[ToloNews] Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Vice and Virtue, told TOLOnews that 4,500 enforcers (Mohtasib) are actively working across the country to prevent immoral acts.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the enforcers are obligated to treat people kindly and avoid inappropriate behavior.
Khyber stated: "Women who were previously deprived of their inheritance and other rights have had these rights restored through the efforts of the enforcers. Additionally, the immoral acts that used to take place in society, and still occur, have been significantly curbed by the enforcers, making their work 100% effective."
According to the spokesperson, enforcers must first apply God's commandments to themselves before imposing them on others.
Saif-ul-Islam Khyber added: "An enforcer must have good character, and his behavior must be exemplary, so that through his words, people can quickly recognize their mistakes."
Meanwhile,
...back at the wine tasting, Vince was about to start on his third quart... several religious scholars consider the work of the enforcers crucial for improving society and emphasize that they should focus on preventing immoral acts.
Mohammad Mubarez, a religious scholar, told TOLOnews: "It is necessary for preachers to eliminate the misfortunes of society and present the positive aspects within the framework of Sharia to the people."
Sangeen Qaderi, another religious scholar, said: "to Allah (God), human dignity is more important than anything, and during preaching, people's dignity must not be compromised. People should be guided through good morals."
Previously, the Ministry of Vice and Virtue announced that its enforcers had prevented nearly 5,000 forced marriages across the country.
[KhaamaPress] The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced that 25 Afghan citizens have been released from prisons in Iraq.
According to the ministry, these individuals were locked away You have the right to remain silent... for six months in various provinces of Iraq because they did not have legal documents.
The statement mentioned that the released prisoners returned to Afghanistan through Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. Once they arrived at the Nimroz border, officials registered them and referred them to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for assistance.
The release of these Afghan citizens highlights the importance of cooperation between countries in addressing detained individuals’ legal and humanitarian needs.
Their return and referral to the IOM show the efforts to reintegrate and support them as they rebuild their lives.
This event underscores the need for stronger legal protections for migrants colonists to prevent such detentions and ensure their rights are respected.
This comes at a time when Afghanistan is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with widespread poverty affecting many across the country.
[KhaamaPress] The French anti-terrorism prosecutor announced that an Afghan citizen is being interrogated on charges of "terrorism and planning a suspected attack."
Authorities state that the plot, which involved "targeting people in a football stadium or a shopping center," appears to be linked to the Afghan suspect.
The 22-year-old Afghan suspect is one of three people that authorities had arrested earlier this week in Toulouse ...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France... . The other two detainees have been released from custody.
Officials revealed that after investigations began on September 27, a "plot to carry out violent mostly peaceful acts targeting people in a football stadium or a shopping center" emerged, which seemingly connects to the Afghan suspect.
They added that they have found "several elements" that seem to link the individual to "radicalism" and adherence to "the ideology of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS)."
The case highlights the continued vigilance of French authorities against potential terrorist threats, especially those targeting public venues. This investigation also underscores the broader challenges in countering radicalism and preventing violent mostly peaceful extremism.
As authorities proceed with the inquiry, the global focus remains on strengthening security and addressing the root causes of radicalization to protect communities from such risks. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of international cooperation in tackling terrorism.
[IsraelTimes] A US official tells The Times of Israel that US President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity.... ’s administration is considering transferring Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) air defense systems to Israel, but adds that a decision has not yet been made.
Earlier, several Israeli reports claimed that the US will deploy the anti-ballistic missile system in the Jewish state — including sending American troops to Israeli soil to operate it — as part of preparations for the expected Israeli response to Iran’s recent missile attack.
The US has a wide range of missile defense systems arrayed across the Middle East and Europe, including Patriot systems. Officials have been discussing for months what types of air defense systems to deploy to the region and where to put them. Any move of a THAAD to Israel would involve the deployment of soldiers to operate the complex system.
A year ago, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the deployment of a THAAD battery and additional Patriot battalions to locations around the Middle East to increase the protection of US forces and to aid in the defense of Israel. According to an April report by the Congressional Research Service, the US Army has seven THAAD batteries. Generally, each consists of six truck-mounted launchers, 48 interceptors, radio and radar equipment, and it requires 95 soldiers to operate.
The THAAD is considered a complimentary system to the Patriot, but it can defend a wider area. It can hit targets at ranges of 150-200 kilometers (93-124 miles).
[IsraelTimes] A Jewish school in Toronto was hit by gunfire Saturday for the second time this year, local police say, amid a rise in antisemitic attacks in Canada in the wake of the war in the Middle East.
No one was injured after shots were fired from a vehicle at around 4 a.m. local time at the Bais Chaya Mushka girls school, with the only damage being a broken window, according to authorities.
The school in the North York area of Toronto was targeted in a similar incident in May, and police believe the two shootings are connected.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ...hereditary prime minister of the Great White North... says he is "very disturbed" by the incident, which comes as Jewish people celebrate Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism.
"As we wait for more details, my heart goes out to the students, staff and parents who must be terrified and hurting today," Trudeau says in a post on X.
"Antisemitism is a disgusting and dangerous form of hate — and we won’t let it stand," he adds.
According to a report published in May by Jewish organization B’nai Brith Canada, antisemitic acts more than doubled in the country between 2022 and 2023.
In November 2023, a Jewish school in Montreal was shot at twice in a single week, with no one injured.

