#1 There was an article I saw earlier on Yahoo News that has been moved or edited. The threats made by the Talibs waere blood-curdling. They were threatening not just cities but families by name, warning Pak soldiers and politicians their own homes, wives, children and parents would be targetted. I do not envy the Mighty Pak Army its task today.

What a stinking, hateful mess.

#4 Decision point for Pakistain. They CAN defeat the Taliban, heck, they can CRUSH them, if they really want to. And once they demonstrate seriousness, we and they could take turns at being hammer and anvil along the Af-Pak border until there was nothing left of them but some red-stained dirt. It won't be easy and it won't be pretty but if the WILL is present the outcome is certain.
