Taliban In Pakistan To Fight for 'Greater Afghanistan'
[LOKMAT] "According to the teachings of Islam, victory of one Muslim necessarily helpful to another Muslim. How Taliban control of Afghanistan will help Pakistani Taliban, time will tell," said the most elusive chief of UN designated terror organisation TTP Noor Wali Mehsud to CNN in an interview.

The dreaded militant leader has a plan in place after the Taliban's takeover of Kabul. He told the channel that the TTP is fighting along with the Taliban in Afghanistan, but the group's main "goal" is to have its "own" independent country.

"Our fight is only in Pakistan and we are at war with the Pakistani forces. We are firmly hoping to take control of Pakistani border regions and make them independent," declared Mehsud from his unclosed hideout in Waziristan near the Durand Line, the disputed border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

TTP's stated objectives are the expulsion of Islamabad's influence in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and neighbouring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Pakistan. Besides, the implementation of a strict interpretation of sharia throughout Pakistan, and the expulsion of Coalition troops from Afghanistan is part of the TTP's playbook. TTP leaders also publicly say that the group seeks to establish an Islamic caliphate in Pakistan that would require the overthrow of the Pakistani Government. TTP has historically maintained close ties to senior al-Qaeda leaders, including Osama Bin Laden.

Page 2

"The TTP is targeting Pakistani Army personnel and CPEC and they are being bolstered by the Afghan Taliban, who want to show their power in territories on both sides of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border to assert its power and influence," says one Pakistani analyst.

Meanwhile, the growing popularity of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement PTM) is a matter of concern for the TTP and the Pakistani rulers.

PTM is a secular, democratic movement of young Pashtuns demanding restoration of peace and tranquillity in the tribal areas of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. PTM holds Pakistan Army responsible for gross human rights violations in the garb of successive counter terrorist operations in the tribal areas.

On Tuesday, the PTM, which has strongholds in Pakistan's tribal areas, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, and parts of Karachi, organised the "jalsa" in support of the peace and stability in Afghanistan

-Great Cultural Revolution
West Point teaching Marxism
[washingtontimes] Future officers at the U.S. Army’s military academy at West Point are being taught several leftist courses that an active-duty military official says are part of Marxist indoctrination.

Three classes in particular at the academy are being taught with what critics say is the goal of social engineering and politicization of the 4,294 cadets: "Social Inequality," "Military Leadership: Leading Inclusive Teams" and "Politics of Race Gender and Sexuality and Diversity." West Point also offers a seminar on diversity and inclusion that features images of Black Lives Matter protesters.

"All of those classes are primarily focused on teaching our nation’s young men and women Marxism in the name of ’social equality,’" the military official told The Washington Times, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The leftist courses were implemented under Army Brig. Gen. Cindy Jebb, who recently retired as West Point’s dean of the academic board. Under Gen. Jebb, West Point loosened academic rigor by giving cadets "study days" that ended Saturday classes and produced a four-day workweek for students.

That critical race theory (CRT) is being taught at West Point was first disclosed by Rep. Michael Waltz, Florida Republican, at a House Armed Services Committee hearing in June during an exchange with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Mr. Austin contended that the controversial theory was not being taught in the U.S. military.

Mr. Waltz then quoted from a letter written by the West Point superintendent, Army Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams, who confirmed that the academy is teaching CRT.

"Another thing that was raised to me was a seminar that over a hundred cadets attended titled ’Understanding Whiteness and White Rage,’ taught by a woman who described the Republican Party and Republican Party platform as a platform of White supremacy," Mr. Waltz said during the hearing.

Specific courses at West Point said to be neo-Marxist include one, designated PL377, on "social inequality" in the United States. The course requires cadets to discuss the relevance of class, race, ethnicity and gender on social opportunity and inequality.

Course PL300B explores leading "diverse teams" while applying case studies on race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability and religion as part of diversity and inclusion studies. The seminar designated SS392 teaches concepts of race, gender and sexuality in the U.S. political system, emphasizing inherent inequalities and how they apply to the Army and Army officers.

The military official said the ideologies taught in the classes are part of a "postmodernism" approach that, along with critical race theory, seeks to attack science and reason to reshape society.

Black Lives Matter is a political organization that seeks to dismantle traditional societal norms, including attacking the nuclear family and further socializing public education. Its founders include avowed Marxists.

"This Marxist postmodern ideology has no business in the military," the official said. "The United States cannot have a military that endorses one ideology over another. The military is an organization that gives and receives orders. Therefore, once the ideology is prevalent, it will be mandated throughout the organization. This was a welcomed practice in Nazi Germany. All Brownshirts were ordered to go through a racial and political purity test."

A spokeswoman for West Point had no immediate comment.

Afghanistan
Biden Admin Pleads with Taliban to Go Easy, So as to Win Approval of ‘International Community'
[PJ] As the U.S.-backed regime in Afghanistan folds with astonishing rapidity before the advancing Taliban, Old Joe Biden’s handlers, ever ready to prove how badly they can foul things up, are appealing to the Taliban to go easy, and dangling before these battle-hardened jihadis the chimerical prospect of acceptance by the bodies of world authority and opinion which those jihadis regard with nothing but contempt. According to the Washington Post, "the U.S. argument to the Taliban is that if it avoids a direct confrontation with the more than 3,000 U.S. troops arriving in Kabul and waits for the completion of the evacuation, that increases the likelihood that both the international community and Afghans will accept the Taliban’s entry into the capital."

Do the foreign policy "experts" in the State Department really think that the Taliban cares in the slightest degree for acceptance by "the international community"? The answer is actually yes, the State wonks do likely think that, and it’s just another illustration of how all their Foreign-Policy-Magazine Rand-Corporation Brookings-Institution doesn’t move them even a millimeter closer to understanding the realities of Afghanistan, which is why we are in the fix now, a fix that has been utterly predictable (and I have predicted it, repeatedly) for the last twenty years.

In reality, the Taliban makes no secret of what it is all about: It is an Islamic group, dedicated to establishing the rule of Islamic law in Afghanistan. The word "Taliban" means "students," i.e., students of the Qur’an and Sunnah. That’s basically all they’re about. The Taliban regards the "international community" as largely made up of jahili regimes, that is, societies of unbelievers that deserve no respect and certainly warrant no accommodation. Whether the "international community" accepts the Taliban or doesn’t, the Taliban will soldier on for Allah. If they attain victory now, they will rule Afghanistan. If they don’t, they will keep fighting against the next crowd of infidels that comes into the country.

