#2 Despite the highly publicized deaths in France and other countries during recent heat waves, cold weather kills many more people than hot.
Be careful what you wish for, those of you who believe in anthropogenic global warming. When the ice age hits, you will really wish for global warming.

#3 Well, the climate druids scientists did tell us (and the CIA) in 1974 that the cooling would visit tempests, turbulence, floods and famine upon humankind. So they were right after all.

#5 My imbecile cousin cited Global Warming as the cause of the bitter cold.

#6 That's not as absurd as it admittedly sounds. If the earth's atmosphere were heating up it would do so unevenly, causing a mixing of cold and warm air. Think of how water moves in a pot over a high flame ... as the bottom of the pot gets hot quickly the water it heats rises, causing some of the cooler water at the top to mix around. GW would bring down arctic air to Europe and the US if it were happening quickly.

Doesn't mean we're in fact warming but doesn't mean we aren't either.

#7 However the fact is that is hasn't warmed for 10 years (or more if you remember the satellites were "calibrated" using dodgy land based temperature sensor data).

#8 It's about -12 here in Estonia, with about 4 inches on the ground.
An American friend drove over from a nearby city to pick up his father at the airport, but he didn't make it farther than London.
We went and saw Avatar, instead.

#9 "Brutal winter?"
It's December. It's cold. That white stuff you see is called "snow".

"Temperatures as low as minus 33.6 degrees Celsius have been recorded in Bavaria."

Yup. On top of a mountain lake where the cold air sinks in. Nobody lives there.
