#1  Don't understand what's shocking. I can see the argument that maybe we sanitize death too much, but hiding massive injuries seems like a kindness, not something goulish.

(But, then, there are two morticians in my extended family, and one of them spent some time with the federal Disaster Mortuary Response Team, so maybe I'm sanguine about it all.)

Report: Kamala Harris Faces Another Staff Shakeup After Internal Friction
[Breitbart] What a treasure she is and how lucky were these people to work for her?
Deputy Chief of Staff Michael Fuchs will abandon Vice President Kamala Harris in the coming weeks, according to Reuters. Fuchs’s departure marks the sixth departure of a top staffer in recent months.

Fuchs, a former staffer in former Presidents Bill Clinton’s and Barack Obama’s administrations, worked with Harris on both international and domestic policies. He also coordinated staff and traveled with the vice president abroad.

Harris’s office, which has been tossed to and fro by "disorder, bad press, and, at times, internal frictions" because of Harris’s reported "abusive environment," where staffers have been "treated like shit," has had a slew of resignations and departures in recent months during political "shitshow" resets.

Those who have left Harris include Kate Childs Graham, director of speechwriting for Harris; Senior Adviser Symone Sanders; Peter Velz, director of press operations; Vince Evans, deputy director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs; and Communications Director Ashley Etienne.
While Fuchs will depart Harris’s team, the vice president is hiring a new chief speechwriter after struggling to clearly communicate her initiatives, according to Reuters.

While Fuchs will depart Harris’s team, the vice president is hiring a new chief speechwriter after struggling to clearly communicate her initiatives, according to Reuters.

Just last week, Harris delivered a speech in which she struggled to convey that the United States would be providing economic assistance to Jamaica, confusedly saying, "One of the issues ... that is economic in the way of its impact has been the pandemic."

Two weeks ago, the vice president rambled about the "significance of the passage of time" during a speech in Sunset, Louisiana. Harris mentioned the "significance of the passage of time" four times within 32 seconds.

The way I understand it, a Vice President must fit the eligibility requirements of the President. A President can only serve two terms, so if they served two already they can't be Vice President, if they served one they could be.

Fans Not Happy as Entire 'Final Four' Basketball Team Refuses to Take the Court During National Anthem
[Western Journal] They’re going to be playing for the national championship, but they’re already losers in the court of public opinion.

The South Carolina Gamecocks drew national attention Friday when they stayed off the court for the playing of the national anthem before their game in the Final Four of the NCAA’s women’s basketball tournament in Minneapolis.

While the team under coach Dawn Staley has been off the court for the anthem all year, like many of their competitors, the practice made news this weekend — because of how their opponent behaved.

The Louisville Cardinals honored the anthem on the basketball court, and fans noticed the difference.

‘Zero Accountability’ – Police Cleared in Rotherham ‘Grooming’ Rape Gangs Scandal
Shameful. May they all burn in Hell.
[Breitbart] The investigation into the police’s handling of the Rotherham grooming gang scandal, in which an estimated 1,400 young girls were sexually abused, has failed to impose any criminal penalties or see any officers fired for misconduct.

In a decision widely condemned by victims’ rights activists, politicians, and lawyers, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has cleared former detective David Walker of any wrongdoing in the Rotherham child sex abuse scandal. The decision to not punish Walker means that all 47 officers who were investigated following the 2014 Jay Report in grooming gang failures have not faced punishment.

Walker, formerly of the of the South Yorkshire Police, had been accused of ignoring tips about potential child grooming, but the IOPC claims that he “acted appropriately with any information” provided to him, the BBC reports.

Jayne Senior MBE, a key witness in the inquiry who ran the Risky Business youth project between 1999 and 2011, said that the former detective had failed to investigate information about two young teenage girls being sexually abused by a taxi driver, with Senior claiming he had said: “This appears to be a matter for social services.”

Providing evidence to the inquest this week, Walker claimed to have been working on up to 180 cases at any given time. He went on to admit that he did not always record information regarding child sex abuse in police databases, but said that the information was sent to other officers or there was a reasonable expectation that other officers would investigate.

Former police detective turned rape gang whistleblower Maggie Oliver said that the decision to clear all the officers involved in the Rotherham scandal demonstrated the “corrupt” nature of investigations into police.

“Expectations are far too low, senior officers should be monitoring and supervising these decisions anyway, and standards are just not high enough when it comes to children being raped!” Oliver wrote on social media.

“But unfortunately I am not shocked. We see this all too often, and usually these cases aren’t brought to public attention. But they are not rare.

“It’s corrupt! They should ALL hang their heads in shame. It still makes my blood boil even after all these years!”

Sarah Champion, the Labour MP for Rotherham, said that the decision not to prosecute any police officers will be a “bitter disappointment” for the grooming gang victims.

“Child sexual exploitation was treated as low priority. Investigations were under-resourced. Officers were untrained and, far too often, uncaring,” the Labour MP said.

“The result was that potentially thousands of children were abandoned to abuse of the most shocking kind.”

The inquiry, dubbed Operation Linden, was launched following the publishing of the Jay Report in 2014, which found that at least 1,400 girls were subjected to sexual abuse.

The report said that authorities should not overlook the reality of mostly white young girls being groomed by mostly Pakistani heritage for fear of being branded as racist.

A 2020 report from the Independent Office for Police Conduct which just cleared officers of wrong said that police did just that, observing that police officers in Rotherham overlooked children being sexually abused by “Asian” rape gangs due to politically correct fears within the police force.

One police chief inspector was quoted in the report as telling a father of a missing girl that Rotherham would “erupt” if they were informed that “Asian” grooming gangs were abusing young white girls.

Operation Linden investigated 47 police officers. While eight were said to have committed “gross misconduct”, so far none have been either fired or face criminal charges.

Attorney David Greenwood, who represented a number of Rotherham grooming gang victims, said of the inquiry: “It’s extremely disappointing that despite the best efforts of the brave women I represent, the police discipline system has delivered zero accountability.”

Greenwood went on to warn that the lack of punishment for police misconduct would result in a lack of trust for the police force from future victims.

The IOPC’s director of major investigations, Steve Noonan said: “We now need to consider the judgment and any potential impact on one ongoing investigation as part of Operation Linden before we will be able to publish our report, which will cover 91 investigations completed so far.

“Our priority remains the welfare of the survivors who took the difficult decision to come forward. They have shown a great deal of bravery both prior to and throughout our investigations and we must be respectful of the experiences they have gone through.”

The full report from Operation Linden is expected to be published later this month.

Arabia
First fuel ship allowed in Yemen's Hodeida as part of truce
[An Nahar] A tanker carrying badly needed fuel arrived in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
's blockaded port of Hodeida on Sunday, as a cease-fire meant to stop the fighting in the war-torn country for two months entered its first full day.

The truce agreement, which took effect Saturday evening, allows for shipments of fuel to arrive in Hodeida and for passenger flights to resume from the airport in the capital of Sanaa. Both Hodeida and Sanaa are held by the Iranian-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels.

The agreement comes after a significant escalation in hostilities in recent weeks that saw the Houthis claim several attacks across the country's borders, targeting the United Arab Emirates and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Essam al-Motwakel, front man for the Houthi-run oil corporation, said the Saudi-led coalition allowed the vessel — carrying mazut, a low-quality fuel oil — into the port at Hodeida. The port handles about 70% of Yemen's commercial and humanitarian imports.

He called on U.N. envoy Hans Grundberg, to work with the coalition and accelerate the arrival of other vessels to ease a longtime fuel crisis in Houthi-held areas.

During the two-month truce, the Saudi-led coalition will allow 18 vessels carrying fuel into the port of Hodeida, and two commercial flights a week from the Yemeni capital to Jordan and Egypt, according to a copy of the truce obtained by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The U.N. envoy has called for both sides to agree on opening roads around Taiz and other provinces, the cease-fire document said. Taiz, which remains partially held by the forces fighting on behalf of the internationally recognized government, has been blockaded by the Houthis for years.

"The success of this initiative will depend on the warring parties' continued commitment to implementing the truce agreement with its accompanying humanitarian measures," Grundberg said Saturday in announcing the truce had taken effect.

Ethiopia: ICRC resumes aid convoys to Tigray after six months
[Garowe] An International Committee of the Red Thingy (ICRC) convoy carrying medical assistance, food, and water treatment supplies arrived in the Tigray region on Saturday, 2nd April 2022, through Afar. This is the first ICRC convoy reaching the region by road since September 2021.

"Many people affected by the conflict in Tigray live in extremely challenging conditions, unable to access healthcare, sufficient food supplies, and basic goods and services," said Nicolas Von Arx, the head of the ICRC delegation in Æthiopia. "In addition, a lack of medication and medical equipment has placed enormous strain on the region's health-care system and medical staff."

"The ICRC welcomes the current ceasefire and the willingness of the parties to the conflict to facilitate passage of much-needed humanitarian aid into Tigray," he added. "It is vital that the assistance keeps reaching the region on a regular basis."

