Words become meaningless when spouted by these barking madmen. What "values" are "reflected" by the decision to eliminate urinals? What does that have to do with morals or a conception of the good society? Speaking of values in this context is like referring to a lunatic's "thesis" or "strategic rationale."
There is no logic here. There is no "value" on display. This us simple madness, reaching its baroque stage.

Time to Set the Record Straight on Slavery
[AmericanThinker] ...A look into the past is instructive. According to Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, 12.5 million African slaves were shipped to the New World between 1525 and 1866, and 10.7 million (about 86 percent) survived the trip. Of these, only 450,000 (about 4 percent of the total) were sent to America. The rest were shipped to South America and the Caribbean. Brazil alone received 4.9 million. Why are there no calls for reparations in Brazil? And the black slave trade to the West pales in comparison to the white and black slave trade conducted by Muslim nations of Africa and the Middle East in its barbarity and numbers.
I think there are similarities with illegal immigration today - some people make lots of money. Others pay for it, and will keep paying for generations.

#5  Yeah, lets talk about this -

From bases on the Barbary coast, North Africa, the Barbary pirates raided ships traveling through the Mediterranean and along the northern and western coasts of Africa, plundering their cargo and enslaving the people they captured. From at least 1500, the pirates also conducted raids on seaside towns of Italy, Spain, France, England, the Netherlands and as far away as Iceland, capturing men, women and children. On some occasions, settlements such as Baltimore in Ireland were abandoned following a raid, only being resettled many years later.

#6  Here's a deal: a one-time payment of $200k - pro-rated per amount of provable slave ancestry, e.g. Obama would get zilch, his wife the full $200k - in exchange for a complete, absolute, permanent end to any and and all racial preferences in hiring, government funding, and school admissions. Deal?

#9  You all are probably right.

The logic of reparations is Sharpton's: Heads I win, tails you lose, whites are eternally guilty -- regardless of when they arrived in the US, or whether they benefited from slavery or discrimination in any meaningful or demonstrable fashion, or whether they're even "white" at all.

Which means the Great Shakedown must never be allowed to end.

NYPD officer shot and killed during struggle with suspect
NEW YORK (AP) ‐ A New York City police officer grappling with an armed man died early Sunday in the Bronx after being shot three times, possibly with his own gun.

The 27-year-old suspect also died after five officers fired at him, police officials said. He has not been publicly identified yet.

The NYPD identified the slain officer as 33-year-old Brian Mulkeen.

"We lost a hero this evening," Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference outside Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.

Mulkeen was patrolling the streets around a city apartment complex at around 12:30 a.m. as part of a unit investigating potential gang activity, Chief of Department Terence Monahan said.

Mulkeen and his partner tried to apprehend a man who had fled questioning, and a struggle on the ground ensued, Monahan said.

Gravity be hard: Grand Canyon's Skywalk claims another jumper
GRAND CANYON WEST, Ariz. (AP) ‐ Authorities are trying to locate the body of a man who climbed over a safety barrier at the Grand Canyon Skywalk and apparently jumped to his death.

They say the 28-year-old visitor to the tourist spot on the Hualapai reservation outside Grand Canyon National Park jumped around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

A Grand Canyon West spokesman says a body recovery effort began Sunday morning.

Skywalk opened in 2007. It’s a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway that juts about 70 feet over the canyon overlooking the Colorado River.

The vertical drop from the Skywalk is between 500 feet and 800 feet (244 meters).

A Chinese tourist fell to his death in March when he stumbled while trying to take a photo close to Skywalk.

China quietly doubles troop levels in Hong Kong, envoys say
[Reuters] Last month, Beijing moved thousands of troops across the border into this restive city. They came in on trucks and armored cars, by bus and by ship.

The state news agency Xinhua described the operation as a routine "rotation" of the low-key force China has kept in Hong Kong since the city’s handover from Britain in 1997. No mention was made of the anti-government protests that have been shaking the metropolis since June.

It was a plausible report: China has maintained a steady level of force in the territory for years, regularly swapping troops in and out. And days earlier, according to an audio recording obtained by Reuters, embattled Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam had told local businesspeople that China had "absolutely no plan" to order the army to put down the demonstrations.

A month on, Asian and Western envoys in Hong Kong say they are certain the late-August deployment was not a rotation at all, but a reinforcement. Seven envoys who spoke to Reuters said they didn’t detect any significant number of existing forces in Hong Kong returning to the mainland in the days before or after the announcement.

Three of the envoys said the contingent of Chinese military personnel in Hong Kong had more than doubled in size since the protests began. They estimated the number of military personnel is now between 10,000 and 12,000, up from 3,000 to 5,000 in the months before the reinforcement.

Somalia: Jihadists 'attack US Baledogle training base'
[BBC] Jihadists have attacked a military base where US soldiers train commandos in Somalia, causing casualties, reports say.

Local residents reported heavy blasts and gunfire at Baledogle airport in the southern Lower Shabelle region.

The al-Shabab militant group said it had carried out the attack, using a car bomb to blast through the gates before sending its fighters inside.

Military officials say the jihadists have been pushed back.

Al-Shabab said in a statement that it had launched the raid.

"After breaching the perimeters of the heavily fortified base, the mujahideen [holy warriors] stormed the military complex, engaging the crusaders in an intense firefight."

The base, about 100km (60 miles) west of the capital Mogadishu, is said to house US special forces, Somali special forces and Ugandan peacekeepers. It is used as a launch site for US drones as well as being a training centre.

Separately, an Italian military convoy was hit by an explosion in Mogadishu itself, Italy's defence ministry said. No casualties have as yet been reported in this attack.

Finland introduces women-only swimming pool hours for Muslims
[VOA] In a supposed attempt to encourage Muslim women to learn how to swim, several Finnish swimming pools, public and private alike, have introduced women-only hours and special courses oriented toward immigrants, Finnish broadcaster Yle reports.

The Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation says that the long-term goal of their Swimming Skills for All project is to train instructors with immigrant backgrounds, so that they can teach others in their own language.

The project will be funded by taxpayers through the Finnish National Agency for Education.

"Initially we had doubts about whether we would get enough students for a full batch, but the reception was great and we got a lot of people," Outi Penkkala, a teacher at Raseko Regional Education and Training Consortium, said.

Across Finland, separate swimming hours for men and women have become increasingly popular.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF nabs 8 Hamas 'leaders' in Hebron
[Jpost] The detention of eight Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, "leaders" in the Hebron area by the IDF won’t intimidate the Paleostinians or stop them from "pursuing their national role in defending their land and holy sites," the terrorist organization said on Saturday.

Paleostinian sources said the men were detained during IDF raids on their homes early Saturday in the towns of Dura, Deir Samet, Surif and Idhna in the Hebron area.

