[Circa.com] While secretary of state, Hillary Clinton made a personal call to pressure Bangladesh’s prime minister to aid a donor to her husband’s charitable foundation despite federal ethics laws that require government officials to recuse themselves from matters that could impact their spouse’s business.
The Office of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina confirmed to Circa that Mrs. Clinton called her office in March 2011 to demand that Dr. Muhammed Yunus, a 2006 Nobel Peace prize winner, be restored to his role as chairman of the country’s most famous microcredit bank, Grameen Bank. The bank’s nonprofit Grameen America, which Yunus chairs, has given between $100,000 and $250,000 to the Clinton Global Initiative. Grameen Research, which is chaired by Yunus, has donated between $25,000 and $50,000, according to the Clinton Foundation website.
"Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton telephoned Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in March 2011 insisting her not to remove Dr. Muhammad Yunus from the post of Managing Director of Grameen Bank," Deputy Press Secretary Md Nazrul Islam told Circa in an email.
Islam said the prime minister informed Mrs. Clinton that according to Grameen Bank rules and regulations, nobody can hold the position of the Managing Director of Grameen Bank after the age of 60. He was 70 at the time of his removal and had wrangled for months to no avail with the prime minister over his removal. More interesting than the (unsurprising) content is that it came out. Hoping it has legs....

[Ynet] Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh announced Thursday that the individual responsible for the March assassination of Hamas operative Mazan Fukha outside his home in Tel al-Hawa has been arrested, adding that he acted on behalf of the Israeli security forces.
Joined by Fukha’s widowed wife and newly elected leader of the Hamas in Gaza Yahya Sanwar at a press conference, Haniyeh said that the suspect had confessed to the hit. Also confessed to infecting Arafat with HIV, assassinating Julius Caesar, and molesting cockroaches.

The Trump administration ought to just keep trickling out one thing after another about the corruption of the previous administration and the Clinton administration. Maybe the MSM would report it--maybe not. The left has a stranglehold on the press. The MSM has abdicated its 1st Amendment role in our country.
......the probably Taliban-trained Afghan-American whose various bombs in New York and New Jersey caused havoc last September. His name also appears in our archives as Ahmad Khan Rahmani and Ahmad Khan Rahami...
the terrorist responsible for the New York City bombing in September of 2016, wants a reduced prison sentence for the pain and suffering he has faced.
The bomber’s attorney asked prosecutors to consider his "mental and physical health" as part of a plea agreement, arguing that his pain should be considered equally to the victims he injured and tried to kill.
Federal court documents show that the lawyers defending the terrorist argue that because police shot him 11 times, he has experienced "brain injuries, limited longevity, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder." Maybe he is beyond the ability to live a rewarding life and should be, out of compassion, put down?

[Grabien News] News just broke that President Trump is dismissing the director of the FBI, James Comey.
Comey will inevitably be remembered for the controversial role he played in the 2016 presidential election, where his agency conducted surveillance of the Trump campaign as well as investigated the Clinton camp for mishandling classified materials, giving both sides arguments for how the FBI ultimately swayed the vote.
But even before the 2016 campaign, the FBI endured a number of humiliations under Comey's tenure. Most damning were revelations that the FBI was generally aware of almost every terrorist who successfully struck America over the last eight years.
Here are 10 of Comey's biggest embarrassments at the FBI:
1. Before he bombed the Boston Marathon, the FBI interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev but let him go. Russia sent the Obama Administration a second warning, but the FBI opted against investigating him again.
2. Shortly after the NSA scandal exploded in 2013, the FBI was exposed conducting its own data mining on innocent Americans; the agency, Bloomberg reported, retains that material for decades (even if no wrongdoing is found).
3. The FBI had possession of emails sent by Nidal Hasan saying he wanted to kill his fellow soldiers to protect the Taliban -- but didn't intervene, leading many critics to argue the tragedy that resulted in the death of 31 Americans at Fort Hood could have been prevented.

Michele R. McPhee, Maximum Harm, The Tsarnaev Brothers, The FBI, And The Road to The Marathon Bombing, pg 143.
The office of the Inspector General for the Intelligence Community examined those issues and the questions of whether Tamerlan was an asset (and if he wan't, why not) in its report on information sharing among the intelligence community:
1. Why did the CT (Counterterrorism Unit of the FBI) agent not visit Tamerlan's mosque [in Cambridge]?
2. Why did the CT agent not interview the woman Tamerlan was accused of assaulting?
3. Why did the CT agent not interview Tamerlan's wife, Katherine Russell aka Krina [sic] Tsarnaeva?
4. Why was Tamerlan not asked about if he sympathized with Chechen rebels?
#3
McPhee's theory is that the Tamerlan Tsarnaev was very likely a recruited FBI asset. Her book, which is a fascinating read BTW, makes a very compelling case. She has certainly 'run the traps.'

Only 10? Why does it seem like so many more? Maybe it's all this drama queen's face time on TV and before Congress. Comey and Loretta Lynch and the DOJ and the FBI by trying to cover up all the scandals and protecting the arses of the Clintons and Obama. He would have better-served the country just by following the Constitution and the law rather than dancing on the head of a pin.
"50 bucks says that Comey will show up to work today because he couldn't discern intent from that letter."

Scandal #11 - the "The Innocence of Muslims" Nakoula debacle. Similar to the Tsarnaev deal - Nakoula was directly tied to a Islamic Terror financier when he was arrested for money laundering/fraud prior to the film being made - likely recruited by the FBI, if not, why not...and the film contributed to the whole unrest mess that that Hillary blamed for causing Benghazi...

