[DailyBeast] Two high-ranking Russian military officers have been caught shit-talking Kremlin leadership in unimaginably colorful language. The two colonels blast the defense minister and lash out at that “motherfucker” Vladimir Putin for his poor strategy in Ukraine, according to a leaked recording of a phone conversation.
While Western and Ukrainian intelligence agencies have routinely reported on plunging morale among rank-and-file Russian troops fighting in Ukraine, many of whom have been heard complaining of dysfunction in intercepted communications, the latest audio appears to be the first to expose frustrations among high-ranking officers.
Radio Free Europe’s Ukrainian service published the curse-laden recording late Monday, reporting that it was provided by Ukrainian intelligence. One of the men heard in the purported intercepted call—identified as Colonel Maksim Vlasov—is no stranger to the eight-year war in Ukraine’s Donbas. He has been wanted by Ukrainian authorities since 2018 for the 2015 shelling of Mariupol—an attack in which he previously implicated himself by carelessly blabbing about it by phone in an earlier intercepted phone call covered by Bellingcat.
The latest recording, dated April 14, is said to show Vlasov and another colonel, Vitaly Kovtun, a doctor at the Naro-Fominsk military hospital said to hold many military honors, raging against the many failures of Putin’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.
They both express particular ire for Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
“There are horrible losses of our guys, fuck. And you know, I am familiar with military history a bit, and I compare this to the fucking Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. It’s fucking one and the same,” said Vlasov, referring to a war in which the Soviets are estimated to have lost 126,875 troops.
He goes on to take aim at Shoigu, whom he describes as an “incompetent fucking layman.”
“He’s a layman in his work. This is not his fucking thing. He’s just a fucking showman,” the man identified as Vlasov says.
Kovtun responds in kind, saying, “Shoigu is fucking shit. [There are] no contracted forces. Of course not! Why would there fucking be? They paid them 30,000 rubles [$490], where are they going to get contractees?”

It served its purpose. It was a meatgrinder and now the Ukrainians pulled back. We will see how the Russians can get across the river in the western side of the city. So far they have fucked up 2 crossings to the northwest and I don't have a lot of faith in them successfully completing a 3rd.
Currently the Russian forces there will need a break as they have been make combat ineffective so there may be a pause for a while.
Meanwhile a Ukrainian counter offensive is going off in the south Velyka. We'll see how well it will go, but they have put some holes in the Russian lines so far. Time will tell if the Ukrainians will sustain it.

After flailing and failing to capture Kyiv and Kherson, the Orcs shifted to trying to take Severodonetsk, Lysychansk. After being stalled the flailing Orcs then decided to concentrate on Severodonetsk. 20% of Severodonetsk as still not fallen but the failing orcs are taking catestrophic casualties.
#5
I find it interesting that Russians think by simply occupying Severodonetsk that the war is over and that they can simply incorporate it into Russia, The Ukranian have mobilized hundreds of thousands that are being trained now and outfitted. The Russians are spent and the war is far from over. The Ukrainians with Western Financial and Military Support and determination could prevail in the long run.The Russians would need to create some sort of Strategic defeat for the war to end. For Russia to win they would need mass mobilization, reconstitute and refit their army which would take a year or years to accomplish, The war as fought now is far from over and currently favors the Ukranians.

^ This pessimistic (as to Ukraine's chances of avoiding a complete rout in the Donbas in coming days) is the view of most of the German and French, and probably American, military establishments. Especially those analysts who understand the role and usage of artillery.
I'm told many of the Israeli military analysts hold this view as well.
#7
General Roland Kather: "Ich denke, sie werden sich mit dem Donbass – wenn sie ihn unter Kontrolle haben, und nach meiner Auffassung ist das nur noch eine Frage von Tagen, bestenfalls Wochen"
The French see the same rout in the making. Everyone sees the parallels with 1914-1918... except in this case the Russians have vastly more firepower.
It's also clear that the Ukrainians are isolated, trapped and reduced to throwing under-resources, untrained, inexperienced old men and kids into the meat grinder. We are seeing mutiny after mutiny after mutiny. This too is reminiscent of Workd War One.

Actually, even more Ukrainian units are mutinying. Here are four more units that have posted videos laying out their grievances and their demands of their leaders.

- the 30th Mechanized Brigade 3rd Battalion 9th Company
[NY Post] The White House said Tuesday that President Biden does not support a Canada-style ban on handgun sales in the wake of a pair of mass shootings last month — the latest example of administration members having to clear up their boss’s remarks.
"We’ll leave it up to other countries to set their policy on gun ownership," Jean-Pierre said during her regular briefing. "The president has made his position clear: The United States needs to act. As I just laid out, he supports a ban on the sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and expanded background checks to keep guns out of the — dangerous hands.
"He does not support a ban on the sale of all handguns, to answer your question," the press secretary added in response to Fox News’ Peter Doocy, who had asked: "Canada is making it impossible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in that country. Would President Biden ever consider a similar restriction on handguns here?"
The White House said President Biden does not support a Canada-style ban on handgun sales.
One day earlier, Biden appeared to suggest there should be restrictions on the 9mm pistol — the most popular handgun in the US.
"They said a .22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it out — may be able to get it and save the life," the president told reporters outside the White House on Monday after visiting the site of a mass shooting in Texas the day before. "A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body.
"So the idea of these high-caliber weapons is, uh, there’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of thinking about self-protection, hunting," added Biden, implying the pistol is a "high-caliber weapon" despite not being characterized as such by most gun experts.
At the same time, Biden admitted that he could not take sweeping executive action to solve gun violence, saying: "I can’t dictate this stuff. I can do the things I’ve done and any executive action I can take, I’ll continue to take. But I can’t outlaw a weapon. I can’t, you know, change the background checks. I can’t do that."
Any gun reform legislation faces a steep climb to pass in Congress — particularly in the evenly split Senate.
Last week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Republicans are open to reforms that "directly" address the facts of the mass shooting in Texas, which authorities say was committed by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos with a legally purchased AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle.

They have to clean up his gaffs more than they have to clean his diapers.
It’s a waste of time for poor President Biden to host anything — strictly kabuki for the rubes. This is an FDA non-execution issue. The FDA belongs to the Department of Health & Human Services, currently headed by former congressman Xavier Becerra, who clearly does not want to be connected to this debacle.
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden will meet infant formula manufacturers on Wednesday in an effort to solve ongoing supply chain problems, almost four months after the product first started disappearing off shelves.
The White House said Biden would host a roundtable with leaders of manufacturers ByHeart, Bubs Australia, Reckitt, Perrigo Co. and Gerber.

I have thought something similar NN2N1. 5 year sunset clause in all laws passed by congress. Can be pushed to 10 years with a 2/3 vote. If it was a good(ish) and useful law, it will be brought back later. Otherwise it dies at its appointed time.
[ConservativeTreehouse] There is very little that surprises me, but this is completely stunning. An FBI whistleblower came forth to inform Rep Jim Jordan and Rep Matt Gaetz that the FBI maintains a workspace inside the law firm of Perkins Coie. {Direct Rumble Link}
In response to a letter sent by Rep. Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan, Perkins Coie, the legal arm of the DNC and Hillary Clinton, admitted they have been operating an FBI workspace in their Washington D.C. office since 2012. Pay attention to that date, it matters.
This is a huge development. Essentially, what is being admitted in this claim is that a portal existed into FBI databases within the law firm that represents democrats. This means access to FBI database searches exists inside the office of the DNC and Clinton legal group. Think about the ramifications here.
CTH has long claimed there was some kind of direct portal link between the Clinton campaign team and the FBI databases. There were too many trails of extracted non-minimized research evidence in the hands of the Clinton team that CTH could not trace to a transferring FBI official. If Perkins Coie operated a portal in their office that allowed them to conduct search queries of American citizens, then everything would make sense. That access portal is exactly what is being claimed and admitted in this report.
The start date of 2012 is important for several reasons, not the least of which is FISA presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer criticizing the scale and scope of unlawful FBI database access going back to exactly 2012. Keep in mind a FISA-702 search, is simply an unlawful FBI warrantless electronic search of an American ("702" represents the American citizen) into the central database -maintained by the NSA- that contains all electronic data and communication.

The FBI will issue the standard refusal to discuss on going operations and methods. The mid-term stakes just went up. The Dems will be paying OT in their ballot generating sweatshops for the next several months. Lots of cheap labor available as they exit the Abbott bus caravan to DC. Be on the look out for more Little Rock obits.

Who scripted Biden's editorial in the New York Times today? Biden is either schizophrenic or else a helpless puppet. Either situation is extremely dangerous.
"We want to see Russia weakened to the degree that it can't do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine" - Biden's Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, April 26, 2022
"The United States will not try to bring about [President Putin's] ouster in Moscow." - President Joseph R Biden Jr., May 31, 2022
"For God’s sake this man cannot remain in power" - Biden in Poland, March 26, 2022
For the world's sake let us hope that this extraordinarily reckless, and foolish man is removed before it's too late.

With all due respect to Mr. Mencken, i.e. none, it wasn't the plain folks of the land that did this. It was the ones who went to Harvard and Stanford.
#12
Who scripted Biden's editorial in the New York Times today?
Yesterday, not “today.” Please check the scripted posts for revealing errors before pasting into threads where they might fit.
The editorial was a staff project. The exact name doesn’t matter. Ditto for the Biden presidency, which is a group project that would not change a whit were he disposed of and replaced by his differently incapable vice president.
it wasn't the plain folks of the land that did this. It was the ones who went to Harvard and Stanford.

My surmise is that the Puppet, with is diminished cognitive ability, has finally noticed his risible status as the Teleprompter President, and that his own comments are corrected almost always by "they" in the White House. This chafes him and he is actually thinking about breaking the deal with the Kalorama Cabal and "being" an actual President. This awakening will be the short precursor to his departure via some ruse of health, or the 25th.
I suspect the Cackle-Jackal is already being asked for her commitment to the Teleprompter Presidency, but doubt she will keep her word five minutes after she is sworn in.

They're too discreet to say so out loud, but the Indian establishment is appalled by and terrified of Biden.
There is no telling what this lying blustering bully has in his mind -- no evidence of any strategy or logical coherence to his statements. He has said three times that he will go to war over Taiwan. He has said repeatedly he aims to kill or depose Putin and reduce Russia to ruins.
Biden is a dangerous lunatic. Next to him, Trump was a model of restraint and sagacity.
#18
^ once you understood Trump as a classical New Yorker (of the city) his behavior made sense. It was the effete pseudo-intellectuals who clutched their fake morals that were 'scandalized' and instituted the November coup.
#19
Imagine if you were the puppet and you realized the puppet master was screwing everything up and you were the one that would get credit in the history books. If you had a moment of clarity you'd be pissed.
#21
There is no telling what this lying blustering bully has in his mind -- no evidence of any strategy or logical coherence to his statements.
The man is progressing down the road to senility, so he also has no idea what he will say next. To be fair, he always was a venal, lying, blustering bully, which is why he lost early in the Democratic primaries the last several times he ran for president. It’s just that this time he really was the best the Democratic Party had to offer, and they cheated in all possible ways to create what looked like a win.
The Indian establishment is right to be appalled, and they should ponder their impulse to support a political party that put forward such a candidate. President Trump may not have been a comfortable president to deal with, but he was goal-oriented, willing to negotiate, and up front about his objectives and the methods he was willing to use to achieve them.
These were my predictions from the fall of 2014 on the possibility of Russian military operations, back in 2014.
I got a lot wrong, but also I got some things right.
I think the war (2022) will end when Putin makes the Dnepr River and seizes the area south of the line running to the west from Kharkov to the Dnepr River.
[Facebook] If Putin makes his move to "annex" Ukraine, he will probably do it in December.
I think it will be a multi axis operation beginning with light infantry company heliborne or paraborne air assaults in several crossings of the Dnepr starting with the Dnepr estuary going north to and ending at Zaparozhe. Crossings at Kherson, Nova Kakhovka and Zaparozhe. Immediately coming up from the Crimea will be at least two airborne divisions, possibly on a straight up road march from Sevastopol.
Then from the east, Putin will "cancel" the Novorossiya drive for independence, "convincing" them that Russian federation is better for them than that nasty, messy independence thing, then move his maneuver divisions west. He doesn't need a contiguous line running across the north, because they are all Russian speaking and generally sympathetic, or maybe just quiet.
I say December because by then the humanitarian crisis in Novorossiya will begin to hit hard, and Putin's "concern" for his Russian speaking tovarishchi will take over his better judgement.
Plus the ground will be hard enough to support his tanks. And he'll still send in his second string. We won't see his front line troops, similar to what he did in South Ossetia.
By then, also most of Ukraine's second and third echelon forces will be immolated by the militias, and all that will be left will be the regular Ukrainian Army, in fortifications behind the Dnepr, being built as we speak. IOW, Ukrainians expect Putin to do this thing.
Despite all his bluster, it will still take the Russian Army two months to move up to the Dnepr River line, even unopposed. By then they will have outrun their supply and will be forced to stop. But they will make the river line.
A foraging army could be an unpopular army.
What happens in the spring: plebiscites and appeals to Russkie Bratya, and the final tally. Putin wins.
This all assumes that oil prices do not collapse, which appears they already have and the collapse will temper for a few months, and then continue. Putin has this one window after the fall rains and before the spring rains.
On a separate note: Did you read how the governor appointed by Piotr Porosheko (the governor's name escapes me at the moment) stating emphatically that the Russian Army doesn't fight in the winter?
Must be Harvard edumacated, I s'pect.

