Totalism's new guise
It is time for plain speaking: true to its Leftist, "progressive" nature, the Democrat party is the American proto-fascist party, pure and simple, on this as on most every other public matter. An apt description of fascism is that is it one variant of what psychiatrist and historian Robert Lifton called "totalism." Professor Anna Geifman explains the Totalist political world view:

... Its devotees -- anarchists, Marxists, or Islamists -- want to impose a new order based on an "all-or-nothing claim to truth." They operate within distinctive parameters of a "theology of Armageddon -- a final battle between good and evil" ‐ in which the stakes are nothing less than universal salvation. As outlined in Eric Hoffer’s classic, The True Believer, such movements have mastered the art of "religiofication," that is, converting political grievances into messianic aspirations and "practical purposes into holy causes." [HT: American Digest]

No one gravitates to the Left in order to let others live their lives as they see fit. The beating heart of Totalism in all its forms is power and control over others. This has become the raison d'etre of the Democrat party.

Why the president needs to be white, male and Republican
by Glen Reynolds
The press has done a lousy job of protecting American freedoms in recent years. But I have a modest proposal for improving press performance: Elect a white male Republican.

When Bill Clinton was inaugurated as president, actor Ron Silver, then a Democrat, was there. And when fighter jets flew over the Lincoln Memorial, he was reportedly at first upset at the military symbolism, but then reminded himself that since Democrat Clinton was being sworn in, "those are our planes now."

We’re seeing something of a reverse-version of this phenomenon as large swathes of the commentariat realize that we might wind up with a President Trump. Suddenly, sweeping executive power (fine with many under President Obama) is being portrayed as a possible threat to the republic. Which, to be fair, it is. But only now do they care.

#4  It is no longer out of many one, rather, it is divide and conquer. If you look at the demographics of the electoral college, and the way the 20+ largest cities offset the rest of the state, all they have to do is import a huge number of future citizens who are bred for dependency, and volila, Anschloss revisited and one party rule in perpetuity. Then, gun confiscation and healthcare control, and taxation to produce a "fair share" society.
Gee, I wonder if they would dare do that? Duh, it is happening before your eyes my friends....

Billions for Tribute, But Not One Cent for Defense

The EU is proposing to spend up to ten percent of its budget on the immigration crisis. The Guardian reports:

The German development minister, Gerd Muller, said the EU’s current mechanisms for responding to the refugee crisis were not fit for purpose, and suggested appointing a special commissioner to lead a combined European refugee strategy, as well as other global humanitarian challenges.

China-Japan-Koreas
NKor linked to digital robberies of banks around the world
Security researchers have tied the recent spate of digital breaches on Asian banks to North Korea, in what they say appears to be the first known case of a nation using digital attacks for financial gain.

On Thursday, the Symantec researchers said they had uncovered evidence linking an attack at a bank in the Philippines last October with attacks on Tien Phong Bank in Vietnam in December and one in February on the central bank of Bangladesh that resulted in the theft of more than $81 million.

"If you believe North Korea was behind those attacks, then the bank attacks were also the work of North Korea," said Eric Chien, a security researcher at Symantec, who found that identical code was used across all three attacks.

"We've never seen an attack where a nation-state has gone in and stolen money," Mr. Chien added. "This is a first."

In the attack at Bangladesh's central bank in February, the thieves tried to transfer $1 billion in funds from an account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Fed officials became suspicious of the some of requested transfers and released only $81 million to accounts in the Philippines.

"If you presume it's North Korea, $1 billion is almost 10 percent of their G.D.P.," Mr. Chien said. "This is not small change for them."

Uganda 2010 Bombing Mastermind Found Guilty
The mills of Justice grind slowly, but eventually they get there.
[AnNahar] The Ugandan ringleader of a 2010 bombing by the Al-Qaeda-linked Shabaab that killed 76 people in Kinshasa was found guilty on Thursday of criminal masterminding one of the region's worst attacks in decades.

Twin suicide kabooms claimed by Somalia's Shabaab targeted football fans watching the World Cup final between the Netherlands and Spain at a restaurant and a rugby club in the Ugandan capital.

Judge Alfonse Owiny-Dollo said Issa Luyima, a Ugandan, had been shown during the trial to have played a key part in planning the attacks.

"I therefore find Issa Luyima guilty for the offence of terrorism of which he was charged, so I convict him," Owiny-Dollo said.

Prosecutors said Luyima -- one of 13 men receiving their verdicts -- had gone to Somalia where he trained with Shabaab.

The judge was reading the verdicts against 12 other suspects also in court.

The 13 men, all who pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
, were brought to the High Court in Kampala under heavy security, with roads and shops around the court closed.

Judge Owiny-Dollo, who began to read the verdicts mid-morning, could apply the death sentence to those found guilty.

The 13 men -- seven Kenyans, five Ugandans and one Tanzanian -- have been tried on a range of charges including terrorism, murder and membership of a terrorist organization.

Two men were already found in guilty in 2011 for their role in the attacks.

Edris Nsubuga, who admitted terrorism charges, was spared the death penalty because he expressed contrition over the carnage and was tossed in the clink
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
for 25 years. Co-accused Muhamoud Mugisha received five years for conspiracy to commit terrorism.

The Kampala trial was delayed after the lead prosecutor was murdered in March 2015. Joan Kagezi, acting assistant director of public prosecution, was rubbed out by men on a cycle of violence as she drove home with three of her children.

Al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
continues to target countries in the region, carrying out the 2013 assault on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi that killed at least 67 people, and the attack on Kenya's Garissa university in April 2015, killing at least 148 people.

Thousands of Ugandan troops form the backbone of the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...

Israel strikes in Gaza Strip in response to rocket attack
[IsraelTimes] Air force hits two Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, sites in coastal territory; none hurt as forces of Evil target Sha’ar Hanegev area

The Israeli air force attacked two Hamas targets in the Gazoo Strip Wednesday night, hours after forces of Evil in the Strip fired a rocket into Israel from the territory.

Paleostinian media reported that a second rocket fired towards Israel went kaboom! inside Gazoo territory.

Walla News said a small group with ties to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, the Omar Hadid Brigade, grabbed credit for the attack.

The IDF said in a statement that it held Gazoo’s Hamas rulers responsible for keeping the peace in Gazoo.

There were no reports of injuries or damage in the rocket attack, which was not preceded by a warning siren. Reports suggested the rocket hit an open area in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council bordering the Gazoo Strip.

