Russian military commander Rustam Minnekaev now says the second phase of President Vladimir Putin’s "special operation" is focused on establishing a "land corridor" from the Donbas all the way to Moldova, which would cut off the rest of Ukraine from the sea.

Kemp attributed the surplus of more than a billion dollars to the state’s decisions during the pandemic, a strong economy and conservative budgeting by state lawmakers.
"It’s one-time money. I think it’s best when we have more than we need to send it back to the people that sent it to us, the taxpayers. That’s what we’re doing with over a billion dollars of refunds that will be in Georgians’ bank accounts in a matter of weeks. It’s what also allowed us to do the two-month moratorium on collecting gas tax at the pump," explained Kemp.
According to the governor, Georgians can expect a one-time refund in the coming weeks.

On the Novomikhailovka-Ugledar-Velikaya Novoselka line, the enemy is holding positions.

Fighting in the villages between Nikolaev and Kherson. The enemy suffers serious losses, the grouping in Nikolaev is subjected to heavy artillery and MLRS attacks. 6. Avdievka.

[Dawn] A Pakistain Army major embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with bandidosholy warriors in Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. [KhaamaPress] A kaboom that targeted worshipers in a mosque in the northern Kunduz province has killed 33 and maimed 43 more so far.
The Chief spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in a Twitter post condemned that incident and confirmed the casualties.
"An explosion in a mosque in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province martyred 33 and maimed 43 civilians among them, children. We condemn the incident, ask for the maimed speedy recovery, the martyred Janna, and deliver condolences to the families of the victims." Reads the Twitter post.
The explosion took place on Friday afternoon at a time when religious students of the nearby religious schools (madrasa) and local residents were busy praying.
The mosque belongs to Sunni Moslems.
Based on unconfirmed reports, the number of maimed has been 50.
No group has grabbed credit for the blast nor the nature of the blast disclosed.
It comes a day after a bomb explosion in a mosque in the northern Mazar-e-Sharif city killed 34 and maimed more than 80 more worshipers. IS grabbed credit for the blast in Mazar-e-sharif city.
The district security chief, Hafiz Omar, said the blast occurred at 3:30 pm after explosives placed in the Mawlawi Sekandar mosque detonated while many people were there to worship. The mosque is also used as a religious seminary.
No one has yet claimed responsibility.
Also on Friday a blast occurred near Dunya University in PD7 of Kabul.
The commander of PD7 in Kabul said the explosion was caused by a landmine, and so far there has been one reported injury.
An AFP correspondent saw large holes blown through the walls of the Sunni Mawlavi Sikandar mosque, popular with Sufis in Imam Sahib district, north of Kunduz city. One side of the mosque was completely destroyed by the explosion.
A nurse told AFP over the phone that between 30 and 40 people had been admitted for treatment of wounds from the blast. About a dozen ambulances ferried the seriously wounded to the main provincial hospital in Kunduz city. “The shrapnel injuries on the bodies of the wounded show they were caused by a bomb explosion,” a doctor at the provincial hospital told AFP.
Friday’s blast was one of the biggest attacks since the Taliban seized power on August 15 last year.

[RT] The Bank of Russia announced on Thursday it plans to have a digital ruble ready by next year and capable of making international payments. It also aims to expand the number of countries that accept Russian Mir banking cards.
"The digital ruble is among the priority projects," central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina told the lower House of Parliament. "We have fairly quickly created a prototype ... now we are holding tests with banks and next year we will gradually have pilot transactions."
The concept of a national digital currency was unveiled by the Bank of Russia in late 2020. The new form of money is expected to coexist with cash and non-cash rubles. I have to admit that when it comes to money I know just enough not to spend what we don’t have, but beyond that it’s all theoretical to me. I am profoundly grateful that Mr. Wife is good with money, and the space-time continuum, and using tools.
What seriously concerns me about the current situation is that in the end it will turn out like Churchill said about democracy (“Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”), that screwed up as the American dollar absolutely is, every other candidate for a reserve currency will turn out to be worse.

"Traditional money" ... which tradition? The pre-Nixon tradition was for a currency to be backed by specie, i.e. gold or silver. Since 1973 the US currency has been backed by "confidence" alone -- confidence in US hegemony, the USN's ability to ensure free movement of oil around the world, and America's commitment to open capital markets characterized by liquidity and rule of law.
The Biden Administration's actions have destroyed the non-Western world's confidence in all of those props for the dollar. By "freezing" -- aka stealing -- the assets of a great power, the Biden people have caused every nation to reconsider its dollar holdings. The major OPEC nations immediately began to swap some of their dollars for the Chinese currency. Israel just did the same this week. Other nations will follow.
Meanwhile, that rival country's currency is backed by substantial gold reserves. Their ratio of gold to currency in circulation is almost 10x the ratio of gold to US dollars in circulation. Their debt to GDP ratio is a tiny fraction of America's.

