its green belt status, so it is an acceptable compromise."

Their deaths, my burden: Howard

PRIME Minister John Howard says he feels direct responsibility for the death of Australian soldiers. Mr Howard will attend a full military funeral in Perth today for Sergeant Matthew Locke, who was shot and killed by Taliban forces in Afghanistan last week.

"I think about it a lot because I'm the person in the end who sends men and women into battle," Mr Howard told Sky News. "I feel a very direct responsibility for any death or injury that occurs on the field of battle and it's the greatest burden that anybody has to carry and discharge.

"I feel deeply for his family and that’s why I want to be there to directly and personally express my sympathy and that of the Australian nation to Mrs Locke and her son Keegan and it’s a terrible loss for them and he was a wonderful soldier.

My Howard said he had met Sgt Locke previously. "He’s a member of a wonderful regiment in a great ADF that has the admiration of Australia and after this interview I won’t be doing anymore campaigning today," Mr Howard said.

"I will go to the funeral in Western Australia and that will be it."

Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd will also attend today's funeral.

Cronulla race rioter loses appeal over bashing
A JUDGE has cited photographs and TV footage in rejecting a man's appeal against his conviction for taking part in Sydney's 2005 Cronulla riots. Brent David Lohman, 20, was found guilty of one charge of riot in March this year after repeatedly punching Ali Hashimi in the head in a train carriage at Cronulla on December 11, 2005.

Lohman became one of the most recognisable figures of the racially-motivated riots after being photographed by the media draped in an Australian flag. In March, he was ordered to serve a minimum 11-month jail sentence but appealed the conviction and sentence, arguing he was a mere spectator who had tried to help his alleged victim.

In dismissing the conviction appeal today, Downing Centre District Court Judge Chris Geraghty said Lohman used "unlawful violence", "intended to use violence", and "was not defending himself" as his barrister had argued. "I thereby dismiss the appeal and uphold the conviction," the judge said.

He used media photographs, CCTV footage and witness statements to reach his decision. There was footage showing Lohman entering and leaving the train and hanging around Cronulla railway station for a short time after the violence. "He is dressed, as it seems, throughout the incident ... in a flag tied off his shoulders," Mr Geraghty said. "Dressing in a flag is a statement. Context is everything. If a young person is to wear a flag on ANZAC Day ... then it may be seen as an expression of patriotism.

"If one wears a flag at Cronulla amid a marauding crowd it does not have an (overtone) of patriotism ... it is a statement of solidarity, of identifying with the event that's taking place."

Lohman told police he was at Cronulla beach with mates swimming and surfing "the same as every other weekend". Lohman had consumed about five alcoholic drinks throughout the day before making his way to the railway station out of curiosity. "I did not go there to intentionally harm others ... I was merely a spectator who got caught up in the middle of it," Lohman said in a statement before the court.

He said he tried to assist the victim, Mr Hashimi, by pulling others off him and that he had been given the flag by people in the area who were handing them out that day.

"I don't accept that explanation," Mr Geraghty said. "As he steps out (of the train) his hands in the air, his mouth open, his chest out, in some form of bravado.

"It seems to me there is a sense of exhilaration, a conquering hero – someone pretty pleased with himself."

While the conviction has been upheld, Mr Geraghty will decide whether to reduce Lohman's 11-month jail term after hearing submissions on December 12.

#2  Most recognizable - because only the footage of him was being shown on TV/Paper? I can have five 'alcoholic beverages' and golf better; somehow I don't think that was a factor with this guy.
"I was just trying to assist him in learning what happens when you assault women in Australia" would have been fun to hear...
Mr. Geraghty, any pictures of other flags being waved around that time period? Any pictures of 'my hero' poses from the assaulted cat food women?

UK School makes teachers dress up as Muslims Asians
Kids at the 257-pupil primary have also been told to don ethnic garb even though most are Christians. The morning assembly will be open to all parents – but dads are barred from a women-only party in the afternoon because Muslim husbands object to wives mixing with other men
A school was yesterday accused of making teachers dress up as Asians for a day – to celebrate a Muslim festival.
sorry, it's just not authentic without some genital mutilation .
Kids at the 257-pupil primary have also been told to don ethnic garb even though most are Christians. The morning assembly will be open to all parents – but dads are barred from a women-only party in the afternoon because Muslim husbands object to wives mixing with other men. Just two members of staff – a part-time teacher and a teaching assistant – are Muslim.