Even though Comey was dismissed, the sun came up this morning. No massive walk-outs at FBI Main or any of the field offices. My mail arrived at about the same time. Gasoline prices appear to be unchanged. Mother's Day has not been cancelled. None of my neighbors have been... caught away into the clouds. The Russians are still the Russians.
[BBC] A woman who deliberately ploughed into a cyclist after being confronted about using her mobile phone behind the wheel has been jailed for three years.
Justine Henshaw-Bryan chased Damien Doughty through Stoke Newington, north London, sending him flying into a tree. Henshaw-Bryan, who is due to give birth in November, said her then boyfriend told her to follow the cyclist, but the judge rejected her claim.
Mr Doughty, 38, was badly hurt, spending three days in intensive care. Sentencing 25-year-old Henshaw-Bryan at Wood Green Crown Court, Judge Gregory Perrins said her actions could have killed Mr Doughty.
"This was a calculated attempt to run him over and use your car as a weapon," the judge said.
"It would have been obvious that to do so would have carried significant risk of injury."
The court heard how the pair nearly collided on Stoke Newington High Street on 10 February 2016, when Henshaw-Bryan pulled out in front of the cycle courier while using her mobile.

The female of the species - especially behind a wheel.
And yet it's males 16-25 years of age who pay the most for driving insurance, because of the significantly higher probability that they will be in an accident, g(r)omgoru. It takes a while to get used to testosterone. ;-)
As for Ms Henshaw-Bryan: after she serves her sentence, take away her right to drive until she is forty, assuming she has a acquired common sense by then.

Actually, women have more accidents. But they are usually at lower speed than men and cause less damage. Hence lower insurance premiums.
Men drive too fast, and women don't pay enough attention, as in this case.

(CNN) Michael Huggins' grandfather never learned how to read or write. He was born in Mississippi when Jim Crow laws still legalized racial segregation, but eventually left in the 1950s by riding in the trunk of a car that was leaving the state. Two generations later, his grandson is graduating from Harvard.
"If he hadn't made his decision to leave and find a better life for his family, I wouldn't be here," Huggins said. "Graduating from Harvard, it's spiritual for me. And I know so many people who have stories like that."
Huggins, who will graduate with a master's degree from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, hopes that such stories will be shared and celebrated at Harvard University's first commencement ceremony specifically honoring black graduates.
The event, to be held two days prior to Harvard's traditional commencement, aims to honor the achievements of black students at Harvard and to share their experiences with the larger community.
More than 300 students and 500 guests have registered to attend the May 23 event. The event will be an optional, additional ceremony.
The ceremony, Huggins said, is not meant to be divisive, but rather an affirmation of identity and community.

The goal is not a separate commencement ceremony. The goal is a completely separate institution and government. Embedded tribalism cannot simply be whisked away with the magic broom of multiculturalism.

I've been through all this $hit before, with the separate graduations and proms and what not and I'm sick of it.
If you (anyone) doesn't want to be part of the society than move out. All of those entertainers and athletes can pony up a few mill each and get you started elsewhere.
Back in '67 when I graduated HS was right in the middle of the mess. There was major rioting 10 miles away etc. etc. You were in the right then, you won as you should have, now deal with it.

[American Thinker] When George Will and other leading intellectuals started to rip holes in their warm comfort couches in despair at Donald Trump's long series of victories, culminating in his election to the presidency, a lot of us were scratching our heads. What was it about winning that drove George Will, Jonah Goldberg, and Bill Kristol to despair?
It made no sense. I blame new money.
Their Conservative Cringe makes even less sense today, when Trump is carrying out a series of actions that we have long clamored for.

He's not a 'White's Man', he's really not one of us.
White’s
White’s is one of the oldest and most exclusive clubs in London, established in 1693. This members-only haven of serenity is situated in a grand Portland stone Grade I-listed building on St. James’ Street, secreted away in Piccadilly. The club remains of the male-only persuasion. A plethora of royals are presently members including heir to the throne, Prince Charles. Complete with gaming rooms, a majestic bar, and a menu replete with British game, White’s is an enclave of tradition nestled in the bosom of modern London.

[Wash Times] Sen. John McCain on Wednesday handed Republican leadership and President Trump a stinging legislative defeat as he cast a surprise deciding vote to maintain an Obama-era regulation limiting methane emissions from oil and gas wells.
It was the first time the White House and congressional Republicans failed to rewrite or overturn environmental regulations put into place by the previous administration. That regulatory rollback, until Wednesday, united the party.
The Bureau of Land Management rule, put into place in November, has been in Republican crosshairs for months. The House has voted to eliminate the rule through the Congressional Review Act, a law that lets Congress unwind some recent regulations.
The Senate was expected to follow suit and deliver a win not just for Republican leadership and the administration, but also for their allies in the oil and gas industry. Instead, Mr. McCain and two fellow Republicans -- Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Susan M. Collins of Maine -- joined all 48 Democrats in voting against the measure, leading to its defeat in a 51-49 vote.

Can't the Republicans expel McCain and Graham from the party? If they walk like ducks and quack like ducks they should go ahead and switch their party affiliation to the donks.

We all knew last night when the word came down that Democrats (or Democratic-leaning independents like King) would instantly start rehabbing Comey’s image on their side to make him a more effective martyr for Trump, but good lord. A week ago the reigning Democratic nominee was on camera accusing Comey of having cost her the election. Now he’s a "man of integrity." At this rate, we’re headed for a Trump/Comey election in 2020. What color ribbon will Democrats be wearing on their lapels next week to make the tragic end of James Comey’s career?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS murderous Moslems in Egypt’s restive northern part of the Sinai Peninsula ambushed local rustics who were securing an area in the region, killing 10, security officials said.
The men were from the Tarabin tribe and were manning a checkpoint near a krazed killer-stronghold south of the border town of Rafah when the murderous Moslems approached them in a vehicle and opened fire, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... because they were not authorized to talk to news hounds.
Local residents who witnessed the attack told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the murderous Moslems were using a security vehicle they had apparently captured in fighting from security forces. The eyewitnesses also spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing retribution.
No krazed killer group immediately grabbed credit for the attack.
Sinai’s powerful tribes have stayed on the sidelines of the battle between Egyptian authorities and a growing insurgency led by the ISIS krazed killer group that has been raging in North Sinai in recent years.
However, man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them... an open conflict between the rustics and the murderous Moslems emerged in recent weeks.
In late April, an ISIS jacket wallah killed four rustics standing watch in Rafah. The tribes retaliated by killing eight suspected ISIS fighters in a battle in the town earlier this month.
Moussa al-Delh, a powerful member of the Tarabin tribe announced earlier this month in a statement on his Facebook page that the tribe is in war with murderous Moslems under the leadership of the state, inviting other Sinai tribes to join the fight.