The sources identified the Hamas suspects as Mohammed Yusef al-Huroub, Ahmed Dib al-Huroub, Ezz Qassem, Ayed Dudin, Fadi Ghneimat, Khaled al-Fasfous, Tawfik Abdel Fattah al-Huroub, and Imsail al-Nattah.

Hamas spokesperson Abdel Hakim Hanini said that the detainees, who previously served time in Israeli prison for terrorist-related offenses, were "paying the price for their defense of the holy sites and the freedom of the land and Paleostinians."

Hanini pointed out that Mohammed Yusef al-Huroub was detained in Dura by the IDF shortly after he was summoned for interrogation by the Paleostinian Authority security forces. al-Huroub’s ID card was still being held by the PA security forces, he said.

The Hamas spokesperson condemned the "revolving door policy" between the IDF and the PA security forces in the West Bank, a reference to the security coordination between the two sides.

Hamas has repeatedly condemned the security coordination and called on the PA to halt all forms of collaboration with Israel.

The crackdown on Hamas operatives coincided with the 19th anniversary of the Second Intifada, also known as the al-Aqsa Intifada, which erupted on September 28, 2000.

Hamas said in a statement on Saturday that the al-Aqsa Intifada "was a turning point in the Paleostinian cause and a milestone in the history of our people."

According to Hamas, the Paleostinians’ "popular and military action" during the al-Aqsa Intifada forced Israel to withdraw from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip in 2005.

"Resistance is a legitimate right guaranteed by international laws, and this includes the armed struggle [against Israel], which represents a strategic choice for protecting the Paleostinian cause and restoring national rights," Hamas said.

The terror group that seized control of the Gaza Strip in 2007 also reiterated its fierce opposition to normalization between Israel and the Arab states.

"Normalization with the Zionist entity poses a grave threat to the Paleostinian cause and rights," Hamas warned, calling on Arabs to put pressure on their leaders not to engage in any form of normalization with Israel.

The Zinns of Revised History
[Ileana Johnson] Elementary school students learn their first version of history from their College of Education licensed teachers. Some deliberately change historical facts to match their social engineering agenda or are too ignorant and lazy to research on their own and thus do not care what damage they inflict on their charges as long as nobody gets physically hurt while in their care and everybody has breakfast, preferably at the taxpayer expense. Once their minds are made up, nothing can change their reality - it becomes the solid rock chiseled by water over millennia.

Parents may be either too busy to check the validity and veracity of what their children learn in school, may agree with the teacher’s activism, or may themselves be ignorant and unmotivated to do anything about it, not caring that their kids’ minds will be forever imprinted with misinformation and social justice drivel. Very young students look at their teachers in awe as the ultimate arbiters of truth.

Middle school students may or may not escape the deliberate indoctrination, depending on how involved some parents are in their children’s homework and school and on how much information students bring home at the end of the day or discuss with their parents.

Middle school students may ask their teachers more difficult questions, depending on their personality and the teacher’s eagerness to answer inconvenient queries from Johnny who happens to be disruptive to her pre-prepared lesson plans pulled from the state-approved curriculum and textbooks.

By high school students have been exposed to a barrage of misinformation from various teachers who may or may not have had a personal socialist agenda, but they were using Common Core textbooks which emphasized collectivism and Islam to the detriment of Christianity and American history facts.

The textbooks used today around the country are almost exclusively Howard Zinn’s version of history published in 1980, A People’s History of the United States. Howard Zinn, a native of Brooklyn, New York, considered himself a radical. The 729-page book is overloaded with manufactured history told from the revised perspective of the downtrodden and the exploited. I am familiar with this heavy-handed indoctrination as our textbooks when I was growing up presented history from the Communist Party’s collectivist perspective.

According to Zinn’s book and other Common Core approved textbooks, America is a land of brutal racism and oppression of the downtrodden but economically is a great place because wealth was stolen from the slaves who made this abundance possible. It is our duty to pay reparations to black people whose ancestors were forced into slavery when they were sold to white men by their tribal brethren in Africa.

New blood test could detect 20 types of cancer
[New York Post] A new blood test now under development can help detect 20 kinds of cancer, according to trials underway at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

In trials, the test correctly identified 32 percent of patients with stage-one disease and 76 percent of those with stage-two disease, the institute announced.
Breast, colorectal and lung cancers were among those detected in blood samples.

Hey Democrats, Impeach This!
[Townhall] We battlecons are torn over the Democrats’ decision to be dumb enough to double-down on impeaching the President after three years of non-stop humiliation. Crusty Bob Mueller was a bust, their hero Michael Avenatti is looking at hard time in every sense of the word, and they were stunned to find that a huge portion of the American people thought it was pretty cool to have a POTUS who could score with Playboy Playmates.

On the one hand, it’s bad because this impeachment garbage is bad for the country. The damage it is doing to our institutions ‐ really, that our institutions are doing to themselves in their shameful service of the liberal elite’s power grabs ‐ is incalculable. Remember 10 years ago when we conservatives trusted and respected the FBI and our intelligence community? Good times. Well, that’s over. It will be decades before a woke Republican is stupid enough to trust them again.

But on the other hand, we now have an opportunity to exploit their strategic blunder in order to rip them apart next November. We have a chance to teach the Democrats, to the extent they are trainable, that their socialist-curious, corporatist nanny state dreams are electoral strychnine.

...Hunter Biden’s beyond a mere prodigal son ‐ he’s a catastrophe of Biblical proportions, compounded by Hairplug One thinking it was super-duper savvy to brag about helping his snorterrific son on video. The media will try and hide it. The Democrats will declare it ‐ have already declared it ‐ out-of-bounds and irrelevant, but they can’t gate-keep that question from being asked forever. And the answer to the question is that our liberal elite is terminally corrupt.

...This bizarre notion that it’s somehow wrong for the president to identify and investigate manifest corruption is going to play terribly outside the Beltway and the coastal enclaves. The purple district Democrats who got elected in 2018 are sweating, knowing that they did not get sent to DC to be "yes people" for the likes of The Squad. Nancy Pelosi knows it too. She’s evil, but cunning, and she understands that the GOP under Trump can’t be shamed away from going for her tenuous majority’s jugular.

#1  From author and historian Peter Tsouras:

Some thoughts on the current screaming and shouting over impeachment.