Home Front: Politix
Cuomo impeachment proceedings mysteriously halt
[Hot Air] It’s still going to be another ten days before New York’s soon-to-be ex-Governor officially steps down and is replaced by Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. In the meantime, the state Assembly has formed a committee to review all of the available testimony and information, including the State Attorney General’s damning report, and consider impeachment proceedings. Or at least that was the plan until Friday. Speaker Carl Heastie, a longtime Cuomo ally, seemed to take everyone by surprise yesterday (including his own Democratic Party) by announcing that the impeachment probe was on hold and would be suspended after the Governor steps down. The only reasons he managed to come up with for this action are dubious in the extreme and the assembly members who have already been digging into the case are almost universally flummoxed over how this state of affairs came to pass. More than a few are now asking if there was some sort of secret deal in place. (NY Post)

Iraq
Iraqi forces launch anti-ISIS operation north of Baghdad
[Rudaw] Iraqi forces on Saturday morning launched a large-scale security operation to clear out Islamic State (ISIS) remnants in northern Baghdad, the military’s media office announced. ISIS this summer has carried out a campaign of attacks on electricity infrastructure, contributing to power shortages that have plunged parts of central and southern Iraq into the dark.

An operation to "track down ISIS terrorists" in areas north of the capital started at 6 in the morning, the Security Media Cell tweeted. Iraq’s air force and army are being supported in the air by the global coalition against ISIS.

Four ISIS members were arrested by the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service (ICTS) in various operations across the country, top military spokesperson Yehia Rasool announced on Friday.

Coalition spokesperson for the global coalition against ISIS Col. Wayne Marotto said Iraq’s forces are maintaining a “relentless rhythm of ops to ensure Daesh [ISIS] never resurges.”

This summer, the group has claimed dozens of attacks on the country’s electricity grid, blowing up pylons. The attacks contributed to a blackout that left millions in central and southern Iraq without power during a heat wave in July.

Iraqi forces have reported thwarting tens of attacks on the electricity towers and in an emergency security meeting on Friday, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi ordered the establishment of a crisis cell to ensure the power grid is protected.

“The hand of terror and the parties that don’t want the good of Iraq are trying to shuffle the cards by striking the electricity transmission towers,” Kadhimi said in a tweet following the meeting, adding work to repair the damage continues.

In its propaganda magazine, ISIS claims to have carried out 134 attacks on electricity towers between June 6 and August 10. Its claimed activities have not decreased, despite Iraq’s security efforts, as the group said it carried out 33 attacks on power pylons in the last week alone.

Somali army kills Al-Shabaab militants in offensive as country holds key election
[Garowe] At least ten suspected al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
Death Eaters were on Thursday killed by Somali National Army [SNA] in Kismayo
...a port city in the southern Lower Juba province of Somalia, at the extreme southern end of the country (always assuming Somalia can be called a country). It is the commercial capital of the autonomous Jubaland region....
, Jubaland, it has now emerged, following an operation which was carried out as the country battles to eliminate the group.

The attack took place in Berhani, 60 km west of Kismayo, killing at least 10 al-Shabaab members and wounding at least 10 others. No member of government troops was killed or injured during the operation, military said.

"Ten al-Shabaab Death Eaters were killed and 4 hideouts destroyed in a planned security operation conducted by Somali National Army and Jubbaland’s regional forces in Berhani, Dharkay, Yaq-anole and Sariraha villages under Kismayo district on Friday," state media reported.

The attack began with a landmine targeting a convoy of troops, and the blast hit two of the convoy's vehicles. After the blasts, there was a shootout between the two sides that lasted for more than 20 minutes, reports indicate.

Jubaland has been a major hub for the Death Eaters but multiple security operations carried out by local and foreign troops have significantly reduced the threat of the group. al-Shabaab has a huge presence in Lower and Middle Jubba.

The Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] which mans most parts of Jubaland managed to liberate Kismayo, the interim capital of Jubaland, in 2012. Since then, the troops have been trying to protect the region from falling to al-Shabaab again.

Pirates attack vessel off Somalia's coast
[Garowe] A group of Pirates attached a vessel off Somalia's coastline, UK Maritime Trade Organization reported on its Website on Friday, in an attack that comes after months of stability along the region, which was prone to such incidents in previous years.

The incident happened about 100 nautical miles (185 km) northeast of Mogadishu, it said, without giving further details, Rooters noted, in what could give Somali authorities fresh concerns over the safety of her coastline.

For about two years, Somalia's coastline has witnessed relative stability following increased surveillance, which has boosted the economy of the country. Maritime police have been vigilant along the coast.

In 2017, pirates hijacked an Indian vessel before doing so to an Irish vessel. This led to increased security surveillance along the coastline, with a number of pirates either killed or arrested by authorities.

Last year, Somali pirates released three Iranian hostages held for five years, a maritime security official had confirmed, as conflicting reports emerged whether another ship had been seized after a three-year hiatus in hijackings.

The three Iranians are the last of the crew of the Iranian fishing vessel FV Siraj, which was captured by pirates on March 22, 2015.

"This marks the end of an era of Somali piracy and the pain and suffering of Somalia's forgotten hostages," said John Steed, the coordinator of the Hostage Support Programme, a volunteer organization based in Nairobi begun to help rescue crews abandoned by their employers.

The release was meant to mark the end of an era for Somalia's pirates, who held over 2,300 crew between 2010 and 2019.

But instead, six gunnies hijacked the Panama-flagged Aegean II late days later after it had engine problems, a regional governor in Somalia told Rooters.

Musse Salah, the governor of Gardafu in Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
, said the ship was traveling from the United Arab Emirates to Mogadishu port when pirates attacked it, in what would be the first successful hijacking since 2017.

There was 20 crew on board, said a resident in contact with the men who had seized the ship.

A regional security official said the men appeared to have links to a local militia that functioned as a police unit in the Bari region. The official asked not to be named as he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Cyber
Hacker group, not Israel, behind cyberattack on Iran’s train system – report
[IsraelTimes] Cybersecurity company Check Point names opposition group Indra, which it says inflicted ’nation-state-level damage’ in July assault.

A shadowy group — not Israel — was behind a July cyberattack on Iran’s railroad system that according to state media caused "unprecedented chaos" at train stations and reportedly led Tehran to attack an Israeli-owned ship a few weeks later, according to a new report.

