The First Photos of Lashana Lynch as 007 in James Bond Film No Time to Die Have Arrived
[Esquire] The announcement of Lashana Lynch’s casting as 007 this summer was big news, partially because of some confusion over the fact that she won’t be playing the actual character of James Bond in 2020’s No Time to Die, but a spy who inherits the codename in the wake of Bond’s retirement. Still, the casting of a black woman as 007 was pretty damn cool‐and now, the first images of Lynch on set in Italy are here.

In the photos, Lynch definitely looks the 007 part, wearing an action-ready black fatigue jumpsuit and strapped with enough fake ammo to take out a ton of henchmen. In the film, she plays a young MI6 agent who’s inherited the 007 codename, while Craig’s Bond emerges from retirement to in Jamaica to rescue a scientist who’s been taken hostage. It’s a venture that leads him "onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology," according to the movie’s official synopsis.

Susan Rice: Obama Put Call Transcripts On Top Secret Server, Too
Oh. Never mind — what’s the next Orange Man Bad panic?
[Federalist] Former national security adviser Susan Rice acknowledged last night that the B.O. regime moved transcripts of conversations with foreign leaders onto the same top-secret server where the Trump administration stored his recent phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"This is different, though, because shut up"
Appearing at the Texas Tribune Festival, Rice was asked how often this practice was engaged in during the B.O. regime, but did not answer that question, saying instead, "We never moved them over unless they were legitimately, in the contents classified." Rice did not explain what standard the B.O. regime used to determine what was legitimately classified. She said it is rare, although not impossible, that a presidential conversation could be classified to that highest level.

The revelation from Rice comes amid media reports and comments from politicians that have painted the use of this top secret server as proof that Trump was trying to cover up the contents of his conversation with the Ukrainian leader, a full transcript of which the administration has now released to the public.

But reporting from ABC News shows that this practice of securing presidential phone transcripts has been in use in the White House since early 2017, after sensitive conversations with foreign leaders were leaked to the press.

From ABC News: "The two calls in early 2017, with leaders from Australia and from Mexico, leaked early in Trump’s administration, and sources said the procedure to store them quickly changed ‐ many calls between the president and world leaders instead were stored in a secure server to avoid leaks. The sources who talked to ABC News did caution that it’s unclear if the calls being stored were done so for national security or for political concerns."

One source cited by ABC News described the practice as "basically standard operating procedure."

So from Rice we now know the decision to store the conversation on the top-secret server was not unprecedented, but a decision that Obama’s administration made multiple times as well, using its own discretion, just as the Trump administration has. And from ABC News’ reporting we know that this has been a long-standing practice in the Trump White House to protect against a high level of leaks.

Both of these revelations undermine the theory that in this specific case, some unique and bizarre method was used to hide the transcript and engage in a cover up. Rather, the Trump administration appears to have been engaging in business as usual.

Why did Fatah close its own official Facebook page? Fear
[Jpost] Fatah closed its own Facebook page, according to page administrator Munir al-Jaghoub.
He often speaks for the party, generally described a Fatah bigwig in the West Bank...
In an interview with Israeli media, Jaghoub said that, "We decided to close it down for a period of time as a precautionary measure. We were worried that Facebook would shut it down permanently because of that Israeli organization’s campaign and complaints against it."

Jaghoub was referring to the watchdog organization Paleostinian Media Watch (PMW), which has run a year-long campaign against the official Facebook page of Fatah, the Paleostinian Authority’s ruling party. Since February, PMW has released two separate, roughly 45-page reports documenting the ways in which the page was being used to glorify mass murderers and terrorists, who were responsible for hundreds of deaths.

Itamar Marcus, PMW’s CEO, recently spoke with the head of Facebook’s global counterterrorism policy team, Brian Fishman, about the organization’s findings. Marcus likewise accused the accused the social media giant of being "Fatah’s partner by choice" and of "promoting Paleostinian terrorism."

Earlier this month, PMW also launched a viral social media campaign called #CloseFatahFB.

A spokeswoman for Facebook told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday that it had not shut down the page, but was "in the process of reviewing that content to determine whether it violates our policies."

Marcus said that PMW views Fatah’s decision to close the page "as a striking indicator of the terror content" and that "there is no justification for Facebook to permit Fatah to reopen its page.

"We hope that Facebook will recognize what Fatah itself understands ‐ namely that its Facebook page promotes terror ‐ and keep Fatah’s page permanently closed," Marcus continued. "Facebook should not allow the Facebook platform to become once again a controller for Paleostinian terror promotion."

Intense Hong Kong clashes Sunday ahead of China's 70th anniversary
[Yahoo] Fierce clashes broke out between protesters and riot police in Hong Kong Sunday as thousands marched through the strife-torn city, during a day of global protests aimed at casting a shadow over communist China's upcoming 70th birthday.

Beijing is preparing for huge, tightly-choreographed festivities from Tuesday to mark the founding of the People's Republic of China, including a massive military parade that will revel in the country's emergence as a global superpower.

But ongoing unrest in Hong Kong threatens to upstage those celebrations as the semi-autonomous city boils with public anger over the erosion of its special freedoms under Beijing's rule.

Economy
Three Cheers for the Trade War
[American Thinker] There has recently been much weeping and gnashing of teeth over President Donald Trump's trade war with the People's Republic of China. The ire of this piece will be focused on those avaricious and morally blinded elements of the right who for a few trinkets can be persuaded ‐ nay, bribed ‐ to overlook the perversity of the Marxist butchers of Beijing. Truth be told, the very opening of Western trade with that most odious despotism was itself as morally idiotic as it was strategically idiotic, but it could at least have been somewhat excused as the attempt at convoluted intrigue against the Bolsheviks in Moscow. Nowadays, it is only the allure of filthy blood-soaked lucre and the intoxicating ideological fumes emanating from globalism that animate the defense of this "free trade" with the current masters of China.

