Hamas sources detail why terror group turned down latest truce-hostage proposal — report
Not that the details matter. In the end, Hamas will accept nothing less than Israel’s conquest and destruction — it’s in their founding document. Anything they agree to in the meantime is merely a hudna to keep the world quiet and Israel bound until Hamas resumes the conflict with another 10/7.
[IsraelTimes] An unnamed Hamas

source reiterates that the Paleostinian terror group turned down the latest "bridging proposal" by the US because it contains ostensible new elements that the source says were added by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and are unacceptable to Hamas.

The sticking points in the latest proposal include the possibility of Israel objecting to the number and identities of Paleostinian security prisoners to be freed in exchange for hostages, and the deportation abroad of a large number of those prisoners, as well as the searching of displaced Gazooks as they return to their homes in the north of the Strip, the source tells the Qatar

The source argues that Hamas has shown flexibility with regard to the timeline for the IDF withdrawal from the Strip, walking back its demand that it must take place in the first phase of the ceasefire, but Netanyahu has not done the same with regards to the IDF withdrawal from the Philadelphi and the Netzarim corridors, and has added new conditions.

Al-Araby al-Jadeed further quotes Hamas politburo member Suheil al-Hindi saying that Hamas will not budge from its July 2 response to an earlier Israeli proposal, and will not renegotiate the deal.

Al-Hindi accuses Netanyahu of interpreting Hamas’s "flexibility" as a sign of submission and surrender, and says that the terror group has conveyed its position to mediators Egypt and Qatar, urging them to pressure Israel to abide by what has been agreed upon.

In a statement on Sunday evening, Hamas claimed that the latest US-backed text — a "bridging proposal" that was conveyed to Israel and to Hamas at the end of the talks in Doha on Friday — was aligned with Israel’s demands, citing Israel’s position on the two corridors and issues related the release of Paleostinian security prisoners, without further specification.

On Sunday, a Saudi paper reported ostensible new details of the deal, including a reduced IDF presence on the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gazoo

Health officials urge polio vaccination of Gazans, as IDF says process has begun

against polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set. Currently the disease is only found in Pakistain and Afghanistain...
In a joint letter sent yesterday to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Health Minister Uriel Buso, the doctors voice their concern after Gaza recorded its first polio case in 25 years last week when tests in Jordan confirmed the disease in an unvaccinated 10-month-old baby from the central Gaza Strip.

According to the World Health Organization, about 90% of the population in Gaza was vaccinated against polio in the first quarter of 2024.
"All infants in Israel and Gaza who have not yet received the full vaccinations are at high risk," the doctors write. "Our soldiers in Gaza and those treating prisoners from Gaza are also at risk. Some of those infected may suffer paralysis for the rest of their lives or spread the virus to immunocompromised populations."

IDF International Spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani says on X that "in the coming weeks, 43,250 vials of vaccine are expected to arrive in Israel and will enter the Gaza Strip, enough to vaccinate over 1 million children in 2 rounds."

He adds that according to the World Health Organization, about 90% of the population in Gaza was vaccinated against polio in the first quarter of 2024.
They did it without pausing the war then, too….
"Although the percentage of vaccinated residents of the Gaza Strip is high, babies likely born in Gaza after October 2023 and children who did not complete their polio vaccinations after the outbreak of war need additional doses," says Dr. Eyal Leshem, director of the Center for Travel Medicine and Tropical Diseases at Sheba Medical Center.

He says the vaccine to be given, nOPV2, is designed to provide immunity against type 2 poliovirus while reducing the risk of vaccine-derived poliovirus outbreaks.

"The vaccine is supplied in vials with 50 doses," Leshem says. "Therefore, it is likely that 2 doses can be given to each unvaccinated child, as well as booster doses to those already vaccinated."

#5  Has anyone ever asked the WHO to explain why it declared Polio globally eradicated in 2015?

The word "eradicated" is being misused here, but essentially they have. At least in civilized countries where the vaccination teams don't get murdered. Eradicated, in the public health sense, means there are no naturally occurring cases anywhere. So far, smallpox is the only disease to have been eradicated. Yay, humans! And 3 cheers for Western medicine.

From the WHO website:
Wild poliovirus cases have decreased by over 99% since 1988, from an estimated 350,000 cases in more than 125 endemic countries to 6 reported cases in 2021. Of the 3 strains of wild poliovirus (type 1, type 2 and type 3), wild poliovirus type 2 was eradicated in 1999 and wild poliovirus type 3 was eradicated in 2020. As at 2022, endemic wild poliovirus type 1 remains in two countries: Pakistan and Afghanistan.

"Who done it?"
"The WHO."
"Yeah, that's what I'm asking. Who?"
"That's what I said. WHO"
"What?"
"No, WHO."
"ARGGHH!"

Strip this morning.

Israel regularly returns Gazook detainees to the Strip, mostly after determining they are not suspected of terror activity. Some terror suspects who are considered low-risk have been released due to lack of space in Israeli jails.

Strip.

The crackdown on illegal arms last night in the cities of Netanya and Taibe led to the discovery of the launcher in the parking lot of a building in central Netanya, with a police sapper successfully neutralizing it.

Police say officers also found various firearms and ammunition in Taibe.

The statement doesn’t elaborate on how the RPG might have gotten from Gaza to Netanya.

Hezbollah fires 115 rockets at Israel Tuesday after IDF hits weapons depots in east Lebanon, 419 Hezbullies killed on the road to J’salem since 10/7

to the northern front, portending a major escalation with Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

There were no injuries reported in the attacks on the Upper Galilee, Western Galilee, and the Golan Heights.

The IDF said some of the rocket impacts sparked fires in open areas and that firefighters were working to extinguish them.

The army said it struck one of the launchers shortly after rocket fire in the morning hours.

Sirens sounded in multiple northern communities amid the attacks.

The Iran-backed terror group said the barrages targeted military bases.

Some of the attacks it said were in response to IDF strikes on Hezbollah arms depots deep inside Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley late Monday, and the killing of a prominent operative earlier in the day. Earlier Monday, an Israeli military NCO was killed in an explosive drone attack on northern Israel.

Israeli strikes deep inside Lebanon are relatively rare and generally come in response to deadly attacks. Nabi Chit, where one of the strikes in Baalbek reportedly took place, is some 70 kilometers (43 miles) from the Israeli border.

The IDF also carried out a dronezap on Monday night in southern Lebanon’s Deir Qanoun, near Tyre, killing a Hezbollah operative named as Hussein Suleiman. The IDF identified Suleiman as a prominent member of Hezbollah’s rocket and missile unit. Also Monday night, the IDF carried out strikes on a pair of Hezbollah rocket launchers in southern Lebanon’s Mansouri and Taybeh that were primed for "immediate" launch at Israel.

On Tuesday, the IDF said that it struck a building where several Hezbollah operatives were spotted in southern Lebanon’s Matmoura, along with another structure in the area.

A Lebanese media report on Monday claimed that Hezbollah’s threatened retaliatory attack for the killing of top commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut last month could be back on track after its ally Hamas

in Tehran in an attack blamed on Israel. It too has indicated its next steps could depend on the results of the Gaza ceasefire talks.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, Gallant said Israel’s "center of gravity" was gradually moving away from the Gaza Strip to the northern front, as the country readied for a major escalation with Hezbollah.

"Our center of gravity is moving from south to north, we are in a gradual change, we have more tasks in the south, we have hostages, we need to bring them, we are negotiating on this and I believe we will succeed in reaching results, this is a very important thing," Gallant said during a visit to the 36th Division in northern Israel.

"We want to return the [displaced] residents to the north, we want to return them safely. If it is possible to do this in an agreement, we will do it in an agreement," he said, warning that Israel would otherwise act.

Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis since October 8, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gaza amid the war against the Hamas terror group there. So far, the skirmishes have resulted in 26 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 19 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 415 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 72 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have been killed.

IDF confirms overnight strikes on Hezbollah arms depots, air defenses in Bekaa Valley for second night

[IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces confirms fighter jets carried out overnight airstrikes on Hezbollah weapon storage sites in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, for the second straight night.

A military statement says secondary explosions were identified after the strikes and that it also targeted Hezbollah air defenses in the area “that posed a threat” to Israeli aircraft.

The IDF accuses Hezbollah of putting military assets within populated areas, in a “cynical exploitation of Lebanese citizens,” after the Lebanese health ministry said one person was killed and at least 20 wounded in the strikes.

The statement also says the IDF carried out additional strikes on Hezbollah targets yesterday, including a rocket launcher used in an attack on Moshav Ya’ara.

Lebanese health ministry says 1 killed, 19 wounded in Israeli strikes on Bekaa Valley

[IsraelTimes] Lebanon’s health ministry says early Wednesday that Israeli strikes in the country’s east killed one person, just over a day after similar strikes in the area.

“Israeli enemy strikes on the Bekaa” Valley killed one person “and wounded 19 others,” the health ministry says, noting the toll was provisional and without saying if they were civilians or fighters.

The strikes around midnight come little more than a day after similar raids in the Bekaa region that Israel said targeted “Hezbollah weapons storage facilities.”

Hezbollah announces deaths of 4 members after Israeli strike on cell of operatives

[IsraelTimes] The Hezbollah terror group announces the deaths of four members killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” its term for operatives slain in Israeli strikes.

The announcement comes following an Israeli airstrike on a cell of Hezbollah operatives at a building in southern Lebanon’s Matmoura earlier today.

Their deaths bring the terror group’s toll since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip to at least 419.