Yesterday a relative of one of the 39 others said: “Staff have got to go along with it – or let’s face it, they would be branded racist. “Who would put their job on the line? They have been told they have to embrace the day to show their diversity. But they are not all happy.”
oh goody. so when do they dress up as Jews? I'm sure the Muslims will look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate multicultural reciprocity.
The day aims to belatedly mark Eid, the end of Ramadan.

Sally Bloomer, head of Rufford primary school in Lye, West Midlands, insisted: “I have not heard of any complaints.
of course she hasn't HEARD complaints, but that doesn't mean they don't resent what's happening. People are silent due to the tyranny of the politically correct. Worse still, is if they drank the kool-aide and believe in this crap.
“It’s all part of a diversity project to promote multi-culturalism.”
oh. yeah.

Video: Illegals injured in SoCal wildfires cost hospitals mucho dinero
HT: Hotair
One of the many reasons that US health care is so expensive is that paying customers, whether they pay through insurance or their company pays through insurance or whether they’re subsidized through government programs, end up footing the bill for people who don’t pay a dime. And I’m not talking about uninsured Americans. I’m referring to illegal aliens — people who shouldn’t be here at all. Jurisdictions like Dallas County, TX have attempted to bill the Mexican government for the millions of health care dollars eaten up every year by illegal aliens. If hospitals aren’t reimbursed for these costs, and most aren’t, it ends up coming out of their budgets or it gets passed on to paying customers.

The 11 illegal aliens so far who were injured in the SoCal wildfire will end up costing Californians a great deal of money.

#1  so get them stabilized for transport and ship them south.......
should be able to easily get 11 in a van, northbound vans can easily carry more.....

#2  For the costs involved we could probably ship each of these guys down in a full paramedic truck then simply abandon it on the other side of the border and still come out saving money.

Actual Americans grow Minuteman group amid illegal immigration fight
KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Reuters) - Retired Kansas policeman Ed Hayes lives a quiet life with his wife and pet poodles in a spacious suburban home near Kansas City, far from the main front line over illegal immigration along the U.S. border with Mexico.

But over the last 18 months the 66-year-old grandfather has been drawn into the battle nonetheless, becoming active on a second front. He has joined many individuals, who, with state and municipal leaders, have given up waiting for federal action and are working to control illegal immigration themselves.

The issue has become a priority not only for activists like Hayes but also for state and local leaders around the United States who say because illegal immigration limits job opportunities for Americans and severely strains community resources.

The Minuteman group has a controversial reputation. Critics see it as a sometimes violent, racist organization of would-be vigilantes and some classify it as a hate group. But supporters say the group is non-violent and only aims to enforce the law.
Because our goverment won't

Minuteman membership has been growing nationally recently, with hundreds of new members added in the last three months, according to Garza. A new chapter is starting in Colorado with a new-member meeting November 17, and the group now has some form of representation in nearly every state with a total of more than 9,000 members, Garza said.

Kansas City parks and recreation board member Frances Semler said she joined the MCDC last year because she was so frustrated with a lack of action by Congress and an increasing strain on community resources. Her membership has cost the city convention business and some have called for her dismissal.
Frances hang in there
Still, MCDC members say they see their fight against illegal immigration becoming more mainstream as states and municipalities around the country pass laws to curb illegal immigration. Forty-three states enacted 182 immigration-related laws this year, "an unprecedented level of activity," according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

"This is not a political thing," said Hayes. "It's not a Democrat or a Republican thing. It's an American thing."

#1  Controversial my @$$. Look at who's crying "controversy" and then make up your mind. At the current pace, this has the potential to become the #1 issue in this country, eclipsing even the WoT. Watch the MSM to seize any incident in Iraq to deflect attention away from the house next door that is currently occupied by 25 people, none of whom speak English.

#2  Only 25 people, Rex? That coyote is an underachiever. A real one could pack in 65. Slacker!

#3  It really angers me that none of the presidential candidates feel the same way about our illegal problem as I do. NONE.
I say just stop giving illegals everything for free and they would leave on their own. We make it way too easy on them to be or remain illegal.
This is a huge issue and all the candidates skirt it big time. I don't give a rip about same sex marriage, stem cell research etc etc. I do but lets talk about the war and illegals first. But noooooo.