...Every single Western dollar spent on the Chinese market feeds the dragon that is the CCP, which has feasted on the lion's share of all these riches, throwing the few crumbs left over to its proles. All this influx of Western capital has put weapons in the hands of China's army and secret police forces, funds its North Korean puppets and insidious fellow confederates such as the Iranians, and even trickles down to pay the petty criminals who lawlessly beat freedom-loving Hong Kongers while their own native police look on approvingly. It puts glittering jewels on the soft necks and well-manicured hands of the legions of concubines who dot like grains of sand the well-furnished harems kept by CCP bigwigs. This, they tell us, we must swallow for the sake of "free trade" and a "global market." Well, for some of us, the taste of it all is so revolting that we instantly vomit up the little we manage to swallow.

Donald Trump in his animalistic and instinctive way understands this, specifically as it relates to the economic perfidy of native job destruction via Chinese offshoring. The $64,000 question is thus, can any free man in the West compete with an Eastern counterpart, especially one under brutal communist discipline? The answer is no, he cannot, and more importantly, no, he should not. It was the utterance of blasphemies such as these among others that propelled Mr. Trump both to the nomination of the Republican Party and to the presidency of this nation. Those who sneer at such things will lose their condescending smirks as they begin to take a serious account of the exponentially growing number of conservatives who no longer fear excommunication for questioning the movement's blind faith in free trade uber alles.
IMO, nowadays "Free trade" is in the same class as "Human Rights", and "Religious Freedom"

Tank shell from Egypt damages synagogue during services at Israeli community
[IsraelTimes] A tank shell fired from Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula went kaboom! in the Israeli community of Bnei Netzarim Saturday morning, in what appeared to be a case of internal fighting between Egyptian forces and snuffies spilling over the border.

There were no casualties, though light damage was caused to the community’s synagogue. A parked car’s back windscreen was smashed.

The Ynet news site reported that there were several worshipers inside the synagogue for Shabbat services when the shell hit. Initial reports had indicated that the projectile was a mortar shell.

Why China thinks it's got a future President Biden in its pocket
h/t Instapundit
[NYPost] Six months ago, the Chinese walked away from the trade negotiations.

The move caught nearly everyone by surprise.

...But I think the real reason that China backtracked is named "Joe Biden." The former vice president had just ended months of speculation over his political future by announcing he was running for president on April 25.

...They had decided to run out the clock on President Trump’s first term, convinced that they would get a much better deal from a future President Biden.

Who can blame them? Biden has a long history of being a friendly voice for US-China relations. The Chinese side had every reason to expect that Biden, like Obama, would turn a blind eye to the theft of American jobs, factories, and intellectual property by an increasingly arrogant and rapacious PRC.

...But Beijing had another reason to bet on Biden: they had given sweetheart deals to his son, Hunter Biden.

As Peter Schweizer has documented in his book, "Secret Empires," the vice president took his son along on Air Force Two when he flew to Beijing in December 2013.

Not long after the father and son duo returned to the US, Hunter Biden’s small firm received a $1 billion private equity deal from the Chinese government. This was later increased to a cool one-and-a-half billion.

...At the time, the former vice president seemed like a sure bet ‐ not just to Beijing but to many on this side of the Pacific. The early polls suggested that he was a shoo-in for the Democrat nomination, and the odds-on favorite to beat Trump.

Betting the farm on Biden, the Chinese likely stiffed Trump’s negotiators.

Now they seem to be having second thoughts. Negotiators are crisscrossing the Pacific again, and the Chinese have placed a couple of big orders for farm products.

...Meanwhile, this being Trump, there is a price to pay for such perfidy. The tariffs are a little higher now and the terms of any future agreement will be even tougher.

Vice President Mike Pence did not mince words on Thursday when he said that the US will continue to insist that China make significant reforms to its economic system, including abandoning trade barriers, forced technology transfers and predatory subsidies for "national champion" businesses.

And Trump himself has made clear that, if no agreement is reached by the time of the 2020 election, Beijing will have an even steeper hill to climb during his second term.

Ukraine must investigate Joe Biden's son, says ex-Ukrainian PM

#1  I've just had an idea - that if Joe is not an idiot? I know it's radical, but consider the following hypothesis.
The Ukrainian government started an investigation of their predecessors' corruption (not for ethical reasons necessarily). And they need USA cooperation, because corruption they're investigating involved Obama admin/mandarinate extensive participation. Clever Joe enters 2020 POTUS race - even though he knows that with the economy, Democratic challenge to Trump is unrealistic. And immediately becomes immune - every single Democrat/jurnoscrote/bureaucrat/activist judge in USA (from the lowliest DMV clerk to Nancy Pelosi & Ruth Bader Meinhof Ginsburg) immediately becomes Joe's staunch defender.

Dozens of West Bank Palestinians cross into Israel in illegal border breach
[IsraelTimes] Saboteurs burn parts of fence, damage mechanical gate in the second such incident this week.

Dozens of Paleostinians illegally crossed into Israel from the West Bank Friday in a major breach of the border fence.

The incident happened in the area of Tulkarm in the northern West Bank near the Israeli city of Netanya, the Walla news site reported.

The border-crossers burned parts of the fence, and sabotaged a mechanical gate for the second time in a week.

The incident happened despite the fact that the army had recently strengthened its security apparatus in the area, including by fortifying the gate with concrete slabs.

In the earlier crossing, Paleostinians had damaged the gate, allowing vehicles to pass through, in an incident that was filmed and spread on Paleostinian social media, the report said.

Israeli residents of the area said the border crossings frightened them and that they were concerned about burglaries in the area. They expressed anger at the authorities’ failure to prevent the breach.

The IDF had yet to respond to the latest incident.

Tens of thousands of Paleostinians cross into Israel weekly to work jobs at construction sites, shops, restaurants and other places, where they can earn substantially higher salaries than in similar positions in the West Bank. Many are also employed illegally in the Jewish State.

Egypt’s security clampdown mostly thwarts fresh anti-Sissi protests
[IsraelTimes] Thousands of police on Cairo’s streets, and up to 2,000 arrests after last week’s demonstrations, largely stifle further action against the president.

Egyptian authorities lifted Saturday some tight security measures in the capital, Cairo, a day after they sealed off the main square and downtown thoroughfares to thwart a possible protest against the country’s president.

The measures were part of a harsh security clampdown following rare demonstrations in several cities last weekend, all of which were broken up by police.

Calls for fresh protests on Friday were largely stifled by the deployment of thousands of police in Cairo’s streets, but there was a small protest of at least three dozen people on el-Waraq island at the northern fringes of the capital, which was quickly dispersed, according to three witnesses who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.