Good analytical rigor and predictive analysis is seldom 100% accurate. Elements which surface however, should be discussed and planned for, to the extent possible. Tactical or strategic surprise is nearly always unpleasant.
[Ukrinform] From a conversation intercepted by the Security Service of Ukraine, it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated a large unit of mercenaries of Russia’s Wagner Group in the east.
As the Security Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram, after the Ukrainian defenders smashed an elite unit, "ordinary" Russian servicemen are now afraid to fight at all.
In an intercepted telephone conversation, a Russian invader complains to his wife that even well-trained mercenaries cannot succeed in performing their tasks.
According to him, "miserable remnants are left" out of the large number of militants sent to the task.
In response, the wife advises him to leave the army.

That is the issue. They weren't well trained. Oh they knew enough to keep some arab peasants beat down, but going against an actual trained army they fail. And fail spectacularly. Just ask the US Army.

#14
DIE WELT: The British secret service says Russia may be getting bogged down in its strong focus on Luhansk and thereby losing control of other areas. Do you think that's wishful thinking?
General Kather: I would shy away from questioning secret services here, but my assessment is different. I think we are dealing with a very clear tactic here: first of all, getting the Donbass under control, but then making the preparations for how things are to go from there. And I assume that everything will then be done to firmly establish the land connection to Crimea, to establish the land connection via Mariupol and the other port cities...
#16
Herr General is correct. Securing Crimea -- absolutely and totally -- is the goal, in support of which all the port cities and the land bridge must be under complete Russian control.
British Colombia is set to decriminalize possession of up to 2.5 grams opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA starting January 31, 2023
While the newest policy does not legalize the substances, for three years drug users 18 and over caught with the substances will not be arrested and charged
The exemption would not apply to airports, schools and members of the Canadian military
The policy comes after British Columbia has become the epicenter of Canada's opioid crisis
Since 2016 there have been over 9,400 deaths due to toxic illicit drugs in British Columbia and a record 2,224 last year

Sounds like a plan to increase the number of overdoses and death. I guess the overdose rate will fall after the death rate picks up. Canadian policy seems to be moving towards eugenics via euthanasia. Maybe they consider death to be herd immunity for life.

Commentary by Russian military blogger Boris Rozhin
[ColonelCassad] 1. Severodonetsk.
Residential development is almost completely cleared. There is a cleanup of the industrial zone and fighting in the area of the Severodonetsk thermal power plant and the Azot plant.
In the coming days, the complete liberation of Severodonetsk and the beginning of the fighting for Lisichansk will be announced.
2. Avdievka.
Fighting north of the village. Troops from the Novoselki-2 area are pressing in a westerly direction. There are fights in the direction of Krasnogorovka. Of course, there are no boilers there - the Avdievka-Orlovka highway allows you to continue supplying the enemy grouping.
Fighting on the southern outskirts of New York.
3. Svetlodarsk.
Fighting in the Novolugansk, Uglegorsk TPP and in the Vozdvizhenka area.
4. Artemovsk.
Battles at Pilipchatino. The enemy is fortifying in Pokrovsky. Reserves are transferred through the city, which rush into battle for the Artyomovsk-Lysichansk highway. Accumulations of APU equipment are being hit.
5. Soledar.
Battles near Novaya Kamenka and Stryapovka. The opponents, by bringing forces of up to two BTGs into battle, continue to try to push our troops back from the Artemovsk-Lysichansk highway in the Belogorovka-Berestovoe area, but, according to him, the route is still under close fire control of our troops and it is impossible to fully use it.
6. Golden.
Fighting on the southern outskirts of Zolote.
Cleaned up to 80% of Kamyshevakhi.
Fighting in the Installation area and west of Toshkovka. The enemy is trying to keep the Lisichansk-Gorskoye road, as well as Vrubovka, under his control in order to be able to defend Gorskoye and Zolote.
7. Krasny Liman.
The forests south of the Krasny Liman were almost completely cleared and the villages near the river were taken. Today we cleared the village. Yarovaya in the direction of Svyatogorsk. The positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Raygorodok are subjected to heavy blows.
8. Izyum.
No major changes. Positional battles at Bolshaya Kamyshevakha, Kurulka and Dolgenyoky.
9. Kharkov.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to leave a number of positions near Tsupovka and retreat to Kharkov after a series of unsuccessful attacks and a long-term fire defeat of the RF Armed Forces, which confidently hold the Cossack Lopan-Liptsy-Ternovoye-Rubezhnoye line.
In general, the “counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” in the Kharkov direction did not bring great success, at the cost of heavy losses, only a number of villages directly on the outskirts of Kharkov were captured, but attempts to build on success and reach the border failed. Similarly, attempts to create a serious foothold on the other side of the Seversky Donets river and to strain the flank of the Izyum grouping failed.
10. Kherson.
Attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to advance in the area of Snegirevka and Davydov Brod ended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with heavy losses in the absence of significant results. Nevertheless, we can expect the resumption of enemy activity in the Nikopol and Krivoy Rog directions.
Odessa, Nikolaev, Marinka, Zaporizhia, Ugledar - without significant changes.

[GALLOP] WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Gallup's Economic Confidence Index measured -45 in May, down from -39 in each of the previous two months. It is the lowest reading in Gallup's trend during the coronavirus pandemic, and likely the lowest confidence has been since the tail end of the Great Recession in early 2009.
Gallup's Economic Confidence Index is a summary measure of Americans' perceptions of current economic conditions and their outlook for the economy. It has a theoretical range of +100 (if all respondents say the economy is excellent or good and that it is getting better) to -100 (if all say it is poor and getting worse).
The latest results are based on a May 2-22 Gallup poll, conducted at a time of record-high gas prices, elevated inflation, government reports of declining economic growth in the first quarter, and a slumping stock market. Low unemployment is a rare bright spot, but employers are still struggling to find workers to fill needed jobs, which is contributing to ongoing supply chain problems.
Gallup has measured Americans' perceptions of the economy on its multiday telephone surveys since 1992, but did so infrequently between 2009 and 2017. It is possible that confidence was lower at some point during those years than it is now.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — California’s first-in-the-nation task force on reparations for African Americans will release a report Wednesday documenting in detail the harms perpetuated by the state and recommending steps to address those wrongs, including expanded voter registration, making it easier to hold violent police accountable and improving Black neighborhoods.
It also recommends the creation of a special office that would, in part, help African Americans descended from free or enslaved Black people in the country at the end of the 19th century document their eligibility for financial restitution.
The report, which runs 500 pages, will be the first government-commissioned study on harms against the African American community since the 1968 Kerner Commission report ordered by then-President Lyndon Johnson, task force Chair Kamilah Moore said.
"I hope that this report is used not only as an educational tool, but an organizing tool for people not only in California but across the U.S. to educate their communities," she said, adding that the report also highlights "contributions of the African American community and how they made the United States what it is despite ongoing oppression and degradation."
Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation creating the task force in 2020, making California the only state to move ahead with a study and plan. Cities and universities are taking up the cause with the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois, becoming the first U.S. city to make reparations available to Black residents last year.

The release of the remaining California and Illinois slaves is long overdue. Everyone else is being released and moving elsewhere, why not the slaves ?

They have one large memory hole out there. Before the Constitution was ratified the former colonies, now independent states, operated under the Articles of Confederation. It was under that governmental structure that the Northwest Ordnance of 1787 was passed. It organized the western territories in which the states of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin would emerge. It barred the introduction of slavery into the new territories. It's all one big grifters game.
Reparations are little more than a great election year gimmick for Liberals, Socialists, and Democrats seeking the fleeing Black-American Voters return. The idea has been a LSD voter gimmick since the 1990's.
With some going off the deep end really expecting this is the year it happens.

How about a report that details what has been spent the last 60 years attempting to right the wrongs of the 150 years previous to 1962? With estimates ranging from $7.2T to $11.2 Trillion. For the 9,360,000+/- (19.5%) Black Americans living below the US Proverty Rate With works out to something between $769,230.76 to $1,196,581.19 per man, women and child alive to date in the Black community.
How about a report detailing the 81% success rate?
How about the 100's of $$$ BILLIONS in private property lost in riots/looting?
How about a detailed crime report showing Black against White/Latino/Asians and on and on. Which in some Serious Felony categories runs 4 and 5 to 1.
How about a 72% single mother with multiple children and fathers family with no male partner present. Being cared for by Taxpayers.
How about a report showing preferred hiring or admissions over more qualified candidates students?
There is a lot more the LSD's don't want to discuss also.
[IsraelTimes] Military says incident south of Bethlehem appears to be a stabbing attempt; alleged attacker dies after being shot, says PA
A Paleostinian woman armed with a knife approached a soldier stationed in the southern West Bank before being shot and killed, the Israeli military and Paleostinian health officials said Wednesday morning.
The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that the woman was holding the knife in her hand as she neared a soldier close to the Al Aroub refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.
The military said that troops responded to the apparent attempted stabbing with gunfire.
The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry identified the alleged attacker as Ghufran Haroun Hamed Warasneh, a former security detainee. The ministry said the bullet entered her body under her left arm and exited on the right side.
No Israelis were maimed in the incident.
Tensions have risen sharply between Israel and the Paleostinians in recent months against the backdrop of a number of terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank that left 19 dead.
The Israeli army stepped up its West Bank activities in an attempt to crack down on the spiraling violence. At least 30 Paleostinians have been killed since mid-March, many in festivities sparked by Israeli raids.
Some were button men involved in firefights with Israeli soldiers, while others took part in violent mostly peacefulfestivities. Still others were apparently uninvolved bystanders.
The Palestinian health ministry said the woman died from a bullet to her torso, identifying her as Ghofran Warasnah. The Palestinians' official news agency Wafa said she was 31.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said she was a journalist who had been imprisoned by Israel in the past.
One wonders what promises are being made to the Palestinians in Arabic out of the third side of their mouths.
[IsraelTimes] State Department front man says Biden to take series of steps aimed at boosting ties to Paleostinians, but admits Jerusalem mission has ’unique sensitivities’
The US is still committed to reopening its consulate in Jerusalem, State Department front man Ned Price said Tuesday, after US and Paleostinian officials told The Times of Israel otherwise.
During a press briefing, Price was asked to respond to a Times of Israel report on Sunday revealing that the Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)

[IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces says troops detained eight Paleostinians suspected of involvement in terror activities during overnight raids across the West Bank.
Two weapons were seized in the town of Bayt Rima in the central West Bank, the IDF adds.
Near Nablus, shots were heard as troops operated in the area, the military says, adding that no injuries were caused.
[IsraelTimes] Court also orders Ahmad Asafra to pay $450,000 to Dvir Sorek’s family; in February he was found guilty, though not present at the time of the attack
An Israeli military court on Tuesday sentenced a Paleostinian man to life in prison for killing an Israeli teenager in 2019.
Ahmad Asafra was handed an additional 25-year sentence and ordered to pay NIS 1.5 million ($450,000) to the family of Dvir Sorek.
Sorek, 18, was stabbed to death near the West Bank settlement of Migdal Oz in August 2019. He was a yeshiva student enrolled in a program known as hesder that combines Torah study with military service. He was not in the military at the time of his killing.
In February, Asafra was convicted of intentionally causing the death of Sorek, as well as a series of security offenses. The main charge is equivalent to murder in the West Bank military court.
The court determined that Asafra was the commander of a Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, terror cell that carried out the stabbing attack. The court accepted the prosecution’s position that Asafra was guilty of the attack, although he was not present at the time of the stabbing.
Another member of the cell, Yusef Zohar, was not present during the attack, but was convicted of a number of security offenses and was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 15 years.
In December, Qassem Asafra and Nasir Asafra were sentenced to life imprisonment for the attack. Qassem Asafra was handed an additional 40-year sentence, and Nasir Asafra an additional 20 years. The pair are cousins; it’s unclear how they are related to Ahmad Asafra.
Qassem Asafra was also convicted of an attempt to kill two Israelis in a 2011 terror attack in Beersheba, for which he had not been caught at the time.
Sorek’s body was found on a road leading to the religious seminary where he was studying.
The attackers expeditiously departed at a goodly pace but were apprehended in the town of Beit Kahlil after a 48-hour manhunt.
The attackers told Sherlocks they killed Sorek due to "the suffering of the Paleostinian people" and "the situation at al-Aqsa [Mosque]," according to transcripts of their interrogation obtained by the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
They planned the murder ahead of time, drove to an intersection and waited for an Israeli to attack, they said.
Nasir Asafra attacked Sorek after he got off a bus, first attempting to subdue him with a stun gun, then repeatedly stabbing him in the chest, he said.
"He tried to defend himself by covering his face and upper body with his hands. Then he remained still and didn’t move and I got into the car," the attacker told Sherlocks.
[IsraelTimes] The Biden administration, the guys that caused the debacle in Afghanistan ...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us... has suspended assistance to Sudan, including assistance related to its normalization deal with Israel, and wants Israel to call out the bloody coup that removed the country’s civilian government last year.
"The United States is not moving forward at this time with assistance originally committed to Sudan’s civilian-led transitional government in connection with its efforts to improve Sudan’s bilateral relationship with Israel," a State Department front man said in an email Friday in response to a query. "This includes wheat shipments and certain development and trade and investment assistance."
Jewish Insider first reported the development.
The front man noted that the US also suspended foreign assistance unrelated to the Abraham Accords, the normalization agreements between Israel and four Arab states, because of the coup. He said the Biden administration expected Israel to join in the call for a return to a democratically elected government.
"Any moves made in this regard by Sudan’s military leaders would not enjoy credibility with the Sudanese people," he said. "We strongly encourage the State of Israel to join us and the broader international community in vocally pressing for Sudan’s military leaders to cede power to a credible civilian-led transitional government."
Sudan’s military seized power last fall, arresting the country’s prime minister. Protesters turned out in force and dozens were killed by security forces in demonstrations.
Israel has not commented on the situation, and a minister in the former civilian government told Haaretz last month that this could be seen as backing for the coup.
The Trump administration in its final months brokered normalization agreements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Bahrain, as well as Sudan. The full agreement with Sudan has yet to come to full fruition because of instability in the country.
The Biden administration, in one of its few areas of agreement with its predecessor, has committed to advancing the Abraham Accords.
"As for the Abraham Accords, as we’ve said, they are a positive development that have had clear benefits for Israel and the region," said the front man, who spoke on condition that he not be named, as is State Department custom. "The United States will continue to look for opportunities to engage with Israel and other countries to normalize relations and expand cooperation."
Mouthing all the right platitudes, but the hands are working in the opposite direction.
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian teen from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber sought to commit a stabbing attack in the Old City yesterday, police say.
In a statement, Israel Police say officers noticed the 15-year-old acting suspiciously near the Damascus Gate entrance. The officers chased the teen through the Old City’s alleyways, eventually arresting him near an entrance to the Temple Mount.
During the chase, the suspect threw away a bag he was carrying. It was later found by officers, with a large knife in it, police say.
Police say that during the suspect’s interrogation "suspicion arose that he intended to carry out a stabbing attack."
[KhaamaPress] The Taliban ...Arabic for students... Foreign Ministry has responded to a recent UN Security Council report by vehemently denying the presence of thousands of al-Qaeda and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain, aka Pak Taliban, fighters in Afghanistan.
According to the UN Security Council monitoring group, al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri ...Formerly second in command of al-Qaeda, now the head cheese, occasionally described as the real brains of the outfit. Formerly the Mister Big of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Bumped off Abdullah Azzam with a car boom in the course of one of their little disputes. Is thought to have composed bin Laden's fatwa entitled World Islamic Front Against Jews and Crusaders. Currently residing in the North Wazoo area assuming he's not dead like Mullah Omar. He lost major face when he ordered the nascent Islamic State to cease and desist and merge with the orthodox al-Qaeda spring, al-Nusra... has renewed his allegiance and loyalty to the Taliban leader in Kandahar.
Several thousand Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) fighters are also present and active in Afghanistan, according to the report.
In response to the UN Security Council report released on Monday, 30th May, the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement, responding that "under Taliban rule, Afghanistan has been prevented from threatening countries in the region and around the world."
The Taliban would not allow anyone or any group to use Afghan soil against other countries, according to the Ministry, and would uphold its anti-terrorism commitments.
The Taliban called for legitimacy in the declaration so that it could report the security situation from Afghanistan to the United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... through a legitimate representative.
However, a woman is only as old as she admits... during the past nine months, the Taliban have not been able to secure Afghanistan’s UN representative, which is still held by the previous administration representative.
Only four countries have accepted Taliban diplomats to undertake diplomatic missions during that nine-month period.
Human rights violations, deprivation of women’s individual and social freedoms, restrictions on the media, and the use of violence and against the people are the key reasons why the Taliban are stuck in such political and economic isolation.
[ToloNews] The US special envoy for Afghanistan, Thomas West, held separate meetings with a number of Afghan figures including politicians, journalists and women activists in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... Some of the politicians who met with West said that overcoming the current Afghan crisis and the formation of an inclusive government were the main focus of the talks.
"The proposal of the High Council of Resistance® and Rescue of Afghanistan and politicians was to continue the Doha negotiation, reach a political path, an interim government, and an election," said Iqbal Safi, a former member of the parliament.
Negotiate with whom, exactly? The Taliban have already taken over, set up their “interim” government, and have no plans for an election.
The Islamic Emirate said the commission of "Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures," will address the concerns of Afghans abroad.
"The Commission of Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures was established for this purpose, to consider the problems of those who have concerns and compel them to return to the country," said Bilal Karimi, deputy front man for the Islamic Emirate.
The US special envoy has yet to make any comment about the meetings with the Afghan politicians, journalists and women's rights activists.
Earlier, West said he met with the chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah ...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president...
The question was asked the other day about where Dr. Abdullah Abdullah might currently be found. This appears to be the answer.
Muhammad Mohaqiq, leader of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan said on Facebook that West had met with the representatives of political parties and members of the Resistance® Council.
The council was formed several days ago by the Afghan political parties that are in Turkey.
"This is a strong signal to the Taliban ...Arabic for students... ... that there should be an inclusive government that can represent the reality of Afghanistan," said Sayed Javad Sijadi, an international affairs analyst.
[KhaamaPress] Several thousand Tehrik-e-Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... Pakistain aka Pak Taliban fighters are reportedly preparing military attacks against Pak government forces on Afghan soil, according to Pak newspapers.
According to the Express Tribune, Pakistain Taliban fighters have assembled in Afghanistan for their long-running struggle against the Pak government, citing a report by the UN Security Council monitoring team on Friday.
According to the report, Pak Taliban fighters make up the majority of foreign combatants in Afghanistan.
The report emphasizes that the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) group benefits the most from the Taliban’s presence in Afghanistan, and that the Taliban’s rise to power has empowered them.
In a 25-page report, the UN Security Council described the presence of several thousand Pak Taliban fighters as a serious threat.
According to a UN report released recently, the al-Qaeda leader has also pledged his loyalty to the Taliban leader.
The report raises concern that the Taliban is once again turning Afghanistan into a terrorist "safe haven."
The Taliban, on the other hand, has refuted the allegations, claiming that no imported muscle are present in Afghanistan.
[KhaamaPress] The Kandahar Provincial Directorate for Propagation of Virtue and Prohibition of Vice has issued a directive prohibiting single women (without male Mahrams) from being transported by the province’s urban transportation.
The Kandahar provincial Director for the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prohibition of Vice, Mawlawi Abdul Rahman, stated in a video released yesterday, Sunday 29th May, that women travelling alone promotes moral corruption.
He ordered Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters to stop taxis and other vehicles that disobeyed the order, adding that they would be punished and held accountable.
The Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prohibition of Vice’s restrictive policies have prompted outrage and has taken a different approach, lately separating men’s and women’s dining halls in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... All of this Ministry’s measures are restrictive on girls’ and women. If women do not wear the hijab, their male parents will be punished, according to one of the ministry’s measures. The Taliban have also ordered the female TV anchors to wear a face mask while performing on air, in addition to observing the mandatory hijab, which considers "no exception".
[Breitbart] A high school in a Chicago is implementing a race-based grading system "to adjust classroom grading scales to account for skin color or ethnicity of its students."
The move is necessary, advocates say, because "traditional grading practices perpetuate inequities," a slide used in a presentation said.
Students, depending on their race, will not be held accountable for missing class, misbehaving in school, or for failing to turn in assignments.
The West Cook News reported on the development:
Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRF) administrators will require teachers next school year to adjust their classroom grading scales to account for the skin color or ethnicity of its students.
School board members discussed the plan called "Transformative Education Professional Development & Grading" at a meeting on May 26, presented by Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning Laurie Fiorenza.
[The plan] calls for what OPRF leaders describe as "competency-based grading, eliminating zeros from the grade book...encouraging and rewarding growth over time." Teachers are being instructed how to measure student "growth" while keeping the school leaders’ political ideology in mind
.
"Teachers and administrators at OPRFHS will continue the process necessary to make grading improvements that reflect our core beliefs," the plan, set to begin in the fall of 2023, says.
The article notes that according to the Illinois State Board of Education, 38 percent of sophomores fail the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
The failure rate was 77 percent for black students, 49 percent for Hispanic students, 27 percent for Asian students, and 25 percent for white students.

Agreed. It seems the LSD's run Metro's are bending over backwards for the desperately needed Black-American Community Vote, that they are losing more and more each election cycle.
Is it to hide their 54+ years of running a Voter Plantation process instead of actual equality?

Yep, if you are of a certain category, even though you stand there with the same piece of paper as others, it is worthless in its standing.
What this is actually is an admission by the 'educators' that they can not 'educate'. Why are we wasting the money? /rhet question - cause its just another form of the protection racket.

I took four years of German in high school; Mrs. Hartmann was an excellent teacher, so last Labor Day weekend I tracked her down and paid her a visit, to thank her and to tell her what an awesome teacher she was. Back in the late 70's and early 80's if a student wasn't doing well, they usually got the proverbial kick in the ass; this happened to me then and in college a few years later. Mrs. Hartmann retired in 2001 and told me the dynamic had changed; if a student wasn't doing well, it's now the teacher's fault, not the student's fault. I got the impression Mrs. Hartmann would have kept on teaching for a few more years if it weren't for this new 'dynamic'.

