Thousands of monkeys terrorise Thai town: Rival gangs battle for supremacy as they compete for food - even climbing on humans and cars - after getting hooked on sugary drinks
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • The town of Lopburi, around 90 miles north of the capital Bangkok, is well-known for its monkey population

  • The primates bring tourists from around the world with locals even holding an annual festival to honour them

  • But the population spiralled out of control amid the pandemic and the monkeys are now terrorising the city

  • Lopburi is now ravaged by thousands of the sugar fuelled macaques clashing violently over food and territory

  • Government officials have tried to control the primate population with sterilisation programmes - to no avail

LA cops go over woke DA George Gascon's head and get feds to file murder charges against four F13 gang members 'who killed off-duty officer' over fears his liberal reforms would have resulted in lenient sentences
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • The charges come with enhancements that would potentially see the gang members serve life in prison - the same enhancements Garcon has scrapped

  • Sheriff Alex Villanueva went over the head of Los Angeles' progressive DA George Gascón, who is against such enhanced sentencing

  • Villanueva told the media he had tried to consult with Gascon's office but found his response 'not satisfactory.'

  • Officer Fernando Arroyos, 27, was fatally shot at about 9:15 p.m. Monday in an unincorporated area of south Los Angeles County

  • The suspects allegedly targeted him because of two silver chains or necklaces around his neck, authorities said

  • Murder convictions are generally sentenced to 25 to life in California, but gang members can be sentenced to life without parole

F13 GANG IS LINKED TO DRUG SMUGGLING, ASSAULTS AND MURDERS
The Florencia 13 gang linked to Officer Fernando Arroyos' killing has been linked to numerous serious crimes, including at least 17 murders.

F13 are named after the Florence area of LA, which is controlled by the Mexican mafia. Most of its members are Mexican-American.

LA cops found the gang was attacking and killing African-Americans purely on the basis of race.

They launched Operation Joker's Wild to try and stem the killings, while also tackling the gang's drug trafficking and extortion.

Operation Joker's Wild culminated in 102 F13 gang members being named in indictments in 2007 - the largest gang bust in US history at the time.

A total of 96 members were taken into custody, 94 of whom admitted their crimes or pleaded guilty.

LA - Thieves Raiding Cargo Containers, Stealing Packages On Downtown Section Of Union Pacific Train Tracks
[CBSLA] Thieves have been raiding the cargo containers, taking packages that belong to people from all over the country from retailers like Amazon, REI and others.

The refuse left behind, like home COVID test kits, are items that the robbers did not want or did not think were valuable enough to take.

Sources told CBSLA that the locks Union Pacific uses are easy to cut, and officials with the Los Angeles Police Department said they don’t respond to reports of a train robbery unless Union Pacific asks them for help, which they said is rare.

While CBSLA was on the scene with cameras, one person was seen running off with a container used to hold smaller packages, and a Union Pacific officer was spotted chasing after two other people who appeared to be rifling through packages.

CBSLA also obtained video of University of Southern California Campus Police arresting a suspected thief last month. According to officers, the suspect’s bag was filled with stolen goods taken from the train tracks.

A source with knowledge of the issue told CBSLA that Union Pacific cleaned up this area of tracks three months ago, and again only about 30 days ago, though the area is already littered with new discarded boxes.

Bill Ford is doubling down on Ford shares, and quietly amassing more control of his great-grandfather's company in the process
[CNBC] Ford Motor Chair Bill Ford has been slowly amassing more control of the automaker his great-grandfather founded in 1903.

He is the company’s biggest individual shareholder with 2.3 million shares of the Ford’s common stock.

More importantly, he directly owns 16.1 million, or 23%, of the Class B shares. That’s quadruple the roughly 4 million, or 5.7%, he owned in 2012, according to FactSet.

Retail sales plunged 1.9% in December
[Washington Examiner] Retail sales plummeted by 1.9% in December after several months of consecutive increases, the Commerce Department reported Friday.

The report was far worse than expectations, with the consensus among economists being that retail sales would actually increase slightly. Additionally, the November gain was revised down a bit to 0.2%.

"Loss in momentum in November turned into a sharp weakening in December," noted Rubeela Farooqi, the chief U.S. economist for High Frequency Economics.

The stock market was down after Friday’s report following news of the retail sales numbers and a mixed set of bank earnings.

Nancy Pelosi's son Paul was involved in FIVE companies probed by the feds as shocking paper trail connects him to a slew of fraudsters and convicted criminals
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] In February 2007, he had just landed a $180,000 job as Senior Vice President at data company InfoUSA, despite already holding a full-time position as a home loan officer at Countrywide Home Loans in San Mateo and having no experience in database marketing.

In 2009, Pelosi Jr. was recruited to be president of an environmental investment company called Natural Blue Resources.

In October 2013 Pelosi Jr. landed a job as Vice President of biofuel company FOGFuels.

In 2014 Pelosi Jr. moved on to two new roles. The first was as Independent Director of Los Angeles-based drug company Targeted Medical Pharma, which, a year after Pelosi Jr. left the firm, was accused by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of testing drugs on people without authorization.

Pelosi Jr. quit the company seven months after joining according to SEC filings, and left the FOGFuels position off his LinkedIn resume completely.

Pelosi Jr. did decide to include a new full-time role on his LinkedIn resume in October 2014 as 'Business Development Executive' of the Corporate Governance Initiative (CGI) — though he has since removed it.

SEC filings say CGI is 'a non-profit group' focused on 'transparency, capitalism and building sustainable organization[s]' and that Pelosi was promoted to Executive Director of the organization in December 2015.

Oroplata Resources, a lithium mining company, announced Pelosi Jr. had joined the firm as a Senior Advisor in July 2016.

The company has since changed its name to American Battery Metals Corporation.

Vaccine Passports, Food Insecurity and the Law of Unintended Consequences
[Last Refuge] The axiom of "the law of unintended consequences" has never been more appropriate than right now. In the background, as you are reading, there is a looming storm that is going to soon surface in the food supply chain, and the regional vaccine passports are going to make things worse.

To understand what is happening, it becomes necessary to give a more specific background on how the things work inside the supply chain that has been disrupted by government intervention. This is complex, but I hope to make it understandable for the average person.

How do we avoid supply chain chaos? My response seems counterintuitive to those who do not understand this unique issue.

Effective immediately, or at least as soon as possible, every venue that can provide food on a commercial basis must be removed from all COVID regulations, including vaccine passports.

Restaurants, school lunchrooms, cafeterias, industrial kitchens, hotels, bars, food trucks and every possible venue for the delivery of freshly cooked meals must immediately be reactivated, and all terms and conditions for visiting those venues, like "vaccine passports", must be cancelled quickly.

If they are not, and worse, if the restrictions expand beyond current status, there is going to be a worsening retail food crisis as the total food supply chain begins to collapse even further.

Government Corruption
Marilyn Mosby: Baltimore state's attorney indicted on charges of perjury and making false statements on mortgage applications
[CNN/MSN] Remember this scrunt from Freddy Gray days?
State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby is facing perjury charges over documents she submitted to apply for loans against her retirement plan in 2020, according to the indictment. In doing so, allegedly she used a withdrawal option created under the CARES Act, passed to help people who were financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the indictment, when Mosby applied for two loans against her 457(b) retirement plan, she signed documents that indicated she "experienced adverse financial consequences" due to Covid-19. However, the indictment said her gross income in 2020 was $247,955.58, an increase of nearly $10,000 from the previous year.

Mosby received $36,000 in May and $45,000 in December of 2020 from her retirement account, according to the indictment.

The money Mosby received allegedly went toward the purchase of two vacation homes in Florida, and she is also charged with making false statements on the mortgage applications, according to the indictment.

She secured a $490,500 mortgage in 2020 and a $428,400 mortgage in 2021, but she did not disclose in the applications that she owed more than $45,000 in federal back taxes, the indictment says.

Additionally, Mosby allegedly stated that she would be the primary resident of one of the homes for at least a year in order to receive a lower mortgage rate. But she had already entered an agreement with a vacation home management company to rent out the house the week before, the indictment alleges.

Mosby's lawyer said his client is innocent of the charges.

"I remain confident that once all the evidence is presented, that she will prevail against these bogus charges — charges that are rooted in personal, political and racial animus five months from her election," attorney A. Scott Bolden said in a statement.