[217.218.67.231] Tunisia’s President Beji Caid Essebsi has ordered the country’s army to do what is necessary to protect businesses amid widening protests against poverty and unemployment.
Essebsi said during a speech in Tunis on Wednesday that the "grave but necessary decision" of asking the army to intervene in protests was made at a top-level government security meeting.
He said "the state must protect the people's resources" as protesters in Tunisia's impoverished inland provinces become increasingly vocal in their demands for jobs and better living conditions. Demonstrations and sit-ins staged in recent weeks have led to a halt in production at Tunisia’s oil and phosphate facilities as protesters continue to block roads in those areas.
Essebsi said continued protests had cost the government five billion dinars (about two billion dollars), especially due to the stoppages of phosphate mining, adding that the situation had worsened the country’s debt.

[DAWN] The Pakistain Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched an awareness campaign through SMS service against the uploading of blasphemous content on social media.
Through the campaign, social media users are being provided information about the issue and those users who react to such content in ignorance are being motivated not to do so.
After reports that websites containing blasphemous material are being operated in the country, the Islamabad High Court has taken up the issue.
Besides, the National Assembly’s standing committee on information technology and telecommunication, headed by retd Capt Mohammad Safdar, is also pushing the PTA to take steps to address the issue.
The message being sent by the authority to people says, "Uploading and sharing of any blasphemous content on Internet is a punishable offence under the law. Instead of taking law in hand, such content should be reported to PTA on info@pta.gov.pk for legal action."
Director (legal) of the Ministry of Information Technology, Nasir Ayaz, assured the parliamentary committee on Tuesday that steps would be taken to stop the uploading of blasphemous content on social media.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Trump administration is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information about the whereabouts of the military leader of Syria’s al-Qaeda affiliated Nusra Front.
The State Department says the reward will be paid for information "leading to the identification or location" of Abu Mohammed al-Golani. The offer is the first under the department’s "Rewards for Justice Program" for a Nusra Front leader.
In a statement, the department said that the group under Golani’s leadership had committed numerous attacks in Syria, including many against civilians, since 2013.
Golani, a Syrian national believed to be in his 40s, has been identified by the US as a "specially designated global terrorist" since 2013 and subject to US and international sanctions, including an asset freeze and travel ban.
The Nusra Front is designated a "foreign terrorist organization" by the US. In 2016, it changed its name to the Fatah al-Sham Front and formally cut ties with al-Qaeda last year, but is still widely seen as being linked to the global terror network.

[EADT.CO.UK] A mother-of-three says she is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a herd of cows when walking her dog in fields near Great Yeldham in Essex.
Carol Green, 52, of Goodchild Way, has warned others to avoid the animals, especially if they are with young calves.
Ms Green was walking through farmland close to the village when the ’horrifying’ attack happened.
She said the herd suddenly came at her, knocking her to the floor and headbutting her.
"It was absolutely horrifying," she said. "It was a living nightmare."
"I tried to keep calm and walk a little faster but they had blocked the stile.?"They were just closing in. The large one seemed to be leading the others.
"Then it headbutted me, it had its head like a bull would have it.
"It knocked me off my feet and then started kicking me about with its hooves and its head."
Ms Green, who says she has been suffering nightmares and flashbacks since the attack, managed to escape by climbing over a gate and making her way to a nearby fishing pond.
"There was a chap there who heard the screams but didn’t pay much attention because he thought it was youths messing about.
"He put me in the car and took me home, called the police and rang the paramedics.
"I was then taken by ambulance to Broomfield Hospital. I suffered bad bruising mainly. I had to get the back of my ear glued because there was a nasty cut behind my ear."

[217.218.67.231] US-backed bad boys, known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), have fully captured the city of Tabqa and a nearby dam from the ISISTakfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... terrorist group.
The SDF, an alliance of Arab and Kurdish fighters, on Wednesday recaptured the city, which sits on the Euphrates River and on a strategic supply route about 55 kilometers west of Raqqah, ISIS’s stronghold in Syria.
SDF front man, Talal Sello, told AFP that the forces had "achieved victory and completely liberated the city and the dam."
Rami Abdel Rahman of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also confirmed the development.
Both the dam and the city are under the control of the joint force, according to the monitoring group.
The SDF had been fighting ISIS in Tabqa, as part of the "Wrath of the Euphrates" operation, which was launched in November 2016.

