#2 It's looking more like a sure loss for Cleveland and the state of Ohio.
In other developments, Al Sharpton has canceled a CLE march scheduled the night before the RNC is to start, a single site event is still scheduled.

#3 The Akron Beacon Journal has an article reviewing police coverage in CLE from area departments, and also points out that extra security will be necessary in communities outside of CLE because hotels outside of CLE will be housing attendees to the RNC.
The U.S. Secret Service and the city of Cleveland have not answered Beacon Journal questions about whether security levels are sufficient, or below original estimates. Cleveland police and city officials have publicly said 500 local law enforcement and 2,700 visiting officers from across the state will handle security for 50,000 delegates, their families and media.

Pretty weak plan that doesn't consider an active shooter with soft high value targets.