Israel has seen sporadic fire from the Gazoo Strip, usually claimed by small Salafi groups engaged in a power struggle with Hamas.

Tensions have risen along the border recently after Israel’s discovery and destruction of two attack tunnels dug by Hamas inside Israeli territory. The operations to destroy the second tunnel sparked some festivities with Hamas, who fired mortars at the troops. A few IDF engineering vehicles were damaged in the attacks, but no Israeli soldiers were maimed.
Ynet explains who fired the rockets, and why:
Radical Islamic movement says it fired rockets into Israel as revenge against Hamas' arrests of its activists

The Salafi movement has grabbed credit for a rocket launched into Israel on Wednesday night from the Gazoo Strip. According to its statement, they fired in retaliation against the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, mass wave of arrests made against members of the Salafi organization in the Gazoo Strip.
An Nahar names names:
A statement from Ajnad Beit al-Maqdis, a small Salafist jihadi group, claimed the rocket attack.

The strikes in the city west of Baghdad hit three Islamic State tactical units and two tunnels used by the group as well as four vehicles, an artillery piece, a weapons cache and three fighting positions, the coalition leading the operations said in a statement released on Thursday.

Other strikes included five near djinn-infested Mosul

, another city where Iraqi forces, with support from the coalition, are working to retake control in the country's northern region. Targets near the cities of Habbaniya, Haditha, Hit, Qayyara, Sinjar, Sultan Abdalla and Tal Afar, the Combined Joint Task Force said.

Separately, in Syria, five US-led strikes near four cities also hit five Islamic state fighting units, among other targets, it said.

Arabia
Al Qaeda still Reaping Oil Profits in Yemen
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Continuous battles in Yemen have managed to clear out Al Qaeda militants from the enclave it carved out in the country as it descended into ferocious civil war; however, the militants are still entrenched in other parts of the country’s south, reaping profits from smuggled fuel.

The offensive backed by Gulf Arab states on Al Qaeda’s de facto capital of Mukalla, Yemen’s third largest seaport, left scores of militants killed, but hundreds fled to neighboring Shabwa province and beyond.

A month later, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) is thriving by joining diverse armed groups in taxing fuel delivered illicitly to remote beaches along the Arabian Sea coast, security, tribal and shipping sources say.

Somalia: Govt troops retake key town from Al shabaab
Somali National Army (SNA) and supporting foreign forces have retaken the key town of Toratorow in Lower Shabelle region from Al shabaab militants on Thursday. Reports said SNA troops entered the town without encountering a resistance from Al Qaeda-linked Al shabaab fighters, the government’s first significant victory in its push to recapture all rebel-held towns.

Toratorow is about 90 kilometers (55 miles) southwest of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, and its capture means big blow to Al shabaab militants in the southern Lower region, according to Somali military.

Al shabaab fighters pulled out of the area before Somali army backed by tanks and warplanes belonging to foreign forces, including AU peacekeepers moved in. The situation of the town has returned to normal as Somali troops set up barracks in and around the town to prvent Al shabaab from launching an offensive on the city, residents said.
Until they leave tomorrow...

[IsraelTimes] Border cops detain 26-year-old suspected of planning to stab Israeli forces at Tomb of the Patriarchs

Border Police troops incarcerated
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
a Paleostinian man Thursday in possession of a knife near the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, a police spokesperson said.

The man, a 26-year-old resident of the West Bank city, "aroused the suspicion" of the officers and they found a knife on his person when they searched him, police said.
It's Hebron, so no doubt it will be discovered he is connected to Hamas.
The suspect was handed over to security forces for questioning.

The Tomb of the Patriarchs, a flashpoint site considered holy to Jews and Muslims alike, has been the scene of numerous stabbings and attempted stabbings since Israeli-Paleostinian violence escalated last October.

82 civilians killed, wounded by random Shiite mortar shells on Fallujah
[RUDAW.NET] Eighty-two civilians in the embattled town of Fallujah have been killed and maimed due to random bombardments of the Shiite militias in two days of military operations, and that has concerned US military personnel involved in operations in the battle for Fallujah.

"As a result of mortar shells by [Shiite militia] Hashd al-Shaabi, 32 people were killed and 50 maimed including women and kiddies in Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
" said Uzal Fahdawi, a member of Anbar Provincial Council.

Iraqi troops backed by Shiite militia and coalition air support launched a major offensive on Sunday to wrest control of Fallujah from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) two years after the group captured the Sunni city.

Concerning the random mortar shells Hashd al-Shaabi has been launching on Fallujah, US military personnel have held urgent meetings with top commanders of the offensive, namely Abdul Wahab Saadi, commander of the Fallujah operations command and many other high-ranking Iraqi military officers.

"Shiite militia have to immediately stop random mortar shells and also no barriers should be put before civilians fleeing the town and their men should not be imprisoned," said Fahdawi quoting US military officials during a three hour long meeting with Iraqi army officials.

He added that "in the meeting it was also decreed that Hashd al-Shaabi should be withdrawn and renounce the battle for Fallujah, but they are still bombing the town."

Of 10,000 families believed to be still living in the city, only 80 have been able to flee, according to information obtained by Rudaw. They fear that any family seen trying to escape the terrorist group will be executed.

The Anbar provincial council member also disclosed that ISIS has been using civilians as human shields since day one.

The Iraqi army continues to bring in large reinforcements to increase the pressure on ISIS to abandon the contested town.

"Anbar tactical police regiment has a record number of 400 coppers that have been fully equipped by the USA to take part in military operations and have been based on the outskirts of Fallujah," said Hadi Rzich, Anbar police commander.

An estimated 400 to 600 ISIS forces of Evil are believed to have been fighting off Iraqi joint forces from Fallujah, while 22,000 Iraqi joint forces have been moved to the outskirts of Fallujah to liberate the long-held ISIS town.

has said Pakistain is a reliable partner fir Lions of Islam and not the United States, warning that the provision of millions in aid to Pak government in fight against terrorism would have a reverse outcome.

The US Senator was speaking to Voice of America’s Afghanistan during an exclusive interview.

Senator Rohrabacher further added that Islamabad considers the US Arclight airstrike against the Taliban leader a violation of its illusory sovereignty as it has provided safe havens for the Lions of Islam who are taking lives of thousands of people and innocent Afghans.

He said the United States will not be concerned regarding the feelings of Pakistain for the US Arclight airstrikes targeting the terrorists.

