#4 Weren't the kids voluntarily sent to the rus summer camp before aggressions broke out in their home ukr town and villages?

IIRC that was were the logistics broke down, what to do with a bunch of ukr kids who were at a rus summer camp who's homes are now a battlefront?

#6 Sending Ukrainian children to Russia for summer camp was one of the excuses to take them. The Kharkiv offensive provided a convenient excuse not to return the children. The same happened in the south and the children were not returned even though that offensive was much later. Other instances had armed Russian soldiers going through hospitals and institutions sweeping up children or grabbed in other ways. The younger ones are put up for adoption while the older children are "instructed" how to be Russian. If their children get in contact, some parents were able to travel to Russia to reclaim their kids. Some lucky ones were bussed to Ukrainian lines and freed.

Ministry confirms deportation of over 19,000 Ukrainian children to Russia. Only 327 returned. Doesn't count entire families deported to Russia and can't return to Ukraine (e.g. Mariupol).

How Moscow grabs Ukrainian kids and makes them Russians
