[American Thinker] That was about the only question not asked by a Washington press corps wondering if a billionaire developer who beat 16 primary opponents, including senators and governors, for the Republican nomination, then beat the smartest woman in the world for the presidency, and is the author of an economic renaissance is drinking too much Diet Coke. If these are the results, then buy a case each for the 535 in the House and the Senate.
Despite a detailed physical report presented at Tuesday's White House press conference by presidential physician Rear Admiral Dr. Ronny Jackson saying President Trump is in excellent health, the Jim Acostas of the world want to know if President Trump wears dentures and what his BMI (body mass index) is. In fact, we how have reports of a "girther" movement arising. Maybe we can retire the national debt with a "guess his weight" contest. William Howard Taft, call your office.
Judging from the repetitive questions about President Trump's mental state, whether he has Alzheimer's or early onset dementia, one would suggest that it is the press that has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). At least they didn't ask him if he knows where Captain Queeg's missing strawberries were.
Dr. Jackson was asked about so-called mental health professionals around the country diagnosing President Trump as mentally unfit, suggesting that the president, who is fond of McDonald's, is one fry short of a Happy Meal. Dr. Jackson was too charitable to suggest what response these distant doctors should receive. They should have their licenses pulled for unprofessional conduct.
There is something called the "Goldwater rule," named after the 1964 Fact magazine article in which psychiatrists were polled about Senator Barry Goldwater's fitness to be president. The American Psychiatric Association considers it unethical to make and express psychological evaluations from afar and without the evaluee's consent. Most people just call it by its other name: character assassination.

Now, now, now, everyone. One night long ago in the ER I actually and deliberately ordered a pregnancy test on a 19-year-old man. You should have heard the bellyaching from other staff members. Then everybody got vewy, vewy quiet when the test came back positive. Unfortunately for him.
About two dozen NYPD offficers and investigators from the Manhattan district attorney’s office raided the offices of Newsweek and its parent company, IBT Media, on Thursday.
IBT Media was co-founded by Jonathan Davis and Etienne Uzac. The IRS placed a $1.2 million federal tax lien against Uzac in December 2017.
The agents were said to be photographing servers in the offices, but not downloading any files at the offices on 7 Hanover Square, according to sources.
They appeared to be photographing the serial numbers on the machines, said a source.
In the past, IBT has been linked to a Christian church founded by Korean American evangelist David Jang and Olivet University, a university in California that Jang’s followers founded.
NYPD and the IRS had not responded to a call by press time. The Manhattan DA declined to comment.
[WashingtonPost] She might be more familiar with democracy, but top House Democrat Nancy Pelosi is soon going to show her expertise on a certain kind of monarchy: The California congresswoman is slated to appear as a guest judge on RuPaul’s drag-queen competition show "Drag Race All Stars." This might be interesting.
Yep, the former House speaker will be sizing up the runway action as Mama Ru’s bewigged ladies strut their stuff in search of the coveted crown. Sure, a pol like Pelosi might be an unconventional choice of judge for the VH1 show (other celebs guest-judging the upcoming season include "High School Musical" actress Vanessa Hudgens, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" star Tituss Burgess, and Broadway icon Kristin Chenoweth). I have no idea who any of those people are.
But, hey, she does know a thing or two about getting stuff done in high heels (the peripatetic congresswoman is rarely seen without a pair of pumps). And Pelosi, whose district includes San Francisco, has been a longtime supporter of the LGBT community. A Pelosi rep tells us it’s the latter factor that prompted her to sign on to the gig, to show solidarity in the face of what she calls attacks against LGBT people by the Trump administration. Funny, I haven't seen or heard about attacks by the Trump administration on LGBT people.
Pelosi has been a fan of the show, we’re told, and its credo of being proud of who you are.
Her appearance has already taped, but we couldn’t pry any spoilers out of her about what to expect when the series begins Jan. 25. Just this one from her spokesman: "She had a ’fabulous’ time." Simply Fabulous

[NYTimes] India tested a long-range ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear weapons on Thursday, paving the way for membership to a small list of countries with access to intercontinental missiles and putting most of China in its reach.
The ballistic missile, called Agni 5, was launched from Abdul Kalam Island, off Odisha State in eastern India on Thursday morning, traveling for around 19 minutes and 3,000 miles. In a statement, the Indian Ministry of Defense said that all objectives of the mission had been "successfully met."
The firing of the Agni-5 comes months after the official end of a standoff between China and India over a remote sliver of land in the Himalayas, a squabble that lasted for more than two months and that was one of the worst border disputes between the countries in 30 years. The launch also comes during a tense period in India's troubled relationship with Pakistan, its nuclear-armed neighbor.
Nitin A. Gokhale, an independent national security analyst in New Delhi, said India did not previously have a missile capable of hitting "high-value targets" in China. But Thursday's successful launch of the Agni 5 has changed the calculus, he said, putting most of China, including major eastern coastal cities such as Shanghai, in reach.
"If there are hostilities, and if there are contingencies, then India has something which can deter China or at least make China think twice," he said.
The Agni 5 ‐ Agni means fire in Hindi ‐ is about 55 feet long and was developed in India. It is the most advanced missile in the Agni series, with a strike range of more than 3,000 miles and a payload of 1.5 tons, which is enough to transport a fusion-boosted fission weapon, a type of nuclear device.
Coming after four previous tests, Thursday's firing of the Agni 5 took India closer to incorporating the missile into its Strategic Forces Command, which oversees the country's nuclear weapons stockpile.

Posted under opinion, even though it is reported as 'news'.
[Ay-Pee] President Donald Trump relentlessly congratulates himself for the healthy state of the U.S. economy, with its steady growth, low unemployment, busier factories and confident consumers. But in the year since Trump's inauguration, most analysts tend to agree on this: The economy remains essentially the same sturdy one he inherited from Barack Obama. Why, even 'polls' of the 'public' agree!
The U.S. public appears to have a similar view, according to a Quinnipiac University poll last week. It found that two-thirds of American voters say the economy is "excellent" or "good," the highest since the poll started asking about the economy in 2001. Yet 49 percent of respondents credited Obama for the economy's health, compared with 40 percent who credited Trump.
Other factors besides tax cuts and deregulation are playing a role. For the first time since the most recent major recession ended in 2009, the global economy is enjoying widespread growth. That kind of broad expansion helps boost spending on U.S. exports of factory goods, a boon to manufacturers, and also lifts the stock market because it increases profits for U.S. multinational corporations.
And most of the jobs that have been added this year were outside the Midwestern "Rust Belt" states that swung for Trump in the election. Instead, some of the states with the biggest gains are in the South, Southwest and Northwest. Meanwhile, Michigan's manufacturing employment was flat last year, while factory jobs rose just 0.5 percent in Ohio. Pennsylvania lost manufacturing jobs. However....
"2017 was largely an Obama economy," Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, said. "But going forward it will definitely be a Trump economy."