Calling the Taliban group a terrorist organization, Senator Rohrabacher said the leaders of the group and all other Lions of Islam organizations should be targeted by United States wherever they are based.

Senator Rohrabacher also added that the Afghans should fully lead the war in their soil and the United States must provide Afghanistan with all needed support.

He also added that Pakistain, Saud Arabia and Taliban have are attempting to have influence and power in Afghanistan and this issue has taken Afghanistan into a crisis.

According to Senator Rohrabacher, the United States should support a courageous military individual to fight the menace of terror and sustain a non-radical Islamic government in Afghanistan.

Senator Rohrabacher said the First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum

Alarm Bells Ring In India Over Botched Terror Plot
[Tolo News] A botched terror bid in New Delhi set alarm bells ringing for Indian security agencies after Lions of Islam posing as Afghan medical tourists were able to infiltrate the capital, intelligence sources told India Today this week.

According to the media outlet, the criminal mastermind behind the failed December, 2015, terror plan was Maulana Abdul Rehman ‐ whom they claim played a key role in the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines' IC 814 flight.

Quoting intelligence sources, India Today reports that Rehman launched his first terror attempt on India in November when he sent two of his men to target five locations in Delhi with chemical bombs. According to the report, at the time Rehman had been backed by Pakistain's ISI and by Haqqani network.

The two infiltrators - identified as Pak Ahmed Khan Durrani and Afghan national Abdul Qadri - used medical visas to enter New Delhi, the article stated. Durrani posed as an Afghan patient and Qadri as his attendant, the officials reportedly explained.

They said Durrani had a forged passport issued in the name of Sohaib Abbas and that he had undergone training in chemical bomb-making.

While in Delhi, the duo reportedly remained in contact with their handler, identified as Abid, who had set up a control-room in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
area of Pakistain-Afghan border.

According to the news article, the two had a hit list, which listed the Iskcon temple, a shopping mall and three other targets.

In addition the two bought bomb-making materials, such as fireworks for gunpowder, wires, bottles and watches, from Old Delhi markets.

Quoting security sources, India Today said the pair was able to make six chemical bombs which they planned to use in serial attacks in the second week of December.

But a test run went awry forcing them to abandon their sinister plan.

The two men reportedly panicked after a bomb they tried to detonate in the bathroom of their room sent huge plumes of smoke out of their building.
Scared, they apparently got rid of all devices and bomb-making material and fled to Afghanistan.

After Sherlocks unearthed the terror plan, intelligence agencies alerted the police in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
who then jugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
Durrani and Qadri. Explosives and secret documents were recovered from their possession.

But according to the news article, Indian Intelligence officials describe the entire modus operandi as alarming, with a new module using a new route of medical tourism to strike India.

According to them, the criminal mastermind, Rehman, heads an organization called Al Barkat Trust and has an office in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
, security officials said.

His trust has established the new group called Jaish-ul-Haq. Rehman's second-in-command has been identified as Dr Zubair.

Authorities foil attempt to smuggle metal pipes, motors into Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Seized materials could have been used by Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, for rocket and mortar production and tunnel construction, officials say

Israeli authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle metal pipes and motors into the Gazoo Strip, which could have been used for building rockets and tunnels, the Defense Ministry announced Thursday.

The Gazoo-bound shipment came through Tarkumiya, a small village outside of Hebron in the West Bank. The trucks were headed to the Kerem Shalom crossing, where they would enter the coastal enclave.

Inspectors at the Tarkumiya crossing, along with the Shin Bet security service, intercepted the packages, which were believed to have been on their way to the Hamas terror organization in the Gazoo Strip, the ministry said in a statement.

According to officials, the "large shipment" consisted of "hundreds of pipes with a diameter under four inches, with a special kind of screw that is used for the production of mortars and rockets."

In addition to the weapons manufacturing material, the crossing authority employees also uncovered "dozens of electric motors that are used by terror groups for different build-up purposes, including the construction of underground networks," the Defense Ministry said, referring to Hamas’s extensive system of attack and smuggling tunnels.

"The shipment has been confiscated and an investigation has been opened to locate those involved in the smuggling," the Defense Ministry said.

The illicit materials were "camouflaged," stuck in alongside "textiles and jewelry." This practice of hiding illegal goods among approved products has become the go-to method for smugglers. Earlier this year, electrodes were discovered hidden in butter from a Ramallah factory.

Earlier this month, Israel’s Tax Authority uncovered an attempt to sneak four tons of ammonium chloride into Gazoo, concealed in table salt.

#1  Anything going in or out of Gaza should be examined thoroughly, crate by crate. Hamas must be forced out of Gaza no matter how long it takes. The Pali civilians are growing weary of constant war. They must be made aware that hamas is the cause of their suffering. Soon the people will explode causing regime change, and a peace treaty signed. Just like with Egypt.

US recruits more Arabs for operations in northern Syria
[ARA News] KOBANE – The US State Department spokesman Mark Toner on Friday said that the US has been working on diversifying the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) by recruiting more Arabs.

“I can say that the force that successfully took Shaddadi [from ISIS] I think a few weeks ago was 60 percent Kurd and 40 percent Arab and other elements. And this reflects some of the training that we’ve been doing, DOD – the Department of Defense, has been conducting that has seen greater influx of Arab fighters. I think they just graduated a class of 200 additional Arabs who are joining this fight. There’s another class poised to be – graduate that’s another additional 200,” Toner said.

“We’re cognizant of the need to have diversified forces conducting these kinds of operations, given the sensitivities of the communities that they’re liberating. And then specifically on Raqqa, we have seen – I think the Kurds themselves have said publicly that they understand the political dimensions of this fight and that it would need to be an Arab – a predominantly Arab force liberating Arab areas in Syria,” the spokesperson said.

The US government is also trying to make them more diversified. “But we’re certainly sensitive to the viewpoints and the sensitivities of these populations,” Toner said.

The spokesman has indirectly denied that they supplied the SDF with TOW missiles and American-made vehicles.

“I think what we’ve said before holds, which is that there’s fortunately – or unfortunately, rather, there’s a lot of liberated, shall we say, equipment that’s being used on the battlefield. It’s impossible for us to say where that equipment has come from or where it’s sourced from. We just don’t have the clarity on that,” he said

Speaking to ARA News, Abdullah Qattab al-Saif, leader of FSA Shield Brigade, said that for the Raqqa operation “50% of gathers are Arabs, and 50% are Kurds”.