The Iran-backed Houthis have detained dozens of staff from UN and other humanitarian organizations, most of them since June, claiming they are members of a "US-Israeli spy network," a charge the United Nations ...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society... denies.
"We are extremely concerned about the reported referral to ’criminal prosecution’ by the Huthi de facto authorities of a significant number of arbitrarily detained colleagues," says a statement signed by principals of affected UN entities and international NGOs.
The Houthi authorities have not issued any announcement in this regard.
The signatories of the statement included WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, UNESCO head Audrey Azoulay, UN human rights When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much... chief Volker Turk and Oxfam International executive director Amitabh Behar.
The Houthis have kidnapped, arbitrarily detained and tortured hundreds of civilians, including UN and NGO workers, since the start of Yemen’s civil war in 2014, according to rights groups.
In June, the Houthis detained 13 UN personnel, including six employees of the Human Rights Office, and more than 50 NGO staff plus an embassy staff member.
The Houthis claimed they had arrested "an American-Israeli spy network" operating under the cover of humanitarian organizations — allegations emphatically rejected by the UN Human Rights Office.
Two other UN human rights staff had already been detained since November 2021 and August 2023 respectively. They are all being held incommunicado.
[IsraelTimes] 5 arrested as activists block Tel Aviv highway, light tires to form message: ‘Sorry we were taken hostage’; Families Forum and others arrange prayer services at Hostages Square
Once again all the photos are cropped in close up to give no indication of crowd size. The tweeted video shows at most two or three dozen.
As Israeli Jews marked Yom Kippur, activists for the release of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza held multiple protests over the weekend that were centered around the day’s focus of apologizing for sins, asking the captives for forgiveness and charging that the government doesn’t deserve forgiveness for failing to return the abductees.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum also arranged prayer services dedicated to the hostages at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv at the beginning of Yom Kippur on Friday evening and the end of the holiday on Saturday evening. The services were organized in partnership with the Orot Shaul yeshiva in Tel Aviv and the Tzohar rabbinical organization.
The solemn fast day of Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year, is traditionally considered a day of atonement and repentance as God decides whether to forgive or punish people’s sins of the past year.
On Saturday evening, protesters blocked Tel Aviv’s Ayalon Highway and lit tires on fire to form the words, “Sorry we were taken hostage.”
Police said they arrested five demonstrators, adding that the road had been reopened after officers cleared the protesters.
[IsraelTimes] Long overshadowed militarily by Iran-backed terror group and unable to keep it away from border, army has withdrawn to 5 km from frontier, but may put up a fight if IDF approaches
Since Israel launched its ground invasion of Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , Israeli forces and Hezbollah terror operatives have clashed along the border while the Lebanese army has largely stood on the sidelines.
It’s not the first time the national army has found itself watching war at home from the discomfiting position of bystander.
Lebanon’s widely beloved army is one of the few institutions that bridge the country’s sectarian and political divides. Several army commanders have become president, and the current commander, Gen. Joseph Aoun, is widely regarded as one of the frontrunners to step in when the deadlocked parliament fills a two-year vacuum and names a president.
But with an aging arsenal and no air defenses, and battered by five years of economic crisis, the national army is ill-prepared to defend Lebanon against either aerial bombardment or a ground offensive by a well-equipped modern army like Israel’s. Moreover, Israel is explicitly fighting solely against Hezbollah, and not against the Lebanese army or the Lebanese state.
The army is militarily overshadowed by Hezbollah. The Lebanese army has about 80,000 troops, with around 5,000 of them deployed in the country’s south. Hezbollah has more than 100,000 fighters, according to the Iran-backed terror group’s slain leader, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The late, lamented satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...> . Its arsenal — built with support from Tehran — is also more advanced.
A CAUTIOUS INITIAL RESPONSE
Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters have been clashing since October 8, 2023, when the terror group began firing rockets over the border in support of its ally Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , which committed a massacre in southern Israel a day earlier.
In recent weeks, Israel has conducted a major aerial bombardment of Lebanon and a ground offensive that it says aims to push Hezbollah back from the border — as required by a 2006 UN Security Council Resolution — and allow tens of thousands of displaced residents of northern Israel to return after a year.
As Israeli troops made their first forays across the border and Hezbollah responded with rocket fire, Lebanese army soldiers withdrew from observation posts along the frontier and repositioned about 5 kilometers (3 miles) back.
So far, Israeli forces have not advanced that far. The only direct festivities between the two national armies were on October 3, when Israeli tank fire hit a Lebanese army position in the area of Bint Jbeil, killing a soldier, and on Friday, when two soldiers were killed in an Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in the same area. The Lebanese army said it returned fire both times.
Lebanon’s army declined to comment on how it would react if Israeli ground forces advanced farther.
Analysts familiar with the army’s workings said that, should the Israeli incursion reach the current army positions, Lebanese troops would put up a fight — but a limited one.
The army’s "natural and automatic mission is to defend Lebanon against any army that may enter Lebanese territory," said former Lebanese Army Gen. Hassan Jouni. "Of course, if the Israeli enemy enters, it will defend, but within the available capabilities ... without going to the point of recklessness or suicide."
ISRAELI AND LEBANESE ARMIES ARE ’A TOTAL OVERMATCH’
The current Israeli offensive in Lebanon is its fourth in the neighboring country in the past 50 years. In most of the previous invasions, the Lebanese army played a similarly peripheral role.
The one exception, said Aram Nerguizian, a senior associate with the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, was in 1972, when Israel attempted to create a 20-kilometer (12-mile) buffer zone to push back Paleostinian Liberation Organization fighters.
At that time, Nerguizian said, the Lebanese army successfully slowed the pace of the Israeli advance and "bought time for politicianship in Beirut to seek the intervention of the international community to pressure Israel for a ceasefire."
But the internal situation in Lebanon — and the army’s capabilities — deteriorated with the outbreak of a 15-year civil war in 1975, during which both Israeli and Syrian forces occupied parts of the country.
Hezbollah was the only faction that was allowed to keep its weapons after the civil war, for the stated goal of resisting the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon — which ended in 2000.
By 2006, when Hezbollah and Israel fought a bruising monthlong war, the Lebanese army "had not been able to invest in any real-world postwar modernization, had no ability to deter Israeli air power" and "was left completely exposed," Nerguizian said. "The few times that the [Lebanese army] and Israeli forces did engage militarily, there was total overmatch."
iINTERNATIONAL AID HAS BEEN A MIXED BLESSING
After the 2011 outbreak of civil war in neighboring Syria and the rise of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (IS or ISIS) terror group there, the Lebanese army saw a new influx of military aid. It successfully battled against ISIS on Lebanon’s border in 2017, although not alone — Hezbollah was simultaneously attacking the group on the other side of the border.
When Lebanon’s financial system and currency collapsed in 2019, the army took a hit. It had no budget to buy weapons and maintain its existing supplies, vehicles and aircraft. An average soldier’s salary is now worth around $220 per month, and many resorted to working second jobs. At one point, the United States and Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... both gave a monthly subsidy for soldiers’ salaries.
The US had been a primary funder of the Lebanese army before the crisis. It has given some $3 billion in military aid since 2006, according to the State Department, which said in a statement that it aims "to enable the Lebanese military to be a stabilizing force against regional threats" and "strengthen Lebanon’s illusory sovereignty, secure its borders, counter internal threats, and disrupt terrorist facilitation."
US President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences... ’s administration has also touted the Lebanese army as a key part of any diplomatic solution to the current war, with hopes that increased deployment of its forces would supplant Hezbollah in the border area.
But that support has limits. Aid to the Lebanese army has sometimes been politically controversial within the US, with some politicians arguing that it could fall into the hands of Hezbollah, although there is no evidence that has happened.
In Lebanon, many believe that the US has blocked the army from obtaining more advanced weaponry that might allow it to defend against Israel — America’s strongest ally in the region and the recipient of at least $17.9 billion in US military aid in the year since the war in Gaza began.
"It is my personal opinion that the United States does not allow the [Lebanese] military to have advanced air defense equipment, and this matter is related to Israel," said Walid Aoun, a retired Lebanese army general and military analyst.
Nerguizian said the perception is "not some conspiracy or half-truth," noting that the US has enacted a legal requirement to support Israel’s qualitative military edge relative to all other militaries in the region.
[SaharaReporters] Senator Mohammed Ndume, representing Borno South senatorial district, has expressed concerns regarding the looting of crops by murderous Moslems in the Gwoza communities of Borno State.
Ndume on Wednesday disclosed that he had been reliably informed by village heads from the affected areas—specifically Ngoshe, Kirawa, Ashigashiya, and surrounding communities—about the dire situation facing local farmers, who are now left frustrated and hungry due to the loss of nearly half of their agricultural produce.
"Regarding the renewed Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... killings, especially targeting farmers while harvesting their crops, I was reliably informed by the village heads of the affected Gwoza communities that almost half of the crops produced by resilient farmers in Ngoshe, Kirawa, Ashigashiya, and other surrounding communities around the Mandara Mountains were looted by terrorists, leaving local farmers frustrated and hungry," he was quoted by Vanguard as saying.
Ndume, a former chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, called on the Nigerian government to enhance military capabilities by providing adequate equipment and motivation to Nigerian forces.
He noted a conversation with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who assured him of plans to deploy additional troops to Gwoza to enable farmers to protect their crops.
"The military is determined and committed to ending Boko Haram’s madness, but this cannot be possible if they are not fully equipped, armed, trained, and motivated," Ndume said.
The senator also addressed rumours circulating on social media regarding an ambush of his convoy by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, stating that he had safely returned from a condolence visit to families of those recently killed in the region.
He explained an incident from Tuesday, where his convoy, escorted by military personnel, was en route to Ngoshe when they received alarming reports of an ambush on Cameroon ...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there... ian soldiers along the Pulka-Kirawa Road.
He said despite the threats, he and his team proceeded to Kirawa, where they offered condolences to the families affected by previous attacks.
He encouraged residents to remain resilient amidst the ongoing violence, which has seen an increase in Boko Haram activities in the area.
Ndume said the ambush on the Kirawa road targeted a Cameroonian businessman, Alhaji Kadi, who was killed alongside an unidentified woman, with several others sustaining injuries.
[SaharaReporters] Terrorists, locally dubbed as bandidos, now receive ransom through bank electronic transfer in Zamfara State, North-West, Nigeria.
SaharaReporters learnt that some of the Death Eaters were paid N2million ransom through a moniepoint virtual bank account on October 3, 2024.
A money transfer instrument seen by SaharaReporters showed that N2million was paid into a Palmpay virtual bank account number 7026353728, owned by one Musa Muhammad, believed to be a bandit in Zamfara State.
This was reported by a conflict and crisis journalist in Nigeria's Northwest, Bakatsine on his X social media handle.
Bakatsine, disclosed that after the N2 million bank transfer, the bandidos instructed that additional millions be delivered to a specified location according to a credible source.
The incident, reportedly happened in the Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
"Bandits in Zamfara State received ransom through bank transfer. After transferring N2million to their bank account as requested, they later instructed that additional millions be delivered to a specified location according to my source the incident happened in Shinkafi LGA, Zamfara State," Bakatsine posted.
[SaharaReporters] No fewer than eight personnel of the Zamfara State Security Outfit popularly known as Askarawa have been killed by button men suspected to be bandidos.
It was learnt that the members of Community Protection Guards established by Governor Dauda Lawal to complement the efforts of other security agencies in the state were killed in an ambush.
The Commander of the Community Protection Guards in the state, Brigadier General Mohammed Lawal confirmed the incident to Channels TV.
He affirmed that the personnel were ambushed at their checkpoint, a few kilometers outskirt of Tsafe town, the headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Area. Adding that the personnel were deployed to the area due to the incessant abduction of travelers along the Gusau-Funtua Highway which has reduced drastically since their deployment
"When I got to know about the bandidos’ route around that area which they used to kidnap travelers, I told the Governor and we deployed the CPGs to that side, armed with two Hilux vehicles; the area is covered by mountains.
"For about two months now, they have been there, they will resume early in the morning and vacate the place around 6:30pm for other patrols. Since then, kidnappings along that axis have been reduced."
"The bandidos slept in a community around the area. In the morning when the Hilux vehicle dropped the first set to our personnel and returned to pick others, the bandidos who had already laid ambush opened fire on them and unfortunately, we lost eight of our men, and one traveller was also shot.
"As they (bandidos) are also planning, we are also planning because I just discovered another route where the bandidos block the road to kidnap people around Wanzamai. We will not relent and Insha Allah we will flush them out of this state," he said.
[SaharaReporters] At least 11 people have been killed, several injured, and multiple residents kidnapped following a series of coordinated attacks by armed bandidos on communities in the Kankara Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.
It was gathered that the attacks began earlier this week and have left residents in fear and disrupted farming activities across the affected areas.
Daily Trust reports that local sources said the attacks started on Monday in Kukasheka village, where four people were killed and others maimed.
The violence escalated on Wednesday, with more casualties in different villages.
In Ammarawa, bandidos killed four people and injured one in an early morning assault, while Dan Gani village saw one fatality and the abduction of seven villagers.
Meanwhile,
...back at the secret hideout, Scarface Al sneeringly put his proposition to little Nell... in Tudu village, a woman named Saude was kidnapped during a mid-morning attack around 9 a.m.
Residents of Kankara LGA have expressed growing concerns over the lack of security and the increasing threat to their lives and livelihoods.
The bandidos’ activities have also prevented farmers from accessing their crops, deepening fears of food insecurity in the region.
However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... residents explained their frustration, lamenting that banditry has made it nearly impossible to harvest their crops safely.
One resident shared a personal tragedy, recounting how his father was attacked on their farm just two days after the same group killed his brother.
Despite sustaining a severe head injury, his father passed away nine days later in the hospital.
Meanwhile,
...back at the secret hideout, Scarface Al sneeringly put his proposition to little Nell... Katsina State Police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, assured that an investigation into the attacks was underway.
Kankara has been a hub of banditry for years, with Death Eaters continuing to cause havoc despite ongoing security measures. In response, the Katsina State government launched the Community Watch Corps, a local security initiative credited with reducing the frequency and scale of attacks.
However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... bandidos remain undeterred, carrying out bold assaults even in broad daylight.
[Rudaw] Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, a former colonel in the British army and security expert on chemical biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons, discusses potential targets in Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... for Israel including nuclear, military, and oil facilities in an interview with Rudaw’s Zana Kayani ... four star general, Chief of Army Staff of the Mighty Pak Army. Kayani was the former Director General of ISI... on Tuesday. Bretton-Gordon’s comments come nearly a week after Iran launched around 200 missiles at Israeli targets and speculation builds for an Israeli response.
As Iran has not enriched uranium to weapons-grade levels, a potential Israeli strike would not create a nuclear explosion, Bretton-Gordon detailed, but there would be nuclear contamination. Such an attack, the retired colonel said, would make it "impossible for Iran to develop a nuclear weapon in the foreseeable future, which I think most people in the world would hope for. What is not known is how Iran would react if that happened."
Asked how Iran might respond if it were directly attacked, Bretton-Gordon said: "It might well be that Iran will use some of its proxies in Syria and Iraq to attack Israeli and Western facilities. Due to the ineffectiveness of Iran’s barrage, Bretton-Gordon said Tehran has limited options if it wanted to carry out follow-up attacks. Because there is uncertainty of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, he cautioned that Tehran could consider chemical weapon attacks or "an improvised nuclear device, or a dirty bomb."
Below is the full transcript of the interview.
Rudaw: I have a special guest today. We will discuss this topic together. Chemical and biological expert, Colonel Hamish Gordon. Hi, Colonel. Thanks for being with us. After Iran's attack on Israel, do you expect Israel to respond to Iran, or will Israel avoid escalating the conflict to avoid playing into Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... 's hands?
Hamish de Bretton-Gordon: Well, Israel certainly said it will attack Iran. And when Iran attacked Israel back in April of this year with 320 rockets, Israel did respond a few days later with one missile aimed at Isfahan at some of the military establishments there. So one is expecting Israel will respond - fairly soon, I expect. What targets it will hit is difficult to say. Potentially the nuclear development facilities the Iran government has to try and make a nuclear weapon or other military facilities or possibly also the oil industry; but at the moment, it's not entirely clear.
Mr. Gordon, if Israel targets Iran's nuclear facilities, what might the consequences be?
Well, I think there are a number of issues here. First of all, if Israel did attack the nuclear facilities, there is very unlikely to be some sort of nuclear explosion as relatively small amounts of uranium, which is required to make a nuclear device, is likely to be stored there. And Iran is not yet enriched uranium to the required level - 90 percent pure - in order to make a nuclear device. So there would be some contamination, certainly, but it would not create a nuclear explosion. What it probably would do is make it impossible for Iran to develop a nuclear weapon in the foreseeable future, which I think most people in the world would hope for. What is not known is how Iran would react if that happened. Iran has already fired over 500 missiles at Israel, and most of those have been destroyed before they have hit the ground.
It's difficult to know how Iran could escalate. Their terrorist proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s have been attacking ostensibly Israel for some time now, but they have been severely damaged in the Israeli counterattacks in the last few months or so. It might well be that Iran will use some of its proxies in Syria and Iraq to attack Israeli and Western facilities. It is a remote possibility, I think, that Iran might try and fire chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented... into Israel. But I think because they have seen that their missiles have not been able to strike Israel, there's no reason why a missile with a chemical weapon in it would do that as well. So I think their options are fairly limited and no doubt allies in the region and the US and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure.... are trying to de-escalate this as much as possible. And of course, everybody in the world and the region in particular would like to see a ceasefire between Israel and Iran as soon as possible.
You mentioned other countries' role in the region. Why is the US urging Israel not to strike Iran's nuclear facilities?
Well, I think it's both of those reasons. There is a concern that certainly there would be some sort of contamination in the areas where those facilities are. I think people are not fully aware of how advanced Iran's nuclear capability is. And as I said, the desire to prevent Iran escalating with potentially chemical weapons or whatever nuclear capability they have. I think there is also concern about the relationship between Iran and Russia over the last year or so. We know that Iran has given a lot of missiles, ballistic missiles to Russia -
Yes sir, do you think that Iran would use nuclear weapons in response?
There is a possibility, and I think that is what the Americans are concerned about. Yes, Iran could respond possibly with chemical weapons or with some sort of nuclear device, probably not a fully-fledged nuclear weapon, maybe an improvised nuclear device, or a dirty bomb. So that is the issue. And of course, the other thing that the US is saying is not to attack the Iranian oil industry because the Americans are very concerned about the rise in the price of petrol, and the US have an election coming up next month. There is a concern amongst American politicians that a high price of fuels would adversely affect the US election. So there are a whole host of reasons, and I think everybody really is hoping or desiring peace as soon as possible, and attacking nuclear facilities might make that less likely rather than more likely.
As you mentioned, all possibilities are available. What kind of weapons do you anticipate Israel might use if it launches an attack on Iran?
Well, I think the Israelis will use long-range precision ballistic missiles, which they have used before. These are either would be launched directly from Israel or they also in some of their stealth fighters, like their F-35s, have the ability to fire missiles from these aircraft, but it is likely to be precision missiles no doubt supported by electronic warfare and other capabilities to ensure that they strike their targets and Iranian air defense does not take them down. But it is clear that the Iranians do not have similar air defense to the Israeli's Iron Dome. Israel fired one missile in April, which hit its target. And as we've seen, 500 missiles from Iran very few hit their targets. So it will be precision-guided missiles either fired directly from Israel or from Israeli fighter jets, I expect.
Iran claims it will use newer weapons and technology in its next attack on Israel. What are Iran's current capabilities in military technology?
Well, I'm very surprised that they haven't used them already. Iran has been humiliated by the fact that all the missiles it's fired towards Israel have not been hit. So I think there is an amount of bluff and bluster here. I'm not sure that Iran has got any more sophisticated missiles. It may [from] the Russians, President [Vladimir] Putin may have given them more sophisticated missiles, but that seems highly unlikely because the Russians are so focused on missiles themselves in their illegal attack on Ukraine. So I would be very surprised if Iran has anything more sophisticated, and it's hard already. And I'd be very surprised if they had more than a few missiles that actually hit targets in Israel that penetrated the Israeli air defense system.
Mr. Gordon, what role does artificial intelligence (AI) play in the current conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine?
Well, I think it plays a very major role, more particularly in Ukraine which is where I have more experience. But the mass use of drones, miniature drones, the way that they are used is greatly enhanced by AI, enabling them to use thousands of drones at a time, controlled by very few people to attack multiple targets. And this is a new advance. When I was helping the Peshmerga in the fight against ISIS back in 2015 and 2016, ISIS [the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. ] had one or two drones that had a small impact but not a huge impact. Now we see tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of drones being used at the same time, but they wouldn't be as effective without AI. So it's fundamental for the current operation, particularly drone warfare at the moment.
What are the environmental and health consequences of using these weapons and explosives in the region and worldwide?
Well, war is never good for the planet and never has been and never will be. I think what we're seeing in Ukraine, a country absolutely devastated by war - not only with the destruction of buildings which of course we've seen over the Middle East in the last few years as well - but also the destruction of the environment. In Ukraine, we've seen dams blown up and thousands and thousands of hectares of land flooded and contaminated. We've seen rivers in Ukraine contaminated deliberately in some cases. So, yeah, war devastates the planet in every way. One only has to look at the state of buildings in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... and elsewhere, the state of buildings in Ukraine, to see that war is absolutely devastating.
I think the other element that people potentially forget is the psychological element, the effect on people's mental health. And no doubt all those young children growing up in Ukraine, in Gaza, and in Israel will be mentally scarred by the wars that are going on. So yeah, it's horrific. And somebody like myself who spent 35 years on the battlefield of the world would always advocate peace; war is to be avoided at all costs.
Chemical and biological expert Mr. Hamish Gordon, thanks for being with us, sir.
Don't worry. I'm very fond of Kurdistan. As I said, I spent two years helping the Peshmerga in the fight with ISIS.
So if Israel bombs the Iranian nuclear facilities, it will contaminate the IRAN area around it.
Which will kill Iranians sworn to the Death of every Jew, for years thereafter?
Looks like a win-win for many political & profiteers.

"Trade Winds: The trade winds, which blow from the east, dominate the region’s climate. These winds originate from the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, bringing warm, humid air from the tropics. They are strongest during the summer months (June to September) and contribute to the region’s hot and dry conditions. Westerlies: In contrast, the westerlies, also known as the prevailing westerlies, blow from the west and northwest. These winds are stronger during the winter months(December to February) and bring cooler, drier air from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The westerlies have a moderating effect on the region’s climate, reducing temperatures and humidity."

[News with Views] As I write this message, I feel obligated to put a "time stamp" on it because things are happening so quickly now. So, for your reference, this is being written in early October, 2024. The presidential election is just a little more than a month away now. By the time you read or hear this, it will be less than a month away.
And as I compile this message, the words of Barry McGuire’s 1965 song echo in my mind and I can’t help but feel this really is the time he sang about way back then, because today, we really are "on the eve of destruction." Many have waited so long for this upcoming date: November 5, 2024... for an end to the Communist Regime in power in our nation, for an end to the deliberate destruction of our country, an end to the demoniacs "building back better," "unburdened by what has been," after tearing down all that we’ve built. An end to the weaponization of our judicial system, the tyranny endured by good, patriotic and Godly men and women and an opportunity for justice to return to America.
And what have we learned over these past four years? Oh, so much. First of all, we’ve all learned we’re definitely not better off today than we were four years ago. We’ve also learned just how deep, wide and real the "Deep State" really is and that there’s no longer any aspect of our federal government that can be trusted by the people. We’ve learned the Democrats are absolute, total evil demons and the Republicans are their controlled opposition. As I’ve said before, I no longer refer to Democrats and Republicans. They’re best described as Communists and Politicians, two wings of the same foul bird.
We also learned, over the past four years, just how quickly the Deep State can implement complete global control. Let me remind you. It was Friday, March 13, 2020 that Fauci and Company went on the national airwaves and declared "just two weeks to flatten the curve." That afternoon, panic set in and stores were quickly sold out of (of all things) toilet paper. By Monday, the 16th, our nation was in full lockdown. Businesses deemed "non-essential" were forbidden to open. Masks became mandatory. People were ordered to stay in their homes. Even churches were ordered to remain closed, while liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries were deemed "essential."
It all happened so fast. And immediately, I mean within days of the COVID declaration, those "essential" businesses that remained open already had plexiglass in place, signs and stickers had been designed, printed and distributed nationwide to every open public place with the number "6" on them. We had "6" on the floors, "6" on the doors, "6" at every store checkout, arbitrarily ordering the population to remain 6’ apart. And designer masks became big business — again within days, there were literally thousands of styles of masks available for sale. Fancy, expensive masks, masks with humorous messages, masks of every shape, size and style.
[JustTheNews] "BREAKING: according to [Texas Department of Public Safety] - 2,824,613 non-citizens have DL’s, CDL’s, or ID," Rep. Chip Roy said.
Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy and state Rep. Brian Harrison, R, said that the Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed there are nearly 3 million non-citizens with driver's licenses in the state that secretary of state has allowed for use as voter ID.
The announcement on Thursday came after an Tuesday advisory by the Texas secretary of state's elections director, Christina Worrell Adkins, which states that while non-citizen driver's licenses are not acceptable as voter ID, they can be used if the person is already a registered voter.
"BREAKING: according to [Texas Department of Public Safety] - 2,824,613 non-citizens have DL’s, CDL’s, or ID - after working with my friend [Brian Harrison] to run this to ground. That’s why this matters - a lot," Roy posted on X on Thursday as he shared his earlier post with a Texas Scorecard article about non-citizens using driver's licenses as voter ID.
"Almost 3 million non-citizens have been issued driver licenses, CDLs, or IDs in Texas," Harrison wrote Thursday as he shared Roy's post on X. "The Secretary of State's office is instructing poll workers to give ballots to people with non-citizen driver licenses. [Chip Roy] is right: 'this matters a lot.' Developing.."
The secretary of state's advisory explains that only U.S. citizens are permitted to register to vote and cast ballots in Texas. However, the guidance also states that a person with a non-citizen driver’s license or identification card can vote if they are listed on the voter rolls. If the person is not on the voter rolls and has a non-citizen driver's license or ID, then they may still vote by provisional ballot.