The ICRC convoy carried medicines, medical equipment, emergency food, water pumps, and water treatment chemicals, along with essential household items such as jerricans, solar lamps, mattresses, and kitchen sets.

Prior to the convoy's arrival, the ICRC conducted almost 40 cargo flights into Tigray since January, delivering life-saving drugs such as insulin, hemodialysis, oxytocin, tetanus toxoid, gloves, and surgical material.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella opened her mouth at precisely the wrong moment...
in the Afar region, 9,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) recently received food delivered by the ICRC, including wheat flour, split peas, salt, and oil. A further 9,000 IDPs in Afar are currently being assisted with emergency household items.

Biden Wants to Replace Border Detention Centers with ‘House Arrest' and Provide Illegals with Taxpayer-Funded Attorneys
[Breitbart] Joe Biden continues to import illegals into the United States and wants funds to put migrant border crossers under “house arrest” and provide them with taxpayer-funded attorneys to fight deportation.

The move will make the numbers at detention centers decrease while the illegal population will continue to grow inside the U.S. and will provide a road map for relatives and others who are trying to get into the U.S.

The San Antonio Express News reported the protocol could include ankle bracelets and phone apps to allegedly keep track of the thousands and thousands of people being released inside the country. The provision is buried in Biden’s $5.8 trillion 2023 budget proposal.

The Express News report said:

The president’s budget calls for cutting thousands of beds in immigrant detention facilities — and shutting down two family detention centers in Texas — while spending $75 million more on alternative programs, such as monitoring migrants with ankle bracelets or phone check-ins. The administration estimates as many as 200,000 migrants could be enrolled in such programs by October, according to budget documents.

The president is also calling for $375 million to speed up the asylum system, including hiring more than 1,000 new U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officers to adjudicate claims on the border, rather than sending them to backlogged courts.

His budget request asks for more than $2 billion to stand up emergency shelters for unaccompanied children, an effort to avoid the overcrowding in Border Patrol facilities that sparked outrage a year ago. His budget would also spend roughly $150 million to fund attorneys for migrants in detention or facing deportation, which would be a first. The government has not paid those costs in the past.

The backdrop to Biden’s border security policies is that the number of border crossers is starting to rise and is expected to surge under the president’s policies. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said that 7,000 migrants are being stopped every day crossing the border from Mexico, up from a daily average of about 5,900 in February, according to the Associated Press.

Now White House blames border crisis on CONGRESS as administration braces for massive influx of asylum claims as CDC announced impending end to pandemic-era Title 42

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain seemed to suggest that Congress is to blame for the southern border crisis not the White House

  • 'Look, we need to do more work at the border,' Klain told ABC's This Week during an interview on Sunday morning

  • He added: 'The president sent an immigration plan to Congress on his first day in office. We've asked consistently for more resources'

  • Experts warn that the migration influx at the southern border could triple once Title 42 ends on May 23

Court Martial proceedings started against officer involved in Amshipora Encounter: Army
[GREATERKASHMIR] Army on Monday said that Court Martial proceedings have been against an erring Rashtriya Rifles Army Captain for violating the powers vested under the Armed Force Special Powers Act in Amshipora staged encounter.

" The Court Martial preceding’s have been started some time earlier and they have been going on," bigwigs of Army’s 15 Corps told Greater Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Sunday evening.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's other gun out of his other hand......
PRO (Defence) Srinagar in a statement said, "The Army has initiated general court martial proceedings against a Captain in Op Amshipura, Shopian in south Kashmir in July 2020 after the Court of Inquiry and the Summary of Evidence indicated a need for disciplinary proceedings.

Indian Army is committed to ethical conduct of operations. Further updates on the case will be shared in a manner so as not to prejudice due process of law.''

The proceedings are going on against Captain Bhopinder Singh who was then heading operation party in which three Chenab valley youth were killed in a staged encounter.

On July 18, the Army had claimed that three snuffies had been killed in an operation at Amshipora in Shopian. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
on the same day, J&K police distanced itself from the encounter and said in a statement that the input for the operation had come from the Army.

A month later, after coming across pictures of the "slain terrorists" on social media, the families of the three said they were labourers and that Mohd Ibrar, the youngest, was 16 years old.

On August 18, while setting up a probe into the killings, the Army said in a statement: "DNA samples have been collected from Rajouri under the aegis of JKP and sent for matching with the faceless myrmidons killed on 18 Jul 2020."

Admitting that the three youths who were killed in an encounter at Shopian on July 18 were missing labourers from Rajouri, as claimed by their families last month, the Army had said its probe had "prima facie" found that its troops exceeded powers under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) — and directed disciplinary proceedings against those "answerable".

The Army had ordered a Court of Inquiry into the encounter after the three families came forward to say the youths were cousins — one of them was reportedly 16 years old — who had gone to Kashmir for work and not been in touch since July 17 night.

‘A case that shocks the soul’: Esther Horgen’s murderer sentenced to life in prison
[IsraelTimes] Muhammad Mruh Kabha killed the mother of six in a gruesome terror attack in December 2020, reportedly as vengeance for the death of a security prisoner

Muhammad Mruh Kabha
...also spelt Mohammad Maroh Kabaha...
was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Samaria Military Court on Sunday for murdering Esther Horgen, an Israeli from the Tal Menashe settlement in the northern West Bank.

Handing down its decision, the court said, "This is a case that shocks the soul" and called Kabha’s actions an "inconceivable evil."

On December 20, 2020, Horgen, 52, a mother of six, went for a hike in the Reihan forest, near her home in Tal Menashe. Kabha, who had been waiting in the area for a potential victim to pass by, chased her and knocked her to the ground.

Horgen tried to fight him off but he pinned her down and then repeatedly hit her over the head with large rocks, causing her to bleed and breaking bones in her arms and chest, until she stopped moving, according to the indictment against him.

"Hearing once again the detailed description of this horrific crime brings us back to very difficult moments and underscores the importance of the court really using all the power given to it by the legislature to take part in the war on terror," Esther’s widower, Benjamin Horgen, said, according to Ynet.

In October, Kabha was convicted of "intentionally causing death," equivalent in military law to murder, as well as an additional charge of conspiracy to shoot at a person. In addition to life imprisonment, Kabha was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered by the court to pay monetary compensation of NIS 3 million ($940 million).
Whoops! As I type, 1 New Israeli Shekel equals US$0.31, so that’s $935,778. The reporter misplaced the decimal
Kabha, 40, from Tura al-Gharbiya near Jenin, was suspected by the Shin Bet security agency of carrying out the terror attack as a form of vengeance for the death of a security prisoner, Kamel Abu Waer, who died of cancer six weeks before the murder.

The Horgen family’s attorney, Maurice Hirsch, criticized the policy of the Paleostinian Authority to pay stipends to the families of Paleostinian security prisoners through the Paleostinian Authority Martyrs Fund, known derisively as "pay for slay."

"During the life of this vile killer in prison, he will earn over NIS 4 million from the Paleostinian Authority. He will enjoy it, his family will enjoy these funds, the Paleostinian Authority will rebuild his destroyed house," he said. "And the Israeli government is doing nothing. The court has gone a long way this morning, even with the compensation ruling, but it is not enough."

Last February, the IDF demolished Kabha’s home in the village of Tura al-Gharbiya.

Horgen’s murder sparked several days of tension in the West Bank. The Israeli security services reported 13 incidents of stone-throwing by settlers against Paleostinians in the days immediately following the killing.

Clashes break out between Palestinians, cops in Jerusalem on second Ramadan night
[IsraelTimes] Rioters again hurl glass bottles, other objects at police; officers respond with riot dispersal measures, using stun grenades and batons while arresting 10

Paleostinian rioters clashed with the Israel Police near Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate on Sunday for the second night of Ramadan in a row. Officers responded far more forcefully, using riot dispersal measures, while carrying out arrests.

Handfuls of rioters hurled glass bottles, rocks, and other objects at a police checkpoint, as was the case on Saturday night.

On Saturday, police managed to contain the situation without using riot dispersal measures, while arresting four. One officer was lightly injured after being struck by a bottle.

Sunday night saw police hurl stun grenades, beat protesters with batons and scatter rioters while on horseback. Police said they arrested at least 10 suspects. A number of arrests were carried out by plain-clothed officers who embedded themselves into the crowd.

A number of the bottles hurled by rioters struck Moslem worshipers as they returned from evening prayers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Protesters also lit fire to a dumpster near the Old City’s Damascus Gate.

Earlier Sunday, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid toured the Damascus Gate area with Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai and politicians from his Yesh Atid party.

Lapid told officers, "We give you full backing," as he was given a security briefing by Shabtai and other senior officers, including Jerusalem District Commander Turgeman.

"This is a difficult, tense period, but we have a police force that can be relied on to get us through this complex period," he said, according to a statement from his office.

Lapid added that over 8,000 coppers will be deployed across the country during the upcoming Passover holiday.

The visit was condemned by the Paleostinian Authority Foreign Ministry as a "provocation," which accused Lapid of inciting against Paleostinians.

