Iran and Russia are strategic allies.
Iran and Russia are military allies in the wars and
terrorism against Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Russia provides Arms/Ammo/Missiles and a lot of other things to Iran via the shared Iranian/Russia border.

Now the hook.
Russia is openly hostile and continuously threatening the Ukraine's and has repeatedly militarily toed the line with Ukrainians.

Less we forget, Russia shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17) back in July of 2014, while it was flying over Ukraine.

Accident?.......Maybe.
But there sure is a lot of Political Elbow rubbing going on.