Democrats will have platform battle on Israel
[NYTimes] A bitter divide over the Middle East could threaten Democratic Party unity as representatives of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont vowed to upend what they see as the party's lopsided support of Israel.

Two of the senator's appointees to the party's platform drafting committee, Cornel West and James Zogby, on Wednesday denounced Israel's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and said they believed that rank-and-file Democrats no longer hewed to the party's staunch support of the Israeli government.
A pretty strawman by the New York Times journalist. It was never support of a particular government, but of the country.
[a lot of Dem voters are not staunch supporters or even mild supporters of the USA either and that would be an even more interesting platform issue]
They said they would try to get their views incorporated into the platform, the party's statement of core beliefs, at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July.
In 2012 the delegates booed the proposal to put God and Israel back in the platform after some Republicans noticed. This time they won't be forced to pretend they care.

Man arrested on blasphemy charge
[DAWN] Sheikhupura police on Wednesday tossed in the calaboose

a man for allegedly posting "blasphemous" text on social media.

District Police Officer (DPO) Sarfraz Khan Virk told Dawn that some residents of Nabipura locality lodged a complaint with the Factory Area cop shoppe against the suspect, alleging he had posted blasphemous text on a social networking website.

He said police started the paperwork but haven't done much else under the blasphemy law against the suspect who was later arrested.

Initial investigations showed that the blasphemous messages were posted last year by another man, who was now living abroad, the DPO said.

No complaint was filed against the man living abroad, he added.

The DPO said the social media account through which the blasphemous text was posted had been dormant for the last eight to nine months. He said detailed investigation was continuing to verify the account details.

According to sources, police were also looking into a dispute over teasing of girls following which the complaint against the suspect was lodged.

Iraqi forces, militias retake al-Karma from ISIS
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraqi security forces and supporting militias have retaken the key town of Karma from ISIS, the government's first important victory in its battle to reclaim Falluja, a front man for Iraq's Joint Operations Command said Thursday.

The federal police chief in Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
Raed Shakir told Al Arabiya News that the recapture of Karma, about 16 kilometers northeast of Falluja, brings most of the territory east of Falluja under government control, adding that dozens from ISIS members were killed in the operation.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, the spittle had reached unprecedented levels...
Iraq’s top Shiite Muslim holy man urged government and allied Shiite militia forces fighting to retake Fallujah from ISIS forces of Evil to spare trapped civilians amid reports of a budding humanitarian crisis in the city.

Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani’s appeal reflected concerns that a large civilian corpse count in the battle for the mainly Sunni Muslim city could kindle increased sectarian strife in Iraq. The Baghdad government has been led by Shiites since the 2003 fall of Saddam Hussein, a member of the Sunni minority.

Sistani added his voice to many calls for restraint in the battle begun on Monday to retake Fallujah, on Baghdad’s western approaches and the first Iraqi city to fall under the control of the ultra-hardline ISIS group, in January 2014.

"Sayyid Sistani reaffirms his recommendations that the ethics of jihad (Islamic holy war or struggle) be respected," his representative, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, said in a statement.

"Don’t be extreme ... don’t be treacherous. Don’t kill an old man, nor a boy, nor a woman. Don’t cut a tree unless you have to," he said, citing sayings of the Prophet Mohammed.

Aid agencies have become alarmed about civilian suffering in a city that has been under siege for six months, and the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
has urged combatants to protect inhabitants trying to escape the fighting.

ISIS fighters target SDF in Hasaka, Deir ez-Zor
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
on Wednesday captured Tell al-Nuri village in Hasaka province from a tribal rebel faction allied with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), activists said.

The activist Rasid al-Janoubi told Zaman al-Wasl that Isis attacks targeted a location for the Syrian Elite Forces that are subordinate to the former Coalition head Ahmad Jarba. Violent confrontations took place between the Elite Forces and Isis in the area of al-Malihah that lies on the administrative border between Hasaka and Deir ez-Zor next to the town of Abu Khashab in Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The activist added that Isis attack led to the death of 3 members of the Elite Forces and the injury of at least 5 others due to Isis detonating a car carrying explosives in their location on the joint fronts with SDF.

ISIS in a statement said it took control after its fighters attacked an area close to the fields of al-Malihah on the administrative border between al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor, which led to deaths and injuries on the Kurdish side (PYD) indicating the continuation of confrontations between the two sides.

On the other hand, al-Ghad Movement led by Ahmad Jarba, announced on Wednesday the Syrian Elite Forces which are subordinate to Jarba deterred an attack from Isis forces from two axes on the points of connection in Malihah al-Tharou in Deir ez-Zor by circling the Isis fighters and cutting off their supply lines. The movement confirmed the death of 25 members from the attackers and that 6 bodies are in the hands of the Elite Forces.

On its official website, the movement indicated that Isis continues to target their locations with anti-aircraft missiles announcing the death of one of its members and the injury of three others.

In a related context, in the last two days the PYD-led SDF alliance reinforced its advancement in the village of al-Shmeseni north of Markada town with air support by warplanes of the Global Alliance to counter Islamic State, according to local sources.

The same sources stated the start of festivities between Isis and the SDF alliance in the village of Aenad west of the town of Markada, after an attempt by a group of Isis covert operatives to sneak into SDF and its allies’ locations there with the aim of compensating their losses in al-Fadghmy village on the eastern shores of the Khabur river.

The Elite Forces had announced last April that it has control over the villages of Badiyet, Abu Khashab, Malihah al-Tharou, Raja’an, and Oum Madfaa in Deir ez Zor and al-Hasakah, despite the announcement of the SDF of its control over the villages of Oum Madfaa and al-Makman and the media outlets subordinate to PYD broadcasting images and videos from these villages, raising questions about the form of coordination between the two parties.

The Syrian Elite Forces, the military wing of the opposition al-Ghad Movement, participate with the SDF alliance in fronts against ISIS in the south western areas of al-Hasakah, areas which are next to Deir ez- Zor’s north western countryside.

Trump Reaches the Magic Number to Clinch Nomination
[ABCNEWS.GO] Donald Trump reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination for president Thursday, completing an unlikely rise that has upended the political landscape and set the stage for a bitter fall campaign.

Trump was put over the top in the News Agency that Dare Not be Named delegate count by a small number of the party's unbound delegates who told the AP they would support him at the national convention in July. Among them is Oklahoma GOP chairwoman Pam Pollard.