If convicted, Mosby faces a maximum sentence of five years in a federal prison for each perjury count and a maximum of 30 years for each count of making false statements on a mortgage application, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland. She could also be forced to forfeit any property found to have been obtained by fraud, the indictment says.

The Baltimore Sun reported that she sold one of the properties in November for a $150,000 profit.

"We're not commenting beyond what's on the indictment. It speaks for itself," Marcia Murphy, public affairs specialist for Maryland US Attorney Erek Barron, told CNN.

Mosby will have an initial appearance in the US District Court in Baltimore, but the hearing has not yet been scheduled, according to the US Attorney's office.

Mosby was elected as the state's attorney for Baltimore City in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018.

She made national news in 2015 for charging six Baltimore police officers in the death of Freddie Gray, who died in police custody after suffering a neck injury while being driven unrestrained in the back of a police van. His death became a symbol of the Black community's mistrust of police and triggered days of protests and riots in Baltimore. None of the six officers arrested was convicted.

#4  Investigators subpoenaed financial records from Mosby and her husband, City Council President Nick Mosby, in March.

Mosby is running for re-election in June for a third term as Baltimore’s state’s attorney. She has denied any wrongdoing in previous statements about the investigation.

Prosecutors say she asked for a withdrawal of $40,000 from her city retirement account based on what she said was a financial hardship based on the coronavirus pandemic. Contrary to that claim, prosecutors said that at that time her salary had increased by $10,000 to $248,000.

Mosby’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, blamed racism for the charges.

“We will fight these charges vigorously, and I remain confident that once all the evidence is presented, that she will prevail against these bogus charges — charges that are rooted in personal, political and racial animus five months from her election,” read a statement from Bolden.

Blinken: US still unsure who is behind Havana Syndrome cases
[Aljazeera] United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said Washington is still trying to get to the bottom of a mysterious illness that has affected US diplomats posted around the world, but does not yet know what causes the affliction or who is behind it.

Blinken made the comments on Thursday as more reported cases of the mysterious neurological syndrome known as Havana Syndrome emerged, this time in Paris and Geneva.

The cases among officials working at diplomatic missions in the two cities were reported internally last year and eventually to Washington, the Wall Street Journal reported. They joined about 200 other diplomats based around the world to reportedly experience what the Biden administration officially calls "anomalous health incidents".

"To date, we don’t know exactly what’s happened and we don’t know exactly who is responsible," Blinken said in an interview with US broadcaster MSNBC.

#3  To all the non-believers about the effectiveness about Ivermectin and HCQ, I have a question for you. Why did the public health authorities go to such extreme lengths to block these 2 medicines? They partnered with their useful idiots and partisans in the media to push the narrative that these drugs are essentially fish tank cleaner and horse dewormer. 2 minutes of research will show anyone that they are two of the most prescribed and safest human medicines ever to be invented. They blocked pharmacies from filling off-label prescriptions for these medicines. Don’t believe me? Call your local Rite Aid or CVS and ask if they will fill a prescription for these if your doctor wants to prescribe them for Covid. This is unheard of in medicine. They worked with medical governing bodies to sanction doctors who didn’t fall in line. They prevented hospitals from administering these to people even if they were very sick.

Never in the history of medicine have we seen such sick and corrupt practices.

After 2 years all we hear is the same 3 courses of action from our public health authorities, lockdowns, masks and vaccines. Not one Public Service Announcement on the different therapies, most of which are over the counter, to help lessen the severity of the course of the disease.

At least 500,000 Americans could have been saved. These people, should,be in jail.

Roberts and Kavanaugh Side with Lefties, Allow Healthcare Worker Vax Mandate to Stand
[Gateway] The US Supreme Court on Thursday blocked Joe Biden’s OSHA vax mandate for private businesses with 100+ employees.

In a separate, simultaneously released ruling, the highest court of the land — in a 5-4 vote — allowed a similar vaccine mandate for healthcare facilities that receive Medicaid and Medicare to stand.

Conservative Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Clarence Thomas dissented.

"These cases are not about the efficacy or importance of COVID—19 vaccines. They are only about whether CMS has the statutory authority to force healthcare workers, by coercing their employers, to undergo a medical procedure they do not want and cannot undo. Because the Government has not made a strong showing that Congress gave CMS that broad authority, I would deny the stays pending appeal. I respectfully dissent." Justice Thomas wrote in his dissenting opinion.

#3  ...As much as I hate to say this, two cheers for the medical worker mandate. My wife is a CNA, my father in law just retired after 50 years as a physician, and they both supported health workers being vaxed.

My wife's position at least was very plain and clear: she worked with hospice patients - mostly elderly - in order to give them something resembling peace and dignity in their last days. The idea of her passing, even unknowingly, COVID on to one of these folks was utterly abhorrent to her. Mind you, this was before Omicron and its ability to carry without symptoms, but I believe the main point still applies - if you're going to work with the medically vulnerable, you have to take every possible precaution available.

And let me clarify - if any of my fellow 'Burgers reading this are health care workers and do NOT agree with the mandate, it does not change my regard or respect for you as I hope it will not change those things with you for me. This is something I believe reasonable people can disagree on.

#6  The "feds pay so feds make the rules" thing is flawed logic. There is no such thing as "federal money." There is revenue taken coercively from the citizens in the form of taxation. In that sense, it remains the citizens money, but the taint of passage through the maw of FedGov is used to justify lots of injustice.

#7  And so far none points that Congress wrote the law that the 5-4 majority relied on to back up the vax mandate for healthcare workers. That mandate does NOT apply to healthcare systems which refuse to accept federal money (very few of them exist). Congress is free at any time to amend that law to exclude vax mandates. None has pointed this out. 100% of the House and about 33% of the Senate is up for reelection this year, but this issue will most likely never be mentioned in the campaigns.

World's Largest Asset Manager: Central Banks Are Trapped As They Can't Fight Supply-Driven Inflation
[ZERO] Back in September, when the Fed was still lying to itself and to the people that inflation was "transitory", yet when the first hints the Fed would have to tighten soon emerged, we asked a simple question: "How Exactly Do Central Bankers Plan To Resolve Supply Chain Bottlenecks." It is a question that nobody has answered yet for the simple reason that there is no answer: the Fed can at best adjust demand-side inflation but when it comes to supply chain bottlenecks (which as we showed earlier today are about to get much worse), the central banks is completely helpless.

Fast forward 5 months when the same question appears to be bothering BlackRock Investment Institute’s global chief investment strategist, Wei Li, who said in a Bloomberg TV interview that central banks are in a "very tricky spot" this year as they try to fight inflation that’s driven by supply factors, and that at the same time, four rate hikes may not be enough to control price pressures.

As a result, she said that "it’s really difficult for central banks to stabilize inflation without destroying activity," which is precisely the point we have been making for weeks, when we say - over and over - that tightening into the current global slowdown will do nothing to address the supply-driven inflation and will instead send the economy into a stagflationary abyss, not to mention crash markets.

Or, as Li puts it, given inflation dynamics are supply-driven, "central banks should not lean too aggressively against inflation" as to not damage activity.

She also noted that the one silver lining is that growth is still "reasonably robust" but the economy is coming down from very elevated levels last year. As such the Fed may misinterpret continued slowdown with its policy working, when in reality it will only be making matters worse.

In any case, the Blackrock strategist expects "inflation to settle at levels higher compared with what we got used to, even as supply bottlenecks ease because of structural factors at play."

In terms of markets, the firm continues to prefer developed-market stocks to emerging markets through support from fundamentals with "okay" growth and earnings.

"We see a broader robust outlook for DM equities and this is where we’re having big conviction at the moment", although a few more days like today and we are confident that the world's largest asset manager will change its tune.

#1  supply-driven inflation

Supply-driven inflation is the big lie, a mask for the actual problem. Supply and Demand is a good thing, it drives a free market. Government debt and borrowing cause the value of the dollar to fall. Costs go up (commonly referred to as inflation) as dollars are worth less.

If it's manufactured in Texas, Georgia, or Indiana, might take a week or two to get it (due to demand), but I doubt it will be "locked down."

If we make it here, we have some control over it. It it's made in China, the Communist Chinese control it. What am I missing ?

Alkaline Hydrolysis - The downside
[Brighteon.com] Washington State legalized "flesh goo" liquefaction of human corpses before activating covid concentration camps

The State of Washington legalized the liquefaction and disposal of human corpses just one year before the state activated covid concentration camps, providing for an efficient, stealth mechanism for mass disposal of human corpses.