Security personnel were visible in Cairo’s main streets and squares on Saturday but did not prevent normal traffic as in the past days. Tahrir Square, the epicenter of the pro-democracy uprising in 2011 that toppled longtime autocrat Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
, was reopened, as were subway stations in the area that had been closed the day before.

Last week’s small but rare protests against el-Sissi marked a startling eruption of popular dissent, which has been almost completely silenced in the past years by draconian measures imposed under the general-turned-president.

More than 2,000 people were arrested in the days after, according to right lawyers. The country’s general prosecutor said his office had questioned no more than 1,000 people over the protests.

The lawyers said prosecutors ordered those who were questioned to remain in jug for 15 days pending investigations into claims they took part in activities of an outlawed group and disseminating false news.

French police break up yellow vest protest with tear gas
[AlAhram] French police repeatedly used tear gas and water cannons to break up a protest Saturday by nearly a 1,000 yellow vest demonstrators in the southern city of Toulouse
...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France...
At least one arrest was made during the march, which started in the afternoon. It was led by demonstrators brandishing a giant banner which said "Fed up of surviving. We want to live."

They also burnt a parasol in front of a McDonalds outlet. In the capital Gay Paree, some yellow vests joined a climate protest march.

The weekly protest came two days after the French government unveiled a draft 2020 budget with more than nine billion euros in tax cuts for households.

It includes five billion euros in tax cuts for some 12 million households already promised by President Emmanuel Macron, the result of a "great national debate
... an expenditure of personal wind at the national level that leads to face-making and other histrionics but can't be shown to have ever solved an issue ...
" he held to try to address the ongoing protests.

Macron, who swept to the presidency in 2017 with a pledge to get the country back on a solid financial footing, was caught short by the "yellow vest" movement which accused the former investment banker of ignoring the day-to-day struggles of many French.

Demonstrations have been banned on the Champs-Elysees after protesters clashed with police on the famous Gay Paree avenue on December 8 last year, in the early days of the yellow vest protests.

On that weekend, police detained 900 people: the most since the anti-government protests began.

Graham coordinates with Jared to save Trump from new wave of attack
[PRESSTV] US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham
...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems...
is engaging in an attempt to defend President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
amid the Ukraine scandal.

The South Carolina senator, who played golf with Trump at the president’s club in Sterling, Virginia, on Saturday morning, rejected allegations that Trump acted against national security interests by pushing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate political rival Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020...
before enjoying the US military aid.

"In America you can’t even get a parking ticket based on hearsay testimony," tweeted Graham, once a Trump critic. "But you can impeach a president? I certainly hope not."

The Republican was reportedly heard on a JetBlue flight from Washington, DC, to Charleston, South Carolina, apparently coordinating his defense initiative with Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner.

"His phone rang and he answered, ’Hey, Jared!’ He was . . . saying he’s going to be on ’Face the Nation’ on Sunday. He said, ’Listen ‐ this is what I’m going to lay out,’ " according to the report. "He was like, ’We need to know why Hunter [Biden] was receiving $50K’ " for being on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma. "He then said, ’You can’t impeach someone on hearsay.’ He was laying out his story for Sunday."
So... ummm... this story is based on hearsay?

#6  #4 Polls, huh? They never asked my opinion, not that I'd give it to them. But that's kinda my point.

Exactly. The polls underestimate Trump's true support by at least 6-7 points. That corresponds to those supporters of his who are surrounded by deep-blue left-lib Kool-Aid drinkers, who now infest the corporate world and the federal bureaucracy in addition to their usual haunts.

It is impossible for anyone in the corporate world or state/federal bureaucracies to voice an opinion that is even remotely positive about anything Trump has done without risking career-ending retaliation.

We are living in a Soviet-lite system. No gujags, but the threat of social erasure and career extinction.

Given this climate of fear, why would anyone reveal - even to a pollster's call center dialers - his true political opinions? Data leaks are everywhere. Why risk having one's name entered into a database along with the label, "Supports Trump"?

Clearly there are at least 5-7 million such people in this country who will never take such a risk. But who will vote against the anti-Trump insanity come next November.

Yes. In the music world as well, which is where I find myself in a small way now that Mr. Wife has gotten involved in the Blues and Folk worlds. There are many times I am careful about what I say, or say nothing at all. But I’ve been finding it fascinating how often someone will quietly say something pro-Trump or anti-liberal to me, completely unsolicited, which has led to some fascinating conversations on the sidelines.

#9  This is a not uncommon syndrome in US politics: educated people say one thing publicly regarding their intentions and then behave an entirely different way in the privacy of the voting booth.

The degree of disconnect between surface and reality is directly proportional to the degree and severity of retaliation, denunciation, or persecution expected.

Today that fear is off the charts high. I've never seen anything like it in this country.

Maybe it was experienced by some lefties in Hollywood in the McCarthy era, but never have we seen such a generalized state of fear experienced by tens of millions of people across the entire country. This is new.

Because it's so new, our polling methods are completely inadequate to understand and capture it.

The polls are useless. Trump's support is far deeper and more solid than our media screamers and polling "experts" pretend.

Thailand appoints new chief peace negotiator
[BenarNews] Thailand’s National Security Council chief said Thursday he would take over next month as head of the Thai negotiating team in peace negotiations with southern insurgents, replacing his predecessor who was appointed only a year ago.

Wanlop Rugsanaoh, the outgoing NSC director-general, told reporters that Udomchai Thammasarorat had resigned as the top negotiator to assume his role as a senator. He said, “Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha has appointed me to be new the peace-talks delegation chief in place of Gen. Udomchai Thammasarorat."

A low-ranking southern insurgent said the change in leadership would have no impact on the peace process unless the rebel groups fulfilled their goal of merdeka, the Malay word for independence.

“I personally think no matter who becomes the chief of peace talks, it won’t make any difference if we can’t achieve Merdeka. The (Thai) government set up the peace-talks panel on a lark and played, so we also play our game,” the insurgent who identified himself as Fadueri, said.

He claimed he was a member of Barisan Nasional Revolusi (the National Revolutionary Front, or BRN), the largest among insurgent groups in Thailand’s southern border region.

