#3 Building islands in the South China Sea apparently hasn't upset the environmentalists. Therefore, Mr. Trump should say we're going to build a few for ourselves. There have to be a few reefs that are suitable for this.

#5 They are just stationary targets. Missiles (and possibly typhoons) can neutralize them. This is just the PRC being the neighborhood bully.

#6 an underwater neutron nuke (of unknown ownership) going off near those islands would remove them from the "usable" category with the resulting wave. Claim it was the NORKS misfiring...