Washington's legalization of this "flesh goo" mechanism for liquefying human corpses -- known as "alkaline hydrolysis" -- went into effect on May 1, 2020. The law is RCW 68.50.110 and the passage refers to "alkaline hydrolysis" as the new, legal means to dispose of human corpses.

In 2020, after the covid pandemic exploded, Washington State legalized the practice as it began the launch its plans to build covid concentration camps run by "strike team" operators.
What Covid concentration camps? They have such things in Australia, but other than returning those infected with Covid to retirement homes in certain states, I’ve seen no solid information about Covid concentration camps in America.
Washington State has developed a way to dispose of large masses of human bodies without having to dig mass graves or run incinerators which would be detectable by drones or satellites.

They are planning to carry out large-scale genocide.

Get full details in today's bombshell feature podcast here.

COVID virus made in Chinese lab as bat vaccine, Marine researcher says
[Washington Times] A Marine Corps officer working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency disclosed in a memorandum last August that his study of the virus behind the COVID-19 pandemic concluded that it was produced as part of vaccine research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to documents made public by a conservative investigative group.

Maj. Joseph P. Murphy notified the Pentagon inspector general that his analysis of the virus origin concluded the nongovernment organization EcoHealth Alliance, the National Institutes of Health, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology produced the virus known as SARS-CoV-2 through controversial gain-of-function research outlined in a Pentagon grant proposal.

"SARS-CoV-2 is an American-created recombinant bat vaccine, or its precursor virus," Maj. Murphy stated in an August 13, 2021, memo made public this week by Project Veritas. "It was created by an EcoHealth Alliance program at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), as suggested by the reporting surrounding the lab leak hypothesis."

Asked about the 24 pages of internal documents made public by Project Veritas, DARPA spokesman Jared Adams told Inside the Ring in an email that federal regulations prohibit the agency from commenting on DARPA programs or documents.

"We are precluded by Federal Acquisition Regulations from discussing who may or may not have bid on a DARPA program, and are unable to confirm the authenticity of the documents Project Veritas has published," Mr. Adams wrote.

Maj. Murphy and the Office of Naval Research did not immediately respond to an email request for comment.

According to Project Veritas, Maj. Murphy declined to discuss the document but told the group: "To those that seek answers I offer encouragement. There are good people striving for truth, working together in and out of government, and they succeed. ... Don’t let a lie be our legacy to posterity."

According to Maj. Murphy, now with the Office of Naval Research, details of the program were hidden since the pandemic began in Wuhan, China in December 2019. New facts were uncovered by Maj. Murphy from a grant proposal made to DARPA by the New York-based EcoHealth Alliance in March 2018 and "not publicly disclosed," he stated.

The proposal was made in response to DARPA’s Project Defuse, aimed at addressing what the agency called the threat posed by bat-borne coronaviruses. SARS-CoV-2 is a bat coronavirus.

The proposal lists several U.S. researchers who would take part in the work and included the Wuhan Institute of Virology, located in the city considered the epicenter of the possible pandemic.

Sudan officer, protester killed in anti-coup protests
[DW] Sudanese anti-coup protesters stabbed a police general to death and security forces shot a demonstrator dead as pro-democracy rallies continued in Khartoum.

A senior police officer and a protester were killed on Thursday in another day of mass protests against military rule in Sudan.

The officer was on duty at protests in Khartoum when he was killed, the police said in a statement on Facebook. He is the first security official to die in weeks of often violent mostly peaceful unrest. Local media reported he was stabbed to death.

Medics aligned with the protest movement said security forces killed a protester when they fired live ammunition and tear gas. Authorities have repeatedly denied using live ammunition in confronting protesters.

DEADLY CRACKDOWN ON ANTI-COUP PROTESTERS
Sudan has been in turmoil since October 25, 2021, when the military dismissed Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok's transitional government and declared a state of emergency.

It derailed Sudan's transition to democratic rule after three decades of repression and international isolation under autocratic leader Omar al-Bashir
...Former President-for-Life of Sudan He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself head cheese. He fell out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Hee was overthrown by popular consent in 2019. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it...
Pro-democracy activists have organized regular demonstrations against the military takeover. At least 64 protesters have been killed and hundreds of others injured in the violence.

UN TALKS TO RESOLVE POST-COUP CRISIS
Before the military takeover, a sovereign council of military and civilian officials ruled Sudan. It was supposed to oversee the transition period until elections in 2023.

On Monday, the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
started consultations that they hoped would lead to direct negotiations to resolve the crisis.

Demonstrators insist that a fully civilian government lead the transition, a demand rejected by the generals who say power will only be handed over to an elected government.

BREAKING: Waukesha County Judge Deals HUGE BLOW to Democrats ‐ Bans Use of Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes in Wisconsin
[GP] Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bohren issued a summary judgment decision on Thursday banning ballot drop boxes in the state. Judge Bohren also banned illegal ballot harvesting in the state.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) issued memos to Wisconsin clerks in March and August of 2020 encouraging their use, stating that absentee ballots do not need to be mailed by the voter or delivered by the voter, in person, to the municipal clerk, but instead could be dropped into a drop box. According to WEC, ballot drop boxes can be unstaffed, temporary, or permanent.

This advice was contrary to state law.

Joe Biden won the state after a stunning drop of Biden only ballots in the middle of the night following the election.

Democrats Now Demanding Proof of ID to Walk the Streets of Nation's Capital ‐ But NOT to Vote
[GP] The Democrats are going to ram through their "Right to Cheat" voting bill today.

It will be the end of the great American experiment.

After they allegedly "won" the most votes ever with their uninspiring basement candidate Joe Biden they somehow feel the need to legalize cheating in elections.

The U.S. Senate adjourned Thursday night without taking up voting rights legislation that passed in the House earlier in the day.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had wanted to put the legislation to a vote before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, according to The Hill.

However, citing an incoming storm and COVID-19, Schumer said the Senate would take up the legislation on Tuesday.

The bill was dealt a blow earlier Thursday when Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona said she is not in favor of changing Senate rules to bypass the filibuster.

Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin, who has also said won't eliminate the filibuster, reportedly made a stop at the White House Thursday to meet with President Joe Biden. It's unclear whether they will ultimately help the president get a signature piece of his agenda passed.

Gateway Pundit was a tad overexcited, thank goodness — it was only rammed through in the House.

Belgium expels imam who called for burning of Jews
[IsraelTimes] Belgium expels imam who called for burning of Jews

Mohammed Toujgani’s remarks from 2009 recently resurfaced, leading government to withdraw his residency permit for 10 years, citing national security threat

A Moroccan a holy man who called for the "burning of Jews" in a 2009 video was banned from Belgium in October as a national security threat, the government said Thursday.

First revealed by Belgian broadcaster VRT, the expulsion was confirmed by the Belgian Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, Sammy Mahdi.

"This man was probably the most influential preacher in Belgium," Mahdi told a session of Belgian parliament.

Mohammed Toujgani preached until last year at the al-Khalil mosque in Molenbeek, one of the largest places of worship for Moslems in Belgium.

A statement said his residence permit was withdrawn on October 12.
Is that the same as ensuring that he actually leaves the country rather than remaining “illegally”?
Toujgani "has been controversial for some time. In 2009, he again called for the burning of Jews," the statement added.

The video resurfaced in 2019, said VRT, noting that Toujgani had apologized for his remarks, citing "a slip" related to what he called "a war" waged by Israel against Paleostinians in the Gazoo

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. Toujgani, who is head of the League of Moroccan Imams in Belgium,

was under surveillance by Belgium’s domestic intelligence agency.

Mahdi said he decided on the 10-year ban "on the basis of information from the security services" and "because of signs of a serious danger to national security."

"We will not tolerate those who divide and threaten our national security," he said.

Mahdi told MPs that Toujgani was no longer in Belgium. According to VRT, Toujgani intends to contest his expulsion.

The imam, who has been in Belgium for 40 years, has a wife and children living in the country, according to VRT.

The al-Khalil mosque, located in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, is run by the Islamic Mutual Aid League (LEI), which describes itself as "the largest Moslem institution in Belgium."

It has training centers and an Arabic language school for 500 children and teenagers.

Belgian authorities have tightened their scrutiny of religious activities in Molenbeek since the deadly terrorist attacks of Gay Paree and Brussels in 2015-16.

The attacks were planned by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....

