Hunter Biden Dam About To Burst? WaPo, CNN Go Scorched Earth Over 'Laptop From Hell'
[ZERO] As regular ZeroHedge readers know, the New York Post was excommunicated from social media shortly before the 2020 US election by Big Tech for reporting on shady international business dealings by the Biden family - particularly in Ukraine and China, contained within a trove of emails, text messages, photographs and financial documents that were on a laptop Hunter abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop in April 2019.

Could be with the Mid-Terms nearing, the MSM want to re-establish some NEWS credibility and rebuild Viewership? As I am willing to bet a large number of Liberals are pissed off for being used and lied to, to manipulate them.

Thus allowing them to push Fake NEWS ALERTS for the Mid-terms. Which by all reports, the LSD Politicians will get their A$$es handed to them. Opening up a number of congressional / DOJ inquiries in the 2020 election and special deals now not being addressed.

#3  The notion that Russians oppose Putin is a deep state fantasy. The Russians overwhelmingly support this war. They've been waiting for 30 years for a chance to finally fight back against their serial humiliations by the West. The Crimean and Georgian wars were hugely popular too.

#9  Russians rally around Putin as his approval ratings soar
    THE NEW YORK TIMES
    March 31, 2022, 8:17 a.m. ET
    Ivan Nechepurenko <- that's a Ukrainian reporter

President Vladimir V. Putin’s approval ratings have reached levels unseen in years, according to an independent poll released on Thursday, as many Russians rally around the flag in the face of mounting international pressure.

Eighty-three percent of Russians said they approved of Mr. Putin’s actions, up from 69 percent in January, according to a poll by the Levada Center, an independent pollster in Moscow. Ratings of many other government institutions, as well as the governing party, have also gone up, the poll indicated.

The poll by Levada — which has been declared a “foreign agent” in Russia — was conducted among more than 1,600 people across the country, with the margin of error not exceeding 3.4 percentage points.

Denis Volkov, Levada’s director, said that initial feelings of “shock and confusion” that many Russians felt at the start of the Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine was being replaced with the belief that Russia is besieged and that its people must rally around their leader.

The confrontation with the West has consolidated people,” Mr. Volkov said, adding that some respondents said that while they generally did not support Mr. Putin, now was the time to do so. According to that line of thinking, he said, people believe that “everyone is against us” and that “Putin defends us, otherwise we would be eaten alive.”

#11  Russians rally around Putin... believe that “everyone is against us” and that “Putin defends us, otherwise we would be eaten alive.”

    What else did we expect?

So the American president declares economic war on Russia, gives billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine, announces he's going to overthrow the Russian government like the Americans have overthrown dozens of governments around the world. And we expect a great nation to just collapse and whimper like pathetic little Libya or Iraq?

Did we think the Russians don't have legitimate fears or feelings of national pride?

The degree of misunderstanding and hubris on display is simply amazing

It's called nationalism. Americans support their leader in times of grave danger and uncertainty, so do Cubans, so do Ukrainians, so do Russians. Shouldn't be a surprise that another nation sees Biden as an shithead and a hypocrite after the buffoons Obama and Bush Jr
    Posted by: Grinerong Omoluting2939 || 03/31/2022 20:58 Comments || Top||

#14  About 20-25% of the Russians are what westerners would call liberals or progressives living mainly in Moscow and St Petersburg; they're fairly solidly against Putin. They're like the SPD in Germany or Labour in the U.K., or the hard core of the Democrats in the US: Bernie Sanders or Ocasio-Cortez types, or maybe your typical left-lib Disney executive.

The rest of the population ranges from suspicious of the West to downright hostile. Some are religious, others not, but all of them think the western "woke" movement is batshit crazy. They want nothing to do with the freakishness and cultural self-hatred you see on full display across New York, Berlin, Paris, London. These people -- they're the majority -- are enraged by the West's hypocrisy in supporting American invasions, botched wars and meddling in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria. And the US coup in Kiev is esoecially infuriating to them.

Navalny was a major supporter of the Crimean annexation

You say you want a revolution? Well, you know... we all want to change the world LOL

If you replace Putin with a liberal, you're likely to get a hardcore Great Russian Nationalist (like Kerensky).

But you will NEVER find a Russian leader, no matter how progressive or pro-Western, who supports the idea of unilateral Russian disarmament in the face of a hostile and aggressive, encroaching Nato. Won't happen.

Report: 55 House Democrat ‘Deadbeats' Skip Paying Dues to DCCC as Midterm Red Wave Builds
[Breitbart] Fifty-five powerful and influential House Democrats are reportedly financially stiffing the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), failing to pay the dues they owe because of the likelihood that Republicans will retake the chamber.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC), and DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) reportedly pleaded with members on Tuesday to pay up. But many members are not paying their dues, perhaps because Democrats perceive the 2022 midterm election as a lost cause. “The House Democratic majority is in deep trouble, with both history and the polls against them; and Republicans have overtaken what’s been traditionally a large lead by the DCCC in fundraising, thanks in part to a huge spurt in online fundraising,” Punchbowl noted.

One congressional Democrat told the publication Pelosi is trying her best to force the “deadbeats” to cough up the money by keeping a list of those who have not paid.

“The speaker is very focused on exactly who’s paid dues and who hasn’t. You really don’t want to be on the wrong list right now,” the member said.

Many of those who are stiffing the committee are some of the most powerful and influential members in the caucus, such as Oversight Chair Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Cori Bush (D-MO), and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY).

Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) has $685,000 in a campaign account, yet refuses to pay any dues. Others stiffing the committee include Transportation and Infrastructure Chair Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Natural Resources Chair Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ).

Many members who are running for different political positions or are retiring from Congress after the midterms also have unpaid dues. Those reportedly include Reps. Peter Welch (D-VT), Tim Ryan (D-OH), Conor Lamb (D-PA), Val Demings (D-FL), and Charlie Crist (D-FL), among others.

Army Reducing Its Numbers in Face of Recruiting Difficulties
So failing recruiting gives positive performance?
[Breitbart] The Army this week admitted it was having problems recruiting and announced an unprecedented reduction in its numbers that would shrink the active duty Army to its smallest size since World War II.

“We’re facing, obviously, some challenging conditions in terms of our ability to recruit and attract talent,” Under Secretary of the Army Gabe Camarillo said at a press conference on Monday.

Camarillo blamed a “very tight labor market” for the Army’s recruiting woes.

“What we’re just seeing is given the particular conditions of a very tight labor market, our ability to meet all of our projected recruiting goals were a little bit challenged in FY ’22 and FY ’23,” he said.

Camarillo said the Army’s end strength, or total number of forces, would go from 485,000 soldiers currently to 476,000 in fiscal year 2022, which ends in September, and further down to 473,000 in fiscal year 2023.

He said the Army decided on reducing its recruitment goals instead of lowering standards.

“We made the assessment that we would not want to adjust our specific criteria for quality,” he said. “And so, we made the decision to just temporarily reduce end strength, as opposed to lowering our standards.”

He added that the Army hoped to build back its numbers over the next five years.

“We don’t anticipate that it is a lasting change,” Camarillo said. “It is something that we hope to bring back up over the course of the fight up. And it’s something that we certainly think is reflective of what we hope to be transient conditions in the labor market.”

Retired Army Lt. Gen. Thomas Spoehr, director of the Heritage Foundation’s Center for National Defense, called the situation unprecedented.

“The Army has not faced such recruiting headwinds in the last 30 years. I am unaware of a situation where the Army has cut its end strength in response to a negative recruiting outlook,” he said.

Spoehr also attributed the decision to the Biden Administration keeping the Army budget below inflation.

“If the Biden administration was not holding the Army’s budget below the level of inflation, I am not sure they would have had to resort to cutting their end strength,” he said.

The reduction would bring the Army to its smallest since 1940, according to Military Times.

Spoehr said the Army’s decision would make units less capable:

The Army has said that rather than reduce the number of units, they will instead man units at a lower level. So, the Army’s companies and battalions, rather than being manned at say 95-100%, with this end strength cut, the Army may only be able to fill them to a 90% level. That means less capable units.

The recruiting difficulties come as the Army has begun discharging soldiers not complying with the Biden administration’s coronavirus vaccine mandate. More than 4,000 requested a religious exemption, but only two were granted, according to recent Army statistics. An additional 2,735 soldiers have refused.

The difficulties are also despite the Army last year launching animated recruitment advertisements that highlighted women, minorities, immigrants, and the LGBT community, as previously reported by Breitbart News.

Spoehr called the Army’s recruiting difficulties “a perfect storm, all hitting in 2022.”

First, he said fewer and fewer individuals even qualify to enlist. He said:

The biggest disqualifying factors are obesity, fitness and mental health issues. This should not come as a surprise. Obesity in America, including among youth, continues to increase. More and more youth are being treated for mental health issues and being prescribed psychotropic drugs for treatment. Current numbers coming out of the Pentagon are that the percentage of individuals qualified to enlist without a waiver has dropped from 29% in 2016 to less than 25% in 2022.

Second, he said fewer and fewer individuals are interested in joining the military, also in part thanks to the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal:

There are economic reasons for this, many companies are now offering more generous compensation packages that include college tuition to graduating high school seniors. There are lots of jobs available now. And over time American society has placed less and less value on the idea of public service. The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan has also caused some to question our military and their competence.

Finally, he cited the perception that the military is becoming “woke.”

“There is a sense among the American public that the military is becoming increasingly political and that topics such as race and gender equity, critical race theory, and wokeism in general are commanding more attention, at the cost of readiness,” he said.

Public polls have backed up that assessment. Earlier this year, a Gallup poll showed that the public view of military leaders has dropped, and a Ronald Reagan Institute poll last year showed that high confidence in the military has dropped.