The Dems are claiming that because the President stored his conversations with leaders on a special SCI safe as evidence that he had something to hide. A former NSC official said that the storing of presidential conversations with foreign leaders in special storage was initiated three years ago after conversations with the leaders of Mexico and Australia were leaked. Seems eminently reasonable to me given the level of disloyalty to their oaths exhibited by so many Dems in the Civil Service. It’s called a cabal engaged in a conspiracy. This so-called whistle-blower is a clear example. Previous to August whistle-blower claims had to be first-hand. In August the rules were changed to allow second-hand allegations. Then the whistle-blower claim was made shortly thereafter. It cannot have been just a coincidence; it was simply too convenient given that the allegation required long and careful preparation. Also in August it is clear that Schiff already had knowledge of the accusation. Furthermore, the whistle-blower’s formal accusation is clearly the product of a legal firm. The document is also larded with footnotes citing to one of the organizations belonging to the malignant America-hating George Soros. Sounds like the conspiracy of a cabal to me.

The President embodies the executive branch. He is the ultimate classification authority. He can do whatever storage means he damn-well pleases for documents.

Furthermore, the President as the chief law-enforcement officer of the United States, has the authority and, indeed, the responsibility to inquire of foreign leaders if high U.S. officials had engaged in corruption. Being a candidate for president does not give the corrupt official a pass. Trump was also trying to trace the Russian collusion allegations to their source. Those allegations were the product of the Dems engaging through Steele with the Russian FSB to influence our election.

That viper Schiff is now demanding the transcripts of other presidential conversations with foreign leaders. The Dems don’t care if they cripple the presidency’s ability with foreign leaders as long as it will help them destroy Trump.

Schiff only sees wrong-doing out of his right eye. That crowd had to work hard to avoid Clinton’s blatant selling her office. She took 145 million in contributions from Russian oligarchs for the Clinton Foundation; all of them have close ties to Putin. But, of course, you know that Russian oligarchs are the paragons of selfless altruism. The Dems had to work hard to defend her despite her criminal behavior with her server and emails, and the destruction of the server and deletion of the emails despite Congressional supeonas. I tell you that at least six foreign intelligence services have read her emails.

What we are seeing is a coup not just against Trump but against constitutional government. It’s as if a rabid dog was let loose in the Democrat caucus. A form of rabid dog, indeed, has been let loose. It is called Marxism and all its variations in the totalitarian left. The Democrats are behaving with all the political morals of communists and with all their party discipline. Pelosi and the other party leaders have done nothing to drive these dangerous people and their dangerous ideas out of the party. The communists always believed that the Democrats were the one party that was most vulnerable to infiltration, probably because of the inordinate number of useful idiots that are attracted to it. That was true in the 1930s and the war years of the 1940s when with the cooperation of the Roosevelt administration they allowed communist agents of the Soviet intelligence services to gain control of the security offices of the policy-making departments of the government. Only with the Cold War did they rouse themselves to drive most of these people out of their party. With the Vietnam War these people crept back into the party, and this time they were not driven out. As in every other institution they penetrate they have been able to gain control.

Just look at what they have done to the institutions of education. The elite universities have been turned into totalitarian nurseries. These students have been indoctrinated to suppress free speech through intimidation and even violence. These same people will be the future government elites. How do you think they will behave once they control the police powers of the state? That really focuses the need to protect the 2nd Amendment. When these elites send the police to break down your door, they should expect to receive counter-battery fire.

Man Sure Is Glad He Switched From E-Cigs To Regular, Healthier Cigarettes
[Babylon Bee] GRASS VALLEY, CA‐In response to a record of nearly 10 deaths that could possibly relate to the use of e-cigarettes and vaping, lawmakers in multiple states have begun introducing legislation to curb what has clearly become an epidemic.

"The only option here is to enact a new law restricting what people can do with their own bodies!" New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced while signing off on a state-wide ban on flavored e-cigarettes. He then left to give a speech on the importance of protecting a woman’s right to tear her unborn child to pieces.

Meanwhile, the California state legislature nearly outlawed all forms of vaping after spinning their giant "Wheel of Banning" to determine which activity would be legally prohibited this week. However, they had to spin again after the wheel landed between "Vaping" and "Driving P.T. Cruisers."

Nathan Quandt is a former e-cigarette user from Grass Valley, CA. Like many others, he recently made the transition to tobacco cigarettes after learning about the immediate dangers of vaping.

"Since tobacco products are all still legal, they must be a much safer alternative," Quandt said while deeply inhaling some nourishing cigarette fumes. "Obviously, the government would only take action if this was a true crisis, and not because of some arbitrary reason like bandwagoning or virtue-signaling!"

"Thanks to my three daily packs of American Spirits, I was able to give up such a dangerous and unhealthy lifestyle very quickly and easily!"

Ukraine Holds More Surprises for Biden
h/t Istapundit
[Bloomberg] U.S. presidential candidate Joe Biden is about to learn an unpleasant lesson about Ukraine: Once you’ve stepped into the country’s politics, there’s no way to emerge unsullied. Recent developments suggest he’ll be fielding questions about a lot more that what President Donald Trump has already slung his way.

Consider the case of Ukrainian billionaire Dmytro Firtash, which could play into one of the conservative blogosphere’s favorite obsessions: the idea that Ukraine played a role in furthering the "witch hunt" ‐ that is, U.S. Democrats’ efforts to find evidence of Trump’s connection to Russian election meddling.

Firtash, who got rich playing middleman between Russian and Ukrainian energy companies, has long been fighting extradition to the U.S. from Austria. He’s wanted for allegedly bribing Indian officials more than a decade ago, but he could be valuable in other ways: He was once close to now-deposed Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, and therefore might know about the Ukrainian activities of Paul Manafort, Trump’s disgraced former campaign chairman.

Earlier this year, on the verge of being sent to America, Firtash retained a duo of Trump-connected American lawyers and presented a Vienna court with a wealth of documents that he says prove that the extradition request was actually politically motivated. Among those documents is an affidavit from former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who testified that Biden "directly manipulated the political leadership of Ukraine on false pretexts" to prevent Firtash from leaving Austria for Ukraine ‐ where, as a Ukrainian citizen, he couldn’t be extradited.

This is the same Shokin whom Biden has boasted of getting fired by threatening to withhold a $1 billion loan guarantee. The former prosecutor has since said that Biden ‐ then the U.S. vice president ‐ did it to thwart a Ukrainian investigation into Burisma, a natural gas company where his son Hunter was a well-paid board member. Although the claim is probably false, Trump has picked it up and pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate, sparking a separate scandal about the current U.S. president’s use of his office to dig up dirt on a potential election rival.

Expect the Trump team to try to show that Biden abused his power by coercing Ukrainian authorities into helping him get a prospective Russiagate witness to the U.S. If Firtash works with Trump’s people, he can also provide a steady supply of testimony and documents suggesting that Obama administration officials, including Biden, actively meddled in Ukraine’s domestic politics after 2014. Whether or not they had corrupt motives in doing so is almost irrelevant ‐ conservative conspiracy theorists will take it from there.

