There was a giant fireball in the sky on the outskirts of Tehran a couple of days ago. Now this, could it be another Stuxnet happening before our very eyes and ears?
[TTAG] We missed this when it happened last week. This video was from a protest that took place in Florissant, Missouri (a St. Louis suburb just north of Ferguson in St. Louis County).
An open carrying protestor (perfectly legal in Missouri) obviously didn’t know enough to keep his finger off the trigger, let alone engage the safety on his AR pistol. When he touched off a negligent discharge with a large crowd around him, the round went through his right foot.

At my age a negligent discharge is when I forget and try to fart. Half the time it would go through a screen door. I never wear light pants anymore.

'There has been no justice for my nieces who are devastated. In this case the rapist saw my mother collapse from the shock and horror but carried on. Where is the humanity?'
"Humanity"...? Perhaps an incorrect term of reference.
A 20-year-old man was killed and two others injured in a targeted shooting Monday afternoon outside an Amazon warehouse in Jacksonville, Florida.
Two other men, ages 22 and 29, suffered graze wounds, says the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, which is now searching for two suspects who fled in a silver car
Authorities say a third suspect, possibly the getaway car driver, is also wanted in connection with shooting which happened about 2pm
The victim, who has not been identified, was standing with about six other people waiting to file an application for work
Officials said two Black male suspects in their 20s got out of a silver car, started shooting and then sped off.
The man fatally shot was believed to have been known by the shooters, says Assistant Chief Brian Kee of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

[South China Morning Post] - China has approved military use of an experimental coronavirus vaccine developed by the People’s Liberation Army and a Chinese pharmaceutical company, in a first for the armed forces of any country.
The vaccine, identified as Ad5-nCoV, was jointly developed by a team at the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, led by Major General Chen Wei, and Tianjin-based company CanSino Biologics.
It is the first time that a vaccine candidate for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, has been authorised for use for the military of any nation.
CanSino said on Monday that the candidate had been through two phases of clinical trials, which indicated it was safe and there was "relatively high" immune response to the antigen. Well, they did have a head start
Given that it’s Chinese research, the odds that it is actively harmful rather than neutral or beneficial go up significantly.
[DanielGreenfield] Boston and Dallas have one each. New York City has not one, but two Malcolm X boulevards, along with a playground. Washington D.C. has Malcolm X Avenue. The Los Angeles City Council renamed the intersection near the Bilal Islamic Center, Malcolm X Way.
These are a few of the hundreds of streets, schools, and assorted other civic infrastructure named after the black supremacist leader who worked together with the KKK and the American Nazi Party.
“I sat at the table myself with the heads of the Ku Klux Klan,” Malcolm X later admitted.
The Postal Service even came out with a stamp for a racial separatist who campaigned for a separate black country, and against racial intermarriage.
"Check up on these integration leaders, and you will find that most of them are either married to or hooked up with some white woman," Malcolm X ranted. “No black person married to a white person can speak for me!"
These racist beliefs made Malcolm X a natural ally of the KKK in fighting against civil rights.
In 1961, Malcolm X met with members of the Klu Klux Klan in Atlanta to work together on an alliance against the civil rights movement. The meeting was the result of secret diplomacy between Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad and Klan leader J.B. Stoner who would later be convicted of the bombing of the Bethel Baptist Church in Birmingham. While Muhammad and Stoner put on a public show of attacking each other to increase their stature, behind the scenes the NOI and KKK were allies.
Even as Klansmen bombed black churches like Bethel, they would leave the NOI’s mosques alone.
While Malcolm X would later blame this “conspiracy” on Elijah Muhammad, the NOI leader, the former Malcolm Little was a child of Marcus Garvey’s Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) which had previously allied with the Klan and praised Hitler.
“Between the Klu Klux Klan and the NAACP group, give me the Klan,” Garvey had once said.
Alliances between white supremacists and black supremacists would continue under Louis Farrakhan’s leadership of the Nation of Islam. These racist alliances now date back for at least a century.
Malcolm X and his Klan counterparts both agreed that there was a superior race that would defeat the inferior race. They both saw integrationists as their enemies and blamed the Jews for everything.
“The Jew is behind the integration movement, using the Negro as a tool,” Malcolm X told the KKK.
The man now honored as a civil rights leader also suggested that the Klan kill white civil rights activists, or as Malcolm X called them, “traitors who assisted integration leaders”
While Malcolm X’s meeting with the KKK was briefly kept secret (though at least one of Little’s fellow Nation of Islam ministers had participated in a Klan rally), his flirtation with the American Nazi Party became very public that same year when Malcolm X delivered a racial separatist speech to an audience that included George Lincoln Rockwell and other members of his American Nazi Party.
Malcolm X introduced George Lincoln Rockwell, the leader of the American Nazi Party, on stage, led a round of applause for the Neo-Nazi leader, and called him, “Mr. Rockwell.”
Behind the scenes, the NOI and ANP had worked out an agreement of “mutual assistance”.
Some will protest that Malcolm X rejected his racist views when he traded in the Nation of Islam and adopted mainstream Islam. And yet we are told that we must judge every historical figure, every statue and street name now being denounced as racist, for their worst moments, not their best ones.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani posted an emotional reaction to current events in New York City. Data-driven policing was one of the key tools he used to transform New York City from a dangerous and economically depressed city to a destination that drew business, tourism, and entertainment. He is now watching the police force that was critical to securing and improving the city being demoralized and destroyed.
The trends Guiliani identified, related to the horrible leadership of Mayor Bill de Blasio, are starting to become obvious to everyone. The demoralization of the police department actually started several years ago. It first came to a head in 2014 following the assassination of officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos. There was such disdain for the mayor and his comments about law enforcement that preceded the shooting that hundreds of officers turned their backs on him at the officers’ funerals.
While never fully repaired, an uneasy truce had evolved between the NYPD and the mayor. That all changed with the moral panic that ravaged cities nationwide in the last several weeks. While de Blasio has indicated he will be reducing funding for the NYPD in the budget due on June 30, his leadership and rhetoric during the recent riots are already having disastrous results.

Cloward-Piven on morale. just make it so difficult and dangerous that no one in their right mind would want to pursue the career.
in some respects, that's what the entire Deep State is attempting in regards to Trump, and in general any non-deep-state-owned politician.
Who needs the bother? The fact that Trump has not just walked away and seems to actually be thriving is amazing. He is much more a patriot than any of the turds in Congress.

