#1 Artyomovsk / Bakhmut looks to be the next Mariupol in the sense of pivotal fights in this war.

I hear neo-nazis Aidar (and maybe some Azov auxiliaries) are here in Artyomovsk / Bakhmut.

Bakhmut is the last major city in DPR that ukr still controls, a huge logistics hub (highways and rails criss-cross the oblast) if I follow correctly. The ground has frozen and the winter offensive has started with artillery, mortars, and incursions shredding the area - and it is not going well for ukr.

Pundits are starting to say that ukr defenses in Artyomovsk / Bakhmut have started to give way. So say defeated, but that seems a lil premature. But lot's of stories of Russian wins in the area. W.Clark had some words about it. One recent celebrity casualty from that front was ukr social media starlet, Capt Sidorov, and his death brings ukr prime time the sads.

UKR journalist Victoria Khamaza stated, The flow of wounded from Bakhmut does not stop.

NYT: Ukrainian soldiers say that the shelling from the Russian side is coming with unprecedented force. They say that the front line now looks like a dirty lunar landscape.

Pentagon: They are firing extremely hard, based on the misconception that the arsenals of ammunition in the West are limitless.

Arm Chair Pundit: It is reported that the Ukrainian command brought reinforcements to the city in the form of several territorial defense units and special forces units. If the situation continues to require the transfer of more and more forces... turns the city into a "real funnel".