[217.218.67.231] The UN has warned that a Saudi attack on Yemen’s Houthi-controlled port city of Hudaydah could displace half a million civilians.
"Between 100,000 and half a million people could be displaced as the conflict and humanitarian situation continue to worsen," said Shabia Mantoo, the spokesperson for the UN refugee agency, on Wednesday.
Located in the southern Yemeni province of Tai'zz, Hudaydah is part of a broad battlefront where Saudi forces are fighting the Yemeni army and its Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... allies, which are in control of most of Yemen’s northern and western regions. The British travel company has scrapped all flight and hotel packages for the winter season onwards, with alternative trips or refunds offered for some 200 pre-booked customers. The pictures were released by the provincial government earlier today which shows the massive losses incurred to the ISIS gunnies in Asad Khel area of Achin district.
A destroyed car, bodies of ISIS gunnies dispersed and still lying across the area, damaged tunnels, and presence of the Afghan cops are shown in the latest photographs released by the government.
The bomb was dropped around 7:30 pm local time on Thursday, the 13th of April, a move which was widely welcomed by the local residents and tribal elders of Nangarhar.
The commander of the US forces based in Afghanistan Gen. John Nicholson appeared in a presser after the Arclight airstrike was conducted, saying the use of the GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb or Mother of All Bombs in Achin district sent a clear message to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Gen. Nicholson made the remarks as he was speaking to reports together with the US Secretary of Defense James Mattis in Kabul on Monday.
"The strike in Achin was to send a very clear message to ISIS. If they come to Afghanistan they will be destroyed," he said.
Gen. Nicholson further added "We are going to keep going until ISIS-K is defeated in 2017. There is no space for ISIS-K in Afghanistan."
A number of the tribal elders also appeared in a gathering after the Arclight airstrike was conducted and urged for further strikes to clear the province from the presence of ISIS murderous Moslems.
Nearly 100 ISIS gunnies including several of their key leaders were killed in the Arclight airstrike and the main tunnels network and other hideouts were totally eliminated.

Reports said Pakistain opened firing with automatic weapons followed by shelling at Sher Makri and Numb Kaladi areas of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district around 11 pm.
The Indian side retaliated, leading to heavy exchanges, they said, adding there were reports that Pakistain army could try to facilitate infiltration attempts by the turbans under the cover of firing.
However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... there were no reports of any casualties or damage on the Indian side in the firing and shelling. Casualties, if any, on the other side were not known.

[217.218.67.231] North Korea has warned that the deployment of a US-made missile system in South Korea will turn the Korean Peninsula into a nuclear battlefield.
The Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) "is a source of a nuclear disaster being brought to our race at the moment," said a report in North’s state-run Korean Central TV on Wednesday.
The installation of THAAD began last month amid rising tensions over North Korea’s ballistic and nuclear tests. China and Russia have also criticized the deployment of THAAD, saying it would significantly affect the balance of power in the region and would lead to more instability. Washington and Seoul had agreed on the installation in the summer of 2016.
The US missile system is equipped with a powerful detection system known as an X-band radar, which experts say would destabilize regional security and upset the region’s current military balance.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him... on Wednesday called on the United States to immediately reverse a decision on arming Syrian Kurdish fighters considered by Ankara to be a terror group.
"I hope very much that this mistake will be reversed immediately," Erdogan said after Washington announced it would arm the Kurdish Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG) in the fight against forces of Evil in Syria. Erdogan vowed to bring up "our worries" on the issue in talks with US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... on May 16 in Washington.
After Trump approved the arms supply to support a campaign to retake the Syrian city of Raqqa, Erdogan told a news conference he wanted to believe that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... ’s allies would side with Ankara and not with terrorist organizations.
Turkey views the Kurdish YPG militia as the Syrian extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has fought an insurgency in southeast Turkey since 1984 and is considered a terrorist group by the United States, Turkey and Europe.
The YPG has been seen by Washington as the best ally against forces of Evil in Syria.
"The supply of arms to the YPG is unacceptable," Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli told A Haber television on Wednesday. "Such a policy will benefit nobody".
"We expect that this mistake is to be rectified," he said, days ahead of a crunch meeting in Washington between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US counterpart Donald Trump.

[Libya Herald] At least one person was killed and a number of others injured today in central Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... when two rival local militias battled it out for control of the area.
The two ‐ the Nawasi brigade, which controls much the corniche from the Libyana headquarters near Busetta to Suq al-Thalath on the west side of the city and which is trying to expand its zone, and the Ghazewy brigade, based in the Old City, have been rivals for some time. One area of contention has been their relationships with black market currency dealers. Some are protected by Nawasi, others by Ghazewy.
The situation spiralled out of control today when a woman queueing at a bank off Martyrs’ Square was reported rubbed out by one of the militias. It has not been disclosed which militia or which bank, although there are reports of attempts to arrest a member of the Ghazewy.
There were festivities near Busetta and near the Corinthia Hotel, and both militias called on their supporters to be ready for a major confrontation. Somehow, however, the situation calmed down during the afternoon, without any obvious reason.
Meanwhile, ...back at the barn, Bossy had come up with a new idea, one that didn't involve kerosene... both Dreibi district and the Airport Road saw tanks and other heavy weapons appear on the streets but residents say they heard no shooting.

[SHABELLENEWS] On the eve of the Third London Conference on Somalia, President Uhuru Kenyatta insists that it would be catastrophic for the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Mission in Somalia to exit before realising the extermination of the Al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... terror group.
As the United States, a funder, sets its sights on a full hand-over of security functions to Somalia’s own forces, President Kenyatta is adamant that AMISOM ‐ whose drawdown was projected to commence next year ‐ must be adequately facilitated to complete its mission.
"We can hurry to leave but what happens when an inadequately prepared Somali force is left to its own devices? A vacuum is left and the root of the problem will re-emerge."
He maintained that it is in the best interest of Kenya to take the fight, as it were, to the enemy and not risk compromising regional stability.
"It is not a Somali problem. It is in essence our problem."
His position is shared by the AMISOM Force Commander Lieutenant General Osman Noor Soubagleh who at the conclusion of the African Chiefs of Defence Conference said, "the draw-down will be depend with (sic) some conditions."
"We need to first help to degrade and contain Al-Shabaab, to bring levels of violence to levels that are acceptable that can allow for the government as such to be present and exercise its functions all throughout the country."

Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it... has expressed his willingness to enter into talks with the Saudi regime, which has been engaged in a massive bombing campaign against his nation since 2015.
"We have no choice but dialogue," AFP quoted Saleh as saying on Tuesday during a meeting of his General People's Congress Party in the capital Sana’a.
"We are ready to go to Riyadh, Khamis Mushait, Muscat or elsewhere to start dialogue and to reach an understanding," Saleh added, referring to cities in Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government had a $182 billion budget surplus in April, confounding market expectations for a deficit, according to Treasury Department data released on Wednesday.
The budget surplus was $106 billion in April 2016, according to Treasury's monthly budget statement.
The fiscal 2017 year-to-date deficit was $344 billion compared with $353 billion in the same period of fiscal 2016.
When accounting for calendar adjustments, the surplus last month was $145 billion compared with an adjusted surplus of $146 billion the prior year. The adjusted deficit for the fiscal year to date was $373 billion compared with $314 billion the prior fiscal year period.
Receipts last month totaled $456 billion, up 4 percent from April 2016, while outlays stood at $273 billion, a decrease of 18 percent from the same month a year earlier.
#5
the April surplus is a result of the April filing deadline
because more people are asking for extensions each year, the anticipated surplus was about $100B but apparently, a lot of people paid estimated taxes with their extension.

*sigh* What message is Morocco sending this time by letting them through?
[AlAhram] Around 300 sub-Saharan African migrants colonists stormed the six-metre razor-wire fence between Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Melilla early on Tuesday, with around 100 successfully crossing the border, police said.
Three copperswere maimed and required medical attention after the 0500 GMT rush, after migrants colonists threw stones at border security, Spanish police added.
Spain's two enclaves in Morocco, Ceuta and Melilla, are often used as entry points into Europe by African migrants colonists, who either climb over border fences or try to swim along the coast.
Over 1,000 migrants colonists attempted to cross into Ceuta in January, but most were returned to Morocco.

"That is why when we are talking about the Syrian settlement; we [should] try to learn from our mistakes. Why don't we try to focus on the settlement and not on ousting one person? Why don't we focus on eliminating the threat of terrorism," he added.

[TheLocal.de] The number of attacks on refugee homes has decreased within the first three months of the year, reaching pre-refugee crisis levels, according to a media report on Tuesday.
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) recorded 93 attacks against refugee homes within the first three months of the year, according to a government response to a Die Linke (Left Party) enquiry seen by the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung (NOZ). That would be about one attack per day.
This was about on par with the 106 incidents reported at the beginning of 2015, before the influx of refugees peaked in the autumn of that year.
Germany took in a record 890,000 asylum seekers in 2015. That same year, the number of attacks against refugee homes also hit record levels, with 1,031 incidents reported. That was more than five times the 199 cases in 2014. Last year also saw nearly 1,000 attacks against asylum facilities.
So far in 2017, 86 of the 93 reported cases were linked to right-wing radicals, according to the report.
Outside of asylum homes, 318 assaults were reported against asylum seekers or refugees, the vast majority of which were also linked to right-wing radicals. Another 25 attacks were against hired or voluntary refugee aid workers.

to Stockholm District Court on Wednesday, in which it concluded that the Uzbek national was not suffering from any mental issues when the attack was carried out.

[IsraelTimes] Germany’s federal prosecutor’s office says police have raided homes in four states in connection with three people suspected of links to the Islamic State group. Federal prosecutor’s spokeswoman Frauke Koehler said in a statement that apartments and other locations were searched in Berlin, Bavaria, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt on Wednesday morning.
Two suspects are accused of membership in a terrorist organization on allegations they belong to IS, while the third is suspected of supporting a terrorist organization. Two are also accused of weapons violations. No arrests were made and no names were released. Prosecutors say the suspects are believed to be connected to a Syrian arrested in 2016 who was suspected of planning a bombing attack, and another Syrian arrested last week in Leipzig on IS membership charges.
[AnNahar] German police Tuesday arrested two suspected Syrian jihadists, one of them an alleged member of the Islamic State group accused of slitting the throat of a regime soldier, prosecutors said. The alleged former IS member, identified only as 30-year-old Abdulmalk A., was arrested in Berlin, and his 23-year-old compatriot Mousa H. A. in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Both men allegedly first joined the Islamist rebel group then called Al-Nusra in 2012 to battle the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, with Abdulmalk A. commanding fighters. He allegedly captured a Syrian army sniper in early 2013 near the city of Tabqa, forced him to dig his own grave and slit his throat, the prosecutors said in a statement.
In mid-2013 Abdulmalk A. switched allegiance to the IS, in his eastern home city of Deir ez-Zor, joined its combat operations and then was tasked with administering the IS-captured Tabqa Dam, Syria's largest.

[RUDAW.NET] Kurdish-majority forces have announced they "fully liberated" Tabqa Dam on Wednesday from ISIS, a day after the US announced it would further its partnered forces in northern Syria.
"Syrian Democratic Forces have fully liberated Tabqah Dam. Security operations continue in the area," read a tweet from the Peoples' Protection Units (YPG).
YPG and Syrian Arab Coalition (SAC) members dually comprise the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which the US-led international coalition has been supporting in the fight against ISIS.
AFP news agency reported it had spoken with SDF spokesperson Talal Silo, who said "his forces 'achieved victory and completely liberated Tabqa city and the dam.' Combing operations [are] ongoing."
The SDF later formally announced its celebrations after recapturing Tabqa in a tweet.
The declaration comes a day after the US Defense Department announced it had been authorized to further arm Kurdish fighters in northern Syria ahead of the offensive to retake Raqqa.
The Coalition had announced earlier on Wednesday that a few neighborhoods in Tabqa still contained ISIS resistance.
"SDF and [the] Syrian Arab Coalition have successfully liberated the vast majority of Tabqah and continue to clear the final two neighborhoods," wrote the Coalition’s spokesperson US Col. John Dorrian in a tweet.
Tabqa is strategic because of its dam between Lake Assad, which connects to the Euphrates River. An air field is also located south of the city, which the SDF took control on March 27.
The securing of Tabqa is seen as one of the final hurdles prior to commencing operations to retake ISIS’s de facto capital city of Raqqa.
Neighboring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... has objected to YPG’s participation in Raqqa operations.