[JPost] - As data on this renewed wave of coronavirus is starting to be analyzed, it appears that the average ages of people being infected in Israel and around the world are slightly younger than they were in the spring. Experts explain that this is likely because young people are more social and less likely to adhere to recommendations and also because more testing is being carried out.
In Israel, according to Sheba Medical Center’s Dr. Eyal Zimlichman, the average age of people being infected is now around 40.
This trend can also be seen in the United States, as noted by scientists at the World Health Organization. Recent data from Florida, Texas and Arizona — states that continue to have high rates of infection — indicate a sharp rise in patients aged 40 and younger.
In Florida, specifically, the median age for coronavirus patients dropped from 65 at the beginning of March to 36 last week, according to the Florida Department of Health. In South Florida’s Broward County, the median age of infection was even younger, at 33, the Sun Sentinel reported. But it was higher in Miami-Dade (41) and Palm Beach (40).
However, the virus has not changed, scientists told The Jerusalem Post. Rather, the behavior of young people has shifted as restrictions were lifted, and they are putting themselves and the rest of the public at risk.
"The young people are not taking precautions," said Dr. Rivka Abulafia-Lapid, a Hebrew University of Jerusalem expert in microbiology, immunology and viruses. "They are not wearing masks or [being] careful about hygiene and social distancing — and this virus is very contagious."
She said she sees young people in restaurants, cafes and clubs pretending as if the virus has gone away.
...Moreover, Abulafia-Lapid said while in most cases young people are correct that they will not become sick from coronavirus — overall, as many as 80% of people who are infected are asymptomatic or develop only mild symptoms — this is not always the case.
"Younger people can also develop the disease, COVID-19, and have harsh symptoms," she noted. "We don’t always know what [underlying medical conditions] we have in our bodies, and we don’t always know what will happen when the virus enters our bodies."
According to Abulafia-Lapid, around 5% to 10% of people below the age of 55 who contract COVID-19 develop a serious case.
Moreover, recent studies show that there can be aftereffects of even mild cases of coronavirus for months to come. A study released this week by Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center showed that more than half of patients diagnosed with coronavirus exhibit general weakness and respiratory distress several weeks after recovery whether they had a mild, moderate or serious case of the disease. Anybody with two brain cells to shake together would've realized that the Chinese would not lockdown one of their most important industrial centers if CV19 was only dangerous to old people. But, instead, people listened to what they wanted to hear.
Additionally, there have been multiple cases of children and teens in Israel and around the world who require admission to intensive-care units with a multisystem inflammatory condition following recovery from the virus. This phenomenon is now being referred to as pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2, or PIMS-TS in short. Time to get serious. My suggestion is perfectly Libertarian. People shouldn't be forced to wear masks and abide by quarantine rules. They should, instead, sign a waiver: "I give up my rights to medical treatment in case of contacting SARS-CoV-2".

[Jpost] Islamist bandidoshard boyz have kidnapped four aid workers and a private security worker in northeast Nigeria ... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border... , the hostages said in a video seen by Rooters on Monday.
The hostages identified themselves and said they each worked for different organizations. With just their heads and shoulders showing against leafy plants outdoors, they named large aid groups Action Against Hunger, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and REACH.
"I am appealing to the International Rescue Committee to come and rescue me," said one of the hostages, who gave his name as Luka Filibus.
The incident underscores the increasing risk for aid workers in northeast Nigeria, where a decade-long conflict with Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... and Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... 's regional ally has fuelled one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
The abduction is also a sign of how dangerous the region has become since Nigeria's military withdrew into garrison towns they call "super camps", leaving previously safe major roads, much of the countryside and smaller towns unprotected.
Nigeria's army has this year touted major victories against the holy warriors, but recent attacks and the abductions undermine the claims.
While the hostages did not name Islamic State or Boko Haram, they referred to their captors as soldiers of the "khalifa". Previously, captives have used the term to refer to Islamic State West Africa Province, rather than Boko Haram.

HAVANA (Reuters) - In the courtyard of a temple belonging to the Abakua Afro-Cuban religious brotherhood in Havana, Nelson Piloto is pulling up the lawn to plant bell peppers and cassava in the face of Cuba’s looming food crisis.
Piloto, 40, says he is responding to the Communist government’s call for citizens to produce more of their own food, including in big cities, in whatever spaces they can find, from backyards to balconies.
Standing across from two giant ceiba trees that are considered sacred by many in Cuba, the temple usually resounds with ceremonies involving drumming, animal sacrifices and dance. But it sits empty now due to coronavirus lockdown restrictions on gatherings.
"I’m making the most of the earth," said Piloto, leaning on his hoe.
Food security has lately risen to the top of the national agenda in Cuba, with countless news headlines and televised roundtable discussions dedicated to the topic.

In the 1970 election [in Chili], Salvador Allende of the Socialist Party of Chile (then part of the "Popular Unity" coalition which included the Communists, Radicals, Social-Democrats, dissident Christian Democrats, the Popular Unitary Action Movement, and the Independent Popular Action became the leader of Chili.
A friend fled Chili during this time and came to the U.S.. He said the Allende government appropriated the large farms and ranches and divided up the land into smaller parcels and gave these to the peasants who worked the larger farms/ranches. The livestock, poultry and hogs were also divided up. He said that the newly minted small farm owners didn’t grow enough to sustain themselves or the livestock and chickens. They ate the seed corn and feed. They ended up eating all the livestock and poultry and the small farms went fallow and they had nothing to eat.
It would be like if Antifa/BLM tried to sustain themselves in CHOP.

Also cited were his statements from a recent Tulsa rally that "a very tough hombre is breaking into the window of a young woman whose husband is away."
Also Reddit on Monday said it yanked a forum used by supporters of President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...

"r/The_Donald" was among some 2,000 forums or "subreddits" banned as tightening of rules at the news-focused social website, Reddit said.
The move comes with online platforms facing pressure to crack down on hateful content, including from the president, amid a broad movement to address racial equity in the wake of police killings of African-Americans.
Trump has complained that Silicon Valley platforms are biased against conservatives, despite his own large social media following.
[IsraelTimes] Belgian Jewish group files incitement to violence complaint over incident at protest against West Bank annexation.
Dozens of protesters at a pro-Paleostinian demonstration in Brussels chanted the name of a locale where Moslems massacred Jews in the seventh century.
The Arabic chants about Khaybar, located in modern-day Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... , were filmed at a rally Sunday in the Belgian capital against Israel’s plan to apply its civilian laws on parts of the West Bank.
"Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning," at least 100 men chanted, according to the Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism, or LBCA.
That’s incitement to violence, the LBCA’s president, Joel Rubinfeld, told the Belga news agency.
"They’re referencing a historic event in which Jews were exterminated and reduced to slaves," he said.
LBCA has filed a complaint with police for incitement to violence against those filmed shouting the slogan.
The rally’s organizers, a nonprofit called the Belgo-Paleostinian Association, condemned the chanting in a statement.
My Google Translate may be a bit rusty, but this sure does sound like the Russians are considering a hit-to-kill test of Nudol to demonstrate that it works: https://t.co/2x2xSvAdYk
It is possible that the kinetic interceptor will also be the final stage of the Nudol missile.
Nudol will be a classic dueling version of a long-range intercept missile defense system. There is reason to believe that the following three circumstances were taken into account in the tactical and technical task for the development of a new system.
Firstly, the new system should be capable of non-nuclear interception, since the previously developed anti-missiles were mainly with a special warhead, which sharply reduced the scope of their possible use. The use of a missile with a special charge actually means the beginning of a nuclear war.
Secondly, the system must be transportable, that is, not tied to any object or center. Most likely, Nudol has the ability to transport and deploy in a theater of operations and is located on multi-axle wheeled conveyors.
Thirdly, the system must ensure the interception of a ballistic target or spacecraft at an altitude of at least 500-750 km and at least 700-800 km in range, that is, in near space. In other words, Nudol must have the ability to destroy low-orbit spacecraft.