The PA insisted that Jewish bandidos Lions of Islam were the ones putting public order at risk in Jerusalem, in an apparent reference to visits by Jewish ultra-nationalists to the Temple Mount, and the recent takeover of the Petra Hotel near the Old City’s Jaffa Gate by the far-right Ateret Cohanim group.

Lapid was also joined Sunday by Economy Minister Orna Barbivai and Deputy Public Security Minister Yoav Segalovich.

According to a statement from Lapid’s office, Shabtai said police are at "peak readiness," citing Ramadan and the recent attacks.

#11  Read "Journalists for Hire: How the CIA Buys the News"
by Udo Ulfkotte, former editor at FAZ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). It's in German, sorry.

Also Glenn Greenwald's explanation of how the security agencies spread fake news: "One large news outlet publishes a false story based on whispers from anonymous security state agents with the CIA or FBI, and then other news outlets quickly purport that they have “independently confirmed” the false story, in order to bolster its credibility (oh, it must be true since other outlets have also confirmed it).

"This is an obvious scam — they have not “independently confirmed” anything but rather merely acted as servants to the same lying security state agents who planted the original false story — but they do it over and over, creating the deceitful perception that a fake story has been "confirmed” by multiple outlets, thus bolstering its credibility in the public mind. It was the favored tactic for spreading debunked Russiagate frauds and is still used."

The Pentagon is investigating extremism in the military. Here's how bad the problem is
[FoxNews] Dozens of current and former service members spoke to Fox News about extremism within the ranks.

The Pentagon’s most recent search for extremists within the ranks was just the latest failure to find evidence that the military is a breeding ground for violent radicals, a Fox News review has found.

The Department of Defense identified fewer than 100 instances of confirmed extremist activity in 2021, the Pentagon reported in December. Despite significant rhetoric from Democrats, media pundits and activists, the finding was unsurprising to more than 30 current and former service members who spoke with Fox News.

The article has also been corrected to note that The New School is based in New York, and is not part of the university.

The University of Texas accepted a man known as the “commie cadet” as a graduate student in the university’s history department.

Spenser Rapone, also known as the “commie cadet,” was removed from the U.S. Army on an “other-than-honorable” discharge after he posted photos praising communism during a West Point graduation ceremony. Rapone has since started attending the University of Texas as a graduate student.

During a May 2016 graduation ceremony, Rapone was photographed opening his dress uniform to show a T-shirt with a red image of socialist icon Che Guevara. Guevara is a Marxist revolutionary who played a major role in the Cuban Revolution. In a second image, Rapone is seen raising his fist and showcasing the inside of his hate which reads, “Communism will win.”

Rapone echoed this sentiment on Twitter.

According to Army Times, an investigation into Rapone’s online behavior uncovered that the former cadet used his online presence to advocate for a socialist revolution and disparage high-ranking military officers. Rapone was reprimanded for “conduct unbecoming of an officer.”

West Point released a statement after Rapone’s photos caused an uproar on social media. “In no way [do Rapone’s actions] reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army.”

Speaking to The Associated Press, Rapone said that he considers himself a “revolutionary socialist.” He encouraged members of the armed forces to stop fighting on behalf of the United States, or as he calls the country, “the agents of imperialism.”

“I consider myself a revolutionary socialist,” Rapone said. “I would encourage all soldiers who have a conscience to lay down their arms and join me and so many others who are willing to stop serving the agents of imperialism and join us in a revolutionary movement.”

In an interview with Jacobin, Rapone said that he does not believe that the U.S. military fights for “freedom,” “truth,” or “justice.”

“I was always told growing up that the U.S. military protects the innocent, that we fight for freedom, truth, and justice,” Rapone said. “It didn’t take me long to realize that my experiences did not reflect that in the slightest… We were just persecuting and terrorizing some of the most exploited people on Earth with one of the most technologically advanced militaries in history.”

Rapone’s University of Texas biography states that he has a continued interest in socialism and conducts research on the subject. In particular, he researches “Ba’thism,” which is a fusion of socialism and Arab nationalism.

“[Rapone’s] research is primarily concerned with the question of the spirit and soul in modern thought,” his biography reads. “Specifically, he seeks to reconstruct and historically situate politico-theological ideologies such as Ba’thism and similar thought-forms in the Arab World and beyond.”

His biography fails to mention his military service or his “other-than-honorable” discharge.

Rapone’s interests are in “Modern Arab intellectual history, Modern Middle East and North Africa, metaphysics, consciousness, political theology, decolonization, [and] violence.”

Why the Buchan Massacre is a fake
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Alexander Kots

[KP] Ukraine is dispersing a new "crime against humanity". Entering the cities of the Kiev region, which the Russian troops left as part of the regrouping, the nationalists from the terbats suddenly found the streets littered with the corpses of civilians. Traces of torture, bound hands, scarlet blood - footage from the city of Bucha chills the soul.

Ukrainian propaganda paints a terrible picture of the "Russian occupation," under which real sadists bullied the locals. Here it is, Ukrainian Srebrenica. By analogy with the "massacre" of Bosnian Muslims in Yugoslavia, in which the Serbs were accused. Although their version, which was significantly inferior in scale to the official one, no one took into account.

Now I will explain why Srebrenica in Bucha is a lie. I will not analyze the position of bodies relative to the road and look for similarities of corpses in different locations. Many have already done this for me. There, the hands of the “corpses” move, and in the rear-view mirror, the “killed” are resurrected.

The tactics of video dramatizations ceased to amaze me even in Syria, where, based on the productions of the White Helmets, a decision was made to launch massive missile strikes. And here the teachers of information-psychological operations are the same - with brightly protruding British ears.

I'm talking about something else. I have been to cities like Bucha in the Kiev region. And under Bucha was. I saw how the attitude of the locals towards the Russian military was changing.

At first they were feared - the result of in-depth brainwashing on TV. Then the attitude was wary, when curiosity won, and people crawled out of the cellars. Then - business: the locals established a natural exchange with the military. For example, we changed gasoline for the generator for milk and cottage cheese. Moreover, we did not demand milk, giving fuel free of charge. But the neighbors considered it their duty to "pay back." The military gave dry rations, brought medicines ... And if they forced someone to go down to the basement, it was only for their own safety.

But this, of course, is not the main argument in favor of the fact that the Ukrainian "Srebrenica" is a fake. Russian troops did not completely control Buch for a single day during the month and a half. And the situation there was not conducive to "persistent" communication with the locals. Constant battles, shelling, head-on collisions - not before.

The truth is that Russian troops left Bucha as part of a regrouping a few days before the "victims of the occupation" were discovered. The Armed Forces of Ukraine did not immediately realize this and for almost three more days they covered the city with artillery, under which civilians could well have fallen.

And when they came to their senses, as usual, they began a "witch hunt" in search of those who, in their opinion, collaborated with the "occupation forces." In the fever of wartime, no one bothers to prove themselves, bodies thrown into the wells with their hands tied appear.

Only the condition of these bodies suggests that they were killed yesterday at the latest. I know what corpses look like after lying on the street for several days. Here is a completely different picture.

My arguments, of course, are unlikely to be considered by the President of the European Union, Charles Michel, who launches the hashtag "Buchan massacre" and announces new sanctions against Russia. Although it is not difficult to verify what I say. It is enough to conduct an examination that will indicate the time of death of the unfortunate.

And to correlate with the data of NATO objective control, which will clearly indicate the date of the withdrawal of Russian troops. But this is if you look for the truth. And who needs it in the West.

#1  Russia stooges now stink of desperation. Like their predecessors who worked for Goebbels.

Do they actually believe their own garbage? I imagine this was mainly for internal consumption in Russia to bolster the illusions built on lies - and one that Putin has used to play upon Russian cultural biases. Everyone is a N4zi, don't cha know.

Both sides are heavily pushing propaganda. I say treat all reports with skepticism until independent verification.

But the obvious lies are piling up on the Russian side. The previous war criminal acts of the 331 Regiment are well known by people who are paying attention, and they were at Bucha. Same goes for the Chechen animals the Russians employ. So accusations are plausible, and in the presence of evidence, are believable.

Given the Russian penchant historically for looting and pillaging, as well as rape and deliberate killing of civilians to incite terror (Grozny), these accusations are credible in the face of the satellite and photographic evidence coming to light.

In this case, independent and international news sources have verified many of these things that look like summary executions done by the KGB/GRU back in the day. Interrogated, beaten, then hands bound, one shot to the head.

Pravda, the irony is too much. It now has the same reputation for "truth" as to when it was a Soviet mouthpiece.

Counterterrorism police arrest Palestinian on Route 6 suspected of planning attack
[IsraelTimes] Yamam officers take the man, who was in Israel illegally, for questioning, alleging intention to carry out ’terror activity’ amid string of deadly attacks

Undercover officers from the police’s Yamam counterterrorism unit arrested a Paleostinian man on the Route 6 highway Sunday night, who was suspected of planning a terror attack, police said.

