Imaad Zuberi pleaded guilty to charges of tax evasion, campaign finance violations and failing to register as a foreign agent
He was ordered to pay nearly $16 million in restitution and a nearly $2 million fine
Federal prosecutors described Zuberi, who reports to prison May 25, as a 'mercenary' political donor who gave to anyone he thought could help him
Sentence comes after former President Donald Trump pardoned others who had been convicted or pleaded guilty to similar foreign-influence-related crimes

"Well, win some and lose some..." sighs Perry.
"I hope prison isn't too scary,
Imaad, but that's bellum."

And way oversell 'em! -- The Not-So-Rich Years of Zuberi."

[Breitbart] John Kerry, President Joe Biden’s administration’s climate envoy, sounded the alarm on an upcoming climate crisis.
Kerry told CBS "This Morning" reporter Ben Tracy in an interview which aired Friday, that the winter weather seen across the country could be the "new normal" and needs to be prevented by cutting global carbon emissions.
"It is directly related to the warming, even though your instinct is to say, wait a minute, this is the new ice age, but it’s not," Kerry asserted. "It is coming from the global warming, and it threatens all the normal weather patterns."
He added, "Even if we did everything that we said we were going to do when we signed up in Paris, we would see a rise in the Earth’s temperature to somewhere around 3.7 degrees or more, which is catastrophic."
Kerry went on to say, "we have nine years left" to "avert the worst consequences" of the climate crisis. He said the decision for the United States to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord is because "there’s no room for B.S. anymore."
"[T]he scientists told us three years ago we had 12 years to avert the worst consequences of climate crisis. We are now three years gone, so we have nine years left," he warned.
"There’s no room for B.S. anymore," Kerry told Tracy. "There’s no faking it on this one.

As I was shivering in front of my gas log fireplace Monday and Tuesday, I wondered - if CO2 causes the greenhouse effect and warming, where does all that warmed air go when the polar vortex came to Texas?
Australia having a massive heat wave?

Coal is cheap. Coal made the Industrial Revolution in the UK (hear, hear, Newcastle) and the US. Coal is keeping Germany warm now. The US has about a 500-year supply of it. I say use it. And so should China.

None of these climate change doomsayers have been right in their doomsday predictions over the last 50 years. It's about self-enrichment as they care little about the America or its people.
[Daily Caller] The man Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi selected to investigate security failures at the Capitol riot Jan. 6 has a history of peddling left-wing conspiracy theories, especially about the riot in question.
Pelosi announced Jan. 15 that Ret. Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré would lead the security review and assess any weaknesses. Honoré, who retired from the Army in 2008, has often used his Twitter account and media appearances to spread conspiracy theories about former President Donald Trump.
Pelosi’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
Honoré spent the weeks following the Capitol riot peddling unfounded claims. He suggested complicity between Capitol security leaders and rioters, and between Congressional Republicans and rioters. He did not, however, seem to provide any evidence for his assertions.

At first glance Russel Honoré looks like he has Biden-itous, you know slack face, distracted, pondering what day its...seems his mind is in an alt-realm, per the article.

He was the guy who was feted in the media as the "get things done" guy after Katrina. Like all media constructs, an objective examination shows something less that an "indispensable man" story.

As a reminder that "hindsight is 20-20" there were commenters here who wanted Honere to run for prexident back then. Getting caught up in media hagiography can happen to anyone if they arent a bit skeptical all the time. Remember how much many here loved Boosh back in the day?

I served around this guy back in the day. He is a loud mouth, genuinely funny, outrageous, and was promoted about three grades further than his professional capability. He managed to get by due to his quick wit and ability to entertain.
This does not bode well...he lacks any type of investigative ability and will just bombast and run his mouth about things and people he doesn't know anything about. Ole Russ will have to remember that if he baselessly insults someone now a days he cant hide behind his three little rusty (now retired) stars like he got away with back then, someone will pop him in that smart mouth of his.
[CTH via Insty] It appears the bloom is off the ruse, at least with Sky News. In one of the first admissions to what is transparently obvious, an Australian news pundit finally points out that Joe Biden has cognitive issues. The vast majority of Americans already know this, but the U.S. media have been pretending not to know for well over a year. Money quote: "He may not have lost all his marbles, but there’s definitely a hole in the bag..."