Spoehr added: “I should note that it is my assessment that for the first time ever, it may turn out that none of the military services will make their recruiting goals for 2022. The Air Force in particular is sounding the alarm.”

Hagerty: Biden Created ‘Greatest National Security Crisis That We Face' on Border
[Breitbart] On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) argued that the Biden administration has directly created “the greatest national security crisis that we face as a nation” “by collapsing our southern border” with their immigration policies and that if Title 42 is rescinded, the result will be “a massive new wave of illegal immigrants coming across this border, more fentanyl, more drugs, more human trafficking.”

Hagerty said, “The Biden administration has created the greatest national security crisis that we face as a nation by collapsing our southern border when they came into office. This is a tragedy that’s occurring there. And today, if they allow this to expire, Title 42, that means that this onslaught is going to continue. We’ll see a massive new wave of illegal immigrants coming across this border, more fentanyl, more drugs, more human trafficking. This has been a tragedy of epic proportions. The Biden administration is precipitating this directly. … This is a massive crisis. And I expect that if they allow Title 42 to expire, we’re going to see, again, another wave, another bad wave of immigration coming across this border in an illegal fashion.”

Israel on high security, military alert after week of terror attacks; more raids and arrests
[Jpost] Bennett: Whoever has a gun license, it’s time to carry the gun •
Volunteers called to reinforce army, police.

Israel plans to bolster its army and police presence in sensitive areas as it prepares for further terrorist attacks, including Gaza rockets, following a deadly spate of shooting and stabbing incidents that claimed 11 lives in the last week.

Some 1,000 additional IDF soldiers will be posted to the West Bank and the Gaza border. Public Security Minister Omer Bar Lev announced the immediate recruitment of 300 Border Police officers and urged the public to volunteer for the Civil Guard.

According to media reports, there are at least five warnings for potential terrorist attacks in Israel.

In a special video address on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett urged the country to be vigilant, called for civilian volunteers and urged those with gun licenses to be armed.

“Keep an eye open. Whoever has a gun license, it’s time to carry the gun,” Bennett said.
    The unorganized militia.
“We are also currently evaluating a larger framework to involve civilian volunteers who want to help and be of assistance,” Bennett said.

According to Defense Minister Benny Gantz, the defense establishment is prepared for the “immediate” recruitment of thousands of reservists who would “flood the streets together with the police and act wherever operational activity is required.”

Both men spoke one day after a Palestinian gunman killed two Israeli and two Ukrainian civilians as well as the policeman who responded to the attack.

The Palestinian gunmen, 27-year-old Dia Hamarsha, was later shot dead by a police officer who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and engaged the shooter in a firefight. The officer, 32-year-old Arab Christian Amir Khouri, was evacuated to Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in critical condition and died from his wounds soon after, making him the fifth victim.

Two other ISIS-linked attacks by Arab-Israelis took place in Beersheba and Hadera in the last week, making it one of the bloodiest seven-day periods since the Second Intifada. Israel was already on edge, concerned that it would face a new wave of violence in April with the onset of the Passover, Ramadan and Easter holidays.

A new Border Police Brigade has been established as “an immediate response motorcycle unit; this is the force that eliminated the terrorist in Bnei Brak last night,” Bennett said.

Security forces have carried out 200 investigation or arrest operations and have mapped out the home of the Palestinian terrorist in the village of Yabad for demolition, he added.

Security forces are expediting the collection of illegal weapons in Arab communities and are reaching out to anyone with a “previous connection with ISIS.” Forces have been authorized to use administrative detentions if necessary, Bennett said.

WILL THE WEST BANK HEAT UP?
Overnight on Tuesday, Israeli security forces carried out a wave of arrests in the West Bank and mapped the home of the terrorist behind the deadly attack in Bnei Brak in preparation for its demolition.

Forces from the IDF, Shin Bet and Israel Police conducted a widespread arrest campaign throughout the West Bank in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, Bethlehem, Kedumim, Ramallah, Marda, Yabad and villages south of Bethlehem.

Clashes broke out between troops and Palestinians during the arrests.

Among those arrested was the brother of the attacker Hamarsha from the village of Yabad in the northern West Bank near Jenin. He was jailed for six months in 2015 for dealing in illegal firearms and affiliation with a terrorist group and had worked illegally at a Bnei Brak construction site.

At least 20 other people including other relatives were arrested in Yabad and interrogated as security services look into whether Hamarsha had any accomplices and how he came to be in possession of the M-16 rifle used in the attack.

The Israel Police said it had arrested 49 Palestinians who were in Israel illegally throughout the day on Wednesday and began criminal investigations against three business owners who employed them, and against drivers of four vehicles being used to transport them.

Gantz also ordered the administrative detention of two residents of east Jerusalem affiliated with Hamas on suspicion of planning violent activities. The arrests were carried out based on the Shin Bet’s recommendation and according to Gantz, “will not be the last.”

Bnei Brak terrorist entered Israel in stolen car through gap in security fence — TV
[IsraelTimes] The Palestinian terrorist who carried out the shooting attack in Bnei Brak Tuesday entered Israel by driving through a gap in the West Bank security barrier, according to Israeli television reports.
    Good fences make good neighbours
The networks say Diaa Hamarsheh switched out the license plates on the car and brought the M-16 used in the attack with him.

Channel 12 news reports that the security establishment is currently grappling with “significant” warnings of five planned terror attacks.

Bnei Brak terrorist served prison time for planning to carry out suicide bombing
[IsraelTimes] Diaa Hamarsheh previously served 2.5 years in prison for planning to take part in a suicide bombing. He previously served time in Israeli prison for membership in a terror group and weapons dealing.

According to Hebrew media reports, in 2011, Hamarsheh went on social media and asked members of the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror groups to help him obtain an explosives belt. However, he was reportedly defrauded by an Islamic Jihad operative he was in touch with and never received the suicide belt he paid for.

He was later arrested and convicted as part of a plea deal.

Man arrested in Rahat on suspicion of affiliation with Islamic State
[IsraelTimes] An 18-year-old man from the southern city of Rahat has been arrested for alleged affiliation with the Islamic State jihadist group.

The suspect will be brought before a Beersheba court later today to extend his remand.

Requests for gun permits said to rise sharply amid recent attacks
[IsraelTimes] The number of requests for gun permits has risen drastically over the past week in the wake of three deadly terror attacks, Channel 13 news reports.

According to figures cited by the network, 143 people applied for gun permits on March 22, the day three people were killed in a stabbing and car-ramming attack in Beersheba.

On Sunday, the same day two coppers were rubbed out in the northern city of Hadera, 363 requests were filed.

That figure jumped drastically to 966 yesterday, when five people were killed in a shooting attack in Bnei Brak.

    Europe
French intelligence chief Vidaud fired over Russian war failings
[BBC] The head of French military intelligence, Gen Eric Vidaud, is losing his job after failing to predict Russia's war in Ukraine, reports say.

Seven months after he took on the role, one report said he was blamed for "inadequate briefings" and a "lack of mastery of subjects".

The US correctly assessed that Russia was planning a large-scale invasion, while France concluded it was unlikely.

Gen Vidaud was blamed for that by France's military chief, a source said.

However, the military source told AFP news agency that his job was to provide "military intelligence on operations, not on premeditation". As Gen Vidaud's service concluded that Russia had the means to invade Ukraine, the source said that "what happened proves him right".

When contacted by the BBC, a military spokesman said French armed forces chief Gen Thierry Burkhard had no comment to make.

However, in early March Gen Burkhard acknowledged that French intelligence had not been up to the level of US or UK briefings, which were publicised to pile pressure on Russia's Vladimir Putin. "The Americans said that the Russians were going to attack, they were right," he told Le Monde newspaper.

"Our services thought instead that the cost of conquering Ukraine would have been monstrous and the Russians had other options" to bring down the government of Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky, he added.

France's misreading of President Putin was all the more embarrassing because President Emmanuel Macron had spoken to him regularly in the days leading up to the invasion on 24 February.

Intelligence specialist Prof Alexandre Papaemmanuel told AFP it was too easy to blame military intelligence for the failure, which lay with France's entire intelligence community.

But Gen Vidaud, France's former special forces commander, appears to have been squeezed out for other reasons too.

Weeks after he took charge of military intelligence, his service came in for criticism when Australia scrapped a multi-billion dollar submarine contract with France in favour of a security pact with the US and UK. The Aukus pact came out of the blue in France and prompted a diplomatic spat.

Putin and his high command reportedly have moved to secret bunkers as threats of nuclear war escalate
[American Thinker] Thanks to imbecilic comments by President Biden, the threat of nuclear war just got a lot more serious if new reports are to be believed. The estimable David Goldman (AKA Spengler), writing with Uwe Parpart, warns us:

What does Vladimir Putin have to do to convince Washington that the Ukraine crisis is a preliminary skirmish in what might be a nuclear war? On February 23, Putin warned of nuclear war. On February 19, he conducted a full-dress drill of Russian ballistic missile forces. On February 27, he put Russia on a nuclear alert — which remains in effect.Joe Biden didn't get the message.

Then on March 29, Moscow sent a red-alarm signal to the West by leaking news that "Putin and his high command have decamped to secret bunkers, following a Kremlin statement that Russia would use nuclear weapons to counter an 'existential threat,'" the Daily Mail reported, citing investigations by journalist Christo Grozev.

#1  ....following a Kremlin statement that Russia would use nuclear weapons to counter an 'existential threat

Putin is very likely to use a small tactical nuke on Ukrainian hold-out cities. The West has been notified. Putin and his high command are simply taking precautionary measures.

The West will not respond militarily. Emergency UN meetings will be announced. An international crisis will be declared followed by National emergency actions. Elections will be postponed. Travel will be restricted. Food, medicine, and fuel rationing will commence. The sale of firearms and ammunition will be suspended. Congress goes on an extended national emergency holiday. Biden and Harris cannot be found, are assumed to be in seclusion.