The report, released Saturday by the Israeli-American cybersecurity company Check Point Software Technologies, named the Iranian opposition group Indra as the actor behind the attack, which it characterized as having inflicted "nation-state-level damage."

During the July 9 attack, the hackers posted fake messages about alleged train delays and cancellations on display boards at stations across Iran. They also urged passengers to call for more information, listing the phone number of the office of the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
On the following day, the Iranian transportation ministry said a "cyber disruption" had affected its computer systems, taking down its website and links associated with it.

In its report, Check Point said those assaults were carried out using a version of a hacking tool deployed in previous attacks on Iranian interests in Syria that Indra — which is named for a Hindu war god — had grabbed credit for in 2019 and 2020.

According to one report, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
may have believed Israel was behind the cyberattacks, and chose to retaliate by launching a drone attack against the Israeli-owned oil tanker MT Mercer Street on July 29, killing two crew-members and sparking an international uproar.

Check Point said the case highlighted the danger of "a non-state sponsored entity... creating the same kind of havoc" as a state actor with far more resources.

Israel and Iran have been engaged in a years-long shadow war, with Israel allegedly directing most of its efforts — including multiple suspected cyberattacks — at sabotaging the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s nuclear program.

In trusted White-Hat and Gray-hat circles. There is little, if any, sympathy for Black-Hat Hackers attacking run of the mill avg. Joe Blow citizen environment. For the last 60+ years that I have lived around, worked with, supported or trained US military personnel.

But it has become clear to me that it seems the USA DOD / Congress quit fighting to quickly win foreign wars . An replaced Winning with a political agenda of how long it can run a war and spread around $$$ Billions in doing so.

As we have seen, the usual outcome is leaving a bigger mess, a better trained enemy, a re-armed now modernized enemy behind, than war started with. All while a certain privileged click makes $$ Millions, certain DOD levels enhance their retirement careers, all with the Military Industry making $$$ Billions.

Along with the big paying ($$$K) do nothing to earn it jobs. Which always seem to find their way to Political or certain Upper DOD level types, and/or their family members along with a steady indirect $$$$ flow.

Government forces bomb opposition sites in Syria's Idlib, Hama
[NPASYRIA] On Saturday, the Syrian government forces renewedtheir artillery and missile attacks on the villages and towns of the countryside of Idlib and Hama, northwest of Idlib.

The government forces bombed the towns of al-Fatira, Kansafra, Benin and Deir Sunbul in the Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and missiles, military sources from the opposition told North Press.

The government forces stationed in the Jorin Camp targeted the villages of Khirbet al-Naqous and al-Mansoura in the western countryside of Hama, the sources added.

The bombardment coincided with an intense flight of Russian drones over Idlib and the countryside of Hama and Latakia, northwest Syria, whereas no casualties were reported.

[BenarNews] Some members of a church shuttered by authorities in an Indonesian city in 2008 after locals opposed it are insisting the church be reopened, their front man said, after the mayor allowed them to build a new house of worship elsewhere.

Human rights groups have cited the controversy surrounding the GKI Yasmin church in Bogor, just south of Jakarta, as an example of growing intolerance in Indonesia. The Christian minority in the world’s largest Moslem-majority country represents about 11 percent of the population.

Dutch tourist dies after swallowing car keys in Spain
[NYPOST] A Dutch man swallowed his car keys while vacationing in Barcelona and pleaded for help inside a supermarket — but he died because no one could understand what he was saying.

The 37-year-old tourist, whose name was not revealed, entered the store in the Sarria district of Catalonia’s capital about 10:15 p.m. Aug. 5 in a state of distress, The US Sun reported.

He was "in an evident state of excitement and causing altercations," according to the outlet, which cited a 20 Minutos report.

Workers notified the municipal police force Guàrdia Urbana, whose officers had to intervene and restrain the man, who soon collapsed outside.

Police tried to resuscitate him before the arrival of medical personnel, who discovered that he had the keys lodged in his throat.

The paramedics removed the keys and rushed him to Sant Pau Hospital, where he died the following morning.

It was unclear if people could not understand him because he was speaking Dutch or if he could not communicate clearly because of the items in his throat, according to the report.
Important safety tip: Don't do that.

‘Evil Is Real': North Carolina Police Officer Pens Heartfelt Resignation Letter To Community Amid ‘Unprecedented' Exodus From Force
[WIRE] A former police officer in North Carolina’s Asheville Police Department (APD) both admonished and apologized to the community he served in a heartfelt resignation letter published last week in the local newspaper.

Justin Wilson, who served as a community resource officer for 10 years with APD, explained in an Aug. 21 email sent to neighborhood groups he worked with that he was moving to Colorado to begin a new career because his law enforcement job "has taken a toll on my personal life," the Asheville Citizen-Times reported.

Wilson also expressed regret for not having offered his community "more safety and protection" but maintained that police are being expected to stem the tide of social problems that can only be solved by "strong communities." He further urged Asheville residents to remember that his fellow police officers, who he said "are good people with good hearts," are confronted with real evil that is "not within our capacity" to curb entirely.

Afghanistan
Afghanistan’s $1000 billion worth of natural assets in Taliban’s custody
What the Taliban will be letting China extract:
[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan is rich geography when it comes to mines and natural resources. Some of these mines are ready to be excavated while others are being mined illegally. So we can surely claim that this geography still possesses a vast amount of intact mines and natural resources which amount to nearly $3 trillion.

Based on a geological investigation conducted ten years ago in the US, it has been estimated that the total worth of Afghanistan’s mines and natural resources is USD1000 billion.

The most important natural resources of Afghanistan are as follow, gold, silver, and plutonium, a vast amount of uranium, tantalum, bauxite, natural gas, salt, metal stone, copper, silver, chromium, tin, talc, sulfur, coal, barite, and zinc. Since there is a scarcity of these resources around the world, they have attracted special attention of the globe to Afghanistan.

'Civil rights activist' Shaun King announces new fashion line
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Shaun I do be black! King
...a Wannabe Negro black activist. Really. He's black. Just look at his haircut. They need his leadership! You're supposed to be intimidated, even though he looks like a dweeb....
took announced on Wednesday that his fashion startup "A Real One" would begin selling 'limited edition' t-shirts and hoodies to his 'community.' The grifter pastor turned 'civil rights activist' enters the fashion business with a series of lingering controversies and failed ventures swirling around him. After a much-fanfared revival of Frederick Douglass's abolitionist newspaper, "The North Star," crashed and burned in part due to his alleged "radical incompetence," King rebranded as a 'crusader' against racial justice.

