Health officials have come to refer to that as a "breakthrough case" of the disease. Of vaccine failure, under the old definition of the word "vaccine".
But some health experts say the term can be misleading and misconstrued, especially as new variants have emerged and vaccination rates across the country have slowed.
"I think it was setting the vaccine up for an impossible standard that vaccines can’t possibly meet," said Jennifer Nuzzo, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and the lead epidemiologist for the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Testing Insights Initiative. "There’s not a single vaccine that’s 100%," said Dr. Grant Fowler, family medicine department chair at TCU School of Medicine in Fort Worth. He also is chairman of the family medicine department at JPS Health Network. "Our whole goal is to [minimize COVID-19] in the population and protect the vulnerable." Nuzzo, who spoke last month at a webinar, said the term "breakthrough" may give people a false impression about the function of a vaccine.
"They’re not forcefields," she said. "They don’t repel the virus from your body."

These assholes have lied so many times, and moved the goalposts so many times, that there is literally nothing they claim now that can be believed.

Notice that both India and Russia refused the Pfizer and Moderna pseudo-vaccine experimental gene therapies and instead have gone with their own formulated, real ie traditional vaccines, plus sensible early treatments including HCQ, ivermectin and cocktails of azythromycin, zinc, vitamin D etc.
So now we have close to half the world's population laughing at the pretensions of the western bio-medical establishment and getting (in India's case, at least) superior results by ignoring our sssholes and going their own way.
I was never a vaxxer but it's obvious now that our bio-medical elites are incompetent and dangerously ignorant in all matters related to immunology and virology. They cannot be trusted any more than the global warming hysterics and their ridiculous "climate change models" can be trusted. End of an era.

The age <= 5 demographic has always been remarkably resistant to infection with COVID-19, their death #s are less than in the same demographic from influenza in an average influenza season. Unless & until health officials can explain why/how this is the case, they don't know what they're talking about.

[Breitbart] A six-time deported illegal alien has been found guilty of murdering three individuals in the sanctuary state of Oregon.
On June 27, 2016, illegal alien Bonifacio Oseguera-Gonzalez arrived at a housing unit where he had been living with fellow employees for a nearby blueberry farm.
While in the kitchen of the residence, Gonzalez fired a loaded gun at Edmundo Amando-Bajonero before shooting Refugio Modesto De La Cruz, Katie Gildersleeve, and Rigoberto Reyes-Mendoza.
While De La Cruz survived the gunshot wounds, Amando-Bajonero, Gildersleeve, and Reyes-Mendoza all died at the scene. Even as Gildersleeve tried to flee, Gonzalez chased her into the driveway, trying to shoot her again and eventually grabbing a knife to stab her.
Gonzalez, after his arrest, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder with a firearm and two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm. Prosecutors have since settled with Gonzalez, committing him to a lifetime of oversight by the state’s Psychiatric Security Review Board.
Should Gonzalez be released from the Oregon State Hospital at any time, he will carry out the remaining 25-year sentence under the jurisdiction of the Oregon Department of Corrections.
Gonzalez was first deported from the United States to Mexico in 2003 but was rearrested in Oregon in 2007 before being deported again. Gonzalez was arrested on local charges in Marion County, Oregon, in 2009 and was turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency for his third deportation.
In 2010, Gonzalez was twice arrested along the Arizona-Mexico border by U.S. Border Patrol agents and each time deported him to Mexico. He was last deported in 2013 after again illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. He returned to the U.S. at a later date.
Oregon has a rigid sanctuary state policy that bans public officials and law enforcement from cooperating with ICE agents — shielding criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation.

Mrs. Clinton couldn’t beat The Donald back when he was an unknown quantity, even with the entire establishment working to pull her over the finish line. I strongly believe she would be the perfect standard bearer for the Democratic Party two years from now, when campaigning from the basement won’t be possible.

[INVERSE] IT’S TIME for doctors to "aggressively" address high blood pressure when advising young adults, say the researchers behind a new preliminary analysis. This study suggests an association between having high blood pressure in early adulthood and an increased risk of brain changes later in life.
These changes can cause cognitive decline, which is when the brain has more difficulty with abilities like memory, awareness, judgment, and mental acuity. Two out of three Americans will experience some degree of cognitive decline by the time they are 70, but studies suggest disadvantaged groups experience the decline at a younger age — and in turn, experience more years impaired.
Prior studies also suggest Black individuals are more likely than white individuals to develop hypertension, and "have significantly faster decline in cognition," explains lead study author Christina Lineback, a vascular neurology fellow at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. There is new evidence that this may begin in young adults, she explains.