In Ohio, we’ll let anyone vote by provisional ballot. They then have until Saturday to cure the ballot. Illegal ballots get referred to the prosecutor.

Charge the SOS with aiding and abetting vote fraud. Send a REAL message.
But the media can’t say it until after the US election or the Democrats look like complete morons. Not to mention NATO, the EU and everyone who gave billions to Ukraine with ‘unwavering support’ and ‘for as long as it takes’.
[Breitbart] Suffs, the feminist Broadway musical that counts Hillary Clinton as one of its main producers, is officially a box-office bomb, with the show announcing a closing date after reportedly failing to turn a profit after nearly six months.
The musical — a nearly three-hour celebration of the suffragette movement, featuring a cast comprised entirely of women and gender "non-binary" performers — cost $19 million to produce, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing reviewed by the New York Times. That money has not been recouped, with ticket revenue failing to cover the weekly cost of operations.
Producers announced Friday that Suffs will close January 5 — only running for eight full months since its opening on April 18, 2024. Among the show’s other producers is Meena Harris, the niece of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Clinton aggressively promoted Suffs ahead of its highly touted opening in April, appearing on late-night talk shows and even holding a Democratic fundraiser tied to the show. But her efforts, as well as reams of favorable coverage by the media, failed to juice ticket sales.

[TH] Now that President Joe Biden’s political career is officially over, Hunter Biden must find a new way to profit himself, given that his family can no longer peddle money from shady foreign businesses and his so-called "art" deals.
According to experts in the art industry, Hunter Biden’s art career is a thing of the past. Now that the president’s time in the District of Corruption is over, so is his son’s shady art business.
"His father is no longer relevant in the maelstrom, which is politics," Charlie Horne, president of Gurr Johns, an art valuation and advisory firm, told the outlet. He predicted that over time, Hunter Biden’s art market will be "wash[ed] away."
"His cachet will be short-lived. I don’t think he’s ever gotten real traction," he continued.
Critics say Hunter Biden’s short-lived art "career" was boosted solely by his father’s influence in Washington—and that may be true because only ten people bought his paintings for $1.5 million.
Last year, the GOP-controlled House Oversight and Accountability Committee investigated the Biden family to learn more about the anonymous individuals who purchased Hunter Biden's "art" at exorbitant prices. Some of his paintings, which look like a third-grader spilled paint on a canvas, were reportedly worth between $75,000 and $500,000— sold through Georges Bergès Gallery. However, there has been a lack of transparency about who is buying his pieces.
Chairwoman of art market studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Natasha Degen, pointed out that the value that Hunter Biden’s art sold does not match the value of the work itself.
The Biden family has a history of using their family name for financial or political gain, and Hunter’s art dealings were no exception. Perhaps the first son sold his paintings at an inflated price so that buyers could have access to then-Vice President Biden or meetings in the Oval Office.
At one point, Hunter Biden claimed art would be his full-time career. However, now that he has been convicted of gun crimes, he has more to worry about than whether he will use red or yellow paint to blow through a straw and onto a piece of paper and call it "art."

The 2nd stage that landed in the ocean off of Australia nailed the landing site but still had some burn through on one set of fins. The newer starships waiting to launch have that fin pair moved. There is still one ship with the fins in the same place. I don't think they will try to land that one on the catch arms but the newer ones they may. They still need to fire the vacuum engines and play with the starship's (2n stage) movements in space so I can see dunking one more in the ocean then after those issues are solved landing the newer version 2 starship on land also.
That means all stages to earth.
There is the interstage that is thrown away currently. When block 2 boosters come online there will be no throw away bits of the rocket.

What this means is we have US troops in Israel,
As Frank G points out — in Jordan, where they hate Israel even more because they need that peace treaty. The IDF wanted one of their own that they could properly coordinate with their own defenses — Arrows and David’s Sling and such — instead of the operators having to wait for requests for orders to go up the command chain, then come back down while the generals parse politics.
This is a typical slap from the Biden-Harris administration.

How come they never sent this THAAD thing to their beloved Ukrainians?
An interesting question. One possible answer is THAAD shoots down ballistic missiles in their terminal phase and not much of Rus vs Ukr involves ballistic missiles. Lots of cruise missiles of various flavors, but those are fish of a different color.

#10: Russia has been shooting lots of medium range ballistic missiles every day at the Ukraine... lots...
They are also hunting civilians in the Kearson area for grins and giggles with their UAVS and posting the videos all over Russia.

Neocons at State Victoria Nuland, Clintons wanted war with Russia because…..? Reasons
So nuland plotted a coup in Ukraine, leading eventually to puppet Zelensky who they used to provoke Russia to action by killing Russian speakers, threatening nukes on the border and threatening to join NATO which excluded Russia
Result of proxy war with Russia? Ukraine destroyed, a generation of ukrainian youth slaughtered
Great result Toria Nuland, Kagans et al, you showed them!
Now we have the US for… ? Reasons… want war with Iran.
Israel has been badly attacked by the Muslim Brotherhood…. Who are Sunnis living in Qatar and Turkey, and who have infiltrated every western country through muslim migration
But we are going to war with shia Iran…
Is Israel going to end up pulverised like Ukraine, because some ambitious twat on the make at State wants to make an “impact”…. Or because Russia geopolitical influence?
Or because US election coming with uncertain result so US State dept wants to do everything quick in case Trump puts an end to their little games?
I don’t like Iran either, but also I don’t like targets being changed from the guilty party Muslim Brotherhood
We should have bombed Qatar by now and forced Egypt and Jordan to take ALL the Arab Muslims of Gaza, and be resettling that land with Israelis now.
That is not happening, instead we have… attack iIran?

Anon1, since about 1980 Iran has been at war with the Big Satan — America — and the Little Satan — Israel. They’ve been murdering Jews around the world almost as long. Just one example is the bombing of the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires in 1994 that killed 85 and wounded over 300, directed by the IRGC and carried out by Hezbollah. Read about it here and in the Rantburg archives, though what we have records of is thehunt for the perpetrators and the connivance of Argentina’s political class in not noticing who dunnit until their faces were rubbed in it.
Iran has had sleeper agents in America for about the same length of time — we regularly have stories here when one is arrested.
Israel also regularly arrests Palestinians hired by Iran to cause trouble, and blocks internet attacks by Iranian black hats.
It’s not Victoria Nuland and that lot trying to stir up trouble, but Iran itself. The Mullahs are apparently convinced that if they start something, Allah himself will be forced to step in on their side.
*shrug* The Shiites, egged on by Iran, attack Israel. The Sunnis, egged on by Hamas/the Muslim Brotherhood, attack Israel. And the secular Arabs, originally egged on by their own culture and the Soviet Union, attack Israel. And each sometimes hooks up with one of the others for extra oomph when attacking Israel.
In other words, they are ALL guilty. And right now Iran and its proxies are the ones very actively attacking Israel. Yes, Hamas is Muslim Brotherhood — Sunni Arabs — but they are on Iran’s payroll just as much as the Shiite Arabs of Hezbollah. And also as much as the Houthis, also Shiite Arabs in Yemen.
Iran deserves to be hit so hard the rubble bounces. So will Qatar eventually, though Israel will not be doing anything directly there so long as America has their largest military base in the Middle East there — US Central Command has their forward headquarters at Al-Udeid Air Base plus over 10,000 troops, last I heard.
It still makes no sense to me, to use this war on Hamas to settle old scores with Iran
Sleeper cells are the faukt of migration
No migration = no sleeper cells
Let’s fix the actual problem and shut the borders of Western nations to Muslims. No muslim migration means we don’t have this issue.
The andweris not war with Iran IMHO it is shutting the borders and expanding Israeli territory over West Bank and gaza from the river to the sea with the arab muslims resettled in Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, permanently
And kill all the hamas leadership in qatar with missile strikes just like beirut, and if the Qataris do not like it, too bad there is a huge army base there
Why can’t we try that instead
We can always go to war with Iran later if they make a nasty vicious attack like Hamas did
But why cannot we just solve one problem properly first instead of starting a side issue?

I suspect we are living a re-balancing of focal points of global power over a drown-out period. Weakening of traditional power bases to be turned or replaced. The Ukr war is an example of the former, simply encouraging the behaviour of the MIC ripples across Europe post migra-invasion. Oct 7 shows the latter with the potential outcome of Iran as the ME power. While we were disracted by the GWOT, someone(s) had a generation to set wheels in motion. And are we distracted now, to the machinations being planned we because we are looking at teh shiny?

Israel’s score with Iran is right this minute — every day they do something more to try to destroy Israel because they object to Jews ruling themselves.
America’s score with Iran should be right this minute, because Iran has been working full tilt to refine enough uranium to make a lot of nuclear bombs that they intend to use on Israel, Saudi Arabia, and America in order to establish the Shiite Moslem caliphate they’ve been working toward since they overthrew the Shah in the late 1970s. Donald Trump got that. President Obama thought it was just peachy that Iran developed nukes, because he thought of Iran as civilized Persians, just as he thought of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt as “moderate Moslems”. He assumed that Moslem rule over the world was inevitable, and better that the moderate Moslems take over than Al Qaeda or ISIS… not realizing that in the end it would be no different whatsoever. President Biden’s goal was to finish what Obama had started — in all things including this — and as future president Kamala Harris does not think at all.
Many of the sleeper agents came here decades ago, legally or not, and got American citizenship. This problem long precedes Noe Biden opening wide the border.
Part of Hamas’s leadership is in Qatar. At the moment even more is in Istanbul, where President Erdogan cherishes them to his bosom.

Hit piece from the west. Most likely " stealth fighters in reserve for a possible war against the West". Reduced production main reason presented by PJ media is sanctions. In my opinion sanctions have hurt the west far more. Watch how promoted sanctions against China fail. The west keeps doing the same dump thing over and over shooting themselves in the foot every time. New China advanced chip development as a current example.

I am advised by my inlaws in Asheville MC to not visit [Apocalypse Tourism]. They have gathered disadvantaged neighbors and friends to their hilltop home. Openfire cooking of freezer contents and neighborhood BBQ. Plenty of firewood.
Two hour travel to a standing hotel with vacancies so they have no room. Overbooked with rescue workers, firemen, power workers, patriots.
They have food, and gas for cars and generators in 55gal drums delivered by nephew via Deuce.5 for coffee and microwave service. Charging cell phones in car or by inverter. No water so no hot water.
Buried gas station tanks are flooded. Huge contamination downstream.
Water infrastructure destroyed, Army CoE planning to pump from Lake Lure. Some weeks away.
Power poles and cell towers down. Easy power fixes, breakers and line splicing underway. Pole replacement under advisory. Pole inventory is slim, overwhelmed by demand or washed away.
Churches as shelter, OK. Feed stations, not so much. Keeping their money for reconstruction.
Mission Hospital is full. Triage underway.
My BiL, the Doctor, is on volunteer tour to the outcountry with NCNG and local with nephew's Deuce.5. They transport patients when they can but no place for them to go. Home dialysis is in trouble, no consumable supplies. Same with O2 for breathers. His medical practice was looted for drugs and picked over for supplies while still storming.
He's moved his office furniture to his basement. Exam beds for sleeping when his guests can, waiting room chairs for seating. No portable storage remaining.
Givens Estates, an elder retirement community in Asheville has no water or power and few attending employees, so no kitchen. Non-potable water is delivered for flushing, 3000 units. Families are encouraged to take the residents home. Some have nowhere to go. Many will die in place from age ailments, cold or despair. Dr. BiL moved his 97yo mother out, now in the basement with 3 other beds.
Rescue was reduced to recovery, now rubble search is over and small communities are being bulldozed for cleanup, and burial.
Send supply 'stuff' that doesn't require electricity. Blankets, quilts, robes, socks and more socks. Mountain nights down in the 40-50s. Sending money feeds the charities.
People need stuff: period supplies, ear swabs, TP, Keurig coffee makers [water is rationed, they were delighted with a pallet of canned water from Anheuser-Busch], tooth brushes and paste, cigarettes and lighters, candies, power bars, vitamins and food supplements, baby formula and diapers. Things you consume daily and throw away are unavailable.
Amazon is delivering multiple items in big box deliveries. Single items not so much. 'Next Day' is mostly next week. We have many items returned or canceled.
#5
Have my nephew checking the local emergency shelters and supply points now. Will post locations able to actually deliver items. So many are filled to brim with stuff, but unable to reach those in desperate need of items. They victims can't get to them.

Skidmark: the Ohio Department of Wildlife has nest box plans with mounting instructions for three species of owls plus bats and other birds native to Ohio. See here.
They’re not the latest research (I know specifically that the bat houses should not have the bottom floor shown there), but they are considerably better than nothing. Oh, and bat houses will be very helpful to reduce the mosquito population next summer.