In the hope of de-escalating the tensions, US and Euro military aid to Ukraine will be immediately terminated.

This is a crisis damn it! It could go on for months, even years! You must do your part.

Already have. Gas rationing in Germany. Diesel rationing in the Netherlands. Food rationing in France.

The Financial Times opines that covid restrictions have conditioned the serfs public to accept repression: "what manifests merely as higher food and energy prices in the northern hemisphere will show up as famine in parts of the developing world. In the short term, wealthy European economies should be able to persuade companies and individuals to contribute to ending the horrors endured by Ukrainians. It is spring and turning down the heating is not a big ask for most. Two years of stringent government anti-Covid measures may even have conditioned people to lower their expectations in the wider interest (though anti-lockdown protests suggest the reverse is also possible)."

Now assuming they aren't blowing smoke and its not just posturing by Putin:

Target might be Mariupol. They don't want the port or city, they want it gone - cleared so they can use it as a highway to Crimea and turn the Sea of Azov into a Russian Lake again. That's why they are systematically reducing the city to rubble. Bonus for Putin popping a tac nuke there is that he supposedly hits a stronghold for the so-called "Nazi" Azov Battalion.

0.3kt would probably be used. Probably an airburst to reduce fallout issues. And probably in the center of the pocket to avoid water/coastal areas (for fallout reasons) and to avoid the highways around the perimeter the Russians want to use.

Iskander missiles can carry that and they have been in more or less constant use in Ukraine with conventional warheads.

Conveniently 0.3kt is the lowest yield on the US Mk61mod3 "Dial a nuke" bomb, available as a pre-set on Nukemap to see the effects, radius, etc.

So look for a pullback around Mariupol as a sign of bad things.

#8  First off, it is not from American Thinker. The referenced article is by Uwe Parpart and David P Goldman writing in Asia Times. They state their source for the bunker report is the work of investigative journalist Christo Grozev and they link to it:

What does Vladimir Putin have to do to convince Washington that the Ukraine crisis is a preliminary skirmish in what might be a nuclear war? On February 23, Putin warned of nuclear war. On February 19, he conducted a full-dress drill of Russian ballistic missile forces. On February 27, he put Russia on a nuclear alert — which remains in effect.

Joe Biden didn’t get the message.

Then on March 29, Moscow sent a red-alarm signal to the West by leaking news that “Putin and his high command have decamped to secret bunkers, following a Kremlin statement that Russia would use nuclear weapons to counter an ‘existential threat,’” the
Daily Mail reported, citing investigations by journalist Christo Grozev.

#9  Putin's invasion if Ukraine is wildly popular with the Russian people. His approval ratings have gone up significantly and stayed sky high since the invasion -- 78% of Russians approve of Putin's performance. The American pollster Mark Mellman summarizes the data:

"According to polls by the independent and reliable Levada Center, Putin’s approval rating has been at or above 59 percent in every reading for the past 20 years. In February, as his buildup on the Ukrainian border progressed, but before the invasion began, Putin’s approval rose to 71 percent.

VCIOM, a polling form owned by the Russian government, similarly pegged Putin’s approval in the low to mid-sixties throughout the year, and also saw it rise as the war against Ukraine commenced. Indeed, its most recent reading on March 20 has 78 percent of Russians approving of Putin’s performance.

#11  The Russians including the overwhelming majority of the Russian people are dead serious. This war is in their view existential -- a necessary last-ditch effort to prevent US missiles eventually being being placed a few hundred km from Moscow.

That's about five minutes' distance, and Russia would not be able to intercept those missiles. The Russians believe they are fighting an existential threat.

In his article in The Hill linked above, US pollster Mark Mellman also cites the solid work of an American pollster:

Some of those who have produced surveys recently are fine people with excellent reputations for integrity, and it would seem some of them believe their surveys are producing real and useful information. One of the things they’re finding is support for Putin’s war, at least in its early days.

Noted American pollster Gary Langer helped bring to public attention a survey conducted by serious Russian researchers in the early days of the war; it found 58 percent of their countrymen approved of the invasion, 46 percent strongly so. Only about 23 percent opposed the war.

That bill includes: ration cards for gas and food. Spiraling deficits. Hyperinflation. Recession. Hunger and starvation across the Near and Far East as well as Africa. Wars and revolutions in many countries because of food scarcity. Disruptions to every major industry. Redoubling of government control and repression.

Were the western publics informed about this parade of horribles that necessarily attends upon western policy toward Russia? I don't believe so. Do you have evidence to the contrary?

No, of course Matt doesn't. The survey questions posed in the US (including at least one constituent questionnaire sent by a US congressman) asked only whether the respondent would be willing to pay higher gas prices as a result of sanctions.

Nowhere are Americans being told about inevitable consequences such as a steep decline in US living standards, about rationing, about hyperinflation or recession. Let alone 10 million or more deaths from starvation and chaos, wars and revolutions around the world.

I think they're a bit low on quality external intelligence assets in Russia. China overtook them in number of plants in DC, and Langley may be riddled with closet sunnis, globalists and other critters but very less russkie spies. Also, osint has really made players lazy and incompetent. So the Russians were truly alarmed at Biden's foolhardy statements.

Or they knew it's all hot air and took the opportunity to wave their radioactive shlongs in faces.

Truth is, the deepState in America cannot afford to piss off Russia. It cannot undertake any more grand plans in Russia. And no matter how many fags, clueless poc appointees or crazy wimmin Langley absorbs in service, there're always some clever chaps plugged into the other side doing their job right in the CIA. They will tell you Biden can stuff it, there's going to be no 'Russian Spring' or sponsored Navalnys or zero dark attempts on Vlad. I'll bet all the military and intelligence part of the deepState are doing right now is calling up their friends in the Kremlin trying to convince them that whatever Biden utters is worth jack and shit. Maybe they're also looking to replace him with the pliant kind 'leader' they want.

There is no existential threat to Russia. The only existential threat is to America, and most of it from within. And it can't be circumvented or surmounted by making enemies of a nuclear powered State with a bad case of авось.

#20  OR They knew it's all hot air and took the opportunity to wave their radioactive shlongs in faces.

This. They've seen five US presidents come and go. They have no expectations or assumptions of rational behavior from US leaders after all they've seen these past 30 years. Review:

Clinton was a clever asshole. He lied to the Russians and humiliated them in Russia and the Balkans and began Nato's expansion east in violation of Janes Baker's promises.

W was an unclever asshole. He took Putin's good faith offer of help after 9/11, ignored the warnings about the Iraq disaster put Tomahawk missiles in Poland and pretended they were for "defence", expanded NATO still further and then humiliated Russia with yet another declared Nato expansion, to Ukraine and Georgia in W's infamous Bucharest Declaration in 2008.

Obama was a fool and a flaming asshole who pretended to be friendly while sneering idiotically that "Russia has nothing that the world wants" and humiliating Russia (and the US) with disastrous interventions in Libya and Ukraine and Syria. Once again, more NATO expansion, this time with actual military advisors training and bulking up Ukraine's military to "go on offense," as Sen. Lindsay Graham fond Ukrainian elite troops in 2016.

Trump restored a brief moment of sanity to US Russia policy, combining respect and toughness-- exactly the way the Russians and every great power expect to be treated. Then Trump was overthrown in a rigged election.

And now shit for brains demented Papa Joe Biden. The Russians are now like, "OK, what's new?"

    -Short Attention Span Theater-
Biden to receive second COVID-19 booster shot
[Washington Examiner] President Joe Biden will receive his second COVID-19 booster shot, days after the extra Pfizer and Moderna doses were approved by federal public health officials for people ages 50 and older.

Biden will roll up his sleeve after remarks Wednesday afternoon, in which he is expected to urge Congress to appropriate more emergency pandemic funding and unveil a website to be a one-stop shop for coronavirus information, according to a White House official.

"The shot will be administered by a member of the White House Medical Unit," the official said.

The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made the decision regarding the second boosters for the age group, as well as younger immunocompromised people, without consulting their independent vaccine advisory committees. These people are eligible for the shots four months after their last doses.

The move raised questions given Biden's insistence he would "follow the science," but it also coincides with concerns that the BA.2 omicron variant will result in another wave in the coming weeks.

The new website, COVID.gov, combines Vaccines.gov and COVIDTests.gov. It also provides information about masks and, for the first time, treatments in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

Hijab issue: 40 Muslim girls abstain from PU exams in Udupi
[OneIndia] Forty Moslem girl students from Udupi district of Karnataka abstained from appearing for the first pre-university examination on Tuesday as they were apparently hurt by the recent High Court verdict against wearing of hijab inside classrooms. The students decided to not appear for the examination without wearing the headscarf as they were hurt by the March 15 order, sources said.

The Karnataka High Court on March 15 had dismissed petitions seeking permission to wear hijab inside the classroom, saying the headscarf is not a part of the essential religious practice in Islamic faith and also stated that the uniform dress rule should be followed in educational institutions where it has been prescribed. Those who shunned the examinations on Tuesday include 24 girl students from Kundapur, 14 from Byndoor and two from Udupi Government Girls PU college, who are involved in the legal fight over wearing of hijab in classrooms.

The girls had earlier boycotted the practical examinations also. At the RN Shetty PU college, 13 out of 28 Moslem girl students appeared for the examination.

Though some students reached the examination centre wearing hijabs, they were denied permission. Four out of five girl students appeared for the examinations at Bhandarkar's college in Udupi, while all the girl students of Basrur Sharada college attended the examinations.

Six among the eight girl students of Navunda Government PU College abstained from the examinations, while only two out of 10 Moslem girls appeared for the examinations. Some private colleges in the district allowed students wearing hijab to attend the examinations, sources said.