No one ever appreciates you until you're gone, right ?
Ah, the evergreen headline. I don't know about you, but it's long past time for a 'backlash' or two or three...
[Zero Hedge] Canadian Muslims say they fear anti-Muslim hate over this week’s revelation that a young girl fabricated an internationally anti-Muslim hate crime story.
Canadian police reported that Kwalah Noman, an 11-year-old Muslim girl from Toronto, fabricated her claims that a man repeatedly attacked her by trying to cut off her hijab in public, sparking concern among the Toronto Muslim community that outrage over the lie could lead to actual discrimination, according to CTV News. Sabrine Azraq, a member of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW), urged people to argue against any anger over the lie.
"This will probably be used as an opportunity to downplay all the times that Muslims come out and speak out against Islamophobia," Azraq told CTV News. For a woman, she's got some balls saying that.
Amira Elghawaby, a human rights activist, said she also feared potential, legitimate backlash, adding that the Canadian Muslim community is filled with " a lot of anxiety" over the upcoming anniversary of the Jan. 29 Quebec City mosque massacre.
Both Elghawaby and CCMW member Sabreena Ghaffar-Siddiqui pleaded with the public to take Noman’s age into consideration and refrain from targeting an 11-year-old girl. And why should Canadian citizens listen to this? She felt free to participate in a hoax. I'd give her 30 days in juvee 'youth center', her accomplices a lot more.

When the event occurred, I saw a brief mention somewhere that the driver was being chased by the rioters. After that one instance, nothing. No sense reporting news that doesn't fit the Narrative, eh?
[Daily Caller] The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is changing an 8-year-old policy and restricting the amount of days federal employees can telecommute for work, Politico reports.
The USDA is cutting a policy that let workers telecommute for any number of days they could get approved by a supervisor.
"Employees will be permitted to telework two days per pay period and must be at their duty station four days each week," the USDA said in a statement to The Daily Caller News Foundation. "And, as was true under the old policy, supervisors must approve any telework agreement."
The new policy exempts collective bargaining agreements where more telecommuting days are allowed.
Many employees in the department are upset over the change, some of whom chose to work for the agency specifically because of the flexible rules on in-office work. The USDA says the new policy will affect about one-fifth of its current workforce, according to Politico.
The new policy will overwhelmingly affect members of the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), who often have offices in rural and remote areas. Some USFS members must commute through areas that are vulnerable to bad weather, such as through mountains.

...that's an assumption. Home or office, does it really matter in non-productive time? However, its a good metric in any downsizing. Who ever arrives late and leaves early is a mark that their job is, shall we say, not challenging?
[TruthRevolt] In a Fox & Friends appearance on Wednesday, Eric Trump shut down the accusations that his father is a racist in the most concise way possible.
"My father sees one color: green," said the second-eldest son of President Trump.
He continued:
"That's all he cares about. He cares about the economy, right? He does not see race. He's the least racist person I have ever met in my entire life. It's total nonsense."
Trump is upset that his father will never be credited for reviving a sluggish economy, especially within the black community:
"And you know what? At the same time they're saying that, they'll never report that African-American unemployment is the lowest it has ever been; the lowest it's ever been in this country. They won't give him any credit for that. And by the way, he campaigned on that."
The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the black unemployment rate at under 7 percent for the first time since they began tracking in the early 70's.
"But then they'll go out and call him racist," added Trump. "It's very sad. It's a race to the bottom. They stoop very, very low. And the reason they do that is they don't have their own message."
Trump went on to say that the Democrats have no platform and no clue what the American people want, whereas his dad tapped into a side of the U.S. largely ignored by the Left. And the money quote..
"The reason he won the election is he had a message that actually resonated with the people of this country and he's, quite frankly, delivered on it," Trump said. "And I think it really scares them." And that is why the donks will do ANYTHINK to discredit and remove him from office, including risking a civil war. They know that if minorities wake up and start paying attention to facts instead of "RACISM!!!", the donks are finished as a party.
Mike Morrell factoid from the closing:
[Breitbart] Morell charged the dossier "doesn’t take you anywhere, I don’t think."
"I had two questions when I first read it. One was, how did Chris talk to these sources? I have subsequently learned that he used intermediaries."
Morell continued:
And then I asked myself, why did these guys provide this information, what was their motivation? And I subsequently learned that he paid them. That the intermediaries paid the sources and the intermediaries got the money from Chris. And that kind of worries me a little bit because if you’re paying somebody, particularly former FSB [Russian intelligence] officers, they are going to tell you truth and innuendo and rumor, and they’re going to call you up and say, "Hey, let’s have another meeting, I have more information for you," because they want to get paid some more.
I think you’ve got to take all that into consideration when you consider the dossier. My emphaisis added.

'Global warming' has been going on for 10-15,000 years. Long Island was formed at the end of a glacier thousands of feet thick. Indian relics are found miles offshore under 50' of water. Before we can claim human activity is causing more warming we need to explain why warming should have stopped.

Everything I have read on global warming contradicts everything I have ever read about the past two ice ages.
The precursor to an ice age is the melting of the polar caps, which reduces the conductivity of heat in the oceans and substantially degrades the ocean currents which are in thermodynamics, convection currents as the oceans try to read thermal equilibrium.
Once the gulf stream and the other warm water currents quit working and the exposed polar oceans pump vast amounts of humidity into the atmosphere, the snow fall grows exponentially and a new ice age begins.
As a side note, the climate alarmists for years were on the ice age bandwagon. In fact a predecessor to "The Day After" was a Paul Newman movie called "Domino" which showed how mankind would adapt and or die as the result of a coming ice age.
So the carbon tax and the carbon credit exchanges that made Al Gore and others wealthy and are weaponized by the left in their eternal quest for power are as we would say "fake news" or "junk science".
In fact, the opposite would most likely happen global warming and the increase in ocean temperatures would radically increase the amount of rainfall. It is no accident that every large desert is faced by an extremely cold water current, the Atakapa, Kalahari, Sahara, and Mojave are all adjacent to cold water currents. Warming those currents would increase humidity and then increase the rainfall...as well as diluting the ocean salinity and reducing the currents.
These climatologists are idiots and do not view weather as part of a much larger set of events/scientific rules that contradict everything they say.

