#3 Darth - yes, quite a few cliffs in the Alps & Pyrenees mountains when they're coming down off of one; Fabio Casartelli went off one back in 1995 doing 50 MPH and was killed instantly.

#4 I wonder if Dernière Rénovation is yet another branch of the Black Bloc movement, like Antifa, BLM, ELF, and so forth...

#6 Years & years ago there was this Catalan separatist group (forget the name right now) that used to pull these stunts whenever they went through the Pyrenees mountain stages. Haven't seen those guys in ages now.

#10 M. Murcek, no, because of all the extra CO2 the cyclists breathe out.

#11 They should have a car go before the cyclists. If anyone is in the road the car will either squish them or force them to reconsider their protests.

#14 When the NBC crew was covering this live, I spotted a picture from the 1980's of Bernard Hinault ('The Badger', five time TdF winner) punching a protestor hard in the face with an overhand right when they pulled that shit back then. To me, that's the right response.