COVID mRNA shots 'dramatically increase the risk of becoming severely ill or dying'
[WND] 'Injections carry such a high risk of dangerous adverse events, it would be safer to catch the virus without being vaccinated than to take one of the shots'

Those mRNA COVID-19 shots, turned out in double time by an industry in the pay of the federal government at the time, are "far more" dangerous to those who took them, including those forced by government officials to take them, than getting COVID, a new report explains.

The report at Slay News said a study has shown that the "overall risks" of the shots "greatly outweigh theoretical benefits."

The study results appeared in the International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice, and Research.

[ZeroHedge] A recent Wall Street Journal article titled: A Drunken Evening, a Rented Yacht: The Real Story of the Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage claims a rogue Ukrainian general, Valeriy Zaluzhniy, and a small team of commandos were responsible for the September 2022 destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines. However, this report offers little new information, mostly rehashing details that surfaced over a year ago. That article’s timing and content raise questions about its intent, particularly given the complexities involved in such a high-stakes operation.

Matt Riley argues below that the operation described by the WSJ is highly improbable. His main points summarized are:

  • The Nord Stream operation required capabilities far beyond those of the alleged perpetrators.

  • The WSJ story seems more like a strategic narrative designed to distract from the real culprits and manage geopolitical tensions, with potential darker motives behind its publication.

  • The suggestion that Zaluzhniy, now the Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, could be targeted in a false flag operation to further escalate tensions with Russia is particularly concerning.

  • The whole narrative appears to be setting the stage for a possible escalation, leveraging public perceptions to justify further conflict.

This is a detailed explanation by Matt Riley, a former Naval Marine Engineer Diving Officer and Intelligence Interrogator.

15 states sue Biden-Harris administration for enrolling noncitizens in Obamacare
[JustTheNews] If the CMS final rule takes effect Nov. 1, more than 200,000 DACA recipients would automatically become eligible for taxpayer-subsidized health plans nationwide.

A coalition of states led by Kansas has sued the Biden-Harris administration to block the federal government from providing free health care through the taxpayer-funded Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, to foreign nationals in the U.S. illegally.

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota Western Division and was joined by attorneys general from 14 states. The U.S. government and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are named as defendants.

At issue is a CMS final rule change called, “Clarifying the Eligibility of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Recipients and Certain Other NonCitizens for a Qualified Health Plan Through an Exchange, Advance Payments of the Premium Tax Credit, Cost-Sharing Reductions, a Basic Health Program.” In it, CMS redefines the legal term of “lawfully present” to include DACA recipients.

When Congress enacted the ACA, it limited eligibility only to “citizen[s] or national[s] of the United States [and] aliens lawfully present in the United States.” By changing the definition of “lawfully present” to include DACA recipients, CMS is enabling them to have access to taxpayer-funded ACA coverage. Doing so violates the Administrative Procedures Act, federal law that prohibits taxpayer-funded benefits from being given to illegal foreign nationals, and the Affordable Care Act, the complaint states.

Congress has already limited eligibility coverage, which excludes DACA recipients. Additionally, “DACA recipients are, by definition, unlawfully present in the United States,” the complaint states. “Indeed, eligibility for DACA requires unlawful presence in the United States.”

Former President Barack Obama created DACA through executive order in 2012. It shielded children from deportation who were brought into the country illegally by their parents and has been in litigation for 12 years. A federal judge has twice ruled DACA is illegal. The most recent ruling was in a multi-state lawsuit led by Texas to end DACA once and for all, The Center Square reported. The U.S. Supreme Court is ultimately expected to decide the case.

Numerous reports suggest between 700,000 and 800,000 DACA recipients live in the U.S. The Los Angeles Times reports there are 578,680 on record with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services as of March 2023.

In June, President Joe Biden announced he was expanding deportation protections for DACA recipients and streamlining request waivers to make it easier for them to obtain temporary visas, The Center Square reported. DACA supporters argue recipients should be granted citizenship, claiming they contribute to the U.S. economy and are constructive members of society.

Others argue those with criminal records, at a minimum, should be deported. Within the first five years of the program, nearly 80,000 DACA recipients were released into the U.S. with arrest records, The Center Square reported.

"Illegal aliens shouldn't get a free pass into our country,” Kobach said. “They shouldn't receive taxpayer benefits when they arrive, and the Biden-Harris administration shouldn't get a free pass to violate federal law. That's why I am leading a multistate lawsuit to stop this illegal regulation from going into effect.”

If the CMS final rule takes effect Nov. 1, more than 200,000 DACA recipients would automatically become eligible for taxpayer-subsidized health plans nationwide.

The lawsuit cites data from the Migration Policy Institute, Pew Research Center and others to estimate how many illegal foreign nationals are estimated to receive public benefits and the associated costs to taxpayers in each of the plaintiff states.

The lawsuit asks the court to postpone the effective date of the rule, vacate it, enjoin the defendants from implementing it and award plaintiff attorneys the costs of their fees.

Joining Kobach are the attorneys general representing Alabama, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Secret Service installs bulletproof glass for Trump's outdoor rally in North Carolina
Wonder how many panels were tested.
[JustTheNews] At his first outdoor rally since the attempted assassination, Trump will try to counter the DNC and secure the key battleground state

The Secret Service has installed bulletproof glass at former President Donald Trump's Wednesday rally in North Carolina.
It’s better than nothing, at least. Transporting it will add an interesting twist to the agents’ daily routine.
This is his first outdoor rally since the one last month in which a sniper attempted to assassinate him.

A "special see-through protective barrier" will separate Trump, now the GOP presidential nominee, from rallygoers, according to The Washington Examiner.

The sniper at the July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, shot from a rooftop about 150 yards away from the stage and outside of the Secret Service's inner security ring that included magnetometers, which has prompted several investigations into agency lapses and promises for a review of and improvements to policies and practices.

Would bullet-proof glass stop a full-size round? Lots of hunting ammo in that ballpark, too.
So I guess the question is what kind of commonly-available ammo will the glass stop?
Going on about AR-15 family of weapons and ammo may restrict the thinking.
When I was in high school, just over sixty years ago, lots of guys, or their fathers, had the 03 Springfield for deer. Fired the mil 30.06. If you lived near Canada, likely to have an Enfield in .303,similar ballistic performance.

Intelligence community, FBI issue warning on Iranian election interference
[JustTheNews] 'Iran seeks to stoke discord and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions,' per the joint statement.

The U.S. intelligence community and FBI have issued a joint statement again warning Iran seeks to "stoke discord and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions" during this election season.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency issued the joint statement on Monday.

"Iran seeks to stoke discord and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions," the statement reads. "Iran has furthermore demonstrated a longstanding interest in exploiting societal tensions through various means," according to the statement.

The agencies accuse Iran of using "cyber operations to attempt to gain access to sensitive information related to U.S. elections."

"We have observed increasingly aggressive Iranian activity during this election cycle, specifically involving influence operations targeting the American public and cyber operations targeting presidential campaigns," the agencies stated.

Examples of election interference include the recently reported activities to compromise former President Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, which the intelligence community attributes to Iran.

The intelligence community "is confident that the Iranians have through social engineering and other efforts sought access to individuals with direct access to the presidential campaigns of both political parties."

The agencies pledged that they "will not tolerate foreign efforts to influence or interfere with our elections, including the targeting of American political campaigns."

Britain
Criminals Freed Under Early Release Reoffending and Returning to Jail
[Breitbart] Criminals being set free in a bid to reduce overcrowding at a prison are reoffending and being returned to custody, an inspection report released Wednesday reveals.

The early release scheme — known as the end of custody supervised licence (ECSL) — is designed to free up space to ease prison overcrowding.

The BBC reports a new study shows revealed a quarter of HMP Nottingham prisoners released under the scheme were homeless, leading to “inevitable recalls”, said chief inspector of prisons Charlie Taylor.

The report comes as the left-wing Labour government’s emergency Operation Early Dawn measure to clear UK prison space amid the sentencing of anti-migration rioters, protesters, and social media posters will reportedly see at least 5,500 criminals released early by the autumn, as Breitbart News reported.

Taylor conceded it was “uncertain how many had been recalled”, the number of inmates who were homeless when they were released early was “astonishing.”

He cautioned high-risk offenders are not being given enough attention, despite warnings about the danger they posed.

At HMP Nottingham, preparation for the early release of inmates under the scheme was “often chaotic and rushed”, despite staff “doing their best”, the HM Inspectorate of Prisons report as seen by the BBC said.

“A quarter of prisoners released on this scheme were homeless and although data was not clear, it resulted in inevitable recalls,”Taylor said. “Overall, Nottingham is a jail that is coping with the many challenges that it faces, but it remains a fragile institution that carries a lot of risk within its constantly churning population.”

Flight attendant turned author reveals terrible security vulnerability she fears could trigger nuclear apocalypse
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A former flight attendant who became a successful thriller author has revealed a terrifying security weakness that she fears could cause a nuclear apocalypse.

New York Times bestselling author T.J. Newman, 41, got the idea for her most recent book 'Worst Case Scenario' after asking pilots to share their scariest fears.

One pilot told her that he often worried that a plane could crash into a nuclear power plant, which 'planted the seed' for her third novel, Newman said.

She soon started to research his fear to see if there 'was any validity to his fears,' and soon figured out that even though reactors - the heart of nuclear power plants - are hardened, the material stored outside of them could cause a major disaster.

'The research terrified me, and it became very quickly apparent that what became the premise of the book is completely plausible,' she said.

Doctors can stop severe bleeding ‘in seconds' with newly approved trauma product
[FoxNews] The FDA has approved TRAUMAGEL, designed to stop blood loss from gunshots, stabbings and other trauma

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a novel treatment that is designed to stop severe bleeding in a matter of seconds.