These climatologists are idiots and do not view weather as part of a much larger set of events/scientific rules that contradict everything they say.
But but... we have evidence from our hand-crafted computer models and thoroughly massaged and "adjusted" data showing that global warming climate change is real and we are all doomed. DOOMED, I tell you! (unless you give us more money and regulations)
Personally, I'll be glad when all this nonsense blows over and we can go back to doing science instead of creating a new religion.
[Novosti - Russia] A thaw in relations between North and South Koreas began earlier this month, with the two nations reopening a hotline to discuss the participation of DPRK athletes in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Despite an Olympic thaw between Pyongyang and Seoul, North Korea is planning to hold a military parade on the eve of the world's most well-recognized sporting competition, Yonhap News Agency of South Korea said Thursday, citing an unidentified South Korean government source.
"We believe the North will hold a military parade on February 8th to mark the anniversary of the birth of its regular forces," the source was quoted as saying, adding that the parade would involve some 12,000 soldiers, artillery pieces and other weapons.
At the same time, the South Korean defense ministry spokesman refused to comment on "any matters of military intelligence."
North Korea has been holding military parades to mark a variety of events. In April, 2017, Pyongyang staged a large event, commemorating the 105th anniversary of the North's founder and showcasing the country's weaponry, featuring what appeared to be a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
Apart from proposing to take part in the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang during his new year speech, Kim Jong-un unveiled plans to "organize combat drills like real battles" during the current year to mark the army's 70th anniversary.
[Novosti-Russia] Syrian Foreign Ministry has warned Turkey against taking hostile action in Afrin, saying that Damascus will consider it an act of aggression and undermine the country's sovereignty.
The statement was made after Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu's statement made earlier in the day, saying that Ankara would intervene in Syria's Afrin and Manbij, citing the threat posed by the Kurdish militants to the integrity of the Syrian border.
Meanwhile, the Turkey's General Staff has reportedly put the troops on the border with Syria on high alert, preparing for a possible operation in Syrian Afrin against the armed formations of the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), which Turkey considers a terrorist organization, associated with the banned in the country Kurdistan Workers Party.
The US Military Presence in Syria
A similar position has been voiced regarding the US presence on the Syrian soul by a source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry, as quoted by the state-run SANA news agency on January 18, who said that the internal affairs of any country should be managed by the people of that country.
The comment was made after US State Secretary Rex Tillerson's statement, made on January 17, saying that the United States would continue maintaining its military presence in Syria to prevent the re-emergence of the Daesh terrorist group (banned in Russia), and called on US allies to increase economic pressure on Syrian President Bashar Assad. According to Tillerson, the US diplomatic activities in Syria will be aimed at stabilizing the situation in the country, which does not involve open-ended nation-building or reconstruction of the war-torn country, and will seek to deter Iran’s efforts to achieve greater influence in the region.

[10News] A San Diego State University lecturer who sent racially offensive messages to a white student no longer has teaching duties this semester, an SDSU spokesperson said Wednesday.
Crystal Sudano said Oscar Monge made offensive comments in Facebook messages to her. The messages included talk about a black student being an "Uncle Tom," complaining about the "whiteness" of student government, and even calling Sudano a "White Savior," a term that sometimes refers to a white person who helps minorities to hide their own racism.
Sudano filed a complaint with the school. The California Attorney General's office investigated and determined Monge did harass and discriminate against Sudano because of her race, and threatened her grades, according to a report obtained by 10News.
Monge has not responded to a 10News request for comment.
Other instructors will take over the three classes Monge was scheduled to teach.

having an M.A. degree but no PhD. Hence the title 'Lecturer'.
One can be a professor instead of a lecturer, and tenured as well, without a PhD. The school may have specific rules about that, but in principle lack of a PhD is not a limiting factor.
[JakartaGlobe] Marvel Wants Writers to Create Indonesian Superheroes
While Indonesian superheroes would be more than welcome in Marvel Comics, writers are still needed to create their stories.
A few months ago, Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C. B. Cebulski told the Jakarta Globe that if any artist, author or publisher pitches a good idea, the company will be happy to make it come true.
There are already several Indonesian illustrators, but no writers yet, working for the giant publisher.
"Artists are half of the creative process. We also need a writer, so we're still looking for a local writer who can bring an original story, make an original character, and make a character in the Marvel universe. So, that's the next step, the final piece of the puzzle that we need. The writer is gonna complete the picture, creating a wholly Indonesian hero," Cebulski said during Jakarta's Marvel Creative Day Out on Friday (12/01).
The Indonesians who work at Marvel Comics include pencillers Ario Anindito and Miralti Firmansyah, colorist Sunny Gho and cover artist Yasmine Putri.
Although they can participate in creating the narrative of a story, they usually focus on the parts they are assigned to. Small improvisations can be made, as long as they do not go against the script created by the writer.
For example, in "Secret Empire: United #1," Ario inserted a picture of the comical Cisewu tiger on Deadpool's sword holster. He did it to commemorate the statue after it was demolished by the Indonesian Military (TNI).
But anything more than that requires a specific process.
"The thought of pitching a story crossed our minds but we just normally don't do that, only on special occasions like portfolio reviews," Sunny said.
Barriers
Cebulski told the audience at Marvel Day Creative Day Out that becoming a Marvel writer is more difficult than becoming an illustrator.
"You have to work your way up through smaller publishers first," he said.
Stories need to be submitted to the company through an agent.
He explained that Marvel takes scripts in two forms: the Marvel style and the screenplay style. The former is just a paragraph that summarizes the story, while in the screenplay style the story is told in details, panel by panel, with dialogues and captions.
Although a language barrier makes Marvel hire mostly native English speakers as writers, Cebulski said they also have authors from South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and China.
But language is not all. New characters are usually introduced in ongoing series, so it is important for aspiring writers to be able to add their stories to the Marvel universe.
"If we have a new character, we have to know how to place them in the Marvel universe. If there is a superhero from Indonesia, which story can they fit? Who will they interact with? How big is their portion in the story?" Ario said.
According to Sunny, who is working for Marvel since 2009, the problem is that in Indonesia making comic-books is a one-person job.
"In the United States [where Marvel is based] people know that being a comic writer is a profession. But in Indonesia, the one who writes the story is the same person as the one who draws," he said.
Fiction writers, on the other hand, rarely use comics to channel their ideas.
"We have a lot of fiction writers but they are not familiar with comics as a medium for fiction-writing. They don't know that there are comic scripts," Sunny said.
Ario encouraged writers to get on board.
"This is a golden opportunity [for writers] to become the first Marvel Comics writer from Indonesia," he said.

