OK. Being a Yankee, I speak under correction, but can some one of our Texas cousins explain to me the difference between a "pimp gun" and a "barbeque gun"... other than who owns it?
#6
OK, Mercutio, it's a matter of application.
'Pimp guns' and 'barbeque guns' are supposed to be seen and shown off socially. However, pimp guns are also supposed to be used socially. Most BBQ guns are only ever fired in the air (New Years, July 4th, Cinco de Beero, it's Saturday, and the like.)

Until today, I didn't know BBQ guns were a thing.
#10
Further clarification: "Pimp guns are carried by the bad boys, tend to be chrome plated or titanium nitride coated (looks gold). Frequently used to end a discussion.
"BBQ guns" generally show up when somebody throws a big BBQ or such and a next door neighbor's brother-in-law has piece he's proud of.
It's that "ooh shiny" thing.
Note that these are metal guns, Glock's need not apply. And extra points are given if in black teflon or ceracoat.

“Son, only a pimp in a Louisiana whore- house carries pearl-handled revolvers. These are ivory.”
The Department of Homeland Security will begin on Sunday sending out removal flights of Haitian migrants who are at an encampment under a bridge in border city of Del Rio, Texas
One official said they would likely send five to eight flights of migrant out per day starting on Sunday while another expects no more than two a day
The plan also includes increasing the number of Border Patrol in the area by sending 400 agents and officers by Monday morning – and more if necessary
Haitian migrants are using a dam to cross into and from the U.S. and Mexico and staying shaded near a bridge
Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano said Saturday there were 14,534 immigrants at the camp under the bridge
[BREITBART] Texas Governor Greg Abbott ... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too... deployed a contingent of Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol troopers
“One traffic jam, one trooper.”

...a number that keeps rising as the days pass, oddly enough...
migrants colonists under the Del Rio International Bridge.
On Saturday afternoon, the troopers used vehicles and barbed wire to block access to a weir dam stretching the Rio Grande. The migrants colonists utilized the dam as the primary crossing point from Mexico into the makeshift camp.
As of late Saturday, the crossings had completely stopped after the DPS blocked access using vehicles and a rudimentary barbed-wire barrier. Just hours before, Breitbart Texas visited the camp by boat and witnessed the non-stop crossings of newly arriving migrants colonists and those using the dam to bring in food and other supplies from Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila.
Although the migrants colonists are being provided food and water by the Border Patrol and local authorities on scene, many chose to seek their own provisions from Acuna.
They don’t do Mexican food right in Texas, donchaknow.
Moslem colonists Migrants also brought cardboard and other materials used to construct primitive shelters alongside the international bridge. Many have spent more than a week in the shelter. As Breitbart Texas first reported, the migrants colonists began arriving in significant numbers earlier this month.
There are other areas that are being used by the migrants colonists to ford the river, but none provide the shallow, easy access that the dam afforded. Bringing goods and supplies into the camp from Mexico will be near impossible without access to the dam. Authorities have been worried about tension building up in the camp as the population continues to swell.
The troopers and Guardsmen, deployed as part of Texas Governor Gregg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star have been dispatched to border communities since March. The contingent of more than 1,000 Highway Patrol troopers and Texas Army National Guard soldiers have focused primarily on blocking major migrant crossing points and increasing patrols along state highways leading away from the border.

[NationalReview] On the menu today: The Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... are methodically collecting as much information about the Afghan population as possible, looking for anyone who has, in their eyes, been tainted or corrupted by Western influences or values. Hiding Afghan allies of the U.S. are now wondering if it is worth it to try making the dangerous journey to sneak into Pakistain — although that option offers a separate plethora of deadly risks.
Americans who are trying to get Afghan allies out of the country continue to hear horrific stories from those they’re trying to rescue. These stories are difficult to verify, but bit by bit, similar accounts from different sources start to align.