Call it a "sliding curve" if you will, as opposed to actually teaching. I think it would make more sense and be less racist just to send them back to the cotton fields.

It will temporarily screw over the two remaking white families that have not moved, homeschooled or put their kids in private schools. For everybody else it will mean passing grades for no effort. Drop out rates will not be impacted as most dropouts consider school to be a waste of time. This policy will serve as confirmations. The result will be only bad things. It will be like a Biden policy on a smaller scale.

[IsraelTimes] Emphasizing that "Israel is back in Africa," Foreign Minister Yair Lapid lays out several broad goals for the future of Israel’s partnership with African countries.
"We will cooperate to deliver food security for millions," says Lapid, speaking by videolink to a conference organized by Israel’s embassy in Gay Paree.
"We will coordinate in the fight against terrorism to ensure peace and stability. We will collaborate in high-tech to create opportunities for millions of Israelis and Africans alike. We will cultivate deeper diplomatic ties to cement our historic and deeply-rooted partnership."
The Gay Paree conference on Israel-Africa ties has attracted several French and African media outlets, and is attended by a number of African diplomats.
Israel enjoyed a golden age in its ties with African countries in the 1950s and 1960s, as it offered agricultural aid to sub-Saharan nations that were also taking their first steps after throwing off colonial rule. Relationships crumbled after the 1967 and 1973 wars, as most African countries cut off diplomatic relations.
Today, Israel has diplomatic ties with all but 9 of the 54 African countries, and new wind has been blown into the sails of Israel’s diplomacy on the continent by the efforts of the Benjamin Netanyahu governments and by the signing of the Abraham Accords.
Israel, one of only two non-African nations to share a border with Africa, became an observer to the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... in 2021.
Now, Israel says, it is seeking a partnership between equals, not an aid relationship.
"Israel understands the power of Africa," says Lapid. "And Africa understands that Israel is a force for good."
"In the face of global challenges, countries that cooperative will thrive, while countries that isolate will fall behind," he declares.

The sentence against Canan Kaftancioglu, who leads the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Istanbul, also bans her from running in next year’s legislative and presidential elections.
On May 12, the Supreme Court ...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... of Appeals confirmed Kaftancioglu’s conviction on three counts including over an anti-Erdogan tweet.
Although her sentence was for four years, 11 months and 20 days, party officials tell AFP she may well be released far sooner, as can happen for sentences shorter than five years.
Kaftancioglu, a doctor by profession, played a key role in the surprise victory of the CHP’s Istanbul mayoral candidate Ekrem Imamoglu in 2019 — the first time Erdogan’s party had lost power in Turkey’s biggest city for 25 years.

[Dawn] The government of Pakistain and the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... Pakistain (TTP) have agreed to extend the ceasefire, this time, indefinitely and continue negotiations to find an end to the nearly two decades of militancy in the tribal border region, it has been reliably learnt.
The extension in ceasefire, which was to come to an end last night, indicates significant progress in talks between the two sides in the Afghan capital Kabul, sources familiar with the development said.
Sources told Dawn that the two sides had agreed to extend the ceasefire and continue peace talks following separate meetings with Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund, Acting Prime Minister of the ’Islamic Emerate of Afghanistan (IEA)’ at his office the other day.
These sources said that in his meetings with the two sides, the soft-spoken septuagenarian leader expressed his desire that the talks and ceasefire should be allowed to continue without any cut-off date.
In a subsequent joint meeting, the two sides agreed to extend the ceasefire indefinitely and pursue negotiations to end the conflict that has seen mass dislocation and killings of thousands of people in Pakistain’s tribal region and the country on the lam.
IEA front man Zabihullah Mujahid and TTP front man Muhammad Khurasani had issued statements early this month, announcing extension in the ceasefire till May 30.
No official statement has been issued so far regarding the indefinite extension in ceasefire but Dawn has been able to get confirmation of this significant development.
The development follows days of "intense and extensive negotiations" in the Afghan capital attended by senior level delegations from the two sides that at one point seemed close to breakdown.
IEA’s Acting Minister for Interior Sirajuddin Haqqani ...son of Pashtun warlord Jalaluddin Haqqani, still titular head of the Haqqani Network.... , who is the central mediator, helped bring the talks back on track, sources said.
The GoP, sources said, had demonstrated its seriousness by acceding to some of the TTP’s demands and after the IEA suggested it would be important for confidence-building to move from preliminaries to formal and structured negotiations.
The release of prisoners and presidential pardon to two key hard boy commanders, including TTP Swat ...a valley and an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistain, located 99 mi from Islamabad. It is inhabited mostly by Pashto speakers. The place has gone steadily downhill since the days when Babe Ruth was the Sultan of Swat... front manMoslem Khan, was one such demand.
Compensation for the dead and maimed, enforcement of Shariah regulation in Malakand, withdrawal of military from the borders and reversal of Fata merger into Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were key demands from the TTP side, these sources said.
The Shariah Nizam-e-Adl ...a Pak regulation imposing a system of Sharia. It was implemented in Swar in 2009 with the expected disastrous results... Regulation, 2009 is still operational in Malakand division. The law was enacted following marathon negotiations with the late Maulana Sufi Muhammad.
The GoP, these sources said, had no issue with some of the TTP’s demand, but two major issues remained challenging: the reversal of Fata merger and the disbandment of the TTP as an armed hard boy group.
The GoP delegates made it clear that the merger brought about through a constitutional amendment was not up for discussion and that tribal people were the main, important stakeholders.
The TTP on its part had brought documents containing the commitment made by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah with the tribal people guaranteeing their autonomy in an independent Pakistain.
They were told that the reversal of the merger would mean return to the Frontier Crimes Regulation which was a relic of the British Empire and did not contain anything that could be considered ’Islamic.’ They were asked to identify laws that had been enacted post-merger which they deemed to be in contravention of their customs or the ’riwaj.’
Besides, the 25th Constitutional Amendment that brought about Fata’s merger into KP is pending before a larger bench of the Supreme Court ...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... of Pakistain since March, 2022 on a petition filed by some tribal elders opposed to it.
The disbandment of the TTP is another make-or-break issue, these sources said. The government delegation has made it plain that no gang would be allowed to enter Pakistain territory or operate as such. Options are being discussed and the IEA is fully on-board in this regard.
The next round of negotiations is expected to take place in the second week of June, sources said, with a tribal jirga holding direct talks with the TTP in Kabul.
[OneIndia] The problem of radicalisation in Kerala is debated very often in the Intelligence circles.
The recent incident of sloganeering by a minor in Kerala has put the focus back on the most spoken about subjects in the state-radicalisation. If one closely looks at the manner in which the agencies have worked in Kerala, it is clear that they have given it their all to try and control the menace of radicalisation.
Officials say that they have identified the problem, tracked down the culprits, found their source of funds and even took down social media accounts spreading hate. However all this remains on paper because the political will is lacking or is deliberately lacking, says an official.
Without a political will or backing there is only this much an official can do. The orders to stall or deviate from the investigations come from the political class.
Former officer with the Research and Analysis Wing, Amar Bhushan tells OneIndia that the problem in some of the southern states, especially Kerala is that an official is never given a free hand to operate.
Officials have all the information and if allowed to be used correctly, the problem of radicalisation can be wiped out. However some do not go ahead as they have the fear of being tripped over, he explained.
Another official who did not wished to be named said that the security agencies can go all out considering the information they have, but the politics comes in the way while dealing with such issues especially radicalisation.
Earlier this month, the police in Kerala started the paperwork but haven't done much else after a Moslem boy was seen chanting hate slogans during a political rally last week. The police acted after the Kerala High Court expressed grave concern about children being used in political and religious rallies.
Following the incident that took place at Alappuzha last week, Justice Gopinath of the Kerala High Court said, 'aren't hey fostering a new generation that grows up with religious hatred in their minds? When this child grows up and becomes a major, his mind will already be conditioned to this kind of rhetoric. Something must be done."
The agencies are also looking at whether there are special groups that have been formed by these radical organizations to train children in particular.
These are serious issues officials explain. If such special groups are not acted upon then they will train more children and one can only imagine the nightmare in the future.
The problem with dealing with radicalisation in Kerala is that there are parties which latch on to the support of Moslem dominated parties. This has stood in the way thus making the job for the security agencies extremely difficult, he also adds.

[KhaamaPress] In a new directive, the Director of the Taliban ...Arabic for students... Hajj, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has ordered the preachers at the Ghazni congregational mosques that mentioning the name of Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzadah in the Friday prayer sermon is mandatory.
If the holy mans defy the order, officials from the Taliban Information and Culture Directorate for Ghazni province have warned that they will face serious consequences.
During a meeting at the Hajj, Islamic Affairs and Endowment Office on Monday, May 30, Mawlawi Abdul Manan Madani, the Director of the Hajj, Islamic Affairs and Endowment Office in Ghazni province, told the congregational mosque preachers and mullahs that the Taliban had already provided the text if they delivered a sermon.
The Taliban have issued mandatory orders with threatening warnings against various segments of the population, especially women, during their nine months in power.
The Taliban’s mandate to enforce the hijab, the forced covering of female performers, the denial of girls’ access to education, the torture of journalists, and the intimidation of former soldiers are among the things that have hampered the Taliban’s international legitimacy because they are flagrant breaches of human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... in the eyes of the UN and international community, as well as Human Rights Watch.
[OneIndia] A woman teacher was shot at by turbans in the Gopalpora area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... on Tuesday. She later succumbed to her wounds.
"It happened around 10am. I saw a teacher shot in her head. Another teacher picked her up for help, I informed Police," Gopalpora village head told news hounds.
"We want justice. Govt should do something about assassinations. Security should be given to migrant employees there (Kashmir division)"," said a relative.
"I don't know what to say. She was my sister-in-law & was here 2 months back. She had said everything is fine and there is no threat to her. Suddenly sometime back she had said it was a little fearful. Today it became clear," said another relative of the teacher who was rubbed out.

Three Kashmiri Hindus have been targeted since March this year. Two of them --Satish Kumar Singh and Rahul Bhat, a revenue department employee - were killed in the attacks. The Taliban’s Director of Information and Culture in Badakhshan, Moizuddin Ahmadi, confirmed the report, adding that their air force commander was also participating in the operation.
The Taliban’s allegation of killing four National Resistance® Front members and demolishing of the group’s hideout has elicited no response from the National Resistance® Front.
The Resistance® Front, on the other hand, recently claimed to have killed Taliban fighters in an ambush in Panjshir province.
According to Ali Maysam Nazari, the Resistance® Front’s head of foreign relations, the Front’s forces killed more than 15 Taliban fighters on the outskirts of Panjshir yesterday.
The Taliban have yet to respond to the resistance’s assertion.
Earlier this month, In a statement, Sebghatullah Ahmadi, a front man for the National Resistance® Front, claimed that 22 Talibs had been killed in battles with the front, but local Taliban leaders in Panjshir refuted the claims, claiming that only three had been maimed.
[OpenTheBooks] Who knew that LA lifeguards—who work in the sun, ocean surf, and golden sands of California— could reap such unbelievable financial reward?
It’s time we put Baywatch on pay watch. In 2019, we found top-paid lifeguards made up to $392,000.
Unfortunately, today, the pay and benefits are even more lucrative.
Daniel Douglas was the most highly paid and earned $510,283, an increase from $442,712 in 2020. As the “lifeguard captain,” he out-earned 1,000 of his peers: salary ($150,054), perks ($28,661), benefits ($85,508), and a whopping $246,060 in overtime pay.
The second highest paid, lifeguard chief Fernando Boiteux, pulled down $463,517 – up from $393,137 last year.
Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com found 98 LA lifeguards earned at least $200,000 including benefits last year, and 20 made between $300,000 and $510,283. Thirty-seven lifeguards made between $50,000 and $247,000 in overtime alone.
And it’s not only about the cash compensation. After 30 years of service, LA lifeguards can retire as young as 55 on 79-percent of their pay.

The internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) demined Monday a landmine, engraved with “the State’s Caliphate” in a reference to the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), in a town located northwest of Raqqa, a city in northern Syria.
On their official website, the Asayish said that combat engineers units had demined a 5 kg landmine left by ISIS.
Between January 2014 and October 2017, ISIS controlled the city of Raqqa and its countryside naming Raqqa the capital of the Caliphate.
After fierce battles between ISIS and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Raqqa was liberated in October 2017, but following their defeat, ISIS has left behind too many Explosive Remnants of War (ERW).
Since the beginning of 2021, combat engineers have defused 79 land mines, 87 shells, 365 grenades, 12 explosive belts, and 25 missiles, all were remnants left by ISIS, according to a previous statement by the Asayish to North Press.

[REGNUM] On May 31, the head of the EU mission in Kosovo, Tomasz Šunyog , together with the mayor of Vushtrin, Ferit Idrizi , visited the Serb-populated village of Jobulja.
According to the Albanian news agency Telegrafi, cases of inter-ethnic clashes have become more frequent in the village since the pandemic.
Shunyog spoke with representatives of the local Serb population and stated that the European Union stands for equal rights for representatives of all nationalities living in Kosovo.
[FoxNews] The Biden administration is expected this week to approve sending shorter-range rocket missiles to Ukraine as part of the $40 billion aid package for the besieged country.
The Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), known as HIMARS (High Mobility Rockets System), have a range of 83 to 185 miles based on the kind of artillery rockets and mobile platform being used. There are also wheeled versions of the MLRS that fire 6 missiles and there are tracked vehicles that fire 12 missiles.
MLRS had reportedly been a top request from Ukrainian officials, who say they need it to stop the advance of Russian forces in the east, which has taken control of the key city of Lyman last week.
The approval comes after President Biden said Monday the U.S. would not send rocket systems to Ukraine that could potentially reach into Russia, though he was referring to longer-range ATACMS missiles, which have a range of 185 miles.

Extraordinarily reckless and foolish. This will, at most, merely prolong the war and with it, the Ukrainians' agony. Biden is ensuring that all of the east of Ukraine will be reduced to ruins. The outcome will be the same -- a Russian victory and the loss of a substantial portion of Ukrainian territory. More innocents will die and more people around the world will become poorer or starve.
Just as he did during his Asian trip, Biden's foolish and incendiary behavior is creating chaos and havoc in every situation he touches.

Personally, I think it's a total waste of money as it looks like Ukraine will soon no longer exist as a country. I suspect east of the Dnepr River, will all be part of Russian and West of the Dnepr River will possibly become part of Poland as it used to be.
The first in line is apparently Poland, with Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev baselessly claiming on Tuesday that Poland is moving to seize territories in western Ukraine and accusing numerous unnamed countries of “actively working to dismember Ukraine.” Meanwhile, on Russian state TV hosts and pundits routinely refer to Ukraine as “the territory formerly known as Ukraine” and matter-of-factly discuss how many millions of Ukrainians might have to die for Russia to complete its so-called “denazification.” In his recent interview, Russian State Duma Deputy Defense Committee Chairman Vladimir Shamanov, former Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne Troops, admitted that Russia “was built through territorial enlargement” and named Poland as one of Russia’s main adversaries.
#8
Currently, the Russians are launching attacks on the west Ukrainian railroad tunnel through which fuel and arms enter Ukraine from Poland and the West.
After Donbas, the Russians will focus on taking the final piece of the puzzle, Odesa.
At that point Ukraine will be completely dead economically. The government will have no revenues and will be totally dependent on Congress, and Zelensky (assuming he does not flee and is not deposed in another US-backed coup) will effectively be an employee of the State Department.
It would be prudent to begin negotiations posthaste.
#9
"baselessly claiming on Tuesday that Poland is moving to seize territories in western Ukraine"
baselessly - LOL
Zelensky has essentially removed the border, waiving customs and duties and offering citizenship to Poles. He is inviting Polish soldiers to enter Ukraine and join the fight.
The Poles see their opportunity and are moving aggressively to exploit it.

Immediately after Biden into the White House and brought back Victoria Newland and the entire team from 2014, Zelensky announced his intention to seize Crimea. Throughout the summer of 2021, the Biden administration raised the ante with provocative actions including June 2021's hostile US-UK naval maneuvers right next to the base at Sevastopol itself.
The final straw occurred on November 10, 2021, when Zelensky and Biden signed a formal agreement to seize Crimea. This “charter on strategic partnership” pledged that Ukraine would join NATO and underscored what it called the US-Ukrainian “unwavering commitment” to the absorption of Crimea, and its extraordinarily important Russian naval base, by Ukraine.
The parallels with World War One are obvious.
Putin, like all of the national leaders in August 1914, believed he had to attack before NATO attacked and seized Crimea. Again, Zelensky and the US president had formally pledged their nation's to seize Crimea. The US had been engaging in threatening naval exercises next to Crimea.
In the face of this clear demonstration of both the intention and the capability to seize the most valuable military, strategic, economic and political territory that Russia possesses outside its main two cities, Putin decided that he must attack before NATO attacked and seized Crimea.
The return of Biden and the Maidan coup-plotters, along with Bidens reckless and absurd rhetoric directed personally or Putin, only helped convince the Russians that the new US administration was intent on seizing Crimea.

Considering how Putin has been treating Ukrainian cities, I personally have no problem with Belgorod or Kursk getting the shit blown out of them. See how the orcs like it.

'The Ukrainians have given us assurances that they will not use these systems against targets in Russian territory,'
And if you can't trust the Ukrainians...
Dateline: the near future
In a last-ditch defiant effort, Zelensky raised a defiant middle finger in the form of a long-range rocket attack on Moscow itself. "*Bleep* you, you Russian *bleep*ers.", the President was quoted as defiantly saying.

The Russian tactics are quite different from how they've been presented by the official sources in the West. This American analyst seems to have a more solid grasp:
“It has been assumed that the Russians were trying to generate larger pockets and encircle large numbers of Ukrainians in major ground movements,” the American source said. “The Russians may have adopted a different tactic, one that has been used very effectively by the Israelis ...."
This tactic involves "finding a weak spot, using coordinated artillery, armor and infantry for a small, localized breakthrough and then penetrate behind the local defense and rapidly turn and roll up small pockets of the enemy. This appears to be a deliberate tactical choice by the Russians,” the American source said.
#19
Given the close cooperation between the Russian military and the Israeli Defense Forces, it makes sense that they would share tactical knowledge and advice.
The Israelis have been pounding Hezbollah and Hamas for years, and now they're helping advise the Russians on how to pulverize Azov and the remaining Ukrainian battalions.

Given the close cooperation between the Russian military and the Israeli Defense Forces
Eh? I must have missed that while reading the news from Israel these past many decades, though I admit to having no knowledge of matters military. I understand that in recent years Israel informed the Russian command in Syria when they were about to raid various sites in Syria, but it is not clear to me that it went beyond that.

The Russians and the Israelis are quite close, both culturally and politically. Many Israelis (esiecualky tge wealthy) have dual citizenship. Russian is spoken by a large percentage of the Israeli population.
Most importantly, they share a common realpolitik view of international relations and a fierce devotion to using military force, at times brutally, against their enemies -- regardless of international censure or sanctions.

The joke in Tel Aviv used to be that when a Russian made Aliyah, and he or she did not enter customs at Ben-Gurion Airport carrying a violin case, then he or she must be a pianist.
:-)
The ties between the nations are deep and long standing.
The largest number of Russian Jews now live in Israel. Israel is home to a core Russian-Jewish population of 900,000, and an enlarged population of 1,200,000 (including halakhically non-Jewish members of Jewish households, but excluding those who reside in Israel illegally).[2][failed verification] The Aliyah in the 1990s accounts for 85–90% of this population.
The population growth rate for Former Soviet Union (FSU) immigrants were among the lowest for any Israeli groups, with a fertility rate of 1.70 and natural increase of just +0.5% per year.[3] The increase in Jewish birth rate in Israel during the 2000–2007 period was partly due to the increasing birth rate among the FSU immigrants, who now form 20% of the Jewish population of Israel.
Recalling from Modern Jewish History lessons in Hebrew school, back in the day:
The first waves of aliyah — Jewish immigration to the Holy Land — were indeed from Eastern Europe and Russia starting in 1880 or thereabouts. They spoke mostly Yiddish, loathed Russia, and many were communist or socialist. To them Zionism was as much a back-to-the-land folk movement as it was a Jewish nationalist movement. They established agricultural kibbutzes and moshavs, folk dancing, and eventually decided that Hebrew would be the language of the reestablished Jewish homeland.
The next waves, in the 1930s through the post-WWII period, came mostly from Nazi Europe. Some spoke Yiddish, some the language of their home country, some also German. Committed Zionists from the Americas and the British Empire started joining them after Israel was established in 1948.
Then starting in 1952 or so the Muslim Middle East emptied itself of the Jews who had lived there for millennia — some communities dating back to the time of King Solomon, others to the Babylonian conquest in 586 BC.
For perspective, the population of Israel as of this month is about 9,506,100, 74% of whom are counted as Jewish — so approximately 7,034,500 are Jews. Resident non-Jewish relatives of Jewish immigrants are another few percent — I calculate the FSU immigrants as about 15% of Israel's Jewish population.
An influential group, to be sure, and mostly fond of their former homeland — though not fond enough of it to remain there. They arrived highly educated and highly cultured, and proceeded to transform Israel even before they mastered Hebrew. And yes, they did not at all indulge in the fashionable guilt of the Euro-style labour socialists who had run the country from the 1930s until Menachem Begin’s victory in 1977, another way they impacted the country beyond their raw numbers.
[FoxNews] More than 50 people were shot in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend, including nine fatally, according to police.
Roughly half of the shootings took place on the city's West Side, while the downtown area saw four people shot, according to authorities. There were at least 23 people victims on the city's South Side.
By Monday morning, the number of victims surpassed the number of victims for all of 2021's Memorial Day shootings, when 37 were shot including three fatally, NBC Chicago reported. All in, 51 people were shot over the long holiday weekend.
It was the most bloody Memorial Day weekend for the city since 2017, when 45 people were wounded and seven killed, the Chicago Sun Times reported.
Chicago was braced for a violent weekend and had rolled out Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Police Superintendent David Brown's holiday safety plan, which included officers working 21-hour days and canceled days off to get more officers on the street.

A lot of decent folks live within the 'gang areas', Darth. Impossible for some to leave as the property they bought in the 60's-80's doesn't sell for some reason, even with the barred windows and doors.
Mostly they live towards the back of their residences, avoiding the rooms facing the street.

That would ruin their fun,

Considering they still vote for the same people that allow and help this shit fester, I don't have a lot of sympathy for them. At this point they chose their side and they chose poorly.

Understood, Darth. Unfortunately the voting in a lot of these neighborhoods is a selection between 'machine' candidates and any conservative need not apply as they'd somehow never get on the ballot (or get their votes counted). It's the 'Chicago Way'.
A guy I worked with (and fished with) for years lives in a north Austin neighborhood, and his area used to be fairly decent. No longer.
Recently helped him find some #4 and 00 for his Model 12 (as was almost impossible to find in Chicago area, gun/ammo control and all that).
He's waiting for his wife to retire and then they'll move on. Doesn't care about what the house sells for (or if at all - except for the taxes) at this point.

Then there will be shootings at the funerals and the violence will echo out like waves in a pond from a thrown stone.
The only possible way to make things worse in Chicago would be to involve the UN or Palestinian Authority. I don’t think the shootings would go up but the UN would probably increase trafficking. The PA might start paying stipends to the families of drug dealers shot by other drug dealers. The city would go broke quickly.