He raised millions of dollars in the name of Black Lives Matter, but not without serious questions about where that money went. He also faced questions about his own racial identity that earned him comparisons to Rachel Dolezal, and condemnation from some of the families he was purportedly helping.

Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
campaign surrogate claims that "A Real One" has been in development for over a year, but at the time of writing has not uploaded any designs or concept art to the page, which has since amassed nearly 77 thousand followers.

The announcement came shortly after it was revealed that King had moved into a luxurious home in North Brunswick, New Jersey, with his family.

This has prompted a resurfacing of allegations, and controversies surrounding Shaun King, journalist Ernest Owens took to Twitter to lambast the 49-year-old activist as "The Grifter Who Stole Christmas."

Afghanistan
Rozhin: Everything is relative
Direct translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] "I think the Biden administration should realize that, based on current trends, history will judge that the USSR managed to get out of Afghanistan better than the USA" - Karl Bildt

When Soviet troops left Afghanistan after 10 years of war, I was 8 years old. Of course, it is difficult for me then to realize the scale and consequences of those events. In subsequent years, I often heard that everything was in vain, that everything crumbled and collapsed, and the "Afghans" themselves were belittled in every possible way, and even now, in some kind of a cinema from domestic bunglers, they are not, no, and they are kicked, they say, not for that they fought.

In light of what is happening now in Afghanistan, you understand very well that when the Soviet army left Afghanistan, it left behind not a void, but a fully capable state, which for 3 years under conditions of international isolation waged a war against the bearded men sponsored by the United States, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and a number of other countries, even when Gorbachev and Yeltsin curtailed support for the Najibullah government. And the DRA army did not disperse in a couple of weeks, but fought quite successfully for itself, until it was ruined by internal conflicts and the betrayal of commanders, including the notorious Dostum, who is now sneaking into Uzbekistan.

For 10 years, the Soviet Army provided the conditions for the existence of a full-fledged Afghan secular state, which existed for 3 years even in conditions of war and isolation.

In contrast, we see how, after 20 years of occupation of Afghanistan by US and NATO forces, the pro-American regime in Afghanistan is crumbling even faster than the American troops can withdraw. And the main thing that leaves behind the United States is a country full of bearded figures and the largest heroin industry. When the USSR left, it left behind the state, schools, hospitals, factories, roads, bridges, tunnels and a secular society.

The difference is more than merely obvious. The warriors-internationalists in Afghanistan fulfilled their duty and provided opportunities for the existence of the Afghan state, which for a short time even survived the collapse of the USSR. The American army was unable to solve the problem of survival of the puppet regime, completely repeating the scenario of South Vietnam.

So in these days of the shameful collapse of the United States in Afghanistan, I would like to say, among other things, that the men who were doing their duty in Afghanistan did their job well. It is not their fault that the results of their labor were leveled out by the leaders who destroyed the country and left the DRA to its fate.

Everything is relative. I believe that assessments of the results of the 1979-1989 Afghan war in the light of what is happening now in Afghanistan should undergo a certain revision, and the merits of the internationalist soldiers should receive additional coverage and perpetuation.

Many Feared Killed as Violence Erupts in Jos
[THISDAYLIVE] No fewer than 18 persons are feared killed in Jos, Plateau State on Satuday morning following an outbreak of fresh violence along Rukuba road axis of the city.
I have no idea where it is
Nigeria.
THISDAY gathered that corpses numbering at least 18 were conveyed in two Hilux vans from the crisis spot to Plateau Specialist Hospital mortuary.

Though the violence has been quelled by Soldiers drafted from the Special Task Force (STF) on security, the city is still enveloped in palpable fears and tension.

In the past two days, the Irigwe youths had repeatedly announced that they were conveying the corpses of their slain members for burial in Bassa on Saturday. They had set out in a convoy for the burial on Saturday morning when violence broke out along the way at Rukuba road.

As they went with the corpses, they met some vans conveying some Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
along their way. The Fulani reportedly claimed they were commuters from Bauchi, but the angry youths challenged them seeing that Rukuba road does not connect Bauchi highway. They suspected that they may have come to attack them at the burial ground.

The youths allegedly pounced on the Fulani, injured some and killed others before the security agents could reach the spot. The violence began to escalate before the security agents arrested it.

Reacting to the fresh violence, the Governor of the state, Simon Lalong condemned the killings, especially as it involved innocent commuters, and immediately directed security agencies to swiftly identify and arrest the perpetrators while dominating the area to restore calm.

In a statement signed by his Director of Press, Simon Macham reads in part: "Governor Simon Bako Lalong has warned trouble makers bent on fomenting trouble in Plateau State to desist as the government will not allow any form of lawlessness to disrupt the peace of the State.

"Lalong said the attacks on innocent citizens no matter their backgrounds will never be tolerated in Plateau State and those who are found to be behind such attacks will be dealt with decisively to serve as deterrence and restore public order.

"The Governor however commends security agencies for their immediate response leading to the arrest of some suspects and the restoration of calm to the area."

The Governor also commiserated with the families of those affected, and assured all law abiding citizens that security had been beefed up around the area as well as the entire metropolis to forestall further breach of the peace.

-Great Cultural Revolution
A DOD Official Exposes The Intellectual Bankruptcy Of Diversity
[American Thinker] It is rare that U.S. Department of Defense officials, blinded by their zealous pursuit of the latest variant of U.S. military diversity policy, reveal that policy’s intellectual vacuousness. Recent comments by the Navy’s top, uniformed personnel officer, however, did just that, exposing the Pentagon diversity policy’s intellectual bankruptcy and providing a focus for those who, following their commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law, genuinely believe America’s sons and daughters in uniform deserve the best leadership available.

On August 3, 2021, VADM John Nowell, Jr., Chief of Naval Personnel, made public comments arguing for reinstating the use of photographs in selection boards, justifying that position by saying that not using photographs is hurting "diversity." He lamented that the Navy’s recent "data" (accumulated after the policy had been changed so it no longer included official photographs in personnel files the promotion boards used) show the new practice has hurt "diversity." Rather than acknowledging that such evidence proves "diversity" policies undermine meritocracy in the military, Admiral Nowell’s further comments revealed the dishonest disregard for objective evidence and truth that pervades the pursuit of anti-white, racial discrimination in the name of "diversity" in our military.