US approves release of Somali man from notorious Guantanamo Bay prison
More on yesterday’s story of their release. Kenyan Mohammed Abdul Malik Bajabu and Yemenis Omar Muhammad Ali al-Rammah and Suhayl al-Sharabi are also to be released.
[Garowe] The United States has approved the release of a Somali prisoner from Guantanamo Bay prison, over 17 years after his arrest and subsequent detention without trial, despite complaints from his family.
According to the Geneva Conventions, captured soldiers in uniform are held as prisoners of war until a signed peace treaty ends the war. Illegal combatants can be given a summary court martial by their captors or even more summarily shot in the field. President George W. Bush decided these particular captives ought to be exploited for their intelligence value...

Supreme Court Blocks Business Vaccine Rule, Declines to Stay Health Care Worker Mandate
[THEEPOCHTIMES] The Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
on Thursday blocked the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us...
’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for private businesses but decided to let a separate regulation that requires health care workers to get a vaccine take effect.

In a 6—3 ruling, justices halted the mandate for all private employers with 100 or more workers, ruling the states and companies that challenged the rule were likely to succeed.

Biden administration officials had argued that the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1970 gave them the authority to impose the mandate, but a majority of justices disagreed.

"Applicants are likely to succeed on the merits of their claim that the Secretary lacked authority to impose the mandate. Administrative agencies are creatures of statute. They accordingly possess only the authority that Congress has provided. The Secretary has ordered 84 million Americans to either obtain a COVID—19 vaccine or undergo weekly medical testing at their own expense. This is no ’everyday exercise of federal power.’ It is instead a significant encroachment into the lives—and health—of a vast number of employees," the majority wrote in a slip opinion.

Have you tried to steal deadly viruses from the US biolaboratory in Alma-Ata?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Aleksandr Kots

[KP] For residents of the outskirts of Alma-Ata, it is not at all a secret that in their neighborhood there is an object on which a state-rebuilt facility is located, on which, until recently, US military doctors and scientists worked in the strictest secrecy.

- Why didn't your peacekeepers take this center under protection? - Asked me the woman, whom I so directly and asked the way to the American biological laboratory.

For residents of the outskirts of Alma-Ata, it is not at all a secret that next to them there is an object rebuilt by the states, on which, until recently, US military doctors and scientists worked in the strictest secrecy. They placed their "Central Reference Laboratory" on the basis of the National Scientific Center for Especially Dangerous Infections named after Masgut Aikimbaev.

Information appeared on social networks that on January 6, at the height of the pogroms, terrorists seized and plundered the Center. Considering that we are talking about research on deadly viruses and their strains, the consequences of this could be catastrophic. However, the information about the looting was not confirmed. But in those days a certain group of people still tried to get inside.

The perimeter of the Center is impressive. Thick fences with a double layer of barbed wire, gate locks, as in the most guarded strategic objects, cameras, as in a television reality show. In short, atypical for medical and scientific institutions. Behind the checkpoint is the very laboratory, to the first floor of which, according to some media reports, terrorists managed to break through.

In fact, as local residents told me, the attackers broke only one of the checkpoint windows. Now it is covered with a carpet. However, the window is protected by a lattice, with which the bandits could not cope.

- These are all fakes! - cut off a man who left the checkpoint and introduced himself as a security officer. But I couldn't explain anything about the window.

It is curious that, according to unofficial data, representatives of the CSTO proposed to include this center in the list of objects guarded by peacekeepers. However, the Kazakh side assured that it will cope on its own. Although the strengthening of the security regime around him is not visible. Neither an armored personnel carrier nor, at least, a patrol car.

Who the attackers were is unknown, it is unlikely that ordinary marauders were interested in the contents of American laboratories. Probably, some forces were not very persistent, but still tried to gain access to what could be used as biological weapons.

This facility is one of a whole network of similar ones deployed in almost all the former Soviet republics. Judging by the open data, new strains of plague, smallpox, anthrax, cholera, brucella and other deadly diseases are being studied there and the ways of their spread.

At the same time, this is a coincidence, over the years of functioning of such biolaboratories, outbreaks of dangerous diseases have been recorded on the territory of these countries. For example, for the Uzbek center, opened in 2007, the Pentagon allocated a grant to study brucellosis.

A year later, a sharp jump in this disease was recorded in the region. And in 2013, in the Alma-Ata laboratory, research began on the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever and its spread by ticks. A year later, biologists noted an outbreak of fever carried by these insects. Some experts believe that this is the result of field tests. However, at the state level, investigations of infectious outbreaks were not conducted anywhere.

First of Russian airborne troops return to Ivanovo
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] Russian paratroopers carrying out a peacekeeping mission in Kazakhstan began to return to their units, the press service of the Ministry of Defense said.

"The first units of Russian paratroopers from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO , performing tasks to protect socially significant facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, having flown four Il-76md aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces military transport aviation from the Alma-Ata airfield to the Ivanovo-Severny airfield, returned to the point permanent deployment," said in the release.

Mass protests in Kazakhstan began in the early days of 202. Residents of the cities of Zhanaozen and Aktau in the west of the country opposed a twofold increase in prices for liquefied petroleum gas. Later, the actions spread to other cities, including Alma-Ata . People took to the streets, clashes with the security forces and looting began.

On January 5, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed the government and ordered the regulation of fuel sales prices, but unrest continued. He also headed the Security Council, at the first meeting of which he called the situation "undermining the integrity of the state."

In addition, the country's president turned to the CSTO for help . The organization sent a collective peacekeeping force to the country to normalize the situation.

On January 7, the head of state announced that terrorists, including those who arrived from abroad, continued to resist, and promised to destroy those who did not lay down their arms. In addition, he noted that all the demands of citizens, expressed in peaceful forms, were heard.

Against the background of the stabilization of the situation, the CSTO peacekeepers, who were involved in the protection of important objects, began to transfer them to local specialized departments.

Until January 19, a state of emergency is in effect throughout the republic.

Biden Appears Visibly Flustered, Defeated in Post-Sinema Speech Interview
[REDSTATE] It’s been 48 hours since President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. An incredibly corrupt version of Jar-Jar Binks, only well into his dotage. The dumbass who abandoned Afghanistan....
gave a train wreck of a speech in Georgia and told the American people that if you don’t agree with changing the Senate rules on the filibuster and/or federalizing elections, you are no better than prominent racist Democrats of the past including Bull Connor, George Wallace, and Jefferson Davis.

For those who believed Biden’s campaign promises of being a "uniter in chief," it was a shocking moment, a dramatic turning point in his presidency. For the rest of us who have long been familiar with Joe Biden’s history of fanning the flames of racism for political gain including trying to sabotage the SCOTUS confirmation of Clarence Thomas, it was further evidence that Joe Biden is who we’ve always said he is: one of the most ruthless, cutthroat people in politics when he doesn’t get his way.

What’s happened in that 48 hours since Biden went full-metal woke in front of that Georgia crowd? He’s been roundly criticized, not just by the right but by some on the left as well, including the Senate’s second in command Dick Durbin
...Senator-for-Life from Illinois and Democratic Party Whip. In April 2006, Time magazine identified Durbin as one of America's 10 Best Senators, so what's that tell you? He was the first United States Senator to support the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama, then the junior senator from Illinois...
. Much worse than that for him, though, the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
just blocked him on the private workplace vaccine mandate.

On top of that, Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema
...Dem senatrix from Arizona. She began her political career in the Arizona Green Party and rose to prominence for her progressive advocacy, supporting causes such as LGBTQ rights and opposing the war on terror. She left the Green Party to join the Arizona Democratic Party in 2004 and was elected to a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2012. After her election, she joined the New Democrat Coalition, the Blue Dog Coalition and the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, amassing one of the most conservative voting records in the Democratic caucus. She won the 2018 Senate election to replace the retiring Jeff Flake, defeating Republican nominee Martha McSally. Sinema is the first openly bisexual (meaning she's not particular) and the second openly LGBT woman to be elected to the House of Representatives and to the Senate in 2012 and 2018, respectively. She also was the first woman elected to the Senate from Arizona....
took to the Senate floor earlier today to let Biden know in so many words that his smear tactics from Tuesday will not work on her, and that she is still committed to preserving the filibuster, which pretty much guarantees his agenda will be nuked.