Do you have any recommendations for groups we can donate to?
I can recommend The Salvation Army, they tend to show up early and stay late.
The red Cross only shows up when the media is there in force, when the media leave, so do the red Cross.
Salvation Army can use money, they actually spend most of it helping people mostly feeding them, sheltering then (in large tents and empty building they rent for the purpose, etc.) and so on.
I donate to the salvation army, but I also donate clothes and stuff that they can use.
[AMGreatness] If I may start with an understatement: It has not been a good week for team Kamala Harris. First, there was the scandal of her interview on the CBS program 60 Minutes. Asked about US influence on Israel, Harris delivered one of her signature, zero-calorie word salads. We know this because the network released a preview of the interview on social media, where it was promptly pounced upon and mocked. But when the entire interview aired, the interview was edited so that Harris’s original answer was replaced by a brief answer lifted from another part of the interview.
That bit of techno-fraud was instantly pilloried and deposited a lot of unsightly egg on the corporate face of CBS. I have not seen anything resembling an apology or even an acknowledgment from the network. As of this writing, calls for an unedited transcript of the whole interview to be released have gone unanswered. As the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway wrote, CBS’s refusal is "a huge scandal" that, among other things, "suggests that much of the entire finished product was manipulative and deceitful, and not just the one horrible example that was discovered."
Bad though the episode is for CBS, it is also humiliating for Harris. As Macbeth noted in another context, "When sorrows come, they come not single spies but in battalions." The 60 Minutes débâcle was only the advance guard assaulting team Harris last week. Then there was a disastrous "town hall" meeting in which, again, multiple humiliations were assembled. First, some attentive scribe noticed that Harris was reading her replies off a teleprompter. Remember that was supposed to be an open forum in which Harris could connect with voters personally. But here she was, repeating scripted replies to pre-formulated questions.
And that was not the worst of it. A little digging revealed that the audience, too, was scripted. As one commentator noted, "Kamala Harris’s disastrous Univision town hall featured a ’fake’ audience. 50% of the attendees were handpicked from across the country and flown to the town hall and were allowed to ask questions. The other 50% of the attendees were hired by an ’audience-for-hire’ company and weren’t allowed to ask questions. The event was completely stage-directed and fake."
An "audience-for-hire company"? Yep. I am not sure exactly which company team Harris employed, but it turns out that such initiatives are a booming business. Consider, for example, the company Crowds on Demand. Their website advertises "PROTESTS • RALLIES • ADVOCACY" and goes on to boast that
Whether your organization is lobbying to gain approval of a project, move forward a legislative initiative, bring additional pressure within complex litigation or trying to see swift and effective action in another way, we can set-up protests, rallies, demonstrations, alternatives to litigation or business disputes, coordinate phone-banking initiatives and even create non-profit organizations to advance your agenda.
I suspect that Democrats have frequent recourse to such companies. The Harris campaign, at any rate, is nearly 100% synthetic. Its crowds are actors or activists for hire. Ditto the figures populating its ads. In what has been derided as the "cringiest political ad ever," a Harris satellite, attempting to address the campaign’s masculinity deficit, just released the truly horrible "I’m-a-man-and-I’m-voting-for-Harris" ad.
Like many people, I at first thought it was a spoof, an anti-Harris production designed to make fun of her and her running mate, Tim Walz. That certainly was the effect. But it turns out that the half dozen men in the ad were not random XY creatures who just happened to support Harris for president. No, they were B-list actors, recruited and paid to deliver their lines. (And what lines they were. One actor who pretended to know something about cars, said "You think I’m afraid to rebuild a carburetor? I eat carburetors for breakfast." I am thinking of offering a reward to anyone who can tell me what that means.)
One enterprising commentator discovered who wrote the ad—Jacob Reed, a writer for the late-night talk host Jimmy Kimmel—and the real-life biographies of the actors. Let’s just say that none is a poster child for masculinity. The comments have been brutal. "Zero testosterone was used in the making of this ad"; "A Real Man instantly realizes that there isn’t a single Real Man in this pathetic beta male cringe-fest of a propaganda video"; "From the party that can’t tell you what a woman is"; "As a man, I think I walked away from this ad with a yeast infection."
The world was still ridiculing the ad when the news came that Tim Walz, in another effort to assuage the doubts about his masculinity, had invited journalists on a pheasant hunt. A bunch of photographs of the "hunt" are circulating. You’ll see lots of outdoorsy garb and a few dogs. What you won’t see are any shotguns. In a real hunting party, every hunter would have a couple of shotguns to hand. But in the fake, synthetic world of Harris-Walz, no guns were thought necessary. As someone quipped, perhaps they were planning to catch the pheasants by hand and strangle them. Eventually, Walz was given a gun, but it was painfully clear that he had no idea how to handle it. As one commentator noted, Walz’s "gun handling skills make Dick Cheney look like the safest shooter in the world. Perhaps that is why Cheney endorsed him."
All this happened in a matter of days, and the days in question are barely three weeks from the election. What we are witnessing is the panicked flailing of a campaign that is desperately attempting to recoup its lost initiative. The result is partly embarrassing, partly hilarious. Strange things can happen in the last days of a presidential campaign. Sudden reversals of fortune are not unknown. Candidates can suddenly turn things around and emerge victorious after weeks or months of trailing in the polls. The most difficult obstacle to victory, however, is being made to appear ridiculous. That is almost inevitably fatal. Harris and Walz have made themselves ridiculous time and again this last week or two. I do not believe they can recover.

In 2016 people didn't vote for Trump, they voted against Hillary. History repeats itself?

I have just about stopped watching U-Tube. Because it's like a big collection of HARRIS BS clips and ads.
Interesting to note If the video is PRO-TRUMP.
It usually seems to have a HARRIS placed ANTI-Trump ad interrupt it in the middle, or precede or follow it.

As an aside I've often wondered why introductory books on foreign languages always seem to include the equivalent of "where is the library?". I would think that the last place you would want to go would be the library.

It’s pretty bad when you cheat and still preform terribly. Think of the debate; she had earphones, the questions, the moderators beating up her opponent and she still messed it up. Kamala’s polls are about to tank as the pollsters now have to make it real before the election.

Kamala's base is about 40%. Those are solid, nothing can change it votes.
Trump's base is also about 40%.
The battle is the other 20% and ridicule is probably the most effective technique as policy arguments are boring to this 20%.

[FoxNews] Sheriff will not allow 'criminal element' into evacuation shelters during Hurricane Milton
A Florida sheriff went viral on X for declaring that criminals with outstanding warrants would be arrested at the entryway of Hurricane Milton evacuation shelters and sent to the county jail for immediate processing.
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly announced during a briefing that he has no tolerance for relaxing law enforcement's activities against the "criminal element," even during a hurricane.
"Anyone that comes in will be checked to make sure they're not a fugitive and not a sex offender," he said at the briefing. "If you are a predator, you are not allowed in the [sic] shelter. If you are a designated a sex predator in a court of law, you'll need to go to… the county jail," he said.
He explained in an interview with Fox News Digital that people with outstanding warrants will be arrested at the evacuation shelter. Sex predators, even if they do not have outstanding warrants, should go directly to the county jail, where they will be housed behind bars, until after the storm.
"Anybody that comes in is checked through a state national database to make sure that they are or not a sex predator or sex offender or a fugitive criminal element," he said.
"We want to be able to ensure that there's a safe environment, whether it's children with their parents, senior citizens, whoever, that we're not co-mingling them with inappropriate people. When it comes to sex predators, they are not allowed in our shelters that are open to the general public so they can go to our county jail and we will put them up in the fire of the jail. And when the storm is over, we'll unlock the door and push them out the door."
Florida sheriffs are known for their no-nonsense attitudes, particularly when it comes to criminals.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey has been considered "the most politically incorrect sheriff in the country" for his refusal to mince words when it comes to his dislike of criminals, whom he proudly refers to as "idiots" and "dirtbags."
Ivey is vocal on social media about his programs such as "Wheel of Fugitive," where he spins a wheel to determine who will get arrested that day. As for those who disagree with him blasting criminals publicly? The sheriff says they should "shut up."
Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson encourages citizens to shoot to kill home invaders to save taxpayer money.
"If someone is breaking into your house, you're more than welcome to shoot. We prefer you to do that, actually," he said in 2022.
"If somebody gets killed during a home invasion, the odds of them re-offending are zero. And we like those odds." he said.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd infamously recommended shooting looters until they resemble "grated cheese."
"I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns," Judd said in 2020. "I would highly suggest that if a looter comes into your home, breaks into your home while you’re there, to steal stuff, that you take your gun and you shoot him. You shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese."

Just looked at the Florida power outages site. Late Friday there were still about 2M customers without power. As of this morning about 900k. Good job but still a ways to go and probably the last 50k or so will be the most difficult.

From a link in Nn2N1’s post, it looks like they’ll have to repair/replace equipment before the last power hook-ups can be made, Lord Garth. But Florida is mostly rescued, so Governor DeSantis has already send the Florida National Guard to North Carolina to help there.
[FoxNews] Cole Bridges provided training and guidance to purported ISIS fighters who were planning attacks
A U.S. Army soldier has been sentenced to 14 years in prison having pleaded guilty to attempting to assist the Islamic State terror group on how to ambush his fellow soldiers in the Middle East during conversations in which he believed he was speaking with a terrorist.
Cole Bridges, 24, of Stow, Ohio, was handed down the sentence after a nearly five-hour Manhattan federal court proceeding in which he surprisingly requested he be given a maximum 40-year sentence. Bridges pleaded guilty to terrorism charges in June 2023.
"Honestly, I do believe that I deserve the maximum sentence," Bridges told Judge Lewis J. Liman. "I know what I did was wrong," he said, adding he would carry "regret for as long as I live."
That’s a good starting place for the rest of his life.
Liman cited numerous facts that he said demonstrated Bridges was "not a hardened criminal" and said he had no actual communications with the Islamic State organization.
Bridges, also known as Cole Gonzales, was assigned to the Third Infantry Division in Fort Stewart, Georgia, as a cavalry scout at the time of the crime, the Justice Department said. He joined the Army in September 2019.
According to court documents, about a year before he joined the Army, Bridges began researching and consuming online propaganda promoting jihadists and their violent ideology, and began to express his support for ISIS and jihad on social media.
About a year into his service, Bridges began communicating with an FBI online covert employee (OCE), who was posing as an ISIS supporter in contact with ISIS fighters in the Middle East. During these communications, Bridges expressed his frustration with the U.S. military and his desire to aid ISIS, per the court documents.
Bridges provided training and guidance to purported ISIS fighters who were planning attacks, including advice about potential targets in New York City. He also provided the OCE with portions of a U.S. Army training manual and guidance about military combat tactics, with the understanding that the materials would be used by ISIS in future attack planning.
Bridges also began supplying the OCE with instructions for the purported ISIS fighters on how to attack U.S. forces in the Middle East, including diagramming military maneuvers intended to help ISIS fighters maximize the lethality of future attacks on U.S. troops.
He also gave advice about the best way to fortify an ISIS encampment to ambush U.S. Special Forces, including by wiring certain buildings with explosives to kill the U.S. troops.
In January 2021, Bridges provided the OCE with a video of himself in his U.S. Army body armor standing in front of a flag often used by ISIS fighters and making a gesture symbolic of support for ISIS.
Around a week later, Bridges sent a second propaganda video he narrated using a voice manipulator in support of the anticipated ambush by ISIS on U.S. troops.
Judge Liman said the 14-year sentence would deter other members of the armed forces who might want to attack the military. He said Bridges had "shown signs of remorse," including expressing relief after his arrest that he had been dealing with the FBI rather than terrorists.
Bridges, the judge added, also had not sought any materials from other soldiers that might be useful to the Islamic State organization. He said the "most chilling evidence" was Bridges’ willingness to provide the undercover agent with advice on how the terrorist group could minimize casualties in an attack.
His attorney, Sabrina Shroff, asked Friday that he be sentenced to the nearly four years he has already served behind bars and argued for leniency because Bridges was lured into the plot by undercover U.S. law enforcement agents who posed as supporters of the Islamic State group.
She said Bridges was a vulnerable target who was seeking a sense of community after becoming isolated from his family and suffering from depression.