[PJ] The "last decade," notes James Sinkinson in a perceptive article, has seen a "sea change" in Israel’s ties with "key Arab states."
And that last decade is also the one in which Benjamin Netanyahu (again, after a stint in the 1990s) has been Israel’s prime minister — specifically since March 2009.
True, conditions for enhanced Arab-Israeli ties have been propitious — particularly the behavior of regional bully Iran, a common enemy; the Obama administration’s courting of Iran and signing of a nuclear deal with it that scared the wits out of both Israelis and Arabs; and the Trump administration’s ambivalence about the U.S. role in the Middle East. Sunni radicalism in the form of ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, and others is another common enemy of Israel and Arab states.
Added to that are Israel’s ever-intensifying military activity against Iran, particularly in Syria, which Arab governments watch with approval, along with Israel’s dramatically growing military, economic, technological, and diplomatic clout in general, to the point that in 2019 US News and World Report ranked it — despite how tiny it is — the world’s eighth most powerful country.
But ripe conditions are one thing; the ability to convert them into results is another. And the repeatedly reelected Netanyahu is little less than a diplomatic genius, under whose tenure Israel’s ties have surged not only with Arab states but also with India, China, Russia, as well as East European, African, and South American countries — basically in every niche of the world.
[Defense News] The U.S. would be able to buy Turkey’s Russian-made S-400 air defense system under legislation proposed in the Senate last week. The proposal is one powerful lawmaker’s attempt to alleviate the impasse between Washington and Ankara over the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
Senate Majority Whip John Thune, R-S.D., has proposed an amendment to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act that would allow the purchase to be made using the U.S. Army’s missile procurement account. The move comes a year after the U.S. expelled NATO ally Turkey from the multinational F-35 program because it received the S-400 in a $2.5 billion deal.
However, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch, R-Idaho, has introduced an amendment that would take a tougher stance, mandating the Trump administration implement CAATSA sanctions on Turkey within 30 days of passage of the NDAA. Risch has been critical of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and accused him of bad faith in dealings with the U.S. over the S-400.
The U.S. routinely buys foreign technology and could both exploit the S-400′s technology and test U.S. tactics, said Jim Townsend, a former Pentagon official for European and NATO policy. If Turkey doesn’t go for the idea, he said, the two countries are still stuck.
“I think the US buying the S-400s from Turkey is a clever way of getting Erdogan out of the jam he put himself in,” Townsend said. “We just want to get the system out of Turkey ... and if it enables the Turks to take part in the F-35 then all the better.”
DESOTO, Kan. (AP) — Merck Animal Health said Monday it plans to invest $100 million to expand and enhance its manufacturing facility in DeSoto, Kansas.
The company, a division of Merck & Co. based in Kenilworth, New Jersey, said in a news release that it plans a technology expansion of its vaccine production facility this year plus an additional $66 million investment in the coming years.
The site develops vaccines for swine, cattle and horses.
Gov. Laura Kelly said Merck Animal Health continues to be a strong source of innovation and growth in Kansas and are a leading force in vaccine production and research.
"The upgrades to these facilities will lead to more advancements in animal health and reinforce the importance of supporting biotechnology companies in the state," Kelly said.
Pamela Stoops, executive director for the company’s DeSoto operations, said the capital improvements and expansion in its manufacturing capabilities strengthens the company’s footprint in the state and increases its ability to fulfill customer demand.

Dendritic cells (DCs) Dendritic cells have the broadest range of antigen presentation and are necessary for activation of naive T cells.[1] DCs present antigen to both helper and cytotoxic T cells. They can also perform cross-presentation, a process by which they present exogenous antigen on MHC class I molecules to cytotoxic T cells. Cross-presentation allows for the activation of these T cells.[2]
In short, you have DC primed with specific antigen - no matter which, you have immune response & (maybe) immune memory.