Wanlop, an ex-director of the Ministry of Defense’s Office of Policy and Planning, has extensive experience dealing with top-level security officials from the United States and other countries.

The Thai cabinet endorsed Wanlop’s nomination as secretary-general of the National Security Council in August 2017. During a cabinet meeting at the time, Prayuth described Wanlop as “well-grounded in security and defense.”

According to police officials, the bomb was an improvised bomb (IED) which was planted in a cycle of violence parked on the roadside.

The explosion initially left Maulana Muhammad Hanif, a central leader of the JUI-F, critically injured. He was being shifted to Quetta when he departed this vale of tears on the way to the hospital, Dashti said.

Police said Hanif was the target of the attack.

The blast occurred on Taj Road in Chaman, which is located just kilometres away from the country's border with Afghanistan, and shattered windows in nearby buildings.

The dead include a 12-year-old child, Chaman District Police Officer Shaukat Mohmand told DawnNewsTV.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Chaman, where an emergency was declared.

Chaman is considered a sensitive town in Balochistan as it shares a border with Afghanistan's volatile Kandahar province.

#1  ...Not impossible, but damned unlikely. The Saudi Army is approximately eighteen brigades in size, so losing three - or even having them chewed up enough to go combat ineffective - would be a pretty serious hit. I'm thinking that were it true, the 82nd Airborne would be ramping up for a deployment, and the Marines would be inbound as well; a hole in the forces like that would simply be too much for the Iranians to resist.

Tear gas, water cannon fired at Hong Kong demo
[PRESSTV] Hong Kong police fired tear gas and water cannon to disperse anti-government protesters who threw rocks, broke windows and blocked a key road near the local headquarters of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA).

A series of protests in the Chinese-ruled city for and against Communist Party rulers in Beijing is planned ahead of the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic on Tuesday, October 1, including at the consulate of former colonial power Britannia.

The protesters, many dressed all in black and wearing masks, took cover under umbrellas from the water cannon and fled after the demonstrations had taken a familiar turn into festivities with police as they have done regularly over more than three months.

Police fired blue water, used in other countries to help identify offenders, as protesters regrouped 100 yards (metres) away.

They had smashed windows of government offices and tried to break in, shouting obscenities and daubing slogans on shop-fronts. They had also shone lasers at a helicopter hovering overhead.

NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo Blasts Impeachment Push, Blames Leftists
[THEFEDERALIST] On Wednesday evening at an event on "political civility" with ex-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, New York Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo offered a sharp rebuke of the Democrats’ latest cries for impeachment, blaming "leftist" Democrats for forcing Congress to begin an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Cuomo, a Democrat himself, felt the "quote unquote inquiry" was a result of Democratic Lions of Islam in Congress pushing House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
, D-Calif., to engage in an ultimately pointless exercise that would just result in political gridlock. According to Cuomo, "There is a heightened leftist component of the Democratic Party that she was feeling pressure from."

Cuomo also provided a lengthy catalog of the legislative priorities that would be shoved aside until after the 2020 elections as a result of the futile impeachment process taking front and center.

"It’s a long and unproductive road," emphasized Cuomo. "Where does it go ultimately? Nowhere."

Cuomo’s assessment isn’t totally wrong, but he’s not exactly right either. According to latest Marist polling, only 49 percent of polled adults nationally approve the House’s formal launch of an impeachment inquiry. However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
88 percent of Democrats polled support the impeachment inquiry, with support jumping to 93 percent among progressives. Therefore, while it is clear impeachment is quite popular among progressives, it’s likely inaccurate to say the popularity of the impeachment inquiry is limited to the far-left. If anything, it seems the impeachment inquiry, though likely to be a show trial with no removal at the end, is a fan favorite among the Democrats.

Cuomo’s speech reveals the governor’s unawareness of the far-left’s takeover of the Democratic establishment.

Britain
Moment of truth coming for Brexit with time running out, says EU
[DAWN] Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney warned on Friday that time was running out for Britannia and the Europe

an Union to hammer out a divorce deal with the British Brexit minister also saying the moment of truth was approaching.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
has vowed that Britannia will leave the EU on Oct 31 whether or not a deal has been agreed with the bloc, and while both sides say they are keen to reach an agreement, there is little sign of the deadlock being broken.

Johnson’s opponents say leaving the EU without a deal to keep most of its trading arrangements in place would plunge Britannia into economic chaos. The government says it has made preparations to avoid serious disruption.

The EU agreed a withdrawal package with former Prime Minister Theresa May but this was rejected three times by the British parliament over the "Irish backstop" ‐ an insurance policy to prevent the return of a hard border between the British province of Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

After a meeting with EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier in Brussels, Ireland’s Coveney said negotiations had to be on the basis of a "serious proposal" from the British on how they would replace the backstop.

"That hasn’t happened yet and until there is a serious proposal in writing ... then the gaps that are wide at the moment will remain. And time is running out," he told news hounds.

Does this also mean that the "Open Borders" Treaty of Schingen would be enforced with any British opt-out be removed?

Afghanistan
Over 1.051m Afghans voted in over 2.5 thousand polling stations in today’s presidential elections
[KhaamaPress] The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced later tonight that more than 1.051 million voters cast their votes in over 2.5 thousand polling stations across the country in today’s presidential elections.

The IEC officials told news hounds that they have received the results of 2,597 polling stations out of 4,942 polling stations from across Afghanistan.

The officials further added that the information received by IEC indicate that 1,051,998 voters cast their votes in more than 2,590 polling stations.

Voting for presidential elections kicked off at around 7 am local time in Afghanistan on Saturday and continued until 5 pm.

The officials had earlier reported around 9.6 million have registered their names for the presidential elections.

No Major Challenge Reported As Polling Continues: IEC

[ToloNews] The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Saturday said that they are currently not experiencing the challenges they faced in last year’s parliamentary elections.

"So far we have not faced the challenges we had in the parliamentary elections. We urge the people of Afghanistan to cast their votes and decide their fate. This is a fight for democracy." said Mirza Mohammad Haqparast, front man for the IEC.

"Sensitive material was delivered to all 34 provinces. Backup devices and technical experts are available to deal with any possible problem," he said.

Haqparast stated that around 137, 000 observers are observing the election process across the country, and asks for everyone involved in the process to keep their impartiality and stand alongside the people of Afghanistan.