The suspect, who was in Israel illegally, was detained near the Nahshonim Junction. Law enforcement officials said he was suspected of "intending to carry out terror activity."

He was taken for further questioning by the Shin Bet security agency, which had also provided Israel Police with the intelligence on the suspect’s location and alleged intent.

It was not immediately clear what kind of attack the suspect was planning, or where. According to Hebrew media reports, the suspect was unarmed at the time of his arrest.

The highway was briefly closed during the arrest operation.

The arrest comes following a series of deadly terror attacks in Israel within a span of days that left 11 people dead and put Israeli security forces on heightened alert. The escalation has come as the Moslem holy month of Ramadan begins — often a period of high tension in Israel and the West Bank.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Israel was entering a period of "vigilant routine" as security forces work to prevent further terror attacks.

"Terrorists have all kinds of ideas, so we are on high alert, both the Shin Bet and the Israel Police, to identify any hint of an idea or plan for an attack, and thwart it in advance," Bennett said, after troops killed three button men who were allegedly en route from the Jenin area to carry out an attack in Israel in the predawn hours of Saturday. The Yamam unit was also involved in the incident near Jenin.

Israel has ramped up security measures in response to the attacks and deployed additional forces to the West Bank, Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. #11  Russia has some of the biggest reserves of physical gold on the planet, more than enough to back the ruble with a gold standard. This also links the oil price for Russian exports to the gold standard.

In effect, the Bank of Russia's move has put floor under the ruble and also boosted the value of these two physical commodities, physical gold and oil.

Bad news for the dollar. Hyperinflation will hurt the dollar and boost the ruble, also sendcthe price of physical gold upward.

#13  Credit Suisse's Zoltan Pozsar, a currency and interest rate expert who used to be a top official in the US Treasury, argues that Bretton Woods II collapsed when the G7 countries seized Russia's foreign exchange reserves.

Pozsar argues that the next global currency regime will not be driven by the US dollar but by commodities instead. The West's sanctions have created a large gap between Russian and non-Russian commodities' prices, and the only way for markets to close this gap is by ditching the dollar and moving back toward the gold standard. Which is exactly Russia's strategy. Last week the Russian central bank pegged the ruble to gold and forced Russian banks to sell their gold holdings to the central bank at a slightly discounted price.

Russia is in effect arbitraging the sanctions and positioning itself to come out ahead in a post-Bretton Woods, new world monetary order in which commodities are king. This is probably the biggest reason that so many nations around the world are siding with Russia rather than the West.

Russian Perspective: The Bucha Incident
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Russia demanded to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council because of the provocation in Bucha
[REGNUM] Russia demands to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council on April 4 in connection with Ukrainian fakes about the events in Bucha, Kiev region. Dmitry Polyansky , First Deputy Permanent Representative of the country to the UN, announced this on his Telegram channel.

"We will bring presumptuous Ukrainian provocateurs and their Western patrons to clean water," the diplomat said.

As REGNUM reported , video materials with supposedly corpses on the streets of Bucha have been published in Ukrainian public and media outlets. Internet users discovered that these "corpses" were alive, and the Russian Defense Ministry called the incident another provocation.

Meanwhile, Western countries decided to use Ukrainian materials to tighten anti-Russian sanctions.

Accusations of killing civilians are a provocation - Russian Defense Ministry
[REGNUM] Accusations against the Russian military in the killing of civilians in the city of Bucha, Kiev region, are another provocation. This is stated on April 3 in the official statement of the Russian Defense Ministry.

"All the photographs and video materials published by the Kiev regime, allegedly testifying to some kind of “crimes” by Russian military personnel in the city of Bucha, Kiev region, are another provocation," the report said.

As REGNUM reported, the Russian army left this settlement on March 30, after another round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. For all the time the city was under the control of Russian military personnel, local residents did not experience harassment. They could move freely and use mobile communications, as well as travel in a northerly direction. At the same time, the southern outskirts, including residential areas, were shelled around the clock by Ukrainian military personnel.

Also, the Ministry of Defense drew attention to the fact that the so-called "evidence of crimes" in Bucha became known to the public on the fourth day of the withdrawal of the Russian army from there.

Employees of the SBU, as well as Ukrainian television, arrived in the city. At the same time, the bodies of people published by the Kiev regime did not stiffen for at least four days and do not have cadaveric spots, and unclotting blood is not visible in the wounds.

All this also irrefutably confirms that the video footage and photographs from Bucha are another production of the Kiev regime for the Western media. Previously, this has already happened in Mariupol and other cities.

Russian Defense Ministry denies accusations of killing civilians in Bucha
[REGNUM] The Russian Defense Ministry refutes the accusations of the Kiev regime of allegedly killing civilians in the village of Bucha in the Kiev region. This is stated in the official statement of the department.

"All the photographs and video materials published by the Kiev regime, allegedly testifying to some kind of “crimes” by Russian military personnel in the city of Bucha, Kiev region, are another provocation," the message said.

The Ministry of Defense also emphasized that during the entire time this settlement was under the control of the Russian army, not a single local resident suffered from violent actions. Moreover, Russian servicemen delivered 452 tons of humanitarian aid to the Kiev region and gave it to the population.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defense added that the inhabitants of the city freely moved around it and used cellular communications. The exits were not blocked. All local residents were free to travel northward, including to Belarus. At the same time, the southern outskirts of the city, including residential areas, were shelled around the clock by Ukrainian troops from multiple launch rocket systems, tanks and large-caliber artillery.

The Ministry of Defense stressed that on March 30, all Russian units left Bucha. This happened after a face-to-face round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey. And on March 31, the mayor of the city Anatoly Fedoruk confirmed this fact in his video message. Also, he did not even mention any local residents shot in the streets with their hands tied.

“Therefore, it is not surprising that all the so-called “evidence of crimes” in Bucha appeared only on the fourth day, when SBU officers and representatives of Ukrainian television arrived in the city,” the Ministry of Defense noted.

Also, representatives of the department emphasize that all the bodies of people whose images were published by the Kiev regime did not stiffen after at least four days, do not have characteristic cadaveric spots, and unclotting blood is visible in the wounds.

"All this irrefutably confirms that the photographs and video footage from Bucha are another production of the Kiev regime for the Western media, as was the case in Mariupol with a maternity hospital, as well as in other cities," the department concluded.

Miroshnik called the staged video from the city of Bucha an example of the work of Western structures
[RIA Novosti] The staged video of "Russian crimes" in the suburbs of Kyiv is an example of the work of Western PR structures to promote fakes about the situation in Ukraine, Rodion Miroshnik, a diplomatic adviser to the head of the Lugansk People's Republic, said on a telegram channel.

So he commented on the video that appeared in the Ukrainian media and social networks, allegedly filmed in the city of Bucha, where the bodies of the dead lie on the road. Users noticed that the "corpses" move their arms and remove their limbs so as not to fall under the wheels of military equipment, and in the rear-view mirror you can see that one of these "dead" gets up as soon as the car passes by him.

"The conveyor works, but periodically fails, which the West, however, does not notice <...> They are impressed by the "crimes" themselves and the reason to shout loudly that the Russians are murderers. Reveals then no longer interest anyone, you can always dismiss and not be interested in the consequences," - wrote Miroshnik.

He recalled that the American investigators themselves reported that at least 150 PR structures and key Western media companies were working on promoting fake news about the situation in Ukraine.

“And here is an example of their work,” Miroshnik concluded.

Ukraine has upper hand in information war, but Russia eyes a long game
[IsraelTimes] Kyiv’s messaging and communications resonate in the West, experts say, while Russia focuses inward and on India, China, Africa

The words "I need anti-tank ammunition, not a ride," and "Russian warship, go f*ck yourself" are likely to go down in history as some of the most memorable phrases from the Russian war on Ukraine in the winter of 2022.

The first was uttered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky just a day into the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 in response to a US offer to help him leave the country. The second was the defiant response of a Ukrainian border guard stationed at Zmiinyi, or Snake Island, in the Black Sea, on the first day of the war, after he and his fellow guards were ordered to surrender.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
‘Shocked at the viciousness’: Six assailants beat Jewish man on New York City street
[IsraelTimes] Police investigating assault in Brooklyn as a hate crime, make one arrest; ADL offers $10,000 reward for information; governor ’outraged,’ as antisemitic attacks surge

A group of assailants beat a Jewish man on a New York City street on Friday night, the latest in a string of attacks on Jews in the area.

Six males repeatedly punched and kicked the Hasidic Jewish man in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood, causing him minor injuries, according to police and neighborhood groups.

Police are investigating the case as a hate crime and have made one arrest.

There were no "prior words of provocation" between the 21-year-old victim and assailants ahead of the beating, police said.

The New York Police Department released a blurry video of the attack, which appeared to show the group striking the victim and shoving him against the side of the truck, where he collapsed, and the beating continued.