[KhaamaPress] The Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... group released 21 more prisoners of the Afghan government as part of the ongoing prisoners’ release program aimed at aiding the grinding of the peace processor.
"Today, a total of 21 soldiers and coppers of the Kabul Administration were released from a prison of the Islamic Emirate in Takhar province and sent to their families after giving them the usual package of assistance," Suhail Shaheen, a spokesperson for the Taliban group said.
The Afghan government started the release of Taliban weeks after the Taliban group signed a peace deal with Taliban in a bid to help kick start the intra-Afghan talks.
However, if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... a series of attacks in Kabul disturbed the release of prisoners until the Taliban group announced a ceasefire on the occasion of Eid which was widely welcomed with the Afghan government vowing to expedite the release of prisoners.
The Afghan government released close to 3,000 prisoners of Taliban as of 31st May, according to Shaheen.
[ToloNews] At least four security forces were killed in a Taliban ...Arabic for students... attack in western Ghor province on Sunday night, local officials said Monday.
The festivities took place in Firozkoh city after the Taliban attacked security checkpoints, said Aref Aber, a front man for provincial governor, adding that two other security forces were maimed in the attack.
"The Taliban have also suffered casualties in the festivities but there is no exact information yet," said Aber.
However, a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... the Taliban have not yet commented on the attack.
[KhaamaPress] An Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... targeted the shadow deputy defense minister of Taliban ...Arabic for students... and several other big shots of the group in northern Sar-e Pul province.
The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the security forces targeted a large gathering of Taliban leaders in Suzma Qala district.
The statement further added that the security forces conducted the airstrike in Kata Qala Village.
According to 209th Shaheen Corps, Mullah Muzamil, the shadow deputy defense of Taliban was also present when the gathering was targeted.
The Taliban group has not commented regarding the airstrike so far and it was not clear if Muzamil was killed in the airstrike or not.
[AlAhram] The United States said Monday it was ending the export of sensitive military items to Hong Kong, no longer treating the financial hub separately from China.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States was taking the measure due to China's push forward with a security law that Hong Kong activists say will curb the city's freedoms.
"We can no longer distinguish between the export of controlled items to Hong Kong or to mainland China," Pompeo said in a statement.
"We cannot risk these items falling into the hands of the People's Liberation Army, whose primary purpose is to uphold the dictatorship of the CCP by any means necessary," he said, referring to the Chinese Communist Party.
The State Department will end all exports to Hong Kong on its controlled list -- items ranging from advanced ammunition to military hardware that already need the green light from the administration and Congress.
The Commerce Department in turn will stop making a distinction between Hong Kong and China on so-called dual-use US products, which have both military and civilian applications -- and are highly restricted when sought by Beijing.
Pompeo announced the decision hours after China in turn restricted visas to some Americans for Hong Kong.
The United States has been leading global outrage over a proposed security law, which would outlaw subversion and other perceived offenses in Hong Kong, to which Beijing promised autonomy before it was handed back the territory from Britannia in 1997.
"It gives us no pleasure to take this action, which is a direct consequence of Beijing's decision to violate its own commitments under the UN-registered Sino-British Joint Declaration," Pompeo said.
[ToloNews] At least 23 non-combatants were killed after four rockets hit a festival being held at a market in Sangin district in Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province on Monday morning, the provincial governor’s office said in a statement.
The statement added that 15 other civilians were maimed in the earth-shattering kabooms.
The incident happened in the Zol Bazar area and the rockets were fired by holy warriors, followed by a boom-mobile explosion, the statement read.
According to the statement, the boom-mobile explosion happened in a nearby place among people’s houses where explosives and rockets were made in collaboration with "foreign terrorists."
Two Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters were killed in the boom-mobile blast, said the statement, adding that the boom-mobile has also injured civilians — which is not confirmed yet — and has damaged people’s houses.
The statement denied reports that the rockets were fired by Afghan forces, instead blaming the Taliban for the attack.
Helmand governor Mohammad Yasin has assigned a security team to probe the incident, the statement concluded.
Taliban has denied involvement in the attack.
This comes a day after at least six non-combatants were killed as their car hit a roadside kaboom in another district of Helmand, Washir, on Sunday.
Details of the reported attack could not be independently confirmed as the area, which is under Taliban control, is remote and inaccessible to reporters.
[ToloNews] At least six civilians, including women and kiddies, were killed in a roadside mine blast in southern Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province on Sunday afternoon, local officials said on Monday.
The incident took place in Washir district after a civilian vehicle struck a roadside mine, said Mohammad Zaman Hamdard, a front man for provincial police chief.
"Two other civilians were maimed in the blast and the victims have been taken to a nearby hospital," he said.
No group, including the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , has grabbed credit for the blast.

If Biden is elected the deep state will run everything and they can just let the media have video of him walking to and from Marine One and maybe a bill signing now and then. He won't be under any stress at all.

Mr. Wife and I discussed this yesterday. His bottom line is that Donald Trump is such a vile, evil, dangerous man that Joe Biden’s senility is significantly better for the country and the world — though really he’s always been like this, so he isn’t senile at all. Also, the Burisma thing is just business as usual, and since Europe agreed with President Obama’s demand as conveyed to Ukraine by the vice president, all that corruption is no big deal... unlike Trump University.
I just let him run down on the subject, because he is otherwise wonderful. Our votes will cancel each other in November, but our district is strongly Republican, so that’s ok.
One of the most astute things Nancy Pelosi ever said (regarding AOC) was that a glass of water with a D after it could be elected in her district. I'm afraid we're about to find out what else with a D after it can be elected.

BEIJING (AP) — The United States, Japan and France are prodding their companies to rely less on China to make the world’s smartphones, drugs and other products. But even after the coronavirus derailed trade, few want to leave skilled China’s skilled workforce and efficient suppliers of raw materials to move to other countries.
Disruptions from the pandemic, on top of the U.S.-Chinese tariff war, fueled warnings that relying too much on China leaves global companies vulnerable to costly breakdowns in the event of disasters or political conflict.
Drug makers stand out as one industry that is trying to reduce reliance on Chinese suppliers by setting up sources of raw materials in the United States and Europe. But consumer electronics, medical devices and other industries are sticking with China.
"I don’t know of a single company right now that is moving ahead with any plans to move," said Harley Seyedin, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China.
China’s explosive rise as the world’s low-cost factory helped to hold down consumer prices and boosted Western corporate profits. But it has fueled political tension over lost American and European blue collar jobs. Governments and industry consultants fret that dependence on China can be a threat to supply chains and possibly national security.
Chinese factories assemble most of the world’s smartphones and consumer electronics and a growing share of medical equipment, industrial robots and other high-tech goods. This country is a dominant supplier of vitamin C and ingredients for antibiotics and other medicines. The ruling Communist Party has spent two decades building ports, railways, telecom networks and other facilities that are regarded as among the world’s best.
"China still offers an unparalleled supply chain for any industry," said Jit Lim of Alvarez & Marsal, a management consulting firm.
Philip Richardson, who manufactures loudspeakers in Panyu, near Hong Kong, said he has looked at Vietnam and other countries. But he said while their wages might be as low as 60% of China’s, the savings will be eaten up by the cost of giving up his network of Chinese suppliers.
"We gave it consideration for about a minute, and it doesn’t make sense," said Richardson, who has worked in China for 22 years. "When you buy magnets, now you have to pay for transportation and customs duties into other countries, whereas in China we just buy the magnets and they are shipping to us."
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court defended abortion rights in a major ruling on Monday by striking down a Louisiana law placing restrictions on doctors who perform the procedure, leaving anti-abortion advocates and the White House bitterly disappointed.
The 5-4 ruling, with conservative Chief Justice John Roberts joining the four liberal justices, represented a victory for Shreveport-based abortion provider Hope Medical Group for Women in its challenge to the 2014 law. The measure had required doctors who perform abortions to have a sometimes difficult-to-obtain formal affiliation called "admitting privileges" at a hospital within 30 miles (48 km) of the clinic.
But Roberts indicated his vote was a reluctant one and signaled he may back other abortion restrictions in future cases, with some legal challenges already in the pipeline.

Get 2/3rd of Congress and anything SCOTUS says is overruled. Been done 27 times. Oh, and also reorganize the Judiciary - no more life terms, make it 16 with a reaffirmation by the Senate. Suddenly, you'll see attitudes and viewpoints change.
#4
Don't you people grasp that restricting abortion harms the most fundamental human right - the right to behave stupidly without adverse consequences?
#5
If I understand correctly, Louisiana law applies exactly the same requirements to doctors who perform things like LASIK or colonoscopies in surgical centers. They are still required to have admitting privileges in nearby hospitals. ONLY abortionists are exempt for some strange reason.