Tolonews journalists have reported several incidents of technical problems with biometric devices (although backup plans were in place) as well as complaints by voters who participated in the last parliamentary elections but who are no longer on the registered voter list.

75% of polling stations are open across Afghanistan, says IEC Chief

[KhaamaPress] The Chairperson of the Independent Election Commission Hawa Alam Nuristani has said 75% of the polling stations are open across the country where the voters can cast their votes.

Speaking during a presser this afternoon, Nuristani said 75% or 4041 polling stations which are open across the country.

She also added that 481 polling stations remain closed across the country but emphasized that all the processes are going forward in a good manner.

The voting process is underway in various parts of the country amid tight security and reports of irregularities in various sites, including irregular lists of voters, malfunctioning of biometrics system.

Reports have also emerged from some parts of the country including Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Kunar and some other areas suggesting that small security related incidents have taken.

#5  The Jerusalem Post has more numbers, though no comment on a literacy requirement:

Afghanistan's presidential election turnout is unofficially estimated at a little over 2 million voters, said an election commission official on Sunday, speaking on condition of anonymity.

There were 9.67 million registered voters for the presidential election on Saturday, its fourth since the Taliban regime was defeated in 2001.

Puberty Blocking Drugs Used On ‘Trans Kids’ Have Killed More Than 6,000 People
[HOTAIR] Here’s a horror show of a story that you’re probably not going to see on CNN anytime soon. A report emerged on Thursday indicating that the puberty-blocking drug Leuprolide Acetate (Lupron) has resulted in tens of thousands of serious "adverse reactions" in patients, including more than six thousand deaths. That’s bad enough, but it’s even more significant when you consider that this is one of the drugs being administered by doctors to so-called "transgender children" to unnaturally prevent their normal sexual development. And the testing done on the drug by the FDA for such applications appears to be thin at best.

More than 6,300 adults have died from reactions to a drug that is used as a puberty blocker in gender-confused children, Food & Drug Administration data reportedly shows.

"Between 2012 and June 30 of this year, the FDA documented over 40,764 adverse reactions suffered by patients who took Leuprolide Acetate (Lupron), which is used as a hormone blocker. More than 25,500 reactions logged from 2014-2019 were considered ’serious,’ including 6,370 deaths," The Christian Post reported on Thursday.

"Lupron is being prescribed off-label for use in children who have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria despite the lack of formal FDA approval for that purpose," the outlet explained.
g(r)omgoru submitted the same story, commenting:
Inhalers killed what, 30 people in whole of USA? Well, think of it as evolution in action! (IMO, People who want their kid's gender changed shouldn't reproduce)

#1  Lupron is used in treating late stage prostate cancer or returning cancer. It has side effects but considering that late stage prostate cancer patients are running out of time anyway, many doctors will use it. Prostate cancer kills about 30,000 US citizens a year.

There is almost certainly less risk in giving lupron to young otherwise healthy patients.

This is not to say 'no risk', just less risk.

#2  I do hate this story. It is a bad statistic, as lord garth stated, based on treatment of profoundly unhealthy people (many of whom likely would have died no matter what they were given). There is no evidence listed here that shows these drugs are anywhere nearly as risky as this is making them sound (or which even concludes that the drugs were responsible for all of the deaths they were associated with; if I were taking to be taking morphine after a car crash and die anyways, I was not killed by morphine).

#Iraqi PM approves reopening al-Qa'im border crossing with #Syria

The Iraqi state news agency INA quoted the Arab country's border agency chief as saying on Friday that the crossing will be opened for travelers and trade on Monday.

The crossing, which connects the town of al-Qa'im in Iraq's Anbar Province to the Syrian city of Bukamal in Syria's Dayr al-Zawr Province, was closed in 2013 to support Iraqi forces in their fight against al-Qaeda militants and later Daesh terrorists.

Al-Qa'im and Bukamal lie on a strategic supply route and the crossing between them had only been open to government or military traffic.

Saudi arrest of Hamas members further strain bilateral ties
[PRESSTV] Soddy Arabia

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's recent arrest campaign against Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, members has shed light on the deteriorating relations between the Paleostinian resistance movement and the kingdom amid warming Tel Aviv-Riyadh ties.

Observers told the Middle East Eye (MEE) news portal that the detention campaign, which began in February, was actually meant to target the Paleostinian cause and serve Israel.
"Observers"
Rafat Morra, the head of Hamas's foreign media department, stressed that the group had tried to resolve the crisis quietly, but its attempts did not yield results.

Hamas made "unremitting political and diplomatic efforts" to deal with the Saudi campaign of arrests, including asking several regional and international actors such as Kuwait to mediate, he said.

he added, such efforts were met with more arrests, including the detentions of Mohammed al-Khudari, who is the most prominent Hamas official in Saudi custody.

Trump rejected Iran’s conditions for meeting Rouhani: Zarif
[PRESSTV] Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says it was US President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
who wasted his chances for a meeting with Iranian officials on the sidelines of a United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
gathering in New York by rejecting Tehran’s main conditions for such a meeting.

Zarif said on Saturday that Trump was merely trying to hold a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...
during the latter’s stay in New York this week, adding that the US president was unwilling to accept that sanctions imposed by his government on Tehran should be lifted as a main precondition for talks with Iran.

He said, however, that a direct meeting between Trump and Rouhani had never been on agenda and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
basically wanted a meeting between heads of states signatory to a 2015 agreement on Iran’s nuclear activity which has suffered since Trump’s administration withdrew from the deal in May 2018.

"Mr Trump did not say that this (lifting of sanctions) would be done after the meeting, but he was more inclined to have the meeting done and said there is also the possibility that sanctions would be lifted after the meeting," Zarif told the Persian service of the IRIB News as he was preparing to leave New York for Tehran.

The comments come after more than a month of speculations about a potential détente between Iran and the US amid growing tensions between the two countries.

...Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant...
is on the way out as a candidate and that Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
is ready to step into his shoes, still griping about 2016, still vicious and nasty and still bent on Dire Revenge for slights carried over from the last century.

Handlers have slicked her up and painted over the look of staggering drunken homelessness that Hillary successfully modeled the last three years. It didn't help. All across America, voters are throwing things at their televisions. A run on straight razors is expected.

