#1 ...I have said this in the past and will say it again:. If it's so easy to smuggle in a nuke, why hasn't it been done before?

Your presupposition is that it HASN'T already been done.

#4 I'm sure it has been attempted. Just that the FBI (and by extension, Homeland Security) has rather good detectors and given the nature of nuclear bombs, both nuclear explosive and dirty types, I'm sure the agencies involved is keeping it very quiet to prevent panics.

How good are the detectors? FBI once detected and caught a guy going down I-5 in Washington State, turns out he was transporting his pet cat that just had radiation treatment for feline cancer.

So I'll say it's very difficult, if not impossible, to smuggle nuclear anything into USA without massive clearances from various agencies.

#5 Many things have been done that were not done before.

Or... There's a first time for everything.

The people charged with our security are required by their jobs to factor in, if not assume, the worst case scenario.

(The above is not applicable to the Jarrett administration, of course.)