[American Thinker] The other day, the New York Times was subtly and not so subtly promoting the claim that President Trump was standing callously by and coddling Russia's Vladimir Putin even as Putin was busily offering the Taliban bounties for the bodies of dead U.S. servicemen. It was the old "Trump is a Russian agent" canard whipped out in a new form.
The intelligence finding was briefed to President Trump, and the White House's National Security Council discussed the problem at an interagency meeting in late March, the officials said. Officials developed a menu of potential options — starting with making a diplomatic complaint to Moscow and a demand that it stop, along with an escalating series of sanctions and other possible responses, but the White House has yet to authorize any step, the officials said.
Heartless bastard, allowing Russia to pick off our men while he kaffeeklatsched with Putin and invited him to the G-7. Anything for his Russian master.
President Trump denied it. His acting director of National Intelligence at the time, Richard Grenell, denied it vehemently. Grenell's disavowal of the leak of such "partial intelligence" was something I noted here. And for what it's worth, even the Russians denied it.
But the Times pressed on with the claim and even did some additional reporting to claim that it had proof. The Guardian helped the Times along with a follow-up story beginning with "Outrage Mounts about..."
Fortunately, there was CBS's Catherine Herridge, who batted back at the press at its own game — and found some pretty exculpatory backing for the Trump administration's statements:
Happened to catch a bit of Chuck Schumer on CBS this morning with his phony sanctimony on this subject. It was seriously disgusting.

[Washington Examiner] More than two decades after a law was passed requiring it to do so, the Defense Department released a list of companies operating in the United States that the Pentagon believes are tied to the People’s Liberation Army, the armed forces of the Chinese Communist Party.
The list of 20 Chinese companies, including Huawei and Hikvision, was made public last week, and the designation by the Pentagon under the 1999 National Defense Authorization Act gives President Trump the power to invoke emergency economic powers granted to him under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977, including sanctions, against the Chinese military-linked companies.
The Pentagon was required to create the list two decades ago, but last week marked the first time that it did so. The 1999 law, passed in part to make sure that China’s admission to the World Trade Organization did not give Chinese companies working for the PLA free rein in using access to the U.S. to build up China’s military strength, required the defense secretary to "make a determination of those persons operating directly or indirectly in the United States or any of its territories and possessions that are Communist Chinese military companies" and to "publish a list of those persons in the Federal Register." The Pentagon must also "make additions or deletions to the list ... on an ongoing basis based on the latest information available."
[American Thinker] Throughout my working life, I've had friends introduce me to strangers as "Dr. Pete." The new acquaintance invariably comments, "Oh, so you're a physician?" And then I reply, "No, I'm just a dentist." Should the ensuing conversation veer into science or health care, I make sure to preface all my remarks with "I'm just a dentist, but..."
How dentists became the idiot stepchildren of healthcare, I don't know. Fact is, the first two years of dental school and medical school are identical. And when you're attacking someone's corpus with needles, drills, Novocaine, and narcotics, you'd better have a damn good sense of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology lest you damage or kill your patient.
So imagine my bewilderment in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic at all the politicians, pundits, and talking heads who've suddenly become experts in infection control — not to mention all the lay people wearing masks of every conceivable design and standing six feet away from others, as if six feet were some magic number. Poor sheeple — they think they're safe, they're following the "science," and far be it from me to disabuse them of their imaginary sense of security.
As I was saying, I'm just a dentist — with forty-five years of studying and practicing infection control — and here's how I see it. We live in a sea of bacteria, viruses, and Spirochetes (Lyme Disease, syphilis), a veritable Grand Central Station of pathogens, all of them vying to take us down. They're on doorknobs and newspapers, in our air and water, and emanating from the mouths (and other orifices!) of our fellow human beings.
One way to protect yourself from these ubiquitous bugs is to raise your immune status. Eat better, exercise more, get your sleep, and manage your stress. Like the USS Enterprise from Star Trek, you want your shields up at full capacity and the warp engines working. Run yourself into the ground with bad habits or bad thoughts, and you get sick.
The other form of protection is infection control. Exactly how do dentists practice infection control, a question not one person has ever asked? This is how.
You enter a treatment room, and after several minutes of witty repartee with your patient, you wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap, and long enough to hum the theme song to Gilligan's Island. Then you carefully put on a mask, protective goggles, and gloves. Done right, the patient's protected from you, and you're protected from the patient.
If it's any kind of decent dental office, they'll actually be happy to talk about their infection control protocols, level of disinfection, and sterilization technology.
A really good office will have an entire web page dedicated to that.

[AnNahar] Danish judges incarcerated Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! an Iranian-Norwegian man for seven years on Friday for his part in a plot to assassinate an opponent of the Tehran government.
Mohammad Davoudzadeh Loloei, a 40-year-old Norwegian resident, was convicted of "complicity in an liquidation attempt" against a separatist leader, according to the ruling obtained by AFP.
The target of the attempted liquidation, a member of a separatist group known as the Arab Movement for the Struggle for the Liberation of Ahvaz, was reportedly wanted by authorities in Iran.
The Ahvazi are an Arab ethnic minority living in the southwest Iranian province of Khusestan. They’ve been rebelling against the Iranian government for about a century. Periodically AMSLA agents attempt to harm Iranians in Europe, or Iranian spies target Ahvazi exiles in Europe, at which point the local governments get upset and start arresting people who amply deserve it — all very boringly Casablanca.
The trial heard that the accused had secretly filmed the targeted man, Habib Yabor Kabi, and his wife at home in Copenhagen in September 2018.
Davoudzadeh Lololei then sent the footage to a man called "Sajjadi", whom the court said was a "proven" Iranian intelligence agent.
Shortly afterwards, intelligence officers and police mounted a huge operation to thwart the liquidation, bringing the Nordic nation to a standstill.
On September 28, 2018, Denmark shut down the bridges and ferries to Sweden for several hours as part of a massive manhunt.
"The accused should have realized that through his research and observations, he was helping an Iranian intelligence service (...) in the murder," the judges concluded.
Denmark has said the foiled liquidation was ordered by Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... in retaliation for a deadly attack in its city of Ahvaz in September 2018 -- a claim Tehran has denied.
Davoudzadeh Lololei was arrested in October 2018 after returning from a trip to Iran.
He denied the charges, claiming he was filming Kabi because he had had an affair with his ex-wife and that he had flown to Iran because his mother was seriously ill.
The court rejected the explanations and concluded that "the Iranian intelligence services were planning to assassinate" Habib Yabor Kabi.
The verdict cited cases of liquidations of Iranian opponents in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... .
[MSN] Hulu has removed an episode of The Golden Girls that contains a blackface reference.
Over the weekend, the streaming platform cleared its catalog of the 1988 episode of the beloved sitcom titled "Mixed Blessings." The season 3 episode's storyline follows Dorothy's son Michael introducing his fiancée Lorraine to the main characters.
While Dorothy (Bea Arthur) has reservations about the engagement because of the woman's older age, Lorraine's family is resistant to her marrying a white man.
The controversial scene in question finds Rose (Betty White) and Blanche (Rue McClanahan) in matching brown mud masks when Lorraine's family meets them.
Rose references their appearance saying, "This is mud on our faces, we're not really Black."
Some criticized Hulu's decision to take down the episode, claiming the choice is an overreaction. "That Golden Girls episode isn’t blackface. What the hell ?" tweeted author Roxanne Gay, adding, "Removing this episode is weird, counterproductive and stupid. It diminishes the effort to actually end racism. It’s just so dumb."