America doesn't want this woman as president. We don't want her as a candidate. Our feelings for her fall between the levels of affection for bedbugs and cockroaches. We don't want to surrender our country to her wholesale criminality and rape of our Constitution. We don't want to read about Arkancides clearing out all opposition.

Enough of Chelsea in the news. We've had our fill of Huma. Spare us Little Georgie Stephanopoulos resuming his embarrassing suckuppery right out front where everybody can see. We don't want more of our strategic minerals going to the Russians or our ultra-secret weapons systems declassified to benefit the Chinese.

We don't want still more emails going to our enemies. We don't want more stories of Americans fighting and dying in faraway lands while Hillary turns over and goes back to sleep. We don't want to hear that scratchy voice punctuated with "you know" every few seconds. We don't want a First Husband running a personal porn industry out of the White House.

We don't want the economy messed with now that Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has it running like a Swiss watch.

We don't want this vile creature who sneers at us, calls us names, insults our intelligence, denigrates us ‐ we don't want this queen of the Deep State at the helm. One of those was plenty, thank you.

Clinton fatigue doesn't begin to describe how we feel about this evil woman and her sick husband. Americans of both sexes and all ages, parties, religions, colors, sexual orientations, national origins, and dysfunctions want the Clintons, paraphrasing Biff Tannen, to make like a tree and get out of here.

Texas Cops Arrest Alleged Odessa Roadside ‘Serial Shooter’
[BREITBART] Ector County, Texas, Sheriff Mike Griffis announced on Friday that a suspected "serial shooter" is in jug. The arrest is expected to bring a series of roadside shootings in the Odessa, Texas, area that began on Tuesday. Odessa is also the scene of a recent mass-shooting incident that began after a highway patrol traffic stop.

One person is dead and another maimed in a series of shootings that began in Odessa shortly after midnight on Tuesday. In two other shooting incidents, the shooter only struck the vehicles and the occupants sustained no physical injuries, according to CBS7.

Late Friday afternoon, Sheriff Griffis announced they have a suspect in jug that they believe to be the shooter, KCBD NBC11 reported. "We cannot confirm it is the same individual (shooter), but we feel like it probably is," the sheriff stated.

The shootings appear to have involved a person pulling up to a broken down vehicle on the side of the road, the local NBC affiliate reported. In a shooting Thursday night at about 10:30, official responding to a call found one man dead near an overpass on Interstate 20. A second man sustained injuries from gunfire after being shot in the abdomen during a shooting on Tuesday.

CBS7 laid out the following timeline for the four shootings:
  • #1) Tuesday morning at 12:45 a.m. at 8th and Grant

  • #2) Then at 7:36 a.m. at I-20 and Highway 866

  • #3) That afternoon at Meteor Crater Road and I-20 near the Pilot truck stop

  • #4) Then last night [September 26) on Business 20

The alleged shooter appears to have used multiple handguns during the individual shootings. During the investigation, Sheriff Griffis said, "We are actively pursuing this individual, there are multiple agencies involved, there have been different weapons used and all appear to be from a handgun, but of different calibers. All of these incidents have been "roadside" related. We are asking the public to be "cautious" and if you see anything suspicious to call 911. WE WILL BRING HIM TO JUSTICE."

Sikh deputy shot and killed during Texas traffic stop
[FOXNEWS] A Texas sheriff's deputy who was shot multiple times from behind while conducting a traffic stop on Friday afternoon has died, police said.

Sandeep Dhaliwal, a 10-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff's Office and its first Sikh deputy, stopped a vehicle with two people inside around at 12:45 p.m.

One of the occupants was able to leave the vehicle, approach the deputy from behind and shoot him at least twice ‐ "basically just shot him in a very ruthless, cold-blooded way," said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Late Friday, the sheriff's office announced that Robert Solis, 47, had been charged with capital murder in Dhaliwal's death. Gonzalez tweeted that Solis was wanted on a parole violation warrant dating back to January 2017, when he was reportedly accused of threatening his girlfriend and possessing a prohibited weapon.

Click2Houston reported that Solis was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison in 2002 for aggravated kidnapping but was released on parole in 2014. His parole would have expired in 2022

Dhaliwal's dashboard camera captured video showing Dhaliwal speaking with the driver in what appeared to be a conversational tone with "no combat, no arguing," Sheriff's Maj. Mike Lee said. The driver's door was opened at one point, and Dhaliwal shut it as the driver remained in the vehicle. When Dhaliwal turned to walk back to his patrol car, the driver steps from the car "almost immediately running with a gun already out," Lee said. The driver shot the deputy from behind, hitting him in the back of the head. The driver got back in his car and drove away.

A deputy a short time later found and arrested a nervous man matching the description of the driver in a business at a nearby strip shopping center, Lee said. A woman believed to have been a passenger in the car also was taken into custody. It was not clear if she would face charges.

Dhaliwal, 42, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Fox 26 Houston reported.

"I’m sad to share with you that we’ve lost one of our own," Gonzalez tweeted Friday. "There are no words to convey our sadness. Please keep his family and our agency in your prayers."

Gonzalez's predecessor as sheriff, Adrian Garcia, implemented a religious accommodation policy that allowed Dhaliwal to wear the traditional turban and beard of the Sikh religion. The deputy was a father of three children.

Rep. Andy Biggs Introduces Motion to Censure Adam Schiff
[BREITBART] Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) on Friday introduced a motion to condemn and censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff
...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...
(D-CA) for performing a fabricated conversation between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his opening statement at a panel hearing Thursday morning.

"During yesterday’s hearing, Chairman Schiff’s opening statement included a blatantly false retelling of President Trump’s conversation with the Ukrainian president. Democrats previously initiated an impeachment inquiry, which leads to one of the most serious, constitutional duties of Members of Congress: removal of the President of the United States," Biggs, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said in a statement. "Through this process, if the President has committed high crimes or misdemeanors, Congress may overturn the election of the President and the will of the American people. It is therefore inexcusable to toy with the process and mislead the American public with such a statement."

