Applebee's exec says in leaked email that skyrocketing gas prices and inflation are an 'advantage' that can be used to LOWER wages for workers who already live paycheck to paycheck because they expect more people to apply for work

#2 I still see so many "We're hiring" signs in front of these establishments when I'm out and about. I guess sitting up in the exec suites, they miss that all.

#5 If you read most of the e-mail, you'll see it's not all sensationally bad.

If they have to get a second job, make sure Applebee's is their favorite. That's the jist of that part of the lengthy e-mail, suggesting even the DM can sensationalize information.

#8 I'd heard that Applebees and their entire category of restaurants are having real trouble these days as Gen Z prefers non franchise local foods. Perhaps the exec is lashing out a bit at his Gen Z employees.