The police also released a video showing the group that allegedly carried out the attack, offered a $3,500 reward for information, and said detectives had arrested a 16-year-old and charged him with gang assault and assault as a hate crime.
I guess the Guardian Angels have found other neighbourhoods more interesting to patrol, or Curtis Sliwa lost track while running for mayor.
The United Jewish Organizations of Williamsburg, a leading community group in the neighborhood, called the incident a "disturbing hate fueled attack."

It said that after the assault, the group of assailants carjacked an Uber driver.

The attack took place on the neighborhood’s Gerry Street, near Harrison Avenue, at 7:55 p.m. on Friday night. Attacks on Jews in the neighborhood often take place on Friday nights, when religious Jews do not carry cell phones, making it more difficult to report crimes. Williamsburg is the home base of the large, tightly-knit Satmar Hasidic community.

The Anti-Defamation League offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Police figures showed 81 antisemitic hate crimes in New York City so far this year, marking an increase of over 300% over the same period last year.

The antisemitic incidents include assaults on city streets against visibly identifiable Jews, racist graffiti, property damage, and verbal abuse.

Jews are targeted in hate crimes more than any other group in New York City, by far, year after year. Anti-Jewish attacks accounted for 38 percent of all confirmed hate crimes in New York City last year, according to NYPD statistics.

In February, there were 56 hate crimes against Jews, compared with 11 during the same month last year. Hate crimes in New York City as a whole climbed by 100% last year, and other types of crime have also been on the rise.

Hate crimes usually do not lead to arrests in New York. The 198 confirmed hate crimes against Jews in New York last year only resulted in 58 arrests.

Last week, hundreds of pro-Paleostinian demonstrators chanted "Globalize the intifada" during a march through Manhattan that stopped at the offices of several Jewish organizations, in what many Jewish and Israel advocates interpreted as alluding to violence against Jews.

The protesters, who called for Israel’s complete dismantlement, say they are targeting the Jewish state, not Jewish people. The event came as Israel grapples with a wave of deadly terrorism that has killed 11 people.

#5  Hey, wait! Does this mean badanov is stooging for Imperial Japan now?

One of the most fascinating subjects of WWII, IMMHO, is the Imperial Japanese Army ground operations in China, 1941-1945.

I recommend: Soldiers of the Sun by Meirioin and Susie Harries which is the most thorough description of Imperial Japanese Army ground operations in China during WWII available.

And The Rising Sun by John Toland which is a less than satifying treatment of the grand strategic aspects of Imperial Japanese Army ground operations during WWII.

And if you're wondering why I find the Imperial Japanese Army ground operations during WWII so fascinating, I often pause and wonder that myself.

It is amazing what they accomplished through 41-42 in the Pacific. It was like they were playing with all the cheat codes on. Pure aggression and a lack of giving a shit beat major European armies despite being outnumbered and under supplied.

Massive balls those guys had.

Pakistan ready to move forward on Kashmir if India agrees: Gen Bajwa
[GREATERKASHMIR] Pakistain's Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said that his country is ready to move forward on Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
if India agrees, Dawn reported.

"Pakistain continues to believe in using dialogue and diplomacy to resolve all outstanding issues, including the Kashmir dispute and is ready to move forward on this front if India also agrees to do so," he said.

He had made similar comments at the Islamabad Security Dialogue last year when he had said it was time for both countries to "bury the past and move forward".

Gen Bajwa highlighted the importance of keeping conflict away from the region, he said Pakistain wanted the Sino-India border to be resolved soon through diplomacy and dialogue as well, Dawn reported.

"I believe it is time for the politicianship of the region to rise above their emotional and perceptional biases and break the shackles of history to bring peace and prosperity to almost three billion people of the region.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel and UAE agree on 'milestone' free trade deal
[SHAFAQ] Israel and the United Arab Emirates have concluded negotiations for a free trade agreement, Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry and the UAE foreign trade minister said.

The UAE and Israel have between $600m and $700m in bilateral trade, UAE’s economy minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri said in September.

The UAE and Israel formally established relations in 2020 as part of the US-brokered Abraham Accords that also included Bahrain and Morocco.

The latest agreement included 95 percent of traded products, which would be customs free — immediately or gradually — including food, agriculture and cosmetic products, as well as medical equipment and medicine, the Israeli economy ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The agreement included regulation, customs, services, government procurement and electronic trade and would come into effect when signed by the countries’ economy ministers and ratified, the statement said, though no timetable was given.

Talks for a free trade agreement had been ongoing since November.

They concluded on Friday after four rounds of negotiations, including last month in Egypt between Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and the UAE’s de facto leader, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"The good relations forged between our two countries are strengthened today by this free trade agreement, which will significantly improve economic cooperation for the benefit of the citizens of both countries," Bennett said.

A separate UAE statement said the agreement would substantially reduce or remove tariffs on a wide range of goods, enhance market access for services and promote investment flows.

It would also create mechanisms for small-and-medium enterprises’ expansion.

"This milestone deal will build on the historic Abraham Accords and cement one of the world’s most important and promising emerging trading relationships," United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Al Zeyoudi said on Twitter.

Paleostinian officials have accused countries that moved to normalise relations with Israel last year of being complicit with Israeli occupation.

Israel hosted a summit this week of top diplomats from the United States and three Arab states — the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco — with which it has normalised ties since 2020.

Sudan also agreed to normalise ties with Israel, although it has yet to finalise a deal.

Feds seize more than $700K worth of cocaine at US-Mexico border
[NYPOST] Federal agents seized more than $700,000 worth of cocaine at the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities announced Friday.

The Customs and Border Protection said field operations members on Thursday "intercepted" 37 packages of the drug, weighing more than 92 pounds, hidden inside a white Chevrolet van crossing the Hidalgo International Bridge.

The bridge connects the Rio Grande and Mexican state of Tamaulipas, according to CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
The narcotics were valued at $715,00, according to CBP.

"Our CBP officers remain vigilant and rely on their experience and all available tools and resources to thwart this smuggling attempt," said Carlos Rodriguez, director of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.

CBP’s Office of Field Operations seized both the cocaine and the car, and the case is being investigated by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations, CBS said.

Europe
Orban scores crushing victory as Ukraine war solidifies support
[Al-Rooters] Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban scored a fourth consecutive landslide win in Sunday's election, as voters endorsed his ambition of a conservative, "illiberal" state and shrugged off concerns over Budapest's close ties with Moscow.

Russia's Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine had appeared to upend Orban's campaign in recent weeks, forcing him into awkward manouvering to explain decade-old cosy business relations with President Vladimir Putin.

But he mounted a successful campaign to persuade his Fidesz party's core electorate that the six-party opposition alliance of Peter Marki-Zay promising to mend ties with the European Union could lead the country into war, an accusation the opposition denied.

Surrounded by leading party members, a triumphant Orban, 58, said Sunday's victory came against all odds.

"We have scored a victory so big, that it can be seen even from the Moon," he said. "We have defended Hungary's sovereignty and freedom."

Preliminary results with about 98% of national party list votes counted showed Orban's Fidesz party leading with 53.1% of votes versus 35% for Marki-Zay's opposition alliance. Fidesz was also winning 88 of 106 single-member constituencies.

Based on preliminary results, the National Election Office said Fidesz would have 135 seats, a two-thirds majority, and the opposition alliance would have 56 seats. A far-right party called Our Homeland would also make it into parliament, winning 7 seats.

His comfortable victory could embolden Orban, 58, in his policy agenda which critics say amounts to a subversion of democratic norms, media freedom and the rights of minorities, particularly gay and lesbian people.

Conceding defeat, Marki-Zay, 49, said Fidesz's win was due to what he called its vast propaganda machine, including media dominance.

"I don't want to hide my disappointment, my sadness ... We knew this would be an uneven playing field," he said. "We admit that Fidesz got a huge majority of the votes. But we still dispute whether this election was democratic and free."

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Why, you ask, is the RUBLE soaring? Here are 8 REASONS. (Hint: Putin was PREPARED for sanctions.)
[DailyReckoning] Here Mish cites all eight Russian actions explaining the rocketing ruble:

  • Russia escaped Visa and Mastercard.

  • Russia still trades oil and gas with Europe.

  • Russia halted currency trades.

  • Russia enacted stock market restrictions.

  • Of Russian exporters, Russia demanded 80% of euros and dollars be traded for rubles.

  • Russia threatens to stop exporting key commodities including aluminum, natural gas, fertilizer, rare earth minerals, etc., driving up prices and the need to stockpile.

  • Sanctions cannot take away Russia’s natural resources.

  • The Fed can print dollars, it cannot print commodities. Likewise, the ECB can print euros, it cannot print commodities.

Is Mr. Shedlock correct? Is the consensus accounting correct? Is neither correct? Are both correct?

We do not know. In our untutored and unprofessional opinion, each side scores its points. Yet we are fairly certain of the ruble’s future — and the dollar’s future.

Both are bleak.

#1  Is Mr. Sherlock correct?
He is certainly correct. Let us count the (eight) ways:
1. Russia escaped Visa and Mastercard.
Yes. Russia has had over a decade to prepare for this. V and NA have a simple business model: it's called extortion. They get away with it in the West because of regulatory capture. Doesn't work in countries where the state is not the lapdog of the Tier 1 banks, as in the West.