[IsraelTimes] Police say new measures a result of domestic security agency’s decision to raise threat level; will not be applied to all travelers
Norway is introducing temporary border checks on its frontiers with other Western European nations after the domestic security agency raised the terror threat level, police said Saturday.
The checks will apply until October 22, according to a police statement.
It cited "a challenging threat picture" and the October 8 announcement by the security agency, PST, that it was increasing Norway’s threat level from "moderate" to "high," the second-highest level on a five-tier scale.
PST pointed to an increased threat to Jewish and Israeli targets in particular.
Norway isn’t a member of the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... , but the country is part of the European ID-check free travel zone known as the Schengen area. It has land borders with EU and Schengen members Sweden and Finland.
Police said that the new controls won’t involve all travelers being checked, and there’s no reason to expect delays at border crossings.
Norway raised its terror level on Tuesday after police in neighboring Denmark charged two men last week suspected of detonating hand grenades near Israel’s Copenhagen embassy, while police in Sweden are investigating a suspected shooting near the Israeli diplomatic mission in Stockholm.
Changes to security include Norwegian coppers, who are normally unarmed, now carrying guns nationwide.
Sweden in August last year raised its terrorist alert to the second-highest level after Koran burning ...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women's noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship.... s outraged Moslems and triggered threats from jihadists. In Britannia, the head of Britannia’s domestic intelligence agency said Tuesday the country is facing a "staggering rise" in attempts at liquidation, sabotage, and other crimes by both Russia and Iran, as the two states recruit criminals to "do their dirty work."
Perhaps if y’all were to actually convict and imprison your criminals, instead of giving them a pat on the head and sending them home, you’d have less of an exploding rise in crimes, whaddaya think?
[IsraelTimes] Records of meetings indicate terror group was ready to carry out cross-border massacre by Sept. 2022, chose eventual timing for reasons that include judicial overhaul divisions
The deadly terror onslaught carried out by Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, had originally been planned for the previous year, but was delayed amid efforts by the Paleostinian terror group to enlist the help of Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and Hezbollah, according to a series of documents obtained by international media outlets on Saturday.
The reports cited minutes from a series of meetings held by Hamas’s military and politicianship over the course of two years, in which they planned the logistics of the attack, as well as various correspondences between Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and Iranian officials.
An initial report published by The New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... on Saturday detailed the minutes of 10 meetings spanning from January 2022 until August 2023, which the outlet said had been discovered back in January on a computer in a Hamas control center in Khan Younis.
How very interesting.
The Times said that it had verified the authenticity of the documents and had separately obtained an internal report by the Israel Defense Forces that did the same.
The contents of additional meetings and messages, mostly focused on Iran’s involvement in planning and funding the attack, were then shared by the IDF with The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal, both of which said that they could not independently verify the authenticity of the information they received.
While it was not always clear which officials had attended which meetings, The Times found that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was present at each one, while now-dead brass hatsMuhammed Deif and Marwan Issa had attended at least several of them, as did Muhammad Sinwar, Yahya’s brother.
The plan for a cross-border attack on Israel’s military infrastructure and civilian communities was first mentioned in a meeting in January 2022, The Times reported, when the Hamas officials in attendance discussed the need to avoid escalating conflict with Israel and to instead focus on "the big project."
The plan for a cross-border attack on Israel’s military infrastructure and civilian communities was first mentioned in a meeting in January 2022, The Times reported, when the Hamas officials in attendance discussed the need to avoid escalating conflict with Israel and to instead focus on "the big project."
However,
women are made to be loved, not understood... the ball may have started rolling even earlier than that, as The Post said it had obtained letters written by Sinwar to Iranian officials in which he requested financial and military assistance for a large-scale assault on Israel.
"We promise you that we will not waste a minute or a penny unless it takes us toward achieving this sacred goal," Sinwar was said to write in a letter dated June 2021.
His request appeared to have been granted, as The Wall Street Journal said it had obtained a letter in which an Iranian official confirmed the allocation of $10 million for Hamas’s armed wing. Sinwar later asked for an additional $500 million, which he said could be delivered over the course of two years, with $20 million being transferred per month.
Following the meeting in January 2022, the "big project" was discussed at length in later meetings of Hamas’s Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... leadership in April and June of that year.
It was during that period that the attack began to take shape. Last November, a 36-page document was uncovered in northern Gaza, The Washington Post reported, in which various scenarios for attacking Israel were outlined and reviewed. Among the targets discussed were shopping malls and military command centers, The Post reported, as well as the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv, which house offices, a large shopping mall and a train station. In this scenario, the terror group reportedly envisioned carrying out an attack similar to the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
However,
women are made to be loved, not understood... the report said, this plan was discarded after the terror group concluded that it lacked the ability to bring down the towers.
The Al Qaeda version of that plan required two commercial airplanes with full tanks of fuel. Nothing like that in Gaza.
Among the other plans said to have been discarded by the terror group was one that involved the use of horse-drawn carriages, which the terror group said would serve as a "fast and light mechanism" to transport fighters without drawing the attention that modern vehicles do.
By the time Rosh Hashanah came around nine months later, in September 2022, Hamas appeared ready to attack, having settled on a plan to first attack military bases before later moving on to civilian residences, The Times said. But it would be another 13 months before it carried out its brutal plans.
The reason for the delay was never explicitly mentioned in the minutes obtained by The Times, but there were indications that it was related to the terror group’s efforts to enlist the help of Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah terror group.
Citing the minutes of a meeting held in August 2023, the report found that Sinwar’s deputy, Khalil al-Hayya, had traveled to Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... a month earlier and discussed the details of the planned attack with a senior member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammed Said Izadi.
During their meeting, al-Hayya told Izadi that Hamas would require its help striking Israeli targets during "the first hour" of the assault, coined the "Al-Aqsa Flood" by the terror group. According to the report, Izadi told al-Hayya that both Iran and Hezbollah welcomed the plan but stressed that they needed time "to prepare the environment."
While al-Hayya also intended to discuss the plan with now-dead Hezbollah leader His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The late, lamented satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...> , their meeting was postponed and it was unclear whether it ever took place.
Despite their apparent willingness to participate, Hamas ultimately proceeded without the direct assistance of Iran or Hezbollah — although the Lebanese terror group joined the fray with missile fire of its own just one day later, spiraling into the current war on that front.
Several reasons for Hamas’s willingness to launch the attack without its allies were offered by The Times, including that the terror group had been concerned that a new and much-touted Israeli air defense system was almost ready for deployment, and because Jerusalem and Riyadh had appeared to be moving closer to normalizing relations.
The terror group also told Hezbollah that it was "compelled to move toward a strategic battle" by Israel’s "internal situation" — apparently a reference to the domestic political unrest last year over the government’s judicial overhaul push.
From the time it started planning the attack until the date of its execution, Hamas focused on lulling Israel into a false sense of security by leading it to believe that it was focused on governing Gaza instead of seeking further conflict, a ploy widely deemed successful, as Israel was caught unaware and unprepared.
In a Hamas meeting in April 2022, there was relief among participants that the Moslem holy month of Ramadan had passed without incident, allowing the terror group to "camouflage the big idea." Similar sentiments were expressed in later meetings, including in June 2022 after the annual Jerusalem Day Flag March snaked through the capital’s Old City, and again at the end of Ramadan the following year.
Not willing to take any chances, the Hamas officials decided that only those who needed to know would know about their intentions. As such, The Times stated, the terror group’s leadership in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... was kept mostly in the dark, and only its since-assassinated political leader Ismail Haniyeh ...became Prime Minister of Gaza after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank... was informed of the covert meetings with Iranian and Hezbollah officials.
Inside Gaza, a similar decision was made regarding the terror group’s lower-ranking operatives. The minutes from the June 2022 meeting revealed that Sinwar had decided they would only learn of the full extent of the planned attack in the hours preceding it.
By the fall of 2023, having misled Israel for close to two years, Hamas once again appeared ready to attack. Only one major point of contention remained: whether to attack on Yom Kippur, which fell on September 25, or to wait until Simhat Torah, on October 7.
Eventually, on the morning of October 7, the terror group launched its deadly assault. Some 1,200 people were slaughtered across dozens of communities in southern Israel that day, and 251 were seized as hostages. Of that number, 97 captives are believed to still be in Gaza.
Sinwar reportedly requested hundreds of millions from Iran and training for 12,000 operatives, claiming it would enable them to destroy Israel within two years; documents revealed in Washington Post also outline multi-front attack scenarios
Hamas leaders had plans for large-scale assaults on Israel, including a 9/11-style attack on skyscrapers in Tel Aviv, even before launching their deadly incursion into Israeli border communities on October 7 of last year, The Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing both digital files and paper records recovered from Hamas command centers by IDF forces in Gaza.
The documents outline a broad attack strategy involving the use of railways, boats, and even chariots, according to the Washington Post report. However, terrorism experts noted that many of these plans were not practical.
The 59-page trove of documents also details a 2021 request from Hamas to Iran for $500 million in funding, along with training for 12,000 additional Hamas operatives.
LETTERS FROM SINWAR TO KHAMENEI AND QAANI
Documents from 2021 indicate that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar reached out to senior Iranian officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, seeking additional financial and military support.
In a letter, Sinwar claimed that with Iran's backing, Hamas could achieve the total destruction of Israel within two years. "We promise you that we will not waste a minute or a penny unless it takes us toward achieving this sacred goal," Sinwar wrote in June 2021.
While the letter did not provide details on how Hamas planned to destroy Israel, it was also addressed to Esmail Qaani, commander of Iran’s Quds Force, who has been out of the public eye for two weeks amid reports of his investigation over alleged ties to Israel and a subsequent heart attack.
Months before the October 2023 assault, Hamas had considered an even broader attack plan. A 36-page presentation, discovered at a Hamas outpost in northern Gaza on November 10, outlined potential scenarios for a multi-front assault on Israel, targeting military bases and civilian locations such as shopping malls.
The Arabic document, titled “Strategy to build an appropriate plan to Liberate Palestine,” contains dozens of maps, photographs and schematics showing Hamas movements and follow-up attack strategies across Israel.
A VAST DATABASE OF OVER 17,000 IMAGES
According to the presentation, Hamas' attack plans were based on a vast database of over 17,000 images, including satellite photos and drone-captured footage of Israeli cities. The database also featured imagery from social media, covering key military and civilian sites such as Israeli Air Force bases and diagrams of civilian flight paths to Ben Gurion Airport.
Hamas' so-called 'Strategy to build an appropriate plan to Liberate Palestine'
The presentation outlined three attack scenarios, with tactics for deceiving Israeli defenses. Some of the planned operations were "low-tech," similar to methods used in the October 7 attacks, while others were far more ambitious.
Last week, Israeli prosecutors charged several residents of the central Israeli town of Taibeh with plotting to attack the Azrieli Towers and bring about its collapse.
A more practical target, according to the documents, was Israel’s railway system. Hamas outlined various scenarios for using trains to transport fighters and powerful explosives. “The railway line is designated for transporting fuel, which is a weak point in the event of a train explosion after moving inside one of the cities (a moving bomb),” the document read.
EXPLOSIVE-LADEN BOATS
Other documents showed Hamas planned to modify vehicles to travel on rails and convert fishing vessels into fast-attack boats capable of carrying fighters and explosives to infiltrate Israeli ports. Regarding the boat-bombing plan, the documents state that Hamas had "found a working mechanism."
The report also highlighted Hamas' deception strategy, which emphasized maintaining silence, even during Ramadan, and instructed members not to join the fighting alongside Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The documents further revealed that Hamas aimed to launch its attack before Israel completed its laser weapon development and requested Iran to target sensitive sites with missile strikes during the first hour of the assault.

No for 10/7. On 10/8 Hezbollah started shooting rockets and missiles at northern Israel, not wanting to be left behind. That’s why upward of 60,000 Israelis have been living in hotel rooms since early October, unable to move back home because it isn’t safe.

[ColonelCassad] The goal of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in simple terms:
The US sought to connect the West and East of the world through this route. The traditional way of traveling in the world is the blue route in the photo, which goes through Yemen.
The new route goes through "India, Arab countries, Israel, Europe", which is marked in red and is called IMAC. The most important effect of the new route was that Israel would become the world's transportation gateway, in addition to economic profit, this route would make other countries dependent on Israel. Naturally, if Israel became the gateway to world trade, other countries would have to recognize it. And this meant strengthening the Israeli regime and weakening Palestine.
And the Palestinians had two choices, either submission and destruction forever, or an action that disrupts the plan, and the Palestinians courageously decided to stand and fight, as always.
As always, yes. The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, ‘tis said. Courageous is not the word I would have used, given the entirely predictable outcome of their decision.
This is how Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was conceived.
The strategic goal in this interpretation has already been achieved.
A bit early to judge, I think.
In fact, Iran, through its proxies, has thwarted the long-term plans of the US and Israel to reorganize the Middle East to their advantage. Everything that followed is the aftermath of the collapse of these plans.
In the end the landscape of Israel’s attackers will be riddled with pits filled with rubble, while Israel will be standing tall with a working economy and a working port. At that point all sorts of re-evaluations will be clearly necessary — and the Abraham Accord countries will be at the head of the line.
The most interesting thing is that these plans could have been realized if Israel had pursued a more flexible policy towards Palestine,
…Russia may think that is a minor bit of propaganda, but in truth those are Satan’s own words bearing the stench of Hell. Go fuck yourself with a rusty fencepost, Boris. Sideways.
but instead of economic growth, it is now reaping losses, population outflow, and growing isolation. It is worth noting that this was done primarily by Hamas. There are two ironic moments here. On the one hand, Hamas was created with the actual assistance of Israel to split the Palestinian cause. On the other hand, Hamas was hostile to Iran until the mid-2010s and sided with Assad's enemies during the Syrian war.
But underestimating Hamas's capabilities has already led Israel to failure in the 2021 war and the fall of the then Netanyahu cabinet.
And Iran in 2016-2017 was able to settle its conflicts with Hamas and make friends between Sunni Hamas and Shiite Hezbollah, drawing Hamas into its Axis of Resistance. This became possible thanks to the efforts of General Qassem Soleimani to expand the Axis of Resistance. And now, Soleimani has been dead for 4 years, but his cause lives on and wins.
It is also worth noting that Iran's support for the Houthis is also his doing. As are the agreements with Russia on its participation in the Syrian war. As is the creation of a huge Shiite militia integrated into the Iraqi state. And this strategy is now beating the American-Israeli plans to create transport corridors through Israel and normalize relations with part of the Arab world.
#1
The strategic significance of "Al-Aqsa Storm" is that majority o Israelis now understand that "peace" with "Palestinians" is impossible. Therefore, we are going to make peace without "Palestinians".
p.s. Both Russia and USA think that Iran is a mighty regional power, and compete for Iranian alliance. Actually, as Israel will soon demonstrate, they're a bunch of crotch scratching monkeys.
#2
non-Muslims are always trying to connect the dots in ways they comprehend
Because they don't themselves see the world through a massive religious brainwashed lens of Islam they cannot imagine that Islamists do the things they do because they believe in Islam.
This wasn't why Hamas planned October 7 for years.
They are obligated under the rules of Jihad to make violent war when possible against the unbelievers, especially against Jews and especially to take back any land previously colonised by Islam but lost.
The reason they made October 7 a savage orgy of sadism was specifically to provoke as brutal a response as possible from Israel, to tempt their military to drop their professionalism so they could get great propaganda out of it which they spread through the West through their Muslim Brotherhood embeds and Al Jazeera alumni in our media. And through the NGOs they control.
They are in Australia, UK, USA, France, Germany - everywhere.
So they can cut off diplomatic and economic support from Israel and get the Muslim world to fight against them.
So far their plan is working quite well. We've had weekly protests in Sydney and Melbourne ever since October 7. In support of Hamas. Yes.
And anti-semitism i've seen it everywhere, in front of my face, jews attacked in the streets. The police do nothing. The major political party the Greens only talk about "Palestinians". The politicians only refer to this ugly anti-semitism with "there can be no anti-semitism or Islamophobia" even though nobody has been harassing muslims - they are the ones doing the evil.
And I know this is going on in the UK you can see the evidence of it everywhere and in France - these places have SO MANY muslim migrants that the collective unconscious is all on their side.
So the goal of the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was NOT geopolitical
It was religious. All their actions are religious. They want to wipe out Israel because they think Islam should rule and Jews have no self-determination because of Islam.
It's really that simple.
This reminds me of all the people who tried to explain 9/11 by reference to Osama's complaint about american troops based in Saudi or the wars we fought in iraq etc.
All bs.
He only put those grievances in for religious reasons, namely because you are not allowed in Islam to conduct offensive Jihad without being ordered by a rightly-guided Caliph. The last caliphate was the Ottoman empire which ended after WWI. So there's no Caliphate and therefore no offensive Jihad.
So you're only allowed defensive Jihad - which means, Osama needed a list of complaints for a casus belli to make it a defensive jihad, in order to fulfill his islamic requirements.
Bin Laden orchestrated 9/11 to show the Islamic world the "strong horse" could hit america so they would all return to 6th century literal Islam.
He picked 9/11 because all Muslims know that's the date that Jan Sobieski broke the Muslim seige at the Gates of Vienna and marked the turning of the tide against Islam. He was showing them the tide has turned against us now.
And guess what? He was right. He gloried in it after saying this:
"I heard someone on Islamic radio who owns a school in America say: 'We don't have time to keep up with the demands of those who are asking about Islamic books to learn about Islam.' This event made people think about true Islam, which benefited Islam greatly."
Osama bin Laden, bragging of the 9/11 attacks during a video-taped November, 2001 meeting.
Western people try to offer geo-strategic reasons or economic reasons because for them religion is not that important. I could be a christian today but I might change to buddhism, or be an atheist doesn't matter it's all the same, a private matter.
Western people cannot comprehend the level of religiosity coming from Islam, it's an evil we defeated centuries ago.
If we ignore Islam in this way we are going to LOSE like 56 nations before us did, and our grandchildren will be suffering the horrible nightmare of Sharia maybe for the next 4000 years until it dies out and morphs into something else
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
[ColonelCassad] In the Kursk region.
There are good results in the area of:
1. Olgovka
2. Lyubimovka.
3. Novoivanovka
4. Malaya Loknya.
5. In the eastern part of the Sudzhansky district.
The published maps are now really lagging behind the events, but this is even good - there is no need to rush with victorious reports, people are working and will soon present good results.
Regarding the Olgovka area, there really is an unknown number of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers wandering in the forests there, who retreated from their positions, some are being caught or they remain there forever.
At the same time, it would be a mistake to say that the enemy is running and giving up positions everywhere. On the contrary, where it can, it resists and tries to bring in reinforcements, which is actively hindered by our drones, causing significant losses in people and equipment every day. At the same time, in a number of areas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not hesitate to launch counterattacks in order to try to hamper our active actions. So, there is no point in underestimating the enemy and pouring champagne in advance.
The trends are favorable for us now in the Kursk region, we act primarily with skill, but there is still a lot of work ahead.
The broadcast of military operations, as usual, is here https://t.me/boris_rozhin (if anyone is interested, subscribe)