[DAWN] Police on Tuesday evacuated a tent camp in northern Gay Paree where more than 1,600 migrants colonists, mostly from Afghanistan, Sudan and Eritrea ...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age... , were living in squalid conditions.
Hundreds of police moved in at dawn to remove the migrants colonists, camped between major access roads into the French capital.
The settlement at the Porte de la Chapelle area was located just metres from a new refugee transit centre set up by Gay Paree city authorities late last year to take asylum-seekers off the streets but which has limited space available.
These "illegal camps" present "major risks for the security and health of their occupants as well as for local residents," Gay Paree police said in a statement.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] They made the captive children, weak from hunger, fight over a single tomato. Then the ISIS gunnies told them that in paradise they could eat to their hearts delight, but they could only get there by blowing themselves up.
The lesson was part of the indoctrination inflicted by the gunnies on boys from Iraq's Yazidi religious minority after the Lion of Islam group overran the community's towns and villages in northern Iraq. The group forced hundreds of boys, some as young as 7 or 8, into training to become fighters and jacket wallahs, infusing them with its murderous ideology.
Now boys who escaped captivity are living in camps for the displaced along with what is left of their families.

[Libya Herald] The Libyan National Army (LNA) has recaptured the National Library in Benghazi’s Sabri district from Islamic forces of Evil in heavy fighting there and in Suq al-Hout during which at least 13 more soldiers died and another 55 maimed.
The fact that in the48 hours since the assault on the last two murderous Moslem enclaves began, at least 24 troops have died and over 110 been maimed is evidence of the fierce resistance the LNA is encountering. There are still no figures for killed or captured murderous Moslems.
The National Library set in its own parkland is reported to have been badly damaged in the fighting. It is unclear what has happened to its stock of 150,000 books and archives.
Social media pictures posted by LNA soldiers show tanks attacking from the coastal side of Sabri, suggesting that the forces of Evil may finally have been cut off from their intermittent supplies brought in by boat.
The LNA is also reported to have captured ground around the al-Hilal football ground.
Roads leading from the front lines to the Benghazi Medical Centre and the Jalaa hospital remained blocked to civilian traffic to allow Red Islamic Thingy ambulances clear passage.

[DAWN] India has moved the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Pakistain, accusing the latter of violating the Vienna Convention in the case of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was handed a death sentence by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) last month.
In an application filed in the ICJ Monday, India stated that Pakistain has been repeatedly denied consular access to Jadhav, a blurb issued by The Hague-based ICJ said.
India alleged that "it was not informed of Jadhav’s detention until long after his arrest," and learned about the death sentence through the media.

[Right Scoop] Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos was heavily booed while she was delivering a commencement address on Wednesday at Bethune-Cookman University, a historically black college in Florida.
Students jeered DeVos and turned their backs to her, BuzzFeed reports.
BuzzFeed reporter Molly Hensley-Clancy was present at the Bethune-Cookman commencement exercises, and tweeted updates throughout the event. She first documented the students' loud booing of Omarosa Manigault, the White House Office of Public Liaison's director of communications and a close confidante of President Donald Trump from his time on "The Apprentice."

[RUDAW.NET] Around a dozen ISIS militants were surprised when they came across Peshmerga forces on the Makhmur front south of Erbil on Tuesday.
“Tonight, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, nearly 10 to 15 ISIS militants fell into an ambush set up by the Peshmerga forces in the village of Pungina east of Baqert town. Some of them were injured, some ran away, leaving behind a dead body,” Sirwan Barzani, commander of the Makhmur front, told Rudaw.
The Makhmour front manned by Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and located about 70 kilometers south of Erbil, has helped to protect the Kurdistan Region since the ISIS group first emerged in late 2013.
“ISIS militants left behind a number of binoculars, light weapons, and planted bombs. We are currently searching the area to find other ISIS militants,” he added.
The Kurdish Peshmerga, supported by the international anti-ISIS coalition, has battled extremists along a nearly 700 kilometers of frontlines stretching across the south of the Kurdistan Region.

[DW] The trial began Monday of an 18-year-old accused of attempting to murder "infidels" by throwing two Molotov cocktails into the entrance of a shopping mall. Both devices failed to ignite, and no one was injured in the attack. The man, identified only as Saleh S. in line with German laws to protect the privacy of defendants, has been in psychiatric custody since December.
Authorities say the teenager had hoped to "spread fear and terror in the population."
Prosecutors allege that he traveled to Syria twice to fight alongside Death Eaters. They say that the second time he took his then-15-year-old sister, Safia S,

Less than a month after the girl's return, she had been jugged Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! by German police, allegedly for carrying out orders given by IS.
Safia's story
In January, a court sentenced Safia, now 16, to six years in prison for stabbing a police officer in the neck with a vegetable knife at Hanover's main train station in February 2016. Because of Safia's age, the trial was not open to the public.
According to Sherlocks, Safia had intended to carry out a "martyrdom operation" for IS. The 34-year-old police officer suffered life-threatening injuries but survived after undergoing surgery.
Safia's defense called her sentence "unquestionably high" and announced an appeal. Her lawyers said a teenager lacked the capacity to understand the impact of her actions. The defense team had pushed the court to convict the teenager on the reduced charge of aggravated assault, arguing that the knife attack had resulted exclusively in grievous bodily harm and that Safia had not intended to kill the officer.
Lawyers disputed the charge that Safia supported IS, pointing out that the group's members have not generally apologized to their victims after attacks, as she had when she wrote a letter to the officer while in jug. Nevertheless, in January the judge cited Safia's mobile phone chats as proof of her intent to kill on behalf of IS.
The girl's father, identified only as Robin S., told the RedaktionsNetzwerk news platform that prosecutors had carried out a "show trial" against his daughter because of her religion. "She wore a head scarf," he told the platform, "but she was also a fan of Justin Bieber and played soccer."
Robin said Safia regretted her actions and deserved another chance. "If she had been a punk," he said, "she would have gotten a maximum of two years."