Plane forced to divert as entitlement person ‘threatens to kill pilot over toilet queue'
[SUN] A plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger allegedly flew into a rage when he was told he couldn’t use the first class toilet.

The man, later identified as Jwan Curry, was filmed arguing with a steward in the onboard outburst.

In the footage, he appears to claim it is "wrong" standard class passengers should have to queue while first class toilets are "empty".

He can be heard saying: "You wrong. By making seven people wait here to use the bathroom, while the whole bathroom up there is empty, it’s wrong.

"They rather let the bathroom be empty up there and let eight people wait in line to use the bathroom while two bathrooms are empty in the front."

The Carbon Footprint Was High At Summit Dedicated To Reducing The West's Carbon Footprint
[The Federalist] Last week was a seeming high point for environmental activism. Politicians, activists, and passionate youth banded together to fight carbon emissions from cars and planes ‐ by flying and blocking traffic.

The week of September 23, politicians, diplomats, and activists met in New York City for the UN Climate Action Summit. The summit’s main talking points included calls to reduce driving, flying, meat consumption, and population growth in order to limit carbon emissions and slow global warming.

Bringing more than 100 heads of state, their entourages and teams, and invited experts, scientists, and activists led to hundreds of flights to get everyone to New York. While teenage activist Greta Thunberg sailed from her native Sweden to New York on a $1.3 million yacht, nearly all of the other attendees took flights, many private, to attend. One transatlantic flight is estimated to cause more than 2,000 pounds of carbon emissions, and the summit specifically detailed the dangers of airplane travel for the environment.

To reduce the massive carbon footprint of flying out hundreds, the entire summit could have been just as effective if held remotely. Telecommunication has become so advanced that the conference could have been a massive video call, which would have halted the flights. There is no practical reason that everyone had to be in the same room. If planes and cars are so deadly to the environment, this summit did more harm than good.

Palestinian Islamist convicted of attempted murder of German officials
[Jpost] A German court in the southern city of Augsburg on Wednesday sentenced a radical Islamist Paleostinian
...according to an earlier Gates of Vienna article, he is actually Syrian, and had spent some unknown amount of time with ISIS...
asylum seeker to a 10 year prison term for attempting to murder judges and prosectors. Haidar A, the Death Eater Paleostinian, had previously been sentenced in 2017 for attempting to behead a refugee.

"It's amazing how a young man can be so caught up in hate, anger and blind rage," said presiding judge Sandra Mayer, " reported the local paper Augsburger Allgemeine. She added that "Haidar A. is caught in almost medieval ways of thinking and the court has little hope that he will develop for the better."
So, put him down like a rabid dog
The court sentenced the 26-year-old Haidar for six attempted murders on Wednesday. Haidar sought during the judicial process in the Summer of 2017 to take the weapon of a police office in the courtroom. He was, according to the Augsburger Allgemeine, upset that the court sentenced him to a lengthy prison term for attempting to behead a asylum seeker with a knife in the town of Hurlach--a municipality in the district of Landsberg in the southern German state of Bavaria .

Haider also spat in the direction of the judge's bench and screamed: "To hell with you and those who created you."

Haidar wanted to behead the refugee because he "insulted his religious feelings," according to the paper's report. The court sentenced him to 12 years and nine months in prison. When the prison sentence was announced, Haidar tossed his shoe in the direction of the judge and attempted to secure the firearm of a police officer. The combined sentences from 2017 and Wednesday likely mean that Haidar could serve a prison term longer than 20 years.

Haidar wrote in a letter to cousins that judge is a "whore" and the other judges are her "pimps." He wrote in the letter that he wants to kill the judges. Haidar also admitted in a letter that he sent to the court that he wanted to carry out a campaign of bloody Dire Revenge on Germans and Christians. The German Bild paper reported that he wrote the panel of judges overseeing his case:

"I promise, if I get a pig from your worshipers of the cross in the hands, I will drink his blood. I'll spit at you and your cross. "

Israeli forces arrest dozens of Palestinians in West Bank raids
[Presstv] Israeli forces have arrested over two dozen Paleostinians, among them senior members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine (PFLP), in raids across the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli military said on Sunday that it had arrested 27 Paleostinian people on suspicion of involvement in planned attacks over the weekend.

Paleostinian media reported that senior PFLP figures and former political prisoners were among the detainees.

The Paleostinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said Israeli soldiers invaded and violently searched homes in the West Bank, and interrogated many Paleostinians while inspecting their ID cards.

The raids took place in the cities of Jenin, Nablus, Bethlehem and Tulkarm, the towns of Awarta, Asira ash-Shamaliya and Birzeit, the villages of Nahalin, Deir Abu Mash'al, Nabi Salih and Kobar, as well as the Balata refugee camp.

Paleostinians in some of the areas mentioned held protests against the violent raids, but Israeli forces fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at the demonstrators.

On Saturday night, Israel's so-called security agency better known by the acronym Shabak or the Shin Bet announced that it had arrested three Paleostinian men suspected of carrying out a bombing last month in the West Bank, that killed a 17-year-old Israeli girl and injured her father and brother.
The Times of Israel adds:
Paleostinian media reported that among them were senior figures in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine, who were detained in the city of Nablus and the nearby Balata refugee camp.

$15-minimum wage hike is hitting, hurting NYC restaurants
[NYPOST] Big Apple restaurants are feeling the heat from minimum-wage hikes, cutting staff hours and even closing kitchens as they struggle to shoulder the extra payroll costs.

Gabriela’s Restaurant and Tequila Bar, a margarita and taco staple on the Upper West Side for the past 25 years, is closing at the end of September ‐ and it has been a long, painful road downhill, according to its mom-and-pop owners.

Since the $15-an-hour minimum wage hit New York City in December, Liz and Nat Milner say, they’ve been forced to slash their full- and part-time staff to 45 people from 60. Quality has suffered, they admit, and customers have noticed: They’re not coming in like they used to, and when they do, they’re spending less.

"We started by having to let go of the ladies who hand-made our tortillas. It’s certainly better when you can make your tortillas fresh for every taco," Nat Milner said. "It made sense at $8 an hour but not at $15."

Black teacher exposes danger of teaching white supremacy!
[Colin Flaherty] A Black teacher was fired after exposing the dangers of teaching white supremacy
...the pernicious doctrine that laws were intended to be obeyed, that society works better when people don't pour shreiking from their places of worship every Friday for a weekend of rioting over insults real or imagined; and that cannibalism, beastiality, incest, murder, theft, rape, and similar activities are bad. A Dead White European (which invalidates his opinion) philosopher once opined that societies thrive when a person's word can be relied upon, and that a society which puts individual happiness first will invariably fail. Strangely enough, other successful societies, such as China, Japan, Korea, and those kinds of places could also be lumped with white supremacist societies, since they push the same values...