Israeli security forces exchanged fire with Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank city of Jenin Wednesday night, fatally shooting one of the terrorists involved in the murder of Rabbi Raziel Shevach and capturing other member of the terrorist cell.
At least one Palestinian was reportedly killed in the gunfight. An Israeli was hurt as well and required evacuation.
The Israeli force was searching for the murderers of Rabbi Raziel Shevach, who was killed in a drive-by terrorist attack on January 9. On Wednesday afternoon, the investigation gained critical new information which led the security forces to block routes and enter Jenin with dozens of vehicles.
A Border Police spokesperson stated that several people had been wounded during the operation, as hundreds of Palestinians began to throw stones at the troops and border policemen who restored order.
The Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, terror group responded Thursday to the IDF’s killing in Jenin overnight Wednesday of a terrorist involved in last week’s fatal drive-by shooting of Rabbi Raziel Shevah.
"The Jenin cell is not the first and will not be the last. The criminal security cooperation will not prevent the resistance from standing up to Trump’s decision and from protecting Jerusalem," a Hamas statement read.
[PoliZette] An Australian investigative journalist who is a retired police detective said Tuesday he has been asked to provide the FBI with details about multiple allegations of mishandling millions of dollars contributed to the Clinton Foundation by the Aussie government.
"I have been asked to provide the FBI with further and better particulars about allegations regarding improper donations to the CF funded by Australian taxpayers," Michael Smith told LifeZette.
At the center of Smith’s complaints are former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and multiple Australian government officials, including senior diplomat Alexander Downer, that government’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Downer hit U.S. headlines recently when he was reported to have told the FBI of a May 2016 conversation he had with George Papadopoulos, then a campaign aide to President Donald Trump. Downer told U.S. law enforcement officials that Papadopoulos told him Russia had "dirt" on Hillary Clinton.
The New York Times claimed in its Dec. 30, 2017, story that the information Downer gave the FBI was a major factor in the bureau’s decision to investigate allegations of collusion between Russian interests and the Trump campaign. Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI last year.
The materials Smith is giving the FBI focus on a 2006 memorandum of understanding between the Australian government and the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton HIV/AIDs Initiative (CHAI). Smith claims the foundation received a "$25M financial advantage dishonestly obtained by deception" as a result of actions by Bill Clinton and Downer, who was then Australia’s minister of foreign affairs.

[RADIOSHABELLE] Somali National Army (SNA) captured five al-Shabaab ... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia... holy warriors in an operation south of Baidoa town, the administrative capital of Southwest State, officials said Wednesday.
A front man for the Southwest State Presidency Nuradin Yusuf Abukar said SNA and Southwest State forces jointly carried out the operations at Manaas location.
"SNA and Southwest State forces conducted very successful operation against the terrorist hard boy group at Manaas location this morning, they captured five al-Shabaab fighters and recovered four cycle of violences during the operation," Abukar said.
He confirmed that some soldiers sustained slight injuries during the operation, adding that the joint forces liberated several areas in and around the area so far.

You know it's over, everyone knows it's over. Why bother keeping up appearances? Not that you tried very hard in the past. Back then, you made sly references to your belief, for example, that Jewish history in Israel and Jerusalem are fabrications of Zionism. But now you feel liberated to say what you really believe. He'd make a good Black Forest smoker. I can just see smoke rolling from his ears.
So you call a meeting of the Palestine Liberation Organization. You have a list of things to get off your chest. You have 400 years of alternative history to expound. The media is there to report everything you say. You held it all in for a decade, and you had to, because Obama couldn't stop talking about how you're a great man of peace and how much he loathes the Israelis. You were being a friend by not pointing out that the Jews were poisoning the drinking water in Palestine and getting young Palestinians hooked on drugs.

Abbas is getting the Zerobama treatment.
If he says anything that doesn't fit the narrative about Palestinians good, Israelis bad, then they don't report it. Much in the same way every lie that the empty suit told us about the "affordable (HAHAHHAHA) care(?) act" or the IRS, or the Iranian deal or the Uranium one deal is quietly swept under the rug when the narrative is repeated to the gullible left.

Sheikh Abdul Muhsin al-Tuwaijri was a member of a mission building mosques in Upper Guinea and was killed on Tuesday night in the village of Kantebalandougou, between the towns Kankan and Kerouane.
He was "shot twice in the chest while riding a cycle of violence with a villager on the way to get his car," a security source told AFP.
"The Saudi died at the scene while his lover companion, who owned the cycle of violence, was maimed and taken to a hospital in Kankan," said a medical source.

[GEO.TV] The UN agency for Paleostinian refugees warned Wednesday it faced its worst funding crisis ever after the White House froze tens of millions of dollars in contributions, a move Paleostinian leaders decried as cruel and blatantly biased.
The agency provides Paleostinian refugees and their descendants across the Middle East with services, including schools and medical care, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long accused it of hostility toward Israel and called for its closure.
Around five million Paleostinians are eligible for its services.
On Tuesday, the United States held back $65 million that had been destined for the agency, two weeks after US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... threatened future payments.
US is the largest contributor to the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... Relief and Works Agency for Paleostinian refugees (UNRWA).
"The US has announced it will contribute $60 million to the programme budget. There is for the moment no other indication of possible funding," UNRWA Spokesperson Chris Gunness told AFP.
"This dramatically reduced contribution results in the most severe funding crisis in the history of the agency."
He added, "stability in the Middle East is what we are talking about and the potential impact of UNRWA being destabilised is very likely to be widespread, profound, unpredictable and catastrophic."
Senior Paleostinian officials reacted with outrage to what they see as another move against them by Trump’s White House following his declaration of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Eh... What stability in the Middle East? Is there some stability to be made unstable somewhere?

Considering they will just blow it on terrorists anyway... I'd rather just keep it and let Israel take care of them with their typical tender, sweet and tender methods.

Oh yes, my East Texas piney woods brethren in Palestine TX would welcome them with open arms...at the next Baptist Church potluck dinner.
Maybe because the odds are that just about anyone that can walk has a firearm on their person...I am certain the Palestinians would find themselves with kindred spirts, or at least with regards to having firearms.
I will assure you that gun sex is not smiled upon in Texas. We fought at the Alamo over that stuff.
[CNBC] The headline from Apple is that it will make a $350 billion "contribution" to the U.S. economy over the next five years, although it's unclear exactly how the company came to that number.
The company also promised to create 20,000 new jobs and open a new campus.
It said it expects to pay about $38 billion in taxes for the horde of cash it plans to bring back to the United States. This implies it will repatriate virtually all of its $250 billion in overseas cash.
Apple also said it will spend over $30 billion in capital expenditures over the next five years. About $10 billion in capital expenditures will be investments in U.S. data centers, the company said.
Apple added that it will spend $5 billion as part of an innovation fund, up from the $1 billion CEO Tim Cook announced last year on CNBC's "Mad Money."
The job creation will include direct employment and also suppliers and its app business, which it had already planned to grow substantially (app developers earned $26.5 billion in 2017.) The new campus will focus on customer support.
Wednesday's announcement indicates that Apple will still have hundreds of billions of dollars in cash. It could spend that money on buybacks, dividends or acquisitions or moonshot projects.

It's funny what happens when you lower the cost of doing business, especially over the howling objections of all the Democrats and nearly every member of the media, isn't it?

