#2 And before "they" said smokers were at a higher risk (which makes sense). Now it's not? GTFOH!

#3 Former smokers have a higher risk. Current smokers' risk is lower. Go figure.

#5 Gin & Tonics, fine cigars.

If I remember right, it was posited the virus would attach itself to particles in the air like smoke. If that is the case, a nicotine patch won't work - have to break out the Gauloises.

#8 Apparently there are no statistics concerning non-smoking tobacco and/or nicotine users (chewing tobacco / nicotine patches & gums) and China virus disease.

If there's something to this it could be caused by a low dose of one of the other chemicals in tobacco smoke.

#9 I have some Bavarian Schnupftabak. Admittedly I've stopped for now...only took 3-5 snorts a day anyway, but still.

#10 Would be hilarious if this turns out to be true. Especially if ciggies and dip work but patches don't.

#11 Thought of that too EH2660; also vaping and heavy potsmokers.

How about shisha?

Also, could be that cigarette smoking becoming increasingly intolerated, people already give smokers a wide berth.