Never Mind? New York Times stealth edits its big scoop on the NRA and President Trump
[Twitchy] On Friday, the New York Times reported that President Trump met with NRA head Wayne LaPierre and that in return for their support as he head toward impeachment, the president would “‘stop the games’ over gun control legislation.”

But in the hours since they published the article, the NYT has stealth-edited the quid pro quo part out:
It’s Twitchy, so most of the article is actually tweets, which can be seen at the link.
It does say in the article that it was “Updated 6:23 p.m. ET,” but there’s no editor’s note to suggest what was changed:

Afghanistan
260 Security Incidents Reported On Election Day: Security Sources
[ToloNews] The Afghan government had deployed over 72,000 security force members to provide security for the election process.

Over 260 security incidents were reported during Saturday’s presidential election, security sources said, saying that 90 of the incidents directly targeted the polling centers.

These sources told TOLOnews that over 20 coppers and nine non-combatants were killed as a result of these incidents, while 37 coppers and 70 civilians were maimed.

The Afghan government had deployed over 72,000 security force members to provide security for the election process.

"We thwarted the majority of the enemies’ plans so they were not able to disrupt the election process. The Afghan people should be proud of their officers who stood up against them," said Hassan Hairan, an officer of Kabul Garrison.

"The Afghan people managed to go to the polling stations and vote for their favorite candidates," said Nangyalai, an Afghan military officer.

"After the completion of the election process, we will expand our clearance operations so that our people can live in a peaceful environment," said acting defense minister Assadullah Khalid.

The Kabul police reported that at least 11 security incidents occurred in Kabul, during which ten people were maimed.

Republican Flake’s statement ‘completely nonsense’: Analyst
[PRESSTV] An American political analyst has rejected as "completely nonsense" the former Republican Senator Jeff Flake
...Republican junior senator from Arizona, elected in 2012. Prior to that he was a U.S. Representative for twelve years...
’s statement that at least 35 Republican senators would vote to impeach President Donald Trump
...the Nailer of NAFTA...
and remove him from office if they could vote privately, saying that the numbers would definitely fail to reach a quorum for impeachment proceeding at the Senate.

Daniel Patrick Welch made the comments in an interview with Press TV on Saturday, after Flake ‐ a frequent critic of Trump ‐ predicted that close to three dozen Republican senators would back in private the Republican president’s impeachment.

"It’s nothing but public; It’s an absolutely and extremely public event, and there is no way on God’s green earth that 35 would vote publicly to convict this president, probably any president," Welch said.

"The whole thing is going nowhere, there is no way, you need 67 votes to convict in the Senate and there is absolutely no way to get there; so, it’s about the political theater, about chaining Trump to accept the narrative for the election campaign," he added.

Iran’s monthly capacity for gasoline export could top 3mn tons: Official
[PRESSTV] A senior Iranian oil ministry official says monthly capacity for exports of gasoline could reach three million tons.

Alireza Sadeqabadi, who heads the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), said on Sunday that Iran’s current production of gasoline, around 115 million liters a day, was enough to pump more than 500,000 tons of the fuel for monthly exports.

He said, however, that the NIORDC was ready to increase the export capacity to three million tons a month to generate around 1.5 billion in revenues for the government.

The calculations provided by the official were based on figures obtained from sell-offs of several cargoes of gasoline at Iran

The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Sadeqabadi said refineries operated by the NIORDC had pocketed more than $430 million in revenues for selling gasoline cargoes at IRENEX at a price of $500 per ton.

Exports of gasoline and other products derived from oil started in late August when authorities said there were growing demands from the neighboring countries.

Egyptian forces kill 15 militants in North Sinai raid
[PRESSTV] Security forces in Egypt have killed 15 murderous Moslems in a raid in the country’s restive region of Sinai Peninsula.

A Death Eater group was "planning hostile acts targeting military and police forces... in order to destabilize national security," the Egyptian Interior Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Security forces exchanged fire with the murderous Moslems as they stormed their hideout in a farm located in North Sinai’s bucolic provincial capital of el-Arish.

Authorities said they found a small trove of stashed weapons, including an boom belt, several rifles, and another unspecified bomb.

The ministry did not mention when the raid took place. The announcement followed recent "counter-terrorism" operations in Sinai during which authorities said 118 suspected murderous Moslems were killed.
Al Ahram adds:
No casualties were reported among the police.

"Police forces seized nine automatic rifles, three bird-eye rifles, two explosive charges and an boom belt in possession of the terrorist group."

The statement did not say when the raid took place, yet the announcement came three days after an Islamic State

The Grand Turk
Kurdish filmmaker faces up to 15 years in jail for terror-related charges in Turkey
[Rudaw] Prominent Kurdish director, filmmaker and photographer Kazim Oz will be tried in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
on Tuesday, on terror-related charges dating back to 2010. If found guilty, he could face a seven to fifteen year jail sentence.

Oz, 46, detailed the charges for which he will be tried at a court in Tunceli (Dersim) province in a tweet on Wednesday.

Charges include "being a member of a terrorist organization" for attending an event hosted by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) ‐ a predecessor of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) ‐ and participating in a protest against the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government in Istanbul’s Gezi Park protests in 2013.

The filmmaker was arrested in November 2018 as part of the case, but was conditionally released two days later.

"The ’witch hunt’ launched by the government against anyone who opposes it continues to grow to include artists," he said in the tweet, adding that the move is "punishment" for the films he has made over the last 20 years.

Turkey bans films or any other productions that it deems "propaganda" for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) - an gang struggles for cultural and political rights of Kurds in Kurdish-majority areas in Turkey, and designated a terrorist organization by Ankara.

Oz spoke to Rudaw in March about the making of Zer, a fiction film in which a Ottoman Turkish-American protagonist traces his true ethnic heritage to Kurdistan and shines light on the Ottoman Turkish government’s systematic murder of an estimated 40,000 ‐ 70,000 Alevi Kurds.

Asked about the difficulties encountered in the making of the film, Oz said Ottoman Turkish authorities actively suppressed its production.

"By the time Zer was in post-production, political tension was running very, very high. Not only did the Ministry of Culture withdraw its support for Zer, they actively began trying to suppress the film. As far as I know, Zer is the only film in Ottoman Turkish history that was first supported and then suppressed in this manner," he explained to Rudaw.

His work has been screened and awarded in Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and the United States.

He Bu Tune Bu (Once Upon A Time), a film about Kurdish labor migration in Turkey, was screened at Hamburg 3001 Kino in Germany on Saturday.

"Anything you do about the Kurdish issue, anything with the word ’Kurd’ in it gets a backlash from the government, especially recently," he said.

Films broaching controversial topics beyond the Kurdish issue have also been known to face governmental pressure.