He said, "It’s a meritocracy. We’re only going to pick the best of the best, but we’re very clear with our language ... that we want them to consider diversity across all areas. Right?" "And therefore ... I think having a clear picture on this just makes it easier. So, actually, our data show that it would support adding photos back in."

Admiral Nowell also said, "I think we should consider reinstating photos in selection boards." "We look at, for instance, the one-star board over the last five years, and we can show you where, as you look at diversity, it went down with photos removed." (Emphasis added)

So, the Navy’s data show that when "color-blind" promotion boards do not use photos, they select the "best" — but that these results differ (fewer minority selectees, i.e., "diversity ... went down") compared to the selections (more minorities) when promotion boards do use photos that show candidates’ skin color (facilitating the use of racial preferences).

The Navy’s data are strong evidence of the negative effect that using racial preferences has on meritocracy and therefore the quality of the selection board outcome. Shockingly, that conclusion apparently escaped this 3-star flag officer whose job is to oversee Navy personnel policy. Ever true to the mantra that diversity policies never lower quality or involve lowering standards to make minorities "more successful," he predictably claims the process, when influenced by photo-enabled racial preferences, is still a meritocracy.

Admiral Nowell’s explanation of the Navy’s data proves that "diversity" (when considered by a promotion board) means "racial preferences." Would he admit that considering "diversity" (race) in a promotion board is, in practice, the extension of racial preferences? Not likely. Just call it "diversity." That places the topic beyond the reach of critical thinking (and legal) analysis and discussion.

Afghanistan
Canada to resettle 20k Afghans threatened by Taliban
[KhaamaPress] Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau
...hereditary prime minister of the same country that once produced McKenzie King...
announced that the ongoing deteriorating situation in Afghanistan and the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
together threatens Afghans, thus there will be a resettlement program for up to 20,000 Afghans.

The government of Canada has expressed its deep concern over the current state of Afghanistan and is trying to provide the vulnerable Afghans with safe places to live.

The announcement comes only hours after the Taliban grappled control over Afghanistan’s 18th province which brought the total geography of the fighters to more than half of the war-battered country.

Canada’s new plan not only includes 20,000 new visas for Afghans who have been forced to flee Afghanistan or are at risk of being killed by the Taliban but also for the Afghans who have already been seeking asylum in the country.

As per the new program, visas will be issued to the refugees who are sponsored by the government or privately and also by those families who have been living in Canada.

The decision over resettling Afghans comes a day after Canada announced to deploy additional troops to Afghanistan to secure the evacuation of its staff from the embassy in Kabul.

As the situation is getting worse with the passage of every single day, Afghans are striving to find any possible way out of Afghanistan to secure their lives.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, Bart was wondering if fisticuffs would be appropriate at this point...
nearly 400,000 thousand people have been displaced internally in the past two months.

At least 20 people dead, several injured after fuel tanker explosion in Akkar
Tank. not Tanker
[Sputnik] According to the Lebanese Red Cross, 20 people have died and 79 were injured in an explosion of a fuel tanker early on Sunday in Akkar, in northern Lebanon.

The blast was said to have occurred in the Tleil area of the Akkar district. According to first reports, in particular one by Al-Arabiya, more than a hundred people were injured in the explosion.

Ambulances and law enforcement are currently at the site, delivering the injured to hospitals. As the Lebanese Red Cross tweeted, at least 22 medical divisions are responding to the explosion.

[TWITTER]

Courtesy of Frank G, the Jerusalem Post adds:
MTV Lebanon reported on Sunday morning that preliminary information showed that the fuel at the site of the explosion was being collected in preparation for it to be smuggled into Syria. Hezbollah has been accused of smuggling oil from Lebanon into Syria in the past.

In January, an explosion at a gas storage warehouse reportedly used by smugglers injured 10 people. Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported at the time that the warehouse was owned by a person who is close with Hezbollah.

On Saturday, the Lebanese Army had announced that it was searching gas stations and confiscating hoarded fuel, as the country suffers from an oil shortage amid a worsening economic crisis.

Lebanon's Janoubia news reported that the explosion took place in fuel tanks that had been confiscated by the Lebanese Army.

DeSantis Launches Monoclonal Antibody Rapid Response Teams to Prevent Hospital Overcrowding
Doing something useful instead of pointing out well-known problems.
[EpochTimes] Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Aug. 12 that he is launching a Rapid Response Team to dispense monoclonal antibodies to tackle Florida’s rising number of COVID-19 cases and reduce serious symptoms, preventing the potential for hospital overcrowding.

"This is probably the best thing that we can do to reduce the number of people that require hospitalization," DeSantis said at a news conference in Jacksonville, adding that vaccines were strongly encouraged and were effective at preventing hospitalizations and deaths by at least 70 percent.

"Clear benefits to this early treatment is keeping people out of the hospital and reducing mortality," he said.

#1  Monoclonal antibody therapy is little known because of utter incompetence at the state and federal health authority levels dating back to the issuance of the EUA by the FDA starting last November. I sent a query to my state health department asking where these drugs were available, and did not get an answer. Just for curiosity I sent the same query to the SD state health department and got the answer the next day, which was along the lines of "We don't know, contact every hospital in the state and ask them." So at least SD answered my query unlike my own state.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Florida man arrested for threatening to 'blow up' Disney World execs
[NYPOST] A Florida man was arrested on Friday for allegedly making threats against Walt Disney World on Twitter, including that he was going to throw grenades into executives’ homes, authorities said.

Steven Jordan, 31, of Seminole, was taken into custody by Pinellas County law enforcement after a 186-tweet tirade in a three-hour span on Aug. 8, officials said. At least two of the posts were aimed at Walt Disney World.

According to police, the now-deleted tweets said: "@Disney or we will blow up all of your execs houses with C4" and "@Disney I will toss a hand grenade threw their loft window."

Police alleged Jordan also made several threats towards Activision and its executives over the gaming company’s sexual harassment lawsuit.

Jordan’s account was suspended by Twitter on Aug. 9.

Detectives working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement determined Jordan was the owner of the raging account, cops said.

Jordan allegedly admitted to the threatening tweets in an interview, police said.

He was charged with threatening to throw, place or discharge a destructive device. Jordan faced a similar charge in 2019 when he was arrested for falsely reporting a bomb.

