#4 Typical progressive liberal mentality; once a certain comfortable level of living is achieved throw all thoughts of progress out the window and live life on someone else's accomplishments. Instead of the rich this time it is all men.

I suspect she may keep the pajama boy types around since every women needs a man to look down upon once in a while.

lastly I have witnessed how women tend to treat other women when men are not involved. They can be brutal, petty and vicious while calling each other sisters and friends.

#8 Oh, I've loved Fred Reed (in a fangirly way) ever since he had a stint (the deity only knows how THAT happened) as a columnist for the Army/Navy/AF Times organization. His pieces were frank, funny and biting - kind of a bush-league Steyn or PJ O'Rourke. Of course it didn't last too long - he was either fired or stomped off in a huff.

On another note, and if I can beg the indulgence of the Rantburgundians ... I have a sale on, of my Kindle and Nook format e-books from now until the 29th. All of my eBooks which are also in print editions are now 25% off the usual price on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

And being that this is now Christmas Eve, and the sun has gone down and all - a Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years to all Rantburgundians. I sense that it will be a challenging year - but there may be great things in store for us who hold fast to our core beliefs.