[WesternJournal] Gunfire and death have once again visited Seattle’s police-free "Capitol Hill Organized Protest" area.
Two men were taken to Harborview Medical Center early Monday after a shooting in the CHOP zone, KIRO-TV reported.
One victim transported by the Seattle Fire Department died after arriving at the hospital at 3:30 a.m., the hospital said. A second man who arrived by private vehicle at 3:15 a.m. was reported in critical condition.
The Seattle Police Department tweeted that officers were investigating a shooting near 12th Avenue and Pike Street in which two people were injured. That location is at the edge of the occupied piece of downtown Seattle.
"You heard a lot of gunshots near the Cal Anderson Park. A lot of us ran down there, a lot of people were running back. It was almost literally right outside in front of the [abandoned]
East Precinct," witness Giovanni Medina said, according to KIRO.
[FoxBusiness] I’m moving my business headquarters off the West Coast. We tried San Francisco. We tried the Seattle area. Both were wonderful in their own ways, especially in natural beauty and personal friendships. But both have become hostile to the principles and policies that enable people to live abundantly in the broadest sense.
That’s why my company is in the final stages of purchasing office space in Austin, Texas. By the end of the year, I hope to move dozens of employees to the Lone Star State and to be ready to hire hundreds more. While uprooting a big part of a billion-dollar company isn’t easy, the decision to move to Texas wasn’t hard. Our staff and their families will be able to flourish to a much greater extent.
Leaving the West Coast might seem strange for a company focused on tech ventures and related investments. It’s true that the company has benefited greatly from the larger pool of forward thinkers and industry disrupters in the tech hot spots of San Francisco and Seattle. But the best places to be in tech have now become some of the worst places to raise a family, practice a faith, or even think freely. This hurts my team and the business.
These areas are culturally diverse but increasingly monolithic in terms of ideology. In the past few weeks, radical protesters took over a portion of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The mood in the area was that this experiment in anarchy was acceptable and even praiseworthy. Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan even issued a statement commending the “First Amendment activities” of the occupiers.
Peter Rex is founder and CEO of Rex Teams, a tech, investment and real-estate firm.
I'll go with this. There is truth in Penguin's comment. Even in Austin, the emigrees from Washington won't be welcomed with open arms (same with those from Silicon Valley). These people are making it difficult to find jobs and housing in Austin for people who have lived there for awhile. Prices/rents/housing are being driven up. Those who have lived in Austin for a long time are moving out to smaller communities 50-60 miles away where housing is affordable.
[Babylon Bee] HEAVEN‐A spokesperson for the Most High God confirmed that God will be ending humanity before any remake of The Princess Bride can be released.
Humanity was forced to acknoweldge that the God of the Bible is good, merciful, and gracious after His spokesangels confirmed he would rather destroy all of humanity than force anyone to live in a universe where The Princess Bride was remade.
"Before The Princess Bride remake can see the light of day, The Lord will flatten all of humanity with fire and brimstone from on high, in His mercy," said a heavenly spokesperson. "Humanity will experience the sweet release of death rather than have to see someone try to remake the only perfect movie ever made."
"Seriously, trying to remake The Princess Bride? What's wrong with you people!"
After the announcement, even atheists were forced to admit that God is truly good to us. "I have finally seen the light," said Richard Dawkins as he repented in tears. "God is not a moral monster -- He is the very standard of goodness, truth, and justice."
Theologians further confirmed that since the invention of acts of mercy, there have only been five that were rated the most gracious, the most merciful. This one left them all behind.

[Star Tribune] A liquor store was one of the first buildings touched by the rage of a crowd that had watched a white police officer press his knee into George Floyd’s neck until he died.
Looters hit Minnehaha Lake Wine & Spirits twice the first night of protests as Steve Krause, the owner, watched by surveillance camera from his home across town.
Two nights later the store burned down. Flames flung the red marquee onto a pile of mangled metal in what used to be the basement.
Krause plans to rebuild what is now a third-generation business, but "there are bigger issues in society," he said from the sidewalk on E. Lake Street, a place still ringing with the echoes of Floyd’s death and the public’s furious response. He gestured at the hole in the ground that was his store.
"If this is a sacrifice to accomplish a greater good, so be it," Krause said. Good luck getting insurance, idiot
On May 28 — the night the Third Precinct police station and the liquor store and many other buildings burned — Ruhel Islam cooked food for protesters and offered bottled water in front of his restaurant, Gandhi Mahal, down the block and around a corner from the police station.
Medics set up a spot to treat injured protesters in a community space adjacent to the restaurant.
Later that night, someone set a fire that consumed Gandhi Mahal. The next morning, Islam’s response went viral: "Let my building burn," he said. "Justice needs to be served."
Islam was a student demonstrator in Bangladesh in 1990 when a mass uprising toppled a military ruler. Those protests were not always peaceful. Dozens died, and students and other demonstrators clashed with police repeatedly before the president resigned.

He going to have a 'Fire Sale' for reopening? Or was that for remodeling?
[NYPOST] A divided Supreme Court on Monday put the brakes on Congress’ attempt to limit the president’s power to remove executive branch officials in a win for President Trump.
The justices ruled, 5-4, that the Constitution requires the president have unfettered discretion to fire the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
However, denial ain't just a river in Egypt... the high court rejected arguments that the entire agency should be shut down.
All of the Republican appointees on the high court backed the decision eliminating the restrictions on the firing of leaders of so-called single-member agencies, while all the Democrat-appointed justices said they would have left those limitations in place.
The board was the brainchild of Democratic Massachusetts Sen. She had a DNA test to prove her lineage and it turns out she's colorless... before her days in elected office, and enacted into law by Congress in the wake of the 2008 financial collapse.
The White House hailed the ruling.
"Today’s decision represents an important victory for the fundamental principle that government officials should be accountable to the American people," press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) heavily targeted the jihadist trenches along the southern Idlib front-lines on Monday, as they continue their assault on the turban defenses in Jabal al-Zawiya.
According to a field report from the Idlib front, the Syrian Arab Army troops launched several artillery shells and missiles towards the jihadist defenses in the Jabal al-Zawiya region, causing the destruction of a number of turban points in the process.
The Syrian Army also targeted the jihadist-led Hurras al-Deen group’s positions in the al-Ghaab Plain region of northwestern Hama.
Since the Hurras al-Deen group launched a surprise attack earlier this month, the Syrian Arab Army has zeroed in on their positions with daily strikes.
While these strikes are carried out a daily, it appears the Syrian Army is actually preparing for a new offensive that seeks to expel the jihadist rebels from the Jabal al-Zawiya and al-Ghaab Plain regions.