2. Russia still trades oil and gas with Europe.
Duh. You'd have to be a "professional military analyst" not to see this central fact.

3. Russia halted currency trades.
4. Russia enacted stock market restrictions.
Duh, again. States matter. Governments > markets. Foolish western neoliberals have forgotten this.

5. Of Russian exporters, Russia demanded 80% of euros and dollars be traded for rubles.
Why? Because they can. Russia is not a weak, shitty little patsy like Iran or Iraq. (In case you forgot.)

6. Russia threatens to stop exporting key commodities including aluminum, natural gas, fertilizer, rare earth minerals, etc., driving up prices and the need to stockpile.
As every trader large or small on the planet knows--but shitheads in the Biden administration have never understood.

7. Sanctions cannot take away Russia’s natural resources.
Yes, Virginia: The world is not digital and still relies on things pulled out of the earth: stuff that feeds, shelters, warms, and powers the transport of physical human beings in a physical world.

8. While the Fed can print dollars, it cannot print commodities. Likewise, while the ECB can print euros, it cannot print commodities.

Hey Obama: you shit for brains, you genius who claimed that "Russia doesn't make anything the world wants": the world is now desperate for all the shit Russia creates and ships.

Oil and gas: the world's desperate for them, you stupid fuck. Look at a price curve, you shitheads.

Coal: soaring. How the fuck do you expect Mutti Merkel to avoid freezing in the dark when there's no alternative fuel and you've shit down nuclear and stiffed Gazprom?

Wheat: let's count the bodies on the starvation path, shall we, now that you've shut down Russian wheat exports that half the world depends on. You complain about "mass graves" in Ukraine. Well, you stupid hypocritical assholes won't be able to dig a big enough grave for the *** MILLIONS *** whom your retarded policies will cause to starve in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. So who's the war criminal now?

Fertilizer: see above-- apply it now to the West. Hey Joey: remember food scarcity during the Depression? Remember when Roosevelt got on the television and talked about how to make a sugar sandwich? Ask CornPop, there's a good boy.

Aluminum. Nickel. Platinum. Palladium. Titanium. Yeah, all those things your batteries and airframes and electric vehicles and semiconductors and a zillion other manufactured goods depend critically upon: THEY COME FROM RUSSIA.

Sanctions are the biggest blowback from arming the mujahideen. Epic fail. Stupidest US foreign policy ever

#8  Those are good and sufficient reasons. Another potential reason is India's progress in creating a trading mechanism for sourcing necessary imports from its Russian ally using rupees exchanged for rubles. India has significantly increased trade with Russia in the past month and will continue to draw closer to Russia, despite Biden's efforts to strong arm us.

We have endured decades of American attempts to bully us and will no longer suffer fools such as Biden telling us we need to join the West in pointless and hypocritical displays of "virtue."

India is also increasing its purchases of rubles. The ruble-rupee trading mechanism will be finalised shortly -- Lavrov was just here and met with Modi.

#10  Goldman Sachs warns the dollar is at risk of losing its dominance, and could end up a lesser player like the UK pound

As everyone sees, a country whose share of international trade is tiny relative to its currency's share of payments must depend upon goodwill and trust. If one uses the dollar as a weapon of war, that goodwill evaporates. The trust is shaken, and countries will seek alternative mechanisms so that they are not vulnerable to American blackmail.

The other reason that the dollar will lose reserve currency status is the hyperinflation that Biden has provoked through his foolish sanctions. It's extraordinary, really, that a country with such extremely weak financials -- enormous external debts and a huge current account deficit -- would deliberately pursue the one policy guaranteed to destroy confidence in its currency. Perhaps it is Biden, not Trump, who is the Kremlin's man in the White House.

#18  /\ You did forget the sarc tag on that one didn't you SC ?
Posted by: Besoeker || 04/04/2022 9:27 Comments || Top||

#19  Russia also restricted currency trades. People who wanted out of the ruble could not get out. In addition, Russia banned foreigners from selling Russia stocks.

This does not create value; it suppresses it. Why buy rubles or invest in Russian companies if you can never profit from them? So the international market for rubles and Russian stocks will shrink, not grow.

This isn't the action of a policy of becoming a major international player -- it's purely protective, nearly nationalization, and a sign of disengagement.

You can let Putin's puppets blow smoke up your nethers all you want -- but don't expect everyone else to join in.

Gina Gopinath, Chief Economist at at the IMF, is a superb macroeconomist. Gina was a rising star in India. We knew she would go far. Our loss is Harvard's and the world's gain.

#21  If I'm going to read fiction this morning I would prefer that it be high-quality fiction.

Chapter 1

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in
possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.

However little known the feelings or views of such a man may
be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well
fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered
the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.

"My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "have you
heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?"

Mr. Bennet replied that he had not.

"But it is," returned she; "for Mrs. Long has just been here, and
she told me all about it."

Mr. Bennet made no answer.

"Do you not want to know who has taken it?" cried his wife
impatiently.

"YOU want to tell me, and I have no objection to hearing it."

This was invitation enough.

"Why, my dear, you must know, Mrs. Long says that Netherfield
is taken by a young man of large fortune from the north of
England; that he came down on Monday in a chaise and four to
see the place, and was so much delighted with it, that he agreed
with Mr. Morris immediately; that he is to take possession
before Michaelmas, and some of his servants are to be in the
house by the end of next week."

"What is his name?"

"Bingley."

I am no Russian apologist and the Ukraine disaster has displayed the very worst in their character, Stalinesque of late, and despicable. Having said that, the West is driving Russia into a vassal connection with China, a far greater threat and frankly, enemy, than Russia has been for decades. Huge swathes of Western economic, cultural and political system successes are being destroyed, and instability is rampant in ways undreamed of even five years ago. The deviation from this descent into this decline was paused by Trump, and the vehemence with which has was assailed, almost always dishonestly, is staggering. Our public policies are insane, the border, energy, debt, Covid waste, racial disunity, crime, etc. Behind every aspect, in the macro perspective, who plays the long game? China, who seemingly owns enormous influence across the spectrum of corporate, media and political power today. Hyperbolic pressures in the media and the posturing of the administration do little to dissuade me from this suspicion. It makes me only wonder....

I don't actually give a crap which side loses the most. The "winner" will mostly get bombed-out crap half occupied by resentful occupados. Oh, one side or the other will have leftists and gerbilists rushing to suck(cor) them. Better them than me.

The crap about how sanctions are ruining the dollar? That was already well on the way, this is the WEF's excuse to accelerate the end of the job. Do you really think people won't find other places to put their wealth (as opposed to holdings) when they see the writing on the wall?

As Tom Robbins said in Even Cowgirls Get The Blues, "The situation was the same as always, desperate as usual..."

#43  "Gullible" is rooted in the term "to swallow." If it's going down my gullet, I, or someone I esteem as a pitmaster, carved it, gripped it and put it on my plate.

I do not have a twat. I could easily be called a c*nt in any land where British slang rules, but the caller better be ready take a pounding.

At the end of the day, I have been called worse by my own mother than any creepy Putinite or Zellllleeeeeennnnnssssskkkkyyyyite (is that how it's spelled right now?) can call me.

#50  *shrug* Paul Krugman is so brilliant he got a Nobel Prize in economics.

Amusingly for the argument, Goldman Sachs has an entire Wikipedia page just for the financial scandals their brilliant people caused. See here to refresh your memory. Bottom line, their job is to entice investment in whatever bit of cleverness the quants just came up with; each week they’re trained in whatever the hot new thing is, then turned loose on their client lists. So if their people are pushing it, I’d be concerned enough to investigate more deeply than otherwise — what they really do is create black swans.

As an aside to Vespasian Ebboting9735 — I’m very sorry you had problems as a result of using your real name here.

Matt: Pride and Prejudice! Austen is a personal favourite — I even have her collected juvenilia. :-)

If the dollar does end up losing its position as the world’s dominant currency, it will be the natural consequence of our politicians choosing deficit spending for almost the entire post-World War II period, coupled with the recent fad for driving manufacturing and mining offshore. And so it will be a learning experience for all involved. On the other hand, a variant on Churchill’s "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others" comes to mind. In this case, if the Republicans can rein in President Biden’s team at the national level after the November election as they’ve been increasingly doing in the states, I don’t see either Russia or China being attractive beyond the short term for all sorts of structural and cultural reasons, leaving the U.S. as the safest refuge regardless of the clearly apparent problems.

#51  One more top Wall Street economist is predicting the end of Bretton Woods II. Credit Suisse's Zoltan Pozsar was one of the smartest people at the US Treasury and he expects another break, similar to the end of the original Bretton Woods regime when President Richard Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard.

"Bretton Woods III" will be based on commodities instead of the dollar. The Russian central bank officials are already thinking three steps ahead, stockpiling gold and preparing to make the ruble into a hard currency backed by Russia's very large gold reserves. Russia is effectively arbitraging the sanctions.

