[WKYT CBS] 1 dead, several unaccounted for following massive explosion in Lincoln County.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says the explosion happened in the are of Bowens Loop Road in the Moreland community near Junction City and Hustonville. U.S. 127 was closed in the area as a result, as emergency directors have set up a command center. At its peak, the flames reached approximately 300 feet in the air.
"It was impressive. It's tragic. We hope it doesn't get worse," Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Don Gilliam said.
The Lincoln County Coroner's Office confirms at least one person is dead. Several structures caught fire in the area of the Indian Camp subdivision. Those flames were extinguished Emergency managers say five others are injured, and up to seven people are still unaccounted for.
Emergency managers say a ruptured gas line was the cause of the explosion. Crews have been able to shut off the gas. Crews evacuated 75 people from the scene, and several others voluntarily evacuated. Some of those displaced went to New Hope Baptist Church for shelter. Some have since left the shelter and returned to their homes. Authorities are asking those who live in the area of Indian Camp who have not been accounted for to check in at the church.
Crews are assessing the damage during daylight hours. Kentucky State Police Trooper Robert Purdy tweeted photos showing areas void of grass and vegetation. Railroad tracks in the area were also destroyed.
The pipeline is the Texas Eastern Transmission, which is owned and operated by Enbridge. The pipeline stretches more than 9,000 miles ranging from the Mexican border in Texas to New York City.
"Enbridge is aware of and is responding to a rupture on the Texas Eastern system in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Our first concern is for those impacted by this event and ensuring the safety of the community. Our teams are coordinating with first responders to secure the site. We have isolated the affected line and are working closely with emergency responders to manage the situation. We will provide more information as it becomes available," a company spokesperson said.
Authorities are asking the public to stay away from the area. Jodie Coulter lives near where the explosion happened, and she said she was able to get to safety with her husband but not before she suffered burns.
“It was hot. Look at the siding, and you could see it melting," Coulter said. "I had to get away from there as fast as I possibly could.”
Viewers in several counties reported seeing the fire, including people in the Lexington metropolitan area.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Bailey says the fire showed up on the Louisville weather radar.

The Lincoln County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Lisa Denise Derringer, 58, of Stanford.
Emergency managers say five others are injured. Everyone else was accounted for.

My first thought was that maybe DOJ lawyers didn't want to prosecute because they couldn't prove Comey intended to violate the law because they had a stronger case with the FISA abuses. The second thought was: "Screw that idea." Fire the proscutors if they won't prosecute. The DOJ and FBI didn't have any qualms about ginning up fake cases on the basis of procedural issues against Flynn, Manafort and Papadopoulos. The cabal was obsessed with trying to "get" Trump and exonerate Hillary. IMO, they should slam all these bastids with everything they've got--no mercy.

The results are already a hit, as restaurants like Five Guys have used the patties made from naturally processed vegetables to huge success.
Meat is now trying to see if the process can be repeated with other animals. They’re currently testing their process on a chicken, though they say that, so far, the results aren’t as good as from the cow unless the product is breaded and fried.

Greta Thunberg is to sail across the Atlantic in a high-speed racing yacht next month to attend UN climate summits in the US and Chile as part of a sabbatical year the 16-year-old Swedish climate activist will spend in the US.
"Good news! I'll be joining the UN Climate Action Summit in New York, COP25 in Santiago ... I've been offered a ride on the 60ft racing boat Malizia II. We'll be sailing across the Atlantic Ocean from the UK to NYC in mid August," Greta tweeted. The journey will take two weeks.

It's exotic fiber-reinforced composites for the hull, synthetic fiber and fabric for sails and rope, metal mining and fabrication for fittings, and let's not forget the computers to run the CAD/CAM software used to design the boat and whatever testing simulations. Since we've got computers, we need electricity and a way to generate and transmit it. It's probably got a GPS on board, so we need some rockets and a satellite constellation.

What do successful communities of color value, figure that out and maybe these marginalized communities will find where things are going wrong.
In India they value family and education. In China its family and education. In Japan its family and education. In Korea its family and education.

