#1 About Iran, it should be noted that their big plan for Israel — years in the preparation — was a pincer attack from Lebanon and Gaza while Hezbollah rained 150,000 missiles across the land from above. But Israel has located and destroyed the tunnels from both Gaza and Hezbollah‘s territory south of the Litani River, and mapped the coordinates of Hezbollah’s missile storage dumps, so the attack will have to come visibly over the fences while the targetted storage dumps will display very impressive secondaries — probably visible from orbit.

The same thing that President Trump did in the same situation: put his people in place temporarily. There is a time limit they can hold the office without confirmation and they don’t get put on the pension plan, I believe. But they can hire and fire, and establish policy, though their successor can reverse both with a pen stroke.