TRAUMAGEL — made by Cresilon Inc., a Brooklyn-based biotechnology company — is a plant-based hydrogel that comes in a pre-filled syringe, according to a press release.

First responders, paramedics and combat medics can use the gel to rapidly stop severe blood loss from wounds due to gunshots, stabbings or other traumatic events.

Joe Landolina, Cresilon’s CEO and co-founder, invented the gel in his dorm room when he was a 17-year-old chemical and bioengineering student at NYU.

There are currently many gauzes, powders and sponges used to stop bleeding, but they have limitations, according to Landolina.

"Compared to TRAUMAGEL, these products are difficult to apply into wounds, as they must be packed physically into a bullet wound by a first responder, which is painful and highly risky," he told Fox News Digital via email.

TRAUMAGEL, which is "the color and texture of hummus," works by instantly creating a mechanical barrier against bleeding at the site of the wound, Landolina said.

"That barrier then allows the patient to quickly produce their own natural clot that doesn’t become incorporated with TRAUMAGEL, allowing TRAUMAGEL to then be removed without disturbing the clot."

The gel is supposed to be removed within 24 hours.

Dr. Marc Siegel, senior medical analyst for Fox News and clinical professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, confirmed that this is the first gel-based hemostatic agent to be cleared for use in the U.S. to stop bleeding.

The product appears to be a "major step forward" in managing acute bleeding in the field — "even including head trauma and military uses [in combat], as well as gunshot and knifing wounds outside of combat," Siegel told Fox News Digital.

"The advantages are that it is plant-based and works very rapidly without a lot of protocol or preparation," he said.

"Also, it can be squirted from a syringe to get it into ‘nooks and crannies,’ and doesn't require external pressure."

Severe blood loss in traumatic wounds can kill in a matter of minutes, and is responsible for more than 35% of all pre-hospital deaths, studies show.

Up to 60% of hemorrhage deaths occur within the first three hours of injury.

The product is slated to launch in the U.S. in late 2024, according to the company.

Cresilon will target the U.S. military, trauma hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS) agencies and medical professionals who treat traumatic wounds, the company states.

Moscow targeted with largest drone attack of war with Ukraine: Russian officials
[FoxNews] All 45 Ukrainian drones over Moscow, Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga and Kursk [destroyed], Russian officials say.

Ukraine targeted Moscow on Wednesday in what Russian officials called one of largest drone strikes on the capital since the war began in 2022.

All 11 drones heading toward the capital in the Moscow region were destroyed, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said. In total, Russia said its air defenses downed 45 Ukrainian drones, including 23 over the Bryansk region, six over Belgorod, three over Kaluga and two over Kursk.

"This was one of the biggest attempts of all time to attack Moscow using drones," Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on his Telegram channel, adding that strong air defenses around the capital prevented the drones from striking their intended targets.

Some Russian social media channels shared videos of drones apparently being destroyed by air defense systems, which then set off car alarms.

In Russia's Kursk region, one person was killed and two were wounded after a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive device on their car, Acting Regional Governor Alexei Smirnov said on Telegram, according to Reuters.

Ukraine has been attacking Russia with drones, targeting oil refineries and airfields, in an attempt to weaken Russia's fighting potential and also has targeted the capital several times.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to push into Russia’s western Kursk region while the Russians drive forward slowly in a land conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Chicago teachers union locks 320,000 kids out of class so they can be indoctrinated by the DNC
[FoxNews] Enrollment drops 50,000 students but Chicago teachers want $50B for schools.

Chicago schools will be almost completely empty this week. That is by design: This year, district leaders pushed the usual start of the school year back by a week to help the city "accommodate an estimated influx of 75,000 visitors" and "[allow] time for students to attend, volunteer, and participate in the civic process of hosting the Convention."

That’s right: 320,000 students are being kept out of school so they can watch a political party talk about the importance of education. Teachers are still expected to report to work for professional development days, and the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) is busing teachers to Soldier Field on Thursday night to watch Harris’ acceptance speech on the big screen.

This is far from the first time Chicago students have been kept out of school for political reasons. The city’s public schools did not completely reopen from COVID-19 until late August 2021, a full year after many other districts had successfully brought students back into classrooms. The CTU, an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, called reopening efforts "rooted in sexism, racism, and misogyny" in a since-deleted tweet.

Even if schools were in session this week, one wouldn’t have to look far to see the failures of union-controlled schooling. A five-minute walk away from the United Center sits William H. Brown STEM Magnet School, where English Language Arts (ELA) and math proficiency rates are under 10%.

At Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary School, less than half a mile from the convention site, fewer than 1% of students are proficient in ELA and more than 60% are chronically absent. Just one mile north of where Harris and Walz will speak, proficiency rates at Talcott Elementary are below 30% in both key subjects. These schools are not one-off examples; reading and math proficiency rates are under 30% district wide.

Even when schools are open, many of them are mostly empty. Enrollment has declined by more than 50,000 students between 2018 and 2023, and 181 district schools were operating at less than 50% capacity last school year. Douglass High School and Manley High School were 96% and 95% empty, respectively.

Local leaders could not close the emptiest schools even if they wanted to. A 2021 state law that was applauded by CTU precludes CPS from closing down any schools until early 2025. A bill has been proposed to extend the moratorium to 2027.

Don’t worry about these schools going underused. The CTU is demanding that vacant floors of school buildings be converted into shelters for unaccompanied migrants as part of its new contract, which it is currently negotiating with CPS. The union's $50-billion slate of demands would cost taxpayers, over time, more than triple the amount the mayor proposed for the entire city's budget for 2024.

The conversion of school facilities is only one part of a long list of wants, which includes across-the-board raises not tied to performance and lower standards for teacher evaluations.

Russian Space Force Deployed Against Ukraine in Kursk
[HotAir] This is yet another one of those headlines that snuck up and took me by surprise. Back in 2015, even before Donald Trump stood up the American Space Force, Russia unveiled its own branch of the military for similar purposes, known as the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). So what is the VKS up to these days? Developing and launching hunter-killer satellites into orbit? Searching for extraterrestrials? Perhaps some of them are, but not all of them. In fact, a bunch of them have now been deployed to the Kursk Oblast to fight off Ukraine's surprisingly persistent incursion. Russia is claiming that the temporary transfer was required to deal with an unexpected manpower shortage in the region. Even some of the servicemen previously assigned to a Russian spaceport have been transferred to the front and put on infantry duty. I suppose all truly is fair in love and war. (Newsweek)

The deployment of temporary motorized rifle of Russia's Aerospace Forces to the Kursk region was first reported by independent investigative Russian outlet Important Stories.

The unit, created between May and June, consists of personnel from security and logistics companies, engineers, mechanics, some officers, and servicemen from a Russian spaceport. There are also personnel from special warehouses of the Aerospace Forces and radar stations in Russia's Voronezh region, who were previously in charge of manning Russia's nuclear deterrent, the publication reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.
I will confess that my initial read on this development was off-base significantly. When Ukraine moved into Kursk, it appeared to be a temporary distraction intended to pull Russian troops and armor away from the eastern front. I reasoned that when the actual Russian military arrived, they would be quickly chased back to their own borders and
the status quo would resume. When I'm wrong, I admit it. That may still happen - it's probably the most likely outcome - but it's not happening quickly. Ukraine has blown up three bridges leading into the section of Kursk they control and they are allegedly trying to create a buffer zone.

On the flip side of the coin, Ukraine's expectation that the Kursk incursion would force Putin to move troops away from the eastern Oblasts was barely met with any success. Russia has been moving troops from elsewhere while continuing the pressure on the east. One analyst said this week that Ukraine may be on the verge of losing Donbas because they no longer have the backup forces and armor to stave off the Russian advance. Is that really a good tradeoff? You temporarily take some farmland well to the south of Moscow from Russia (which they will obviously retake sooner or later), but you completely lose Donbas in the process? That's one more chunk of Ukraine that Putin won't even have to bargain over if there are ever any serious negotiated peace talks organized.

To give credit where due to Ukraine, assuming that the estimates being released from both sides of the conflict are anywhere near accurate (never a sure thing) one analyst surmised that Ukraine is now reported to have seized more territory in the Kursk region in days than Russia has captured in Ukraine since the beginning of the year. That may indeed turn out to be accurate. But the ground that the Russians have gained has been hard-fought every step of the way. The Ukrainians took over a largely rural farming area with no military significance in a border region that Putin didn't even bother reinforcing. You can look at this as Putin's error or simply a moment of opportunity for Zelensky. (Or both.) It is thus far more of a PR victory for Ukraine, but one which could potentially undermine Putin's support on the home front if it appears that he's losing control of the situation.

None of this changes my overall estimation from being a pessimist to an optimist in terms of Ukraine's chances of actually "defeating Russia." Wars tend to move in an ebb-and-flow fashion. Historical examples are available throughout all of recorded history. As long as Ukraine is fighting on its own - even with plentiful military aid being supplied by the West - this remains a David versus Goliath battle. Goliath has simply had a bad couple of weeks.

Sad: Black People Turned Away In Droves As Democrats Require Photo ID To Enter Convention
[Bee] CHICAGO, IL — According to reports, black people trying to attend the DNC were turned away in droves as Democrats required photo IDs to enter the convention.

Despite knowing that black people are not capable of obtaining photo IDs, Democrats inexplicably chose to require everyone in attendance to show identification, leaving thousands of black people unable to enter.

"I wanted to come, but everyone knows I can't get an ID," said one black man who was refused entry to the DNC. "You'd think the Democrats would be aware of this fact. This must be some type of big plan to suppress our ability to attend the convention. It's a shame. I was looking forward to being here, but acquiring an official government-issued photo ID isn't something people like me can do. At least that's what I've heard."

