#2 Based on this article, plus another news source saying that Egypt has charged 8 of its citizens (US residents), it appears that an advance copy of the video must have been sent to Egypt. Possibly by the guy who made the film. Apparently it's the advance copy that fell into the wrong hands - and was circulated. And this triggered all of the subsequent embassy riots.

The Obama Administration was warned three days before the 9-11 attack about the deteriorating security in Benghazi.
The deadly Islamist attack was carried out on the 11th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks on America and only three months after the same consulate was bombed.

Three days before the deadly assault on the United States consulate in Libya, a local security official says he met with American diplomats in the city and warned them about deteriorating security.

#6 What disturbs me more is the ~~dickdance~~ obfuscation of the entire tragic incident. While the Taliban openly celebrates and further encourages the burning of US Embassies from the ME to South Asia, the administration has yet to declare the attacks terrorist related.