Pro-Paleostinian protesters allegedly assaulted a man holding an Israeli flag during an anti-Israel demonstration in New York City on Wednesday. Police were investigating the case as a possible bias incident.
The 28-year-old victim said he was walking down the street when men from the protest pointed out an Israeli flag he was holding. One of the protesters approached the victim and punched him, knocking him to the ground, then kicked him while he was down. The alleged attack took place at the corner of East 42nd street and Lexington avenue in Manhattan at around 6:15 p.m., a little over an hour after the start of the protest.
The victim was treated for swelling, bruising and redness to the face.
The suspect is a man around 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds, with short brown hair, police told The Times of Israel.
The New York Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit was notified.
The Wednesday protest began near the Israeli consulate in Manhattan. Activist groups including Within Our Lifetime, Samoudin and the Paleostinian Youth Movement organized the event. Around 100 demonstrators carried Paleostinian flags and chanted, "Globalize the intifada," "We don’t want no two states, we want all of it," "Israel, go to hell," and "From the river to the sea." They also stomped on and burned an Israeli flag.
For Israelis, intifada, literally meaning "uprising" in Arabic, conjures traumatic memories of a mass wave of terror attacks in the early 2000s. The period saw suicide kabooms and other terror attacks in Israel that killed hundreds of civilians. "From the river to the sea" is widely regarded as a call to destroy the Jewish state.
Members of the fringe anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox Neturei Karta group were in attendance. The group regularly participates in anti-Israel rallies in the area.
A small group of pro-Israeli counter-protesters led by the Yad Yamin group gathered across from the Israeli consulate under police protection. They held signs with pictures of Israelis killed in recent terror attacks, waved Israeli flags and argued with pro-Paleostinian demonstrators.
Around a dozen police separated the two groups.
The pro-Paleostinian groups hold regular rallies in New York, including a demonstration at the end of last month, and another one planned for later this month. At last month’s protest, the demonstrators marched to the offices of Jewish and Israel-linked organizations to protest outside, and distributed maps with the locations of 18 Jewish and Israeli offices to protest participants.
In December, a 21-year-old man was attacked in Brooklyn for wearing an Israel Defense Forces sweatshirt.
Jews are targeted in hate crimes more than any other group in New York City, by far, year after year. Anti-Jewish attacks accounted for 38 percent of all confirmed hate crimes in New York City last year, according to NYPD statistics. Antisemitic hate crimes are soaring this year. Last month, there were 23 antisemitic attacks, representing a 92% increase over the same period last year.
Jews are the victims of 47% of all confirmed incidents in the city since the start of the year. The antisemitic incidents include assaults on city streets against visibly identifiable Jews, racist graffiti, property damage, and verbal abuse. Most attacks take place in Brooklyn.

The sink trap disappeared years ago in one of Fred’s upgrades. It was interesting to see what was in it, but mostly of the contents were uninteresting insults or spam.
I missed the excitement today, but have no doubt the deletions were deserved. Some of our new visitors have the mistaken impression that flame wars are well reasoned discourse, or that repeating their point multiple times, only louder, will persuade our readers.

An unconfirmed number of farmers has been reportedly killed by suspected herdsmen in the Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. It was learnt that the attack took place on Thursday night in Waya, Jato-Aka, Turan.
As many as ten corpses of victims of the attack have been recovered so far while many more are still missing, a member of the community told The Nation.
Their corpses were said to have been deposited at the Jato-Aka mortuary.
The resident, Lawrence Akerigba, said many people were still missing.
Confirming the incident, the chairperson of Kwande Local Government Area, Mrs. Tartor Chianson, said eight bodies had been recovered which have been deposited at the mortuary. She noted that it was difficult to determine the exact number of casualties as the area was under siege.
She added that men of Operation Whilestroke and Civil Defence were assisting in securing the community.

The Florida Senate passed legislation on Wednesday to end Disney’s special tax privilege and self-governing status on a 23-16 vote.
On Thursday, the Florida House voted 68-38 in favor to strip Disney’s self-government.
Lefty protesters screeched like demons as politicians voted to pass the legislation.

A pickup vehicle hit a roadside kaboom in Sayid Jarrad village in Diyala province’s Khanaqin district on Friday, killing two passengers and injuiring two others, Jamhur Haji Rustam, a commander of Peshmerga forces near the area, told Rudaw’s Soran Hussein.