DNC officials offered conflicting comments on the controversy. "We would never want to discriminate," said DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison, who is also black. "We're here to stand up against the efforts of Republicans to keep the black population from voting by requiring them to show a photo ID, which is why we're gathering here in Chicago and requiring everyone who enters to show a photo ID."

At publishing time, Harrison also clarified that the DNC had built a wall around the convention area to keep out anyone it didn't want present as its leaders gave speeches about how walls are not effective in keeping out unwanted people.

Harris promises swing-state voters she'll be 'tough' on border — but criticized Obama in 2019 for deporting illegal immigrants
[NY Post] ''Tougher.''

That's the name of Vice President Kamala Harris
What can be, unburdened by what has been

gang members for smuggling weapons and drugs across the border,'' the ad proclaims about her time as Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s attorney general.

''As vice president, she backed the toughest border-control bill in decades,'' the spot continues, referring to the twice-failed Biden border bill that promised to spend $20 billion on border security without taking any significant border-enforcement measures.

And the ad promises that as president, Harris will ''crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking.''

The spot doesn't mention her nearly three-and-a-half-year role as ''border czar'' of the administration, likely because under her tenure Customs and Border Protection has recorded more than 10 million illegal-immigrant encounters nationwide, with about 80% at the southern border.

Possible light Snow in Sierra for 24 Aug
MercuryNews] With a drop in temperatures and a chance of showers expected Friday and Saturday, snow could fall as low as 8,000 feet elevation from the Tahoe area south to Mammoth Lakes.

Yosemite's Tioga Pass, at 9,943 feet, has a 43% chance of 0.1 inch of snow and Tuolumne Meadows a 34% chance, the agency's Hanford office said.

Also high enough for a trace of snow are Mount Rose summit, Carson Pass near Kirkwood, and Monitor and Sonora passes. The chance of precip is around 40% Friday and Saturday.
I assume this is noteworthy because it is unusually early in the season for snow, even that high up.

Suspect arrested in Lahore for ''triggering UK riots via fake news''
[GEOTV] Weeks after a fake news sparked anti-immigrant riots in the United Kingdom, a Pak man allegedly involved in spreading the false information was taken into custody in Lahore, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran confirmed on Tuesday.

During the last few weeks, Britannia witnessed widespread riots after misinformation spread about the identity of the alleged perpetrator of the knife attack that left three minor girls dead on July 29 this year.

The recent riots saw numerous mosques, asylum centres and immigrant homes being attacked in several regions of Britannia.

UK police authorities said that they had arrested over 1,000 people in connection with the weeks-long riots in England.
Sharing an update on X, formerly Twitter on August 14, the UK police authorities said that they had arrested over 1,000 people in connection with the weeks-long riots in England.

The UK police further said that at least 575 people have been charged, as courts continue to deal with those involved in the disorder, which occurred across dozens of towns and cities in England and Northern Ireland.

The Lahore police official said that the suspect identified as Farhan Asif was arrested last night in the quiet provincial capital's DHA area and was handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cybercrime wing for interrogation.

Farhan Asif works for a news platform based in Pakistain, DIG Kamran said, adding that the individual has been charged with spreading "fake news'' regarding the identity of the killer of three children who were stabbed to death.

The police official added that fake news caused violent mostly peaceful riots and protests in Britannia, adding that the accused was probed and was found involved in disseminating fake news.

The FIA sources told Geo News that the investigating agency's Additional Director Cybercrime Chaudhry Sarfaraz is leading the investigation.
Update from Skidmark’s BBC link, below: the idiot is named as Farhan Asif, and he claims he just copied something he’d seen on social media.

Illegal immigrant charged with rape of 10-year-old boy in Mississippi: sheriff's report
[POSTMILLENNIAL] An undocumented Democrat from Mexico has been charged with the rape of a 10-year-old boy in Mississippi, law enforcement revealed on Tuesday. The crime comes amid the ongoing border crisis under the Biden-Harris administration and soft-border security policies.

In a blurb, the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department stated, "The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department, Mississippi reports Filiberto Gonzalez a 34-year-old Hispanic male, an illegal alien, from Mexico, was arrested on Monday afternoon August 12, 2024."

Following an investigation, Gonzalez was charged with two counts of rape of a 10-year-old boy. "After obtaining arrest warrants and a search warrant the perpetrator was arrested at his residence, at Laura Lane. The perpetrator is being held at the adult Detention Center of the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department waiting for a hearing before a Justice Court Judge," the sheriff's office said.

In addition to the high-profile rape case from Mississippi, there have been other rape cases connected to illegal immigrants colonists that have come into the US. One case that has consistently made headlines in media is rape case involving Corey Alvarez, a Haitian national who came to the US under the Biden-Harris parole program and was charged with the rape of a disabled girl at a Rockland, Massachusetts hotel.

Additionally, there have been mass number of illegal immigrants colonists connected to murderous Moslems have also been entering the country. A report from June indicated that ISIS funneled around 400 illegal immigrants colonists into the US.

Note from Russian war correspondent Alexander Kots: On foreign journalists entering our territory
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from a V Kontakte page of Reports from the Novorossiya militia.

[VK] You know, I remember one round table on the results of the war on 08.08.08. And there the bureau chief of the German “Focus” Boris Reischuster complained that they couldn’t send a reporter to Tskhinvali from the Russian side. No one provided us with work there.

I objected, saying that a self-respecting reporter simply buys a ticket to Vladikavkaz, finds a taxi to the border at night, and there transfers to a convoy to Java. There, to a militia jeep. And then enters the city with the military. That’s what I did.

Reischuster looked at me as if I were crazy and said, “The Tbilisi Foreign Ministry would never approve such a trip.” The German journalist, who was in Russia, needed Georgia’s permission to enter South Ossetia from our side. And he then worked in Moscow for many more years.

All these "truth-tellers" needed permission from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry for ten years to visit Lugansk, Donetsk, Melitopol, Genichesk... Otherwise, how can one explain the fact that major Western media outlets have never covered the Ukrainian conflict from this side. And going without permission is a violation of journalistic ethics. By analogy, they should not have gone to occupied Sudzha either - without the approval of the Russian Foreign Ministry. But that's different. Here's all the ethics for you, in case anyone had any illusions. And yes, I myself have repeatedly ended up in different countries illegally - in Libya, Iraq, and, naturally, in Ukraine - since 2014. But the hohols opened a criminal case against me. And I am a reporter for a country at war. Unlike... Or do they still consider themselves a party to the conflict? How are the ethics there? Doesn't it itch?"

[REGNUM] The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with 265 votes in favor, adopted in the second reading the law No. 8371 "On the protection of the constitutional order in the sphere of activity of religious organizations", which provides for the liquidation of religious organizations and communities associated with "religious centers in the aggressor country". Although the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is not directly mentioned in the document, it is obvious that it is aimed specifically at its liquidation. The decision of the Ukrainian parliament did not come as a surprise, since the day before, the man who considers himself the president of Ukraine announced “the spiritual liberation of Ukraine in the near future.”

RFK Jr's running mate says campaign may back Trump
[BBC] Robert F Kennedy Jr's running mate says the independent presidential candidate is considering joining forces with Donald Trump's campaign or staying in and forming a third party.

On a podcast, Nicole Shanahan said they were considering the two options to avoid the "risk" of a Kamala Harris presidency.

She also accused the Democrats of "sabotage", including planting insiders in their campaign.

Mr Kennedy has faced a number of hurdles in his longshot third-party campaign, from legal challenges over getting his name on state ballots to funding his run.

"There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Tim] Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump," Ms Shanahan, 38, said on the Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu podcast released on Tuesday.

"Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and you know, we walk away from that and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision."

She said it was "not an easy decision".

BBC News has reached out to the Kennedy campaign for clarity on Ms Shanahan's comments.
They will be available soon. Consultations with various family members, personnal security firms, and life insurance agencies must come first.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Mr Kennedy said: "As always, I am willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign."

[VK] What is known at the moment:

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have become more active in several directions, conducting active offensive actions in an attempt to break through the defense of the Russian Army.

▪In the Korenevsky direction, an enemy column of armored vehicles managed to drive to the eastern outskirts of the district center, but the assault was stopped by Russian aviation. It is not entirely clear what and how the enemy equipment was destroyed, but we are leaning towards helicopters and the Vikhr ATGM;

▪In the Glushkovsky district, the Russian Armed Forces continue to build pontoon crossings across the Seim River. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces claim that they managed to destroy one of them. They also use FPV drones for attacks. As a result of the enemy's actions, not only the logistical situation for the Russian Army in the district is complicated, but also the evacuation of civilians;

❗In the Sudzhansky district, battles took place in the area of the settlement of Malaya Loknya. Thus, a video of the shelling of houses using the Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was published. Also at night, Ukrainian militants got lost in the village of Russkaya Konopelka, eventually coming under fire from a 30-mm BTR-82A autocannon of the Russian army;

▪In the south of the Kursk region, in the Belovsky district, in the settlement of Spalnoye, fighters of the 810th Naval Infantry Brigade defeated and captured a large number of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers. Also in this area, Russian marines attacked enemy equipment with ammunition;

Soldiers of the 810th Naval Infantry Brigade are hitting the enemy very hard in the Kursk region. Footage of prisoners, as well as dead Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, appears on the Internet every now and then;

▪In the area of the settlement of Russkoye Porechnoye, Russian aviation struck an enemy concentration in the forests using a FAB-3000;

In general, today a lot of footage of prisoners and killed enemies in the region has appeared on the Internet.