[Yahoo] - There has been a sharp drop in the size of Afghanistan's National Defense Security Forces in the past few months due to changes in the way troops are counted and an effort to reduce the number of so-called "ghost" soldiers, a U.S. government watchdog said on Thursday.
The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) said in a report that ANDSF personnel size had gone down by nearly 10 percentage points in the most recent quarter compared to the previous trimester.
The number of ANDSF troops fell by nearly 42,000 compared to roughly the same period, between April and the end of June last year, the report said.
The disclosure comes as Washington attempts to clinch a framework peace agreement with Taliban insurgents that is expected to include a timeline for withdrawing U.S. troops, which now number about 14,000 in Afghanistan.
Some 9,000 of those forces are involved with training, advising and assisting Afghan security forces. U.S. officials have long expressed concerns about the strength and capability of the Afghan forces, especially without adequate international support.
SIGAR, citing information from the U.S.-led coalition, said the decline in Afghan force levels owed to a move by the ANDSF to switch their reporting of personnel strength to the number of biometrically validated forces, rather than just the number reported on-hand by officials in the field.
"The change was part of an effort by the United States and its partners to reduce opportunities for corrupt ANDSF officials to report 'ghost' (nonexistent) soldiers and police on personnel rolls in order to pocket the salaries," the report said.

[Gateway Pundit] DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz is preparing a very damning report on James Comey’s conduct in the days leading up to his firing that will likely conclude he leaked classified information (memos) and lacked candor (lied).
According to a report out by award-winning investigative journalist John Solomon, Horowitz’s team referred James Comey for possible prosecution for leaking contents of his classified memos, but DOJ prosecutors under Bill Barr have decided to decline prosecution.
John Solomon does say however that Comey still isn’t out of the weeds yet and faces legal jeopardy in the ongoing investigation into FISA abuse and the origins of Spygate by US Attorney John Durham.

[The Federalist] The most important thing about the "safe third country" agreement the Trump administration signed with Guatemala last week isn’t the pact itself, but how it got signed in the first place.
Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales initially didn’t want to sign the pact, which will force migrants passing through Guatemala en route to the United States to seek asylum first in Guatemala. But he agreed to it after the Trump administration threatened to impose tariffs, a travel ban, and taxes on remittances sent from the United States.
If that seems heavy-handed on Trump’s part, it is. But it shows that the Trump administration has real leverage over Central American elites who run what are essentially failed states, and that putting pressure on them can get them to do things they don’t want to do.
The pact, for what it’s worth, stipulates that Hondurans and Salvadorans, as well as migrants from other countries, have to apply for asylum in Guatemala, and be denied, before being eligible to apply for asylum in the United States. Such agreements are not uncommon‐the United States has one with Canada, for example. But Guatemala, like Honduras and El Salvador, is plagued by high levels of violence and corruption, and isn’t really a safe third country for migrants. It’s also unclear whether the agreement is even valid under Guatemalan law.
But if we’re serious about solving the border crisis, safe third country pacts aren’t nearly as important as forcing Central American elites to tackle corruption, organized crime, and drug cartels. Corruption affects almost every area of society in the Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, and helps fuel the violence and poverty that migrants say is driving them to seek protection in the United States. It’s long past time to stop pretending that the leaders of these countries aren’t at least partly culpable for this state of affairs, or that nothing can be done to put pressure on them.

I had an idea. We could exchange Progressives for illegal immigrants' citizenship, at a 1:1 ratio. Progressives are sent back to wherever the illegals came from with nothing, stripped off all assets, which are seized by the federal government as a fee of the transaction. Everybody wins. Many are tenant farmers fleeing coffee fungus destroying their livelihood. The only coffee growing country attempting to do anything about it is Columbia. Not the Central Am states or Jamaica or Hawaii, or the Pacific Islands or Africa or Brazil. Kill the coffee fungus or breed a variety(s) of coffee immune to it and most of these tenant farmers will have no real reason to leave home.

Good question, Abu. There are two kinds of benign. One is the pansy benign - those that believe in their ideals, being harmless, helpful and humanist. [DAWN] After two days of sporadic showers and extended power outages, the water supply to large parts of Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... has been disrupted due to the shutdown of an important pumping station.
According to a spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), electricity supply to the North-East Karachi (NEK) pump has been disrupted after the grid station supplying it was flooded with rainwater.
He said power had been suspended since 8:35pm on Tuesday, as a result of which the pumping of water from the NEK pump had also stopped.
As per the KWSB spokesperson, they were unable to provide 160 million gallons of to water various parts of the city. Gulistan-e-Jauhar, New Karachi, North Karachi and Scheme 33 were completely affected by the disruption while Gulshan-e-Iqbal was partially affected.
While asking citizens to conserve available water, he said that as soon as the electricity supply is restored, the provision of water will resume.