In a way I think all this is very sad. It's unjust, unfair, and a losing strategy that guys like Apple and Google don't get all the socialism they wish on the rest of us.

National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age... amid rising tension in the Red Sea region.
Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour cited security threats on its eastern border.
"Sudan's national army has sent forces to this area to protect Sudan's security. We have information that some entities are targeting us," he said after meeting his Æthiopian counterpart Workneh Gebeyehu in Khartoum on Sunday.
Earlier this month, Sudan closed its border with its eastern neighbour and sent troops to the frontier amid reports that Egypt had deployed troops in Eritrea. Khartoum also recalled its ambassador to Cairo following the reports.
Mr Ghandour said there was a "security threat to our territories from the eastern border" and that that was "why we are anticipating whatever danger can come from there".

[ALMASDARNEWS] The predominately Kurdish "People’s Protection Units" (YPG) reinforced the Afrin Canton this week after the Ottoman Turkish Army repeatedly attacked their forces in this region located in Aleppo’s northwestern countryside.
According to a Syrian military source, the YPG was able to reinforce the Afrin Canton through the government territories; specifically, the city of Aleppo.
Since the opposition groups in northern Syria are loyal to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund.... , the Kurdish-led forces rely on the Syrian government to give them access to the Afrin Canton from their territories.

This time last year, open-border Leftists were celebrating the swearing in of the first Somali refugee police officer.
In fact, Fake News outlet, the Portland Press Herald, championed the moment as "history-making!"
Fast forward one year and that same "history-making" Somali police officer isn’t arresting criminals ‐ but instead, being arrested.
Zahar Munye Abu was arrested last Saturday in Worcester, MA.
The arrest took place at a Ja Rule and Ashanti concert at the Palladium Nightclub in Worcester.
The refugee police officer, Abu, was charged with five misdemeanors including assault, battery, trespassing, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
But Abu’s rap sheet doesn’t end there.
The cop is also charged with resisting arrest.
As a police officer, she should know and understand the dangers to all parties involved when a suspect resists arrest. Continues.

Apparently the fast-track route to being a police officer that he was on skipped more training than I originally thought.

I bet there were less arrests at the Guns & Roses concert (Worcester Centrum, 1995) than at this 'nightclub'. Does the Somali refugee get a promotion for this expression of diversity?

[All Africa] Zim-bob-we leader Emmerson Mnangagwa has offered "tips" on how to become president that include surviving a bout of poisoning and skipping the country in fear of your life.
The 75-year-old president was speaking to Zim-bob-weans living in Namibia, which he visited on Monday.
In the light-hearted comments Mnangagwa made it clear that aiming for the top job can be hard, if not life-threatening.
"First you need to be poisoned and you need to survive the poisoning," Mnangagwa said, in quotes carried by the state-run Herald. "Next, you need to become a border jumper. Thirdly, you need people like (Sibusiso) Moyo somewhere," he added.
Mnangagwa suffered poisoning at a rally organised in support of former president Bob Muggsy Mugabe Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case. Dumped in November 2017 when the Missus decided she wanted to be president, and opposed heer might against Crocodile Mnangawa Important safety tip: If your opponent goes by the name Crocodile andf your title is Shopper in Chief let him win.... and his wife Grace in August. Mnangagwa's supporters said at the time he had been deliberately poisoned by ice-cream from Grace Mugabe's dairy, a claim that infuriated the former first family.
After Mnangagwa was sacked by Mugabe on November 6, the former vice president skipped the country to neighbouring Mozambique, partly on foot and was ridiculed as a border jumper by Grace Mugabe's political allies.
Mnangagwa, who claimed there had been plans to eliminate him in Zim-bob-we, later flew to South Africa, where he stayed until his return to Harare to take over the reins of power from Mugabe.
The president's reference to Sibusiso Moyo, who is now the foreign minister, refers to Moyo's now-famous role as the army officer who announced the military takeover on state ZBC TV on November 15. He said the army was only targeting "criminals" around Mugabe, who stepped down a week later.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The "Victory Alliance", which brought together Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the Popular Mobilization Unit (PMU) militias did not last for more than 48 hours. The "victorious" coalition was on the verge of disintegration, putting Abadi in a difficult position.
Now, Abadi, a member of the Islamic Dawa Party, is trying to find new Shiite allies.
Abadi’s Sunni allies do not form a popular base in their liberated areas that can help him get enough votes to support his coalition.
The alliances and coalitions between the Secretary General of the Islamic Dawa Party Nouri al-Maliki and the Shura Council in the party triggered different reactions. The council objected to registering the party’s name in the electoral commission under Maliki’s name, and informed him that his post was "honorary". As such, the party decided to withdraw its participation in the elections.
On the same day that the party decided to withdraw its participation in the elections, Abadi declared the formation of a "victory coalition" that fell over and needed new alliances.
’Falling apart’
There is no legal or constitutional provision to determine the date for forming new alliances before the elections which is scheduled to be held on May 15th of this year, so it seems that the Electoral Commission will accept the new alliances that will be announced by the political blocs.
Contrary to what is expected, the popular mobilization factions entered into an alliance with Abadi and merged under the Victory Alliance. These factions are Badr, Asaib, Ahl al-Haq, the Brigades of Imam Ali, as well as the Ataa movement.
The Victory Alliance gathered many important names, and this was an indication that it will not last long and that the victorious military alliance will keep their main coalition (Fatah), headed by Hadi Amiri including the factions of the popular mobilization forces.
It seems that the withdrawal of the PMU militias from the Abadi coalition has put the latter in a corner that he is trying to escape from; nevertheless, there are those who believe that this entire scheme was planned by the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qasem Soleimani.
The Iranian general arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad without providing much information about the dates, the locations and the reasons for his visit. The Intel indicates that "Soleimani supervised the alliances of the Shiite political blocs, especially those close to Iran."
After the PMU militias joined the Victory Alliance led by Abadi, Soleimani headed to Baghdad in a secret visit, as it is usually the case. The sources said, "Soleimani planned to withdraw the factions close to Iran in a move to overthrow Abadi."
Seeking other alliances
Abadi is now looking for an alliance with the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada Tater al-Sadr ... the Iranian catspaw holy man who was 22 years old in 2003 and was nearing 40 in 2010. He spends most of his time in Iran, safely out of the line of fire, where he's learning to be an ayatollah... , but the first delegation, which arrived in the city of Hananah in the province of Najaf where Sadr’s house is located, was unable to meet him. It is believed that Sadr refused to meet with the members of the delegation.
As soon as Abadi announced the new alliance with the popular mobilization forces, many social media users expressed their anger, even those who supported him in his previous steps, when he announced his reformist plans. Iraqi social media users criticized him, and considered him like his predecessor Maliki.
Critics of Abadi, especially those who have demonstrated against corruption and cultural and media elites, criticized him for forming an alliance with suspected "corruption" figures while the prime minister promised to fight "the corrupt."
Abadi’s recent steps appear to be a shock to those who expected to get rid of the "quota" policies that have drowned and ruined the Iraqi state system.
Analysts say that "the disintegration of the recent alliances proved that the Iranians do not want Abadi, because they consider him close to the United States, hence not an ally to Iran."