Russian aviation continues to drop tens of tons of ammunition on the heads of the occupiers, disrupting their supply, destroying columns and hitting personnel with equipment. Bombers also struck the enemy's rear in the Sumy region, hitting the command staff of the 47th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This sounds like the old military councils from WWII, where local civilian and military leaders would gather to assess materiel available to conduct the defense of a common area. Usually used by military districts, which eventually were transformed into the operational-strategic front formations.

It will be interesting to see what military units are used to augment this new area.

Russian Defense Ministry announced the creation of the Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk troop groups
Following a meeting of the coordinating council on military security issues in border areas, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the creation of the Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk troop groupings.

“The Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk troop groups have been created in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

At the meeting, which was held under the leadership of the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Andrei Belousov, the deputy head of the National Defense Management Center, Lieutenant General Yuri Korsachev, reported on the resolution of issues received from the operational headquarters of the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions.

According to Korsachev, the requested quadcopters, gasoline generators, quad bikes, night vision devices and sights, and thermal imagers have already been sent to the Belgorod Region. The required number of quadcopters, anti-drone guns and drone detectors, portable electronic warfare systems, small power plants, quad bikes, and thermal insulation capes have been transferred to the Kursk Region.

As for the Bryansk region, the dispatch of radio stations, radio jamming systems and drone countermeasures there is under control; the funds will arrive in the region on August 21, the lieutenant general specified.

“All incoming problematic issues are promptly communicated to the responsible central military command bodies, and their implementation is subject to round-the-clock support and coordination,” noted Korsachev.

The meeting also defined areas of responsibility in the Coordination Council:

- Deputy Minister of Defense Andrey Bulyga - issues of logistics, transportation and assistance to civil authorities during the evacuation of the population;

– Deputy Minister Alexey Krivoruchko – issues of military-technical support;

– Deputy Minister Pavel Fradkov – engineering development and construction;

– Deputy Minister Oleg Savelyev – interdepartmental interaction and coordination;

- Head of the Main Military Medical Directorate Dmitry Trishkin - medical support;

- the representative of the General Staff and the commanders of the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk groups are responsible for protecting civilians and territories from drone attacks and other means of attack.

Colonel General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov has been appointed deputy head of the council.

Recall that on the morning of August 6, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers attempted to cross the border and enter the territory of the Kursk region. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolayevo-Daryino. Only during the period from August 19 to 20, the Ukrainian army lost up to 350 servicemen and 25 armored vehicles.

In total, during the fighting, the enemy lost more than 4,130 military personnel, 58 tanks, 27 infantry fighting vehicles, 50 armored personnel carriers, 299 armored combat vehicles, 131 vehicles, 27 artillery pieces, five anti-aircraft missile systems, seven multiple launch rocket system launchers, including three HIMARS and one MLRS, six electronic warfare stations, four units of engineering equipment, including two engineering vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearing unit.

Why do we need the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk troop groups?
In general, they were needed from the very beginning of the SVO. Firstly, these regions border Ukraine. They are a priori in the risk zone. They come under fire, they are attacked, heavy attack drones fly through them to Russia.

Now, through the military coordination council, all emergency services are being transferred under military control.

There is an understanding that it may not end with the "Kursk blitzkrieg". The enemy is transferring forces with an eye on the Belgorod region - Krasnoyarsk and Graivoronsky districts. It can strike Tetkino from the south and Rylsk through Glukhov. Or it can try to transfer military operations to the Bryansk region.

In the end, maybe the appearance of these groups will help legally settle the issue of payments, benefits and the status of those who fight outside the SVO zone. From conscripts to border guards.

#1  Yes, "Kursk blitzkrieg". Proper word choice. WW11 Germany did the same thing in Kursk area at the end. Offensive, offensive last of all resources. The Russian trap as used on Germany. Complete and total surrender. Minus Z of course. Escape routes planed. Live another day in exile. Book deals, public speaking tours most likely in the states. The Z View talk show. A star is born.

Rifts Emerge Between Establishment Media, Democrats as DNC Problems Turn into Debacle

Caribbean-Latin America
Panama starts returning migrants on US-funded flights
The new conservative president is keeping his promise.
[BBC] Panama on Tuesday started repatriating undocumented migrants on flights financed by the United States.

The move comes less than two months after José Raúl Mulino was sworn in as Panama's president.

Mr Mulino campaigned on a promise to "close" the Darién Gap, the dangerous stretch of jungle which more than half a million migrants crossed last year on their way north from South America.

The Biden administration said it had agreed to pay for the flights as part of its efforts to deter irregular migration.
A group of 29 Colombians with criminal records were the first to be returned on Tuesday.

Under an agreement jointly signed by the Panamanian foreign minister and US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the US has committed to helping Panama with $6m (£4.6m) for equipment, transportation and logistics to "remove foreign nationals who do not have a legal basis to remain in Panama".

Immigration is a hot topic ahead of November's presidential election in the US and the stream of migrants arriving at its border with Mexico is being closely monitored.

The agreement with Panama aims to drive down the number of people making it to the US border by stopping them further south.

The Darién Gap, an expanse of jungle which straddles Colombia and Panama, is a natural bottleneck for those heading from South to North America.

In 2023, an estimated 520,000 people made the perilous journey on foot, many of whom had to pay gangs who prey on those embarking on the crossing.

President Mulino, who has promised to reduce the number of migrants transiting through Panama, described their situation as "sad".

"Most of them are from Venezuela," he explained. "They're human beings... there are families torn apart, children of five or six years of age whose parents have died during the crossing. We don't even know who they are or what their names are."

The president had earlier said that the flights would in the first instance take migrants to Colombia, the country from which they entered Panama.

It is not yet clear if flights will be organised from Colombia to repatriate them to their homelands.

According to Panamanian government figures, Venezuelans form the largest share of migrants trekking through the Darién Gap, followed by Colombians, Ecuadoreans and Haitians.

There is widespread concern in the region that the flow of those fleeing Venezuela could increase in the months to come if the political crisis triggered by the announcement of disputed election results is not solved.

Ahead of the election, polls had suggested that large numbers of Venezuelans were planning on migrating should President Nicolás Maduro win.

Tension has been high since he was declared the winner by the government-dominated National Electoral Council, with the result being rejected as fraudulent by the opposition and questioned by the US, the EU and many Latin American countries.

Panamanian President Mulino earlier this month offered Mr Maduro "safe passage" so that the Venezuelan leader could leave to a third country, but his offer was rejected by Mr Maduro, who warned his Panamanian counterpart not to "mess" with Venezuela.

Bomb threats reported at four Chicago hotels near DNC, 13 ‘mostly peaceful’ pro-Hamas protesters arrested Monday night, 4 more than a dozenTuesday p.m.
[POSTMILLENIAL] On the second day of the Democratic National Convention in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
, at least four hotels in the city's Near West Side, where the convention is taking place, were reportedly hit with bomb threats that included anti-semitic statements. This comes as pro-Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
agitators have been protesting the proceedings inside the convention.

According to Fox 32, officers and police K9s began searching the Nobu Hotel just before noon. The threat, emailed to the outlet, stated that pipe bombs had been placed in multiple hotels, including the Hyatt House Chicago, Hotel Chicago, and Nobu Hotel.

The threat noted that the DNC (If you're white you ain't right!)
...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points originate...
is taking place this week in the area, and also included anti-semitic statements.

The Chicago Police Department told the New York Post, "The US Secret Service is aware of threats made to various locations in the Downtown area. Law enforcement personnel are screening the affected areas and examining the credibility of the threat."

On Monday evening, agitators outside the United Center, where the DNC is taking place, breached security barricades put in place for the event. They were seen removing sections of fencing and attempting to breach the second barricade.

According to the Chicago Tribune, 13 people were arrested during Monday's protest. Sources told the outlet that police found nothing after the bomb threats and "the threat was declared not bona fide."

4 detained after protesters charge line of cops outside Israeli consulate in Chicago Tuesday evening

[IsraelTimes] Police handcuff at least four people and lead them away from a pro-Palestinian demonstration after protesters charge a line of officers on the second night of the Democratic National Convention.

A small crowd of a few dozen protesters chanted “Let them go!” outside a Chicago skyscraper that houses the Israeli consulate while police penned demonstrators in on the street, preventing them from marching. Officers with wood clubs pushed protesters back, shouting “move.”

Some demonstrators set an American flag on fire in the street as the celebratory roll call for Vice President Kamala Harris took place 2 miles away. Others carried Palestinian flags, while many others wore black and covered their faces.

A man in Chicago Bulls hat, his face covered by a balaclava, called on protesters to “shut down the DNC.” The group, which is not the same coalition of over 200 groups that organized Monday’s protests, advertised the demonstration Tuesday under the slogan of “Make it great like ’68,” invoking the anti-Vietnam War protests that seized the city during the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Dozens of Chicago police officers are posted outside the building, where law enforcement had closed down most of the entrances, allowing commuters to come in only one entrance where armed officers were also posted. Many of the building’s shops were closed. Martha Hill, a spokeswoman for the Metra commuter rail service, says train service is running as normal.
Update as of just after midnight Wednesday:
More than a dozen pro-Palestinian demonstrators were arrested Tuesday during a protest that began outside the Israeli consulate and spilled out onto the surrounding streets on the second night of the Democratic National Convention.

The intense confrontations with officers began minutes into the demonstration, after some protesters – many dressed in black, their faces covered – charged at a line of police that had blocked the group from marching. They eventually moved past the officers, but were penned in several times throughout the night by police in riot gear who did not allow protesters to disperse. Officers called the demonstrations “an unlawful assembly.”