"I think he has touched a part of our electorate that doesn't like where our country is," Pollard said. "I have no problem supporting Mr. Trump."

It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination. Trump has reached 1,238. With 303 delegates at stake in five state primaries on June 7, Trump will easily pad his total, avoiding a contested convention in Cleveland, kept in touch with the world by Obamaphone,

#1  I have never seen the electorate so energized. This is surely a awakening of the silent majority. No contest. The momentum only builds. I only wonder at how large the numbers will be.This will be historic. Meanwhile my liberal friends seem to be in denial. Well educated and not. They live in their own little world but wish to impose their world on all others.

#2  The voters want their country and jobs back. They understand the elites, left to themselves, are never going to give it back. Therefore they are turning to Trump not in the function of a leader but as a wrecking ball.
Well said Dale. But I will tell you most of the DC crowd is in denial, both sides. Some DC "Experts" on FOX last night said Trump does not even have a chance. He is going to win it in spite of the republican party. Imagine if the party fully supported him! For all I care about the republican party, based on their actions this year, I hope he destroys it and starts over.

#4  #2 I understand that desire to start over. With new blood it will. Many young Republicans and those outside the party see a great desire to change. This enthusiasm is contagious. In the time of IKE it was a desire to build. Jobs, family, and country.
Uncertain of Kennedy at first but then he taped that reservoir of hope for the future. Regan came close but the media and elites constantly fought him. Several administrations have been more like Nursing home caretakers. The current administration more like a spoiled wilful child. So the basic formula is sound. Leadership will change everything. The tone will be set from the top. I look for great days ahead. Why, because Trump has built an operation that employees thousands of people with great diversity. Things can go bad very fast because of the abuses and mismanagement so far. He can't do it all. He knows however how to network himself. That is the key. That will produce results that are so necessary at this time and quickly. Enjoy the ride!!.

In the first case, the five men who got the longest terms were convicted of a kaboom in a Shiite-populated village east of Manama in August last year.

The bomb went kaboom! when a police bulldozer was clearing barricades that had been erected by protesters, the source said.

In the second trial, the same court handed out jail terms of between three and 15 years to 14 Shiites convicted of attacking police in Sitra, south of the capital.

They were also found guilty of possessing weapons and explosives, Bahrain state news agency quoted Al Hammadi.

Al-Hammadi said that the Public Prosecution relied in substantiating the charges on testimonies from evidence witnesses, the confessions of the suspects a, and forensic reports.

The suspects were referred to the High Criminal Court, where they stood trial in the presence of their defense lawyers, he added.

The Advocate General confirmed that the defendants had been afforded full legal rights throughout the trial, including the right to appeal the court ruling, as guaranteed by Bahraini law.

IRS boss is just begging to be impeached
[NYPOST] Four years after the IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
hobbled conservative groups by targeting them for extra scrutiny, the agency’s still playing politics.

No wonder Congress is looking to impeach its boss, John Koskinen.

At a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, Republican politicians gave specific reasons for their move: his lies under oath, his flouting of a congressional subpoena -- and his repeated defiance.

Koskinen’s response? Ha! He didn’t even bother to show up.

Koskinen was supposed to "fix" the IRS after the scandal erupted over targeting conservatives. Yet his real purpose seemed to be running interference, covering up information and shielding the agency (and Team Obama) from consequences.

Shockingly, he and his agency are continuing that pattern to this day: A lawsuit filed Monday by the Cause of Action Institute accuses the IRS and its boss of refusing to preserve official business electronic communications, as required by law.

The IRS and Koskinen "have a legal obligation to preserve official work communications between employees," says the group’s president, Alfred Lechner Jr. "It appears the federal records are being deleted because the IRS, in a deal with its employee union, refuses to preserve certain types of electronic communications."

The House hasn’t sought to impeach an executive-branch official other than the president since 1876 (then-Secretary of War William Belknap quit before the proceedings finished), and Koskinen whines such action against him will deter young people from government. But given his behavior, you can’t say he’s not asking for it.

Pakistan confirms Mullah Mansour's death, denies handing over body
[GEO.TV] Pakistain's Foreign Office on Thursday confirmed the killing of Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour in a US drone strike near the Pak-Afghan border last week, but rejected reports that the Taliban leader’s body had been handed over for burial.

Reports had circulated in the media earlier this week that the Taliban leader's body was taken to Afghanistan and that and he was laid to rest in Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan's Kandahar province.

But, addressing a presser at the Foreign Office here today, the PM's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
dismissed those reports, saying Mansour's body was yet to be handed over to anyone.

"According to the Afghan Taliban, Mullah Mansour was traveling under a fake identity," said Sartaj Aziz. "It has been confirmed that it was Mullah Mansour who was killed in the drone strike. We are still waiting for DNA test results of the body, and the body will not be given to anyone until the DNA results are received."

Aziz further said that Mansour's killing had proven to be a setback for talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government, and for peace in the region as a whole.

"Drone strikes have added to the complexity of the Afghan conflict," he said.

Regarding the drone strike, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistain had protested over the attack to the US, and that it was also raising the issue in the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...

New Taliban leader rejects peace talks
[DAWN] The Afghan Taliban on Wednesday acknowledged the death of their emir Mullah Akhtar Mansour and announced the appointment of a holy man with no fighting experience as his successor.

and Mullah Mansour.

In a two-page Pushto-language communiqué released to the media, Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid conceded that Mansour had been killed in a drone strike by the "American tyrant" somewhere "between the border region of deserts of Kandahar and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
’s Nushki" district on Saturday.

The bad boys’ confirmation came four days after it emerged that Mansour had been killed in a drone strike in Nushki while returning from a visit to Iran. A Pak passport and national identity card found at the scene of the attack identified the dear departed as Wali Muhammad, a resident of Qila Abdullah.

US says it has been clear-eyed in talks with Pakistan on militants
For a given value of clear that will be left to the cynical to define...
[DAWN] The United States has been "very clear-eyed" in its interactions with Pakistain on the activities of myrmidon groups based inside the country, says the US State Department.

At a briefing here on Tuesday, Spokesman Mark Toner refused to acknowledge that the United States no longer trusted Pakistain as an ally, but minced no words in conveying US concerns on the alleged presence of certain ’terrorist’ groups in the country.

"We have been very clear-eyed and very clear in our interaction with Pakistain where we’ve believed that they need to do more to root out terrorists, who find safe haven on some of their territory, and we’re going to continue to do that," he said. "I’ll leave it there," he added.