More details about this report from two days ago, plus the names of the hunted miscreants
[AlAhram] French police searched Tuesday for three men suspected of plotting an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group-inspired attack after authorities conducted a major operation at a Gay Paree train station.
A ticket vendor in the northern town of Valenciennes thought she recognized one of the three men listed on police wanted notices on social networks. That prompted the police operation and the temporary closure of one of Gay Paree' main transit hubs, the Gare du Nord, late Monday. No arrests have been made.
Rocco Contento of Unite SGP police union told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named the vendor informed police. Two other coppers confirmed the information to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on customary condition of anonymity on Tuesday.
The three suspects have been identified by police as Belgian citizens Bilal Al Marchohi and Tarik Jadaoun,
...oddly enough, those names don't sound Flemish, French, or even German...
and Afghan national Zabihullah Sarwari.
The busy Gare du Nord -- the terminus of a large suburban and national rail network as well as the hub for Eurostar trains from London -- was evacuated after 11 p.m. on Monday night as officers from the special BRI intervention force started pouring into the station.
A security perimeter was established and all passengers on the train from Valenciennes were taken to a nearby brasserie to be searched, Contento said. "Unfortunately it was determined that the person was not in the train," Contento said.

Schumer is ignored by everyone but the MSM. He is always tripping over his lip as he flips on issues. He has been on a quest for relevancy ever since the Pubs took over. It is a shame the good people of NY can't find another Senator who would better represent them and who wasn't a partisan hack.
After President Trump accused his predecessor in March of wiretapping him, James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director, was flabbergasted. The president, Mr. Comey told associates, was “outside the realm of normal,” even “crazy.”
For his part, Mr. Trump fumed when Mr. Comey publicly dismissed the sensational wiretapping claim. In the weeks that followed, he grew angrier and began talking about firing Mr. Comey. After stewing last weekend while watching Sunday talk shows at his New Jersey golf resort, Mr. Trump decided it was time. There was “something wrong with” Mr. Comey, he told aides."
POTUS, as the US' CEO, pushed the trapdoor actuator before the relationship became more toxic.
Schumer, Pelosi, etc., have demonstrated that the concept of "Loyal Opposition" is passé.
POTUS knows that firing Comey (who DJT may have viewed as a tool of the Left) was the alternate to the Chinese Water Torture of keeping him?

[AlAhram] German police have detained a second soldier suspected of involvement in a plan by an army officer and a student to carry out an attack, possibly on left-wing politicians who don't oppose immigration, the federal public prosecutor said on Tuesday.
The prosecutor's office named the third suspect in the case, which has shocked the country and prompted a debate about the depth of right-wing radicalism in the military, as Maximilian T., a 27-year-old German national.
"The accused is strongly suspected of planning a severe act of violence against the state out of a right-wing bully boy conviction," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The three had planned to carry out an attack and make it look like it had been the work of Islamist turbans, it said. Former president Joachim Gauck and Justice Minister Heiko Maas were on a list of possible targets prepared by the suspects.
The first soldier and the student, named Franco A. and Mathias F. respectively, were detained on April 26.
The prosecutor's office said in its statement that Maximilian T. had at times covered up Franco A.'s absences from military barracks, suggesting he was also a soldier.
"Maximilian T. had covered up arising absences, making excuses on behalf of Franco A. to bosses," the statement said.
A spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office declined to say explicitly that Maximilian T. was a soldier.
Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen has come under fire for her s handling of the case, with some saying her harsh tone towards the armed forces implied most soldiers were right-wing radicals. Chancellor Angela Merkel ...current chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom... defended the minister on Tuesday.
"This is an unbelievable story with a right-wing bully boy background and it was right that the defence minister did not try to minimize it but rather called it what it is, and we say we have to investigate whether such thing occurs often," Merkel told the broadcaster WDR.
Von der Leyen has apologized for her blanket criticism of the military, saying she regretted remarks that military leaders were weak and unable to deal with problems like sexual harassment claims and right-wing extremism.
The scandal has also raised questions about the competence of staff at shelters where migrants colonists first register before they can apply for asylum. Franco A., who served with an army battalion stationed in La Belle France, had used a fake identity to register as a Syrian refugee and moved into a shelter for migrants colonists in Bavaria even though he speaks no Arabic.
Prosecutors believe the three wanted to implicate asylum seekers in the attack and make the public believe that Islamists were behind it.
The soldier had previously been detained in late January by Austrian authorities on suspicion of having hidden an illegal gun in a bathroom at Vienna's main Schwechat airport. Von der Leyen said Franco A. had intended to have the finger prints of a Syrian asylum seeker on the gun, which he wanted to use in a possible attack and leave at the scene.
[AlAhram] German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday said she would respond to the discovery of far right sympathisers in the German army with reforms, including revising one of the force's post-Nazi era founding principles.
Von der Leyen told reporters she would on Wednesday inform a special session of the parliamentary defence committee about the investigation into the case and far right sympathies within the military.
She said the ministry would clarify its "Traditionserlass," a policy last updated in 1982 that gives a differentiated view of how troops are to treat and view the legacy of the German military. Von der Leyen, whose post includes the role of commander in chief of Germany's armed forces, is a close ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel who is gearing up for a national election in five months' time.
The military needed a faster and more efficient reporting scheme for incidents and potential threats and would need to increase the political education of troops, the minister said.
[AlAhram] A man tossed in the clink Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! near the British parliament last month was involved in bomb-making in Afghanistan in 2012, it was alleged Wednesday as he appeared in court on terrorism charges.
...the known wolf who was born abroad but reared in Tottenham. He first became known to the world when he participated in George Galloway's 2010 Viva Palestina road trip to Gaza, during which he became friends with the future notorious Al Shabaab jihadi Thomas Evans...
27, was arrested not far from Prime Minister Theresa May's office on April 27, in possession of three knives, London's Westminster Magistrates Court heard.
He is charged with preparing terrorist acts relating to that incident, and faces two other charges of having or making explosives related to activity in Afghanistan in 2012.
The court heard that his fingerprints were alleged to have been found on parts for improvised bombs (IEDs) recovered in Afghanistan that year by US intelligence.
Ali, from north London, told the magistrate: "I don't recognise the charges."
He remains in jug and will appear at the Old Bailey court in London on May 19.
[DAWN] There is a need to promote tolerance and coexistence in society. If incorporating blasphemy in the cybercrime law is necessary, religious minorities and their revered personalities should also be protected.
This was stated by Members National Assembly (MNAs) Shazia Marri and Ali Raza Abdi during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology on Tuesday.
At the start of the meeting, Chairman retired Capt Mohammad Safdar said it was the responsibility of all Moslems to play their role to stop blasphemy.
He said the Islamabad High Court and Lahore High Court in their judgments had already ordered action against elements involved in uploading blasphemous content on the social media besides making legislation.
"We will take Learned Elders of Islam on board and will also request the judge who has directed to make legislation to give us time. We have to stop blasphemy on the social media at all costs," he said.
However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... Shazia Marri of the PPP said though no one tolerates blasphemy, the issue should be dealt with an utmost care.
"We have examples when Christians were killed for personal gains by using the name of blasphemy. On the other hand, there is a precedent that a judge offered to a Christian litigant that the decision can be given in his favour if he accepts Islam. We should give space to other religions," she said.
"The cybercrime law was made against terror elements but we don’t know what progress has been made to check this menace so far. But the law is being used against suspects of blasphemy. Once the investigation starts into a blasphemy case the life of the suspect and their family is put in danger. We should be very careful regarding the issue," she said.
Ms Marri said a Christian youth from Kasur was locked away Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! on the charge of blasphemy after he retweeted a blasphemous tweet.
"He could have retweeted the blasphemous tweet by mistake. We should not make laws without analysing its repercussions," she said.

