#8 The copy-paste cabal of UK-US media alone is not enough for a comprehensive view of any situation. All it leads to is the position the politicians and their mouthpieces want to herd you into.

What Rantburg does is supplement your intake of info, by carefully collated voices and bits of articles, news, opinions from multiple perspectives. Because we're not going to be herded. Or guilted or panicked or browbeat into believing the mainstream line. People here form their own opinions and are unapologetically inclined to keep or revise them.

Badanov has been kind enough to fill in for Fred, and is bringing us translations of the word from Russia since before this was just sabre rattling.

It's only prudent to keep abreast of not only what your enemy is publishing, it pays to also know what kind of bullshit is being fed to masses round the world. So there are sometimes reports and articles out of terrorist states, hostile kingdoms and utter fantasies from the AP and BBC too.

It's very subtle, but things have changed in the way news is being presented in Russia.

If MIGS fly out of Poland, will they not return to Poland for maintenance, fuel, ammo? Russia will not stand by and let this happen. We are on the precipice.

November elections suddenly no longer discussed. Perhaps there will be no elections. Domestic oil production in abeyance, for good reason? When Poland's air bases are attacked with Russian cruise missiles. What will NATO do ?

Why would they? Ukraine fly and maintains MiG-29s. Fuel and weapons are already pouring over the border. Doesn't matter if it is Stingers or AA-11s.