[WesternJournal] One man was killed Saturday during protests in Louisville, Kentucky, after an individual involved in the protesters opened fire before being wounded by other armed protesters and later arrested by police.
"The man had been participating in the protests since they began and had been arrested a couple of times over the past several weeks. He had been repeatedly asked by other members in the park to leave due to his disruptive behavior," Louisville Assistant Chief of Police Robert Schroeder said of suspect Steve Lopez, according to Fox News.
"In addition to this man, multiple other people in the park were armed at the time of the incident, and our homicide investigators are still working to identify all of the parties who may have fired during the incident," he said.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Lebanese media reported on Monday, that Lebanese Foreign Minister Nassif Hitti met the American Ambassador to Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... Dorothy Shea at the Pine Palace in Beirut, where they touched on the judicial decision, which sparked widespread controversy in Lebanese circles.
The Lebanese website, al-Tayyar, conveyed the statements of the Foreign Minister who stressed the freedom of the media and the right of expression, which are sacred rights.
They also frankly discussed the current developments on the local scene, and the two sides touched on the bilateral relations that bring together the two countries and the Lebanese and American peoples.
He even stressed the importance of cooperation between the two governments in all fields in order to support Lebanon to get out of the economic crisis that it suffers from.
In the same context, the Supreme Judicial Council summoned the Judge of Urgent Matters in Muhammad Mazeh to listen to him, noting that "the judge will not meet the summons, and he will submit his resignation at 11 before tomorrow noon tomorrow Tuesday."
The judge previously issued a decree banning the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon from making media statements after a remark criticizing the government last Friday.

It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... on Monday, as their troops captured several sites in al-Bayda (south) and Marib (north).
According to the spokesperson for the Ansarallah-aligned Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’a, their troops began the day by capturing several sites in the Radman District of the al-Bayda Governorate.
Following the advance in al-Bayda, the Ansarallah forces were able to take control of several sites inside the Marib Governorate, putting their troops closer to the administrative capital.
"The the armed forces have cleared an area of 400 square kilometers in al-Bayda and Marib," Sare’a said, pointing out that there was "a massive collapse in its (Saudi-backed forces) ranks and daily casualties."
He also touched on the issue of Yasser al-Awadi, who is the Assistant Secretary-General of the General People’s Congress, saying that he "coordinated with the aggressor countries to get around our forces in the Radman Directorate," adding that al-Awadi "continued to be drawn into the plans of the aggression despite his warning and included mercenaries, including Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... s and ISIS."
He added: "The armed forces were able to monitor al-Awadi’s activities, including the mobilization of mercenaries and their stationing in different regions," noting that "Al-Awadi used the aggression countries that provided support with money, weapons, mercenaries and air support."

Time to move to the other one? Or for the Justice Department to get involved...
[WesternJournal] As the Trump administration ratchets up the pressure on big technology, President Donald Trump said he expects that Twitter will strike back.
Trump sounded off about Twitter in the course of an interview Friday with Ben Domenech, publisher of The Federalist.
In recent weeks, Twitter has become aggressive in its handling of Trump’s tweets, posting warnings on one tweet about rioters breaking the law and on another in which Trump mocked CNN.
That led to Domenech asking the president if he expects Twitter will follow up by placing a ban on his personal Twitter account.
"Yes, I do," the president replied.
Trump said he expects the ax will fall this autumn, as the presidential election nears.
"Some people say I should join Parler," Trump said, referring to the platform that touts itself as "an unbiased social media focused on real user experiences and engagement."
"Maybe. We do have over 194 million followers, though, across multiple sites," the president added.

All he has to do is move to parler and the press would have to move there to follow him. I would have all the congress that support him do it too.
Twitter is dying anyway. Let the far left have it and it will die even faster.

President Trump’s battle is two-fold. People will follow him to Parler, which will definitely grow that business. But the JournoList types will not follow him there — so he has to continue on Twitter in order to make sure they keep fussing about the things he says. Not to mention the sheer usefulness of Alinskying Twitter, Facebook, et al for their ongoing fascistic actions.

[THEBAGHDADPOST] Four bodies were found in a grave inside a residential property in Sinjar’s (Shingal) Qahtanya (Gir Uzer) sub-district, which are believed to have been victims of ISIS during the time in which it captured and controlled the city.
After returning home from a displacement camp on Sunday, a Yezidi (Ezidi) family found the mass grave inside their garden, as they began to make repairs on their damaged house.
"We went to our home with several of my relatives to clean the house, following the ISIS war that left part of the house in ruins, with a lot of rubble, and then we found the bones and the remains of the bodies in the garden in one grave," said Khairo Khidr, the owner of the house.
Khidr explained that once they had dug up the grave, they discovered that more than one body had been buried in it.
"According to the bones, including skulls, we discovered that there were four people buried there," he said.
"There was no national identity card with the bodies," he continued. "However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... according to their clothes, they appear to be residents of the area, and they were shot and killed after ISIS took over the city of Shingal."
The Khidr family believes that the bodies belong to four of their family members—three women and a man who are still missing.

[THEBAGHDADPOST] "Al-Ain News" reported that an agreement between the transitional government in Sudan and negotiators of the armed struggle movements is about to be set, which extends the transitional period to 4 years, instead of 3 in this country.
The report quoted sources, who asked not to be named, that the Supreme Peace Council headed by Lieutenant General Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan and the Prime Minister agreed to extend the transitional period to 4 years, starting at the final signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
In addition, members of the armed struggle movements who signed the peace agreement will be excluded from the provisions of Article 20 that prevent the occupants of constitutional positions in the councils of illusory sovereignty and ministers and states or governors of the provinces from running in the upcoming elections.
Regarding power, it was agreed to increase the members of the Transitional Sovereign Council and grant the Revolutionary Front two seats, while 4 ministries would be granted to the revolutionary Front.
The sources pointed out that there are differences in opinions regarding members of the Legislative Council, and the sources expected the number to increase to 400 seats instead of 300.
The mediation team approved confidence-building measures between the two parties, including the release of prisoners of war, the dropping of absentee rulings, the ban imposed by the Omar Bashir regime on some leaders of armed factions, and the opening of humanitarian corridors to relief those affected by the war.
The measures also stipulated that the formation of the Legislative Council and the appointment of state governors be postponed until an agreement on peace in war zones is reached, so that leaders of the armed rebellion can participate in the transitional authority.

INTERPOL has an annual budget of around €113 million (GBP £99 million) (US$131 million), most of which comes from annual contributions by member police forces in 181 countries.
Contrary to frequent portrayals in popular culture, INTERPOL is not a supranational law enforcement agency and has no agents with arresting powers.[27] Instead, it is an international organization that functions as a network of criminal law enforcement agencies from different countries. The organization thus functions as an administrative liaison among the law enforcement agencies of the member countries, providing communications and database assistance, mostly through its central headquarters in Lyon.[28]

Last Friday, the Iraqi security forces raided the headquarters of Kataeb Hezbollah in Baghdad; this resulted in the arrest of 14 members.
The security operation was carried out in response to several Katyusha rocket attacks on the Baghdad Airport and a number of other installations.
While Kataeb Hezbollah has not grabbed credit for these attacks, the Iraqi security forces reportedly tracked the launching points to the group’s positions.