Aleksandro-Kalinovskoe direction: urban fighting in Dzerzhinsk and stabilization of the flanks of the Russian group
- In the Aleksandro-Kalinovsky direction, Russian troops are conducting fierce battles in the urban development of Dzerzhinsk. At the same time, in the area of Leonidovka and Dachnoye, the RF Armed Forces are consolidating their positions.
– After liberating most of Druzhba and Kirovo, units of the Russian Armed Forces are attacking along the Dachnoye-Dyleevka line. Ukrainian formations are currently holding positions in forest areas and forest belts on the approaches to populated areas and are constructing new ones along the railway line.
– In Dzerzhinsk, assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces are gradually advancing along the streets in the north of the city. In the area of ??the Central City Hospital named after Lenin, Russian troops drove the enemy out of buildings on Pushkarenko, Dogaev and Kemerovskaya streets, reaching Shchorsa street.
- In a few days, they also managed to establish control over the traffic police department on the approaches to the Dzerzhinsky mine. To the north, the Russian Armed Forces expanded the control zone along Mayakovsky Street and started fighting in the area of kindergarten No. 8.
– Despite statements by individual sources, it is too early to talk about the liberation of the facility’s territory. The specifics of urban combat complicate the establishment of the exact configuration of the front due to the “layering” of the positions of the Russian and Ukrainian Armed Forces.
– It is quite common for assault groups from both sides to be present on different floors of a single building, sometimes not even knowing about the enemy’s close location. In such a situation, each entrance can be a strong point, the detection of which is difficult in a dynamically changing situation.
– In the southern part of the city, the Russian Armed Forces advanced along one side of Sverdlov Avenue and reached Blagovatnaya Street. Thus, both “pincers” of the semi-encirclement reached the approaches to the Dzerzhinsky mine, the establishment of control over which will allow the encirclement of parts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the urban development to the southeast.
– In turn, the enemy is using drones of various types, trying to prevent the concentration of Russian Armed Forces personnel in this area to storm the mine territory.
– To the east of Sverdlov Avenue there is currently a vast “gray zone”. Russian attack aircraft are conducting fierce battles here and the current zones of control of the parties may differ greatly from the latest data received due to the dynamic change in the situation.
– The situation at the Leonidovka-Shcherbinovka line is currently hidden by the "fog of war". After reports of the Russian Armed Forces' offensive in this area at the end of September, an information "lull" has set in. The lack of objective control personnel does not allow us to clarify the configuration of the front at the line.

13:31 Kurakhovskoye direction.
After Ostrovsky's release we are developing offensive and we are demining the territories.
The liberation of the village itself was carried out by forces of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division, the fighters rolled on armored vehicles to the center of the village, where the infantry dismounted to storm the remaining part of the settlement. The advance was 1.2 km to the northern part of Kurakhovo.

– Donetsk Front. Russian troops continue to advance north of Ugledar. The settlement of Ostrovskoe has been liberated. - Chasovoyarsk direction. There are no significant changes here. Russian troops continue to improve their positions and, if possible, expand their zone of control on the flanks.
- Kursk region. Counter battles continue in the Sudzhansky district. Russian troops are methodically driving the Ukrainian Armed Forces from their positions, but are not trying to conduct frontal attacks along the front. There are tactical successes in the Glushkovsky district, where, according to some reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been practically driven out of the territory of the Kursk region. However, there remains the possibility that, in anticipation of the rains, Ukrainian troops are retreating to more advantageous positions.

[REGNUM] On October 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the forum “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations — the Basis of Peace and Development,” held in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat. The first and second persons of Central Asian countries, as well as Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Armenia, and Mongolia gathered there.
The forum was held as part of the program to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fragi - an event that would seem to be far removed from big politics. But the leaders of the states came because in this case the interests of both the hosts of the event, the authorities of Turkmenistan headed by the young president Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the distinguished guests coincided.
The owners need international contacts.
"In many ways, this forum, like other events held by the Turkmen side, is aimed at maintaining the appearance of international activity of Turkmenistan. Having declared "complete neutrality" at the dawn of its formation, the country itself placed itself in isolation. However, in modern conditions, it is forced to build relations with other states - after all, it turns out that Turkmenistan cannot solve its internal and external problems on its own," Nikita Mendkovich, head of the Eurasian Analytical Club, explains to Regnum News Agency.
In particular, the country needs Russia's support to protect its borders with Afghanistan, the expert notes. In addition, it needs to deepen economic contacts with its Central Asian neighbors and participate in international infrastructure projects in the Caspian Sea, including in the North-South corridor.
The guests needed a platform where they could meet to discuss issues related to security and economics in the Central Asian, Caspian and even Middle Eastern regions in bilateral and multilateral formats. There were many topics for discussion.
“Moscow took advantage of this event to conduct a number of working contacts,” continues Nikita Mendkovich.
Vladimir Putin met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari – as one can assume, the parties discussed issues related to possible Russian recognition of the Taliban (the organization is under UN sanctions for terrorist activity, and is also recognized as terrorist in Russia) as the legitimate authorities of Afghanistan.
In addition, the Russian president spoke with the speaker of the Turkish parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş. The official Kremlin website reports that the upcoming visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the BRICS summit in Kazan was discussed. According to Nikita Mendkovich, the discussion could also have been about Syrian affairs – a possible meeting between Erdoğan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
However, experts call Putin's most important bilateral meeting in Turkmenistan his talks with the new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The leaders of the two countries met for the first time - and immediately to discuss the most important issues.
"The conversation primarily focused on the upcoming signing of a comprehensive strategic agreement - it is to take place in Kazan, during the October BRICS summit. Officially, they have been working on this document for more than two years, and according to my information, more than five," international political scientist and RIAC expert Elena Suponina told Regnum.
According to her, the parties reached the finish line in September of this year. Now it is extremely important to determine what will be written in the points of the agreement devoted to mutual assistance in the event of military threats.
“Will these be formulations similar to those in the Russian-North Korean agreements (where the parties committed to providing assistance in the event of aggression), or will the parties agree on a softer option?” Suponina explains.
According to a number of experts, a softer option is preferable for Russia. Moscow can defend its territory independently, and there is no point in taking on obligations to protect Iran from aggression. Moreover, it does not matter whether it is aggression from the US and Israel (that is, drawing Russia into a nuclear war), or from Arab states - with which Moscow has no conflicts. And in general, the time of military alliances with strict obligations is becoming a thing of the past, giving way to more flexible formats of relations.
The Iranians certainly understand this. Tehran's minimum goal is to receive at least significant military-technical assistance from Russia in the event of a conflict with the US, which Israel is pushing it into.
“We could be talking about air defense systems and fighter jets,” suggests Elena Suponina.
That is, to neutralize the air superiority of the US and Israel - the Iranians, given their capabilities, will cope with the ground component of the war on their own. If the ground component happens at all - of course, it would be nice if it did not happen. In the diplomatic arena, Russia calls on everyone to resolve issues peacefully.
"Moscow has always been against any strikes on Iran, considering this a prologue to a possible major war in the region. It has always criticized Israel and the United States for dangerous actions of this kind and their intentions to continue them. And by signing an important agreement with Iran, the Kremlin makes it clear that it will not leave this country alone. Just as the Chinese will not leave it alone," says the interlocutor of the Regnum news agency, hinting at the close economic and military-political ties between Beijing and Tehran.
Accordingly, the Iranians are making it clear to the Americans through a series of international negotiations that a military operation would cost them too much. At the same time, it seemed that Pezeshkian would not hold such demonstration meetings: after his recent election victory, rumors were spreading that he was liberal-minded and was looking for negotiations with the West, and that deepening cooperation with Russia was not in his plans. But in reality, things are different.
"Some of the rumors about Masoud Pezeshkian are inspired by Western news agencies and intelligence services. They are trying to attribute more liberal positions to the Iranian president than those he actually holds. Pezeshkian is an absolutely systemic politician, he obeys the general rules of the game and the will of the spiritual leader of the country, Ali Khamenei," Elena Suponina is sure.
And Ali Khamenei is well aware of the benefits and advantages not only of expanding, but also of deepening cooperation with Moscow.

is this the reason why we are escalating with Iran while doing NOTHING to Qatar?
I don't have any problem with Vladimir Putin. Russia is it's own country free to have whoever they want in power, and I think he was justified in sending the military in to Ukraine given they were killing the Russian speakers in the eastern breakaway provinces - especially as it was Russian territory for all of history until Kruschev.
so i don't see why we keep picking fights with russia. I like russia. Russia produced Tchaikovsky and Faberge eggs. They are civilised and have an ancient culture.
Leave them alone, the cold war was over when the wall came down. We should be supporting our christian orthodox brothers in the east against Islam which is the enemy of all.

hello TW just read your very informative and excellent reply from yesterday
Interesting that some Bin Laden relatives fled to Iran. Are you sure about that? Bin Laden was in Pakistan when they jugged him
Pakistan: another country we aren't doing anything about.
Yes, I think the Saudis do want war with Iran but don't want to fight themselves, they want the US to do it for them.
It's easy to do, manipulate the leadership and then they order the military.
It's what Iran did by planting the "WMD" lie to get us to fight Saddam. They were involved in that psyop. I was shocked when I found out Iran had been involved in that trickery because I had believed the WMD line.
Saudi wants to fight Iran as the power centre of their religious Shia religious rival. They are fighting the shia in Yemen over the border right now. They are already in effect fighting "Iran" as they are Sunnis fighting Shia.
They just want to manipulate us into doing it for them. And they love that Israel gets ground up in the middle, because they want it wiped off the map as much as the Hamas does, because of Islam. Even when they pay lip service and sign off on recognising Israel, they want it gone.
Even if Iran is the problem and is whipping up all the trouble - and I'm quite prepared to believe this is so, they are a horrible theocracy, then still we should be attacking Qatar over October 7
What bugs me is the using of October 7 to change the target.
Even if Iran is a general problem in other ways, it was Muslim Brotherhood that did October 7, including Qatar so we have to get rid of THEM

Some believed Saddam's WMD materials may have migrated to Syria just prior to the Gulf War. Perhaps the President of Iran is looking for a WMD sancturary as well.

Russia is at heart an uncivilized nation and an oriental despotism. To state that. "They are civilised and have an ancient culture," is to deny what Peter the Great accomplished in creating a veneer of civilization in the land of mazjiks.

hello TW just read your very informative and excellent reply from yesterday
I’m always glad to be useful, returning a small part of what I’ve learnt here.
Interesting that some Bin Laden relatives fled to Iran. Are you sure about that? Bin Laden was in Pakistan when they jugged him
Osama Bin Laden, a couple of wives and a few of his 25 children were found in Abbottabad, Pakistan, yes. But I am positive that many of his wives and children went to Iran. We have records all through the Rantburg archives. Responding to a posted article back in 2020, I summarized it all here, which should give you a starting point for your own searches. There is a Search Rantburg box above the list of most recent commenters on each of Rantburg’s main pages — go and learn, my dear.
Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.
[Korrespondent] 21:18 Russians have become more active on the Kinburn Spit, said Vladislav Voloshin, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces. According to him, the situation there is currently quite tense: last week, Russian troops transferred a division of boats from Sevastopol, which will be used to control this territory.
20:54 Zelensky said in an evening video address that in the Kursk region "there were attempts by Russia to push back our positions, but we are holding certain lines." The President said that he had heard Syrsky's report on all frontlines: "The Pokrovsk direction is great. Every soldier, every sergeant, every officer who ensures the protection of our positions. In general, the Donetsk region and the Zaporizhzhya direction are very difficult conditions, tough actions by the enemy. But the resilience of our units is of decisive importance."
The president also noted that the Ukrainian industrial base "is capable of producing many more drones, shells, and military equipment than our state's financial capabilities allow." According to him, this week "we have added new agreements on weapons to Ukraine, and these are not only supplies, but also production. Every foreign visit is always a conversation about investments in Ukrainian industry."
19:21 The Norwegian Ministry of Defence has created the position of a defence attaché in Kyiv, who will be "responsible for communication and cooperation between Norwegian and Ukrainian scientists and industry in the field of defence innovation and industrial development", the country's Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram said. According to him, "Norwegian companies want to share knowledge, experience and solutions in both the short and long term - this is also what the Ukrainian side is asking for".
13:17 In Zaporizhia, the number of victims as a result of today's night attack has increased to four, reported the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov. Three districts were damaged by the shelling - Shevchenkivskyi, Aleksandrovskyi and Voznesenovskyi. 26 private and three apartment buildings were damaged.
12:33 India has become the second largest supplier of banned technologies to Russia, Bloomberg writes. According to the publication's sources among Western officials, Indian exports of restricted goods such as microchips, circuits and machine tools exceeded $60 million in April and May, which is about twice as much as in previous months of this year, and rose to $95 million in July. Thus, almost a fifth of sensitive technologies entering the Russian military-industrial complex come through India. However, China remains the number one supplier of technologies to Russia.
10:16 The General Staff confirmed that the Defense Forces struck a fuel and lubricants depot near the town of Rovenky in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast at night. A fire broke out on the territory of the oil depot, the results of the attack are being clarified.
10:07 Air defense destroyed 24 out of 28 attack UAVs in Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions at night, the Air Force reported. Two more enemy drones were lost due to electronic warfare countermeasures. In addition, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles of an unspecified type at night.
09:55 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that several thousand soldiers from North Korea have already arrived in Russia. According to analysts, some of them are undergoing training in Russia for the expected joint deployment, which is planned for the end of the year. Another number of officers from the DPRK are studying the situation on the battlefield.
According to ISW experts, the deployment of North Korean troops in Ukraine could create opportunities for the Kremlin to release its own reserves, depending on their quality, structure and interoperability. Analysts predict that the DPRK troops could be sent to Ukraine or deployed along the Russian border, which would help Russia delay the end of the offensive operation "Summer 2024".
09:42 Russian troops attacked the Central District of Kherson the day before. Warehouses were hit, and a large-scale fire broke out at the site of the attack. Due to constant repeated attacks, rescuers had to retreat to a safe place several times and return to extinguish the fire. At present, the fire has been completely extinguished, no information about casualties has been received, said the head of the OVA Oleksandr Prokudin. Over the previous day, four people were wounded as a result of Russian shelling in the region.
09:29 A Ukrainian drone attacked an oil depot in the occupied Rovenki of the Luhansk region, the fuel tank caught fire, there were no casualties, local "authorities" reported. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire was extinguished. The Russian Defense Ministry said that 47 drones were destroyed and intercepted overnight: 17 over the territory of the Krasnodar Territory, 16 over the waters of the Sea of Azov, 12 over the territory of the Kursk region, two over the Belgorod region.
Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that residential buildings were damaged as a result of the UAV attack. A powerful explosion was also heard in Kurchatov in the Kursk Region, where a nuclear power plant is located. Local publics write that the explosion occurred shortly after the alarm was raised due to the danger of UAVs.
09:13 During the day on October 11, Russians shelled Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region several times - one person was killed and five were injured, said OVA head Oleg Sinegubov. Another person was killed and two were injured in the village of Kazachya Lopan in the Kharkiv region. There was also one injured in each of the Kupyansk-Uzlovaya and Sheykovka villages in the Izyum region.
08:51 Three people were killed in Donetsk Oblast as a result of Russian shelling on October 11: two in Bogoyavlenka and one in Ivanopol. Another eight people in the region were injured in the past 24 hours, said OVA head Vadim Filashkin.
08:24 Late in the evening of October 11, Russians launched a missile attack on a residential area in Sumy, wounding one person, the OVA reported. Another person was wounded the day before as a result of artillery shelling in the Esman community.
07:48 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of October 12:
personnel - about 667,630 (+1290) people,
tanks - 8962 (+9),
combat armored vehicles - 17,827 (+27),

ships/boats - 28 (+0),
submarines - 1 (+0),
automotive equipment and tank trucks - 26,513 (+115),
special equipment - 3434 (+38).
07:25 At night, the enemy attacked Zaporizhia, struck private homes and the production facilities of one of the enterprises. Three people were wounded, including an 11-year-old child, said the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