Although the White House released Wednesday a transcript of the Trump-Zelensky call, Schiff made-up his own transcript that he read ahead of the testimony of acting DNI chief Joseph Maguire in which he accused the president of engaging in quid pro quo with the intent of exchanging U.S. military aid to Ukraine for an investigation into Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President and 2020 White House hopeful Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'...
"We’ve been very good to your country. Very good. No other country has done as much as we have. But you know what? I don’t see much reciprocity here. I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from YOU though. And I’m going to say this only seven times so you better listen good," said Schiff.

"I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of it," the congressman continued.

Palestinians protest in northern Dead Sea against PM’s West Bank annexation plan
[IsraelTimes] Scuffles break out between IDF soldiers and demonstrators; no reports of arrests.

Over a hundred Paleostinians gathered at an abandoned hotel in the northern Dead Sea on Saturday to protest a pre-election promise by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea and apply Israeli illusory sovereignty there.

The protesters climbed onto the Lido structure, which has largely remained empty since 1967 and is located south of the West Bank city of Jericho, and waved Paleostinian flags before they were dispersed by Israel Defense Forces soldiers. There were no reports of arrests, but videos from the scene showed scuffles between troops and demonstrators.

The Kan public broadcaster reported that protesters were also demonstrating against house demolitions in the area.

The prime minister said before the elections earlier this month that he would annex the Jordan Valley area and the northern Dead Sea (some 25 percent of the West Bank) immediately after he formed a new government, and then later, in coordination with the US, would annex "all the settlements" in the West Bank, the Jewish enclaves in Hebron and other unspecified "vital" areas.

"There is one place where we can apply Israeli illusory sovereignty immediately after the elections," Netanyahu said earlier this month, speaking with a map of the Jordan Valley on an easel next to him. "If I receive from you, citizens of Israel, a clear mandate to do so... today I announce my intention to apply, with the formation of the next government, Israeli illusory sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea."

Israel’s September 17 elections have produced political deadlock, however, with neither Netanyahu nor his rival, Benny Gantz of the Blue and White party, having a clear path to a Knesset majority.

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
warned on Thursday that he would cancel all diplomatic agreements with Israel if the next Israeli government carries out Netanyahu’s campaign promise to apply Israeli illusory sovereignty over parts of the West Bank.
The Jerusalem Post adds:
Two NGOs – the Palestinian-based Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) and the Israel-based All That’s Left: Anti-Occupation Collective – organized the event, which was designed to highlight both environmental issues relating to climate change and problems relating to the Israeli rule of the area of the northern Dead Sea, located over the pre-1967 lines.

Democrats have sought to #impeach #Trump since he entered office: Analyst
[TWITTER] Democrats in the US Congress have sought to impeach President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
since he entered the White House in January 2017, says an American political analyst in Virginia.

"As far as the issue of impeachment, the Democrats have been looking a for any number of things that they can potentially use to impeach the president, almost as soon as he took office," said Keith Preston, chief editor of AttacktheSystem.com.

"It’s not like this is anything new on the Democrats part; this is just the latest in a series of efforts Democrats have made to try to impeach the president," Preston told Press TV.

The US House of Representatives on Tuesday launched an official impeachment investigation of Trump after he encouraged a foreign leader to conduct a probe that could damage a political rival.

4 Kashmiris dead in raids by Indian security forces
[DAWN] Indian security forces killed four alleged fighters in Indian Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
e on Saturday, police said, as the disputed Moslem-majority territory simmers under a lockdown imposed by New Delhi after it revoked its constitutional autonomy in August.

Three were killed in the Batote market area of Jammu where, according to officials, they had allegedly taken a local civilian hostage inside his house.

The hostage was rescued unharmed, a front man for the central reserve police force told journalists.

Another Kashmiri was killed in an 'encounter' in Kangan in the north of the region, Dilbagh Singh, director general of Jammu and Kashmir police told AFP.

Singh also said Kashmiri fighters had thrown a grenade in the Safakadal area of Srinagar city but that no one was injured in the incident.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on the other hand, Indian troops killed three youth during cordon and search operations in Naranag area of Ganderbal and three others in Batote area of Ramban district in the Jammu region.

Black hole rips apart doomed star in 'rare' event
[PRESSTV] Scientists have captured a view of a colossal black hole violently ripping apart a doomed star, illustrating an extraordinary and chaotic cosmic event from beginning to end for the first time using NASA's planet-hunting telescope.

The US space agency's orbiting Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, better known as TESS, revealed the detailed timeline of a star 375 million light-years away warping and spiraling into the unrelenting gravitational pull of a supermassive black hole, researchers said.

The star, roughly the same size as our sun, was eventually sucked into oblivion in a rare cosmic occurrence that astronomers call a tidal disruption event, they added.

Speaking to Rooters, NASA scientist Knicole Colon said the event involving a black hole violently ripping apart a doomed start was "rare." Astronomers used an international network of telescopes to detect the phenomenon before turning to TESS, whose permanent viewing zones designed to hunt distant planets caught the beginning of the violent event, proving effective its unique method of surveying the cosmos.

Such phenomena happen when a star ventures too close to a supermassive black hole, objects that reside at the center of most large galaxies, including our Milky Way. The black hole's tremendous gravitational forces tear the star to shreds, with some of its material tossed into space and the rest plunging into the black hole, forming a disk of hot, bright gas as it is swallowed.

Observing the oscillation of light as the black hole gobbles the star and spews stellar material in an outward spiral could help astronomers understand the black hole's behavior, a scientific mystery since physicist Albert Einstein's work more than a century ago examined gravity's influence on light in motion.

Tom Brady's Popularity Stems From The 'Latest Wave Of White Rage And White Supremacy' Professor Claims
[NEWSWEEK] New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady is one of the most accomplished and decorated NFL stars of all time, but Kyle Kusz, an associate professor of kinesiology
The study of the mechanics of body movements. I never heard of it before either.
It’s been around for a while. Both physical therapy and occupational therapy are based on it.
at the University of Rhode Island has a much different take on the 42-year-old.

According to Campus Reform, Kusz does not think Brady's popularity stems from his six Superbowl titles but instead due to white supremacy and white male rage.
...the liberal concept (the science is settled!) that men are knuckle dragging bastards who spend all their time watching football, drinking beer, burping, farting, and thumping their women. This doesn't apply if the men are girls transitioning to boys, or boys transitioning to girls, or either transitioning to sheep...