A journalist pointed out that the United States did not warn Pakistain before targeting Taliban leader Mullah Mansour in the Pak territory, which indicated an obvious lack of trust.

"I think what I said just now holds, which is that operational security trumps a need to inform other governments," said Mr Toner.

"In any of these instances, it’s absolutely vital to keep operational security," he added.

The front man said the United States had also "consistently expressed our concern to the highest levels of the government of Pakistain" about their continued tolerance for Afghan Taliban groups, including the Haqqani network.

"We’re going to continue to work with the Pak authorities and a full-faith effort both to give them the tools they need and the capabilities they need to confront this threat," he said.

"And we’re going to also continue to, as we share intelligence and other information with them, to point out we believe that Death Eaters are finding safe haven."

(ISIS) since 2014 after the murderous Moslems overran their communities, according to a recent report compiled by the Kurdish Region.

The report says that nearly all of the children currently reside in camps across the region with no or limited professional treatment.

"We have called on the Kurdish government as well as international donors to take the issue of the orphan children seriously and come to their aid," said Hadi Dobani at the office of the Yezidi Affairs, which was set up by the Kurdish government in the aftermath of ISIS offensive to assist the Yezidi victims.

The majority of the children, some 1,750 of them, have lost their fathers while nearly 470 have lost their mothers and another 350 children lost both their parents.

Dobani says that there are also over 220 children whose parents are still in ISIS captivity and therefore registered as having lost at least one of their parents.

According to the office, of the 6,255 Yezidis who were kidnapped in August 2014, 3,878 are still in ISIS captivity with nearly 1,800 of them being women and kiddies.

The number of the Yezidis killed by the murderous Moslems could be as high as 3,000 but no accurate data is available since many of the victim families have left Iraq and Kurdistan for Europe and it has been increasingly difficult to verify the number of fatalities.

Yemen parties: Prisoner swap before Ramadan
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen’s warring parties have agreed to a prisoner exchange before the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in early June, sources from both delegations told Rooters on Thursday.

The decision was a show of goodwill between the Iran-allied Houthis and Yemen’s Saudi-backed exile government as peace talks in Kuwait aimed at ending a year-long war dragged into a second month. However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the two sides appeared to differ on the number of prisoners to be released.

Sources from the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militia’s delegation said 1,000 prisoners would be swapped, while a government source said the agreement entailed the release of "all detainees," who number more than 4,000.

The sides will submit a list of prisoner requests to UN mediators within two days, after which "local committees" would be created to facilitate the exchanges, the Houthi sources said.

At a news conference earlier in the day, UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed told news hounds officials from the International Committee of the Red Thingy had met with the delegations to explain its possible role in a release process.

A prisoner swap has been a long-sought sign of progress for the talks.

The Grand Turk
67 PKK militants surrender in Turkey's southeast
A total of 67 militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) surrendered to Turkish security forces on May 26 as clashes intensified in two neighborhoods of the southeastern district of Nusaybin despite a statement from the group announcing a redeployment outside the district.

Some 42 PKK militants, including 10 women and 32 men, reportedly surrendered to the authorities on May 26 as operations intensified in Nusaybin’s Fırat and Yenişehir neighborhoods.

The militants surrendered following repeated calls from security forces, reports said, adding that a total 10 were injured. The wounded militants were brought to Nusaybin State Hospital for treatment.

The surrender on May 26 was the highest number of PKK militants to yield to security forces in the district, just a day after 25 militants surrendered on May 24.

Among those to surrender was a young woman, Zehra K., whose diary was found by security forces just a few days ago. The diary included notes allegedly admitting it was a mistake to join the PKK. The woman’s remarks were made public in a video released by the Turkish Armed Forces on May 25, whereby she claimed the PKK forced her to fight against the Turkish state.

“My biggest mistake was to be fooled by the PKK because the PKK is burning both the Republic of Turkey and the Kurdish nation. So what I want to say to young people is that the organization [PKK] forced me into this but what I understand [now] is that they should take refuge in the state,” she is heard saying in another video, which shows her meeting her parents.

“Personally I did not have any hope. We surrendered ourselves; if it was me I would fire bullets, but the state opened its arms to us even in a process like this, even in an environment like this. The state gave me every chance and never forced me to do anything. They treated me as best as they can. They treated me in a way they should not,” she said.
Nice propaganda. Almost as good as the Rooshuns...
Reports of surrendering militants were followed by a statement from the PKK, saying it had withdrawn and only unarmed civilians were left in the district.

The statement reportedly said the militants had to reposition themselves in the face of the security operations and decided to withdraw from Nusaybin. However, security sources said the announcement would not lead to a cessation of operations as improvised explosive devices previously placed by the PKK were still in place across the district.

“Operations need to continue to clear the district of these [explosives] and to ensure an environment where civilians can safely live,” the security forces said.

Some 125 to 130 militants are still believed to be in the area, according to reports by Cihan News Agency.

province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the Arclight airstrikes were carried out in Kot and Achin districts of Nangarhar by the Afghan Air Force.

A statement by MoD said at least 8 bandidos holy warriors were killed in the air raids and a top commander of the terror group identified as Mullah Bozorg has likely been killed as well.

The anti-government armed hard boy groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.

The loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group are actively operating in a number of the remote districts of Nangarhar province where they often launch terrorist attacks.

Achin and Kot districts are in particular the hotbed of the holy warriors of ISIS terrorist groups where they initially launched their operations from.

In the meantime, the Afghan National Security Forces have stepped up attacks against the bandidos holy warriors operating in Nangarhar, including the Taliban and ISIS groups to suppress their insurgency activities.

The US forces also increased their attacks against the loyalists of ISIS group during the recent months which followed amid concerns that the terror group is attempting to establish a regional operational base and consolidate operations with the terror group in Syria and Iraq.

Gun Violence at Bernie Sanders Supporter’s Concert
[FREEBEACON] A New York City concert by Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
supporter T.I. turned violent before the rapper even got on stage as gunshots killed one and injured three, according to reports.

The incident started backstage where the rappers performing in acts before T.I. were gathered but spread onto the main stage causing panic at the concert venue, according to the New York Post.

The carnage began in the green room of the Union Square venue at about 10 p.m. while the opening act -- rappers Maino and Uncle Murda -- were performing, according to law-enforcement sources.

The gunplay then spilled into the area near the stage, causing panic among more than 1,000 rap fans packed into the music hall. [...]