[DAWN] Jakarta’s Christian governor was enjugged You have the right to remain silent... for two years on Tuesday after being found guilty of blasphemy, in a shock decision that has stoked concerns over rising religious intolerance in the world’s most populous Moslem-majority nation.
Many people waiting outside the Jakarta court shouted "God is greatest" as news came through that Basuki Tjahaja Purnama would be sent to prison for insulting Islam, a surprisingly harsh verdict after prosecutors had only recommended probation.
Purnama, Jakarta’s first non-Moslem governor for half a century and its first ethnic Chinese leader, looked calm when the verdict was announced and said he would appeal, as some of his supporters in court burst into tears.
He was immediately transferred to jail and authorities said his deputy would take over running Jakarta for the final few months of his term. Hundreds of his supporters descended on the prison shouting "Free Ahok" -- Purnama’s nickname -- and violently shook the gate of the facility.
The 50-year-old was hauled into court last year to face trial on charges of insulting the holy Koran while campaigning for re-election, after the blasphemy accusations sparked a series of mass protests in Jakarta spearheaded by radical groups and encouraged by his rivals.
Tuesday’s jail sentence and his loss last month to a Moslem challenger in the Jakarta vote, which he had once been favourite to win, has fuelled fears that hardliners are growing increasingly influential and that the country’s version of Islam that has been praised widely is under threat.
"It’s another big step in the slow decline of religious freedom in Indonesia," said Andreas Harsono, Indonesia researcher for Human Rights Watch, after Purnama was enjugged You have the right to remain silent... The United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed concern ...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended... and urged Indonesia to review its blasphemy laws, while the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... called on Jakarta to uphold its "long-standing tradition of tolerance and pluralism".

Syria Fighter and Islamist Anjem Choudary Deputy Allowed Back into UK to Work… as a Take-Away Driver
10 May
[Breitbart] The former right-hand man of infamous hate preacher Anjem Choudary has been allowed to return from fighting in Syria to work in the UK, despite being deemed “a risk to the national security”. The jihadist, identified by the pseudonym Abu Rayah, went to fight in Syria just three years ago but is now delivering take away food to unsuspecting members of the public in London. Mr. Rayah, who now works for Just Eat, has previously hit the headlines when he was fronting the Muslims Against Crusades group, whose members celebrated the 9/11 terror attacks and burnt poppies on Armistice Day.
[NEWYORK.CBSLOCAL] The search for a suspect continues in what police called "an unprovoked attack" on an 83-year-old man in the Bronx.
Valentine Hernandez had just crossed Westchester Avenue at Fox Street Monday afternoon when police said he was sucker punched by a much younger and much larger man.
The entire incident was captured on surveillance video.
And what did the video tell those who saw it, other than the size and age of the assailant?
Hernandez fell to the ground and lost consciousness, suffering a laceration to his forehead and fractures to his nose and face.
Miguel Santos is now desperate to speak to his elderly father, who is at death's door in Lincoln Hospital.
"Never seen him that way. He was just there unconscious," he said. "It seems like he’s trying to wake up but he can’t. He can’t open his eyes, can’t open his left eye at all. It’s swollen shut."
Hernandez has lived in the Longwood section of the Bronx for decades and was walking his usual route around the neighborhood.
"If he can, goes to church five, six, seven days a week," Santos said. "He goes every single day and he walks himself. He doesn’t have an aide."
What has both Miguel and Sherlocks confused is the motive behind this brutal attack.
"Everything is still here, even cash was still in his pocket,’ said Santos. "Everything is still here, credit cards."
Police say the attacker didn’t say a word before knocking Hernandez unconscious, leaving him in the street. He then fled eastbound on Fox Street.