Unknown gunmen assassinated on Monday a lawyer in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
Unidentified gunmen, riding a motorcycle, shot dead the lawyer, Abdullah Oqla Abu al-Hayal, in the village of Saida, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, a local source told North Press.
Abu al-Hayal is from the village of Nada in the eastern countryside of Daraa and lives in Saida, according to the source.
In a separate incident, an explosive device exploded in the town of al-Musaifra, in Daraa countryside.
The explosive device targeted Ahmad Imad al-Issa, member of Abu Ali al-Lahham group, an armed group affiliated with the Military Security Branch of the government forces in Daraa, a local source told North Press.
However, al-Issa survived, according to the source.
[Rudaw] Iran ...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both... said Tuesday a report by the UN nuclear watchdog on undeclared nuclear material found at three sites was "not fair".
"Unfortunately, this report does not reflect the reality of the negotiations between Iran and the IAEA," foreign ministry front man Saeed Khatibzadeh told news hounds, referring to the Monday report by the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency.
"It's not a fair and balanced report," he said, adding: "We expect this path to be corrected."
The latest report came as talks to revive a landmark 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and major powers remain deadlocked after stalling in March.
In it, the IAEA said it still had questions which were "not clarified" regarding undeclared nuclear material previously found at three sites -- Marivan, Varamin and Turquzabad.
It said its long-running efforts to get Iranian officials to explain the presence of nuclear material had failed to provide the answers it south.
Iran saw an Israeli hand in the IAEA's findings. "It is feared that the pressure exerted by the Zionist regime and some other actors has caused the normal path of agency reports to change from technical to political," Khatibzadeh said.
Earlier, Iran's representative to the IAEA, Mohammad Reza Ghaebi, said the report "does not reflect Iran's extensive cooperation with the agency".
"Iran considers this approach unconstructive and destructive to the current close relations and cooperation between the country and the IAEA," he said, adding: "The agency should be aware of the destructive consequences of publishing such one-sided reports."
In a separate report published on Monday, the IAEA estimated that Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium had grown to more than 18 times the limit agreed in a troubled 2015 deal between Tehran and major powers.
It "estimated that, as of May 15, 2022, Iran's total enriched stockpile was 3,809.3 kilograms."
The limit in the 2015 deal was set at 300 kg (660 pounds) of a specific compound, the equivalent of 202.8 kg of uranium.
The twin reports came as talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action remain deadlocked after stalling in March.
The agreement gave Iran relief from crippling economic sanctions in exchange for curbs on its nuclear activities designed to prevent it from developing an atomic bomb -- an ambition it has always denied.
But the pact was left on life support when then US president Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... pulled out unilaterally in 2018 and reimposed biting sanctions on Tehran, prompting Iran to begin rolling back on its own commitments.
One of the main sticking points is Tehran's demand -- rejected by Washington -- that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the ideological arm of Iran's military, be removed from a US terrorism blacklist.
[NYP] More than 20 black White House aides have departed the Biden administration since late last year, an exodus some have dubbed "Blaxit," according to a new report.
While some of the departing staffers have left on good terms to pursue additional career or educational opportunities, others have attributed the turnover to a lack of mentorship and opportunity, Politico reported Tuesday, citing nine black current and former White House officials.
"We’re here and we’re doing a lot of work but we’re not decision-makers and there’s no real path towards becoming decision-makers," one current staffer told the outlet. "There is no real feedback and there’s no clear path to any kind of promotions."
"They brought in a ton of black people generally to start without ever establishing an infrastructure to retain them or help them be successful," another current official said. "If there is no clear infrastructure of how to be successful, you become just as invisible in this space than you would be if you were not in it."
Some "people have not had the best experiences and a lot of that has to do with the death of black leadership," a former official agreed. "Think about any workplace. Black folks need some person to go to, to strategize and be a mentor, and we just don’t have as many folks who can be mentors to us."
The first departure of a top black official from the administration came in December, when Vice President Kamala Harris’ senior adviser and chief spokesperson Symone Sanders left to take a hosting gig with MSNBC.

"They brought in a ton of black people generally to start without ever establishing an infrastructure to retain them or help them be successful,"
On a more serious note, there's a certain stage of someone's career where 'mentoring', 'establishing an infrastructure' and all that professional training-wheel bullshit should no longer be necessary. Ever since I've heard these same phrases applied to (current) Vice President Knee-Pads, it's nothing more than the usual leftist whining and excuse making.

[IsraelTimes] Tehran has vowed Dire Revenge for killing of senior Revolutionary Guards officer, prompting Israel to ramp up its air defenses and issue travel warning for The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency issued details on five Israelis it warned could be targeted by Tehran, as the Islamic Theocratic Republic continued to seethe on Monday over the killing of a top Revolutionary Guards official, which it blames on Israel.
Under the headline "Zionists who must live in secret," Fars claimed that the five, their families and colleagues are "under close surveillance day and night" and that many others were potential targets as well.
The news site, citing "internal government sources," said the five were "involved in sabotage against Islamic countries and the liquidation of activists of the Islamic Resistance®."
The named individuals are Amos Malka, a former head of the Israel Defense Forces Military Intelligence Directorate; Amir Levental, a cybersecurity expert; Gal Ganot, a former senior officer in the IDF’s 8200 intelligence unit; Inbal Arieli, a tech executive who is also a former 8200 officer; and Amit Meltzer, another cybersecurity expert.
The agency published photos of the five under the word "Wanted."
Iranian officials have vowed to avenge the assassination of a senior Revolutionary Guard Corps member in Tehran last week, a shooting that Israeli officials reportedly told Washington was carried out by Israeli intelligence.
"The deaders who are murdered by the Zionists are of a much higher status. God willing we will take Dire Revenge against the enemies," Maj. Gen Hossein Salami said during a visit with Khodaei’s family on Monday. Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites.... had indicated it believed Israel or the US were responsible for the killing, but had not previously directly blamed Israel.
Senior Israeli politician Ram Ben Barak denied last week that Israel had taken responsibility for the killing, although he did not comment on whether or not Israeli intelligence had killed Khodaei.
"As far as I know, we did not inform anyone or take responsibility, and that is for the best," Ben Barak, a former deputy head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, told Radio 103FM.
Col. Hassan Sayyad Khodaei was shot five times in his car last week by two unidentified button men on cycle of violences in the middle of Tehran. Israeli media, apparently briefed off the record by Israeli officials, reported that Khodaei was involved in killings and abductions outside of Iran, including attempts to target Israelis.
[Breitbart] The president of the Spanish pharmaceutical company PharmaMar is one of the over 2,200 people listed by Spanish police as having purchased fake coronavirus vaccination documents.
José María Fernández Sousa-Faro, the founder and president of PharmaMar, is one of the over 2,200 people identified as having paid a criminal network to fake their coronavirus vaccination status, following a Spanish police operation known as Operation Jenner.
The 76-year-old was shown in the vaccine registry as having taken at least three doses of Wuhan virus vaccine, investigators stated.
Police say several other high profile names are on the list, including Australian tennis player Álex de Miñaur and Spanish musician Omar Montes.
Police say that the network was able to change vaccine statuses in the Spanish National Vaccination Registry and charged clients cash for the service, the newspaper El Mundo reports.
Fake European Coronavirus Vaccine Passport Sales Surging Online https://t.co/SF8Oe7N7kC
— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) December 3, 2021
According to police, the network facilitating the fake vaccination papers was in operation from around September of last year until January of this year. Operation Jenner also led to the dismantling of a broader network that operated across the European Union.
Forgers are said to have charged different amounts of cash for their service depending on how many doses the person wished to be marked as having received. A total of 15 people, including a nurse and a nursing assistant, were arrested earlier this year in connection with the operation.
The nurses are accused of having stolen the personal access codes of other medical professionals and used said access codes to commit fraudulent activities.
Over the course of the Wuhan virus pandemic, there have been multiple networks offering fake vaccination documents, as many countries enacted health passport systems requiring vaccinations, proof of recent recovery, or negative tests to access venues, use transportation, or simply be allowed to work.
In December, Italian police claimed the number of fake coronavirus vaccination documents being sold online had surged and warned medical professionals, including doctors, may have been involved in faking people’s vaccination status.
Italian police officer Fabio Ferrari commented at the time on other issues arising from the sale of the fake documents, saying: "What people don’t realise is that they hand over their ID and patient documents to rogue individuals and that this information is then resold."

[Daily Wire] A drag queen story hour for children that was reportedly supposed to be held at an American air base library was canceled following public outcry about the nature of the event.
The 30-minute storytime with books read by drag queen Stacey Teed was to be held at a library in Ramstein, Germany, where the headquarters of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe is located.
"An advertisement was posted to the base library social media page before the event had completed Ramstein’s established processes for special observance coordination and approval," Lt. Col. Will Powell, head of public affairs for the 86th Airlift Wing, said, according to The Military Times. "The advertisement has been removed and the event will not take place."
The cancellation followed backlash from Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who sent a letter to U.S. Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall on May 26, asking officials to stop the event.
"I urge you to immediately cancel this politically divisive event, and take appropriate disciplinary action against all involved in allowing this gross abuse of taxpayer funding to place children in a sexualized environment," Rubio wrote in his letter.
He added that it was "insane" for the military to be using resources to promote the event.
"These inappropriate events are extremely divisive at home for good reason; in all cases, they place young children in close proximity with adults who are intentionally and explicitly sexualized," the senator added.
He also asked for details about other instances of the U.S. military sponsoring events for children with drag queens and if money has been spent on such events.

At the same time, Russia will continue to earn $6 billion a year from oil exports to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, for which they made an exception.

In addition, the EU decided to disconnect the Russian Sberbank from SWIFT and imposed a ban on broadcasting in Europe of three more Russian TV channels.

On Tuesday, unknown gunmen shot to death two members of Iranian-backed militias in a city east of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
“Unknown gunmen, who were riding a motorbike, opened fire on a military vehicle of the IRGC in the vicinity of the city of Abu Kamal on the Syrian-Iraqi border, which resulted in the killing of two members,” a military source of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) told North Press.
The source, who preferred not to be named for security reasons, said that the two members were Iraqis and they were heading to a bakery to bring bread for the other members.
Iraqi Hezbollah, perhaps.
After the operation, the two gunmen ran away towards the Iraqi border, according to the source.
The Iranian-backed militias control vast areas of the countryside of Deir ez-Zor and Syria’s Badia.
The Syrian Badia region is a source of concern for the Iranian-backed militias and the government forces, where ISIS sleeper cells launch operations that inflict heavy losses on the forces and militias, despite the intensive security campaigns to comb the Badia.

[Garowe] Eritrea ...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age... n forces shelled a city in northern Æthiopia last weekend, according to UN and regional forces, as a result of a rare bombing after two months of relative peace in the Tigray conflict.
The United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... bulletin, which was viewed by Rooters, cites data from humanitarian organizations in Shiraro, which say at least 23 rounds were fired, some of which ended up in a school that houses the families of displaced persons.
A 14-year-old girl was killed, at least 18 people were maimed, and 12 houses were damaged, one of the documents says.
Late Monday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Tigray (TPLF), the party that controls most of the Tigray region, accused Eritrean forces of attacking its troops on Saturday and Sunday in Shiraro, about seven miles from the Eritrean-Æthiopian border.
Eritrea recently supports Æthiopian Prime Minister Abio Ahmed’s federal forces in the war with TPLF
The TPLF said its forces killed four Eritrean commanders and more than 300 Eritrean soldiers in a kaboom over the weekend.
Eritrean Information Minister Yeman Gebremeskel did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and Rooters was unable to verify the figures or the attack on its own.
The Tigray communication network has not been working for a year.
"As part of a desperate attempt to escalate tensions and draw us into more action, they fired on Sheraro on May 28 and 29," TPLF front man Getachy Redu tweeted.
A front man for Æthiopia’s military envoy, Colonel Getnet Adan, and government front man Leges Tulu did not respond to a request for comment.
Eritrean and Æthiopian troops withdrew from most of the Tigris in mid-2021, and in March the government announced a unilateral ceasefire. This allowed aid to enter the famine-stricken Tiger and led to a lull in hostilities in the conflict, which killed thousands of civilians and snatched millions.
Earlier this year, however, Eritrean President Isaiah Afwerki told state media that his troops would intervene again if Tigrian forces attacked his country or threatened Æthiopia’s stability.