And Joe Biden gave them all that biographical information on anyone who ever worked with us - pointing them out for special treatment.
Sadly he (Biden) has no shame. No doubt the media will show it as a humanitarian gesture to 'get allong with our new Friends.
[Western Journal] A new report contradicts key points of the Biden administration’s narrative concerning an Aug. 29 drone strike that U.S. officials allegedly thought killed terrorists, but appears to have killed only innocent civilians.
An investigation conducted by The New York Times indicates that what President Joe Biden’s commanders thought was a man loading bombs into a car was instead Zemari Ahmadi putting canisters of water into his vehicle. Ahmadi was among the 10 people killed in the strike, including seven children.
According to The Washington Post, experts looking at photographic evidence believe military planners drew the wrong conclusions that day.
U.S. Central Command initially said in an Aug. 29 statement, "We are confident we successfully hit the target. Significant secondary explosions from the vehicle indicated the presence of a substantial amount of explosive material."
Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, later called the attack "a righteous strike."

Right or Wrong
Their Drone strike has in fact deflected the main attention away from, what we are hearing could be 500+ American citizens left behind.
POLITICAL REASONING
Which is the American voter more likely to forgiven and forget come election?
5,000 American left behind?
Or a mistaken target Terrorist Drone strike ?

The moral justification for the Talib return to power is that they would restore order and safety. It looks like they’re already failing.
[ToloNews] A businessman, Zainulabuddin, who was kidnapped seventeen days ago in Kabul, has been killed, his family said on Sunday.
The family said a group of gunnies took him from his workplace, claiming to be on official business for the directorate of national security working on an investigation. Later they demanded money.
The merchant’s body was found behind the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul two nights ago.
Hamid, son of Zainulabuddin, said: "Five gunnies wearing military uniforms took my father from our office in the Quwai Markaz area. They said they were from national security. Then, we received a phone call asking for a great amount of money."
Meanwhile, ...back at the dirigible, the pilot and the copilot had both hit the silk.
Jack! Cynthia exclaimed. Do you know how to drive one of these things?
Jack wiped some of the blood from his knuckles.
No, he said. Do you?... the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries officials said that such incidents will obstruct business in the country.
Mohammad Younus Mohmand told TOLOnews: "We talked with security officials. They assured us that they will take the people behind the incident to the courts."
Kabul residents expressed worry over kidnapping cases and robberies in Kabul.
Armed men stole 700,000 Afs four days ago from a shop in Chahar Qala area, shopkeeper Habiburahman said.
Habib said: " They forced me to open a safe of money and then tgey took all of it. They were four people. One was standing outside."
Kabul residents urged the caretaker government to provide security in Kabul, where several robberies have happened in the last few days.
[ToloNews] A child was killed and two people, including a Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... forces member, were injured in a kaboom on Sunday evening in Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province.
Bilal Karimi, a deputy of Taliban official Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed to TOLOnews that the earth-shattering kaboom hit a Taliban forces vehicle.
According to Karimi, the earth-shattering kaboom targeted the vehicle in PD5 of Jalalabad city, the provincial center of Nangarhar.
Karimi said a child was killed and two people, including a member of the Taliban forces, were maimed.
No group has grabbed credit for the attack.
This attack followed a blast in Kabul on Saturday that maimed two people, and two explosions on Saturday that targeted a Taliban vehicle in Nangarhar, which maimed around 20 people.
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Saturday, the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF) seized a shipment of weapons from Libya, and arrested four smugglers, including two Libyans.
"Our forces deployed on the border strip between Sudan, Egypt, and Libya, managed to seize a shipment of weapons, ammunition, and explosives coming from Libya," the RSF said in a statement.
The RSF Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel, Ali Ahmed Mahmoud Awajeh, said the RSF units were dispatched to the Saif al-Barli area on the border triangle after receiving intelligence about the presence of arms-trading gangs in the area.
RSF patrols clashed with the smuggling gang three kilometers from Saif al-Barli area and pursued them.
"After the festivities, the forces confiscated two GMC cars carrying 36 Kalashnikov rifles and a box of Kornet grenades, Dushka cannon, RPG-7 launchers, and a large number of various other kinds of weapons," the statement revealed.
Notably, the government in Sudan closed the country’s borders with Libya many times, citing security and economic risks. It has repeatedly complained of arms smuggling across its borders.
Last April, the Sudanese Security and Defence Council, the highest authority in the country, decided to monitor the borders to prevent the flow and spread of weapons. This occurred in the wake of violence that broke out in Sudan on April 3rd and lasted for more than a week.
However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... the new Governor of the western Darfur region, Mini Arko Minawi, in August decided to re-open the borders for trade with Libya and other neighbouring countries.