    The Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
on March 24 refused to accord urgent hearing on the pleas challenging the Karnataka High Court verdict. The students, though, are planning to wait till the apex court gives an order on the issue.

China is, was and will stay Pakistan's reliable ally: FM Qureshi
[Dawn] Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi
...a Pak political shape-changer. He is undistinguished except for his habit of periodically needing to have his lips reattached...
, after a meeting with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, on Wednesday said Beijing had reaffirmed that it was and would always stay a close ally of Pakistain.

Qureshi reached China on Tuesday to attend the third round of talks of the 'Foreign Ministers of Neighbouring Countries of Afghanistan'.

In a video message after the one-on-one meeting with his Chinese counterpart today, Qureshi revealed that China had promised to strengthen Pakistain's regional and strategic importance.

"I am immensely happy to share that the Chinese FM has given a nod of approval on the rollover of commercial loan as well."

The $4.2 billion debt, which was maturing this week, has been rolled over providing major financial relief to Pakistain.
    No doubt.
"The procedural formalities are being completed by relevant authorities," the foreign minister said. "An announcement will be made as soon as they're sorted."

He added that China has also assured to help the country to counter the international shortage of diesel.

Moreover, the Chinese government, the FM said, appreciated the Organisation of Islamic Corporation's suggestion of peaceful dialogue for negotiations in the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the laboratory, Igor and Oleg were discussing what the quickest way might be to deal with the monster...
a statement issued by the Foreign Office said that Qureshi assured Pakistain's support to the One China Policy and to core Chinese interests.

"Both the Foreign Ministers agreed that quality development of second phase of the China-Pakistain Economic Corridor (CPEC) and bilateral cooperation in areas such as industries, agriculture and information technology is manifestation of our multidimensional partnership," it added.

It may be recalled that Pakistain had initiated the Neighbouring Countries format in September last year with a view to evolving a regional approach to the situation in Afghanistan. The first meeting, which was hosted by Pakistain, was held on September 8, 2021.

They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
The CCTV footage shows the woman stopping in the middle of the road and searching through the purse she was carrying. She then takes a bomb from her bag and hurls it at the CRPF camp.

The bomb caused no loss or injuries, the police said. The area was immediately cordoned off after the attack. The woman has been identified and a massive search operation has been launched. She will be arrested soon said Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.

    Afghanistan
    World Bank freezes Afghan projects
[Dawn] The World Bank has put four projects in Afghanistan worth $600 million on hold amid concerns over a decision by the Taliban
    ...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
regime to ban girls from returning to public high schools, the bank said.
Consequences? But Allah promises there will be no consequences for the Master Religion. How could this happen?
The projects, to be funded under the revamped Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund, were being readied for implementation by the United Nations
    ...boodling on the grand scale...
agencies to support projects in agriculture, education, health and livelihoods.

But the bank’s guidance requires all ARTF-financed activities to support access to — and equity of services for — women and girls in Afghanistan, the bank said, citing its deep concerns over the Taliban’s ban on girls attending high school.

As a result, the bank said, the four projects will be presented to ARTF donors for approval only "when the World Bank and international partners have a better understanding of the situation and confidence that the goals of the projects can be met". It was not immediately clear when that could occur.

    Europe
Germany says Putin agreed to keep payments for gas in euros
[DW] The Russian leader said money would be paid into Gazprom Bank, which is not a subject of sanctions, and then transferred in rubles to Russia, according to a German statement.

Germany's government said on Wednesday it has received assurances from Russia that Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
would not have to pay for Russian gas supplies in rubles.

Olaf Scholz's office said Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
told the German Chancellor that European companies could continue paying in euros or dollars.

In a phone call with Scholz, Putin said the money would be paid into Gazprom Bank and then transferred in rubles to Russia, a German statement said. The bank is not currently subject to sanctions.

"Scholz did not agree to this procedure in the conversation, but asked for written information to better understand the procedure," the statement added.

    DEMAND FOR RUBLE PAYMENTS REJECTED
Putin said last week that Moscow would only accept rubles as payment for gas deliveries to "unfriendly" countries, including European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
    nations.

According to a Kremlin statement, Putin told Scholz that "the decision taken should not lead to worsening of contractual terms for European importer companies."

He also sought to justify Russia's demands for ruble payments, saying that "in violation of the norms of international law, the foreign exchange reserves of the Bank of Russia were frozen by the member states of the European Union."

The Kremlin said the two leaders agreed that experts from each country would hold further discussions on the matter.

G7 countries have rejected Moscow's demand to pay for gas in rubles, describing it as a breach of contract.

Germany on Wednesday triggered an emergency plan to manage gas supplies that could see Europe's largest economy ration power if a standoff over a Russian demand to pay for fuel with roubles disrupts or halted supplies. Just hours after Berlin's announcement, Austria also said it was activating an emergency alert over its gas supply.

Paris terror trial: Suspect says he 'didn't want' to detonate vest
[DW] The suspected lone survivor of the group that carried out the 2015 terror attacks in Paris has told judges it was "his decision" to not blow himself up.

The main defendant in the trial of the 2015 attacks in Paris on Wednesday told the court that he had refused to set off the explosive belt of his own free will. Salah Abdeslam
...the Moroccan-French boy who ran with all the other petty criminals in the notoriously Salafist Molenbeek neighbourhood until they grew up to transfer that sense of entitlement to membership in ISIS. Mr. Abdeslam has already been sentenced in Belgium in a separate trial. It appears he has abandoned the habit of silence that got him twenty years for that one...
is the last surviving suspected assailant in the Bataclan terror case that left 130 people dead.
On the very busy night of 13 November 2015, about 350 were also maimed when ISIS button men with boom jackets targeted six bars and restaurants, the Bataclan concert hall, and a sports stadium.
Abdeslam said he had "abandoned" plans to blow himself up with a bomb belt.

"I didn't go all the way, I abandoned triggering my belt, not out of cowardice, not out of fear, but I just didn't want to," he told the hearing. He said he planned to set off the suicide belt before "going into reverse" on the evening of November 13.

Asked if he had lied to other accomplices by telling them that the explosives belt had not worked, he said "yes."

"I was ashamed of not going all the way," he said. "I was afraid of the looks from the other jihadists. I was 25-years-old. There you go, it's that I was ashamed, as simple as that."

The 32-year-old French defendant had initially told the court he would be using his right to remain silent. Around two hours into the court hearing, a lawyer representing the victims' families caused him to break his silence with a personal question about his fiancée.

    LAST SURVIVING ALLEGED ATTACKER
The trial in Paris involves a total of 20 suspects, including six who are being tried in absentia and five who are believed to have already died in Syria.

They are accused over their suspected roles in the terror attacks, ranging from providing logistical support to planning the attacks, as well as supplying weapons.

The man believed to have organized the attacks was killed in a shootout with police in the Paris neighborhood of Saint-Denis just days after the carnage.

Abdeslam is the only suspected attacker who did not set off his explosive belt. He allegedly had a suicide vest that he dumped in a suburb of Paris, where it was later found, before he fled to his hometown Brussels. He was arrested in Brussels in April 2016.

The so-called "Islamic State" terrorist group claimed responsibility for the series of attacks in November 2015.

Assailants opened fire at the Bataclan concert hall and in bars and restaurants across Paris, killing 130 people. Three suicide bombers detonated their vests outside a stadium during a Germany-France international football game.

    India-Pakistan
8 personnel martyred in Tank, South Waziristan clashes
[Dawn] Eight security personnel, including an army captain, were martyred and seven terrorists were killed in clashes between security forces and members of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district and adjacent South Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday.

The ISPR said the terrorists launched a pre-dawn attack on a military compound in Tank, but security forces foiled their attempt to enter the complex. “During an intense exchange of fire, six soldiers, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat (martyrdom),” it said..

In a statement, TTP spokesperson Mohammad Khorasani claimed responsibility for the attack on the FC fort in Tank.

Tank’s District Police Officer Waqar Ahmed told the media in Dera Ismail Khan that the militants attacked Frontier Constabulary (FC) Qila Tank. He said 22 FC and army personnel were also injured in the gunfight. The injured were shifted to the Tank district hospital. Those in critical condition were later referred to Combined Military Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.

The exchange of fire continued for several hours. Police officials said the terrorists attacked the compound, where FC and army troops were stationed, at around 3am on Wednesday.

According to reports, terrorists attempted to sneak into the compound from behind a wall where concertina wire was not installed and the area was surrounded by bushes and hedges. Officials said the terrorists used ladders to climb the wall.

    CLASHES IN MAKIN
Clashes also took place between security forces and terrorists in the Makin area of South Waziristan. During an intense exchange of fire, Captain Saad Bin Amir, 25, of Rawalpindi, and Lance Naik Mohammad Irfan, 37, of Tank were martyred, the ISPR said.

However, troops responded in a befitting manner, killing four terrorists. Security forces later combed the area for other terrorists.

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The demography of war: Russia's insurmountable demographic advantage over Ukraine, explained
[Institute for Family Studies] The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has already claimed thousands of lives, military and civilian. It is the largest conflict within Europe since World War II, and the first conventional war in Europe to be fought since the Balkan conflicts of the 1990s. While the present conflict has many causes, some of the factors leading to war are linked to population and demography. Arguments and beliefs about population and demography have been marshaled by both sides to justify various political claims, and demography and social science research can inform expectations about the war. The war will itself alter the demographic trajectory of Ukraine and other countries in the area.
An interesting discussion that gets deeper into the topic than we have here thus far, with graphs. A taste:
So what are some relevant population trends in Ukraine and Russia? Here, birth rates are vitally important. Both Russia and Ukraine have low fertility rates, but in recent years, Russia has implemented pro-natal policies that have helped the country avoid extreme fertility declines. In Ukraine on the other hand, a relative lack of family-supportive policies alongside the economic depression and insecurity of war and political upheaval over the last 10-15 years have led to birth rates plummeting to barely over 1 child per woman. For all Ukraine statistics here, I have reconstructed demographic data for the territory actually controlled by Ukraine in each year, accounting for territorial losses.