Damn, I love this shit! This is the price Hollywood (and the NFL) will pay for shitting on and insulting at least half the country for the past two or three decades.
[TheWrap] The National Alliance of Theater Owners (NATO) announced Wednesday that the national ticket average for 2017 rose 3.7 percent year-over-year to $8.93, up from $8.65 last year.
At that average, the estimated number of movie tickets sold last year is 1.23 billion. While that is only a rough estimate that does not account for the higher ticket prices for premium formats and theaters in more expensive cities like New York and Los Angeles, NATO’s estimate is the lowest since 1993, when "Jurassic Park" was the top grossing film of the year and an estimated 1.24 billion tickets were sold. Oh - and you might want to stop making shit movies. That would help as well. Baby steps, people!

Some years back I read about the cultural differences in story and movie choices of the Chinese. In a Chinese story the hero usually dies at the end, their feeling was that anybody can be brave if they feel they have even a small chance to survive, if the hero knows that he is absolutely going to die if he continues what he feels is a right path, then he is a real hero.
Holly Wooden heros will seldom take on a role like that.
[Ynet] Belgium is stepping in to help the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees with a pledge of $23 million, days after the USA announced it will be cutting funds for UNRWA in half.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said Wednesday that "for a lot of Paleostinian refugees, the UNRWA is the last life buoy."
Among the group's projects are helping half a million children get an education and fending off attempts to radicalize them.
De Croo said he was responding to the global fundraising appeal in hopes of making up for funding cuts announced by the United States. The 19 million euros is Belgium's allocation for three years, but De Croo's office said it would be "disbursed immediately.

This means we should cut even more, 'cuz our European 'pals' will pick up the slack every time, right? I sense a 'two birds with one stone' thing happening here.
#10
had the West stopped funding UNRWA years ago there would be today few if any Palestine refugee camps.
It was decades ago, but one of the things that changed my opinion of Paleos was some news footage from a Palestinian refugee camp showing people living in a two-story cinder block building. Conduit on the outside suggested electric service. Now maybe I'm a traditionalist, but for me, a refugee camp means tents, porta-johns and people standing in line for bags of rice and powdered milk. This was more like a cheap apartment complex.
Given the amount of money shoveled into the "Palestinian Cause", you could have created a freaking Abu Dhabi by now One of the glories of the Trumpening is that this long-running scam is coming to an end.

[DEBKA] Palestinian Mahmoud Abbas kicked back hard after grasping he was confronted with an orderly, Arab-backed US peace plan that left his strategy in ruins.
Abbas now sees he is cornered by his nemesis: Trump’s move to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, was not just a one-off whim, but a component of the “deal of the century,” which the US president and his advisers had crafted for months together with Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi, Saudi Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman and the UAE ruler Sheikh Muhammed Bin Ziyad.
The Palestinian leader’s first predicament was how to explain to the Palestinian and Arab public what happened to his master strategy of the past 25 years, for using world opinion to force a pro-Palestinian peace solution down Israel’s throat. Not too long ago, Abbas boasted he was about to pull it off. Now it is crashing before his eyes. It is not enough for him to yell that the “deal of the century” is the “slap of the century.”
Here and there, he may find international pro-Palestinian stalwarts, but the doors are slamming shut as funds for UN bodies and NGOs dry up. Even the Europeans, who dislike Trump and sympathize with the Palestinians, are beginning to think twice about sticking to a blunt line against the US and Israel. They are reluctant to buck the two allies’ partners, the oil-rich Saudi and Emirate rulers, a luxury they can ill afford in these times of profound economic decline.
Much of the criticism of the US-Arab peace plan is prompted by a misapprehension. The plan is based strongly on a two-state solution that offers the Palestinians their own state and negates binational Israeli-Palestinian statehood. But the contours are different from any former peace proposal. Gone for good are the pre-1967 war lines which were Abbas’ sine qua non. According to the fragments leaked about the new proposal, which is still on the work bench, this Palestinian state would rise on territory currently governed by the Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria. Its backbone would be formed by the chain of Palestinian towns running from Nablus in the north through Ramallah and Bethlehem and up to Hebron in the south. They would link up with the Gaza Strip and acquire parts of northern Sinai, presumably Egyptian Rafah and El Arish.
According to this plan, the governmental and population of the new Palestinian state would be oriented mainly in the south, so that Jerusalem would not be relevant as its capital. It would still have Ramallah and possibly Abu Dis, outside Jerusalem, where government and parliamentary compounds were installed long ago, after one of several stillborn peace initiatives.
This plan for Palestinian statehood bears little resemblance to the goal of the 50-year old Palestinian struggle. The Palestinian national movement has consistently aspired to a state that would swallow Israel and extinguish the Zionist vision. However, the contemporary Palestinian state as envisaged in the new plan would be dependent for its strength and survival on Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, all of which maintain good security and economic ties with Israel.
For Mahmoud Abbas this prospect is anathema. He is so beside himself that on Sunday, he cursed the house of US President Donald Trump before the PLO central committee. But, then on Monday, Jan. 16, Trump whipped out his ultimate weapon and slashed aid to the UN Works and Relief Agency for Palestinian refugees, from $165m to $60m.
For many years, UNWRA has been a powerful political sponsor of any Palestinian group willing to join the “struggle” against Israel. Its personnel were flush with the funds paid in as dues by UN members, unlike the often cash-strapped Palestinian Authority in Ramallah. Trump therefore decided that the key to getting the US-Arab peace plan on its feet would be to cut off the flow of cash to its opponents. It is a little-known fact that he was joined in this endeavor by the Saudis, the Emiratis and even Qatar, all of whom started some weeks ago to staunch aid funds to the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority and its chairman Mahmoud Abbas therefore find they are being squeezed into an US-Arab blockade, which leaves Abbas with three options:
To realize his back is to the wall and he has no option other than to accept the “deal of the century.”
Face being ousted by the rest of the Palestinian leadership and replaced with a successor who is amenable to reaching an understanding with the Trump administration, Cairo, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.
Regress to Yasser Arafat’s doctrine of armed struggle – not just against Israel this time but against US targets as well. Abbas indicated that was on the warpath when he challenged President Trump in a ferocious speech he delivered in Cairo Wednesday, Jan 17. He shouted, “Jerusalem would be a gate for peace only when it was the capital of Palestine. But it is also a gate for war, insecurity and instability, if not. Trump must choose.”
His barefaced ultimatum to the US president was accompanied by a rumor his cronies began to circulate, charging that the Trump administration was plotting to forcibly depose Abbas as PA chairman. The Palestinian leader finds himself tied down by two handicaps: shortage of funds for buying supporters and his advanced age. At 82, he may choose a fourth option, to retire voluntarily and make way for a younger leader.
He already has. Bring it or shut up, Peewee. Keep in mind Trump isn't the simpering coward that 0bumhole was, always stroking our enemies because he was afraid of what they might do, and stabbing our allies in the back because he figured he could get away with it.