After Sinema’s speech, fellow Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin
...Dem senator-for-life from West Virginia. Manchin is one of the approximately one (okay, two) Dem senators who exhibits more integrity than Jello, often even representing his constituents...
endorsed her statement, saying that "I think it’s the points that I’ve been making for an awful long time and she has, too."

With one loss after another piling up on Biden after his failed attempt
...Curses! Foiled again!...
at strong-arming his political opposition, he appeared before the cameras a couple of hours ago after a private meeting with Senate Democratic leaders (Sinema gave her speech a few minutes prior to that meeting), and the signs of defeat were there. Gone was the "we will get this done" attitude we’ve heard and seen from him in the past. In its place? A visibly flustered Biden, who acknowledged that he didn’t know if "we can get it done".

Africa North
Egypt is changing
Developing the theme of Egypt legalizing churches, not to mention the new capitol city they’ve built to take the pressure off Cairo. I very much hope President Sisi really is making permanent the changes Egypt has needed this century or longer.
[AlAhram] In order to renew my weapon licence, I was required to take a medical examination that had not been required previously. The Ministry of the Interior stipulated that this medical exam should be administered at its Security Camp in Medinat al-Salam off the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road. I kept postponing going there, unable to face the prospect of confusion and chaos to which government departments have accustomed us for decades. Perhaps Egypt is one of those rare where dealing with the bureaucracy requires a fixer, a person who bears the brunt of the red tape, all those documents and stamps, journeys in and out of offices and convoluted procedures usually ending with "Come back tomorrow". You cannot send a fixer to take a medical exam in your stead, however.

That is how I ended up going to the camp in the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, come what may. But there was a surprise in store, starting at the camp gate where I found a decent man awaiting for me as if he knew beforehand of my arrival time, which he couldn’t have. I’d made up my mind to get rid of that weapon, which I inherited from my father and is of no use to me. I only ever remember once a year for fear of becoming the owner of an unlicenced weapon. The man asked for my identity card and handed me a receipt informing me that they would ask for it inside, then he gave detailed directions to the person who was driving me.

As for the second surprise, it was the medical building, which I found tidy and clean, and I was guided to go to one of the upper floors through an elevator in good condition. When I reached the intended place, I found a woman who seemed to be a nurse or doctor’s assistant. She collected everyone’s papers in an orderly way before leading us to a spacious, clean hall, clarifying that there was a cafeteria attached for those who might want to use it. She left us all in shock. A few minutes later the same nurse came to accompany me to the examination room where a qualified specialist examined me for internal, ophthalmological and psychological faults before asking me to go back to the hall where they would hand me the certificate.

In the hall I ran into a friend, Mahmoud Murad, the son of the late politician Mustafa Kamel Murad, with whom I have old family ties. I noticed he was accompanied by an acquaintance, a police general with enough official clout to ease the bureaucratic burden. But the whole process took less than an hour and went very smoothly — a very pleasant experience.

It may be argued that this camp is the exception, but in the same week I was similarly surprised at the Tax Authority in Maadi. An elegant venue that had me wondering whether I got the address wrong, a polite and efficient receptionist, and smiling babus government employees all confirmed my belief that Egypt is indeed changing. It is changing in silence, without hubbub but in gradual steps that some may not even notice. For the development that Egypt is witnessing right now isn’t confined, as some propagate, to constructing roads and bridges. Bridges are what everybody sees every day but we are also building the biggest solar power plant in the world and the biggest fish farm in the Middle East, and we are clearly modernising government services. I have no doubt that the new republic will see the same kind progress in every other aspect of life after ending emergency law, declaring a National Strategy for Human Rights and reorganising the National Council for Human Rights — not to mention the recent prison releases.

#1  The degree of freedom you have under any government is tied directly to the amount of corruption, in inverse proportions. Inefficiency and high administrative headcounts (featherbedding, nepotism) are the breeding ground for corruption.

Yes, it is to be hoped Egypt is becoming less corrupt and more free. At the end of the day, the competitive advantages of low corruption are a benefit in the global economy that can't be achieved by any other means.

#1  Repost from last night sorry but David P. "Spengler" Goldman is on the case -- this means the real inflation rate i.e. that includes the cost of shelter is more like 11-12%.

Reason: they're not accounting for the rise in the cost of shelter (rent, mainly). Try 12% total inflation rate. Economist Goldman ("Spengler"):

Worst Inflation Since '82 is Huge Underestimate

This time, the CPI rent inflation rate of 4.2% undershot the private rental data. As old leases expire and new leases are written, the CPI index for shelter should rise by 14 percentage points. Shelter makes up 32.3% of the CPI, so 14 percentage points in the cost of shelter would add another 4.5 percentage points to the headline inflation number.
Posted by: Merrick Ferret || 01/14/2022 0:28 Comments || Top||

#2  The Shelter component of the CPI is based partly on rents and partly on the 'equivalent rent of a primary residence'. The latter is determined by a structured interview of homeowners where they guess at what they would get in rent if it was rented out. This is obviously a subjective method but this second component has, over the years, lagged the rent prices by many months. So, yes, there is a lot of increase baked into the 2022 shelter index but probably not as much as inflaton hawks estimate.

Europe
Germany: Syrian torture on trial
[DW] A German court has found a Syrian former army colonel guilty of crimes against humanity, handing him a life sentence. It was a landmark trial to examine state-sponsored torture during the Syrian civil war.

A German court convicted a former Syrian colonel of crime against humanity and sentenced him to life in prison on Thursday.

Anwar Raslan was found guilty of 27 counts of murder, rape and sexual assault carried out at the al-Khatib detention center near Damascus.

The former intelligence officer was tried under the legal principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows the prosecution of crimes in one country even if they happened elsewhere.

He is the highest-ranking Syrian officer so far convicted of crimes against humanity.

"This trial cast a much-needed, renewed spotlight on the kinds of sickening torture, cruel and truly inhuman treatment — including abject sexual violence — that countless Syrians were subjected to in detention facilities," UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said.

She urged other states to prosecute international crimes using universal jurisdiction.

WHAT WAS RASLAN ACCUSED OF?
The 58-year-old former colonel had denied committing torture or giving instructions for others to commit torture.

Prosecutors said Raslan was responsible for the torture of at least 4,000 people in the notorious al-Khatib prison in the Syrian city of Douma, in 2011 and 2012 — during the early stages of the Syrian Civil War.

They said he supervised interrogations including "electric shocks," beatings with "fists, wires and whips," rape and sexual abuse, and sleep deprivation.

The mistreatment had served to coerce confessions and obtain information, the prosecution said.

The court sentenced him to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 15 years.

Raslan's lawyer said he would appeal the verdict.

More than 80 witnesses testified during the trial about the "catastrophic conditions" in the detention center.

They took the stand despite "great fear of the Syrian regime, whether for themselves or for their families," said judge Anne Kerber. "I owe them my full respect."

RIGHTS GROUPS WELCOME VERDICT
The trial could set a precedent for future proceedings against Syrian officials who committed crimes during the war in Syria.

Executive Director for Human Rights Watch Kenneth Roth told DW that Syria never joined the International Criminal Court, and China and Russia have "blocked" access to the court through the UN Security Council through their veto.

For this reason, "a number of governments, Germany included, helped to circumvent the veto in the UN Security Council by going to the UN General Assembly and getting it to create what's known as the International Independent Impartial Mechanism [IIIM]."

The result is that survivors of torture and chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented except among devout Moslems...
attacks have been left with limited options to seek justice until now.

According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group, at least 60,000 people have been killed under torture or as a result of the terrible conditions in Syrian detention centers.

Texas judge rules apprehension of illegal immigrant by soldiers during Gov Greg Abbott's 'Operation Lone Star' along Rio Grande was UNCONSTITUTIONAL, opening floodgates for claims from others arrested
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • Operation Lone Star was created by Abbott amidst a wave of illegal immigrants from Honduras and El Salvador crossing the US-Mexico border

  • Judge Jan Soifer ruled in favor of Jesus Alberto Guzman Curipoma, an Ecuadorian engineer arrested in September and charged with trespassing

  • Angelica Cogliano, Curipoma's lawyer, said that Operation Lone Star was unconstitutional because it tries to supersede federal immigration law

  • She added that Curipoma was jailed rather than being considered for asylum, which is within his right

New Mexico mother pleads not guilty to dumping newborn in dumpster
[NYPOST] A New Mexico woman who allegedly confessed to abandoning her newborn in a dumpster has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
Alexis Avila, 18, who police say confessed to deserting her newborn boy in a dumpster behind a mall in Hobbs on Friday, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of attempted first-degree murder and child abuse, KCBD reported.