[NYPOST] Just like that, tyranny has descended on Florida.
The state legislature, with the support of Gov. Ron DeSantis ...Republican governor of Florida, stone in the shoe of the Dems and their ilk, maybe one-day president... , voted to repeal the "special independent district" enjoyed by Disney for half-a-century.
This is a sign, we are told, of the advent of an American authoritarianism that brooks no dissent — Disney criticizes a measure supported by the Florida GOP, the so-called "Don’t Say Gay" bill, and immediately gets targeted.
There’s a reason this fight escalated to this point, though. Disney was the aggressor in the battle over the education bill, lied about it and pledged to work to repeal it.
Even though the bill had nothing to do with Disney whatsoever — nothing to do with its product, its business model or its employees. The company got pushed into its stance based on pressure from a woke segment of its employees and from progressives on the outside.
Disney’s case against the bill relied on the smear that the legislation somehow threatened gay or trans people. In fact, the law merely seeks to exclude inappropriate material from being taught to young children in the classroom — an objective that once would have been considered utterly banal.
"Classroom instruction," the law says, "by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."
Based on that, Disney went to the mattresses. And it did so, not to serve its shareholders, enhance its profitability, protect its intellectual property or align itself with its vast and politically diverse customer base.
This was, shockingly, an iconic American brand making itself into a free-floating weapon of woke cultural politics in response to the social and political influence of a small number of vocal progressives.
Like so many companies before, Disney calculated the risk/reward of gratuitously taking up a left-wing political and cultural fight and considered it all reward, no risk. The Florida legislature decided to convince it that it was wrong.
Republicans have fantasized about exacting Dire Revenge on woke corporations before, but to no effect. Disney’s problem is that it had a glaring vulnerability in the form of an arrangement that can easily be portrayed as a special favor.
The provisions allowing Disney to govern itself in its special independent district are so extensive that one analyst refers to the so-called Reedy Creek Improvement District as "the Vatican with mouse ears."
"Never before or since has such outlandish dominion been given to a private corporation," the Florida writer Carl Hiaasen notes in his book "Team Rodent." "Disney owns its own utilities. It administers its own planning and zoning. It composes its own building codes and employs its own inspectors. It maintains its own fire department. It even has the authority to levy taxes."
For good measure, it can build its own airport and nuclear power plant.
Now, that’s all scheduled to go away in a year’s time. Obviously, it is not a good practice for government to retaliate against a business, even a business enjoying a special status.
This fight could have welcome effects, though, if it convinces Disney it made a mistake by allowing itself to get bullied and cajoled into becoming a combatant in the culture war, and convinces other corporations that there’s a potential price to be paid for joining woke mobs.
Republicans don’t want corporations to become tools in advancing their agenda; they just want them to exit the culture wars and focus, once again, on their business, an outcome that would lower the temperature in the country’s cultural fights at least a little.
Ideally, Disney and the Florida legislature work out a renewal of the company’s special district before it is set to expire, and that the house of mouse — and other corporations seduced into making themselves de facto left-wing pressure groups — resolves to stick to its core competency and mission.

[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish interior minister claimed on Friday that recent bombings in Istanbul and Bursa provinces were carried out by two far-leftists groups linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
An explosion in Bursa on Wednesday killed a prison guard and injured a number of theirs. The incident took place as a bus was transporting prison guards. The next day, a kaboom targeted a Ottoman Turkish youth association in Istanbul but did not cause any casualties, according to Hurriyet Daily News.
"We identified the perpetrators of the incidents in Bursa and Istanbul. They are affiliated with two organizations subcontracting to the PKK," Suleyman Soylu told NTV on Friday, adding that the Bursa explosion was carried out by the Marxist—Leninist Communist Party (MLKP), an underground party which is active in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... and northeast Syria (Rojava), while the Istanbul one was done by the Revolutionary Communard Party (DKP).
PKK has not confirmed the alleged link with both groups.
Soylu’s comment comes as Ankara is carrying out a military campaign against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region which began on Monday. The PKK has warned that if attacks continue they will move the fight to Ottoman Turkish cities like Istanbul.
"The war will ... spread to Turkey," Duran Kalkan, a top PKK commander, said one day before the operation. "Consequently, we will witness a much more effective kind of war in the cities of Turkey."
The PKK has stated that it only targets security forces and officials.

It is not known whether there were fatalities, but nine persons were said to have been rushed to a hospital.

