Given the R.O.I. advancements in Warfare technology.

The cost of one laser-guided missile for the Stugna-P is estimated at approximately $20,000.

Wiping out armor vehicles costing 100x to 300x more in cost.

In short, the TANK is no longer the Anti-Infantry weapon it once was.

#2 The tank is going back to its WWII role currently as infantry support. In Iraq and Afghanistan, the US used them in this role until the strikers came online. People are already braying the tank is obsolete but the Russian's do not have any good anti-missile systems. Once we see the west's in action, especially the newer laser ones the US is developing, then we can look at that argument again.

I am still wondering if they will hold up against a multi missile attack. Javelin with launcher costs around $120k and each missile costs 80k. Compared to a $5million dollar tank, firing 8 missiles at it to kill it is still a worthwhile expenditure of ammo.

#3 Even a disabled tank is not only out of the fight but also requires lots of resources to recover / repair.

#5 Tanks were cool in the pre-missile era for house-to-house block clearing.