[Garowe] At least five people were maimed on Sunday following a kaboom at Bulo Burte airstrip in the Hiraan region, in the latest al-Shabaab ...... Somalia's version of the Taliban ...Arabic for students... , functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... attack within Somalia as the country struggles with political crisis, which could potentially split the country.
Reports indicate that the blast, which has since been owned by al-Shabaab holy warriors, destroyed a section of the airstrip, further raising questions about the security of the country, which is struggling with instability.
Area MP Mohamud Benebenne confirmed the incident noting it was the second time the holy warrior group had attacked the new departure and arrival terminal recently built in EU funded project.
Pictures shared by the MP show a destroyed building that was used as a waiting bay for passengers.
The federal MP condemned the attack terming it an afront to progress in the region. He called for more security at the airport and the construction of permanent facilities.
According to authorities, soldiers were among the people injured in a kaboom inside Buoloburte airport, which also caused severe damage to parts of the airport's office building. Those maimed in the attack were taken to the nearby hospital.
Buloburte district commissioner Ahmed Mahad Nur told VOA's Somali service that al-Shabaab was behind the bombings at Buloburte airport, which houses Djiboutian forces under AMISOM.
He said al-Shabaab had sneaked into the airport, then detonated the bomb at the airport's generator section. The Death Eaters control areas in the Middle and Lower Shabelle regions, where they are battling Somali and AU troops.
This is the second time such an attack has been carried out on the airport, one of the most functioning airports in the Hiiraan region. It was not immediately clear who the Death Eaters were targeting but it's their norm to target innocent civilians across the Horn of Africa.
[LIBYAREVIEW] The Customs Department at the al-Khums sea port thwarted the smuggling of narcotic tablets inside a container coming from abroad.
The department explained that it managed to foil the smuggling operation after receiving information that there was a container suspected of containing narcotics.
"After the search and investigation, the members of the department officers were able to seize a large quantity of narcotic pills amounting to 175360 tablets," the Customs Department said in a statement on Sunday.
In May, the Head of Libya’s National Central Bureau, Adel Bentaleb, said that they noticed a marked increase in narcos using Libya as a transshipment point, including for drugs from as far as South America.
"While many of these drugs are neither produced nor consumed here, this has not spared us from the violent mostly peaceful crime inevitably wrought by such activity, which we are determined to combat alongside Interpol," Bentaleb said.
Drug traffickers are using Libya as a transit route for illegal drugs from South America to Europe. The National Central Bureau said drugs worth nearly 100 million euros were seized in Africa and the Middle East during a large international police operation in March and April.

[AlAhram] Gunmen in northern Nigeria have released 10 more students after a ransom was paid, but 21 others remain in captivity despite a pledge to release them all, officials said Sunday.
The Rev. John Hayab, the chairman of the local Christian association, said the kidnappers had collected money three days ago. The 10 freed students were returned to their parents Saturday night, he said.
Assailants had stormed the Bethel Baptist High School on July 5, seizing at least 120 of the students from their hostels. Various batches of the students have been released since then and the last group was freed on Aug. 27.
The Kaduna state bandits demanded 1 million naira ($2,430) per student.
``These bandidos are torturing us emotionally, psychologically, physically, financially. They are putting us under serious pressure,'' he said of the button men. ``The moment they release a number (of students), it is because they want to ask for fresh money.``
About 1,400 children have been kidnapped from their schools over the last year and nearly 200 of them have yet to be released. Sixteen children have died in the attacks, UNICEF Nigeria Representative Peter Hawkins told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
As schools are set to reopen across Nigeria, UNICEF has also said at least 1 million children are afraid to return to their classrooms because of insecurity. That aggravates the education crisis in the West African country where more than 10 million children are already out of school.
Moreover, some of the freed captives have told the AP of how they continue to face trauma weeks after their freedom. Some of them have also said they won't return to school. Victory Sani, 20, who was kidnapped from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization in Kaduna and later freed, said the button men ``asked us not to go back to school, that they will make sure they shut down all the schools in Kaduna state.''