The human error was that they didn't anticipate that the US wouldn't retaliate.
As there was zero US military activity in Iranian air space there was no way they could pin this on Trump.
OTOH if there had been any military reaction the MSM's dominant narrative would have been accusing Trump of a war crime, even in the face of evidence of Iranian wrongdoing.

(D) is proposing a $1 billion cut to the New York Police Department's annual budget as calls grow across the nation for local governments to divert funding from law enforcement and put it toward other social services.
De Blasio said at a presser Monday that his office presented a budget to City Council over the weekend that would "achieve a billion dollars in savings" for New York police.
He said that the funds will be shifted to programs impacting young people and "communities in a way that would help address a lot of the underlying issues that we know are the cause of so many problems in our society."
"I am excited to say that we have a plan that can achieve real reform, that can achieve real redistribution, and at the same time ensure that we keep our city safe, and we make sure that our officers are on patrol where we need them around this city," de Blasio added.

Bill de Blasio says layoffs for 20,000 city staff will start in October
Downsizing government the hard way, because they refused to do so without clasping the craziness firmly to their bosoms.
But they are downsizing nonetheless, which is the important thing. And when they finally elect another Republican mayor, the police force will be upsized again. In the meantime, private security companies will no doubt be hiring pink-slipped police as fast as they can sign them up.

Is there ever going a vaccine against tribalism?
You've just put your finger on the principal reason rulers tend to want their populations to speak one language, adhere to the same religion, etc. Knocks out one source of trouble. Not so much because it might directly lead to regime collapse, but because the attention and resources devoted to crushing that revolt opens up opportunities for both internal (at both the grassroots and elite levels) and external enemies.

Is there ever going a vaccine against tribalism?
Nations are coalitions of interests. The moment commonalities are exceeded by differences - that's the inception of the potential for civil unrest. Given the amount of carnage such conflicts entail, it takes a huge amount of additional stress to push that all the way into civil war. In places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Libya and the Congo, those stresses have been exceeded, and then some.

[FoxNews] Just days after getting conditional approval for its coronavirus drug remdesivir in Europe, Gilead has announced pricing for the U.S. and other developed countries, charging different rates for the U.S. federal government and private insurers.
In an open letter obtained by Fox News, Gilead Sciences CEO and Chairman Daniel O'Day said the price per vial of remdesivir would be $390 for government health care programs in developed countries, such as Medicare, equal to $2,340 per patient on a short, six-vial treatment.
For private insurance companies, the price would be $520 per vial, or $3,120 for a six-vial treatment.
"In normal circumstances, we would price a medicine according to the value it provides. The first results from the NIAID study in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 showed that remdesivir shortened time to recovery by an average of four days," O'Day wrote in the letter, explaining the pricing decisions. "Taking the example of the United States, earlier hospital discharge would result in hospital savings of approximately $12,000 per patient. Even just considering these immediate savings to the healthcare system alone, we can see the potential value that remdesivir provides. This is before we factor in the direct benefit to those patients who may have a shorter stay in the hospital."
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, O'Day said the U.S. was the only developed country to get two prices.
"Because of the way the U.S. system is set up and the discounts that government healthcare programs expect, the price for U.S. private insurance companies, will be $520 per vial," O'Day explained in his letter. "At the level we have priced remdesivir and with government programs in place, along with additional Gilead assistance as needed, we believe all patients will have access."
In a statement released on Monday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said that it has secured more than 500,000 treatment courses of the drug for American hospitals through September.
The developing world will see treatment "at a substantially lower cost," with O'Day citing "healthcare resources, infrastructure and economics" as the reasons. The company previously announced it had entered into agreements with generic drug makers to produce the drugs for developing countries.
Last week, Reuters reported Indian generic drugmakers could sell treatments for 5,000 to 6,000 rupees ($66.13-$79.35).
O'Day noted that by the end of 2020, Gilead expects to have spent more than $1 billion on research and development on the drug, with its commitment expected to last "through 2021 and beyond."
"As with many other aspects of this pandemic, we are in unchartered territory in pricing remdesivir," O'Day concluded Monday's letter. "Ultimately, we were guided by the need to do things differently. As the world continues to reel from the human, social and economic impact of this pandemic, we believe that pricing remdesivir well below value is the right and responsible thing to do."
Earlier this month, O'Day explained in another open letter that Gilead expects "to have more than two million remdesivir treatment courses manufactured by the end of the year and many millions more by 2021."
Recently, a Phase III trial of remdesivir showed that 65 percent of moderately ill patients had improvement after 11 days.
A separate study from the National Institutes of Health published in late May also showed the median time to recovery was 11 days for patients treated with remdesivir compared with 15 days for those who received the placebo.
Remdesvir is currently only approved for SARS-CoV-2 in Europe and Japan, but the FDA allowed emergency use approval of the experimental drug in early May.

"Taking the example of the United States, earlier hospital discharge would result in hospital savings of approximately $12,000 per patient. Even just considering these immediate savings to the healthcare system alone, we can see the potential value that remdesivir provides.
So the recovered Georgia patient would conceivably have the potential to win $53 million dollars in the Georgia 'Mega Millions' Lottery. Therefore his Remdesivir treatment should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 10% of the potential winnings, or $5.3 million dollars.
Does everyone follow my Gilead logic and math? Big Pharma, don't ya just love'em ?

So, in exchange for shelling out $3,120 for a six-vial treatment, I could have a 65% chance of shortening my WuFlu recovery time from 15 days to 11 days?

"CHAZ/BLM security" is a group of costumed people threatening other people in public with firearms in order to impose their will on them, with zero legitimacy.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... , Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed Russia’s withdrawal from the UN mechanism for exchanging information about humanitarian sites in Syria, noting that it has no mandate from the Security Council.
"This mechanism was the result of a voluntary agreement. It has no mandate from the UN Security Council. I have referred more than once to the disadvantages of this mechanism, but it has been consistently ignored," Nebenzia said during a meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs, Marc Lukoc, said that Russia had informed the United Nations of its withdrawal from the clearing-house mechanism on humanitarian sites and the movements of humanitarian personnel inside Syria on June 23.
Earlier, the Russian delegate to the United Nations had criticized the mechanism, indicating that it is not without flaws, but rather is used for disinformation campaigns, as there were cases of use of the sites referred to as humanitarian, by terrorists. Nebenzia also pointed out the difference between the coordinates of the United Nations and the locations where it was.