In other words, the Ukrainian population will shrink by about half over the course of the next generation or two, whereas Russia’s would shrink by just 25%, assuming there is no migration.

Since the fall of communism, Russia has also benefitted from high in-migration from former Soviet countries in Central Asia as migrants from poorer areas move to Russia for work, and ethnic Russians dispersed by the Soviet regime return to Russia. Ukraine, with lower incomes, less of a Soviet-era diaspora, and easier access to Europe, had net out-migration. In recent years, these trends began to reverse, but Ukraine’s high outflows still left it with a sharply falling population.

#1  Get those people out on farms without access to birth control and television and the population will grow.

Like this: The Homestead Act of 1862

President Abraham Lincoln signed the Homestead Act on May 20, 1862. On January 1, 1863, Daniel Freeman made the first claim under the Act, which gave citizens or future citizens up to 160 acres of public land provided they live on it, improve it, and pay a small registration fee. The Government granted more than 270 million acres of land while the law was in effect.

Somali troops intensify operations against Al-Shabaab
[Garowe] The Somali National Army [SNA] and partner troops intensified operations against al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
Death Eaters over the last two weeks, a report compiled by Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project indicates, amid ongoing elections in the country.

According to the report, special focus was put on the Banadir region which hosts the capital Mogadishu and the Lower Jubba regions. The Death Eaters control large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia according to the US Africa Command.

Intensive fighting was reported in the two regions between the military and the bully boys, resulting in fatalities. "The festivities resulted in many fatalities among both military forces and bully boys," reads part of the report.

Furthermore, in the Galgaduud region, a joint U.S. Africa Command forces and Somali security forces [SNA] Arclight airstrike
    ...KABOOM!...
on an Al-Shabaab stronghold in Hareeri-gubadle village killed dozens. Moreover, Death Eaters carried out a series of deadly IED attacks on security forces and civilians across the country, including foreign workers.

But the bully boys, the report adds, were able to increase raids in neighboring Kenya by attacking various bases along the border and deeper into the country. The attacks occurred in Mandera and Wajir counties.

"Al-Shabaab Death Eaters also carried out remote attacks across the border into Kenya within the Banissa and Wajir counties. Towards Giriley village, Al-Shabaab claimed that festivities with military forces led to the killing of many soldiers transporting supplies."

Despite suffering huge setbacks in Somalia, al-Shabaab managed to carry out at least four attacks in the country, killing over 60 people. The majority of the victims were residents of Beletwyene where twin blasts killed over 50 people according to official reports.

Somalia is battling instability for the last three decades but close cooperation between security forces has significantly degraded the bully boys. Somalia hosts close to 22,000 foreign troops who have managed to liberate several strategic towns from al-Shabaab.

[PJMedia] Ahmed Binyamin Alasiri, formerly known as Kevin Lamar James,

had a new lease on life. According to the Department of Justice, he had served sixteen years in prison for plotting jihad attacks against "U.S. military operations and Israeli and Jewish facilities in Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,." But now he was out, and it was time to turn his life around and make something of himself, right? Not quite: on Monday, Alasiri was sentenced to fifteen and a half years in prison for selling meth while he was on supervised release.

The Justice Department noted that Alasiri "pleaded guilty in October 2021 to one count of distribution of methamphetamine." This plea stemmed from the fact that "about one year after being released from prison and while serving a term of federal supervised release, Alasiri sold methamphetamine to a buyer on three occasions."

    Government Corruption
DNC Fined for Fake Pee Tape
[PJMedia] The Federal Election Commission (FEC) says that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign violated election laws by lying about funding the infamous Steele dossier, which was used to smear Donald Trump and justify the Obama administration seeking a FISA warrant to spy on his campaign.
Crooked Hillary's campaign was also fined.
The DNC and the Clinton campaign claimed expenses paid to the left-wing law firm Perkins Coie were legal services when in fact, they went to funding the long-discredited dossier. The FEC says that what the DNC and Clinton campaign did violated the law.
What other penalties will be made? Bueller?
According to the FEC, neither the DNC nor the Clinton campaign admitted to lying but won’t contest the finding either in order to settle the matter, the Washington Examiner reports.
Wasn't us but we will pay the fines anyway.
    “Old news”
"Solely for the purpose of settling this matter expeditiously and to avoid further legal costs, respondent[s] does not concede, but will not further contest the commission’s finding of probable cause to believe," the FEC memo states.
We don't want any more bad stuff we did to be discovered.
Don’t get too excited; while the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign paid Perkins Coie over a million dollars that went towards the funding of the bogus dossier, they’re only being fined $105,000 and $8,000, respectively. A mere slap on the wrist.

Russia continues bombardment of Ukrainian cities despite peace talk claims
[NYPOST] Russian forces continued to attack the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Chernihiv on Wednesday as a small number of Russian units withdrew — just hours after Moscow pledged to "increase mutual trust" by de-escalating its military presence around those same cities.A round of Russian shelling hit a slew of civilian sites, including residential areas and at least one library, Ukrainian officials said Wednesday. The attacks came alongside renewed Russian aggression in the eastern Donbas region.

Russia claimed Tuesday that it would "radically" reduce its attacks around Kyiv and Chernihiv as a goodwill gesture amid the peace talks recently convened in Istanbul.

"Given that the talks on the preparation of an agreement on the neutrality and non-nuclear status of Ukraine have moved into a practical field ... a decision has been made to radically, by several times, reduce the military activity in the areas of Kyiv and Chernihiv," Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin had said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky replied Tuesday, "you can trust only concrete results."

#3  Official institutions and media outlets, and rantburg in particular are deliberately spreading lies, this is poisonous and destroys their credibility. I can never again listen to an American military spokesman and trust a single word coming out of his mouth.

Of course I’m sure some people in here will be quick to point out that the American government has lied about many things before. Well, yes. But I as a human being can only speak out of my own personal awareness. My nagging doubts about my government were all confirmed by this war.
    Dear Fred and dear readers:

Information wars are won by the truth

As far as I can reasonably tell, the Russian MoD have told the truth and done their best to not distribute false information. This is the first and main reason I argue that Russia is not losing the information war. Both Ukraine and their NATO masters utterly destroyed their credibility, nothing they say can be believed
Information wars are won by the truth.
There is this idea that “both sides are equally bad” and everyone spreads disinformation. No. If a general or government spokesman says something, it should and absolutely must be a true statement, not a lie. If he says that 20 enemy tanks have been destroyed, that must be a true statement. If he says that we have had 500 soldiers killed in action, this must be a true statement. See, if a general lies about enemy casualties, and his own casualties, nothing he says can be trusted. This is why it is so important for official spokesmen and outlets to not tell lies.
Our governments in the West want us to believe that everyone lies like them and it’s just not true. Our governments lie, and the Russian government tells the truth. Or at least they try to tell the truth, and frankly, telling the truth is genuinely not hard if you make an honest attempt. Anyone with a functioning brain should be able to see that now.

#7  Did any American news outlet infirm their readers as to Putin's stated justification for the war? There was a great deal of opinion, lots of "analysis" aka spin, but we didn't see the actual relevant words the man said. For Russia, NATO’s expansion into Ukraine from the beginning has been viewed as the YS positioning for a potential nuclear war against or nuclear blackmail of Russia. No western outlet even mentioned that Putin alleges, with much evidence to support it, bad faith in the provocative US positioning of US missile "defense" systems in Eastern Europe.

Putin warned on February 23 that “positioning areas for interceptor missiles are being established in Romania and Poland as part of the US project to create a global missile defense system. It is common knowledge that the launchers deployed there can be used for Tomahawk cruise missiles – offensive strike systems…. In other words, the allegedly defensive US missile defense system is developing and expanding its new offensive capabilities.”

"The information we have gives us good reason to believe that Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the subsequent deployment of NATO facilities has already been decided and is only a matter of time [and] American strategic planning documents confirm the possibility of a so-called preemptive strike at enemy missile systems. We also know the main adversary of the United States and NATO. It is Russia… Ukraine will serve as an advanced bridgehead for such a strike.”

'There is no law': Father and son stabbed in Queens blast NYC crime surge
[NYPOST] The father and son duo hailed as heroes for fighting off a pack of goons robbing an elderly woman near their Queens pizza shop said Wednesday the city’s crime scourge has forced them to take public safety into their own hands.

"People have to protect themselves, because the government is not doing it," Cazim Suljovic, 68, told The Post from his bed at Elmhurst Hospital, where he’s recovering from a punctured lung and nine stab wounds.

"There is no law. This is why the people do it. You can stand outside your own door, with many people in the street, and you’re still not safe."

On Saturday evening, Cazim and his son Louie, a 38-year-old military veteran,
...sheepdogs protecting, whether or not they’re wearing the uniform — heroes, both...
were toiling at their Elmhurst pizzeria, Louie’s, when the father spotted a 61-year-old woman being robbed outside of their restaurant.

Robert Whack, 30, his brother-in-law Supreme Gooding, 18, and a third, un-apprehended suspect had allegedly stolen the Korean woman’s purse and stabbed her in the back, prosecutors said.

"I see a lady on the floor and three people around her. I say, ’What are they doing?’ They’re robbing her," Cazim recounted, calling the perpetrators "f—kng bastards" and "animals."