He was being held in the Pinellas County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

ISIS leader arrested in SDF, coalition joint operation in Syria's Deir ez-Zor
[NPASYRIA] On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-led Global Coalition forces arrested a leader of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A military source of the SDF said that the SDF and the Global Coalition forces arrested the leader in an airdrop operation at his home.

The source added that the leader was active in planning liquidations and bombings, organizing the work of the sleeper cells and conducting contacts and communications among them.

The forces also found weapons, equipment and quantities of explosives, which he used to carry out operations and supply the sleeper cells with them.

Recently, the SDF and the Global Coalition have intensified their security operations to pursue ISIS sleeper cells in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Two days ago, a leader of ISIS was arrested in the town of Abu Khashab in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

#1  The puppet masters (Soros , Agenda 21, One world government types) are trying their hardest to get us to fight each other...and succeeding. As soon as conservatives fight back they can say.."See, I told you they we're dangerous!" Then the mass round-ups of us will commence - for the country's protection of course.

If we fight each other, we can't stand against an outside force.
They want the Balkanization of the country. Civil war is inevitable now. We're just waiting for a modern equivalent of Fort Sumpter to happen.

Afghanistan
Kabul has fallen, Taliban is killing political leadership and religious minorities in Afghanistan
Courtesy of Enver Clolung1116 in comments yesterday evening.
[EasternHerald] Kabul has fallen. The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
has taken the control of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, after 9 hours of an armed battle between Afghan forces and the Taliban. This was confirmed by a source of The Eastern Herald in Kabul. Since then we are not able to communicate with our journalists in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.

After Kabul has fallen into the hands of the Taliban, the Taliban are now searching every house in Kabul for politicians and oppositions. They have already planned to assassinate the president and other political and religious leaders who don’t accept their supremacy.

#1  Not so much the failure of modern civilization than the success of islam. Maybe if the Afghans learned to see it this way, they'd be happier.

Seriously, if you are unwilling to shuck Allah hoolery in favour of intellectual liberty and freedom of self determination, there isn't much anybody can do for you. Islamics are expecting the modern world to build them socialist utopias while their society can continue to wallow in mohamed's slime. Anybody who can't see that and continues to throw precious resources at them is a fucking idiot.

There is all this talk of saving the earth and the climate and stuff. Anybody ever stopped to consider the costs of these airstrikes? Multimillion dollar warheads and tonnes of HEX to take out handfuls of hydra heads that grow back in a week? The costs in fuel and firepower and just the toil and suffering of men and their families who wasted their lives over there. And for what? So moslems could get a better equipped pad for their moslem festivities? How are regular afghans different, from our perspective, from the black turbans? Why must we worry about their women and their liberals, when they will neevr ackowledge the basic problem is not violence or Pakistani interference, but islam itself.

Christians are prosecuted and persecuted by the 'Democratic Government' of Afghanistan too. A moslem converting to christianity, or somebody preaching the faith can be thrown in jail arbitrarily. Hindus and sikhs were always considered non-threats as long as they do not congregate or play out their rituals. You have to have the mark of the mohameddan beast in your hand and your forehead to even have a life in the free, non-taliban AFG. Religious minorities my foot...

So there is going to be a light brigade with small arms hoping (evidently) to peacefully evacuate our people, contra a geared up Taliban. #20  There's never been any political will to destroy the Taliban after 9/11.

Bush's blustering ultimatum and threat to the Taliban was rescinded semi-quietly by Powell weeks later.

What followed was an aimless, pointless but also bloody and expensive therapeutic intervention whose net result was the importation of Afghan values (and Afghans) into the West.

I'm not surprised. This is the logical consequence of the policy decisions of September/October 2001 who have never been questioned, let alone corrected.

Since the above info another 1000 to be committed but from what branch not sure yet. All 6000 to be in place in 48 hours. US will take over air traffic control. Looks like a very very dangerous mission.

Biden's Afghanistan Predictions Were All Wrong
[FREEBEACON] When President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....
defended his decision to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by a September 11 deadline, the president told news hounds in July that it remained "highly unlikely" the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
would take control of the country.

"The likelihood there's going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely," Biden said. "The Afghan government and leadership has to come together. They clearly have the capacity to sustain the government in place ... there's not a conclusion that, in fact, they cannot defeat the Taliban."

Biden's forecast for the future of Afghanistan, however, has proven completely false. The Taliban has captured several of Afghanistan's largest cities, and experts now believe the terrorist group will target the Afghan capital of Kabul in the coming weeks. The Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
scrambled to call in another 8,000 troops to the region in an effort to rescue both U.S. troops and civilians remaining in the country.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey unveils plan to boost police funding closer to prior levels
[STARTRIBUNE] Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey
...The inept and ineffective (but I repeat myself) Dem class president mayor of Minneapolis during the George Floyd race riots. Frey issued the order for police to evacuate the Third Precinct so it could safely be burned to the ground, and has since dithered, waffled, and obfuscated on a near daily basis. The city is a Dem stronghold, so he'll probably be reelected...
unveiled a budget plan Friday that seeks to restore police funding to nearly the level it was before George Floyd's killing.

The mayor's $1.6 billion spending plan, announced during a virtual speech, includes nearly $192 million for the Minneapolis Police Department, whose fate will come before voters in the November election.

"Following the murder of George Floyd, Minneapolis became ground zero in the debate around the future of public safety and a case study in the dangers of grand pronouncements with little planning," Frey said, referring to a pledge some council members made last summer to work toward ending the department.

He said that while the city has invested in other safety programs, "It would be disingenuous to expect these new, complementary programs to succeed simply by breaking down the work of others."

Frey's 25-minute speech touched on a question that has dogged city officials since Floyd's death in May 2020: If they want to build violence prevention and mental health programs, should they use police funding to do that, or draw from other pools of money?

The mayor's speech kicked off a monthslong budget negotiation process that will finish in December, weeks after the election but before the next class of elected officials is sworn in. Besides increased funding for violence prevention, Frey proposed plans to boost affordable housing and programs aimed at cutting carbon emissions.

Policing, though, is the subject that has captured national attention, as people wait to see whether — and how — Minneapolis will fulfill a promise to transform public safety in the wake of Floyd's murder by a police officer.

Policing and public safety have become central issues in the races for mayor and City Council, and political committees campaigning for and against the replacement of the Police Department have brought in more than $1 million this year alone.