The National Defense Council also noted that "Turkey’s position on the Eastern Mediterranean is based on the intent to ensure peace and stability in the region, and to contribute to developing regional cooperation."
"Turkey will continue to adhere to a decisive and principled position aimed at defending the legal interests of Turkey and TRNC [Ottoman Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus] in the Eastern Mediterranean based on the norms of international law," the communique said.
The discussion about establishing a buffer zone on the Ottoman Turkish border with Syria first started back in 2013. Several options were considered, including a no-fly zone and security zone on the Syrian territory for refugees. Ankara revisits this idea every year but it does not proceed any further for varying reasons.
Last week Turkey held consultations with the United States on establishing a security zone. On July 24, Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara and Washington did not reach an agreement on this issue. "Turkey has not reached an agreement with the US on how deep the security zone should be and on who would control it." Ankara says that the buffer zone should be 30-40 km deep.

Its 52 km border border with Afghanistan's Kunar Province makes it of strategic importance to Pakistain's strategic depth... , who was looking to carry out the suicide attack against a security official.
The National Directorate of Security also added that the security forces also confiscated a suicide kaboom vest a pistol from the detained individuals.

They’re the Turkish branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, ruprecht. They’re in competition with the Saudis (wahhabism) and Iran (Shiism) for the role of center of the Muslim world. Turkey funds high quality education around the world with a Turkey-oriented religious twist — previously via the Gulen schools, now directly — the Saudis fund mosques, imams, and wahhabi-style Sunday school teaching materials (and, of course, jihadis), while the Mad mullahs fund local Shiite resistance groups after getting the locals excited enough to decide to start resisting.
Or so it seems to me. Others may see more deeply into things.

Watched a YouTube interview with Grace Slick recently. She did not have good things to say about the original Woodstock. Some guys might have gotten lucky and scored some numb skulled hippie chicks. But when you look at those old pictures of people camping in the mud, listening to lame wad Richie Havens and bumming out on bad acid, it doesn't really look like a whole lot of fun.

[FREEBEACON] Democratic freshman representative Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) received a generous donation during the second quarter in the name of a man who died more than 10 years ago, a review of campaign and online records shows.
Tlaib's campaign committee, Rashida Tlaib for Congress, hauled in donations of at least $2,000 from dozens of individuals between April 1 and June 30. One of those contributions was from George S. Farah Sr., a Michigan businessman, real estate developer, and community leader who made his way from Paleostine to the United States in the mid-1950s. Farah passed away on Feb. 1, 2009, from heart failure, according to a Michigan Live article published at the time of his death.
On June 22, Tlaib's campaign received a $2,500 donation in his name, Federal Election Commission filings show. A search of public records, which also state that he is deceased, provides an address identical to the one written on the contribution to Tlaib's campaign committee. Grand Blanc Township property records also show that the residence located at that address is registered in Farah's name along with that of his widow.
Tlaib is the sole federal politician to receive a donation in Farah's name for the 2020 election cycle. In the past, Rep. Dan Kildee (D., Mich.) has also received contributions from Farah following his passing. Kildee, who first ran for the House of Representatives during the 2012 election cycle, was given $1,400 in total contributions in Farah's name between 2011 and 2017. The two Democratic Michigan representatives are the only federal politicians who received money in Farah's name for the past 10 years.
Federal law prohibits making campaign contributions in the name of another individual.
"It is illegal to make a campaign contribution in the name of another person and a campaign must ensure all donor information is reported accurately," said Kendra Arnold, executive director of the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust. "The requirement of accurate disclosure of campaign contributors is important to inform voters of the source of campaign funds, prevent corruption, and ensure individuals are contributing within the legal limits."
Tlaib's campaign did not respond to a request for comment before publication. A front man for Rep. Kildee's campaign, however, did.
"Gisele Farah is the sole beneficiary of a trust in her late husband's name, George S. Farah Sr., who passed away in 2009," the Kildee campaign front man said. "Since his death, Gisele Farah, as the sole beneficiary in control of the trust, has contributed to the campaign with funds from her trust. Our campaign's records have been amended to clarify that the campaign contributions were from Gisele Farah and should be designated under her name."
Inquiries sent to West Second Street Associates, a real estate investment and development company founded by Farah and run by members of the Farah family, were not returned.
Donations in the names of deceased individuals have occurred in the past. Between Jan. 2009 and Aug. 2013, 32 contributions totaling $586,000 from people marked as "deceased" in campaign records made their way to political candidates and parties, according to a 2013 report from USA Today.

