#1 From the article: Toshiba has already interested the remote Alaskan town of Galena (pop.700) in a 'pocket nuke' of 10 MW, to unshackle it from diesel-fired electricity that costs about 10 times the price paid in the lower 48.
That looks interesting.

#2 They have been talking about this in Galena for over 5 years. I don't think much has happened with this yet.

#3 Galena's load is about 1 to 2 megawatts. District heating would be useful, but there is no 10 mw of load around there, unless you start building a mess of greenhouses or something.

PRESUM A MINIMAL SEA RISE + NORMAL TIDAL, HURRICANE FORCES + USMC BUILDUP/RELOCATION??? [congestion] = GUAM, CNMI POWER PLEXES WILL BE ROUTINELY OR PERMANENTLY FLOODED OUT. Sea Walls may not be enough.