Oz expressed defiance as he awaits Tuesday’s trial, vowing to continue his craft.

"I’d like to make cinema in a free and democratic country. But even though we’re not in a country like that, I will continue to make movies under any circumstances."

China-Japan-Koreas
Koreans stage rallies to protest Japan’s export controls
[PRESSTV] Citizens’ Action to Denounce Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, a coalition of civic groups, held its 8th so-called ’candlelight cultural festival’ in the South Korean capital, Seoul.

Protesters gathered outside Japan's Embassy and slammed Tokyo’s export curbs on South Korea. Right after the previous ’candlelight cultural festival,’ some of the protesters even did a head-shaving ceremony to show iron resolve.

Early in July, Tokyo imposed tighter controls on exports of three materials to South Korea used to make smartphone chips or displays following a diplomatic dispute over compensation for forced laborers during Japan's occupation of Korea during World War II.

Bilateral relations deteriorated after South Korea's Supreme Court last year ordered two Japanese companies to compensate the wartime workers in a ruling that Tokyo said violated international law.

Experts warn that if Japan and South Korea do not end their escalating trade war, which poses a growing threat to the world’s tech supply chain, the likelihood of global recession will increase.

Dozens of refugees rescued off Greece
[PRESSTV] Dozens of migrants colonists, including a 20-day-old infant, were rescued at sea off Greece's Lesbos Island early on Sunday, September 29, as the country faced a new surge in arrivals.

Although no comparison to the major wave of 2015, Greece is seeing a sudden increase in arrivals of migrants colonists to its shores. In the 24-hour period between Saturday, September 28, and Sunday morning, 164 migrants colonists were rescued at sea or landed on Lesbos, according to the Greek coasties. A total of 3,432 migrants colonists arrived in the past week on Lesbos and other Greek islands close to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
Volunteers from the NGO Refugee Rescue waited in the pre-dawn hours on Sunday for coasties vessels laden with rescued families to arrive at port, and helped the wet migrants colonists put thermal blankets on themselves and their children.

On Friday, September 27, seven migrants colonists, including five children, drowned after their boat capsized in the Aegean Sea near the Greek island of Chios.

More than 7,000 migrants colonists have arrived in Greece by sea in September alone, three thousand more than the same month last year, according to the refugee agency UNHCR.

The increase in arrivals has piled additional pressure on Greece's overcrowded island camps, all of which are operating at least twice their capacity.

Charity Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF) says about 24,000 migrants colonists and refugees are trapped on Greek islands camps in "horrendous" conditions, with overcrowding causing a deterioration in sanitation facilities, a lack of safety, and increasing violence.

Elon Musk unveils new Mars rocket prototype, expects missions in months
[NYPOST] Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has unveiled the latest iteration of his space company’s newly assembled Starship, outlining a speedy development timeline for the centerpiece vehicle of SpaceX’s quest to launch humans to the moon and Mars.

Musk showed a crowd of space enthusiasts and news hounds at SpaceX’s rocket development site late on Saturday in the remote village of Boca Chica, Texas, animations of Starship landing on the moon and Mars and predicted that the rocket’s first orbital flight could come in the next six months, followed by missions to space with humans aboard the next year.

"This is basically the holy grail of space," Musk said, standing between a towering, newly assembled Starship rocket and Falcon 1 ‐ the company’s first vehicle whose debut orbital mission was celebrated by SpaceX 11 years ago.

"The critical breakthrough that’s needed for us to become a space-faring civilization is to make space travel like air travel," said Musk, who is also the chief executive of electric carmaker Tesla Inc (TSLA.O).

Starship, a shiny steel rocketship designed to ferry dozens of humans to the moon and Mars, is the top half of Musk’s colossal interplanetary rocket system that stands 387 feet tall (118 meters) as the latest addition to SpaceX’s lineup of reusable launch vehicles. Musk named Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa as Starship’s first private passenger in 2018.

Fallujah: Hundreds of Sunnis missing 3 years after PMF retook city
One remembers that it was the Fallujans who hanged the charred, mutilated bodies of four Blackwater contractors from a bridge, chanting, “Fallujah is the graveyard of Americans,” back in 2004, which does make it harder to sympathize.
[Rudaw] When Iraqi police and the predominately Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) entered the Saqlawiyah district of Fallujah in Iraq’s Anbar province on June 4, 2016, they detained hundreds of local Sunnis, accusing them of fostering ties with the Islamic State

Suspect in fatal car crash spits into news camera on way into court
[NYPOST] A man arrested for the death of another driver during a wild police chase in upstate New York hocked a “loogie” at a news photographer as he was being led into court last Thursday, police said.

Skyler Crouse landed an additional charge of harassment for the act of spitting on the camera lens of a News 13 photographer filming him being led into Warren County Court, footage from the networks shows.

Crouse’s phlegm attack seemed to be in response to a reporter asking him, “You have anything you want to say about what happened today?”

The spitting suspect was facing charges for his role in the death of driver Joseph Turcotte, who died in the tragic crash.

About 8 a.m. Thursday, state troopers spotted Crouse speeding northbound near Queensbury, NY on I-87 at more than 90 miles per hour, police said.

He refused to stop and led troopers on a nearly 30-mile long chase, which ended at Exit 25 in Brant Lake after police used a spike strip to stop the speeding suspect.

The device gave Crouse a flat tire, but he continued on, getting off at Exit 25, where he struck the car being driven by Turcotte on the exit ramp, police said.

For the fatal crash, Crouse was hit with a slew of charges, including manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest.

Following his arraignment — and after his spittle spectacle — Crouse was led back out into a police cruiser with a plastic bag over his head to prevent him from striking again, video posted by WNYT reporter Emily De Vito shows.

Pope Francis: God Has a ‘Particular Concern for Foreigners’
[BREITBART] Pope Francis celebrated the World Day of Moslem colonists Migrants and Refugees in the Vatican Sunday, insisting on the "moral duty" to welcome the stranger with the compassion exhibited by God himself.

The Lord "upholds the stranger as well as the widow and the orphan among his people," the pope said in his homily at morning Mass in St. Peter’s Square. "The Lord has a particular concern for foreigners, widows and orphans, for they are without rights, excluded and marginalized. This is why God tells the Israelites to give them special care."

Citing the biblical book of Exodus, Francis said that the God of Israel is the one who "executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing."

"This loving care for the less privileged is presented as a characteristic trait of the God of Israel and is likewise required, as a moral duty, of all those who would belong to his people," he said.

Yet this message "is not only about foreigners; it is about all those in existential peripheries who, together with migrants colonists and refugees, are victims of the throwaway culture," the pope clarified.

Egyptian authorities re-arrest leading rights activist
[PRESSTV] A prominent Egyptian pro-democracy activist who was released on probation earlier this year has been re-arrested in Cairo, his family says.