A judge ordered Avila, of Hobbs, to stay under house arrest until her trial. She’s also ordered to wear an ankle monitor, barred from using social media and cannot be around any child under the age of 10.

"If you go somewhere, I’ll be notified and you’ll go straight to jail," Lea County Judge William Shoobridge told Avila during her arraignment.

Police in Hobbs have said the baby was rushed to a hospital after being found in the dumpster Friday. Investigators later retrieved surveillance video that showed Avila pulling a black trash bag out of a car and tossing it into the container, according to charging documents obtained by The Post.

Some six hours later, a woman and two men found the newborn while looking in the dumpster for "anything of value," police said.

U.K. government says vaccinated are dying at a rate 286% higher than unvaccinated
[NATURALNEWS] The latest data from the British government shows a disturbing trend among the "fully vaccinated," who are very clearly dying at a significantly higher rate than the unvaccinated.
Grain of salt called for. Site's full of herbal stuff.
According to the figures, there are 286 percent more deaths occurring now among people who got jabbed for the Wuhan coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
(Covid-19) compared to people who left their immune systems and DNA alone.

Upwards of one million people have suffered serious injuries or died so far from the shots. And this is a conservative estimate based on official government data, which is known to be underreported.

EU Warns Repeat Boosters Could Weaken Immune System

Here is thorough and clear overview of the reasons the "vaccine" (it's really super-risky gene therapy) may well create more health risks than it protects against. Excerpt:

"People don’t realize that these vaccines are vastly different from the many childhood vaccines we are now used to getting early in life. I find it shocking that the vaccine developers and the government officials across the globe are wrecklessly pushing these vaccines on an unsuspecting population. Together with Dr. Greg Nigh, I recently published a peer-reviewed paper on the technology behind the mRNA vaccines and the many potentially unknown consequences to health .

"Such unprecedented vaccines normally take twelve years to develop, with only a 2% success rate, but these vaccines were developed and brought to market in less than a year. As a consequence, we have no direct knowledge of any effects that the vaccines might have on our health over the long term. However, knowledge about how these vaccines work, how the immune system works and how neurodegenerative diseases come about can be brought to bear on the problem in order to predict potential devastating future consequences of the vaccines.

"The mRNA in these vaccines codes for the spike protein normally synthesized by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, both the mRNA and the protein it produces have been changed from the original version in the virus with the intent to increase rate of production of the protein in an infected cell and the durability of both the mRNA and the spike protein it codes for.

"Additional ingredients like cationic lipids and polyethylene glycol are also toxic with unknown consequences. The vaccines were approved for emergency use based on grossly inadequate studies to evaluate safety and effectiveness.

"Our paper showed that there are several mechanisms by which these vaccines could lead to severe disease, including autoimmune disease, neurodegenerative diseases, vascular disorders (hemorrhaging and blood clots) and possibly reproductive issues.

"There is also the risk that the vaccines will accelerate the emergence of new strains of the virus that are no longer sensitive to the antibodies produced by the vaccines. When people are immune compromised (e.g., taking chemotherapy for cancer), the antibodies they produce may not be able to keep the virus in check because the immune system is too impaired. Just as in the case of antibiotic resistance, new strains evolve within an infected immune-compromised person’s body that produce a version of the spike protein that no longer binds with the acquired antibodies.

"These new strains quickly come to dominate over the original strain, especially when the general population is heavily vaccinated with a vaccine that is specific to the original strain. This problem is likely going to necessitate the repeated rollout of new versions of the vaccine at periodic intervals that people will have to receive to induce yet another round of antibody production in an endless game of cat and mouse.

"Like the mRNA vaccines, the DNA vaccines are based on novel biotech gene editing techniques that are brand new, so they too are a massive experiment unleashed on a huge unsuspecting population, with unknown consequences... ."

there doesn’t appear to be any information about an anticipated delegation or foreign dignitary. Additionally, according to one researcher on social media {LINK}, all of the publicly available CCTV video-streams have been disabled as this work is taking place.

The perimeter fence appears to be approximately 10′ high and is made from reinforced concrete k-rails. It is also being installed directly around the White House building itself.

group, a war monitor reported Thursday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors casualties of the decade-old conflict, said the overnight strikes focused on an area between Palmyra and al-Sukhna.

"The jihadist organization's members hide in caves in this area," Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.

The strikes killed 11 IS fighters and maimed around 20 others, some of them seriously, he said.

Abdel Rahman said he had counted a total of 229 Russian airstrikes against targets in the Syrian desert already this year.

Thursday's strikes were the deadliest of their kind since November when the Observatory reported 16 killed in jihadist ranks.

The remnants of IS mostly went back to their desert hideouts from which they continue to harass the Syrian government and allied forces.

The group is thought to be attempting to secure sources of funding through trafficking and racketeering, prompting observers to warn of a jihadist resurgence in the region.

Iraqi Intelligence Agency destroys three IS hideouts in Anbar desert

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) hideouts deep in the Anbar desert, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday.

The Iraqi News Agency reported that the Security Media Cell said in a statement that the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior continues its proactive qualitative operations, and according to the confessions of one of the arrested holy warriors and his evidence, the detachments managed to destroy three hideouts for ISIS terrorist gangs.

The IS holy warriors used the hideouts as warehouses for logistical support, including food, spare wheels, and a fuel station, the statement read.

"The dens that were destroyed included a den in the Ma’il al-Qadh area, 100 kilometres into the desert. The dens were established inside the mountain to be a safehouse for the terrorists. The safehouse consisted of four rooms, a hall, and a kitchen."

The statement also indicated that there was another den in the Jalabat area, 150 kilometres into the desert, that was used as a haven for IS bad boys.

"The Jalabat den was considered a warehouse for logistical support of food materials and a fuel station consisting of drums of gasoline, gas cylinders, and spare materials," the statement read.

Furthermore, another hideout in the Jalabat area was destroyed. It reportedly contained foodstuffs, medical materials, and sleeping mats, along with two improvised bombs that were confiscated by the agency’s men.

Security forces have also destroyed a vehicle used by IS murderous Moslems that was used for kidnapping and interrogating individuals in the area of the Atbel Valley, according to the statement.

-Land of the Free
Oath Keepers leader, 10 others charged in seditious plot to breach U.S. Capitol during January 6
[CNBC] Federal authorities on Thursday charged Stewart Rhodes, the leader and founder of the Death Eater far-right Oath Keepers militia, and 10 other people with seditious conspiracy and other crimes for their alleged roles in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

An indictment alleges that after the November 2020 presidential election, Rhodes and others conspired to oppose by force the transfer of presidential power from then-President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
to Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier. Of course Corn Pop is a real person....
, which included plans to breach and try to take control of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The conspiracy allegedly involved the amassing of firearms on the outskirts of Washington, D.C, and distribution to so-called quick reaction force teams to support the effort to keep Trump in office, according to the indictment, issued by a grand jury in DC federal court.

That charging document is based in part on access to encrypted messages on the Signal app that federal authorities obtained access to.

The charge of seditious conspiracy carries a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison.

Rhodes, a 56-year-old former U.S. Army paratrooper who live in Granbury, Texas, was arrested early Thursday afternoon. He was subpoenaed in November by the House of Representatives select committee that is investigating the riot,.

Rhodes is known to have been outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan., 6, 2021, when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the complex and breached its buildings in an effort to disrupt an ongoing session of Congress confirming the election of Biden.

Members and affiliates of the Oath Keepers were among the crowd that forcibly rushed into the Capitol past law enforcement officers.

Stewart Rhodes’ lawyer, Jonathon Moseley, told NBC News that he was on the phone with his client talking about his scheduled appearance before the House panel when the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
came to Rhodes’ house to arrest him."

Also indicted was Edward Vallejo, 63, of Phoenix, Arizona, who was arrested Thursday morning in that city, authorities said.

Neither Rhodes nor Vallejo had been previously charged in connection with the riot.

Nine others who had been previously charged in connection with the riot also were indicted Thursday, according to authorities.

They are: Thomas Caldwell, 67, of Berryville, Va; Joseph Hackett, 51, of Sarasota, Fla.; Kenneth Harrelson, 41, of Titusville, Fla.; Joshua James, 34, of Arab, Ala.; Kelly Meggs, 52, of Dunnellon, Fla.; Roberto Minuta, 37, of Prosper, Texas; David Moerschel, 44, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; Brian Ulrich, 44, of Guyton, Ga.; and Jessica Watkins, 39, of Woodstock, Ohio.