NYC chapter of Black Lives Matter is planning to hold a protest against the Manhattan restaurant where three black women were filmed assaulting an Asian hostess after she asked for vaccination proof per city law. The women say they were racially profiled. https://t.co/uInrTz17Tz
Following the altercation, Hawk Newsome, co-founder of Black Lives Matter NY, said that the organization plans to hold a protest on Monday in response to the incident.
Three Texas women who were filmed allegedly attacking a Carmine's restaurant hostess after she asked for their vaccination proof are now saying that they were racially profiled and were called the N-word during the incident.
According to the Daily Mail, the trio, all of which are black women, are now calling for the 24-year-old Asian hostess to be fired from her job, alleging that she was, in fact, the aggressor. The hostess was taken to the hospital following the incident with minor injuries, with police arresting 21-year-old Tyonnie Keshay Rankin, 44-year-old Kaeita Nkeenge Rankin, and 49-year-old Sally Rechelle Lewis and charging them with misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief.

even my hard core lefty friends admit that being a server for wakandan patrons will make you prejudiced really fast.
Sorry, flinched.
Worst kept secret in food service.
I even read an article some ten years ago, some researchers or whatnot went into one of those decent food decent price restaurants everyone goes to, a national brand, to find out if servers earn better tips from same race patrons. What they found out is, by and large, all the servers regardless of race cringed when a black group arrived, mostly because the absolute lack, not low lack, of tipping made even a good time become a sort of wasted time experience.
Obviously this was not a valid research as there could be many factors involved, especially mean income among patrons within restaurant's footprint....but it sure wasn't what the researchers went in thinking.
That isn't of course this, this is three patrons attempting to use privilege to bully themselves a table.

[IsraelTimes] Suspects charged with aggravated terrorist assault for attack that included blocking vehicle carrying maimed officer who had been shot, in move designed to ’worsen his condition’.
Two men have been charged for an attack in which they allegedly hurled stones and fired fireworks at coppers, as well as blocking an ambulance in the northern town Umm al-Fahm during ethnic unrest that rocked the country in May, the police announced Sunday.
The suspects, aged 18 and 20, both residents of the Arab city, participated in a violent mostly peaceful demonstration near the entrance of the city on May 11, Israel Police said in a statement. During the protest, the men also allegedly help set fire to a electric pole that supported a security camera.
The next night, an ambulance carrying a maimed police officer who was shot during violent mostly peacefulfestivities near the city’s entrance was attacked by a number of rioters including the two suspects, police said.
Police said the rioters blocked the ambulance, threw stones at it, broke its windows and tried to force open the door.
"This was in order to prevent the treatment of the maimed police officer and worsen his condition due to an ideological nationalist motive," police charged.
The ambulance then turned back to the local Magen David Adom emergency services station, where the maimed officer was transferred to a police car that took him to another ambulance that was waiting outside of the city.
The two accused men are also suspected of opening fire with a makeshift Carlo-style submachine gun near a community center in Umm al-Fahm, police said. It was not clear when this separate incident took place.
Police said the two men were arrested in August and the indictment was filed on Friday, but the details of the investigation were released for publication only on Sunday.
The indictment charged the two with aggravated terrorist assault, attempted assault of a public worker, rioting, abetting arson, intentional sabotage of a vehicle and weapons offenses, among other charges.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The bodies of Indonesia’s most wanted holy warrior with ties to ISIS group and a follower, who were killed in a jungle shootout with security forces, were evacuated early Sunday to a police hospital for further investigation, police said.
The military earlier said the Death Eaters killed late Saturday were Ali Kalora, leader of the East Indonesia Mujahideen network that has claimed several killings of coppers and minority Christians, and another suspected krazed killer, Jaka Ramadan, also known as Ikrima.
The two men were fatally shot by a joint team of military and coppers in Central Sulawesi province’s mountainous Parigi Moutong district. It borders Poso district, considered an krazed killer hotbed in the province.
Several pictures obtained by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named from authorities showed an M16 rifle and backpacks laid near their bloodied bodies. The Central Sulawesi Police Chief Rudy Sufahriadi told a news conference on Sunday that security forces also seized two ready-to-use bombs from their backpacks, which also contained food and camping tools.
He said the bodies of Kalora and his follower have been evacuated to a police hospital in Palu, the bucolic provincial capital, after the rugged terrain and darkness hampered earlier evacuation efforts from the scene of the shootout in the forested village of Astina.
"We urged the other four wanted hard boyz to immediately surrender and dare to take responsibility for their actions before the law," said Sufahriadi, referring to remaining members of the East Indonesia Mujahideen who are still on the lam in the jungle on Sulawesi island.
The holy warrior group pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2014, and Indonesia has intensified its security operations in the area in recent months to try to capture its members, particularly the leader, Kalora.
Two months ago, security forces killed two suspected members in a raid in the same mountainous district, several days after authorities claimed that Kalora and three group members planned to surrender. The surrender was reportedly cancelled after other members rejected the plan.
Kalora had eluded capture for more than a decade. He took over leadership of the group from Abu Wardah Santoso, who was killed by security forces in July 2016. Dozens of other leaders and members have been killed or captured since then.