To pay for his spending plan, Frey would rely on a 5.45% property tax levy increase, federal American Rescue Plan funds and cash on hand. The city estimates the levy increase would amount to $140 for an owner-occupied home valued at $297,000, $360 for an apartment building valued at just more than $1 million and $186 for a commercial building valued at $529,000.

The Minneapolis Police Department began 2020 with a budget of about $193 million, an amount that was later reduced amid the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic and a national debate
... an expenditure of personal wind at the national level that leads to face-making and other histrionics but can't be shown to have ever solved an issue ...
on policing after Floyd's killing.

As they settled on spending figures for the police in 2021, Frey and a divided City Council intensely debated whether police funding should be used to increase violence prevention and mental health programs.

They settled on a $164 million police budget for this year — with the caveat that police could access an additional $11 million in reserves if they received approval from the City Council. With that money since released, and American Rescue Plan funding infused, the Police Department now has about $180 million to spend this year.

Michael Yon: The Incentives That Caused a Global Migrant Crisis, from Lithuania to the Darién Gap
[EpochTimes] “They’re dying in that jungle in huge numbers.” Longtime war correspondent Michael Yon has been tracking the migrant crisis from the Darién Gap in Panama to America’s southern border. Record numbers of people from dozens of countries are making the harrowing journey north through the Darién Gap, says Michael Yon, but “almost all of them have no case for asylum.”

On the other side of the globe, the Belarusian regime has weaponized migrants to cause a crisis for Lithuania and the European Union, Yon says.

Michael Yon has been at the frontlines of numerous war zones and major events, including the recent anti-extradition protests in Hong Kong. Now, he’s exploring the many faces of an emerging global migrant crisis.

Hospitals 'overwhelmed' with patients after 'devastating' 7.2-magnitude quake in Haiti
[NYPOST] Hospitals near the epicenter of a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti are "overwhelmed" with patients as Haitians erupted into the streets frantically digging through rubble for casualties.

Among the dead is the former mayor of Cayes, Gabriel Fortune, whose body was found in the rubble of a hotel he owned in the city, which is at the epicenter of the quake, 75 miles west of the capital Port-au-Prince.

There are several other victims under the hotel’s rubble, according to Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste. The newspaper reported four dead and "many maimed in the emergency room" at the main hospital in the city, Immaculee des Cayes.

"We are mobilizing all of our resources to aid the victims," said Prime Minister Ariel Henry in a tweet, soon after the morning quake struck the south of the country.

"I send out my sympathies to the relatives of the victims of this violent mostly peaceful earthquake which has cost many lives and a great deal of destruction."

Jerry Chandler, Haiti’s director of civil protection, told the AP that the corpse count stood at 29 and that teams will be sent to the area for search and rescue missions.

"The situation unfolding in Haiti right now is devastating, and we must do all we can to support the Haitian people today and in the months to come," tweeted New York Attorney General Letitia James.

"My thoughts and prayers are with them and our Haitian communities here in New York"

The chairs of the Congressional Haiti Caucus also expressed their sympathies to Haitians in a statement Saturday.
We have a Congressional Haiti Caucus? Who knew?
"This earthquake could not have come at a worse time for the people of Haiti; the nation is in the throes of a political crisis, the effects of the compounding COVID-19 pandemic, and is still recovering from the disastrous earthquake that hit the island’s southern peninsula more than a decade ago," said the statement.

"We remain committed to championing adequate aid to the region, supporting bilateral relations and policies that will ensure Haiti’s full economic and political recovery, and the emergence of a durable, Haitian-led democracy."

Haiti earthquake death toll rises tenfold to 227, with hundreds missing

[IsraelTimes] Haiti’s civil protection agency says at least 227 people have been killed, with hundreds injured and missing, in an earthquake that shook the Caribbean country earlier today.

"The corpse count from the earthquake has risen to 227, including 158 in the south," near the epicenter of the quake, the agency posted on Twitter, adding that hundreds more were maimed and missing.

Initial estimates said just 29 people were killed in the 7.2 magnitude quake.

Remain-in-Mexico court ruling a win for Texas, Missouri over Biden admin
More on this story from yesterday.
[FOXNEWS] A federal judge on Friday ordered the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
to "enforce and implement" the Trump-era Remain-in-Mexico policy in response to a lawsuit from Texas and Missouri, which claimed that the administration’s attempt to terminate the policy was illegal and harmful.

The two Republican states had sought a preliminary injunction against the administration’s June 1 memo formally ending the policy -- officially called the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP). They argued that the ending of the policy was in breach of the Administrative Procedures Act (APA).

The ruling by Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, orders the Biden administration "to enforce and implement MPP in good faith" until it has been "lawfully rescinded" in compliance with the APA, and until the federal government has enough detention capacity to detail all migrants colonists subject to mandatory detention.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
13-year-old arrested for killing classmate at Albuquerque middle school
[NYPOST] A 13-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly fatally shot a classmate at their Albuquerque middle school on Friday, authorities said.

The shooting was a "lone incident" in which one student shot another in the schoolyard during lunch break at Washington Middle School, Albuquerque Police Department Deputy Commander Kyle Hartsock said in a presser.

A school resource officer was able to "de-escalate the situation" and apprehend the gunman, police said. No other students were maimed.

Police are looking into how the shooter — who wasn’t immediately publicly identified — got the weapon, local reports said.

"It’s just a terrible day for APS. It’s a terrible day for this community," Scott Elder, superintendent of Albuquerque Public Schools, said.

Elder thanked the brave staff of the middle school for protecting the children during and after the shooting, saying they "showed tremendous courage and strength in keeping the other students safe and calm and got them out safely to their families, especially our school resource officer who ran towards the event and tried to help."

There will be no classes on Monday, Elder said, however, staff will be "working with counselors and therapists to help prepare so that when the children return we’ll be equipped to handle them and their concerns in coming back to the school."

One neighbor told KRQE 13 he heard about six gunshots ring out while students were outside in the schoolyard.

"Here we are 10 minutes later and there’s cops everywhere," Ross Rader told the outlet. "I’m frightened right now ... We’ve been experiencing a lot of crime on this block recently."

According to KRQE 13, parents and students said there was a fight at the school on Thursday, but it is unclear if the students in the shooting are the same involved in the argument.

The New Mexico Public Education Department released a statement in response to the shooting, calling it a "horrendous day" for the state.

"Today’s tragic event at Washington Middle School in Albuquerque means the terrible scourge of school violence has landed on our doorstep. While many details are still unknown, we do know that shots were fired, that a child is dead, and that someone is in jug."