    Science & Technology
Putin Is Smiling: Why Did Biden Cancel The Navy's New Nuclear Cruise Missile?
[19fortyfive] Joe Biden is Cutting a Nuclear-Capable Cruise Missile Intended to Deter Russian Nuclear Threats to NATO — Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to rattle his nuclear saber loudly. In the run-up to his invasion of Ukraine, he ordered his nuclear weapons on "special alert status" and has since threatened more than once to use them.

As a result, Moscow’s arsenal of over 2,000 tactical nuclear weapons is now in the spotlight. Policymakers and experts take to the national media daily to debate the likelihood that Russia will use them against Ukraine or even NATO. Compared to a month ago, the nation is much better informed about Russia’s nuclear doctrine of "escalate-to-deescalate," by which Moscow reserves the option to use one of these low-yield, battlefield nuclear weapons during a conflict in Europe to compel the enemy to back down.

What is President Biden’s response to all this? Incredibly, he has opted to eliminate a program that would deliver a nuclear missile designed to deter Russia from exercising that very option.
If we're going to start WW III, why do this?
In 2018, the Trump administration proposed developing a nuclear-armed, sea-launched cruise missile to discourage our adversaries from using their tactical nukes. Earlier this year, Congress appropriated over $5 million for this program.

Monday the Biden administration abruptly canceled the program, offering no justification for the action.

The danger is that while Russia possesses thousands of these tactical nuclear weapons, the U.S. has only about 100 of them stationed in Europe. The disparity is even more acute in the Indo-Pacific, where China deploys hundreds of nuclear-capable missiles that can strike U.S. bases and allies in the region, and the United States deploys zero.

#1  ...This nice gentleman should have a cup of chamomile tea and relax.

The danger is that while Russia possesses thousands of these tactical nuclear weapons, the U.S. has only about 100 of them stationed in Europe.

True. And another few hundred on Tridents, Virginias, and Los Angeles class subs. And we haven't counted the UK and France's weapons yet. Plus I'd be willing to bet that at least half - and maybe more - are pointed at those nice Chinese people. We won't get into what percentage of the Russian weapons won't work; that percentage of the Allied weapons is MUCH higher.

In 2018, the Trump administration proposed developing a nuclear-armed, sea-launched cruise missile to discourage our adversaries from using their tactical nukes. Earlier this year, Congress appropriated over $5 million for this program.

Reality check: $5MUSD wouldn't buy the paint samples for the missile mockups. It's my understanding that in this case, we kind of need to send two cheers to the Biden administration - that money, pocket change though it may be, is being diverted to things we need now, not things we may get 8-10 years down the road.

It's like the cancelled F-35 purchases: looks bad on the surface, but those birds are being diverted to the out-of-the-blue German buy, and the Canadians suddenly decided that yeah, maybe we need to buy the -35s we were going to buy ten years go. The Lockheed production line is finite; and the German aircraft are needed now.

Pakistani Taliban announce they would launch a Ramadan offensive against security forces
    [PUBLISH.TWITTER]

    The Pak Taliban
    ...Arabic for students...
on Wednesday announced they would launch a Ramadan offensive against security forces, after claiming an attack which the military said killed at least six of its soldiers.

The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP), a separate movement that shares common roots with the faceless myrmidons that took power in Afghanistan last year,
...the Afghan Taiban are primarily Pashtun, the TTP are primarily Punjabi, but they seem to exchange personnel readily...
have stepped up attacks in recent months.

The government held a series of talks with the faceless myrmidons late last year before an agreed truce collapsed.

The spring offensive will begin on the first day of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, starting on Sunday or Monday, and will target security forces and their collaborators, Mohammad Khorasani, front man for TTP Death Eater group said in a statement.

"This operation will include martyrdom [suicide] operations, ambush attacks, mine operations, counter-attacks, target attacks, laser and sniper operations," he added.

The TTP are pressuring the government to allow faceless myrmidons to return to their hometowns with impunity after imported muscle were told by the Afghan Taliban to leave Afghanistan.

A spring offensive is a rare move by the TTP.

It comes after the country’s armed forces said faceless myrmidons attempted to storm a compound in the border region near Afghanistan, killing at least six Pak troops.

The attack was claimed by TTP, who said they had killed or maimed more than 30 soldiers.

The faceless myrmidons often exaggerate their gains, while the military’s public relations department also plays down losses or delays reporting them.

The announcement came as Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders...
was facing a no-confidence vote - the biggest challenge to his power since becoming leader in 2018.

Pakistain’s restive border region has long been a stronghold for groups such as the TTP, which operates across the porous boundary with Afghanistan.

The group plunged the country into a period of horrific violence after forming in 2007, before a major crackdown in 2014 forced them into hiding across the border.

But since the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul, the local group has become emboldened and carried out dozens of such attacks on Pakistain’s soil.

The TTP and Islamabad agreed to a truce in November.

But it failed on December 10, with the hardliners accusing the government of violating the terms of the truce.

Florida GOP threatens to take Disney's privileges away over 'Don't Say Gay' opposition
    Can you say “Consequences”?
[NYPOST] Florida GOP leaders are vowing to yank Disney’s quasi-governmental privileges at its Orlando theme park over its opposition to Florida’s so-called "Don’t Say Gay" law.

Florida Rep. Spencer Roach tweeted Wednesday that meetings have been convened to "discuss a repeal" of the Reedy Creek Improvement District agreement that "allows Disney to act as its own government."

The arrangement was created to attract Disney to Florida in 1967 and gives the company control over some operations like law enforcement and fire units.

The new "Don’t Say Gay" legislation, which bans instruction related to sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through third grade, has drawn criticism as being hostile to the LGBTQ community.

Backers assert that it seeks to shield young children from inappropriate subject matter.

Disney — which runs a wildly popular theme park in Orlando — has bashed the legislation as discriminatory.

"Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts," the company said in a statement.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the wrecked scow, Agent 49 felt gingerly for his head. It was still there. He had been hoping differently...
Republican politician Joe Harding, the bill’s sponsor, said he was returning $3,000 in campaign contributions from Disney in light of their position.

    The Grand Turk
Turkey says no 2nd day of face-to-face Ukraine talks
[An Nahar] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
said Wednesday Ukrainian and Russian delegations have decided to return home for consultations after making progress in negotiations. The talks on Tuesday hosted by Turkey sketched out what could end up being a framework for ending the war. The talks had been expected to resume on Wednesday, but Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the two sides were bringing the proposals back to their capitals.

At the conference in Istanbul, Ukraine’s delegation laid a framework under which the country would declare itself neutral and its security would be guaranteed by an array of other nations.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said Moscow would in the meantime cut back military activity in the direction of Kyiv and Chernihiv to "increase mutual trust and create conditions for further negotiations."

Russian delegation head Vladimir Medinsky said negotiators would take Ukraine’s proposals to Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
and then Moscow would provide a response, but he did not say when.

Cavusoglu said he expected a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers at an unspecified time. He said another meeting between the presidents of the two countries is also on the agenda.

Russian state news agency Tass reported that Moscow’s delegates arrived back in Russia late Tuesday.

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
From the Russian Perspective: Operation on Denazification of Ukraine: operational summary March 30th (updated)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 18:33 The Russian Armed Forces took control of all the main lines of communications, supply and approach of the reserves of the Ukrainian army - the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

18:17 In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 124 aircraft and 77 helicopters, 214 anti-aircraft missile systems, 323 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,767 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 186 multiple launch rocket systems, 741 field artillery guns and a mortar, as well as 1657 units of special military vehicles.

18:16 During the day, operational-tactical and unmanned aircraft hit 69 military facilities of Ukraine. Among them: three command posts, two installations of multiple launch rocket systems, eight warehouses of ammunition and rocket and artillery weapons, and 52 strong points and areas of concentration of military equipment.

    18:10 Russian Defense Ministry statements:

All the main tasks of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kiev and Chernigov directions have been completed. A planned regrouping of troops is taking place in the Kiev and Chernigov directions. At the first stage of the operation, it was planned to force the enemy to concentrate forces to hold large cities, to forge them, these goals were achieved.

At the same time, the Russian army was solving another problem - in the absence of an influx of fresh enemy forces from the west and from the center of Ukraine, to create conditions for the final stage of the operation to liberate the republics of Donbass. This goal has also been achieved. The Russian military broke through the well-fortified defenses of the enemy, crossed the Shaitanka River and are fighting on the outskirts of Velikaya Novoselka. There is a cleansing from the nationalist formations of the settlement of Zolotaya Niva.

The forces of the LPR continue their offensive against Severodonetsk, battles are being fought to clear the settlement of Zhitlovka, Ukrainian nationalist battalions in the Severodonetsk direction are suffering serious losses. The Kyiv regime seriously considered the possibility of using biological weapons against the population of Donbass and Russia.

18:03 Volkssturm mined all the exits from Kharkov in order to prevent civilians from breaking into calm areas. The head of the investigative department of the Main Department of the Kharkiv National Police, Serhiy Bolvinov, reports that yesterday, two people were killed and five more were injured after being blown up by one of these mines. Demands people to stop trying to leave the war zone.

17:19 There are no active hostilities in the Izyum direction, local battles are taking place. Artillery skirmishes, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to counterattack, but weakly. Everything was frozen in anticipation.

17:15 MLRS of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are working on the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Nikolaev region from the Kherson region.

17:00 In Melitopol, which is under the control of Russian troops, the Eternal Flame was lit at the Mass Grave memorial.

16:32 There is irrefutable evidence that Kyiv was planning an attack on the Donbass - Medinsky.

16:31 “Shame” and “Killers of the children of Donbass” – such inscriptions were made by the residents of Kherson on the “ATO memorial”. Thus, the residents of Kherson demonstrated their true attitude towards the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who fought against the civilian population.

16:20 In Kherson continues distribution of humanitarian aid by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. More than a thousand residents of the city of Kherson received essential products delivered to the Kherson region from the Russian Federation. First of all, assistance from the Russian military was received by pensioners, the disabled and women with children.