#58  No one here understands basic monetary or macroeconomics. The key is debt relative to gold reserves and the value of those gold reserves relative to money supply.

The US has a fiat currency and a wildly inflated money supply, which imply that the dollar is poised to lose significant value and decline in world usage over the next several years.

Russia's currency and money supply are backed by the gold ratio that is about 9x greater than the dollar's.

Russian external debt: $400 billion
Russian debt to GDP ratio: 17%
US external debt: $30 trillion
US debt to GDP ratio: 125%

Russian gold reserves to Russian money supply
$140b:$170b = 83% coverage with real gold

US gold reserves to US money supply:
$550b:$6 trillion = 9% coverage with real gold

^ This is why every economist, banker and major investor is preparing for an end to Bretton Woods II.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan to go to polls after PM Khan foils sacking attempt
[An Nahar] Pakistain will go to the polls to elect a new government within three months after Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
foiled an attempt to boot him from office Sunday by getting the president to dissolve the national assembly. On a day of high drama, the assembly deputy speaker refused to accept a motion of no confidence in the government, as Khan appeared on TV to say there had been "foreign interference" in Pakistain's democratic institutions.

"I have sent advice to the president to dissolve the assemblies. We will go to the public and hold elections, and let the nation decide," he said.

The presidency -- a largely ceremonial office -- acceded hours later.

No premier of Pakistain has ever completed a full term, and Khan has been facing the biggest challenge to his rule since being elected in 2018, with opponents accusing him of economic mismanagement and bungling foreign policy.

On Sunday parliament was due to debate a no-confidence motion that looked certain to succeed, but the deputy speaker -- a Khan loyalist -- refused to accept it, causing uproar in the chamber.

The move appeared to blindside the opposition, who had confidently predicted they had enough votes to boot Khan from office.

- 'SPARK ANARCHY' -
"This day will be remembered as a black day in Pakistain's constitutional history," said Shehbaz Sharif, leader of the Pakistain Moslem League-N (PML-N), who had been tipped to replace Khan if the vote had succeeded.

Khan's Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
party (PTI) effectively lost its majority in the 342-member assembly last week when a coalition partner said its seven politicians would vote with the opposition.

More than a dozen PTI members had also indicated they would cross the floor.

Khan has accused the opposition of conspiring with "foreign powers" to remove him because he will not take the West's side on global issues against Russia and China.

Earlier this week he accused the United States of meddling in Pakistain's affairs.

Russian Gives Up Chernihiv Also - militaryland sitrep
Nearly all Russian troops have withdrawn from both siege of Kiev (2 April) and Chernihiv (3 April). Probably 10-20k troops total withdrawn from territory about the size of Delaware.

Ukraine is also making some advances in both the east near Sumy and the south near Oleksandrika.

Russia still concentrating on taking the rest of Mariupol (on the Azov Sea) and reinforcing positions near Donetsk in SE.

More than 90 Libyan migrants drown in Mediterranean, says aid group
[IsraelTimes] Oil tanker rescues four people from North Africa but returns them to Libya, according to Doctors Without Borders

More than 90 people in an overcrowded boat drowned in the Mediterranean Sea, a prominent humanitarian group said, in the latest tragedy involving migrants colonists departing from North Africa to seek a better life in Europe.

Doctors Without Borders said late Saturday that the migrants colonists were on a vessel that left Libya last week. It was unclear exactly when the boat ran into trouble, said Juan Matias Gil, the group’s head of mission.

The group, also known by its French acronym MSF, said an oil tanker rescued four migrants colonists early Saturday in international waters. The survivors reported that they were on the boat along with about 100 other migrants colonists, it said.

MSF said the tanker did not respond to its calls not to return the migrants colonists to Libya, where "they will almost certainly face detention, abuse and ill-treatment."

The group urged Italia and Malta to "assign a place of safety for the survivors before it is too late." It also called for The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
border protection agency Frontex and other EU agencies to reveal the details of the incident.

Moslem colonists Migrants regularly attempt to cross the Mediterranean from the North African nation in a desperate attempt to reach European shores. The country has emerged as the dominant transit point for migrants colonists fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East.

Human traffickers in recent years have benefited from the chaos in Libya, smuggling in migrants colonists across the oil-rich country’s lengthy borders with six nations. The migrants colonists are then typically packed into ill-equipped rubber boats and set off on risky sea voyages.

Around 300 migrants colonists died or were presumed dead along the Central Mediterranean route between Jan. 1 and March 28, according to International Organization for Migration. About 3,100 were intercepted and taken back to Libya.

Once back in Libya, the migrants colonists are typically taken to government-run detention centers rife with abuse and ill-treatment.

In 2021, at least 32,425 migrants colonists were intercepted and returned to Libya. At least 1,553 are presumed to have drowned last year, according to IOM.

UK, France issue terror alerts in Kenya as Ramadan kicks off
[Garowe] French and UK have issued terror alerts in the republic of Kenya as both Moslems and Christians kick off Ramadan and Easter seasons which are fundamental in their respective religions.

It's not the first time the two governments are issuing alerts especially during such a period. al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them...
forces of Evil often take advantage of the two important calendar events to attack unsuspecting faithful.

"In the context of upcoming religious holidays [notably Easter and Ramadan], Kenyan police services are reporting an increased terrorist risk during the month of April in Kenya," the French embassy in Kenya said.

The French embassy added that: "It is therefore recommended that all people present in the country exercise extreme vigilance and stay away from any gathering during this period."

On its part, the UK embassy in Nairobi said there are high risks of terrorism activities during the two religious holidays around the world, adding that Kenya is at high risk.

"During this period, United Kingdom nationals are advised to be extremely vigilant."

The foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office [FCDO] has been advised against all but essential travel to areas within 60km of the Kenya-Somali border, Eastern Garissa County [up to 20km north-west of the A3].

Further, they warned against travel to Mandera County [excluding Mandera West sub-county], Lamu County, excluding Lamu Island and Manda Island], areas of Tana River County north of the Tana river itself [up to 20km north-west of the A3] and within 15km of the coast from the Tana river down to the Galana [Athi-Galana-Sabaki] river.

Al-Shabaab forces of Evil have been targeting the said counties, with reports indicating that the activities of the said counties have intensified in recent weeks. In Somalia, the forces of Evil killed over 60 people a fortnight ago, raising questions about the safety of the East African region.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: April 3rd, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 20:38 Anonymous hackers leaked the personal data of 120,000 invaders fighting in Ukraine. "All soldiers participating in the invasion of Ukraine should be court-martialed," Anonymous said.

20:36 Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukrainian defenders expect heavy fighting with the occupiers in the direction of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv regions in the coming days:

"In the direction of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkov regions - a large grouping of Russian troops is gathering there. They are not going to stop. The tasks that Putin sets for his Janissaries to destroy the Ukrainian state, they do not disappear anywhere. They will regroup. They want to do it in this direction big problems for our armed forces and we also expect that there will be fierce battles for our territory in the near future."

20:11 UN Secretary General António Guterres announced the need for an independent investigation into the events in Bucha.

20:03 Scholz said that Germany will continue to provide weapons to Ukraine. He added that Western countries will discuss new sanctions against the Russian Federation in the coming days, and it will "feel their consequences."

19:56 Zelensky says that the negotiators are close to agreeing on agreements that may include a non-nuclear, non-bloc and neutral status of Ukraine.

"An important part of these agreements is security guarantees. Security guarantees should imply the existence of a circle of states that will support our country. And in the event of aggression by Russia against Ukraine, the leaders of these countries will help Ukraine in various ways after certain conditions in the security sphere are met, regarding which there must be an agreement between these guarantor countries," he said in an interview with CBS.

19:43 German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that the EU should discuss the issue of a ban on Russian gas imports.

19:38 The head of the Donetsk OVA, Pavel Kirilenko, called on all civilians to leave the region for safer regions. In an interview with the publication, the League said that there is a high probability of the situation worsening.

"And in this case, one of the important levers of manipulation and achievement of results for the enemy will be the population. Therefore, people need to leave in order to knock this lever out of the hands of the occupier. And it will be much easier for the defenders of Donbass to beat the enemy," he said.

19:31 The mobile crematoriums that the Russian troops were carrying with them were intended for Ukrainians, says Podolyak.

19:29 Kim reported that 14 people were injured as a result of today's shelling of Nikolaev. 11 of them were hospitalized, among them a child with moderate injuries, one died. He added that as a result of the shelling of Ochakov, there were also dead and wounded.

19:21 The Welt publication, citing sources, reports that Germany refused to supply Ukraine with 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, which were requested last week.

19:10 From the territory of the Kiev region liberated from Russian invaders, 410 bodies of dead civilians have already been taken out.

"In the liberated territories, there is super-important evidence of the brutal war crimes of the Russian Federation. This is a hell that must be documented in order to punish the non-humans who organized it on our land," said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

19:04 With respect to Russia, the United States will very soon take additional actions, said State Department spokesman Ned Price.

