#1 GE imagery link found here.

Zooming out from Russian tank park will reveal Ukraine border (white line) 18.47 kilometers straight west.

The absence of HETs (Heavy Equipment Transports) likely indicates the armor arrived via rail line which is approx 1.7k to the west of the tank park. A permanent armored depot would likely have a rail spur running directly to it.

A cursory scan of the area did not reveal any tank gunnery ranges or other armor related training areas. Proximity to civilian housing also points to assembly area vs training area.

Barring a Barrett-Jackson armor auction, I'm labeling this a forward armor assembly area. There may well be others.

#2 Speaking from ignorance, but it seems to me if Ivan were serious, they'd have more capable tanks than T-62's lined up, given the AT weapons the Ukraine has likely picked up in the past few years.

#3 So let's see:
1. Russia moving on Ukraine
2. China threatening any US ship in "their" South Pacific Sea
3. Iran threatening to close Hormuz
4. Korks screwing around at yet another missle? base
5. DemocRATS threatening to hamstring the US Administration.
6. Multiple stories about how small and poorly trained/maintained the US Military is
7. Chinese generals feeling the pinch because of trade war.

How does one spell "Perfect Storm"?

Suffer the heavy initial losses and overwhelm the defenses with older systems.

#5 The Soviets Russians have had problems improving on the T-72, which is not that much better than the T-62. They have a lot of T-62s gathering dust in the reservist depots, why not use 'em before they rust to pieces? After all, "quantity has a quality all its own"...

Yep, counted HETS in the morning. Counted HETS in the evening. He needed them to move south.