It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important... in Sochi, according to a senior Ottoman Turkish official.
By the end of September, a tripartite summit, including Iran, will be held in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi under the Astana process.
Speaking to Hurriyet Daily News under the conditions of anonymity, the bigwig said that the "main agenda point is Syria, namely Idlib." They were referring to planned talks in Sochi.
"The conditions set out in the Idlib agreement have not been fully implemented," they added.
An agreement signed in March 2020 had followed weeks of fighting that brought The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... and Russia close to conflict and displaced nearly a million people.
The official added that the intense strikes launched by Russian and Syrian warplanes on targets in Idlib in recent weeks indicate that the calm that has prevailed in the region since the March 2020 agreement had started to change.
Moscow is trying to pressure Turkey through its sudden escalation of Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s in Idlib, the official explained.
In an article published by Hurriyet, Ottoman Turkish writer and analyst Sedat Ergin said that Moscow and Damascus stepping up their airstrikes in Idlib over the last few weeks aims to redirect Turkey’s attention away from developments in Afghanistan.
Ergin warns that Turkey could be looking at a future like that of Afghanistan in Idlib.
"The sudden increase in Russian air attacks in Idlib is possibly aimed at putting pressure on Ankara for other political reasons," said Ergin, highlighting that the strikes come just a few days away from the anticipated talks in Sochi.
For Ergin, Russia is "trying to reinforce its negotiating position by conducting more strikes ahead of the summit."

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] ISIS on Saturday claimed an attack on a major natural gas pipeline southeast of the Syrian capital that led to power outages in the city and surrounding areas. As if you could tell one explosion in Syria from another...
ISIS bully boyz "were able to plant and detonate explosives on the gas pipeline feeding the Tishreen and Deir Ali plants," the group said in a statement.
The Deir Ali station southeast of Damascus generates half of Syria's power needs, Electricity Minister Ghassan al-Zamel said Saturday in comments carried by the official SANA news agency.
AFP quoted him as saying that an attack on the gas pipeline on Friday evening with bombs caused the station to go out of service temporarily.
The outage affected several other stations, causing blackouts in Damascus, its outskirts and other areas, Zamel said, before power was restored some thirty minutes later.
He said maintenance works had started Saturday but warned of severe rationing until the pipeline is repaired and power plants resume normal operations.
The Deir Ali and Tishreen plants remain out of service.
ISIS’s so-called caliphate in Syria was declared defeated in the riverside hamlet of Baghouz in 2019 following a grueling US-backed offensive.
But the group continues to conduct attacks on Syrian government forces from its hideouts, including in the vast east Syrian desert.