But that wasn't the case Saturday in the waters just off the coast of Pasco County.
The Pasco Sheriff's Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and an FWC nuisance wildlife trapper responded to reports of an alligator bothering swimmers off of Durney Key, just west of Port Richey.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the gator was chasing swimmers in the Pithlachascotee (or Cotee) River, a popular spot for scallopers that feeds into the Gulf.
The trapper captured the alligator, the Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post, with help from Sheriff's Office Maritime Operations deputies.
No swimmers were maimed.
The alligator was transported to a safe location by the trapper, according to the post. "a safe location" = "jerky smoker"

[NYPOST] A black teenager in Ohio was caught on video chasing four individuals with a pistol ‐ firing multiple shots at them and allegedly shouting, "I don’t like white people in my hood!"
Court papers obtained by WKRC outline the alleged incident, which unfolded on July 25 in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood of Cincinnati.
Devonta Allen, 18, was walking down a local street when he spotted his alleged victims inside two different cars, the court papers say.
He allegedly fired three shots at them ‐ hitting both vehicles, but missing everyone inside.
Video captured at the scene reportedly shows Allen chasing after the cars and unloading his pistol. He can be heard saying, "I don’t like white people in my hood" just before opening fire, according to Channel 2.
Allen wound up turning himself in to police Monday night. He allegedly confessed to shooting at the victims, but claimed they were armed and had fired at him first.
The teen is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on felony assault charges. It’s unclear if he was behind bars Tuesday.

[ToloNews] Former head of Afghanistan’s intelligence agency and vice presidential candidate Amrullah Saleh on Wednesday said that the attack on his office in Kabul was carried out by the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... Talking to TOLOnews in his first media appearance after the attack, Mr. Saleh labelled the Taliban as the enemies of the Afghan people and said the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... had informed him about such an attack three days before.
At least four attackers were involved in the siege which started with a boom-mobileing at around 4:40 pm Kabul time on Sunday, July 28. It targeted the Green Trend office, a political movement run by Mr. Saleh, in Shaheed Circle in Kabul’s PD4, in an area surrounded with civilian houses, a university, and a small township.
Mr. Saleh was in his office along with almost 100 people when the attack happened. He was sharply evacuated from the area.
Photos on social media showed Mr. Saleh with a stain of blood on his right arm.
The attack ended at around 11 pm on Sunday night after all four attackers were bumped off.
The complex attack happened hours after Mr. Saleh attended the inaugural ceremony of their electoral campaigning with incumbent President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... and the Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish.
According to Mr. Saleh, at least 30 people, 22 of them members of the Green Trend movement, bit the dust including two members of his family.
"I was not assuming that they (insurgents) use a truck full of explosives to target me. I think there are several reasons for attacking me, and one of the reasons is that they (insurgents) want to disrupt and remove the determination of those humans who want to oppose and stand against Pakistain, ISIS and Taliban, but keeping in mind that we are not against Pakistain as a state, but oppose the interreference by it," Mr. Saleh said.
He said he resisted the attackers alongside his six colleagues for 55 minutes and then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace through a way on the rooftop.
"When they (attackers) took position here, four or five minutes later, the bandidossnuffies came here and wanted to come on the top. So we clashed with them for 55 minutes and I was there. Humayoun, Alim and Amin were here and fought and they were maimed," Mr. Saleh added.
Mr. Saleh however said that the Afghan government will continue its efforts for talks with the Taliban.
[DAWN] Britannia has denied hundreds of former slaves the right to stay in the country and access support or care services, despite authorities confirming that they were trafficking victims, data published on Tuesday showed.
Government data revealed under the Freedom of Information Act found that between 2015-17, Britannia’s Home Office did not allow 752 people ‐ or about four in ten non-Europe ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... an victims ‐ to remain after they were recognised as being trafficked.
All were from non-European countries such as Vietnam and Nigeria, according to the report by the British Red Thingy, Hestia and Ashiana, charities that support slavery survivors.
"Modern slavery is rife in our communities and the need for long-term support is vital to ensure victims can rebuild their lives," said Abigail Ampofo, operations director at Hestia.
"Without this support, we know that many victims are forced back into slavery and the cycle of abuse continues." People who say they have been enslaved can enter the National Referral Mechanism and access care while the government considers their case ‐ which can take from weeks to years.
Since February, those who are confirmed as victims receive 90 days of additional support, up from 45 days previously, the government said.
But they do not have the right to access further help thereafter, nor are they automatically given the right to stay in the country, which leaves survivors at risk of homelessness or fresh exploitation, according to anti-slavery activists.
"The situation is particularly bad for people without a secure immigration status," said Naomi Philipps, head of policy and advocacy at British Red Thingy, in a statement.
"Too often we see these people at risk of falling back into exploitation because they are unable to find somewhere to live or a way to feed themselves." The charities urged the government to extend the support period to 12 months, and to let survivors of slavery stay in the country for at least 30 months in order to rebuild their lives.
Providing a year of assistance could boost Britannia’s public purse by up to 6.6 million pounds ($8.14 million) as survivors would be more employable, and the need for medical or housing services would reduce, said Nottingham University researchers.
A Home Office front man said it was committed to stamping out modern slavery and supporting victims.
"We have already significantly increased support for victims earlier this year, including the length of time that an individual can receive support," he said in emailed comments.
"We will continue to drive improvements to the services available to ensure they are meeting the recovery needs of victims." Britannia has described itself as a world leader in the anti-slavery drive, having passed the Modern Slavery Act in 2015.
About 7,000 suspected victims were uncovered in Britannia last year, up a third on 2017, according to data that activists say raises concerns about the government’s ability to support them.