To really solve the problem permanently the Palestinian Arabs need to be given homes in other Arab nations so they can be just regular Arabs as they were before the term was coined.
Egypt has a huge population in which some can be blended. Saudi Arabia has a huge amount of land in which some can be settled far from Israel. And Yemen might be put on notice that by attacking Saudi Arabia they are volunteering to host the bulk of the Palestinians.

[TruNews] Pakistani IT workers who were supposed to be working on computers for House Democrats were using the passwords of members of Congress to access the House servers and cover their tracks, according to an investigation report.
The Daily Caller’s Luke Rosiak reports the House Office of Inspector General investigators concluded Imran Awan, his wife Hina Alvi, his brothers Abid and Jamal, and his friend Rao Abbas employed a "classic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization," which continued even after they were told to stop. He further reports:
There are indications that numerous members’ data may have been secretly residing not on their designated servers, but instead aggregated onto one server, according to the briefing and other sources. Authorities said that the entire server was then physically stolen.
When acting on the findings, Democratic leadership appear to have misrepresented the issue to their own members as solely a matter of theft, a comparison of the investigators’ findings with Democrats’ recollections and a committee’s public statement shows, leading 44 Democrats to not conduct protective measures typically taken after a breach‐including informing constituents whose personal information may have been exposed.
The report includes a list of involved Democrats, as means of informing their constituents, who likely still don’t know their private information may be making the rounds on the Dark Web.
Rosiak also reported there was evidence the House Democratic Caucus server was "being used for nefarious purposes and elevated the risk that individuals could be reading and/or removing information," and it may have been used to "store documents taken from other offices." At the time, the caucus was led by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra, who is now Attorney General of California.

How long until we discover the Awans could log in to the Republican computer systems and governments systems as well?
According to wiki, "One of Seth Rich's tasks at the DNC was the development of a computer application to help voters locate polling stations"..... or was it ?
Clinton must have known she was vulnerable, hence the Platte River Network remote systems.
Appears we are moving closer and closer to the possibility of espionage.
Congressional investigators released a report indicating, “Democrat IT aides made unauthorized access to congressional servers in 2016, allegedly accessing the data of members for whom they did not work, logging in as members of Congress themselves, and covering their tracks, according to a presentation summarizing the findings of a four-month internal probe,” reported the Daily Caller Tuesday. Rich was murdered in July of 2016. Perhaps a coincidence.

[All Africa] Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... leader, Abubakar Shekau ... the lunatic leader of Boko Haram who has been reported dead at least eleven times, pledged his body and soul to ISIS, told his fighters to hang it up once or twice, and been fired by the Caliph and refused to step down ... , has taunted distraught parents of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, telling them to accept the faceless myrmidons as their sons-in-law.
At least 100 of over 200 Chibok girls kidnapped by the terror group in 2014 remain in captivity.
A new video released on Monday by the group showed more than a dozen girls who identified themselves as the kidnapped Chibok girls.
Many of them had babies, an indication they had been sexually abused by the Lion of Islams.
A young woman who spoke on behalf of the girls said the captives were doing well and were unwilling to return to their families. The speaker wore full face veil and could not be identified.
Mr. Shekau said the parents of the girls should consider himself and his men as their in-laws because their daughters were "happily married" to his fighters.
The 36-minute video which the Boko Haram leader claimed was recorded on Sunday, January 14, also faulted the claims of the Nigerian military that he was "unhealthy" and "a spent horse".
Mr. Shekau said the 107 girls that had so far regained their freedom were released by his group because they refused to convert to Islam or get married.
He said he also had in jug 10 policewomen that were kidnapped along Damboa-Maiduguri Road when his men ambushed a military convoy in 2017.
Mr. Shekau, who spoke largely in Hausa, said the latest attempt by the Nigerian military to invade his enclave and rescue the policewomen was met with severe resistance that caused the government heavy losses including an helicopter, armoured tank, armoured personnel carrier and trucks.

[DEBKA]The US is supplying N. Syrian Kurds with man-portable air defense weapons MANPADs to counter Turkish war threats. Tensions around northern Syria hit a new high on Tuesday, Jan. 16, when Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan threatened his army would invade the Kurdish region of Afrin – and then Kurdish-held Manbij – both of which abut on the Turkish border. Not a single “terrorist” would survive this operation, he declared, describing it as “imminent.” For “terrorists” in Erdogan speak, read fighters of the Kurdish YPG militia, American’s key ally in northern Syria. This militia, spearheaded the battle which drove ISIS out of Raqqa and the US is counting on it to provide the backbone of the new 30,000-strong “Syrian Border Guard.”
The Turkish president did not directly attack the US or the Trump administration, only tangentially. In his speech to parliament, he reproved NATO, saying, “You are duty-bound to strike a certain pose against anyone that harasses one of your partners.” He also sent Turkish chief of staff Gen. Hulusi Akar to Brussels, where he plans to call on Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the US Chiefs of Staff, and deliver Ankara’s final warning before going to war on the Kurds of northern Syria.
Ankara is not alone with a score to settle with Washington over its military moves in northern Syria; Moscow and Damascus view the Trump administration steps as an American military takeover of a section of northern Syria which stretches between Turkey and Iraq and covers some 28,000 sq. km. (compared with 20,770 sq. km of Israel), and splitting up the country.
The Pentagon, estimating that all three may first resort to air strikes against the Kurdish regions and the new US-backed Syrian Border Guard, is sending the YPG man-portable air defense systems – MANPADS – which are especially effective against low-flying jets and helicopters. It is the first time since the Syrian insurgency erupted against the Assad regime in 2011, that the Americans are supplying any rebel force with these weapons.

One of the world’s favorite tourism designations, South Africa’s iconic city of Cape Town, has less than a 100 days of water supply left if a drought is not relieved soon. The city’s mayor, Patricia de Lille, has again urged Capetonians to conserve water in order to avoid “day zero,” now forecast for April 21.
After three consecutive years of drought, the city’s dams, sourced by rainfall, are sitting at just over 36 percent, with the last 10 percent of water unsuitable for drinking. Apart from asking neighbors to keep an eye on each other’s consumption, the city has also been preparing how to deal with what looks like an inevitable shut down of the taps.
Using water driven in from other provinces, residents would rely on 200 distribution points across the city.
Cape Town has seven projects lined up to supplement water supplies, including desalination plants, water recycling and drilling into the earth’s natural underground reservoir. But it’s unclear whether such projects would be completed in time to prevent taps from running dry.