Alaa Abdel Fattah’s family said he was detained as he was preparing to leave a cop shoppe in the capital on Sunday morning.

"I arrived at the cop shoppe and I found the place where he spends the probation empty. I asked them where Alaa was... The chief detective came out and told me that Alaa is at the national security prosecution," media outlets quoted his sister, Mona, as saying.

Abdel Fattah, a blogger and software engineer, was released in March after serving a five-year sentence for taking part in a peaceful protest against military trials for civilians. Under the terms of his release, authorities required the activist to report to the cop shoppe and spend every night there for the next five years.

Security sources said Abdel Fattah had been taken for an investigation over accusations of publishing false news and inciting people to protest.

Mohammed al-Baqer, a lawyer representing the activist, was also detained late on Sunday while waiting for the interrogation of his client to start at the national security prosecutor’s office.

Man charged with terrorism after driving SUV through shopping mall in Chicago suburb, officials say
A photo of the miscreant can be seen at the link.
[FoxNews] A man accused of driving an SUV through a suburban Chicago mall earlier this month who sent frightened shoppers scurrying for cover is now facing a state terrorism charge, officials announced Sunday.

Javier Garcia, 22, of Palatine, Ill., was charged with one felony count each of terrorism and criminal damage to property, according to a statement issued to Facebook by the Schaumburg Police Department. A judge denied him bail, Fox 32 reported. Police said early Sunday morning the Cook County state's attorney had authorized the charges against Garcia.

"The police investigation revealed Garcia was acting alone," police said in a statement. "A motive has not been determined. Police have no reason to believe Garcia was targeting any specific person and/or store within Sears or Woodfield Mall."

Garcia allegedly crashed a black Chevrolet Trailblazer near Sears and Rainforest Cafe at the Woodfield Mall around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 and then drove through the ground level of the shopping center.

Under Illinois law, the Class X felony of terrorism can apply if the suspect is believed to have caused more than $100,000 in damage to any building containing five or more businesses, according to a statement issued by Schaumburg Police Sgt. Karen McCarthy.

No federal charges have been brought against Garcia.
CBS News adds:
Garcia's state charges of terrorism are unusual and its not clear why the state has brought them against him. Individuals who commit violent acts are usually indicted on different federal or state charges like hate crimes or weapons possession. This is because domestic terrorism is defined in the U.S. legal code but not codified as a law that can be prosecuted.

The FBI has recorded close to 100 domestic terrorist arrests in the first nine months of this year, according to the Washington Post, citing Senate testimony in July from FBI Director Christopher Wray. And it has 850 open investigations tied to domestic terrorism, a senior FBI counterterrorism official told CBS News.

Authorities have not yet determined why Garcia allegedly drove into the mall and claim that he wasn't targeting any specific store or person. Investigators said in a statement they "believe Garcia acted alone, no motive has been determined." He was released to police custody on Friday from the AMITA Health Behavioral Institute.
Someone definitely wants to sink jihadi terrorism beneath an apparent tidal wave of other “domestic terrorists”, even if terror was not their intention at all.

France expands rape probe against Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan
[AlAhram] The French authorities have expanded an investigation against Tariq Ramadan, a leading Islamic scholar already charged in La Belle France with raping two women, to include evidence from two more alleged victims, judicial sources said Sunday.

Ramadan, a Swiss national, 57, has already been charged in La Belle France with raping a disabled woman in 2009 and a feminist activist in 2012. He denies all the charges.

Gay Paree prosecutors earlier this month instructed the investigating magistrate handling the case to look into the evidence from "two new potential victims" over incidents that took place in 2015 and 2016, a judicial source told AFP, confirming a report in Le Journal du Dimanche newspaper.

Investigators took witness statements from the two women after they were identified from documents found on his computers. The women themselves have not filed a criminal complaint.

But they both say they were led into a brutal sexual relationship with Ramadan, one from November-December 2015 and the other in March 2016.

"It was something other than physical rape, it went beyond that... there was a moral rape," one of the women said in her testimony seen by AFP.

"He had such a hold on you that you did everything that he demanded. But this relationship was consensual, yes," she said.

"I asked him to be milder, but he said 'it is your fault, you deserve it' and that he needed to be obeyed, which is what I did," the other said.

Le Journal du Dimanche said prosecutors believe the two testimonies contained "serious and concurring" evidence that could incriminate Ramadan.

Ramadan was taken into custody in February 2018 and held for over nine months before being granted bail.

Authorities in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
are also investigating him after receiving a rape complaint in that country while two other criminal complaints of rape have been filed relating to incidents in March 2018 and July 2019.

Ramadan has in the last week gone on a media offensive to deny all the allegations against him, publishing a book called "Duty of Truth" and insisting all his relationships have been consensual.

Ramadan was professor of contemporary Islamic studies at Oxford University until he was forced to take leave when rape allegations surfaced at the height of the "Me Too" movement in late 2017.

After Gillette, next male-market sports company caves to transgender madness
[AMERICANTHINKER] First was the Gillette's razor commercial with its not so subtle message about so-called toxic masculinity
...the liberal concept (the science is settled!) that men are knuckle dragging bastards who spend all their time watching football, drinking beer, burping, farting, and thumping their women. This doesn't apply if the men are girls transitioning to boys, or boys transitioning to girls, or either transitioning to sheep...
. As USA Today put it:

In a two-minute advertisement, the famous Procter & Gamble brand tells men to "say the right thing" and "act the right way." The ad plays on the company's slogan, "The best a man can get," replacing it with, "The best a man can be." It portrays a montage of male bullying, harassment and sexist behavior and men stepping in to intervene to stop the behavior.

That was relatively mild. Then Gillette followed up with an ad in which Samson Bonkeabantu Brown, a trans rights activist, is shown how to shave by her father. The commercial spends more time with the young Brown talking about how happy she is in transitioning than anything about shaving itself. The only mention of Gillette or its razors in the 64-second commercial is the last five seconds, when the name Gillette silently appears on the screen. I'd ask if this commercial is advertising or propaganda, except that the answer is obvious.

Lesbian TV hostess Ellen DeGeneres called this Gillette ad "nothing short of incredible." Indeed, it was, Ellen. Both Gillette ads drew a firestorm of criticism, but Procter & Gamble is undaunted.

Now there's another iconic male brand doing its bit to spread gender confusion. It's Everlast, the global leader in boxing-, MMA-, and fitness-related sporting goods, equipment, footwear, and accessories. Here's what the company did, as reported by Page Six:

In December, Patricio Manuel became the first transgender boxer in the world to compete in a professional-level fight. And now, Everlast is recognizing the athlete's groundbreaking achievement by naming him [sic] the face of its newest "Be First" campaign.

