#4 The entire Russia/Ukraine war is for resources, including people. The birthrate in Russia is unsustainable. Russia needs more people, hence the transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia. There's also the significant resources, especially in the Donbas, plus the economic boost so much grain production would bring to Russia. Of course, Putin's desire to "recreate" the territory of the USSR also plays a part, and is a signal to the previous "Soviet Provinces" that they are next in his eyes - especially Poland and the Baltics. Ukraine isn't innocent in this, but stopping Putin there is essential in preventing a European-wide war of Russian aggression.

#5 The birthrate in Russia is unsustainable.

So is Ukraine's. Russia has a known birthrate of 1.8. Ukraine's is 1.4. Part of both nation's issues is the brain drain and poverty. I suspect if Ukraine comes through this without being conquered, their population might boom. A good chunk of having kids is the hope for a better future. With all the money that will come in to rebuild, armaments and other industries the birthrate will have a nice little boost. Usually happens after a war.

#6 They should take it up with thair own people who redrew the map and gave Crimea to Ukriane.
No prophet I, but when I saw that on a map I thought "there will be blood here". Russia has repeatedly killed thousands over Crimea.

Yep. Lots of ethnics Russians. When Ukraine voted to gain independence from Russia, almost all the areas voted 85-95% for. Crimea voted 54% for independence. I thought, "Well there's Russia's first target for re-integration"