The hideouts of bandidos around Kambari village in the Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State have been bombed and many enclaves destroyed by the Nigerian Air Force.
Daily Trust reports that many bandidos were killed in the operation, which started three days ago.
According to the report, ground forces involved in the operation reportedly captured many bandidos and their informants around Gassol and Karim Lamido axis on both sides of River Benue.
Three persons were said to have also been killed around Kwatan Nanido in Gassol Local Government Area.
The bandidos have been in Kambari axis for the past two months, and responsible for most of kidnapping and killings in many villages across Bali, Gassol and Karim Lamido local government areas of Taraba, sources revealed.
However, some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... spokesperson of the Taraba Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the development, but said it was purely an Air force operation.
"We are aware of the operation but it is purely a Nigerian Air force operation and we cannot comment on that," he said.

Climate friendly vehicles could/should be some kind of bio-diesel as you can get the required fuel nearly anywhere. Mix that with a hybrid electric if you can do so properly to extend the range.
Modify shipping containers to have dozens of Tesla walls (or similar) inside and lots of power plugs so you can charge off a supercarriers power all day and helicopter it in to a forward base at night to charge up the vehicles before heading out again in the morning. They even have mini-nuke plants that could power up vehicles in super-safe areas.
Combine all that with sniffer tech on drones that could pick up regular diesel exhaust and you could pinpoint enemies within a certain range which might be useful.
Just spitballing. I know it's a corrupt boondoggle to pay off the usual suspects but some good could come out of it.

She's an outstanding exemplar of the Peter Principle, proudly displaying her level of competence in her handling of the Biden Border Surge south of the border and the situation never improved. Activists accused border patrol agents of whipping refugees with horsewhips. The White House condemned the act. But an investigation recently revealed no immigrants colonists were whipped. White House staff have declined to apologize for believing the allegation.
Many border patrol agents are Hispanic. The criticisms of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the border patrol by the left are criticisms of Hispanic voters and their families -- a constituency the Democrats are losing. But the White House seems openly hostile to both.
Now, having seen what monsoon of migrants colonists the summer brought last year, the Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra) ...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us... is preparing for the expiration of Title 42. The pandemic is receding. Title 42 can be deployed as a health care power so long as the pandemic is at the forefront. It allows the surgeon general to keep people from entering the United States due to a health care crisis. With a receding pandemic, Title 42 has to go away. It's only a matter of time before some enterprising Trump judge scraps it to exacerbate the political problems for Biden.
Here's the thing: How are we in April of 2022 in a midterm election and the White House clearly has no plan to deal with the surge of illegal immigrants colonists and expiration of Title 42? Their own polling shows this issue is pushing Hispanic voters to the GOP and they've got nothing. They have had plenty of time to prepare and did nothing to prepare.
How are they this inept?
The Biden administration was caught flat-footed on Ukraine too. They knew the Russians would invade. They chose to provide Ukraine help but have constantly scaled back their original offers. The administration has slow-walked intelligence to Ukraine, putting the Republicans in a more pro-Ukraine position than Biden. Biden has accused Russia of genocide and then taken no actions equal to the accusation. Just last week, the United States promised helicopters on a Thursday and walked back the promise that same Friday.
How are they this inept?
Then there is the mask issue. They could have let it expire a few weeks ago and taken the credit. Instead, a federal judge in Florida threw it out. Then Joe Biden himself said people should have the choice whether they want to wear a mask or not. Less than six hours later, his administration decided to appeal to get the mask mandate reinstated. But they are not going to ask for its immediate reinstatement. Instead, they're going to ask for the authority to be able to reimpose it in the future.
So, in other words, Biden could have canceled the mask mandate a few weeks ago, rendered the court case moot, preserved the power to reimpose it and taken credit for its end. But Biden and Klain did not. Instead, they will now ask a court to preserve power for the organization that insists you not eat raw cookie dough and cook your steak to an internal temperature of 145 F.
How are they this inept?
Between the border, Ukraine and the masks, they really have no plans for governing. They have just decided to perpetuate the status quo of their own making in the hope that something shakes out. They are careening from crisis to crisis, two clowns in bumper cars colliding with crises of their own creation.
The best they have going now are their pundit partisans lamenting that really Biden is a victim of circumstance unable to control anything. And that is not much of a defense.
Some might say this is all part of some elaborate plan, but the Republicans are about to wipe them out. That is most assuredly not part of the plan. How are they this inept?