As protesters regrouped and approached a line of police in riot gear in front of a Chicago skyscraper that houses the Israeli consulate, an officer said into a megaphone, “You are ordered to immediately disburse.” A woman in the front of the march shouted back with her own megaphone: “We’re not scared of you.”
Police arrested 13 people and added additional security fences at a reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown park where pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protesters clashed with officers near the site of the Democratic National Convention ahead of a second day of planned protests Tuesday, including one outside the Israeli consulate.

The park, located a block from the convention arena, served as a destination point for a march of thousands calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
war. Several dozen activists broke off from the main group, breached the fencing, and were pushed back by police.

The 13 people arrested during Monday’s protest were detained on charges, ranging from criminal trespass and resisting and obstructing an arrest to aggravated battery of coppers, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said at a news conference Tuesday.

At least 10 of them were arrested in connection with the fence, he said.

Snelling said he did not connect the "brief breach" of security fencing "within sight and sound of the United Center" with the entirety of the march. He said the vast majority of participants were peaceful, and he praised his officers’ conduct in the moment.

"Our officers showed great restraint," he said. "We’re not going to tolerate vandalism and violence in our city. ... We’re going to continue to protect the city."

Snelling said some protesters used pepper spray against officers at the site where they broke through the fence. He said officers did not use any chemical sprays.

The Chicago chapter of the National Lawyers Guild said two of the people arrested were hospitalized. Snelling said they were taken to the hospital to ensure they would receive the medication they were taking.

Two people were also arrested on misdemeanor property damage and resisting arrest charges during a protest march Sunday night.

Authorities said the inner security perimeter surrounding United Center was not breached and there was no threat to those attending the convention.

On Tuesday morning, an extra line of fencing was installed at the park, and the tall metal barriers were reinforced to prevent protesters from lifting and removing the panels in the future. No coppers or protesters were present at the park early Tuesday.

Organizers had hoped at least 20,000 people would take part in Monday’s rally and march, but Snelling said about 3,500 people participated.

Snelling said more protests are expected as the week goes on, and his department is prepared to de-escalate situations whenever possible.

"Again, we’re up to the challenge," he said. "The city is up to the challenge."

Closer to downtown Chicago, security was tighter than usual — including law enforcement officers with weapons slung across their bodies — outside the office building that houses the Israeli Consulate and a major city transportation hub. Metal barricades were set up, and an officer said they were preparing for a 7 p.m. demonstration.

The consulate, located about two miles from United Center, has been the site of numerous demonstrations since the war in Gazoo began in October. It is in a building connected to the Ogilvie Transportation Center, a major commuter rail station.

Most of the largest demonstrations have been organized by the Coalition to March on the DNC (If you're white you ain't right!), which has focused on calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. But smaller protests have popped up around the city, including disruptions at the convention’s welcome party at Navy Pier.

Tim Walz's wife admits they never used IVF, despite him claiming they did
[POSTMILLENNIAL] Kamala Harris' running mate Tim Walz
...Kamala's smarmy-looking running mate, governor of Minnesota. One man's socialism is another man's neighborliness....
has repeatedly said that he and his wife Gwen used in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive their children. Now, CNN reveals, in Gwen's own words, that this isn't true. Walz used his own family's story of struggling with infertility as a political talking point to back his views on the reproduction industry, including abortion access.

Gwen Walz said that the couple used intrauterine insemination, a process colloquially called the turkey baster method, and not IVF, which involves the external fertilization of an egg which is then implanted into a woman's uterus. Intrauterine insemination involves placing sperm either near the cervix or into the uterus during a woman's ovulation.

"Like so many who have experienced these challenges, we kept it largely to ourselves at the time — not even sharing the details with our wonderful and close family. The only person who knew in detail what we were going through was our next door neighbor," Gwen Walz told CNN.

"She was a nurse and helped me with the shots I needed as part of the IUI process. I'd rush home from school and she would give me the shots to ensure we stayed on track."

That difference hasn't stopped Walz from spreading the message that he and Gwen benefited from IVF. "This one's personal for me about IVF and reproductive care," Walz said during a campaign stop in Arizona. "When we wanted to have children, we went through years of fertility treatment." On MSNBC in July, he made similar comments, going further to say "Thank God for IVF, my wife and I have two beautiful children."

Walz has repeatedly invoked his own experiences when discussing IVF and restrictions against abortion in the US. Being pro-abortion is one of the only policies that the Harris ticket has advocated for resolutely. Abortion access is something Harris wants to legalize at the federal level so that no state can restrict it by age of the woman or gestation period—at least that's what her record indicates.

Tom Elliott put together an epic thread of all the times Walz has made the false claim.

Biden-Harris DOJ alters headline on arrest of apprehended terrorist, conceals Jordanian identity
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] The Biden-Harris Department of Justice altered the headline of a blurb, concealing the identity of a Jordanian national who has been charged with four counts of threatening to use explosives as well as one count of destruction of an energy facility.

According to the Department of Justice, Hashem Younis Hashem Hnaihen, 43, who is a Jordanian national residing in the state of Florida, was indicted on the aforementioned charges. Hnaihen "attacked a power facility and threatened local businesses, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages," FBI Director Christopher Wray said of the crime. Court documents state that he targeted businesses in the Orlando area for their perceived support of Israel.

On Thursday, a blurb from the US Attorney's Office in the Middle District of Florida was set out with the title, "Jordanian National Indicted For Explosives Threats and Attack on Energy Facility," as seen in a link to the blurb on Google search from Thursday.

The title of the blurb was changed to "Man Arrested for Explosives Threats and Attack on Energy Facility" and is in step with the blurb from the Office of Public Affairs for the whole DOJ, which also bears the title, "Man Arrested for Explosives Threats and Attack on Energy Facility." The URL the blurb is found under still has the ending "jordanian-national-indicted-explosives-threats-and-attack-energy-facility," however the words "Jordanian" or "Jordan" do not appear on the page of the blurb from the Florida DOJ office as of Friday. News coverage of the incident blew up after the DOJ made the announcement.

Troops with the 162nd Division killed some 40 gunmen in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of southern Gaza’s Rafah over the past day, in clashes and by directing airstrikes, the IDF says.

In one incident in Tel Sultan, the military says troops with the Nahal Brigade spotted a cell of RPG-wielding operatives at a building and directed a drone to strike the site.

Further north, in Khan Younis, the IDF says troops with the 98th Division killed several more terror operatives and destroyed sites belonging to terror groups, including rocket launchers used in recent attacks.

In central Gaza’s Netzarim Corridor, reservists with the 252nd Division killed several terror operatives by directing airstrikes, according to the military.

In an incident in the central Gaza area, reservists of the Jerusalem Brigade killed two gunmen who emerged from a tunnel and attempted to plant a bomb near the troops, the IDF adds.

According to the military, Hamas was using the command room at the Mustafa Hafez School to plan and carry out attacks against troops in Gaza and against Israel.

The IDF says it carried out “many steps” to mitigate harm to civilians in the strike, including using precision munitions, aerial surveillance and other intelligence.

“The Hamas terror organization systematically violates international law, brutally exploiting civilian institutions and the population as a human shield for terror activity,” the military adds.

In recent months, dozens of airstrikes have been carried out against Hamas sites embedded within schools and other sites used as shelters for civilians, according to the IDF.

A spokesperson for the civil defense agency in Hamas-run Gaza says at least seven people were killed in the strike, including five men and two children.

Israeli strike targets Hezbollah site in Lebanon
[GEOTV] An Israeli strike on Monday evening targeted a Hezbollah arms depot in Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
's eastern Bekaa Valley, the Israeli military said.

The strike did not result in any fatalities, two security sources told Rooters. Lebanon's health ministry said of the eight injured six were Lebanese citizens and two Syrian children.

The Israeli military said its air force struck a number of Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in the area of Beqaa in Lebanon.

"Following the strikes, secondary explosions were identified, indicating the presence of large amounts of weapons in the facilities struck," the military said in a statement.

ATC discharges Bushra Bibi in dozen May 9 mayhem cases
[GEOTV] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday discharged former prime minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders...
's wife Bushra Bibi in 12 cases related to May 9, 2023 riots.

The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Malik Ejaz Asif at a makeshift court in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail. The hearing was also attended by investigation officers of the May 9 cases.

At the outset of the hearing, defence counsels gave arguments regarding Bushra's physical remand, whereas, the wife of the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) founder was represented by her counsel Salman Safdar and Advocate Malik Faisal.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
the ATC judge rejected the Rawalpindi Police's plea seeking phycial remand of the former first lady in the May 9 cases.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court decided to discharge Bushra in the cases.

Speaking to media outside the Central Jail Rawalpindi, Bushra's lawyer Safdar claimed that the court acquitted her in all cases in which she was nominated in light of different statements.

He added that the court also rejected the prosecution's evidence during today's hearing and rejected the credibility of any statement from a co-accused.

The lawyer said that the PTI founder was given a clean chit in the cipher case, however, a detailed verdict has not been issued yet.

Commenting on the ATC's verdict, he said that four prosecutors from the state appeared in today's hearing. Safdar said that the government reserved right to challenge the ATC verdict in any court.

Bushra has been behind bars for months in different cases since her arrest in the iddat case — also known as the un-Islamic nikah case — in February 2024, however, she and her husband were acquitted in the said case by a local court which overturned their sentences last month.

California moves ahead with $0 downpayment 'loans' for new homes for illegal immigrants
[POSTMILLENNIAL] The Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Senate Appropriations Committee has moved full speed ahead to allow illegal immigrants colonists the opportunity to make use of the state's zero-money-down, no-payment, "loan" program for buying a home. The move from the state chamber comes amidst the ongoing illegal immigration crisis at the southern border.

