#2 Paid Jizya. $2.34M ($700,000.00 each family) to the families of the 3 bad guys he took out.

#3 3 dead assassins for $2.3M? Cheap at twice the price, especially the way we're printing money these days.

#6 Cheap at twice the price. Now the ISI people know for sure that they should not mess with the CIA people even in a dark alley. Rule number one, always keep it professional.

#7 Cheap, hell. We are now subject to kidnap/ransom of US people that should have diplomatic immunity. We have sent a message to every nutcase that the US will pay tribute to any tinpot dictator or jihadi. We are no different than shipowners paying ransom to the Somali pirates.

You want to have a job with State in some sh*thole place with no diplo immunity other than the vain HopeĀ™ that they will pay your ransom?

This is a very bad precedent president.

#8 I just don't agree. Imagine if a wingnut at the Los Angeles Mexican consulate had a sketchy immigration dispute in Cypress Park and shot down three ICE agents. The uproar would be huge.

To your point though, if someone were considering working for State in some Shiite-hole country without diplomatic immunity, then that someone should not go full Rambo in the middle of town.

We made the best out of a bad situation that wouldn't have happened with good tradecraft.

Probably. But a) neither you or I were there to know the circumstances and b) the only ones who know what happened aren't talking.