[Garowe] Æthiopian troops in Somalia's Bakool region came under attack from al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... Death Eaters late Friday, triggering a fierce counter-offensive in the Wajid district, according to local sources. The initial assault on the Æthiopian military base prompted a heavy retaliation with both sides engaging in intense combat.
Witnesses reported continuous sounds of explosions and gunfire, suggesting a significant escalation in the area. In response to the ambush, Æthiopian forces launched a series of mortar attacks targeting al-Shabaab strongholds within and around Wajid.
Details on the human toll from the confrontation remain sparse, with neither the Æthiopian military nor local authorities issuing an official toll of casualties or damage. The lack of official information has fueled concerns among residents.
On Saturday, Æthiopian troops intensified their presence in Wajid, conducting sweeping operations aimed at securing the area amid fears of further attacks by al-Shabaab holy warriors. This escalation reflects Æthiopia's ongoing military support to Somalia in its fight against Islamist krazed killers.
Wajid saw large pro-Æthiopia protests last month after the Somali government announced the decision to kick Æthiopian troops out of the country in December 2024 due to Addis Ababa's sea access MoU with Somaliland ...Republic of Somaliland is an unrecognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, recognised internationally as a de jure part of Somalia. It is located in the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden with approximately 5.7 million residents as of 2021. The capital and largest city is Hargeisa. The government regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland, which united from 1960 to 1991 with the Trust Territory of Somaliland (the former Italian Somaliland) to form the Somali Republic. Under the Siad Barre regime, Somaliadestroyed ninety percent of Hargeisa Per international law, once you're in, you gotta stay in, no matter how bad it smells.... . Locals say the ENDF is a close ally and wants to stay in the Bakool region.
Al-Shabaab, an krazed killer group with a strong foothold in Somalia, declared through a short message that they had successfully attacked Æthiopian forces, causing casualties and seizing military equipment. The statement, however, was vague about specifics.
Ooooohhhh, slap!
The attack in Wajid illustrates the enduring security issues in Somalia, a country plagued by instability where al-Shabaab presents a persistent challenge to peace and stability. This incident marks another chapter in the ongoing saga of confrontations that underscore the fragility of security in the Bakool region.
[Jpost] The group posted pictures and videos to their Instagram in which they can be seen taking over the office of Professor Steven Prawer, and staging a sit-in.
Masked pro-Paleostine protesters wearing keffiyehs took over the office of Steven Prawer, a Jewish professor at the University of Melbourne (UMelb), Australia, on Wednesday, in an alleged protest over his academic connection to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The group, University of Melbourne for Paleostine, posted multiple pictures and videos to their Instagram in which they can be seen invading the professor’s office and staging a sit-in. They can also be seen chanting and covering the door of his office in pro-Paleostine stickers and signs.
One sticker said "antisemitism is a crime, anti-Zionism is a duty," and the two signs read "Steven Prawer, your work will break your soul before it breaks the resistance" and "From the river to the sea, Paleostine will be free."
The group said that they discovered pro-Israel memorabilia in Prawer’s office, including a picture of a sticker for Tel Aviv University with the world Shalom [peace] on it.
In another video, a woman wearing a keffiyeh and a mask interrogates Prawer as he talks to the police outside the office. When he attempts to walk away, the woman follows him and continues to ask questions about Israel’s genocide of the Paleostinian people.
Prawer, an engineering professor and head of the UMelb Materials Institute, is the academic lead of the Jerusalem-Melbourne Joint PhD program.
This, according to the protesters, was the reason for their actions. In a poster stuck on the wall of Prawer’s office, the group wrote, "Prawer spearheads a number of research projects in collaboration with Israeli research institutes, academics, and universities, such as a recent project with the Israeli Center of Advanced Diamond Technology."
The protest was allegedly part of the group’s efforts to make the University cut its academic ties with Israeli universities, as seen in another poster.
"It is imperative that the University of Melbourne acknowledge and utilize its privilege as a settler entity to support colonized peoples and end their complicity in the Israeli colonial project and ongoing genocide of Paleostinians," the group stated.

Muslim Brotherhood in Melbourne at Islamic Council of Victoria
Australia's most beloved TV muslim Waleed Aly on ICV board for years. He stars on The Project, ch10. He is Muslim Brotherhood aligned, propagandises their narrative, runs cover after Islamist attacks,
Waleed’s wife Susan Carland works with Mariam Veiszadeh at Islamophobia Register Australia running Muslim Brotherhood propaganda through academic reports counting self-reported stories told to their facebook page (full of lies) that they get their friends to “peer review”
These reports are used to lobby parliament and media for favourable coverage of muslims
They make Islamophobia the topic of public media discourse after every jihad attack so that islam wins as it shifts blame the from the islamist perpetrator to the victim society.
This is muslim brotherhood tactic popularised by Tariq Ramadan
On the board of IRA is the CEO of PsychCentral, a chain of psychology clinics started by Hanan Dover, an Islamist who wants the sharia and runs cover for jihadis after they shoot people by saying they are just mentally ill - like numan haider
She is so bad the AFP (federal police) blocked her from access to one jihadi teen on the grounds that she is not neutral
That is Islamophobia Register Australia
That is in Melbourne and Sydney
The Islamic Council of Victoria is so well connected with media these students know they will be praised for their actions instead of vilified as Hamas supporting racists
Now you see why i am bleating on about the Muslim Brotherhood??
Do you see what is happening here?? Only these aholes get their voice in the media and Islam is redacted from the conversation because of their persistent and funded and structured lobbying for 20 years

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found the drugs while clearing off Highway 231 near Washington State Prison in Davisboro, Georgia.
Authorities said they found marijuana, prescription medication and THC-infused candy. "If you would like to claim ownership of these packages, please come see us."
[IsraelTimes] Satellites are reportedly for agriculture, environmental monitoring, disaster management and communications; US has warned in past they could be used to identify targets in Israel
Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... has sent two locally made satellites to Russia to be put into orbit by a Russian space vehicle, the semi-official news agency Tasnim reported on Saturday, in the latest space cooperation between the two US-sanctioned countries.
The development of Kowsar, a high-resolution imaging satellite, and Hodhod, a small communications satellite, is the first substantial effort by Iran’s private space sector, the report said.
Russia sent Iranian satellites into orbit in February and in 2022, when US officials voiced concern over space cooperation between Russia and Iran, fearing the satellite would not only help Russia in Ukraine but also help Iran monitor potential targets in Israel and the wider Middle East.
Kowsar could be used in agriculture, natural resource management, environmental monitoring, and disaster management, Tasnim said. Hodhod is designed for satellite-based communications and could be used in remote areas with little access to terrestrial networks.
In September, Iran carried out its second satellite launch this year using a rocket built by its Revolutionary Guards. The launch came as the United States and European countries accused Tehran of transferring ballistic missiles to Russia that could be used in its war with Ukraine. Iran has denied this.
In January, Iran said it simultaneously launched three satellites into orbit, nearly a week after the launch of a research satellite by its Revolutionary Guards.
Western governments including the United States have repeatedly warned Iran against such launches, saying the same technology can be used for ballistic missiles, including ones designed to deliver a nuclear warhead.
Iran has countered that it is not seeking nuclear weapons and that its satellite and rocket launches are for civil or defense purposes only.
The US has previously said Iran’s satellite launches defy a UN Security Council resolution and called on Tehran to undertake no activity involving ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons.
The US intelligence community’s 2023 worldwide threat assessment said in January that the development of satellite launch vehicles "shortens the timeline" for Iran to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile because it uses similar technology.
Intercontinental ballistic missiles can be used to deliver nuclear weapons. Iran’s nuclear program has enriched uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade levels after the collapse of its nuclear deal with world powers.
Tehran has enough enriched uranium for "several" nuclear weapons, if it chooses to produce them, the head of the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency repeatedly has warned.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... met Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday at a time when Tehran is supplying weapons for Moscow’s war in Ukraine and concerns are growing over escalating attacks between Israel and Iran and its terror allies. The US and UK are also reportedly concerned that Russia has been helping Iran develop its nuclear weapons program.

I think you load this one shell at a time. Also, seems to me you should be pointing it down while loading. Finally, I think it is best to not talk while loading so you can concentrate on loading.

Nothing about that is right. At all. I'm surprised he didn't manage a discharge holding the shotgun upright, using his booger hook on the bang guard to make that position.
Out here, when doing trap, we don't load until it is our turn, and we would be expected to competently load in a reasonable amount of time. This is like that asshole your threesome gets put with at the golf course who takes 8 practice swings every time and then duffs the shot.

[IsraelTimes] Drone strikes retirement home in coastal town, no injuries; IDF orders more south Lebanon villages evacuated, faces rising world criticism for hitting UN position amid fighting
Hezbollah continued to launch rockets and drones into Israel throughout Yom Kippur over the weekend, with a Herzliya retirement home hit by a UAV on Friday, causing damage but no casualties.
At the same time, Israeli forces continued their operations in southern Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , ordering more villages evacuated as they worked to root out and destroy Hezbollah infrastructure.
Dozens of rockets were launched at Israel on Friday and Saturday, activating sirens in Haifa, Safed and numerous northern towns.
On Friday evening sirens sounded in Herzliya and a retirement home was hit in a drone attack from Lebanon. There were no injuries.
The military said two drones were tracked from the moment they crossed the border, and fighter jets managed to down one of them. It did not explain why the second drone was not downed en route, and stated only that it was "investigating the incident." Footage posted to social media showed a drone flying low over buildings in the city.
Rocket attacks targeting northern Israel continued into Saturday, with no reports of damage or casualties.
Meanwhile on Saturday, the Israeli military ordered residents of 22 more southern Lebanese villages to evacuate to areas north of the Awali River, according to a statement. It also warned residents of south Lebanon "not to return" to their homes as troops fight Hezbollah in the area.
Israeli forces continue to "target Hezbollah posts in or near your villages," the military’s Arabic front man Avichay Adraee said on X. "For your own protection, do not return to your homes until further notice. Do not go south; anyone who goes south may put his life at risk."
In a separate post, Adraee reiterated an earlier call for health workers and medical teams in southern Lebanon to avoid using ambulances, saying they are being used by Hezbollah fighters.
"We call on medical teams to avoid contact with Hezbollah members and not to cooperate with them," he said. "The IDF affirms that the necessary actions will be taken against any vehicle transporting armed individuals, regardless of its type."
Israel also continued to face criticism over the weekend for an attack that hit UN peacekeeping positions in south Lebanon. The IDF has said its forces fired at a threat near a UNIFIL position and acknowledged that a "hit" was responsible for wounding two people. It said "soldiers operating in southern Lebanon identified an immediate threat against them. The soldiers responded with fire toward the threat." An initial probe indicated that during the incident, a UNIFIL post located approximately 50 meters (yards) from the source of the threat was hit.
US President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. This Is A Man That Does Not Seem Demented... said Israel "absolutely, positively" must stop firing at UN positions. US special envoy to Lebanon Amos Hochstein told Lebanese media Friday that the incident was "unacceptable." La Belle France, Italia and Spain also condemned the injuries and said such incidents were "unjustifiable" and should "immediately come to an end."
As Israel continued to press its campaign against Hezbollah, the terror group said Friday its priority was "to defeat the enemy and force them to stop the aggression" but that it was open to any efforts to stop "the aggression."
"Tel Aviv is only the start, Israel has only seen so little," the head of the terror group’s media office Mohammad Afif said.
Hochstein said Friday that the US was working "non-stop" toward a ceasefire in Lebanon. As Israel continues to target Hezbollah leadership and weapons stockpiles in Beirut, Hochstein said bombing in Beirut "needs to stop."
"We don’t like this campaign of bombings in densely populated Beirut," Hochstein said.
Israel’s bombing campaign in Beirut in recent weeks has eliminated the majority of Hezbollah’s leadership. Observers have noted that secondary explosions following many strikes on targets in the city appeared to confirm they were loaded with weaponry.
The Hezbollah front man, Afif, denied that there were weapons stored in Beirut’s southern suburbs. He also claimed the massive secondary explosions were caused by Israeli-timed bombs to make it seem so. He promised residents of the neighborhood and those displaced from southern Lebanon and Bekaa that they would return soon.
Friday saw a 27-year-old foreign worker from Thailand killed and another worker was maimed when unwent kaboom! ordnance blew up in an orchard by the northern community of Kibbutz Yir’on in the Upper Galilee. Security officials were still investigating but said they believed the cause was a munition previously fired by Hezbollah. It was not clear whether the blast was caused by one of the victims handling or interacting with the weaponry in some way.
In Lebanon, Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s continued to target Hezbollah commanders, rocket launchers and other terror targets.
The IDF sent another brigade into southern Lebanon on Friday amid ground operations near the border, and said in a statement that the unit had already destroyed Hezbollah tunnels, defensive positions and other enemy infrastructure.
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli military says that Hezbollah fired about 320 projectiles from Lebanon into Israel over Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day which ended at nightfall.
“Throughout the weekend of Yom Kippur, approximately 320 projectiles that were fired by the Hezbollah terrorist organization crossed from Lebanon into Israel,” the military says in a statement.
[IsraelTimes] Two hospitals in the Bekaa Valley, a stronghold area of Hezbollah, sustained damage from Israeli strikes today, the hospitals say. There were no casualties, they add.
The Israeli military said today that Hezbollah was using ambulances to transport fighters and weapons and that it would take any necessary action.
[FoxNews] The former students were allegedly taking pictures of military vehicles and other equipment
Five former University of Michigan students have been charged after they were caught allegedly covering up spying on a National Guard training center in Michigan for the People's Republic of China (PRC) while a training operation with the Taiwanese military was taking place.
The former students, all Chinese nationals, were confronted by a sergeant major of the Utah National Guard in August 2023 after midnight near a lake at Camp Grayling, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court Oct. 1.
They told the sergeant major they were with the media photographing a meteor shower and believed they were in a campground. They then took their belongings and left.
But four months later, one of the men, Renxiang Guan, was interviewed by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport before traveling to South Korea and China.
He told investigators he and others had taken a trip to northern Michigan to see shooting stars, but he was unable to recall where they went.
CBP officers then searched his electronic devices and found images of the Grayling Military Installation, including military vehicles and other equipment. The data from an external hard drive showed the photographs had been taken during the time that live firing exercises were taking place, around two hours before the sergeant major encountered the students.
The other four men were interviewed in March after arriving in Chicago on a flight from Iceland. They told investigators they too were in northern Michigan in August 2023, but it was to see a meteor shower, according to court documents citing the FBI.
WeChat messages in a group chat among the Chinese nationals discussed clearing photos from their cameras and phones.
They have been charged with giving false statements to investigators, conspiracy and the destruction and falsification of records as they tried to cover their tracks by deleting data.
The Chinese nationals remain at large and are understood to have returned to China, according to local reports.
That’s the piece we previously lacked.
The other four individuals are named as Zhekai Xu, Haoming Zhu, Jingzhe Tao and Yi Liang.
The students attended the university as part of a joint program with Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. They graduated in May, according to the complaint.
Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Mich., says the case exposes the serious threat the nation faces from Chinese spies.