"The senseless and violent mostly peaceful death of a child in our protection is, indeed, the worst," the statement said. We share in your grief and pain as we once again are called upon to reflect on our failure — as adults and as a society — to protect and preserve the lives and health of our children."

IDPs angry as Borno govt plans reintegration of 1,000 'repentant' Boko Haram fighters
[PUNCHNG] The decision by the Borno State Government to reintegrate over 1,000 repentant Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
fighters into society has generated annoyance by some Internally Displaced Persons in the North-East.The IDPs’ anger is based on the fact that they are still languishing in pain and sorrow caused by the activities of the Boko Haram holy warriors in the North-East, particularly in Borno State, the epicentre of the insurgency.

Since its campaign to create an Islamic caliphate started around 2009, the Boko Haram sect has reportedly killed over 70,000 people and displaced about 2.5 million people, according to estimates by the International Crisis Group.

Of the displaced, at least 250,000 have reportedly left Nigeria and fled into the neighbouring countries of Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, Chad and Niger, though Borno State has started receiving some repatriated refugees from the countries.

Military onslaught on the holy warriors has reportedly led to the deaths of many of the krazed killers, while some of them have reportedly surrendered to the army.

In the latest development on Tuesday, the Nigerian Army in a statement by its spokesperson, Onyema Nwachukwu, announced that no fewer than 1,000 Boko Haram and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
West Africa Province (a Boko Haram offshoot) members had laid down their arms and surrendered to the troops.

"All surrendered holy warriors will be received, processed and passed on to the relevant agencies of government for further assessment in line with extant provisions," excerpts from the statement read.

Texas makes paying for sex a felony
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] As of Sept. 1 2021, it will be a felony in Texas to pay for sexual services of any sort.
Does that include jewelry, movie + dinner?
The bill, titled House Bill 1540, passed unanimously on Thursday and was signed into law by Republican Governor Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
Sandra Guerra Thompson, the director of the Criminal Justice Institute at the University of Houston Law School, summarized the rationale behind the new law.

"This law is a rethinking of the traditional supply side in prosecutions that tended to target the women who were involved in these activities and not the buyers. It's also coming from a growing awareness that oftentimes, those involved are from a vulnerable class," Thompson said, according to The Hill.

The law appears to be modeled on what has previously been dubbed the Nordic model, which was first implemented in Sweden. Under this model, hookers prostitutes sex workers
...the oldest profession was legal (though not always unregulated) for thousands and perhaps even millions of years. That never has made it something most people want their daughters doing...
are not criminally liable, but their customers are.

The debate continues to rage worldwide over what the legal status of sex work should be.

Kathleen Kim of Loyola Marymount University Law School strongly disagreed with the new Texas measure, saying, "Putting individual 'johns' in jail will do absolutely nothing for victims of trafficking."

"In fact, it harms them because evidence demonstrates that the more resources that go into law enforcement approach, the more that victims lose because resources that ought to be going towards things like victim benefits, social services support, and legal advocacy, is still unavailable and maybe even diminished because more resources are going toward a dominant criminal enforcement approach."

Afghanistan
Afghanistan veterans are 'riveted in horror' by Taliban's 'faster-than-expected' takeover
[NEWS.YAHOO] As Afghanistan continues to fall to the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
at a "faster-than-expected" pace, those who served in the war are reportedly "riveted in horror" watching the krazed killer group make gains, and immensely frustrated by the withdrawal that's threatening to undo their 20 years of work, The Washington Post reports.

"It makes me angry, really angry," said Tom Amenta, a retired veteran who was originally deployed in 2002. Afghanistan "has never had a clean solution," he told the Post. "But now that it's gotten hard, we're just going to bounce? It doesn't make it right."

The United Kingdom's Foreign Affairs Select Committee Chair Tom Tugendhat, who also served in Afghanistan, called the withdrawal "wasteful and unnecessary," adding that it's as though the rug has been pulled out from under the Afghan government.

"It's just frustrating," lamented Army veteran John Whalen. "We knew that this would happen. Now, all the people who went and served, are like, 'Why did my friend die?'" Whalen told the Post he asks himself that question, too.

Scott Novak, a former Army medic, added that, as the situation progresses, there's a "lingering sense of sadness" amongst his military friends. "No one's saying, 'Hey, you know, at least we did something.' There's just nothing to really show for it," he explained. "And so, everyone's kind of angry and wondering, why? Why were we even there?"

#1  I am also horrified.

Back in 2001 it seemed that a nationalist govt would provide stability. By 2002, it seemed the Taliban military presence was almost completely gone but they came back and by 2010 the Taliban were a major threat that took 100k American soldiers to defeat. But the defeat wasn't for long and by 2015 or so it was a stalemate with about 10k American soldiers. Trump brought the American force up to about 15k in 2018 but the stalemate continued.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
With flaming Star of David and swastika, Palestinians protest illegal outpost
[IsraelTimes] Explosive device set off as Beita residents mark 100 days of protests against Evyatar, which have cost at least 7 lives.

Paleostinians protesting against an illegal Israeli outpost in the West Bank on Saturday evening set fire to a Star of David combined with a swastika.

Images posted on Paleostinian media showed the makeshift construction and dozens of torches being prepared for nightly demonstrations near the West Bank town of Beita. Later, footage showed the structure set on fire.

The protests against the outpost, known as Evyatar, built on a hilltop overlooking Beita, have continued despite settlers leaving the hilltop.

Israeli authorities cut a deal with the settlers last month. In exchange for them leaving the area, the makeshift buildings they installed will remain in place, and the IDF will turn the area into a makeshift base. Over the next several months, the Defense Ministry will survey the land to determine its status and see if it can be legally transformed into a formal settlement.

In recent months, at least seven Paleostinians have been killed by Israeli troops during violent mostly peaceful festivities near the outpost.

After dark, Paleostinian "night confusion units" would shine lasers, chant slogans, burn tires and set off makeshift bombs in an attempt to irritate the hilltop’s residents.

The tactic was borrowed from a similar strategy used by Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
-based terror groups along the border fence with Israel.

The protests on Saturday marked 100 days of demonstrations against the outpost.

Along with the swastika and Star of David, footage reportedly from Saturday’s demonstration also showed Paleostinians setting off a large bomb in the area.

There was no immediate statement from the Israel Defense Forces on Saturday’s protests.