Let alone Joey Xiden's age. Oh, how the MSM/Dims were all over Ronald Wilson Reagan and Maverick McCain when they ran for prez, both around 72, IIRC.

Ditto #2. My bet is that the Left Wing/Coastal/Academic Wing (Soros' boys and girls) have purged the Clinton "Centrist/Flyover Country Network" from power.
[Ynet] A federal grand jury indicted nine associates of the "Oath Keepers" militia on Friday for conspiring to storm the Capitol on Jan. 6 to prevent Congress from certifying President Joe Biden's election victory.
The indictment alleges that the group conspired as far back as November to storm the Capitol, and extensively planned for a military-style attack that even contemplated staging an armed "quick reaction force" outside the city that would be ready to move if ordered by then President Donald Trump.
In a superseding indictment, the U.S. charged six people allegedly connected to Oath Keepers - Ohio residents Sandra Ruth Parker, 60, and her husband Bennie Alvin Parker, 70, Graydon Young, 54, of Florida, Kelly Meggs, 52, and his 59-year-old wife Connie Meggs, also of Florida, and Laura Steele, 52, of North Carolina.
The remaining three defendants - Thomas Caldwell, Jessica Watkins and Donovan Crowl - were previously indicted for conspiracy in January. In the latest version of the indictment, the government filed additional charges against Caldwell for tampering with evidence by deleting his Facebook posts.
Caldwell and Watkins have pleaded not guilty. Crowl has not yet entered a plea.
According to the indictment, Kelly Meggs is a self-described leader of the Florida chapter of the Oath Keepers.

When are they going to charge the Antifa, BLM, and Democratic leaders who planned, facilitated, and *actually* stormed the Capital?

/\ My theory is, these people will never be charged. But if charged, never convicted. I suspect the entire event was orchestrated by the dems and Deep State.

Oath breakers is more like it. These idiots handed the enemies of the constitution a sword with which they can destroy what’s left of the Constitution. They dishonorably broke their oath.
(The Federalist) Amongst the record-breaking number of executive actions taken by President Joe Biden was one related to a little-known, frightening Obama-era program called Operation Choke Point. The program, dubbed so under former Attorney General Eric Holder, uses the power of the federal government to target legal yet leftist-disfavored businesses. These include gun sellers, pawnshops, and short-term money lenders.
But on Jan. 28, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency under President Biden announced it would pause the Trump-era rule intended to prevent another Operation Choke Point from happening again.
This is why you pass laws, O Republican legislators. Next time do your frigging job instead of being lazy and letting the president write easily reversed executive orders.
The Trump administration rule appeared innocuous enough, instructing banks to "conduct risk assessments of individual customers, rather than make broad-based decisions affecting whole categories or classes of customers when providing access to services, capital, and credit."
After being choked from essential services in the economy, conservatives and right-of-center businesses will have no choice but to Build Your Own.

Lets see February 21, 2021, few hours from now, so it will be a full month since this group of "leaders" have been installed in the center of the US Government.
30 Days -19 Business days - remember 1 holiday in there someplace, now lookie what we have here.
Another part of the "Unity Campaign".
How Nice.
No Lexicon on this planet has the capability of carrying the expletives, I would use to comment on this latest "unity effort" by this illegitimate administration.
Readers, thank you for your time, may you find the words to carry on this string.

Government regulation has made most banks a directed extension of the Deep State. Notice how few banks go broke any longer? Why is that? They just change names and continue to march. Banks get all the money they need from the Fed, mortgage closing costs, credit card receipts, and through selling those mortgages. As a consequence, they don't need your money or deposits. If we were smart, we wouldn't need theirs. I'm as guilty as the next guy, I still use them. One day I will switch to Mason jars.

Don't use banks. Only recently I needed to set up an account to deposit a customer's out of town checks so I opened an account at a local Credit Union that a bunch of Baptists started for their churches and church members.

Credit unions are the best answer. They belong to the members and must be non profit run for the benefit of the members. Bankers are not your friends when it comes to money.
Audit the Fed just like they audit the credit unions.
