And an aside - I wish I could see how many red-on-reds there have been, and what the availability/sortie rates are for the Russian Air Force. As an example, Cold War era USAF expected us to make a 4.0 - that is; four sorties per plane in a 24 hour period.

#6 I think the baseline you're looking for is "14 years ago during the War in South Ossetia". Might not be much but they probably don't get as much practice in actual combat as the USAF.

#8 Situational awareness only works if you know where your guys end and their guys start. If the frontline is rapidly moving that may be a bit of a challenge.
