#1 "The true crime here is the fact that they're killing off basically America's public lands, killing off the wildlife, killing off our water," says Kevin Mayer, a U.S. Forest Service law enforcement assistant special agent in charge. "This is stuff that, you know, it's not gonna repair itself."

Well, they're Vibrant! indigenous people growing pot, not white guys in business suits growing tobacco, so it's all good.

#2 Not really a new thing.
Decades, decades. ago a friend told me about how you go deer hunting in Eastern Oklahoma: bring along a local and don't ask silly questions when you come across people in the woods. The commercial forests ("Duchy of Weyerhauser") had small marijuana fields hidden up in the hills guarded by things like fish hooks at eye level on the paths and paranoid people with guns... A deputy, and his F-150, disappeared one night and my friend figures it is in one of the fenced off abandoned coal pits sunk in the deep water.

#4 The true crime here

The drugs are fine, so are the opiate deaths. No, it's the purple dicked gazelle and the riverine turdeater (a rare swamp hog) we're worried about.

#7 Foolish ideas that caught on and that will make future generations think our era's leadership was one of the stupidest in US history:

- "gender dysphoria"
- climate change hysteria
- amnesties and "sanctuary cities" for illegal aliens
- building up Communist China
- allowing oligarchs to concentrate their hind on entire sectors of our economy
- Black Lives Matter and "F--- the Police"
- Hillary Clinton's candidacy
- three generations of affirmative action
- the canonization of Zero, the left-wing affirmative action empty suit
- legalizing marijuana

#9 But keep that war on drugs going! It's succeeding so well! Mexico is a failed state that is exporting its toxic culture to us, but surely victory is just around the corner. All we have to do is continue the policies that have brought us to this point.

This may be news to a dipstick, but people have been avoiding revenuers since the concept of the tax.

Second, people have been hunting deer in the King's forest since the King's forest.

The ignorance is surpassed only by the propensity to post straight up propaganda; the deal about France yesterday was flat awful in its cherry picking information mixed with a B-Grade Tom Clancy video game introduction.

Let's play a game. Where in the United States are the environmental and manufacturing laws, city county state federal, that a legal meth factory can be built yet still be competitive price wise to those who have portable labs to cook up meth in hotels?

#10 "Legal drug use which turning iconic San Francisco into a shithole is a neocon propaganda!"

"Pot is just as safe as meth."

"Driving conditions have not deteriorated in Colorado since the legalization of pot!"*

*actually, decriminalization. Huge difference.

"Meth addicts with access to cheaper, affordable meth will smoke the same amount and put the savings into investments."

#11 Legalizing weed is a great idea that has wide support among the American people. Colorado has new ambulances, new fire trucks, new schools because of all the new revenue.

#10 is yet another ridiculous strawman. Seriously, you people are just terrible at arguing.

#13 It isn't legal in Colorado dumbass. It has been de-criminalized so that in certain circumstances using pot is not against the law. In fact there are quite a few counties, if not the majority, where sale is against the law. If you had read #10, or knew what you are talking about, you would know the difference.

As for the straw men, when you argue legalize drugs, the de facto 'end the war on drugs' crap, those are the exact physiological and moral comparisons you make.

Avoiding the other points is cowardly, because get this chuck, there is plenty of illegal growing going on in Colorado because of the taxes.

Fire truck, ambulances, new schools - ever get curious why that school shooting didn't get hardly any attention? My guess is those high school age perps were stoned out of their gourds. Consistently.

You want to talk pot decriminalization, fine, dandy, tighten up your posts. It must be admitted that there will be some very close parallels to alcohol problems, as well as a few more, such that with edibles there is no hint of use or abuse other than unsober behavior. The alcoholics of pot are still going to drive to the store after running out, there will be driving under the influence, there will be unproductive and lost days of work, everything which happens with alcohol but here you have expanded the number of people who do abuse to alcohol + pot.

#14 "Legalizing weed is a great idea that has wide support among the American people."

At times this has also been said about:

Slavery
Eugenics
Banning alcohol
Chemically castration children "born the wrong gender"

Popular doesn't mean correct. No sane person trusts a pothead with any task more complicated than mopping -- and even then, only when there is plenty time for the floor to dry after they're done.