The 34-year old fighter first garnered the industry's attention as a female boxer before choosing to transition in 2013.

Manuel, who is female, was a five-time USA woman's national amateur boxing champion. Video at the site shows a three-minute video clip of Manuel today explaining her "transition" and some footage of her first pro fight in 2018 as a man, which she won. Manuel has had no pro fights since.

#8  There will be a new counterculture.

Privately-owned companies (like Chick Fil-A, or Koch Industries) that are impervious to boycotts or "woke" pressure;

Charter schools and homeschooled kids;

Alternative news aggregators and small-scale social media that isn't dependent on data sharing with programmatic ad-serving companies;

Self-publishers and bootstrapped film producers / entertainment conpanies.

The q is whether the above companies and institutions can attain a critical mass so that a citizen could progress through an alternative path, from schooling to employment to self-( and -family) support, without having to interact with or be dependent on the "woke" culture and its institutions.

Is that possible?
How long before it becomes a realistic option?

US unilateral sanctions crime against humanity: Iran diplomat
[PRESSTV] Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the UN office in Geneva says the US sanctions and unilateral punitive measures have very broad and serious impacts on the fundamental human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
and are tantamount to crimes against humanity.

Addressing the 42nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
, Esmaeil Baqaei Hamaneh, said the international community has announced that imposing sanctions are against international law, warning that the continuation of such an unlawful approach by certain countries poses a threat to global peace and security and challenges the structure of the collective security based on the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Charter.

The senior Iranian diplomat also criticized UN Human Rights Commissioner Michelle Bachelet for not including in her report the negative impacts of sanctions on people's rights, calling for a serious measure to relieve the human suffering caused by unilateral sanctions imposed by some countries.

Baqaei invited countries to adopt legal strategies to reduce the impacts of sanctions, saying that the international community's consensus on the need to oppose the extraterritorial implementation of illegal sanctions could play a leading role in this regard.

#2  The left in the US has always been anti fracking. The fact its a pro muzz position just makes it even more tasty for them.

#4  Saudi have led a life of 'fat, dumb and happy' for a half-century. Thus the Wahabbi warrior is a distant memory. Now, the Saudis use Europeans, slaves and imported servants to do everything but wipe... Saudi Arabia, like the Catholic Church, is finished.

#6  So, suppose Iran conqueers Saudia - is it really a bad thing, with fracking and all?

Would Israel really want an Iranian controlled country right up against their border?

#7  #6 a) Saudia is not against our border.
b) IMO, Saudia is a lot more dangerous than Iran
c) There will be costs to Iran conqueering Saudia

Saudi military filled with cronies, not competent: Analyst
[PRESSTV] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s failure to defend itself against recent retaliatory attacks by Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i forces is proof that the Saudi military is in no way competent and just a "fraud," says an American political analyst.

The remarks by Brian Downing, a US journalist and political hack commentator, on Press TV came in the wake of audacious attacks on the kingdom’s southern border region of Najran
a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen. It is the capital of the province of the same name, a favored target of Houthi rocket forces because they can see it, so there's no math involved....
and Aramco oil refining facilities.

"The Saudi military is pretty much a fraud, the house of cards spends a lot of money but it’s not a competent military at all," he told "The Debate" program Saturday night.

"The Saudi military is filled with cronies. You don’t get to be a colonel or a general by passing professional tests and showing your mettle. You get it by being related to someone in the royal family or a friend thereof," Downing said.

"Furthermore, there are a lot of tribal factions within the Saudi military. They don’t work side by side together very well, they don’t trust one another and that’s going to hurt the unit combat ferocity," he added.

Yemeni armed forces announced on Saturday that three Saudi military brigades were completely destroyed after they mounted a large-scale military offensive in Najran.

Speaking at a presser in the capital Sana’a, Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e described the God's Victory operation as the biggest ever since Saudi Arabia and some of its allies embarked an atrocious military campaign on Yemen more than four years ago.

#2  There is an interesting memoir of how an American officer was captured in Kuwait at the start of Gulf War I while in mufti: Road to Baghdad: Behind Enemy Lines: The Adventures of an American Soldier in the Gulf War by Martin Stanton, Alan Sklar, et al.
It seems that he was an military adviser assigned to one of the Saudi National Guard units. Some of the comments on what the Saudis considered normal military behavior are ... interesting.

#4  I recall a neighbor telling me stories about his Vinelle contracting tour with the SANG some 30 odd years ago. It seems the contractor firm routinely "failed to train to standard." Quite difficult to train the little foks when they show up at 0900 and take off for the day at 1300, that's provided they show up for training at all.

Hardly a new problem.

Europe
Austria's conservative leader Kurz wins parliamentary polls
[PRESSTV] Austrian conservative leader Sebastian Kurz triumphed in Sunday's parliamentary election, as widely expected, but he will need a coalition partner to form a stable government, and the vote left him several options across the political spectrum.

The election followed the collapse in May of Kurz's coalition with the far-right Freedom Party (FPO) after a video sting scandal that forced FPO Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache to step down.

Kurz, 33, has been largely unscathed by the scandal, even gaining voters from the FPO as its support has slipped to roughly a fifth of the electorate from a little more than a quarter in the last vote in 2017.

As predicted by opinion polls for months, Kurz's People's Party (OVP) came a comfortable first, with 37.2% of the vote, according to a projection by pollster SORA for national broadcaster ORF published soon after voting ended.

The Social Democrats came second with 22.0%, well ahead of the FPO on 16.0% and the resurgent Greens on 14.3%, the projection showed. It has a margin of error of 1.8 percentage points.

Sanders attacks ‘destructive’ Kissinger after Pompeo visit
[PRESSTV] US Senator Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being a socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
has attacked former Secretary of State and national security adviser Henry Kissinger over his "destructive" legacy after his meeting with Mike Pompeo.

The 2020 presidential candidate said in a tweet Sunday that in his administration, Kissinger’s advice would not be sought.

"Henry Kissinger was one of the most destructive Secretaries of State in the history of this country," the Vermont senator said. "A Sanders administration will not be taking advice from Henry Kissinger," Sanders added.

#1  Kissinger's record is spotty. Negotiating the "peace" in Viet Nam is what he's know for. Of course the only thing the Viet Cong had to deal was the POW / Mia issue and nobody is actually satisfied with how that went down. Suppose we had a no deal end to the Indochina conflict. John McShame never comes home, we get new aerial refueling jets 20 years sooner and maybe a credible opponent to Bath House in 2008. Alternate history.

#2  "A Sanders administration will not be taking advice from Henry Kissinger," Sanders added.

Unless of course you wish to invest in Communist China. Kissinger is your 'go to' person if that is your goal, he has been for decades.