"This is a city of students, which is why housing prices are very high," Zawiteyi said, adding that one of the most important issues she intends to work on is housing for low-income families and persons with special needs.
CD&V, a Phlegmish party based on Christian values, advocates for the importance of family, welfare, health, and equal income. The party has three ministers in the Belgian government and three in the Phlegmish government.
Rashidova is a 56-year-old woman of Kurdish descent. She has worked as an interpreter and chairs an association that promotes Kurdish-European cooperation.
"I have been working in the municipalities for the past 15 years, with much experience in law and working in the municipalities. If elected, I can work on issues that matter to the residents of Asse," Rashidova told Rudaw.
Rashidova is running on Team Burgemeester, an "alliance between our party, Christian Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... , and the Social Democrats. Our list is number nine, and we have 33 candidates. I am candidate number 15," she said.
The elections will be held on Sunday. Belgians will vote to elect local councils for 19 municipalities.
[Garowe] An investigation into the tragic drowning of two Navy SEALs off the coast of Somalia has concluded that the incident was preventable, citing inadequate training and unclear guidance on flotation equipment. Chief Special Warfare Operator Christopher Chambers and Naval Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Nathan Ingram bit the dust during a nighttime maritime intercept operation aimed at a vessel suspected of carrying Iranian weapons to Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... The incident occurred when Chambers fell into heavy seas while attempting to board the ship, followed by Ingram, who jumped in to assist. Both SEALs, burdened by mission gear, submerged within seconds. The investigation, led by the Naval Special Warfare Command, highlighted a lack of specific buoyancy requirements and inadequate training with emergency flotation devices as key contributing factors.
A SEAL chief didn’t know this stuff??
Gen. Michael "Erik" Kurilla, the commander of U.S. Central Command, emphasized in his review that systemic issues within the training and operational guidelines were at fault. Despite successful daytime operations before the tragic night, the rushed planning and execution of the nighttime intercept under challenging sea conditions were deemed critical errors.
The SEALs involved had conducted buoyancy tests before deployment but not after boarding their ship, the USS Lewis B. Puller, which set sail in December 2023. Confusion over whether to maintain "positive" or "neutral" buoyancy during missions, as well as the lack of standardized use of the Tactical Flotation Support System, was noted in the report.
Following the incident, an extensive search and rescue operation spanned 48,600 square miles over 10 days. Still, it failed to recover the bodies of Chambers and Ingram, posthumously promoted for their service.
Recommendations from the investigation include formalizing buoyancy standards, reevaluating the necessity for fail-safe flotation devices, and enhancing the training regimen for lifesaving equipment on board Navy vessels. The report underscores the need for these measures to prevent future tragedies among the elite forces operating in high-risk environments.

Flotation device training was probably bumped so they could cram more LGBTQ+ training. Or what we called "Watermelon school" when I was in the Navy.

Gee, back in my old days, just to compete for going to Ranger school, involved jumping into a pool with full patrol equipment and weapons and then clearing yourself of them and get back to the surface.

Our martyrs’: Chicago college students rally for ‘Gaza’
[CollegeFix] Pro-Palestinian activists plan to host events throughout the week at Chicago universities, with at least two specifically meant to “honor” the “martyrs” of the war on Israel.
Students for Justice in Palestine will host a “vigil” on Oct. 9 at Loyola University Chicago to “honor our martyrs.”
Students for a Democratic Society at DePaul University will host a rally on Thursday, according to an Instagram post.
A walkout and rally are also planned for this afternoon at the University of Illinois Chicago. “Join us for a powerful day of rallying, learning, and community building,” the campus SJP wrote, describing its “For Gaza We Rise” event.
Anti-Israel activists vandalize homes of UMich leadership, orgs with Israeli ties to mark Oct. 7 anniversary
[CampusReform] ‘To mark one year of genocide against the Palestinian people, an autonomous group visited the homes of two University of Michigan leaders, President Santa Ono and Chief Investment Officer Erik Lundberg,’ the tip said. ‘They also decorated the offices of the Jewish Federation of Detroit and the Michigan Israel Business Accelerator, organizations that are deeply entrenched in the apartheid state,’ it continued.
Columbia's Student Protesters Really Have Embraced Hamas
[HotAir] Hamas' goal is to kill Jews, civilian or otherwise, and drive them from the land. This is what "from the river to the sea" has always meant. Now the group which ran the Columbia protests and inspired similar protests around the country is flat out saying they support the same thing.
The increasingly revolutionary tilt of the student movement reflects an internal push among many pro-Palestinian groups to align their goals with principles known as the Thawabet, crafted by the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1977. They include the right of Palestinians to armed resistance and to self-determination on all the land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
Harvard: Windows Smashed, John Harvard Statue Vandalized in Act of ‘Palestinian Resistance’
[TheCrimson] An individual smashed the ground-floor windows to University Hall and covered the John Harvard statue in red paint as an “act of solidarity with the Palestinian resistance,” according to a video posted on social media. The perpetrator of the anonymous act of vandalism appeared to film themselves using a blunt object to break the windows of University Hall, which houses the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The video was published on Instagram by “Unity of Fields,” an account that does not appear to have any affiliation with Harvard. The account, which describes itself as an “anti-imperialist propaganda front bringing the war home,” wrote that the video of the vandalism at Harvard came from an “anonymous submission.”
The vandalism comes amid rising tensions on Harvard’s campus around the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks on Israel. In a statement Monday night, the Harvard Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee called on student activists to ramp up their protest activities. Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine, an unrecognized pro-Palestine group that organized the encampment in Harvard Yard last semester, denied involvement with the act of vandalism.
Unity of Fields also posted photos on X of graffiti on the campus of University of Massachusetts Amherst on Tuesday.
“Autonomous activists struck the Engineering Quad and Fine Arts Center of UMass Amherst… Expect more autonomous actions at UMass Amherst. We will not rest until war profiteers are gone, and Palestine is fully liberated,” the post stated.
After similar acts of vandalism at SUNY New Paltz on Sunday night and the City University of New York, New York Governor Kathy Hochul wrote in a post on X that the state has “offered the NYPD and CUNY support to ensure all students are safe.”
Brown University rejects anti-Israel students’ divestment proposal
[IsraelTimes] Explaining vote, board of governors says the university’s ‘mission is to discover, communicate and preserve knowledge. It’s not to adjudicate or resolve global conflicts’. Brown is a ray of light in the darkness, though it would have been more comforting if they’d moved at faster than glacial speed. Pro-Hamas Activists at Pomona College Take Over and Vandalize a Campus Building
[HotAir] Pomona College in southern California is one of five undergraduate colleges and two grad schools that make up a group called the Claremont Colleges. On Oct. 7, Pomona Divest from Apartheid (PDfA) held a student walkout with the 60+ student orgs demanding Pomona divest from weapons manufacturers, because there can be no business as usual during genocide.
After the walk out marched to Carnegie Hall where classes were being held and shoved their way in past security.
Organizers announced over megaphones that “Today this is a People’s University for Palestine,” and that demonstrators would be leaving at 4:00 P.M. Inside, students chanted while organizers handed out pamphlets. Lead organizers commandeered multiple classrooms to lead “teach-in” sessions for participants. A list of approved chants obtained by the Independent includes “Intifada intifada, LONG LIVE THE INTIFADA,” “Hey hey ho ho! iSRAEL [sic] HAS GOT TO GO,” and We don't want two states, WE WANT ‘48!”
Professors told students in the classes being disrupted that they could leave, but one Jewish student said they didn't feel safe walking through the throng of activists chanting about the Intifada. The activists also zip-tied the doors shut and blocked entrances so no one else could come in.
One professor whose office is in the building was stuck inside because the activists would not let him back into his office to get his phone. He told the Claremont Independent he was shoved by the activists and added, "People were pretty nasty for two or three hours."
Midway through those two to three hours the school put out a statement condemning the action and threatening consequences. A statement. Golly. 10 UC Irvine anti-Israel activists face charges, including refusal to disperse, resisting arrest
[CampusReform] The charges stem from a May 15 protest that took place at the school. Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said that ‘criminal activity which transcends peaceful assembly will not be tolerated.... my prosecutors are continuing to review evidence against the remaining 40 arrestees.’
National Students for Justice in Palestine celebrates glider attack in 'call to action' image
[CampusReform] The anti-Israel student group advertised the Day of Resistance with an ad that pays homage to the Hamas paraglider attack over the weekend. During the 10/7/2023 attack, reports say that Hamas militants killed at least 260 civilians who were attending the Tribe of Nova music festival.
UPenn donor who cut ties with alma mater redirects millions to Israeli universities instead: 'Unreformable'
[FoxNews] David Magerman, a venture capitalist and philanthropist, severed ties with the University of Pennsylvania over its response to antisemitism last year. His donations will support programs for English-speaking students to learn academic Hebrew and integrate into STEM degree programs in Israel. He said it's naive to believe that elite U.S. universities are "reformable."
After donating roughly $10 million over the years, Magerman said he was "ashamed" to be associated with the university. Other prominent donors followed suit. Apollo CEO Marc Rowan, who donated $50 million to UPenn in 2018, called on other donors at the time to send $1 checks with the hopes of forcing a change in leadership at the university. He urged all Jewish donors to "close their checkbooks."
Ross Stevens, founder and CEO of Stone Ridge Asset Management, pulled his donation estimated at approximately $100 million shortly thereafter, writing in a letter that the school's "permissive approach to hate speech calling for violence against Jews and laissez-faire attitude toward harassment and discrimination against Jewish students would violate any policies or rules that prohibit harassment and discrimination based on religion," Axios reported.
Magerman recently announced that he plans to reallocate the funds he previously sent to UPenn to five Israeli colleges in $1 million increments. These include Tel Aviv University, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Bar-Ilan University, and Jerusalem College of Technology.
Hedge fund billionaire Cliff Asness did the same shortly after the outbreak of the Gaza war.

If media published their photos and called them hamas supporting racists and homophobes
Accompanied by stories of hamas executing gays and muslim brotherhood racism then they would immediately stop
[Jpost] Two soldiers were wounded during combat, a combat officer from the Military Engineering School, and a reservist from Battalion 9203.
The Israel Air Force and IDF conducted several interceptions and strikes following alerts in the Galilee and Ashkelon areas, the IDF reported throughout Yom Kippur.
At around 10 a.m. on Saturday, a rocket launched from Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... toward the Central Galilee was successfully intercepted, as were multiple rockets, also launched from Lebanon, toward the Upper Galilee, an hour later, the IDF said.
Hezbollah finds themselves in a use it or lose it situation, I think, even if they don’t want to shoot off enough all at once to trigger Israel to get really, really serious in their direction. Hamas ditto.
The IDF noted that shortly after 12 p.m. on Saturday, they identified approximately 30 more rockets crossing from Lebanon toward the Galilee, some of which they intercepted; however, they reported some hits. Two more rockets, intercepted almost an hour later, crossed from Lebanon.
Close to 5 p.m., around 16 more launches from Lebanon were detected in the Upper Galilee; some were intercepted, and impacts were reported in the area. Finally, the IDF reported that two rockets launched from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip toward Ashkelon fell in open areas without causing any harm.
Furthermore, the Israel Air Force intercepted two drones launched from Lebanon that did not enter Israeli airspace.Alerts sounded in all incidents. When the alerts sounded on Saturday, Israeli media reported that 12 people sustained minor injuries while heading to a protected area, while the blast wave from a rocket falling in the Western Galilee lightly injured three others.
In response to the attacks during the solemn fast day, the IDF targeted approximately 280 terror targets in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, including tunnels, weapon storage facilities, and rocket launch sites aimed at Israel.
IDF ELIMINATES TERRORISTS, DESTROYS TERROR SITES IN LEBANON, GAZA
Additionally, the IDF eliminated around 50 Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon while uncovering weapons and other equipment belonging to the terrorist organization.
In Gaza, IDF forces neutralized over 200 terrorists. In Jabalya, more than 20 bully boyz were eliminated through a combination of tank fire, close combat, and Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s by the 162nd Division. In the central Gaza Strip, the 252nd Division eliminated several terrorist groups involved in anti-tank attacks, while in Rafah, the IDF’s Gaza Division forces took out additional bully boyz who were targeting IDF soldiers.
During these operations, the IAF destroyed rocket and missile launchers in southern Lebanon and hit an underground Hezbollah site near the Syria-Lebanon border. Targets included underground terrorist facilities, weapon storage, command centers, terrorist cells, and military sites linked to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... in Gaza.
Two soldiers were maimed during combat in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, the IDF reported on Saturday evening. An officer from the Military Engineering School was severely maimed during combat in southern Gaza earlier on Saturday. A reservist from Battalion 9203, part of the Alexandroni Brigade, sustained severe injuries during combat in southern Lebanon in a separate incident on Saturday.
Both soldiers have been evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families have been notified.
[Rudaw] The US military announced on Saturday it conducted Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s against Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) camps in Syria the day prior, adding that the strikes caused no civilian casualties.
US forces "conducted a series of airstrikes against multiple known ISIS camps in Syria in the early morning of Oct. 11," Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on X.
"The strikes will disrupt the ability of ISIS to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against the United States, its allies and partners, and civilians throughout the region," the statement said.
According to CENTCOM’s assessments, there were no civilian casualties. No details were provided on the precise location of the strikes.
Around 900 American troops in Syria are part of an international coalition supporting the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against ISIS in the country.
Last month, the US military announced two airstrikes killed 37 ISIS and al-Qaeda affiliate Hurras al-Din members and leaders in Syria.
Days prior, a "large-scale" US airstrike on an ISIS training camp in central Syria killed "at least 28 ISIS operatives, including at least four big shots," according to CENTCOM.