Spokesman for the Syriac Military Council of the #SDF said that Turkey escalates its shelling of areas in #NE_Syria after failing to launch a new military operation. https://t.co/QVGTY4bhk8
— NORTH PRESS AGENCY - ENGLISH (@NPA_English) May 31, 2022
Matai Hanna, the spokesman for the Syriac Military Council of the SDF, said on Tuesday that the Turkish escalation on the contact lines in northeast Syria is a reaction to Turkey’s failure to obtain the green light to start a new military operation.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on May 23 that Turkey would soon launch a new military operation into northern Syria to create a 30-kilometer (19-mile) “security zone” along the border.
However, the Turkish government postponed, two days ago, the military operation indefinitely.
Hanna said Turkey is trying to exploit the world’s preoccupation with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, to displace the indigenous population of northeast Syria.
According to human rights reports, approximately 300,000 people from Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad residents were displaced from their homes as a result of Turkey and its affiliated opposition factions (SNA) invading northeast Syria in 2019.
Hanna stated that the Turkish forces do not abide by the ceasefire agreement they signed with the American and Russian sides in 2019.
Following the Turkish “Peace Spring” military operation in October 2019, which resulted in the occupation of the two cities of Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), north of Hasakah, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US.
The agreements stipulate halt of all hostilities there and the withdrawal of the SDF 30 km in depth away from the Turkish border in addition to conducting Turkish-Russian joint patrols in order to monitor the implementation of the agreements.
For days, the Turkish forces have escalated bombing villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo and in the town of Tel Tamer, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
The Turkish bombing resulted in great destruction in the Assyrian Church in the town of Tel Tawil. A number of schools, homes and property of local residents were also damaged, in addition to an unprecedented wave of displacement from those villages.
Turkey has given way to extremist organizations, consisting of leaders of the second and third ranks of ISIS, and other organizations, to carry out kidnappings, killings and torture within the areas under its control, according to Hanna
The spokesman for the Syriac Military Council held the Russian forces responsible for the Turkish attacks, saying: “The Russian guarantor does not take a serious attitude to stop the violations and war crimes committed by Turkey.”
Hanna drew attention to the need for the international community and countries concerned with the Syrian issue to hold Turkish forces that commit inhumane crimes accountable.

[ColonelCassad] Reportage of the French edition from the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Severodonetsk.
The city is already lost
Exclusive from the French edition:
THE UKRAINIAN ARMY IS IN DECLINE NEAR SEVERODONETSK
Soldiers of the 20th Infantry Battalion of the 3rd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stationed on the heights of Lysychansk, are resting after returning from the front. Below you can see the Seversky Donets River, a strategic watercourse that is difficult to cross and serves as a natural barrier. Further columns of smoke rise over Severodonetsk.
Ukrainian soldiers describe it as hell on earth: “The Russians are bombing and firing mortars 24 hours a day, without a break. When you engage your men, after two minutes of fighting you already have many wounded that you must evacuate. New ones arrive and in a few minutes they are no longer alive.
UNEQUAL FORCEs
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting outside the city, which is under the control of the Russian army. Ukrainian military personnel are retreating due to the imbalance of power between the two sides. Sergeant Roman Ilchenko, 32, explains that “the Russians have artillery, armored vehicles, and their forces are five to six times larger.” Faced with this firepower, Ukrainians bitterly note the weakness of their forces.
Volodymyr Kharchuk, 33, a Ukrainian soldier of the 20th Battalion, talks about his last mission, in which he was responsible for covering the retreat of the Airborne Forces: “We only had AK-47 assault rifles, a 1986 RPG, a 1943 Degtyarev machine gun and a 1933 Maxim machine gun of the year. We also have a Swedish NLAW man-portable anti-tank missile, but the battery failed. That's all we had." He points out that none of his men received night vision goggles, or even binoculars. “We had to bring home models that are usually used for hunting,” Kharchuk points out.
The mission he describes ended badly. After the withdrawal of the paratroopers, the soldiers of the 3rd brigade moved to the bridge over the river, but it was destroyed. Therefore, the soldiers say that they had to cross on foot, struggling with a strong current. “Our equipment is heavy. So we used our ropes to be able to cross. All this under mortar fire. Our evacuation was successful. But knowing that we were on the other side of the river, the command accused us of being deserters. We were threatened with jail. But it was they who ordered us to leave the city,” V. Kharchuk explained, adding that his superiors then denied that they had ordered them to leave Severodonetsk.
ILLOGICAL ORDERS
Vushnik Roman Ilchenko clarifies that they have a new task. Protect the last bridge connecting Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. An order that has no logic for him.
“Officially, to prevent the Russians from getting through. Except that the bridge has already been destroyed. There is no point in protecting him. The Russians may try to cross the river elsewhere where it is shallow. My people are ready for battle, but we need equipment and artillery. Our soldiers are not demoralized, they want to fight. But we no longer believe in our superiors,” Ilchenko said bitterly.
THE RUSSIANS WILL CRUSH US
Faced with such means deployed by Russian troops, people are unanimous: Severodonetsk is already lost, and we must respond. Andriy Shevchenko, a 39-year-old Ukrainian soldier, believes that if the UAF does not strengthen its artillery, it will not be able to do anything: “You cannot fight only with AK-47s. The Russians will crush us. We are being fired upon from the air, from mortars, we cannot respond with simple Kalashnikov assault rifles or short-range grenade launchers.”
So will the Ukrainian army lose the battle of Severodonetsk? “The city is already lost,” Shevchenko replied grimly. According to him, if nothing changes, the entire Donbas will sooner or later become Russian.

According to Pasechnik, the LPR already controls a third of Severodonetsk.
Kadyrov announces the release of the entire residential area of Severodonetsk.
Gauleiter of Severodonetsk declares that the RF Armed Forces have already taken half of the city.
In general, the day of the re-liberation of Severodonetsk is near.
[REGNUM] The total cleansing of the city of Severodonetsk (LPR) was completed on May 31 by Russian units, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his telegram channel.
"Warriors from the Chechen Republic, together with the People's Militia of the LPR and other Russian power units, completed the total cleansing of Severodonetsk."
According to the head of Chechnya, the fighters have moved on to the next stage: they are now conducting a more thorough random check of individual city facilities.
He also noted that the building of the main department of the SBU, which in Severodonetsk was a stronghold of the Ukronazi troops, and the territory adjacent to it "were completely cleared . "
The Ukrainian militants "hurriedly abandoned their offices and fled, but left many 'surprises' in the form of improvised explosive devices." These mines are disposed of by sappers.
“The locals are relieved and happy to meet the Russian soldiers, joking about the fact that the Germans have already been expelled, which means that everything will work out now.”
As Censor.NET reports , this was announced by the head of Luhansk OVA Sergey Gaidai in Telegram .
People sit without light, water and gas.
"We are trying to restore everything we can. But every day there are fewer and fewer repair crews in the region. "The regime of silence is almost non-existent, and when there is, regular communal workers are going to the facilities," he said.
As of yesterday, 95,795 consumers were left without electricity in the region, and today - 146,490. 36 settlements were disconnected - 22 completely, 14 partially.
"As a result of hostilities, there are 38 settlements without gas supply - 31 in full and 7 in part. This is 130,183 (unlike 106,070 last day) subscribers. There is no water supply in Rubezhnoye, Popasnaya, Gorskoye, Severodonetsk, partly in Lysychansk," Gaidai added.

No where else such news is presented. Thank you. The slow grind continues. Volodymyr (the name that cannot be named) will hold out as long as possible then as a gesture of world leadership and social justice Biden will invite him to USA to continue his political ambitions. He has a future with the Democrats. Trudeau and Jacinda Ardern will show the way to absolute rule.
"The Institute for the Study of War, a think tank in Washington, D.C., said on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces appear to be withdrawing from Severodonetsk, allowing Russian forces to conquer the key city.
"Ukrainian forces are now apparently withdrawing from Severodonetsk rather than fighting to the end — a factor that has allowed the Russians to move into the city relatively rapidly after beginning their full-scale assault," the Institute for the Study of War said.

They don't need to hold it. Just grind down the Russians and leave when the situation is untenable. A good chunk of the Russian military is there and will be combat ineffective for a long while after this. The Ukrainians can keep up picking them off all the while.

[Garowe] The Tigray Defense Forces [TDF] reportedly killed hundreds of Eritrea ...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age... n soldiers during a counteroffensive, which if independently verified, would be the worst defeat to President Isaias Afwerki, who has been accused of meddling in the Tigray conflict.
For months, Eritrea has been linked to atrocities in the Tigray region where thousands of civilians and local militia have reportedly been killed. Eritrea works closely with the regime of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who is the architect of the current war.
Getachew Reda, the official spokesperson of TDF and the Tigray administration claimed the Tigray troops responded to an attack engineered by Eritrea troops on May 24th, leading to hundreds of deaths. The troops from Eritrea's 57th and 21st divisions allegedly took part in the fight.
The incident reportedly took place near Adi Awalla village within Tigray and at least 300 Eritrean troops were killed during the offensive which is yet to be verified independently. Several weapons were captured by the Tigrayan forces, he added.
"An offensive launched by Eritrea’s 57th and 21st divisions on the 24th of May was thwarted and the units deployed by the Isaias regime decimated after a successful counteroffensive by our forces around AdiAwalla, Tigray. A brigade commander, three battalion commanders, and more than 300 soldiers were killed and maimed. Many weapons and materiel were also captured," he said.
"As part of their desperate attempt to escalate the tension and drag us into more action, they shelled Sheraro on the 28th and 29th of May. It is clear that the regime will stop at nothing to drag the region into an interminable conflict and sabotage in a real or perceived effort at peace," added the former federal information minister.
Tigray authorities now want the international community to continue exerting pressure on Eritrea over the violation of human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... in the country. Eritrea was blamed for orchestrating a massacre in the Tigray region and the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... along with other partners called for immediate withdrawal by Asmara.
"It behooves the International community to exert pressure on the regime to reverse course while reiterating our unwillingness to let the regime prolong the suffering of our people, " Reda added just a few days after he confirmed that several aid groups have arrived in Tigray after the blockade was lifted by the Æthiopian government.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed maintained that his administration is keen to ensure normal operations within the region which has been entangled in war since November 2020. The 2019 Nobel Peace Prize winner has also been accused of promoting intolerance within the Horn of Africa nation.
Æthiopia is also facing a host of internal challenges including ethnic unrest within the Oromia, Amhara, Afar, and Somali regions. The country, which enjoyed relative peace after Abiy Ahmed took over in 2018, has been incomplete shambles and not even efforts by the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... to restore peace have borne fruits.
[GatewayPundit] Former Attorney General Bill Barr ripped Hillary Clinton over Russiagate and said she is guilty of sedition.
Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager Robby Mook last Friday testified that Hillary personally approved of the dissemination of the bogus Trump-Russia Alfa Bank accusations to the media.
Robert Mueller and more than a dozen Democrat lawyers were paid $35 million to harass Trump and cover it up assist with the coupe disrupt his presidency.
"I thought we were heading into a constitutional crisis. I think whatever you think of Trump, the fact is that the whole Russiagate thing was a grave injustice. It appears to be a dirty political trick that was used first to hobble him and then potentially to drive him from office," Barr said on Glenn Beck’s Blaze TV podcast, adding "I believe it is seditious." Technically they worked with other nation's intelligence agencies so this is treason. A capital offence. Since Barr was part of the cover up he's committed treason too. Our nation is completely gone.
Apologies if this was previously covered. No apologies necessary. We've been watching this unfold for several years now. The recent confirmation brings only sadness.