[BREITBART] A group of supporters of 2020 White House hopeful and Marianne Williamson has put together an "occult task force" in support of the spiritual guru; however, her campaign is none too pleased about the move. Conjure something for us.
In an interview with the Washington Post, the anonymous individual heading up the "task force" told the Jeff-Bezos owned newspaper that 13 witches, chaos magicians, and energy workers performed "gestures" in an effort to get Williamson more speaking time during Tuesday’s Democrat presidential primary debate in Detriot, Michigan. But did they utter Words of Power?
"The whole orb gang community is tapping into the power of memes to reflect back on, and multiply, the sort of pulsing undercurrents of our collective unconscious," the person emailed the Post. According to the publication, Williamson supporters refer to themselves as the "orb gang," who share memes of the candidate on social media. Expecto memo!
After catching wind of the "task force", the Williamson campaign told the Post that it’s deeply uncomfortable with their activities, citing their usage of the term "occultist." They're afraid they'll conjure some sort of demon.
"I am very, very concerned about the word occultist," Patricia Ewing, the spiritual guru’s campaign spokesperson, told the newspaper, before stating she was unaware of the "task force’s" existence. "Nope. Never heard of them!"
Then her lips fell off.

[BREITBART] The Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte cancelled a theater performance called "The Coronation of Our Lady of the Transvestites" after the local Church protested the anti-Catholic nature of the show. Well, that certainly sounds offensive. I wonder if it was by accident? "WE SO Edgy!"
As the online Catholic news site Crux reported Tuesday, the archbishop of Belo Horizonte, Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, released a statement calling the production "a prejudiced and criminal action of disrespect of the Catholic Christian faith." No! Re-e-e-e-ally?
The show was created by the artistic group Academia Transliteraria and featured transvestite, transsexual, and transgender artists. During the performance, which includes a mock procession, actors distribute leaflets to the audience with a prayer to "Our Lady of the Transvestites" and sing parodies of Catholic hymns, inviting the audience to join in. "Join us in our deviance so we feel accepted and we'll have company when we're burning in hell!"
"We demand and hope that the competent authorities and the organizers suspend the event, given that it is an indisputable encouragement to prejudice and discrimination, disrespectful of the values of the Catholic Christian faith," the archdiocesan statement read. But how could he say that? It sounds like such understated good taste!
The archdiocese said that the event was "seriously endangering the peace and the proper respectful relationship between citizens." Meaning the solemn procession could expect its share of flung fruit and dog turds...
It is "not acceptable to exploit the Virgin Mary, disrespecting her" in order to promote "an aggression" against the Catholic faith, the text stated, while calling on all Catholics to "protest, demanding respect and the immediate suspension of this criminal action." How about next you do "The transvestite Imam"?
Along with the official statement from the archdiocese, an independent Catholic organization from Belo Horizonte called the Instituto Sao Pedro de Alcantara organized an online petition protesting the event, which garnered over 28,000 signatures. Just hours after the release of the Church statement, the mayor of Belo Horizonte, Alexandre Kalil, announced the cancellation of the show, which had been scheduled to be performed on July 20 in a taxpayer-funded cultural festival organized by the city government. Requiring the taxpayers to pay for people to make fun of them.
Kalil posted the news on his Twitter account: "I defend all liberties. I’m a Catholic, devoted to Saint Rita of Cascia. Don’t worry, nobody will attack any religion. This is not culture."
The theatrical company posted its own statement on Facebook, alleging that the show does not intend to "deny the faith of other people" and suggesting that it does not mock the Catholic Church. The group also accused the local government of censorship for cancelling the performance. I'm wondering how it doesn't mock the Catholic Church?

I would be against this cancellation under a great many circumstances. But it was at a taxpayer funded festival, so yeah, it should have been cancelled. Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for this (or for festivals in general, in my opinion).

"The Iranian partner incurred a lot of expenses," said the police chief.
"In addition to accommodation, health care, business tickets for flights...and the provision of an office with the most up-to-date facilities, (the Iranian partner) paid about 120 billion rials into the accounts of these two European nationals."
The partner later lodged a complaint and one of the European nationals who was in Iran was detained, he added.