The mayhem began after a fight erupted in a limited-access section on the seventh floor -- before spreading to the second floor, where the shooting took place outside the green room, a police source said.

The Beatings Will Continue: Mosul and Raqqa Edition
ISIS executes 8 in Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in Nineveh Province announced on Thursday killing five members of the so-called ISIS by an artillery shelling in Bashiqa northeast of Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad), while pointed out that ISIS executed eight of its fighters for not joining the combat axes in the city center.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan spokesman in Mosul, Ghyath Alsurja, said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The artillery of the Peshmerga forces that were stationed on Bashiqa Mountain north of Mosul targeted ISIS gathering in the district.”

Alsurja added, “The bombing resulted in the killing of five members of the so-called ISIS, as well as destructing two military vehicles,” indicating that, “ISIS executed eight of its members in Nineveh Province on charges of not joining the combat axes.”

“The death sentence was carried out by firing squad in the old jail in Nineveh,” Alsurja continued.

Islamic State using civilians as human shields in Raqqa

[ARA News] RAQQA – Radical group of the Islamic State (ISIS) is using civilians as human shields in Syria’s northeastern Raqqa province, in a bid to impede the ongoing progress by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), activists reported on Thursday.

Backed by the US-led coalition’s air cover, the SDF has been advancing against ISIS militants in the northern countryside of Raqqa province over the past few days.

“ISIS has forced hundreds of civilians to stay inside buildings in central Raqqa that used to be security centres for the radical group. Many people are locked inside those locations,” local sources told ARA News in Raqqa, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Several buildings of al-Hisba police and Sharia institutions have been filled with civilians in Raqqa city, according to media activist Salman al-Hamwi.

“The main goal is that the SDF-led shelling and US-led airstrikes kill as much civilians as possible. ISIS is trying to increase the civilian casualties to claim that the western-backed SDF are targeting peaceful people,” al-Hamwi told ARA News.

Also, in the villages of Tal Shahin, al-Adriya and Mlehan north of Raqqa civilians were prevented from escaping their houses.

“Hundreds of villagers in Mlehan, Tal Shahin and al-Adriya are held hostage by ISIS militants, who are engaged in clashes with SDF forces in the vicinity of those villages,” SDF officer Habun Osman told ARA News on the phone.

“We are aware of such barbaric tactics by ISIS terrorists. We’re trying to avoid using heavy weapons at such fronts to prevent civilian casualties,” he added.

On Wednesday, the Kurdish-led SDF alliance recaptured four villages and towns in northern Raqqa–the de facto capital of the Islamic State. Subsequent to clashes with ISIS militant fighters, the SDF alliance liberated the villages of Qartaja, al-Fastah, Indebin and Matmasraja.

“The battle for northern Raqqa has started, and our advance will continue until we cleanse the entire province from ISIS,” Osman said.

The western-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday afternoon launched an operation to capture the countryside of Raqqa from the Islamic State (ISIS) group.

“Cleansing these territories from ISIS starts now from the north of Raqqa,” Kurdish Defence Minister of the Rojava Auto-Administration told ARA News in Kobane.

Army foils major infiltration bid, 3 militants killed
[Daily Excelsior] Army today foiled a major infiltration attempt in North Kashmire’s Nowgam sector and killed three Death Eaters so far while operation against other members of the group is going on.

A senior Police officer said that three Death Eaters were killed in encounter at Nowgam sector of Handwara in North Kashmire’s Kupwara district today. He said that Army’s 35 RR intercepted a group of five to six infiltrators this morning near Toot Mari Gali (TMG) sector also called Nowgam sector.

Sources said that the bully boy group had infiltrated last night and crossed the fence but they were intercepted after army noticed the suspicious movement in the forest area.

The group of Death Eaters after being challenged opened fire triggering an encounter. "Two Death Eaters have been killed during the initial exchange of firefight", sources said, adding that the remaining members of the group later hide themselves inside the dense bushes of the nearby Marsari area.

The Army with the help of sniffer dogs and the joint team of security forces again intercepted the remaining members of the group and later engaged them in a shootout. "In the encounter one more bully boy was killed", he said, adding that the cordon-and-search operation in the area is still going on to track down the other members of the group.

"All the three bully boy bodies have been recovered along with as many AK-47 rifles and other war like stores", he said.

Earlier, additional reinforcement of 18 JAT and Ist Naga was rushed to the area for assisting the Army in the operation.

In the meantime, security forces today launched a cordon-and-search operation in Harwan area of Srinagar.

A police official said that SOG and Army’s 5 RR launched a search operation after receiving an input about the presence of Death Eaters in Dhara belt of Harwan.

"Security forces conducted extensive searches in the area for about over one hour but there was no contact with bully boys," he said, adding that the operation was later called off.

Militants this evening hurled a grenade on Army’s 50 RR at Kakpora in Pulwama district of South Kashmire. An Army cook was injured in the grenade attack.

Army immediately launched a massive operation against the Death Eaters responsible for the grenade attack. However,

Elderly Christian woman stripped naked and paraded through streets by mob
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] A 70-year-old Christian woman has been stripped naked, beaten and paraded through the streets by a mob of around 300 Muslim men in a village in southern Egypt.

The mob also burned down seven homes belonging to Christian families, according to an unusually outspoken statement issued by the local Orthodox Coptic church, after rumours circulated in the village that a Christian man was having a relationship with a Muslim woman.

The violence started at around 8pm on 20 May, and the local diocese said it was two hours before police responded, by which point the mob had already dispersed.

The woman who was stripped naked was reported to be the mother of the man involved in the rumoured affair. She has since met with church leaders, the Diocese of Minya and Abu Qirqas said.

The violence is representative of the tensions between the two religions in the province south of Cairo, where extra-marital affairs between Muslims and Christians are strictly taboo.

Egyptian president vows justice after Muslims attack Christian woman

[IsraelTimes] Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi has called for the culprits behind a Muslim mob that attacked an elderly Christian woman and ransacked homes to be held accountable and gave the military a month to restore property damaged during the violence, at no cost to the owners.

Police have tossed in the slammer
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
six men suspected of taking part in the violence and are looking for 12 more, the security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

In a statement issued by his office, Sissi says Egypt appreciates the role of "glorious Egyptian women" and that "the rights and the protection of their dignity are a humanitarian and patriotic commitment as well as a legal and constitutional one."