NEW YORK, Feb 14 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge said on Monday he will throw out Sarah Palin's defamation lawsuit against the New York Times (NYT.N), after concluding that an editorial in the newspaper did not maliciously link the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican U.S. vice presidential candidate to a mass murder.
In an abrupt twist in a trial seen as a test of longstanding protections for American media, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan said Palin's lawsuit must be dismissed because she failed to show the Times acted with "actual malice," the standard in lawsuits involving public figures.
The judge ruled on the trial's eighth day while jurors were still deliberating, and did not inform them of his plan. Rakoff said he plans to enter a formal dismissal only after jurors, who began deliberations on Friday, reach their own verdict.
Rakoff said he expected Palin to appeal, and that the appeals court "would greatly benefit from knowing how the jury would decide it."
His action effectively takes the case out of the hands of jurors. "If you see anything in the media about this case, just turn away," Rakoff told them before dismissing them for the day.

The progressive congresswoman explained to the New Yorker in an interview published Monday that Congress is a "s--t show" and is "scandalizing" every day.
"What is surprising to me is how it never stops being scandalizing," Ocasio-Cortez said. "Some folks perhaps get used to it, or desensitized to the many different things that may be broken, but there is so much reliance on this idea that there are adults in the room, and, in some respect, there are. But sometimes to be in a room with some of the most powerful people in the country and see the ways that they make decisions—sometimes they’re just susceptible to groupthink, susceptible to self-delusion."
She also suggested that the U.S. may no longer have a democracy in the years to come, prompting the interviewer to press her on the matter.
"I think there's a very real risk that we will not. What we risk is having a government that perhaps postures as a democracy, and may try to pretend that it is, but isn't," Ocasio-Cortez said, adding that she believes the country is at risk of returning to Jim Crow.
The Democrat claimed that the child tax credit expiring at the end of 2021 may have led to the crime spike in a number of U.S. cities.
"We don't want to say some of the things that are obvious, like, 'Gee, the child-tax credit just ran out, on December 31st, and now people are stealing baby formula.' We don't want to have that discussion," she said. "We want to say these people are criminals or we want to talk about 'people who are violent,' instead of 'environments of violence,' and what we’re doing to either contribute to that or dismantle that."
The child tax credit was included in the American Rescue Plan but expired at the end of December after Congress failed to pass Build Back Better or a standalone credit.
A $3,600 a year credit per child for parents of children under six, and a $3,000 a year credit per child for children between the ages of six and 18 was included in the American Rescue Plan. Now, after the expiration, parents will only receive the $2,000 per child credit included in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

[Free Beacon] A lawyer for the Clinton campaign in early 2017 gave computer data to the CIA that was obtained from the Trump White House and Trump Tower’s computer servers through a "sensitive" government contract, according to Special Counsel John Durham. Durham alleged in A Court Filing that Michael Sussmann, a cybersecurity lawyer who worked for the Clinton campaign, met with the CIA in February 2017 to provide the agency with a dossier of purported computer links between Trump and Russia. Sussmann obtained the sensitive data from a tech executive whose firm monitored web traffic for the White House executive office. Rodney Joffe, the executive, "exploited" the White House data, as well as that of Trump Tower and Donald Trump’s apartment building in Manhattan, in order to find "derogatory" information about Trump’s ties to Russia, according to Durham. The prosecutor said his investigators have found no evidence to support the information Sussmann passed to the CIA.
Durham leveled the explosive allegation in a court filing Friday as part of the federal case against Sussmann. He is Charged with lying to the FBI in September 2016 about the extent of his efforts to investigate Trump’s ties to Russia. He is also accused of withholding information from the CIA during his February 2017 meeting that undercut the theory of nefarious web links between Trump and Russia. Durham refers to the CIA as "Agency-2" throughout court filings, but news outlets have Confirmed the identify of the agency.
The court filing shows the extent to which Clinton operatives went to portray Trump as an agent of Russia. Sussmann’s fellow Clinton campaign lawyer, Marc Elias, commissioned the Steele dossier, which falsely accused Trump of colluding with Russia in order to win the 2016 election. Elias Briefed Clinton campaign officials, including current national security adviser Jake Sullivan, about the investigation of Trump. Sussmann and Elias also provided their findings to media outlets in order to prompt investigations into Trump.

I have had at least one patient who had a very similar injury. He was a lot older though. Lost his balance at home, fell backwards & slammed his head on the floor. Stayed conscious during & immediately after the fall. Brought to ER for a check. Had obvious signs of a basilar skull fracture on my exam. He was lucid without focal neuro symptoms. CT scan show evidence of multiple skull fractures with multiple areas of various hemorrhages in and around the brain. There was nothing physicians could do to help. He went into coma and was dead within a few hours. I know, this is an "anecdote" and so is a completely and totally worthless bit of evidence. It happens even without a "murderer" to blame.

A source told Shafaq News Agency that forces from Police and Emergency Regiments launched large-scale security operations in the Makhoul Mountains, near Al-Mashak Village, north of Baiji District, to find ISIS hideouts and militants.
