#3 The problem is calling them beauty contests.

In the AKC and equivalent other kennel clubs, there are standards of excellence for each breed of dog. These include factors like size, angulation etc. appropriate for the breed's working purpose as well as aesthetic factors.

If you really want to keep your youth connected to tradition, help them to see what a good working camel looks like - and how the structure of a racing camel differs from that of an ideal pack animal for long distance caravans. Even better, include performance competitions as well as show judging.

#10 Come on, guys, here in the States we have Stock Shows where 4-Hers show their livestovk. Also Horse Shows, Dog Shows, and Cat Shows, although why anyone would show a nearly inanimate object such as a cat is beyond me.
