#4 The issue is with the brushless motors used in battery drills. They're 'sparky'.

That and dripping fuel is not a good mix.

#6 Read a story some years back of two guys trying to steal gas with a shop vac. That didn't end well either.

#7 Many years ago I caught 2 weinerheads doing that to my car. I heard some noise outside my house around 1:00 AM. My dogs woke me up. They were very afraid of my .45 colt. They were both 18. I don't think they enjoyed their stay in the County jail.

#8 I have seen a weld done on a fuel tank containing fuel, TW. Heard of such a couple of times by some old timers. Nitrogen or CO2 purges to force out Oxygen. Still very unsafe. Only done for dire straits. Lots of tight buttholes on the one I saw. The weld was below the fuel line too. A brass punch and brass hammer are faster than a drill and dont spark. I was reluctant to say that, but any thief reading here will know that. The good folks here should know how for myriad reasons.

#9 So nice to have my hypothesis confirmed, Lowspark.

Both of them, actually — what would happen and that someone here would actually know. ;-)
