#6 I thought abu designated that the following name is that of the father. Which would make him 'Son of Islam'. Am I wrong here, anyone?

#7 You're wrong, BH. Son is ibn. So 'Son of Islam would be Ibn Islam, which is also quite presumptuous, but not sacriligious. After all, the true Abu Islam would be either Mohammed or Allah, depending on how one chooses to interpret Koranic history.