James and Minuta reportedly have acted as bodyguards for Roger Stone, the longtime GOP operative and confidant of Trump. Stone did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on the indictment.

Less than a month after the riot, the Justice Department charged Caldwell, who allegedly held a leadership role within the Oath Keepers, of conspiracy, obstructing an official proceeding and other charges.

A defense attorney told a judge last year that the Navy veteran Caldwell previously worked for the FBI and maintained a top-secret security clearance for years.

The Justice Department in a blurb said, "Eight other individuals affiliated with the Oath Keepers, all previously charged in the investigation, remain as defendants in two related cases."

THE 11 DEFENDANTS CHARGED WITH SEDITIOUS CONSPIRACY
Elmer Stewart Rhodes, 56, from Granbury, Texas, founder of the Oath Keepers far-right group, is accused of planning the militia's attack on the US Capitol.

Rhodes did not breach the building but was said to be in a restricted area of Capitol grounds, from where he coordinated the actions of the militiamen, who was seen marching in formation, dressed in tactical gear.

Edward Vallejo, 63, from Phoenix, Arizona, is accused of coordinating quick reaction force teams during the January 6 Capitol attack.

Vallejo was described in the indictment as standing at the ready near a hotel in Washington DC with guns and vehicles.

He was quoted as writing in a group chat on the encrypted messaging app Signal: 'Vallejo back at the hotel and outfitted. Have two trucks available. Let me know how I can assist.'

Thomas Caldwell, 67, of Berryville, Virginia, on January 3 allegedly suggested in a text message getting a boat to ferry weapons across the Potomac River to their 'waiting arms.'

During a search of Caldwell's home, authorities said they found a 'Death List' that included the name of an elected official, and invoices for various weapons, including a gun shaped like a cellphone.

Caldwell has denied being a member of the Oath Keepers, and his lawyer filed documents alleging that he has had a top-security clearance since 1979 and previously worked for the FBI.

Joseph Hackett, 51, of Sarasota, Florida, a chiropractor, is accused of leading the local chapter of the Oath Keepers coordinating training, planning, travel, and action with Rhodes.

According to the indictment, Hackett paid for a hotel room in DC from January 5-7, 2021.

It alleges Hackett and others 'prepared themselves for battle before heading to the Capitol by equipping themselves with communication devices and donning reinforced vests, helmets, and goggles.'

Kenneth Harrelson, 41, of Titusville, Florida, a US Army veteran, was photographed inside the Capitol Rotunda with members of Oath Keepers.

He is accused of being among a group of rioters who were hunting for House Speaker Nancy during the insurrection.

One of co-conspirators allegedly texted Harrelson and asked he make 'Pelosi's head [roll] down the steps of the Capitol.'

Joshua James, 34, of Arab, Alabama, owns a cleaning company. Photos from before the riot show him 'providing security' to speakers at the Stop the Steal rally.

Kelly Meggs, 52, of Dunnellon, Florida, was arrested and charged with his wife Connie.

The Meggses are accused of conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, destruction of government property, and other crimes.

He is also accused of colluding with Proud Boys to storm the Capitol.

At the beginning of this year the Meggses sued the House select committee investigating the insurrection, saying their subpoena for their phone records was unlawful.

Roberto Minuta, 37, of Prosper, Texas, was part of the 'guard' for Roger Stone.

In response to a call for individuals to storm the Capitol after it had been breached, Minuta and Joshua James drove to the Capitol with others in a pair of golf carts.

During this time, they swerved 'around law enforcement vehicles' with Minuta allegedly asserting: 'Patriots are storming the Capitol... so we're en route in a grand theft auto golf cart to the Capitol building right now... it's going down guys; it's literally going down right now Patriots storming the Capitol building...'

David Moerschel, 44, of Punta Gorda, Florida, was seen in FBI images wheeling a long gun case in to a hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

He is seen on footage inside the Capitol next to Graydon Young, a man from Englewood who pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the FBI.

Brian Ulrich, 44, of Guyton, Georgia, had been previously charged in the investigation.

He began planning for the riot a week prior and had joined an online group to discuss arrangements.

On the day of the attack, Ulrich allegedly formed a 'stack' formation and breached the Capitol grounds with other Oath Keepers and affiliates.

Jessica Watkins, 39, a bartender from Woodstock, Ohio, said that she was in DC to help with security for speakers at the Trump rally that took place right before the Capitol storming.

She is also claiming the United States Secret Service was aware of her assisting in security efforts near the White House that day.

Iraq
Iraqi officials: 4 rockets target U.S. Embassy in Baghdad
[WASHINGTONTIMES] At least four rockets targeted the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone on Thursday, two Iraqi security officials said. The area is home to diplomatic missions and the seat of Iraq’s government.

Three of the missiles struck within the perimeter of the American Embassy, the officials said. Another hit a school located in a nearby residential complex. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

An Iraqi military statement said a girl and a woman were maimed in the attack, without providing more details. The statement said the rockets had been launched from the Dora neighborhood of Baghdad.

Witnesses said they heard the embassy’s C-RAM defense system — supposed to detect and destroy incoming rockets, artillery and mortar shells — during the attack.

The attack is the latest in a series of rocket and drone attacks that have targeted the American presence in Iraq since the start of the year, following the second anniversary of the U.S. strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qassim Soleimani and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Last Thursday, a series of attacks targeted American troops in Iraq and Syria. Rockets struck an Iraqi military base hosting U.S. troops in western Anbar province and the capital.

Utah, Minnesota face legal threats for using race as a factor to determine COVID treatment eligibility as non-whites were at greater risk for hospitalization
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • The Utah and Minnesota Department of Health both published guidelines for medical professionals to consider race and ethnicity as risk factors for COVID-19

  • The Utah agency also asks doctors to use risk score cards that give "non-white" status two extra points when determining eligibility for antibody treatment

  • America First Legal, a conservative law group, called the policies racist and in violation of federal law for discrimination based on race

  • The Utah Department of Health defended its policy, citing that no one is eligible solely on race and that COVID has had greater impact in communities of color

Minnesotaremoves race as factor in rationing COVID-19 antibody treatment
New guidance for distributing scarce treatments came just as a conservative group challenged old rules.

Updated rationing guidance on Wednesday prioritizes infusions when they are in short supply for people who are immunocompromised or pregnant. It also gives preference to people who are older or have underlying conditions that increase their risk for severe COVID-19, but it switched to a scoring system that no longer considers race.
...
The policy switch occurred on the same day a conservative advocacy group, America First Legal, threatened to sue Minnesota and Utah, arguing that the states' racial preference policies were unfair.

Illinois judge slammed for reversing teen's rape conviction
[NYPOST] An Illinois judge is facing heat for reversing an 18-year-old man’s sexual assault conviction at the teen’s sentencing last week — saying the 148 days he spent in jail since his arrest was enough, reports said.Adams County Judge Robert Adrian issued the stunning reversal last Monday after finding Drew Clinton guilty of one count of criminal sexual assault at an October bench trial, the Herald-Whig reported.

"Mr. Clinton has served almost five months in the county jail, 148 days," Adrian said, according to a court transcript obtained by the newspaper.

"For what happened in this case, that is plenty of punishment. That would be a just sentence."

Clinton was convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at a graduation party last May.

He had faced a mandatory minimum sentence of four years. Adrian’s decision came after Clinton’s attorneys filed two post-trial motions and the judge ruled prosecutors failed to prove their case, the newspaper reported.

IRGC launched solid-fuel satellite rocket into space
[APNEWS] Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard last week launched a solid-fuel satellite carrier rocket into space, the country’s official IRNA news agency reported Thursday.
"We aimed for space and we hit it, accurately"
The report quoted Gen. Amirali Hajizadeh, chief of the Guard’s aerospace unit, as saying the test was successful. He said it marked the first time Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
used a solid-fuel rocket rather than a liquid-fuel one. He said Iran will produce lighter rocket engines in further space projects.

According to the general, the satellite carrier was made of a composite material instead of metal — something he claimed was "cost-efficient." Hajizadeh spoke to a group of holy mans in the city of Qom, the seat of seminaries in Iran. He said Iran strongly pursues its goals in aerospace and satellite industry.