Perhaps the frustration with the Jury Nullification of the Sussman farce has opened a look at the corruption of the infested DoJ/FBI and the Obama Administration. Consider that the FBI had (has?) a permanent workspace (SCIF?) with access to FBI databases INSIDE the DNC law firm Perkins-Cole since 2012!
"An FBI whistle-blower came forth to inform Rep Jim Jordan and Rep Matt Gaetz that the FBI maintains a workspace inside the law firm of Perkins Cole." {Direct Rumble Link}

/\ American Greatness - A jury of Democrat donors in Washington D.C. on Tuesday found Michael Sussmann, a former law partner at Perkins Coie, not guilty of making a false statement to the FBI in September 2016 when he told the feds that he was not working on behalf of any client.
He noted that the FBI in 2017 had dismissed Sussmann’s allegations regarding the Trump organization’s links to Alfa Bank.
“Now we learn that for four years after that lie, Michael Sussmann was in fact operating this secure work environment,” Gaetz exclaimed.
“What reason would there be for that? And what leverage would the Perkins law firm have over the FBI given this work they’re doing together?”
Carlson was flabbergasted by the special arrangement between the FBI and the Democrat law firm.
“This is not normal, correct?” he asked Gaetz, a lawyer.

The dates for the FBI workspace was installed 2012 and under Sussman for the last 4 years. Bill Barr allowed this to happen. I wonder if he covered in his book. I guess we know why Arkansas is minus two Clinton associates.

My guess (and only a guess) judging from the Perkins Coie offices in Beijing, Taipei, Shanghai, and China IP Agency, was that what we have is an intelligence network.
Sussmann and Wray are witting of the network's existence, hence their reluctance to discuss.
Denmark’s supreme court on Tuesday overturned a lower court ruling ordering the government to compensate 18 civilians tortured during the Iraq war in a joint operation by Iraqi forces and a Danish battalion.
A total of 23 Iraqi plaintiffs had sued Denmark after they were arrested and subjected to “torture and inhumane treatment” in 2004 during operation “Green Desert” near Iraq’s main port city of Basra.
The supreme court ruled that since the Danish troops neither took part in nor were aware of the torture, the defense ministry was not obliged to pay compensation.
An appeals court in Copenhagen had ruled in 2018 that although the Danish soldiers did not join in the torture, they failed to prevent the abuse.
It said they were aware the prisoners faced a “real risk” of being physically abused by the Iraqi security forces, and ordered the Danish state to pay 18 of them 30,000 Danish kroner ($4,300, 4,000 euros) in damages.
But the supreme court instead found “the Danish forces had no command over the Iraqi military and police forces, that the operation was Iraqi-led, and that the Danish forces’ participation in and conduct of the operation was in accordance with the mandate they were sent under.”
“The Danish forces had no concrete and current reason to believe that the Iraqi parties would be subjected to abuses,” the court said in a written statement.
It concluded therefore that “the defense ministry is not liable for assaults committed by Iraqi special forces following the military operation with the participation of Danish forces.”
Experts have said they hope the verdict will clarify what responsibility soldiers have when participating in military missions abroad.
[GatewayPundit] Ben Berquam from Real America’s Voice joined Steve Bannon Tuesday morning on The War Room.
Berquam is in Uvalde, Texas. This morning he was broadcasting outside Robbe Elementary School, the scene of the demonic mass murder of children and teachers last week.

Another questions:
Why is it we have had and increase in Mass School Shootings during Election cycles the last 50+ years?
Why is it the Police have been told to stand down in too many of these, while the shooter empties mag after mag?
Given the clearly mindless Biden politically picked leadership controlling the DOJ/FBI agencies. Can we ever expect to get to the root of whom is actually involved in these politically timed events?

one question answered today. The "$70,000 truck" was his grandma's. Now the question is, if the family was so poor, how'd she pay for the truck? Also apparently there have been a number of criminal charges against the family in the past including assault with a deadly weapon.

Here is the text, if someone wants to take a stab at it:

Zaporozhye region. The filigree precise work of the special forces of the 15th Main Directorate of the DVKR SBU Arrived, saw and bombed the BTR-82 orcs. If we had 300 such well-trained crews of combat drones as in the 15th DVKR of the SBU, and at least once every 3 days such a crew destroyed at least one unit of enemy armored vehicles, then in a month we would destroy 3000 tanks, armored personnel carriers and vehicles of the enemy! The cost of such an impact copter - a Drone, which is made by the Aerorazvedka association - is only 35-40 thousand dollars. The cost of equipping a group for 2-3 pickups, an escort group and cover is only 150 thousand dollars. 300 such groups - 45-50 Million dollars. And the effect on the destroyed Russian equipment would be measured in billions of dollars a month. Those who are responsible for this in the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to immediately organize mass training of crews for strike drones. This is an inexpensive and effective method of fighting the invaders.

The European Council sanctioned the Syria-based al-Qaeda affiliated group, Hurras al-Din, and two of its high ranking leaders.https://t.co/7NjS5V8V4r

In its fight against terrorism, the European Council imposed on Monday sanctions against al-Qaeda affiliated group Guardians of Religion Organization (Hurras al-Din) and two of its leaders.
The targeted Hurras al-Din is a group linked to al-Qaeda that operates in Syria. The council also targeted its leader Faruq al-Suri, and its religious leader Sami al-Aridi.
Hurras al-Din is an Islamist radical group established in Idlib, northwest Syria, in early 2018 as part of al-Qaeda’s global network.
Following this step, 10 persons will be subjected to asset freezes and travel bans, and three group to an asset freeze.
In addition, “EU persons and entities will be forbidden from making funds or economic resources available to listed persons and groups,” the council said.
The EU accuses the militant group of being involved in the planning of terrorist operations under the umbrella of al-Qaida and has established training camps in Syria. The group also includes several Europeans among its fighting ranks, it said.
“Today’s decision confirms the EU’s unwavering resolve to combat the enduring terrorist threat posed by Al-Qaeda, ISIL/Da’esh [ISIS], and all their regional affiliates,” the council said.
The council stressed its commitment to fighting terrorism, and taking all the possible measures against those who “continue to threaten international peace and security.”
In September 2019, the US government designated Hurras al-Din and Faruq al-Suri as a Specially Designated Terrorists and offered a reward reaching $5 million for information on al-Suni.
Since September 2016, the EU was able to apply sanctions autonomously to the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) and al-Qaeda. Before then, sanctions could only be applied to persons and entities listed by the UN or by the EU countries acting individually.

MacDougall’s identity came out in a family court battle in Derby, United Kingdom, after he applied for parental responsibility and child arrangement orders for four of his children — even though he originally signed an agreement saying he didn’t want contact with some of his children.
The mothers of the children were opposed to the applications.
Derby Court Judge Justice Nathalie Lieven named MacDougall to stop other women from using him as a sperm donor and ruled he should not have any responsibility for the children as it would cause them harm.

[REGNUM] The wolf and wolfhound are fairly close relatives. In puppyhood, it is even difficult to distinguish them from each other and it is easy to mistake one for the other. Over time, their paths diverge, and the wolf in the pack is looking for the least risky prey, and the wolfhound is constantly striving to fight a strong and deadly enemy.
People who have chosen the "path of arms" are very similar to them.
In their youth, they can train in the same gym and compete in the same competitions. But later, someone chooses a pack that lives by robbing the weak and unprotected, and someone goes the other way, which has no easy prey. Because the "wolfhound" is not interested in easy prey. He needs a fight that he can be proud of later. He needs a service that gives him the right to respect himself.
Humans are much more complex than wolves and dogs. There are plenty of weak sheep and cowardly jackals among people. These jackals really do not want to be sheep, but it is very scary to follow the path of the wolves, and even more so the path of the wolfhound.
It happens that fate gives them the opportunity to "enroll" in a pack that is reputed to be terrible and ferocious, and due to this, go through life in a wolf's clothing, enjoying power and impunity. But the jackal nature does not go anywhere, and under the skin of a terrible wolf, the cowardly jackal soul still flutters.
The terrible and ferocious Nazi regiment "Azov" did its best to portray a pack of wolves. He even chose "Wolfsangel" - a wolf's hook - as his symbol. Taking advantage of impunity, the members of this gang, which received the consonant nickname "Dung" among the people, showed off a lot over the weak and defenseless.
And then the wolfhounds came and pinned them to the wall.
Wolves driven into a trap make a desperate breakthrough and most often die. Jackals in wolf skins were incapable of this. Tail between their legs and constantly whining in the Internet space, they shat the hole in which they were hiding, and then dutifully trudged into the cages of the "zoo" ...

[Rudaw] A senior Dutch military advisor to the Ministry of Peshmerga affairs on Monday told Rudaw that efforts to unite the Peshmerga forces are ongoing, with party controlled brigades taking steps to join the ministry.
"Both sides are really willing to cooperate with the international advisory group, especially we see a lot of interaction from the Seventy side, and Seventy are very very clear on trying to move as many brigades as possible into the MOPA (Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs)," Captain Bart van den Heuvel, a senior Dutch military advisor to the Ministry of Peshmerga, told Rudaw's Bestoon Othman.
"We definitely see good signs from the Eighty side as well," he said, adding that there is good movement in the process.
Although the Peshmerga forces are under the authority of the Peshmerga ministry, the force’s two largest units are divided among the PUK and the KDP.
Unit 70 forces are affiliated with the PUK and Unit 80 forces are controlled by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), making up the majority of the Peshmerga forces, numbering over 100,000 troops.
The global coalition serves as an advisory role to the ministry, offering training and equipment to the brigades, as well as overlooking the reform process of ministry.
Over the past few years, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has put the unification of the Peshmerga forces on its agenda, and while reasonable steps have been taken towards unification and a number of brigades controlled by the PUK and the KDP have been added to the ministry, many remain to do so.
Individuals claiming that they belong to the Peshmerga forces opened fire today on a security point of the Iraqi army in Kirkuk, a security source reported.
The source told Shafaq News agency that the three perpetrators refused to show their ID cards, which prompted an Iraqi soldier to contact his supervisor, before one of them opened fire on the security point.

More unexpected consequences of Russia’s war in the Ukraine.
[DW] The leader of South Ossetia, the breakaway region of Georgia, has scrapped plans to hold a referendum on joining Russia. However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... a vote could still be held after consultations with Moscow.
The president of a breakaway region of Georgia, South Ossetia, has scrapped plans for a June 17 referendum on joining Russia.
The new leader of the region, which is recognized as separate by only Russia and a handful of its allies, has said he first wants to hold talks with Moscow.
PLAN OF PREVIOUS PRESIDENT REVOKED
The referendum was called by the region's former leader, Anatoly Bibilov, who is considered by many to have called for the controversial vote to secure his reelection.
However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... Bibilov lost a presidential election in early May to his rival Alan Gagloev, who has called the planned plebiscite premature.
Despite criticizing the referendum, Gagloev has voiced his support for South Ossetia's eventual accession to Russia.
Georgia's government has called the plan for a referendum "unacceptable."
Gagloev has said he plans to consult with Moscow on bringing about the region's integration with Russia. He has announced plans to travel to Moscow for talks.
UKRAINE STOKES FEELINGS OF SOLIDARITY
The war on Ukraine has sparked an outpouring of solidarity in Georgia, which was the subject of a Russian invasion in 2008.
That attack came as Georgia battled pro-Russian militia in South Ossetia, after they fired shells at Georgian villages.
A European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... -mediated cease-fire brought an end to the fighting after five days, but the conflict claimed more than 700 lives and left tens of thousands of ethnic Georgians displaced.
The Kremlin subsequently recognized the territory — as well as another separatist region, Abkhazia — as an independent state, stationing its own military there.