According to The Center Square, bill author Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula, D-Fresno wrote of the bill, ''The social and economic benefits of homeownership should be available to everyone. As such, the California Dream for All Program should be available to all."

''When undocumented individuals are excluded from such programs, they miss out on a crucial method of securing financial security and personal stability for themselves and their families," it added.

Bill AB1840 has already passed the state Assembly and will now move onto the floor of the Senate for a vote. The program allows for applicants to get "loans" for up to 20 percent of their home's price, with zero down payment on the loan and no payments on the loan.

The "loan" can then possibly be repaid back when the home is refinanced, sold, or transferred with the borrower paying back the loan amount in addition to 20 percent of any increased value on the real estate. However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
it is not clear what happens if a family decides to keep the property long term as no provision sets a limit on how long the loan can be used.

The California Appropriations Committee analysis stated that there would be "unknown significant cost pressures, potentially in the millions annually, to provide additional funding for the Home Purchase Assistance Program to accommodate the expanded eligibility population.''

18,000 people have applied for the "loan" program costing $255 million through lottery, with 1,700 winners getting $150,000 each to go towards down payments as well as closing.

Small town erupts in fury as landfill owners reveal it'll be processing radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] …that led to Japan A-bombs.

A small Michigan town has erupted with fury after a nearby landfill revealed it will process radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project.

The Wayne Disposal facility in Van Buren Township will be processing low-radiation atomic bomb byproducts from the 1940s Manhattan Project, which developed the bombs used in WWII and whose lead scientist inspired the Christopher Nolan blockbuster Oppenheimer.

The same facility also processed some of the waste from the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment, which released toxic chemicals into the air during the fire.

Residents are unhappy with the new developments, saying it's 'scary' and they worry about the health and safety of their families and neighbors, they told WXYZ.

'I don't like it,' Bonnie Coughlin, who has lived in the township for 70 years, told the outlet. 'I got my kids living next door, grandkids, and our neighbors. It's always been scary with that dump there.'

The waste will be coming from the Niagara Falls Storage Site - located in Lewiston, New York - which became the primary location for uranium ore byproducts related to the Manhattan Project.

The transportation plan says 25 vessels of waste will be dropped off each week in lined trucks between July and January. Each truck will have to be decontaminated before it can leave the facility, according to US Army Corps of Engineers.

Roughly 6,000 cubic yards of soil and concrete and 4,000 gallons of groundwater with elevated radiation levels will be disposed at the facility.

Republic Services said in a statement to WXYZ that the 'material will be accepted' from the site as it 'falls within the permit guidelines and will be managed safely, responsibly, and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.'

It also insisted the facility is 'highly engineered with multiple safety measures in place and frequent inspections and systems tests to ensure everything is operating as it should.'

In 2018, the US Army Corps of Engineers dumped 124,000 tons of radioactive soil and materials from Luckey, Ohio at the Michigan facility.

Then last year, more than 218,000 gallons of toxic liquid waste was delivered to the site.

Metropolitan Clement: The decision to ban the UOC contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The decision of the Kiev regime to ban the activities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in Ukraine contradicts the country's constitution, said the head of the information and educational department of the UOC, Metropolitan Clement. This was reported on August 20 by the Ukrainian publication "Strana.ua". He recalled that the Verkhovna Rada's legal department had previously established that the bill banning the church was inconsistent with several fundamental articles of the Ukrainian Basic Law, ratified by Kiev in international treaties.

“If millions of believing Ukrainian citizens knew that the current parliament would ban churches, then, obviously, a completely different composition would have been formed in the elections,” the priest added.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill on banning the UOC in its final reading. 265 deputies voted for it. The law will come into force 30 days after its publication.

The head of the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for Relations with Society and the Media, Vladimir Legoida, said that the ban on the UOC in Ukraine would lead to mass violence in the country. He also called this decision a gross violation of the ideas of freedom of conscience and human rights in relation to millions of believers.

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the decision of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations to support the bill banning the UOC, called those who support this initiative Satanists.

Russian Orthodox Church commented on the law banning the UOC
The law on the de facto ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) tramples on internationally recognized norms in the field of protecting religious freedom. This was stated on August 20 by Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, adviser to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.

“The law adopted by the Rada tramples on internationally recognized norms in the area of protecting religious freedom and provides the opportunity for further, broader expansion of anti-church persecution by the Kiev regime,” he said.

The Patriarch’s advisor added that the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church will assess “this act of persecution of canonical Orthodoxy in Ukraine.”

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on August 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the final reading a bill banning the canonical UOC. The law was supported by 265 deputies with 226 votes required, it will come into force 30 days after its publication.

The Administrator of the Chancery of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, Archpriest Seraphim Gan, stated that the ROCOR deeply sympathizes with the Ukrainian believers in connection with the adoption of this law. He wished them to be strong "in standing for the truth."

On August 17, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called those who supported the ban on the UOC in Ukraine Satanists.

Regnum IA observer Vladislav Sovin noted that only a victory by Russia can save Orthodoxy in Ukraine in the current situation. In his opinion, the globalist machine is interested in destroying the UOC, striving to sever all ties, including spiritual ones, between Russia and Ukraine.

Human Rights Council called on spiritual leaders and human rights activists not to allow the ban of the UOC
The HRC Standing Committee on International Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights addressed the spiritual leaders of the world, representatives of traditional religious confessions, international human rights organizations and called on them not to allow the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). This was reported on August 20 by Marina Akhmedova, a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation and editor-in-chief of Regnum News Agency.

“We called on them to raise their voices to prevent the destruction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which, of course, is not a Muscovite church, but a self-governing church with rights of broad autonomy within the Russian Orthodox Church,” Akhmedova wrote on her Telegram channel.

According to her, Ukraine has been preparing the ground for the ban on the UOC for so long that now it surprises no one and is happening as an ordinary event - quietly and unnoticed. However, this is all very serious and should not be surrounded by silence, the editor-in-chief of the news agency emphasized.

Akhmedova also pointed to the silence of religious and human rights international organizations. The member of the Human Rights Council recalled that people in Ukraine were thrown out of the bosom of their church and lost the right to freedom of religion.

The statement of the Human Rights Council was supported by the presidential adviser and Chairman of the Human Rights Council, Valery Fadeev.

“We hope that spiritual leaders will not ignore our appeal and will do everything possible to ensure that the right of UOC parishioners to freedom of religion in their churches and with their spiritual pastors remains inviolable,” follows from a statement published on the HRC Telegram channel.

It also notes that members of the commission on international cooperation in the field of human rights have repeatedly drawn the attention of international human rights activists to the repressions to which the UOC is subjected. The commission also recalled that we are talking about the ban on the largest religious organization in Ukraine and the deprivation of millions of its parishioners of the opportunity to be in the bosom of their canonical church.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on August 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the final reading a bill banning the canonical UOC. It was supported by 265 deputies with 226 votes required. The law will come into force 30 days after its publication.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the adoption in Ukraine of a law banning the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church is evidence of Kiev’s deliberate destruction of Christianity in violation of the country’s constitution.

Advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, stated that the law adopted in Ukraine tramples on internationally recognized norms in the area of protecting religious freedom.

Political scientist and HSE professor Marat Bashirov, in a conversation with the Regnum news agency, called the actions of Ukrainian politicians a political mess.

Former Home Depot CEO on Fed officials warning over jobs data: ‘About time' the government ‘got honest'
[FoxBusinessNews] The labor could be weaker than Americans realize, according to one Fed governor.

Home Depot’s former CEO is calling for the government to tell the truth, as Federal Reserve governors are warning about U.S. jobs data being inflated.

During an appearance on "The Evening Edit," Monday, Bob Nardelli suggested that the country’s jobs data is "woefully overstated," arguing that it's "about time" the government "got honest."

"You and I watch this very closely every month," Nardelli told host Elizabeth MacDonald in response to Federal Reserve Governors Michelle Bowman and Lisa Cook warning that job gains are overstated, and the labor market could be weaker than we realize.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is expected to release a sizable downward revision Wednesday, potentially lowering payroll growth by at least 600,000 jobs in the year through March.

What’s more, the Atlanta Fed cut its forecast for the third-quarter U.S. GDP to just 2%.

"There’s a lot of fanfare. They announce a number, and then they quietly adjust it a few months or weeks later," Nardelli stressed. "Now, even Goldman Sachs is talking about an adjustment between 600,000 to 1 million jobs."

According to Nardelli, the nation's largest employers last year including health care, government, hospitality and travel, will see numbers adjusted.

"Stellantis, the car manufacturer, just announced 2,500 jobs would be laid off. Manufacturing in the list I looked at was ranked 11th as far as job creation under this administration," he pointed out, "so yes, I think it's woefully overstated. And it's about time they got honest."

In response to the July jobs report showing U.S. job growth slowed to 114,000, while unemployment unexpectedly rose to the highest level in nearly three years, President Biden touted job creation under his administration.

"Since Vice President Harris and I took office, our economy has created nearly 16 million jobs, average unemployment has been lower than during any administration in 50 years, and incomes have risen faster than prices," the statement read.

Nardelli explained that "a lot of that was a bounce-back from COVID," warning that the job market is "tight," and that we will see that reflected in unemployment.

"We saw it last month. We’re going to see it go up again, Liz," he warned.

The next jobs report showing data for August will be released on September 6.

Given, We have had 3 political coups in 4 years, since 2020.

There is also the matter of $34+T in National Debt to consider.

Is part of this overall political upheaval, a process to wipe out that debt by eliminating the USA, and replacing it with the USSA?

eg. Russia -> USSR -> Russia doing USSR things

Then have the USSA sell off outer laying areas, protectorates and holdings as compensation?