However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
composites are in general more expensive to produce than their metal equivalents. Composites also make a rocket lighter so it can boost a heavier satellite or payload into orbit. State TV did not show any footage on the launch.

Satellite carriers usually use liquid fuel but solid-fuel rockets can be adapted for mobile launchers that can be driven anywhere on a major road or rail system. Pure solid-fuel rockets are mostly associated with ballistic missiles systems.

Germany ends military mission in Syria while extending it in Iraq
[Rudaw] Germany decided on Wednesday to end its military mission in Syria while keeping up to 500 soldiers in Iraq, reported state media.

The German government convened on Wednesday, deciding to end the mission of its army, Bundeswehr, in Syria but the force will continue supporting Iraqi forces in the fight against the Islamic State

(ISIS) until the end of October, according to Deutsche Welle.

Germany has been an essential member of the global coalition against ISIS. The Coalition was formally established in October 2014, after ISIS took control of vast swathes of territories in Iraq and Syria. Consisting of 84 nations, the US-led Coalition’s mission has been "degrading and ensuring ISIS’s enduring defeat," it says on its website, using Arabic acronym for the hard boy group.

The combat mission of the Coalition ended in Iraq at the end of the last year but it continues in Syria. German army has been mostly based in Kurdish areas of both countries.

The Bundeswehr will provide "air refueling, air transport, air surveillance and situational awareness capabilities as well as staff" to Iraqi forces, DW quoted Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht as saying.

The cabinet decisions have to be approved by the German parliament.

The decisions came days after Lambrecht visited Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The newly-appointed minister discussed ISIS with Iraqi and Kurdish officials.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed the extension of the German army’s deployment to Iraq. "ISIS is still a threat to International peace and security, and continued collective effort is required to counter and eradicate terror," he said in a tweet.

Acting Mayor Johnson announces public safety plan to tackle gun violence, car thefts and reckless driving in Milwaukee
[JSONLINE] With Milwaukee's Police Chief Jeffrey Norman standing by his side, Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson announced sweeping policy proposals Wednesday to help combat crime as Milwaukee faces rising homicides, gun violence, car thefts and reckless driving.

In the newly released strategy, the acting mayor aims to ramp up the city's law enforcement — including maintaining its level of sworn officers — to deal with the rising number of violent mostly peaceful crimes, create resources to promote community healing and provide neighborhood-level support to address the root causes of violence in Milwaukee.

"Milwaukee is in the midst of violence that is both unacceptable as well as unsustainable for the city," he said at a news conference at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch.

"The trauma affects too many people," he said. "And too many people have bit the dust, including kids, including children in our community."

Johnson's pronouncement comes after Milwaukee had another record-breaking year of homicides in 2021, with 205 reported killings. The previous year reported 190 homicides — more than double the number in 2019.

Additionally, more than 11,500 vehicles were stolen across Milwaukee in 2021 and 65 people died as a result of reckless driving last year, according to Johnson.

Reggie Moore, left, director of Violence Prevention Policy and Engagement at the Medical College of Wisconsin, talks with Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson following a news conference where Johnson shared his plans on public safety plans for the city.

Some of the new initiatives aim to work toward more long-term and sustainable approaches to improving health and safety across the city, including:

  • Maintaining the number of sworn police officers with the Milwaukee Police Department.

  • Increasing investments in reduced reckless driving and vehicle thefts. Johnson most recently presented his Safe Street Design, Traffic Enforcement, Accountability, Neighborhood Engagement, and Demand Progress plan (STAND).

  • Additional training for the Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments on diversity, cultural sensitivity, use of force and mental illness.

  • Working with the county to secure state and private funding for Crisis Assessment Response Team mental health services.

  • Investing more money into the city's Office of Violence Prevention.

  • Utilizing $22 million in Opioid Settlement funds to prevent substance abuse and overdoses.

  • Distributing gun locks and increasing public education efforts to promote safe and responsible gun ownership. There will be a focus on unregulated gun sales as well as restricting residents who are convicted of domestic violence from possessing firearms.

  • More:'Dealing with crisis then and there': How Milwaukee's teams of cops and counselors reach people struggling with mental health

The city aims to work with Republicans in the state Legislature to tighten up on firearms and explore possible reforms to the cash bail system.

Johnson — facing a stiff primary challenge in February to fill out the term of former Mayor Tom Barrett, who is the newly appointed ambassador to Luxembourg — wants to draw on state and federal funding, as well as community support, to help bolster citywide efforts to tackle Milwaukee's growing public safety concerns.

With a promise to maintain policing staffing levels, Johnson is seeking additional financial assistance from the state.

Man who tried to run over firefighter released on zero bail

[ALPHANEWS.ORG] A Minneapolis man who attempted to run over a firefighter with his vehicle was released from custody Monday with zero bail required by Hennepin County Judge Regina Chu.

According to a criminal complaint, 52-year-old Shawn Coates was following a woman in his pickup truck when she approached a Minneapolis fire station for help. One of the firefighters on duty directed the woman to "go into the fire station for safety" and told Coates to "move on."

Coates didn’t take this well. He called the firefighter a "motherf—," began spinning his tires, and eventually tried to run over the firefighter with his truck.

"Defendant actually turned the vehicle to Victim’s direction and drove his vehicle into the fire station garage doors. Victim had to move out of the way and step behind a garage door pillar to not be hit. Firefighters had to use an axe and other tools to disable the vehicle to stop Defendant from driving," the criminal complaint says.

But Coates didn’t stop there. He got out of his crashed vehicle, entered the fire station, and "squared up" to fight a fire captain. It was at this point that he was tackled to the ground by one of the first responders.

"You guys are pieces of s—, I’m coming back for you," he shouted as a group of firefighters pinned him to the ground.

Coates continued to demonstrate erratic behavior after his arrest and was heard "yelling loudly inside the jail through the heavy jail walls and door." It took several deputies to "hold and detain him," the complaint states.

Judge Chu decided to release Coates from custody Monday with zero bail required, Crime Watch Minneapolis first reported. Coates has been charged with two counts of attempted fourth-degree assault, one count of threats of violence, and one count of third-degree damage to property.

Chu is best known for presiding over the manslaughter trial of former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter. This is not the first time the Hennepin County judge has released violent mostly peaceful criminals back onto the streets. Earlier this month, she temporarily released a man from jail so he could attend a funeral, but he never came back.

Britain
Queen Elizabeth strips Prince Andrew of royal and military titles
[NYPOST] Prince Andrew was stripped of his military and royal titles Thursday — a day after a Manhattan judge allowed the sexual assault lawsuit against the disgraced royal to move forward."With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen," Buckingham Palace said of the 61-year-old prince.

A royal source confirmed that Andrew would no longer use the title "His Royal Highness" in any official capacity and his other roles would be distributed among other members of the royal family. He is, however, still listed on the royal family’s official website as ninth in line to the throne.

"The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen," the palace said of the sex-assault lawsuit against him.

Andrew’s monarch mom had already barred her middle son from performing royal duties amid the severe backlash sparked by his disastrous 2019 BBC interview justifying his friendship with pedophile Jeffrey Want Some Candy, Little Girl? Epstein
...A high class pimp financier who was alleged to maintain a stable of underage whores sex slaves who were paid big bucks to entertain the rich and/or famous. He is a registered sex offender and made at least 17 out-of-court settlements with former members of his stable, with some cases still ongoing. 2011 court docs reveal that 21 email addresses and phone numbers for Bill Clinton and an aide were found in Epstein's electronic black book, and that Clinton frequently flew with Epstein on his private plane between 2002 to 2005. But really, they were probably just discussing finance or politix or something. While getting massaged. Then things got serious, Jeff was tossed in the slammer in New York and then he killed himself. Really. That's what happened...
and now-convicted madam Ghislaine Maxwell.

The prince, a former Royal Navy helicopter pilot who flew in the 1982 Falklands War, initially retained his military titles.

They included vice admiral of the Royal Navy and honorary colonel of the Grenadier Guards, the stoic soldiers famed for guarding Buckingham Palace in their distinctive bearskin hats and red tunics.

The Queen’s decision Thursday followed mounting calls for Andrew to finally lose those titles.

#2  ...It's been pointed out that Andrew's actions during the Falklands War (short version: he hauled a radar reflector around on a chopper to lure EXOCET missiles away from the fleet) would have gotten anybody else a VC.

A shame his brains didn't match his b@lls.