[DW] The French military says it has filmed Russian mercenaries burying bodies near an army base in northern Mali. La Belle France says it suspects the operation was part of a disinformation campaign against its troops.
La Belle France's military has released footage that appears to show soldiers burying bodies in northern Mali, which it says is part of a smear campaign by Russia's mercenary Wagner Group.
The French say the move to discredit their forces is part of a coordinated campaign of multiple information attacks over recent months.
WHAT IS LA BELLE FRANCE SAYING?
The French army says it filmed the video near the Gossi base in northern Mali, which it has now handed over to Malian troops.
It says the aim appears to be to falsely accuse La Belle France's departing forces of leaving behind mass graves. The video, filmed by a "sensor" drone and seen by both the AFP and News Agency that Dare Not be Named news agencies, shows what appear to be Caucasian soldiers covering bodies with sand. It was filmed some 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the base immediately after the handover.
Several tweets posted on accounts that support Russia, or fake accounts allegedly created by Wagner, blame the French for the killings.
La Belle France says the drone images allow them to "draw a direct line" between Wagner's activities and the actions attributed to its soldiers.
"This maneuver to discredit the Barkhane force seems coordinated. It is representative of multiple information attacks French soldiers have faced for several months," it said.
WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING IN MALI?
Relations between Gay Paree and Bamako have deteriorated sharply since a military junta seized power in 2020.
Deepening ties between the Malian regime and Moscow have hastened the end of Barkhane, La Belle France's decade-long military operation in the West African country.
La Belle France and the United States say Wagner mercenaries have deployed in Mali. However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... the military-dominated government in Mali denies the accusations and says the Russians in the country are military instructors.

On Wednesday, the United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... said it was "extremely concerned" that Mali had stopped Sherlocks from visiting the scene of an alleged atrocity in late March. It is believed that at least 300 men were summarily executed during a March 27-31 raid on Moura. The group Human Rights Watch this month accused unnamed Russian mercenaries of involvement in the killings.
Germany has warned that its forces will not cooperate with Mali's military while it maintains links to Russia. The EU has decided to halt its military training mission there citing insufficient guarantees from Mali over Wagner.
[TOWNHALL] State politicians in Rhode Island are pushing legislation that would require every person in the state 16 years of age and older to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and punish those who refuse to do so.
Local outlet NBC 10 reported Tuesday that two state Senators have removed their names from the bill, Bill S.2552.
NBC 10 noted that those who violate the proposed mandate would "face a civil penalty of $50 and shall owe twice the amount of personal income taxes."
Employers would be responsible to enforce the mandate and require vaccine proof from employees or face a $5,000 fine for each worker who is unvaccinated.
"Some of the senators who introduced the bill on March 1 did not want to talk about it anymore," NBC 10 wrote.
State Sen. Sam Bell, a Democrat, said on Twitter that Rhode Island residents "strongly support a universal vaccine mandate" and that "it’s time for us to pass my mandate bill."

A new American success story, under Biden she became spokeswoman for the whole administration, and she was even able to get her sister a job... used her position and platform to attack Fox News, I reported that she might have been acting illegally. Why? Because she’s a government official, and it’s thus at the very least unethical, if not illegal for her to boost a company she has a relationship with (she’s rumored to be heading to MSNBC when she leaves the White House).
For reference, she said, when asked if Peter Doocy is a stupid SOB, "He works for a network that provides people with questions that, nothing personal to any individual including Peter Doocy, but might make anyone sound like a stupid son of a bitch."
That attack on Fox, an attack that might have discredited it and thus boosted other stations like MSNBC in the eyes of some, particularly those who would be listening to Peppermint Patty on Pod Save America, was almost certainly unethical.
As a result, an anti-corruption organization called Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) is demanding that she be investigated for what she said so it can be determined if she broke the law or behaved unethically by making the comments she did about Fox, a competitor to her future employer. Describing that demand in a blurb/complaint, PPT said:
Today, federal ethics watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust requested an investigation into possible ethics violations by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Ms. Psaki’s statements and actions in the wake of widespread media reporting that she has been in negotiations to leave federal service for a role with a major media outlet appear inconsistent with her own promise to set "an example of engagement and transparency."
Despite the reporting and recusal requirements federal employees must comply with while in negotiations for outside employment as well as her own statements regarding those obligations, Ms. Psaki does not appear to have altered her behavior with respect to either her prospective employer or its competitors. She has continued to brief news hounds from the White House podium, including fielding inquiries from the organizations reportedly in a bidding war for her services.
In addition, her comments on an April 14, 2022, recording of Pod Save America disparaging Fox News, a competitor of her reported prospective employer, could constitute a misuse of her official position. During the podcast, Ms. Psaki was introduced by her title of White House Press Secretary and answered questions relating to President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant.