“As for the photos from Bucha, we have already assessed that Russian troops have committed war crimes. We are collecting information. Firstly, to shed light on what exactly they are doing, and secondly, to ensure that all those who committed these atrocities, and all those who ordered these atrocities. This is our mission," he said.

18:58 French President Emmanuel Macron reacted to the brutal killings of civilians by the Russian military in Bucha. According to him, the Russian authorities will have to answer for this.

"The photos that come to us from Bucha, a liberated town near Kiev, are unbearable. There are hundreds of civilians killed on the streets. My compassion for the victims, my solidarity with the Ukrainians. The Russian authorities will have to answer for these crimes."

18:54 Rape, executions, looting: Human Rights Watch documents war crimes of Russian occupiers in Ukraine.

In particular, at the moment, atrocities have been recorded in the territories of the Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Kiev regions, as well as in the city of Bucha.

“The cases we have documented represent unspeakable, deliberate brutality and violence against the civilian population of Ukraine. Rape, murder and other violent acts against people in the custody of Russian troops should be investigated as war crimes,” said Hugh Williamson. Director of Human Rights Watch in Europe and Central Asia

18:51 The United States does not yet agree to provide Ukraine with security guarantees in the form our country asks for, Zelensky said in an interview with CBS. In addition, the president said that Ukraine has not yet received security guarantees from other countries.

“I would like to thank the United States and the Biden administration for their bipartisan support, for everything they do for us. But nevertheless, the United States did not provide us with security guarantees. This must be understood,” Zelensky said.

18:48 Georgia is categorical in its decision not to join economic sanctions against Russia, head of the Georgian government Irakli Garibashvili said.

"We want peace, stability and development. This is what our country needs today. No one needs war. And to prevent war, any leader of the country - a patriot should do everything possible," Garibashvili explained.

He also does not welcome the participation of volunteers in the hostilities in Ukraine.

18:46 Zelensky reproached NATO for the delay in inviting Ukraine to the Alliance:

"Bucharest, NATO summit declaration. April 3, 14 years ago. There was a chance to prevent. So that Russia would not come. Bucha, Kyiv region. Now. Russia has come. I advise the mothers of the Russian military to look. Look what bastards you raised. Killers, marauders, executioners".

18:44 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation declares that none of the civilians were injured under their occupation.

18:42 The footage from the suburbs of Kiev is terrifying, but the situation in Mariupol blocked by the invaders is much worse, the Azov regiment says.

The chief of staff of the Azov regiment, captain Bohdan Krotevich, said that the situation in the city is critical and up to 200,000 Ukrainians are under the rubble or in bomb shelters, under constant enemy shelling.

"They have no food, water, electricity. We have no way to help them, because we are fighting fiercely in the city. What is happening now in Mariupol is the genocide of the Ukrainian population," he said.

18:39 Slovak Economy Minister Richard Sulik announced the country's readiness to pay for gas supplies in rubles, as required by the Russian Federation.

"In order not to refuse gas, we will pay in Russian currency, unless we agree on something else," Richard Sulik said.

18:22 "Some of the murdered children had their hands tied. Children. Children were tied up. Shot dogs. Murdered women. Girls under 10 with torn vaginas."

The editor-in-chief of the publication Babel Evgeny Spirin told on his Facebook page what he learned about after visiting the settlements of the Kiev region after the Russian occupation.

18:18 NATO will find ways to accept Sweden and Finland relatively quickly if they express a desire to join the North Atlantic Alliance, Stoltenberg said.

18:15 How social networks react to the crimes of the occupiers in the Kiev region:

17:11 NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with CNN said that the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kiev is not a real conclusion, but rather a change in position, which may be followed by further attacks.

According to him, the alliance is not yet convinced that Russia is conducting peace talks in Istanbul in good faith, because Moscow's military goal has not changed since the start of its invasion of Ukraine.

17:09 The pilot of the plane shot down near Izyum was detained, Gerashchenko said.

17:06 The occupiers again fired at the city of Vasilkov, which is located south of Kiev. Part of the missiles was shot down by air defense. There was a hit in the headquarters building, which had already been destroyed.

16:59 Pentagon: Military assistance from the United States to Ukraine is constantly received, in the last 24 hours, part of the $800 million package has been received.

16:53 Peskov: "The goal of the military operation in Ukraine will be achieved in full."

16:51 BBC News report from Bucha and Gostomel, where almost every house has the bodies of civilians killed by the invaders:

16:38 The network published footage of dogs and puppies killed by Russian invaders in one of the liberated settlements of the Kiev region.

16:34 The General Staff published a photo of a Russian plane shot down in the Kharkiv region today.

16:31 In one of the houses in Bucha, where the invaders set up their headquarters, they found the bodies of five executed civilians.

16:23 German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that those responsible for war crimes in Ukraine must be punished.

"Photos from Bucha are unbearable. Putin's rampant violence is destroying innocent families and knows no boundaries," Burbock tweeted.

16:16 The next three weeks will be decisive - the former commander of the US European Army, General Ben Hodges. What happens at that time will influence Putin's decision to end the war against Ukraine, Hodges said.

“It depends on what happens over the next three weeks. If we don’t help Ukraine beat the Russians now, it will drag on for months and Russia will continue to make Ukraine bleed. However, if we beat the Russians now, then we can go to negotiations on this issue are much faster," the general explained.

16:08 Kuleba: "The Buchan massacre was deliberate. The Russians are trying to destroy as many Ukrainians as possible. We must stop them and expel them. I demand new destructive sanctions from the G7 now: an embargo on oil, gas, coal; close all ports for Russian ships and goods; disconnect all Russian banks from SWIFT".

15:24 In Ukraine, as a result of hostilities, 23,000 kilometers of roads and 273 artificial structures were destroyed, Andriy Ivko, First Deputy Chairman of Ukravtodor, said.

14:58 European countries will continue to pay for Russian gas in euros, according to the concluded contracts, the Kremlin said. Earlier, Moscow delivered an ultimatum to the EU demanding payment in rubles.

14:11 Russia is preparing for a protracted war in Ukraine, spreading propaganda about the "first stage of the special operation," the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council said.

"Russian propaganda is actively spreading the theses: "the first stage of the special operation has shown results", "denazification is proceeding according to plan", "Donbass can count on security". It is already obvious that the so-called withdrawal of troops in the Kiev and Chernihiv regions is nothing more than redeployment" , the message says.

14:06 The Russian military is not being withdrawn from the Kiev and Chernihiv directions, but will be redeployed for the next "phase" in the Donbass. This opinion was expressed by US General Ben Hodges, explaining why Putin agreed to withdraw his troops from these directions.

"Russian military units have been defeated, they have lost leaders, their equipment has been smashed, they have lost a lot of equipment, thanks to the Ukrainian defenders. So now they are trying to retreat, reorganize, regroup for the next 'phase'. This is exactly what I think is happening right now. So this is not a withdrawal," Hodges said.

13:52 German Finance Minister Christian Lindner spoke out against the imposition of an embargo on Russian energy carriers as part of the EU sanctions policy for the invasion of Ukraine.

Asked by journalists why Germany continues to finance warmonger Putin's campaign in Ukraine by importing gas and oil, the minister replied: "All options are on the table. Sanctions are already unprecedented. But they should hit the Putin regime and not jeopardize Germany's stability."

The minister said that "the war in Ukraine makes us all poorer, for example, because we have to pay more for imported energy."

“Even the state cannot compensate for this loss of wealth. But we can mitigate the biggest shocks, and we are doing it. That is why we support those in need and ensure the existence of companies that are at risk. But since funding is limited, these measures can only be temporary,” - he said.

Recall that on the first day of the war, when the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany turned to the German government for help, Lindner replied that there was no point in this, "because Ukraine will fall in two days."

13:48 On Nikolaev several missile attacks are put, the Nikolaev mayor Alexander Senkevich reported.

13:46 A video of the moment of the execution of civilians in Bucha by Russian invaders has appeared on the network. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on March 25. Local residents were shot after interrogation. Apparently, photos of their bodies were published in all media the day before.

13:45 Vladislav Atroshenko, the mayor of Chernihiv, spoke on the air of UA at once about the situation in the city:

"Chernihiv is 70 percent destroyed, people have already ceased to be interested in how many mines have arrived ... Our city resembles Bucha, and in some areas it is already the same as Mariupol. People are interested in how they can survive until tomorrow. We have a concentration of Russian troops on border with Belarus, we are interested in how the air defense will work, whether bombs will continue to fall on the head."

13:41 President of the European Council Charles Michel promises support from the European Union in the prosecution of war crimes committed by the Russian army in the Kiev region

“I am shocked by the photographs that stick in my memory and testify to the atrocities committed by the Russian army in the liberated areas of the Kiev region,” Michel admitted, adding the “Bucha Massacre” note (#BuchaMassacre) to his tweet.

Prior to that, he said that the sanctions imposed on Russia do not work, as the Russian ruble is strengthening.