15:43 Columns of Russian military equipment in Kherson.

13:57 An Italian journalist openly declares that many Western media distort information about the events in Ukraine, hiding the fact that Nazism flourished in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and terror against the civilian population.

12:58 The National Guard ensures order in the liberated Melitopol.

12:50 The Kyiv regime is using the building of the new city synagogue in Uman as a collection and transfer point for weapons and Nazis to participate in hostilities.

11:30 The S-300 complex of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroyed in the Zhytomyr region, near the town of Malin.

    11:06 Russian Defense Ministry briefing:

    - On March 20, President Zelensky, speaking with a video message to the Israeli Knesset, accused Russia of allegedly striking the city of Uman in the Cherkasy region. This is a cynical lie. During a special operation, the RF Armed Forces do not strike at civilian targets. Especially - for places of worship and any other places of public worship.

    - The object of the Jewish cult in Uman is deliberately used by the Kiev nationalist regime for military purposes.

    - In the area of the village of Tumen, Rivne region, near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, a Su-24 of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down during an air battle.

    - High-precision missiles destroyed large fuel depots in the districts of Starokonstantinov and Khmelnitsky, from which fuel was supplied for armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbass. OTRK "Iskander" destroyed two large depots of rocket and artillery weapons in Kamenka, Donetsk region.

    - Aerospace Forces destroyed 10 Ukrainian UAVs in the areas of the settlements of Izyum, Novaya Kakhovka, Donetsk, Nikolaev, Berdyansk, Gorlovka, Luhansk and Rubizhne in a day.

10:40 Russian Ministry of Defense declares that:

    • - Kyiv orders the national battalions to shoot staged videos about the killings of civilians and looting allegedly committed by the Russian military;

    • - Neo-Nazis are holding more than 4.5 million citizens and 6.5 thousand foreigners;

    • - More than 19 thousand people were evacuated per day to the Russian Federation from dangerous regions of Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR;

09:48 Holiday troops Russian guards in the liberated Energodar.

09:17 On the night of March 27-28, on the territory of the Azovstal plant, crosses were made to receive Ukrainian helicopters, with the help of which they planned to evacuate the commander of the “Azov” Prokopenko and the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Baranyuk with a number of very important foreign mercenaries.

"The armed groups were adopting a classic plan in targeting the Global Coalition, which is to plant explosive devices on both sides of the international highway from the farthest of Basra to Baghdad." The Commander told Shafaq News Agency.

"The new tactic is to target the convoy directly by throwing the explosive device from a vehicle, or planting the device inside the convoy, whether in Baghdad or Basra."

The Iraqi authorities issued several warnings of repeated targeting of foreign forces and diplomatic missions in the country.

Washington accuses armed Iraqi factions linked to Iran of being behind the attacks.

    No faction claimed responsibility.

On Wednesday, the US-led Coalition denied what Iraqi factions claimed that an army convoy had been targeted in Syria.

Earlier today, a little-known Iraqi Shi'ite militia group named Ashab al-Kahf had said that it destroyed a US military convoy on the Syrian territory.

In brief, the Global Coalition said, "information claimed by militias that they are adopting the operation of targeting an American military convoy in Syria do not reflect reality."

New York's crunch time to finally fix criminal justice
[NYPOST] It’s crunch time for state budget negotiations, with all manner of nonsense obscuring the No. 1 issue: the urgent need for major fixes to the no-bail law and other botched criminal-justice "reforms." As we’ve said before, a late budget — even weeks late — is better than one that doesn’t do the job.

If they don’t do the right fixes now, after two previous tries, it’ll take a voter revolution to force their hand.

Even Gov. Kathy Hochul’s 10-point criminal-justice plan may not do enough. As former Queens prosecutor Jim Quinn noted for The Post, it overfocuses on gun-related crimes, ignoring violent mostly peaceful perps who use knives or other weapons.

New York judges must get the power the other 49 states allow: to order jail for perps they deem dangerous or at high risk of reoffending, all the way down to serial shoplifters. Unless a gun is involved, Hochul’s "fix" doesn’t allow jail pending trial for those charged with attempted murder, rape, robbery, burglary, first-, second- and third-degree assault, grand larceny, stalking or drug sales, among hundreds of other offenses.

Part of the problem, clearly, is that the gov doesn’t want to offend politicians by saying they botched it big-time. Thus, she "defended" her plan with a Daily News column that pretends it was purely the pandemic that caused the two-year crime wave.

Bull: While progressive "anti-law-enforcement" has pushed up crime all across the country, New York needs to focus on the mistakes that did the damage here.

    China-Japan-Koreas
China gains a foothold in Australia's backyard
[BBC] Late last week, a proposed security treaty between China and a tiny chain of islands in the Pacific sent shock waves across the ocean.

The leaked draft signalled that China could deploy troops to the Solomon Islands - and potentially establish a naval base there.

Nowhere was more alarmed than the Solomons' neighbour to the south, Australia - the bedrock regional partner of the Aukus alliance, a new security pact in the Pacific Ocean with the US and UK.

"The details of this deal are still uncertain. But even if it's smaller than the feared military base, it would be China's first foothold in the Pacific," says Prof Alan Gyngell from the Australian Institute of International Affairs.

The Solomon Islands and Australia have long been interlinked. Since World War Two, Australia has been the islands' largest aid donor, development partner and until now the sole security partner.

Australia's government was rocked and likely blindsided by the move, analysts say. Not that it hadn't been warned. Five years ago, Canberra sensed that China was encroaching on its "backyard" with Solomon internal politics at the time also driving up Chinese loans and economic investment.

Solomons ready to sign security pact, denies pressure for China base

[BenarNews] A controversial security agreement with China is "ready for signing," the leader of the Solomon Islands told Parliament but without revealing the details, saying only that his government had not been pressured to let China build a naval base in the country.

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare made the remarks to Parliament late Tuesday, according to multiple news reports. Neighboring powers have expressed concern over the pact that China has defended as normal cooperation with Pacific island nations.

"We are not pressured in any way by our new friends and there is no intention whatsoever to ask China to build a military base in the Solomon Islands," Sogavare was quoted as saying.

A draft agreement leaked online last week would allow Beijing to set up bases and deploy troops in the Solomon Islands, which lies about 1,700 km (1,050 miles) from the northeastern coast of Australia.

The document provoked fears in the region’s traditional powers, Australia and New Zealand, with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern saying that her country sees the pact as "gravely concerning."

It is unclear whether the leaked draft differs from the final agreement.

Sogavare told politicians that to achieve the nation’s security needs, "it is clear that we need to diversify the country’s relationship with other countries" but existing security arrangements with Australia would remain.

His policy of "diversification" was evident in November 2021 when Sogavare asked Australia, and after that China, to send police forces to help him quell violent mostly peaceful riots that rocked the capital, Honiara.

Alexander Vuving, a professor with the Hawaii-based Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, said Sogavare’s strategy is not unusual for leaders of small Pacific island states who are "willing to play the major powers off against each other, thus bloating their states’ values to the major powers."

A Chinese foreign ministry front man said on Tuesday that "normal law enforcement and security cooperation between China and Solomon Islands ... is consistent with international law and customary international practice."

"We hope relevant countries will earnestly respect Solomon Islands’ illusory sovereignty and its independent decisions instead of deciding what others should and should not do in a condescending manner," front man Wang Wenbin said.

    CHINA’S GROWING PRESENCE IN PACIFIC
Beijing doesn’t hide its ambition to set up military bases in the region. Some Chinese analysts, such as Qi Huaigao, an associate professor at Fudan University, suggested that in order to compete with the United States in the Western Pacific, China needs to have bases in Solomon Islands, Samoa and Vanuatu for commercial and military supply purposes.

In 2018, media reports about China’s plan to build a base in Vanuatu prompted a stern warning from then-Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

David Capie, director of the Center for Strategic Studies at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, told Radio Free Asia earlier this week that China "wants to be able to operate its rapidly growing navy out in the wider Pacific, complicating U.S. plans in the event of a future conflict."

"A base in the Pacific would let People’s Liberation Army Navy vessels operate far away from their home ports for longer and in the future might also be used for intelligence gathering and surveillance," he said.

It would greatly boost China’s capabilities in intelligence-collecting which is alleged to have often been done by marine research vessels.

Data provided by the ship-tracking website MarineTraffic show that China’s spacecraft-tracking ship Yuanwang-5 is currently operating in the Western Pacific, not far from the Solomon Islands.

Yuanwang-class ships are "multi-purpose signals and technical intelligence gathering platforms," said Paul Buchanan, director of the Auckland, New Zealand-based 36th Parallel Assessments risk consultancy.

The Yuanwang-5’s presence is normal but "it would not be surprising if it makes a port visit to Honiara as part of the deployment in order to register the seriousness of China’s intent in the region," Buchanan said.

Maxine Waters warns reporter over LA homeless story: 'You'll hurt yourself'
[NYPOST] Rep. The Ageless and Downright Brilliant Comrade Maxine Impeach 45! Waters
...U.S. Representative for California's 43rd congressional district, serving since 1991, a total of 30.32936 years. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the most senior of the twelve black women currently serving in the United States Congress, and a member and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the California Assembly, to which she was first elected back when Disco was in flower, in 1976, which would make it 45.32730 years. She has been a politician for virtually all her adult life. If she was a little brighter she'd be a Communist...
(D-Calif.) tried to stop the publication of a news story about Los Angeles’ homeless crisis this week, reportedly telling a Los Angeles Times scribe: "You’ll hurt yourself and the community trying to put this together."

The Wednesday story by investigative news hound Connor Sheets detailed a March 25 incident in South Los Angeles, where hundreds of homeless people tried to obtain Section 8 housing vouchers after being misled by social media rumors.