In Kusz's book, titled Making American White Men Great Again: Tom Brady, Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
, and the Allure of White Male Omnipotence in Post-Obama America, he details his beliefs regarding Brady's fame.

"Quarterback Tom Brady has gained popularity due to the 'latest wave of white rage and white supremacy,'" wrote Kusz.

According to Kusz, this popularity began with the election of former President Barack Obama
I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody...
, parallel to "a disturbing racial reaction among white conservatives in response to the idea that a black man would be [president]."

In his book, Kusz focuses on a 2015 Under Armour commercial in which Brady appeared. The style of the ad "would not seem out of place in Leni Riefenstahl's infamous Nazi propaganda film, Triumph des Willens," Kusz wrote.

"I decided to research Trump and Brady's public performances of their white masculinities and how they connect with broader debates about race and gender politics after a student in one of my classes brought the UnderArmour commercial to my attention, and it piqued my interest," the professor said in an interview with Campus Reform.

Brady's apparent support of Trump began in 2015 when he placed a red Make America Great Again hat in his locker. "I have so many great friends in New England including Tom Brady and Coach Belichick" said Trump at a 2016 rally in New Hampshire, according to the Boston Globe. "How good is Tom? Remember last year, he had the red hats?"

Beto, That's Not The Best Venue to Declare Who Should Only Be Trusted With Guns
[TOWNHALL] Former Democratic Congressman Robert Francis O’Rourke;
...Kennedyeque businessman, musician, skateboard artiste, and politician who represented Texas' 16th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Beto is a Latino nickname for people whose names end in "erto," like "Roberto" or "Alberto." He is seeking the Dem nomination for President in 2020 because he has nice hair and lots of teeth. He was born into a local political family in El Paso, Texas and is a graduate of a prep school and Columbia University, which is not in Texas. In 2005, he was elected to the El Paso City Council. He was elected to Congress in 2012 after defeating eight-term incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary. He declined to seek re-election in 2018, instead running for the Senate against Republican Ted Cruz, running a campaign that drew national attention because of his skateboarding skills. A few months after he lost, he announced his campaign for President...
is making history, I guess. He wants to take private property from millions of law-abiding Americans. Bob is anti-gun. And he proudly said "hell yes" to confiscating so-called assault weapons. He’s the liberal who thinks the AR-15 is a scary gun. Americans own millions of these rifles. There is no way compliance for confiscation will be honored. It’s illegal. It’s unconstitutional. And if Democrats want to follow the playbooks of never winning another presidential race for the foreseeable future, follow this guy’s lead.

Liberals have short memories. Gun control already cost them the 2000 election, with Gore losing West Virginia, Tennessee, and Arkansas over his stance on gun control. Those states, even with Bush winning Florida, would have been enough to push Gore past 270 and succeed Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of the word is...
in January of 2001.

So, whom does Bob (aka Beto) think should be trusted to own firearms in America? You guessed it; only the police, military, and other agents of the state should be allowed to own guns. And did I mention that he made this pitch at Kent State University, where the National Guard shot and killed four students in 1970 during a Vietnam War protest?

Musk rolls out Starship in Boca Chica TX
[NASASpaceflight.com]

Photos and discussion are at the title link. Sometime later YouTube will have the livestream converted to a video.

The beginning was a bit delayed by a very negative NASA administrator tweet followed by putting a NASA livestream discussion about their upcoming mission to the moon during the same time period that Musk had his speech scheduled.

One of NASA's complaints was not spending enough effort on commercial crew. Musk said %65 of SpaceX current spending was on Commercial Crew vs %5 on Starship.

As to Starship. MK-1 Boca, MK2- Kennedy followed quickly by MK-3 Boca and MK-4 Kennedy. The Starships were a bit heavy so the the current ones can't do SSTO on earth. MK-1 is 200 metric tons empty. He hopes by 4 or 5 to get to 120 metric tons empty. After MK-4 production will begin in both Boca Chica and Kennedy on the Starship Heavy boosters. He thinks this will be in about 6 months. Possibly orbital before 1 year with booster launch. Booster will do 22-35 engines depending on need.

Short term plan is to quickly evolve and rapidly produce Starships and boosters,

Four Abu Sayyaf rebels rounded up in Zamboanga City
[BenarNews] Four Abu Sayyaf militants were arrested Thursday in connection with a series of attacks in the southern Philippines, as authorities charged six other suspected rebels, including a Swedish national, for alleged terrorism-related offenses after catching them in the region earlier this week.

The four suspects apprehended in Zamboanga City were identified as Aljiver Habibula, Omar Julaspih, Rody Marail, and Nash Amik. “They are members of the Abu Sayyaf Group Urban Terrorist Group operating in Sulu, Basilan and Zamboanga City,”, said Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, the local police commander.

While carrying out the arrests police recovered bomb-making components, communication devices, electronic parts and ammonium nitrate.

Three days before Thursday’s arrests, police and military elements caught Swedish man Hassan Akgun and five Filipinos during a raid in General Santos, another city in the Philippine south.

Charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives were filed against Akgun, although authorities had not yet established a link between the Abu Sayyaf and his group of suspected militants. Philippine National Police spokesman Brig. General Bernard Banac said, “He is really working with international terror groups. As to what really is his task, it is still under validation."

It is believed that Agkun was working with a group linked to IS, but it is too early to say whether he had any links with the new IS leader, Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan, said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command.

Beta O'Rourke says Trump should resign during impeachment inquiry
Who's desperate and illiterate to laws and the actual f'n Constitution? THIS flash of teeth and fake Micksican heritage. What an idiot
[10 News via Ay Pee] Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke says President Donald Trump should resign as Congress begins an impeachment investigation.

O'Rourke said Saturday there shouldn't be a fear of an impeachment probe intensifying partisan divisions. The former Texas congressman said at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin that he believes impeaching Trump would ultimately unify the country.

But O'Rourke says "the best thing" Trump can do at this point is to step down. Trump defiantly denies any wrongdoing.

The 2020 Democratic presidential field is unanimous in its support of Congress for launching an impeachment investigation. The White House's handling of Trump's calls with foreign leaders is at the heart of the House impeachment inquiry.

O'Rourke has been lagging in the polls but says he's in the race "until the very end."