#4  the adjustment was about -800k

fwiw, there was a big adjustment down in 2018 and a big adjustment up in 2022

the adjusted figures are based on reconciling BLS employer data with IRS data from employers; the IRS requires employers to file this and it includes unemployment insurance data

the total number 'employed' is a problem because of judgement on how to count people who only work a few hours a month, people who are temporarily laid off, people who are on strike, people who are on maternity leave, etc.

Ukrainian perspective: Operation in Kursk region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 21:33 American political consultant and journalist Jason Jay Smart visited Kursk Oblast and told Voice of America about his impressions. The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the US Chargé d'Affaires and lodged a protest with her "in connection with the actions of American journalists who illegally entered Kursk Oblast."

21:25 The Kursk operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not lead to changes in military cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, said Deputy Pentagon Spokesperson Sabrina Singh.

21:16 Syrsky showed a map of the operation in the Kursk region. According to the map, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are 12 km from the village of Glushkovo. They also control Martynovka, located on the road from Sudzha to Kursk.

Syrsky showed a map of the operation in the Kursk region

19:00 Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova reported that Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets visited Russian prisoners from Kursk Oblast and sent her a video. "We agreed that we would visit simultaneously: I would visit Ukrainian prisoners, and he would visit our prisoners of war," she added.

18:52 The Ukrainian Armed Forces already control 93 settlements in the Kursk region, have advanced into the enemy’s defense depth from 28 to 35 km, and have established control over 1,263 sq. km of territory, Syrsky reported.

17:21 Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov held a meeting of the Coordination Council on military security of border territories, where areas of responsibility were defined. Thus, a representative of the General Staff and the commanders of the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk groups are now responsible for protecting citizens and territories "from drone attacks and other means of attack."

17:13 Zelensky called the priority of the operation in the Kursk region "replenishment of the exchange fund for Ukraine." According to him, "we are achieving the set goals" in the Kursk direction.

17:00 The operation in Kursk Oblast is one of the most complex military operations that has already gone down in history, said Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. "The guys should feel our support every day in everything, including material support. Now they will receive the same payments and benefits as the soldiers on the front lines. This also applies to their families," the minister noted, commenting on the adoption of the new bill.

14:44 The Rada adopted a bill guaranteeing Ukrainian military personnel fighting on Russian territory, particularly in the Kursk region, the same payments and preferences as those on the front lines.

14:39 Putin ordered his military to push Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region by October 1, but not to withdraw forces from key areas in the Donetsk region - from the Pokrovsky and Toretsky directions, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing a source in the military-political leadership.

11:12 Ukrainian troops are close to encircling Russian units on the Seim River in the Kursk region. Up to 3,000 Russians may be taken prisoner, writes Bild. The publication recalls that since August 16, Ukrainian troops have begun blowing up bridges across the Seim in the north of the Glushkovsky district. This could cut off the Russian Armed Forces group, since the area is surrounded by Ukrainian territory from the west and south. "In response, Russia is organizing pontoon crossings and an air bridge, and is also defending the remaining passage in the east. The day before, the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured the villages of Snagost and Apanasovka there. They are 5 km away from the Seim River and the closure of the cauldron," the newspaper writes.

Bild open data analysis expert Julian Repke notes that the state border between Russia and Ukraine in the south and west of the cauldron is prepared for defense. But it will be difficult for the Russians to defend themselves if the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack from the east. In addition, in the west, the Ukrainians have already crossed the border and taken control of a small section of Russian territory of 15 square kilometers up to the Seim River. The Otruba farm is located there. "The Russians now have a simple choice: fight and defend this territory or retreat. Obviously, both options are fatal for them. But it must be said frankly that this battle is not decisive. Because we do not know how much strength Ukraine has left," Repke added.

10:57 A Ukrainian fighter jet hit a Russian underground command post in the Kursk direction with an AASM Hammer guided bomb, Air Force Commander Nikolai Oleshchuk reported and showed a video:

08:45 The Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region are trying to isolate more than 480 square kilometers between the Ukrainian border and the Seim River, Forbes writes. The publication notes that, according to satellite images, "the three permanent bridges that the Ukrainians attacked between Friday and Monday were the only major permanent bridges in the area," so now the Russians are relying entirely on pontoon bridges, which are much easier to destroy.

"If the Ukrainians have concentrated enough reconnaissance and strike assets to destroy three permanent bridges in four days, there is probably no reason why they cannot also destroy any temporary bridges that appear in the same area," the journalists state.

00:30 A fire broke out on one of the Russian pontoon crossings in the Kursk region, OSINT investigator Oliver Alexander reported, citing satellite images. In particular, the fire broke out on the Russian troops’ crossing over the Seim River to the east of the village of Zvannoye. It was probably caused by strikes by Ukrainian forces. Later, information emerged that one of the pontoon crossings that the Russians built on the Seim River had disappeared.

Government Corruption
Glaring Secret Service Incompetence Or An Inside Job?
[News With Views] I love talking about the Kennedy assassination. The reason I do is because I’m fascinated by it. I’m fascinated that our government could lie to us so blatantly, so obviously for so long, and we do absolutely nothing about it. —Bill Hicks — Comedian who died at 32 of pancreatic cancer.

The important thing to know about an assassination or an attempted assassination is not who fired the shot, but who paid for the bullet. —Eric Ambler — English author of thrillers.

It’s been 61 years and we still don’t have the documents on the JFK murder. CIA Director, Mike Pompeo convinced President Trump to once again withhold the information from the American public. Why?

Martin Armstrong of Armstrong Economics wrote about the secret service (SS) and how bodyguards have a history of assassinating heads of state. President Nixon refused SS agents. He had threatened the CIA by telling them he knew who killed Kennedy. Deep State intel set Nixon up for the fall and got rid of him, just like the FBI got rid of General Mike Flynn with the help of Pence and Priebus.

In Leo Hohmann’s recent Substack article, he exposed the truth regarding targets of assassins. "The three-letter agencies will not hesitate to use assassination at home or abroad against anti-war politicians who buck the system, which was designed to empower the military industrial complex."

Mike Pompeo wanted to poison Julian Assange. What did he do to deserve 12 years in prison? He had the nerve to defy, by publishing an enormous amount of "classified" — that is to say hidden — data, in Wikileaks, given to him by government-employed whistleblowers.
All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed, they must rely exclusively on force. —George Orwell

In 1975 a Senate committee headed by Frank Church found that the [Central Intelligence] Agency had planned a number of assassination operations, using everything from poison to machine guns and sometimes mob hit men. —Jim Garrison

Jim Garrison was absolutely right. When Mike Pompeo was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, he planned to kidnap and poison Julian Assange, a totally illegal and unconstitutional act by the CIA.

Assange had been given information that Samsung TVs were able to listen in to private conversations in homes when the TV was allegedly off. CIA agents then listened to recordings. Vault 7: CIA Hacking Tools Revealed was published by Wikileaks on March 7, 2017. Not a good thing for the CIA. Years back, a gal at our church whose son worked for Samsung told her this was true.

Julian was already the target of investigations by the CIA, the FBI, and the departments of Defense, Justice, and State over his publication in 2010 of the government’s own communications proving its culpability in war crimes. Wikileaks’ unedited gun-camera video released on July 12, 2007, shows two Reuters journalists and numerous Iraqis killed by fire from an American chopper. It was a video called "Collateral Murder."

Yahoo! News investigation reporter, Mike Isikoff, told Democracy Now that Mike Pompeo was in a frenzy over the Vault 7 leak. Code-named "Vault 7" by WikiLeaks, it is the largest ever publication of confidential documents on the agency. This happened on Pompeo’s watch and his campaign against Assange went into overdrive.

Pompeo defined Wikileaks as a hostile intelligence service rather than what it was...a publisher. The CIA planned to work with the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to prepare a kidnapping and possible poisoning of Assange. Fortunately, Pompeo failed and Assange is home in Australia after being released from London’s Belmarsh prison where he spent nearly five years in solitary confinement.

So, why wouldn’t the CIA plot and carry out other assassinations? Robert Kennedy Jr. is convinced his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, was murdered by the CIA.

Wait for Iran's retaliation against Israel 'could be long': Revolutionary Guards
[GEOTV] There could be a long wait for Iranian retaliation against Israel, Iran's Revolutionary Guards spokesperson Alimohammad Naini said on Tuesday.

The Middle East has been bracing for Iran's avowed retaliation over the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied that it was behind the killing.

"Time is in our favour and the waiting period for this response could be long," Naini said, referring to potential retaliation against Israel.

He said "the enemy" should wait for a calculated and accurate response.

Iranian leaders were weighing the circumstances and the Islamic Republic's response might not be a repeat of previous operations, he added, according to Iranian state media.

Iran and Hamas have accused Israel of carrying out the strike that killed Haniyeh hours after he attended the inauguration of Iran's new president Masoud Pezeshkian.

[DHAKATRIBUNE] A little known website called Global Defense Corp has alleged that former Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and now exiled former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She was President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. , her son Sajib Wazed Joy, and niece Tulip Siddiq have reportedly embezzled over $5 billion in collusion with Russian officials by artificially inflating the cost of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP).

This website should not be confused with the US based Global Defense Corp, which according to Bloomberg is a company specializing in monitoring and maintaining security system devices such as burglar and fire alarms. The website, global defense corp, has previously posted stories that appear more like blogs than news reports, that need evidence and corroboration. Such as the story on S Alam where journalists found copies of donations to Cyprus in exchange for a passport and the shell companies he used to buy apartments in Singapore.