Water theft, waste, crumbling reservoirs and dam infrastructure add to the misery. Luckily, there is still time to blame the former apartheid regime.
An unnamed white South African said this regarding the nation’s current situation:
When the ANC were handed the country on a silver platter (so to speak) 20 years ago there were over 1,020,000 farms successfully feeding its nation and exporting food – feeding the world. Today there are a mere 12,000 productive farms left.. and for the first time in it’s history S.Africa now is forced to import food to feed it’s own citizens. As I write, I just received word that in the Western Cape there is only enough water to last for 2 weeks! This is due to utter incompetence of ANC government blaming previous government for not building enough dams and not building what they did large enough. UGH! 22,000 dams were built by previous government were as a mere 2000 were built by ANC! When ANC became the new governors of the only country in Black Africa with decent infrastructure, resources etc, they opened the borders to every neighboring African country which flooded S.Africa draining the natural resources and bringing their crimes with them.
No matter how “oppressive” apartheid was, at least it kept the trains running on time, your water flowing and, most importantly, kept you alive.

[PacificPundit] Jeff SnowFLAKE is really bitter. Trump exposed him for what he really is and has an approval under 20% in the state of Arizona. With numbers like these, Jeff Flake knows he couldn’t get elected senator again, let alone win a primary race. So he is "retiring" after one term. Today, he gave a speech before Trump’s "fake news media awards" comparing Trump to Stalin for daring to bash the media. It’s pretty obvious that Jeff SnowFLAKE is trying his best to land a gig at CNN or MSNBC after he’s kicked out of the Senate.
With all the Trump hating senators, including many phony Republicans, you would think SnowFLAKE would have had a packed house on the senate floor for his Trump bashing speech. Turns out, only two senators showed up for Flake’s bloviating. One of them was Dicky Durbin. The other was Minnesota communist Amy Klobuchar.
Snowflake Jeff couldn’t even get Chucky Schumer, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Cory T-Bone Booker or Kamala Harris to show up. Those are the nuttiest of the nutty.
The speech was carried live by CNN and C-SPAN.
Flake’s highly anticipated speech hit Trump on his treatment of the press and compared the president to former Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.
"2018 must be the year in which the truth takes a stand against power that would weaken it," Flake said.
"Together we have it within us to turn back these attacks, to write these wrongs, repair this damage, restore reverence for our institutions and prevent moral vandalism," he continued. Little known fact: Jeffie was born in Snowflake, AZ.

Maybe I'm a little weak on my Stalin era knowledge of the Soviet Union, but I'm pretty sure Uncle Joe did a lot more to media types than call them 'fake news' and take them head-on verbally when they become unreasonable, which is most of the time.

Methinks that SnowFlake is in trouble with his constituency, that's the only reason I could see for a RINO to quit the sweet ride that is being a US Senator in these graft filled halcyon days of corruption.
[IsraelTimes] German journalist tells Israeli broadcaster that alleged al-Quds Force agents whose homes were raided were monitored for 2 months
The German journalist who first reported raids by local security forces at the homes of suspected Iranian spies across Germany supplied new details Wednesday about the Israeli and Jewish targets allegedly monitored by the suspects.
Josef Hufelschulte, of the weekly German-language magazine FOCUS, told Israeli public broadcaster Kan that the suspected spies had been gathering information on the Israeli embassy in Berlin, as well as on targets related to the local Jewish community, including kindergartens.
The operatives were monitored by German intelligence services for two months before the raids were conducted, Hufelschulte said.
On Tuesday, German authorities said they were conducting searches across the country in connection with 10 suspected Iranian spies, with FOCUS magazine claiming that they were members of an elite military force that had been eyeing Israeli and Jewish targets.
The report said that arrest warrants for the suspects listed them as members of the al-Quds force, which is part of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps and is considered a terrorist organization by the United States.
[IsraelTimes] The reported attack follows an alleged Israeli Arclight airstrike on a Syrian military base last week
Israel carried out airstrikes at a military airport near Damascus Tuesday night, possibly hitting a weapons depot belonging to the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, according to unconfirmed Syrian opposition reports.
There was no immediate reaction from official Syrian or Israeli sources.
According to the reports, the airstrikes targeted the Mezzeh Military Airport southwest of Damascus.
Last week the Syrian military said that Israel had conducted airstrikes on a military base in the city of al-Qutayfah, outside Damascus, reportedly on a weapons depot containing long-range missiles.

Haley joined the 14 other council envoys for talks with top Afghan leaders in Kabul at the weekend as the government considers holding peace talks with the Taliban to end decades of insurgency.
"They feel confident that the Taliban will be coming to the table," Haley told news hounds at UN headquarters.
While the peace talks will be Afghan-led, the Kabul government did request that the Security Council weigh in to bring Pakistain onboard.
"They did ask us for consensus to put further pressure on Pakistain to come to the table and change their behaviour," Haley said.
The Afghan government is making strides towards stability, she said.
Haley, however, did not specify what measures could be taken to pressure Islamabad.
The Afghan government also requested council help to address narcotics production and trafficking, looking at "every country that moves them," she said.
The council visit - the first since 2010 - comes as the government holds a conference next month to present its strategy for reaching a settlement with gangs.

Finally, a UN Ambassador that understands Pakistan is not our friend and has been a source of instability in the region since its birth, and terror as of late.
She has all the "piss off the progressives" checkboxes ticked: Patriotic, Conservative, Republican, Religious (Catholic adult convert), strong, and unafraid to slap down the evil regimes and the UN (redundant?) in public. What makes its sting is they cant go after her with the victim card because she is female and ethnic minority and family is recent (legal) immigrant who worked their way up.

Two bombers struck the Muna Garage area on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the epicentre of the conflict with the Islamist insurgency, late on Wednesday afternoon, said the officials.
Muna Garage is the site of a camp for displaced people and a frequent target of Boko Haram attacks.
[GEO.TV] Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inspector-General of Police Salahuddin Mehsud confirmed on Wednesday that the minor girl found dead in Mardan's Gujar Garhi area was strangled to death, but added that the post-mortem report points towards sexual assault.
"Looks like the culprit’s intention was to sexually assault [the minor]," he told media here while detailing the incident.
The minor’s post-mortem also shows signs of torture, the IG said.
Four-year-old Aasma went missing on January 13 from the Gujjar Garhi area and was found the next day at 3pm after efforts by the police and the family, Mehsud said.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