The would-be applicants crashed an event held by nonprofit advocacy group Fathers and Mothers Who Care, which had been meant to help the unhoused obtain emergency shelter.

The confusion reportedly overwhelmed the non-profit as well as Los Angeles Housing Services Authority (LAHSA) workers who told the unexpected arrivals that they would only be able to provide their information and enter an emergency housing database.

At one point, Waters told the crowd: "I want everybody to go home," triggering an angry response.

"We don’t got no home, that’s why we’re here!" one member of the crowd yelled back, according to the LA Times. "What home we gonna go to?"

Waters reportedly responded by laughing and saying: "Nothing is going to happen here today."

Soon after, Waters appeared to grow frustrated by a question from a local housing advocacy nonprofit.

One homeless disabled woman, Joyce Burnett, told the Times that Waters instructed the crowd to come back to the South Angeles office the following Tuesday with appropriate documents.

"Maxine Waters was here, and she said to come back Tuesday with our paperwork filled out," Burnett said. "I have it, everything they asked for. But every time we get near the front of the line, they shut the door. They opened the door about 20 minutes ago and said they’re not servicing anyone else today."

When contacted by the LA Times Tuesday, Waters requested the story not be published, saying "it’s a bunch of rumors."

"You’ll hurt yourself and the community trying to put this together without background," she told Sheets, according to the report. "I don’t want you to start trying to write it, you won’t understand it."

Blanca Jimenez, Waters’ district director, responded to questions from the outlet by providing a link to a local TV station’s glowing coverage of Waters’ appearance at the Friday event along with an image of Waters addressing the crowd.

"Someone shared this photo with the office," Jimenez wrote. "Isn’t she brave?"

Waters’ office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

BLM-Antifa rioter pleads guilty over fire bombing attack to kill Portland police
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] An Indianapolis, Indiana, man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday after "repeatedly and intentionally jeopardizing the lives of coppers, destroying public property, and encouraging others to commit violence" during the 2020 Black lives Matter riots in Portland, Oregon, according to the Justice Department.

According to court documents, Malik Fard Muhammad, 25 was charged with possession of unregistered destructive devices, engaging in civil disorder and obstructing law enforcement, and using explosives to commit a federal felony.

On Monday, the defendant pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing unregistered destructive devices, the Department of Justice blurb reads.

A grand jury in Multnomah County had indicted Muhammad last year on allegations that he attempted to murder two coppers during separate riots in Portland by using bombs. The 28-count indictment included first and second-degree attempted murder, attempted aggravated murder, unlawful manufacture of a destructive device, and unlawful use of a weapon.

Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced Tuesday that Muhammad pled guilty to 14 felony charges and received a 10-year prison sentence. In addition, the court imposed over $200,000 in restitution.

Federal prosecutor Adam Delph previously argued in court that "Mr. Muhammad is not some peaceful protester who just got carried away. He was an instigator. He put a community, not his own, in serious danger," The Oregonian reported.

Muhammad traveled to Portland with his girlfriend from their home in Indianapolis to participate in area riots, according to court documents.

According to the DOJ, on Sept. 5, 2020, Muhammad was present during a large civil disturbance in east Portland where demonstrators threw dangerous objects at police, including commercial-grade fireworks, Molotov cocktails, and bottles. One demonstrator was seriously burned by a Molotov cocktail thrown toward police and Muhammad provided baseball bats to rioters, court documents said.

Following Muhammad's arrest in October that year, law enforcement officials confiscated his cell phone and found messages in which he bragged about giving the bats to rioters. Additionally, the phone contained a shopping list of supplies used to make Molotov cocktails, the DOJ statement details.

After the massive protest, police found a discarded bat with a Goodwill price tag near the scene, traced the item to the specific Goodwill store where the bat was purchased, and authorities obtained surveillance footage showing Muhammad and his girlfriend buying bats and "growler" bottles.

JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs are scooping up Russian corporate and government bonds at rock-bottom prices in hope of turning massive post-war profit
[NYPost] Wall Street banks and hedge funds including JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs are scooping up Russian corporate and government bonds at rock-bottom prices in the hopes of turning a massive post-war profit, according to reports.

The risky investments come as other finance giants who specialize in snapping up distressed debt have stayed on the sidelines, noting that Russia has been sanctioned and ostracized from the Western economy because of its brutal military invasion of Ukraine.

The sanctions, which do not prohibit Western financial entities from trading in Russian bonds, have reduced demand for Russian corporate and government debt while creating irresistibly high yields.

For the second year now, a number of experts and journalists have pointed out that the price of gas, which began to rise in 2021, is an artificially created "bubble": traders controlled by Gazprom increased the hype in the market.

20:00 The Ministry of Culture announced that from April 1, institutions of culture and arts - theaters, operas and concert halls - will gradually start working in Ukraine.

19:57 The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry denied Lavrov's words that "the Ukrainian side demonstrates understanding that the issues of Crimea and Donbass have been finally resolved." Kyiv claims that such a vision is "erroneous", and "the issues of Crimea and Donbass will be finally resolved after the resumption of Ukraine's sovereignty over them."

19:56 According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia is considering the possibility of transporting faulty equipment to the occupied territories of the Donetsk region for its further restoration.

02:59 Scholz said that Russia attacked Ukraine, guided by "extremely imperialistic views," and the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is aimed at seizing territory.

02:15 The White House said that the Russians are blocking 94 civilian ships with food in the Black Sea region and have already bombed three civilian ships carrying goods from Black Sea ports around the world.

01:37 The Foreign Ministry says that Russia, having mined the Black Sea, is trying to discredit Ukraine in front of its international partners - the invaders are using mines seized in Crimea in 2014.

00:59 Russia withdraws troops from the Kiev and Chernihiv regions in order to transfer them to the Donbass, the General Staff declares.

00:11 Zelensky said that a new functionality is already available in Die to compensate for the destruction of houses or apartments as a result of hostilities.

00:02 British intelligence admits that Russia's statements about a decrease in activity around Kiev and the withdrawal of some units from these areas may indicate a recognition that the Russian Federation has lost the initiative in the region. It is likely that Russia will try to transfer combat power from the north to the offensive in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

#4  Simply evil. The author of this article says it well-- "evil laid bare."

When you have executives of the most powerful entity with access to the imaginations of children on planet Earth openly admitting, even bragging, about their work propagandizing and indoctrinating children into queerness and gender ideology, the evil is laid bare.

Nobody has an excuse now not to know this. You moms and dads who let your kids watch the Disney Channel, and consume Disney products — what are you going to do? Look away? Don’t you dare look away. The responsibility is now yours. What are you going to do about it?

Palestinians Celebrate, Hand out Candy After Terror Attack that Killed 5 in Tel Aviv
[Breitbart] Palestinians in multiple cities came out in droves to celebrate a shooting attack by a terrorist in a Tel Aviv suburb on Tuesday evening that killed five people.

The terrorist, identified as Diaa Hamarsheh, 26, a Palestinian from near the West Bank city of Jenin, smuggled into Israel illegally and began a shooting spree with an M16 assault rifle in the ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak in central Israel, as Breitbart News reported.

    Government Corruption
Washington Post joins New York Times in finally admitting emails from Hunter Biden laptop are real
[NYPOST] The Washington Post on Wednesday became the second major news outlet to reverse course and admit that emails from the infamous Hunter Biden laptop are authentic — nine months after it obtained them and a year and a half after the New York Post first reported on them. The paper said two security experts used cryptographic signatures from Google and other technology companies to validate nearly 22,000 emails from 2009 to 2019, including messages related to Hunter Biden’s controversial overseas business dealings.

Some verified emails involved a deal President Biden’s son pursued with the CEFC China Energy conglomerate for which he was paid nearly $5 million, according to the Washington Post.

Other verified emails related to his work for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, for which Hunter Biden was paid as much as $83,333 or a month, or $1 million a year.

In October 2020, the New York Post exclusively revealed the existence of Hunter Biden’s emails after being given a copy of the hard drive from a damaged MacBook Pro laptop that the owner of a repair shop in the Biden family’s hometown of Wilmington, Del., said was dropped off in April 2019 and never retrieved.
Lord Garth gives us the original Washington Post article:
The deal was years in the making, the culmination of forging contacts, hosting dinners, of flights to and from China. But on Aug. 2, 2017, signatures were quickly affixed, one from Hunter Biden, the other from a Chinese executive named Gongwen Dong.

Within days, a new Cathay Bank account was created. Within a week, millions of dollars started to change hands.

Within a year, it would all begin to collapse.

India set to sharply ramp up imports from Russia, develop SWIFT alternative for rouble-trade as Lavrov visits
[Yahoo] Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is set to fly to India this week, sources said, finding time to visit to one of the biggest buyers of Russian commodities since the international community began isolating Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine.

There is little sign that buying will slow down any time soon, as more deals get signed. One source said the two countries could discuss smoothening trade payments disrupted by Western sanctions on Russian banks. Media have said he could hold talks in the Indian capital on Friday.

It will only be Lavrov's third visit overseas since Russia's Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine, after a trip to Turkey for talks with his Ukrainian counterpart earlier this month and a scheduled meeting in China on Thursday.

Russia is India's main supplier of defence hardware but overall annual trade is small, averaging about $9 billion in the past few years, mainly fertiliser and some oil. By comparison, India's bilateral trade with China is more than $100 billion a year.

But given sharp discounts on Russian crude oil since the attack on Ukraine, India has bought at least 13 million barrels, compared with nearly 16 million barrels imported from the country for the whole of last year. Many European countries have also continued to buy Russian energy despite publicly criticising Moscow.

#2  All this makes sense to me. Ukraine means as little to India as it means to us.

And with the US now proving we'll do our best to cripple you financially if you do something we don't like, India is wise to hedge its bets.