Anba Makarios, Minya’s top Christian holy man, told a talk show host on the private Dream TV network that the 70-year-old woman was dragged out of her home by the mob who beat her and insulted her before they stripped her off her clothes and forced her to walk through the streets as they chanted Allahu Akbar, or "God is great."
Of course they did, because belonging to the Master Religion means they can.
The woman reported the incident to the police five days later, said Makarios, adding that she had initially found it too difficult to "swallow the humiliation" she suffered and go to the police.
Oddly enough, the police completely missed the torchlight parade and burning buildings, or assuredly they would have done something about it.
Update from another Times of Israel article at 1:00 a.m. ET:
Police arrived at the scene nearly two hours after the attacks began and tossed in the slammer
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
six people, according to the statement by Minya’s top holy man, Anba Makarios. He said the family of the Christian man had notified the police of threats against them by Muslim villagers the day before the attack.

"No one did anything and the police took no preemptive or security measures in anticipation of the attacks," he told a television interviewer Wednesday night.
Update from Al Ahram at 12:40 pm ET: Five more arrested. So only about 289 Master Religionists remain free.

Iraq
Erbil expects 200k to 900k IDPs to flee Fallujah and Mosul, seek shelter in KRG
[RUDAW.NET] Erbil provincial authorities suggested that an estimated 200,000 to 900,000 refugees are expected to flee war zone areas in Iraq, including recently embattled Fallujah and djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
. But so far there has been no preparation to host newly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) due to lack of cooperation between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

"We suggest that 200,000 to 900,000 IDPs will flee to Erbil, and two places have been designated to take in refugees once the battle for Mosul has resumed," Tahir Abdullah deputy governor of Erbil told Rudaw on the TV program Niwroj.

(ISIS) two years after the group captured the Sunni city.

The Kurdish-majority Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) coalition group announced on Tuesday that it was launching an offensive against ISIS in Raqqa.

Abdullah also talked about preparation for a possible influx of refugees to southern Kurdistan, or Kurdistan Region, with the beginning of massive military operations against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Raqqa in Syria and Fallujah in Iraq and he criticized the Iraqi government because they have not launched serious negotiations with the KRG.

"The Iraqi government has not begun serious cooperation with the KRG, and even a budget of $32 million Baghdad itself allocated to help refugee camps in Erbil in 2014, only a sum of $15 million was spent to build a camp, and the rest has not been spent yet," Abdulla explained.

The Iraqi Immigration Ministry had allocated $32 million to Erbil province for refugee camps but transferred just $15 million, while Sulaimani province received the full $20 million of the budget it was allocated for refugee camps. "I hope there were no political factors behind this," said Abdullah.

The Kurdistan Regional Government claims that internally displaced persons (IDPs) now make up 35 percent of the current population of the Kurdistan Region.

Ahmadi man gunned down in Karachi
[DAWN] KARACHI: A member of the Jamaat Ahmadiyya was bumped off in a suspected assassination in the Metroville-II area early on Wednesday morning, according to Mubina Town police and party officials.

Dawood Ahmad, 55, was sitting outside his home with a friend, Shamsher, because of an electricity breakdown in the area, when two gunnies on a cycle of violence opened fire on them as they rode by, said Gulshan SP Dr Fahad Ahmed.

The victim sustained five bullet wounds to different parts of the body and was taken to a private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries during treatment. Shamsher was hit in the leg and was in a stable condition. "It appeared to be an incident of assassination'>assassination," said the SP.

"Dawood Ahmed was targeted on account of religious hatred. Thirty Ahmadis have been killed in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
and not a single murderer has been brought to justice till now, making Lion of Islam elements feel encouraged," said Saleemuddin, a front man for the Jamaat Ahmadiyya in a statement.

He said that certain elements were involved in baseless propaganda against the Ahmadis, which he believed was a ’basic reason’ for such grievous incidents.

The front man said the government had announced that action would be taken against hate promoters under the National Action Plan but the elements who promoted hate against Ahmadis were not only free but were busy spreading their hateful propaganda openly and without any fear. He demanded arrest of the culprits.

"The arrested forces of Evil came to Balochistan to carry out assassination'>assassinations and kabooms," said Bugti while addressing a presser.

CNIC re-verification
[DAWN] IT is a monumental folly and possibly sinister in intent too. By his own admission, Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan does not know much, or indeed anything at all, about the CNIC and passport that allegedly belonged to assassinated Afghan Taliban leader Akhtar Mansour and that may have been recovered from the site of the drone attack. But the facts-free interior minister wants to plunge headlong into an administrative exercise of staggering proportions to supposedly re-verify all CNICs issued by Nadra. So critical is the task, according to Chaudhry Nisar, that he has given his lieutenants in the interior ministry just 48 hours to draw up a plan for the unprecedented project. Nothing, it seems, will stand between the interior minister and his quest for a fool-proof registration system. Nothing except for perhaps the facts themselves.

At every level of Chaudhry Nisar’s pronouncements since the Mullah Mansour killing there have been questions. For one, the interior minister has casually admitted to comprehensive corruption in the ranks of Nadra. This after three years of him heading the interior ministry and lecturing the country at every opportunity along the way on the ’great’ reforms he has implemented during his tenure. So, why is corruption still so endemic in Nadra? The admission of corruption means the proposed purge of fake or unverifiable CNICs will also be flawed. Why should Nadra staff be expected to fix the problem of false identities when it is itself the reason the problem exists in the first place? Finally, how would a re-verification drive, no matter how elaborately conducted, address the problem of the state itself providing false identities to Afghan Taliban leaders? Among the various possibilities of how Mullah Mansour came to be in possession of a Pak passport and identity card, it is entirely likely that he was provided these as part of the sanctuary that Afghan Taliban leaders enjoy in Pakistain. Will Nadra realistically have the power to cancel such documents?

Perhaps most troubling in the interior minister’s decision is the scale of disruption it may cause in the country. The re-verification exercise could easily unravel into a farce and little more than a petty extortion project, especially given the power of a CNIC and the relative ease with which individuals can be harassed by Nadra. Misdeeds of Nadra officials could also trigger inter-provincial spats and ethnic tensions if migrant communities in urban centres are pressed by Nadra officials for documents they do not posses or that are only available in their native districts. So, rather than harass or inconvenience peaceful, law-abiding citizens of the country and cause major disruption nationally, here is a better idea for the interior minister: devote some of the interior ministry’s resources to determining how Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
, Mullah Mansour and, now, Haibatullah Akhunzada came to take up residence in Pakistain.