But, like so many other things, smoking dope is easier than thinking.

#15 I bought legal weed from Colorado this summer.

"My guess is those high school age perps were stoned out of their gourds. Consistently."

What the hell, grandpa? Weed doesn't make you fly into a homicidal rage. It makes you want to chill on the couch and eat a whole box of Oreos. Weed is about 10,000% safer than alcohol. Alcohol is a drug that DOES make people fly into homicidal rages.

I mean, you give it away with your "my guess" part. How about providing evidence for your claim? I suppose I'll give credit that an unsourced conspiracy theory isn't just yet another personal attack. Still low on the pyramid of debate, but a step up is still a step up.

The harm done by keeping weed illegal is greater than the harm done by making it legal and keeping honest people out of jail. That's why we made it legal. By vote of the people. America First!

#18 Growing weed is a Federal crime. Federal three letter agencies can see these patches from space. Growing weed on Federal property is an opportunity for the Federal forces to take action. I recommend low level strikes by BUFFS with napalm.

#19 Weed doesn't make you fly into a homicidal rage. It makes you want to chill on the couch and eat a whole box of Oreos.

Sure, for the normies. But for those with a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia, like my friend’s son, it makes them get messages through the computer from the archangel Michael to stick a kitchen knife through the heart of the zombie that used to be Grandma, to stop her from poisoning Mom. He’d been smoking weed at school to help him calm down from the anxiety caused by the earliest stage of schizophrenia — because he believed that same message you just spouted, Mr. McCoy — and it drove him out of college before precipitating him into the homicidal abyss. Thank goodness they’d lokked under his bed the first time he got a three-day remand on the hospital’s mental floor, or he would have shot up the entire household with the scary black gun they found there. Now Levi serving a ten year sentence in the prison psych ward, taking his meds religiously and hoping that at the end they actually allow him to leave, because schizophrenia can’t be cured, only suppressed for the duration of medication.

Given that about 1% of the U.S. population is schizophrenic, and given that the U.S. population is about 350 million, that makes about 3.5million who could be turned into homicidal maniacs by smoking/eating/drinking tinctures of marijuana. How does that number compare to the number of Muslims likely to become jihadis?

As for the grandpa crack, even back in the day when the THC level was something like half what it is now, we all knew someone who’d gone bonkers from smoking the stuff.

#20 Weed doesn't make you fly into a homicidal rage It makes you want to chill on the couch and eat a whole box of Oreos..

You bum. You never left the 25 corridor, then you never left the couch. I've known people who re-invent the wheel and are doing fine. I've known people who get the paranoids and curl in a ball for two hours.

In the national front, there is the winningest Olympic swimmer in history who loves bong rips..on the other, a fellow who decided to shoot a US Senator in the head.

As for the grandpa crack, even back in the day when the THC level was something like half what it is now, we all knew someone who’d gone bonkers from smoking the stuff.

There is a term in Colorado they call Green Out..as in alcohol Black out. Usually involves people who are not accustomed to the stuff getting more than they anticipated.

As TW said, there are those who should avoid it like the proverbial Indians should avoid whiskey. Again, there are those who are high functioning and win snowboard trick Olympic medals. If you believe Toby Keith, he'll never smoke with Willie Nelson again. If you believe Snoop Dogg, he like riding around in a car smoking endo and sippin' gin. If you believe me, I knew a guy, closest to the couch potato stereotype you present sonny Jim, just rip and take all video game comers on the internet; that's world wide. Honestly, it was a joy to watch a pro.

Since you are a noob, I am from Kansas, incidentally grandpa would be a plains Indian compliment, but it also means that with Colorado (to our west) and Oklahoma (to our east) and with a cat lady democrat in governorship, this is an issue, so I've done my research. You claim a pot purchase in CO, so you know that everything is marked and measured and the employees have earmarks on the uppers, downers, appetite enhances and suppressors, even flavors. The lack of interest in high school students shooting up a school in Colorado is seeing the shadow of the groundhog and taking a WAG these paranoid misfit children likely had a gummy for breakfast and another for lunch as a normal day until they built a resentment for achievers.
